Mystic Messenger Timeline (Explained)

I'll be obviously skipping a lot of stuff in between, but this is just to make things clear. It's not the way you're supposed to play, just the timeline.

First Rika Behind the Story (DLC)

Then I'll start counting as Year 1, the events that lead to the RFA and Mint Eye foundation.

Year 1:

V and Rika know each other

They meet Saeyoung

Saeyoung leaves

Rika kills the Twins's mom

Rika gets engaged to V

Mika and Rika (Mina) create 1st draft of Mint Eye

V buys the department

*on that note, seems that there are 4 cameras but Saeyoung only knows of one*

**This also implies that Saeran was abused as soon as V and Saeyoung took their eyes off of him since Rika used Saeran as model to defeat Saeyoung's skills as a hacker.

***What happens because neither Saeyoung nor V know anything about Saeran whenever they reunite for RFA parties and their engagement? Why no one asked anything?

Year 2:

Rika meets Jumin

RFA begins (yes, it was Mint Eye first, and the reason why the name was Magenta first. Mika?)

RFA 1st party is held

Jaehee joins RFA

Rika kills Sally

RFA 2nd party is held

According to V and Saeyoung this is where the hacker starts attacking the RFA (first time)

Rika blinds V

Saeyoung installed the Special System. AKA: The Bomb

Plot holes: Where's Mika? Why they don't notice there's another person living there? It's not that easy to hide your presence 💀

But according to V, he knew about Mika. It's at least implied.

10. According to several chats during Yoosung route, they barely paid attention to V being blinded. This of course included Zen, Yoosung, and Jumin (who is worried and suspects something but doesn't intervene despite V having severe corneal damage from external trauma)

11. There's a point where Jumin admits barely seeing Rika after the 2nd party. Meeting with her and V for the last time 3 months before her death. Yoosung Route. Day 9. Chat room 7AM called V's eyes.

*At the same time, there's a line, I forgot where exactly, that says that both, Rika and V called off their engagement at some point. They don't say anything about coming back together after that. wtf!?*

12. "Rika commits suicide"

Another Story

1 month after her death, prologue.

Five months later

*means 4 months after they break up their engagement? Assuming they did not break up before but because of Rika behavior blinding him. Which kind of solves the plot holes from Year 1 setting Mika on the apartment and V not fully knowing but suspecting, although it would be impossible or almost impossible without his eyes do something about it. Especially since his blindness is recent. If you need to understand a bit more about blindness watch my post on Rika killing Sally. It may be a dog, unlike V lol but it's still enough information to set up the rest of the story.

Anyways, let's go back to our timeline no?

Bad ending prologue #1 (Casual & Deep) and #2 (Another) are part of the same story and unlikely that it is set into an *alternative route* like some people like to say. Bad ending prologues even from Another Story seem to fit almost too perfectly when you think about it, but only if you agree to go with Unknown after rejecting him several times.

Because it would fit into the idea that the MC's were captured by the cult and discarded after a while (or put to work under Mint Eye. But also because according to the opening on the Casual and Deep, it would mean that Saeran's been watching you, so does Saeyoung.)

As I said before, the other MC's are either dead or anything but MIA (whatever that means for Mint Eye?) and this one, the brunette, is selected and it's the only one who survives and passed the whole trial. Not at first but it doesn't matter. This MC is not dead. The others are. You think "The others" are just the player with different image? I've got news for you, each one of this has a number~ check this post ^^

Either you become the assistant of Unknown with that bad ending which is an option available for every prologue or you enter Day 1 to Day 4 of Another Story and play throughout to reach:

Day 6 and Day 10 from Ray/Saeran Route which are part of the same ending. They're not a different ending. Both however lead to the Casual Route, Day 1 (after the prologue)

Which means, if you get the bad ending in the prologue of Casual/Deep you'll be going back to Mint Eye. Yes. It's not supposed to be your first rodeo there. And if you have a Bad Ending on Mint Eye, you're brainwashed andd set on Casual/Deep (You're supposed to be an spy, but who do you work for? Are you a victim or a villainess? that's another story 😜)

My theory?

*This is where I'm still stuck, so I'll be fixing major plots here and there and editing this same post over and over until I get it right. Please bear with me 😭*

Rika DLC > 1st party > Rika gets engaged > Saeyoung leaves > Rika kills Sally > Rika kills Saeran's mom > Rika starts torturing Saeran > Mint Eye begins > 2nd party > Hacker attack > Bomb is installed > Rika blinds V > Rika dies > Another Story (prologue) > Another Story (Day 1 to 4) > Another Story (Day 6 & 10, bad relationship both of them) obviously with what causes these bad endings > Casual Route (with bad endings included) > Deep Story (with bad endings included) > Secret Endings (except for V dying, we'll get there) > Another Story again but V route happens first (no happy or normal ending) and then something weird happens:

And this part if I'm being honest, I have no idea but I'm fixing it cause my theory is that

V and Saeran's route become so intertwined that is almost impossible to know what happened.

