I wish it was that easy to just shake off the comments and lose the people that make these comments 😅 but sometimes it’s not that easy so here’s my advice 👇
If you’ve also ever been told an unsolicited comment regarding your weight or body then I want to say I’m sorry and to remind you to not allow the opinion of someone with deep-rooted insecurities make you feel small. Don’t change yourself to please another. Don’t starve yourself of joyous food and lifelong memories because of what someone said. Don’t conform to unrealistic beauty standards to please them.
These people have never done anything for you, but your body has. It has allowed you to feel joy and release sadness. It has housed your favourite foods. It has made your heart flutter. It has taken you on countless adventures and provided you with hundreds of joyful moments of intimacy.
So don’t let someone make you question your worth.
Your body is not the problem. They are. You’ve come too far to go back now. So keep enjoying your life in your glorious body and you watch as they stare in envy because they will never learn to feel at home in their bodies as you are learning to. Don’t let anyone control your happiness because it’s not them that live in your body it’s you. So the only opinion of your body that matters is your own.

Ok. I know internet comments are notorious for being just distilled and concentrated stupidity. But the commenters on Instagram are on another level. Like everyone thinks they are an armchair expert and every video is actually some crime against everything.
So I just saw a reel from a place somewhat close to me of the ministry of transportation doing some slope stabilization of a silt bluff above a highway along a lake. They stabilize this by controlled explosives to trigger a landslide. This way the landslide happens when the highway is closed and no one will get hurt.
The comments are all “they killed so many fish doing this” or “fisheries must be if fining them for this” or “this is going to destroy the property value of the people above”
Like first of all. It’s a big lake. The fish will swim away from the land slide and come back once the sediment settles.
Second. It was the ministry of transportation doing a controlled landslide to make sure an uncontrolled slide doesn’t happen and kill people on the road. As a government ministry, they would work with fisheries and do a full environmental impact report. They built a concrete lock block wall to contain most of the slide so it was pretty much just the dust cloud that made it over to the lake. It’s also just silt. More silt probably flows into that lake through natural streams in a day than what that landslide did from rivers.
Third. There is no property above the silt bluff. It’s a park area. Mostly hiking trails. Granted, you probably wouldn’t know this without knowing the area. But it’s also not like you can see any houses or development in the video. And even if there was. I’m pretty sure it be better to have part of your land slide off in a controlled way rather than uncontrolled.
Like why do people insist on being armchair experts on things they know nothing about? And decide that anything they see is probably wrong or evil.

Blocking out the name because I don't want to shame someone who was being perfectly polite, but something that I see periodically and that happens to me sometimes is someone will make a comment asking or recommending that a video maker make certain content and it's something we've already done. I understand the urge, but I would recommend people look through someone's catalog before suggesting they do something; it's possible they already have!