The bomb on Mint Eye? Saeran? Although it is suggesting in the bad endings that he died, we never saw that to happen.

V dying in the secret endings?

Saeran burn?

Seven does mention a couple of numbers, associated with the other MCs, somewhere in the game. Unfortunately I can't remember if it's on a call or a chat so I'm going back all over again because I was so shocked at the time I was unable to take a screenshot.

Truth to be said I can't fully find the order rn but! I will, I definitely will. I need time. I mean, more time. I've been working on this for 6 to 7 years now, I'm posting this because it's so big I can't keep it to myself and I'm freaking out here. So I'll be editing this in the future. As many of my other posts. Sorry lol

Ironically, Saeran's AE would be indeed the Final Ending.

The Ssum 2 is actually... not that bad?

It has been 14-ish days since The Ssum: Love From Today (or The Ssum Season 2 if we must) was released. We were introduced to a new character named June, a blonde cutie pie that looks kinda sad (?) and fragile (?) and reminds me of Yoosung from the very first picture release. His voice and the way he talks even gives off Yoosung vibe even more. The spoiler stated, “He has ties to someone from Mystic Messenger,” and I was like, OKAY YOOSUNG????? Or perhaps a little far off, RIKA????? Then bam it’s actually—welp if you haven’t played it yet then I’ll let you find it out yourself lol

The revelation received mixed reaction from “wtf” to “WTF??” and I gotta admit I was one of them who was like,,,,, why,,,,, but it didn’t get to make me stop playing June route because:

- The writing in this season actually gets better

Teo route was boring af (spoiler alert?) boi kept doing part time jobs, we got two couple fights that didn’t even make sense, and somehow he ended up getting involved in a cult like ??????? I know they were trying to build a slow pacing relationship that lasted 200 days and added many “realistic” things but fam this aint it. And don’t get me started with the waiting time in between his chats, like 20+ minutes to wait for him climbing a hill, in a bed time chat? Nah fuk u man

Harry route.... god I hate don’t like it very much because 1) he doesn’t make it easy for me at all, 2) some of MC options in the chat are either gold-diggerish, or very jealous, or mean, or ignorant, and I don’t wanna be that kinda person

Don’t get me wrong, Teo and Harry are good characters and their designs are cool but the storytelling... is really all over the place

Since the writer from Cheritz’s previous games including Mysme is making a comeback in this season for June, playing his route now I can really see the difference. June started off falling in love instantly for MC and in only like 5 days I found out he has terminal disease. Nice. Tragic and angsty and very Mysme of you, June

BUT other than that, the conversation flows nicely, not too short and too long, the waiting time is reasonable, and I love how we get to talk about the planets thing in the chat; MC telling June to write in Gratitude Diary, June telling MC that he likes to read stuffs in Root of Desire, Piu-Piu advising us to look around the planets as we wait for June. It makes a huge difference for me. The whole meeting-a-fateful-stranger-in-some-random-app concept feels more realistic, and those planets are now part of the story and not just there to... exist. Though, it does make me wonder if June has this battery thing going on for him too, and if that’s why he doesn’t call us as often as Teo used to (but I’m still on day 10 and he’s currently trying to recover his health, so perhaps he probably just doesn’t get the energy and time to call us often lolol)

AND I KINDA LIKE PIU-PIU HERE. It feels... useful and friendly now. Piu-Piu in Teo route feels like a mean sassy bird and Piu-Piu in Harry route is just weird and likes to invade people’s privacy

- June having ties with Mysme character

Yes, this is also another reason I keep playing. Finding out that this new lovable character has a relationship with one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite games? I’m sold. I don’t care if this is just some way of Cheritz to get Mysme players into The Ssum. They have the right to do so—I mean it’s their game??? Some people are also saying that Cheritz should just release another contents for Mysme rather than doing this with The Ssum, and I think that’s valid. But Mysme has been running for years already, and keeping an otome game around for this long must be very hard. Releasing another content for Mysme means that Cheritz must gather their old writers, old artists, and old voice actors and perhaps they don’t have the resources to do so

Ofc this reason might not be true and Cherits just simply doesn’t want to work on Mysme anymore, and that’s their decision I’d like to respect

Also, if Teo and Harry made me miss Mysme because of their poor writing, June here actually makes me want to play Mysme again because he’s related to ***** and it’s fun being able to see ***** from different perspective

Moreover I’d rather be a gf of June who has half-brother (oops) from Mysme than being Zen’s ex. Wtf was that

And who knows? Maybe we will get another chara who’s related to V next????? Idk tho it might be too much of a stretch but I’m not gonna complain lol

- Cheritz is trying their very best

Them using AI art is wrong, and they have addressed that issue so I won’t repeat it here. I just wanna acknowledge their effort in making a game we would enjoy. They're pretty fast in handling and responding to our complaints, they still give us some battery freebies in the game so people who can't afford batteries or subscription can save them to play, and tbh you don't have to purchase every paid option in the chat too (I know I don't). Some players also share the paid pictures online, so you can decide to pay just for the pictures you wanna keep. We have a friendly and helpful community ;_;

The subscription price is still too much for many players and I myself can’t afford it every month because I have a family to feed, but I try to understand that in the end Cheritz is still an independent company that has to make profit. They have to pay rent, their employees, and people who work with them. I encourage people who can afford to keep supporting them, and those who can’t, I’m sure Cheritz appreciates our support and feedback just as much!

In conclusion, I just love them and I hope they keep up with the hard work

I want to say much more tbh but I’m kinda tired so now I’ll get back to work—while waiting for June for our lunch chat

A Review of The Ssum (from the perspective of an MM fan)

Ok, so the first thing I would like to say is:

Please be considerate toward Ssum; it’s an entirely different game from MM, and despite there being similarities, SSum is NOT Mystic!! (but you all know that, surely ^^)

However, I will be comparing things in my rant...because I am one of those Mystic Messenger Fans ;-;

(Also I see some of you all asking Cheritz for more MM content...I get it, I want some more too but...we all have heard that Cheritz has (supposedly) said that updates for content will be sparse or MUCH less frequent

So first things first: Teo.

I’ve already seen people say this, but he’s sort of...bland? In fact, he actually seems like a mild mixture of Zen, 707, and Yoosung. He’s an aspiring film director who likes to game in his spare time, and is helping test developing AIs. After growing up with Mystic, it’s strange to see such a normal character!

The typing speed is extremely slow, and you can’t speed it up.

The only way to speed it up (from what I’ve seen) is to pay $9.99 for fast typing speed. That’s...a lot more than Max Speed in MM.

Here’s some comments I found in Ssum already, lol:

Aside from the MM comments, I see a LOT of people being super baffled about the interface of Ssum. There are a ton of features that MM never had, and for former and present MM fans, it’s very new and confusing.

There’s also the fact that the purchases aren’t made to be a one time purchase. In fact, the packages are SUBSCRIPTIONS. Meaning you have to pay MONTHLY. Some people just cannot afford a subscription (myself included).

This, along with the fact that everything seems overpriced, is making MM fans a bit irritated that they can’t fully enjoy this new game without having to spend money.

Fourth!

Here’s some of my personal opinions on the game!

The interface is really nice! It’s smooth, it’s clean, it’s modern and new :)

The voice acting is really cute and high quality, and I appreciate that.

However, the way that Teo talks with you in the chatrooms and over the phone is a bit strange. It’s a bit sudden, and feels sort of rushed.

I mean, it’s only two chats in and he’s talking about how he feels flushed talking to you!

I also understand the idea of talking to only one person to get to know them, but it is honestly strange to not have a wider option of characters. (Is Cheritz planning on adding more characters? I genuinely do not know)

Also, a little detail, but you can’t pause the phone calls. I understand that you’re simulating a real phone call but what if I’m busy? ;-;

For MM fans, it's definitely not going to overtake Mystic.

It doesn’t have the same “charm”, and I feel like MM fans are just going to hold onto Ssum simply because it’s a Cheritz game.

We do need to keep in mind that Cheritz has spent 4 years creating this game. That’s very commendable (...despite the fact they kept telling people they’d release it, ...only to push it back another few months)

Still, I do know mystic fans want Mystic content to continue rather than have to deal with an entirely new and different game.

MM attachment shouldn’t be carried over as irritation for Ssum. BUT, that irritation is understandable considering MM is what we’ve lived off from Cheritz for a solid 6 years.

My closing thought is that I genuinely believe that people who have never played Mystic will enjoy Ssum! Having a clear slate and not having gotten attached to the former game will definitely allow for hardcore Ssum fans to crop up.

Unfortunately, I know that I’ll always be a die-hard MM fan.

I tried my best to write for every character from Mystic Messenger, even if it was only a question or two, just because there is such a small group of characters! I used the same prompt, and hope everyone enjoys the headcanons!

Jumin

When did you lose your virginity?

Okay, but I think it’s fairly safe to say that Jumin was a virgin when the player character in the game met him. A very sexually frustrated virgin, but a virgin nonetheless. I feel like, given his distrust of people and some heavily implied attempted sexual grooming in his past, made him very reluctant to take the plunge into losing his virginity and it’s only going to happen once he finds someone who accepts and truly cares about him and that he feels safe with.

Rough sex or soft sex?

He’ll honestly want to try both. He does have his kinks and is very dominant sexually, but he’s a very soft dom and even when sex is on the rougher side, it’s never degrading or violent.

Do you have any unusual kinks/fetishes?

I feel like Jumin definitely has a marked interest in the BDSM scene. He’s very sexually dominant, but leans more towards being a very caring, soft dom, with his interests aligning heavily with the ‘bondage’ part of that acronym. I feel like Saeran would be a little uncomfortable sending any sort of even vaguely sexual pictures to his partner and would keep dirty texts to very lightly sexual. Even if he trusts them completely, the idea that someone else might get ahold of their phone and the knowledge of how easy it is to hack into someone’s phone makes him just a bit paranoid that someone else might see those words or images.

No. This is such a hard, hard no for Saeran. Honestly, he has such bad social skills and social anxiety that he never thought he would have even a casual friend, much less a true-blue best friend, and that relationship will mean the world to him. There is nothing in the world that would make him jeopardize such an important thing to him.

Vanderwood

Is there anything you do after sex? (for example, smoke, eat, drink)

Vanderwood does smoke after sex. It’s just a force of habit for him and he does tend to try to take a piss right after sex, just because he remembers reading somewhere that it’s recommended to prevent UTI’s.

Something that will never fail to get you horny?

He’s really auditory. He has really great hearing and things like little moans or purrs of delight, even if they’re completely innocent (for example, letting out a pleased sigh while stretching or a little moan when eating something really delicious), will make his mind go absolutely straight to the gutter.

hey! if your requests are still available i would like to request zen(mystic messenger) with a disabled (either wheelchair crutches or deaf )mc please!!

Zen is a musical actor, so he's definitely not completely clueless when it comes to disabled folks. Musical theaters hold all kinds of charity events in collaboration with rehabilitation centres and charity organizations, so he has quite a bit of experience with interacting with them. That's not to mention that he has definitely interacted with many of his disabled fans and received their lovely letters in the mail! He may not or may not have full on cried the first time one of his disabled fans gifted him a bouquet of flowers and told him how much he inspired them. It was just after one of his first performances ended, and it is definitely something he remembers up to this day.

So, when he learns about your disability, I'd imagine the first thing he'd feel is a huge amount of respect for you. After all, it is thanks to you that the RFA is able to host another party, and he's honestly so inspired by what you managed to achieve, both inside their little organization by making them that much closer to one another, and outside of it with this party. He's also kind of enthusiastic for the future of the RFA! Out of them all, only Yoosung actively volunteered in various organizations who provided services to minorities and people in need, including disabled folks. You will surely help to improve the RFA in terms of what kind of help is more effective than the rest, as it can be hard to know that without having a first hand experience. And they will be there to execute your plans into reality.

Now, when it comes to your relationship with Zen, there will be a lot of things for him to learn, and he's more than willing to listen to you! He will definitely make some mistakes at first, be a bit too overbearing in some aspects and fall onto a couple of stereotypes, but none of it is in bad faith. With some good communication, you two will build your shared life together piece by piece. He learns to listen to you and trust you, and you do the same for him. You know your own body and your limits, and he can trust that you will tell him if you need his assistance. It took him a few trials and errors to learn that you don't need him constantly fretting over you. But, once you two establish a working system of communication between each other, there will be no problems at all with your daily life.

First thing to point out is that Zen is someone that is in a very good physical shape, and he's always giddy to play the knight in shining armor for you, when you're in need of it, of course. If you're using a wheelchair, you'll have no problem with getting around whenever you two go out. Especially during the winter when it can get very difficult to roll over the snowy roads, depending on where you are. He'll offer to push your wheelchair for you, and from then on, it is your call on what to do. He'll have no problems helping you get on a bus, pushing your wheelchair through a badly made road, or if you just want to rest your hands from rolling your wheels yourself. He'll carry you around the house, too, if you need to get to something as soon as possible, and using your wheelchair or crutches is not very effective. Will exercise with you for sure! One of his favorite things to do with his partner is practice self-care, so he will definitely be interested in shared exercises, with you two doing your own individual thing and encouraging each other as you go.

Speaking of his house, it'll get renovated! That, or you two will just move into some place that's more accessible to you. Zen wants you to feel as comfy and independent as you can be, so it's very important for him to learn about all the tiny details of your daily routine, and what needs to be changed in order to make it accessible for you in your shared home.

Getting to know you will definitely make him more passionate about charity work as well. Depending on whether or not you become his manager, he'll start participating in various charity events, both outside of his work and within in. His interactions with his disabled fans will grow even more warm and personal in nature, and he may or may not gain a few new close friends as a result! It also helps to broaden his understanding on the many experiences of disabled folks in society, as everyone has their own individual story to share. Needless to say, Zen gives his all to everything he pursues, and this is no exception to that rule.

It does make him irritated whenever a certain reporter or a misguided fan or two will use insensitive wording in an attempt to describe your relationship. He knows that it is not done out of malice but simply ignorance, but it sure does get on his nerves. Still, he'll approach ignorance with patience and dignity, oftentimes letting you speak your mind on the issue, if you're comfortable with it. Really, it all depends on what kind of person you are. Whether you want to create a platform for yourself, or just live a simple quiet life beside him, he'll be there cheering you on.

Will learn sign language if you're deaf, no doubts about that. I'm sure he knows a bit of it already, since, as I already mentioned, he's no stranger to interacting with disabled folks, but not fluently. Time to change that. It's kind of cute, how he fumbles with some things at first, getting embarrassed once you point our his mistakes. It takes practice. But, he's determined, and you're patient. And, after a few months, you two can interact with one another easy as pie. He's so giddy to be all lovey-dovey with you with no barriers in the way! Will practice his acting with you, since he thinks that you can really help him improve on his body language and facial expressions. Does that mean he will pick out romantic scenes for you two to rehearse? Oh, he's very guilty of that.

Lovely monster

This is a Maasverse post, and as such, there are spoilers for all Maas series. Proceed with caution.

If you’ve read any of my posts, you know how much I love witches. I love that they are present in every world in the Maasverse and I cannot wait for them to play a more central role in acotar, especially if many of us are right and the Archeron sisters are indeed witches. This series builds on the Elain witch theory I posted with @rhyssescups back in 2021, which was inspired by a conversation with friends. It is something I return to often and always felt I had more to say, so I am finally getting around to that now, starting with the concept of witches as lovely monsters. Elain's story is believed to be inspired by the myth of Blodeuwedd, a spring maiden who is transformed into an owl in Welsh mythology. I couldn’t help but notice how owls are linked to goddesses, witches, wisdom, and prophecy in folklore. These are connections I draw repeatedly throughout this series, so it makes sense to start with a discussion on owls and witches.

Owls and witches

Like Elain, owls were believed to have mystical and prophetic powers, and the myths surrounding them were full of contradictions (kind of like the concept of lovely monsters). They were associated with mythical beings and ancient goddesses, who at one point in history, represented a continuum of life and death (life, death, and rebirth). They were feared as bearers of death and admired as otherworldly messengers and solemn protectors. As a symbol linked to Athena, the goddess of wisdom in Greek mythology, they were viewed as a good omen: a sign of victory in battle. Some believed they had an inner light that enabled them to see in the dark (and after years of research, we now know their sight and hearing have been adapted for hunting, giving them excellent precision; some can even hunt on sound alone in complete darkness). They were also viewed as a bad omen: a sign of catastrophe and death. This dark aspect is connected to Lilith, a woman, demon, and goddess in various legends who is linked to witchcraft. In Roman mythology, owls were believed to be transformed witches who drank the blood of infants. Sounds familiar, right?

“What else dwells here other than kelpies?” “Some say witches,” he murmured. “Not the human kind,” he added when she raised a brow. “The kind that used to be something else and then their thirst for magic and power turned them into wretched creatures, banished here by various High Lords.”

“They don’t sound so bad.”

“They drink young blood to fill the coldness the magic left in them.” (acosf)

Like owls, Sarah’s witches are full of contradictions; they are lovely and bloodthirsty. Over the course of this series, we'll even see that they possess similar features and powers. Ironteeth witches in Erilea are no exception:

Legends were still told of the strange and deadly people who dwelt there—the cruel and bloodthirsty descendents of the fallen Witch Kingdom. (com)

Slowly, like lovely wraiths from a hell-realm, the witches appeared. (qos)

Even Crochan witches, who are considered peaceful, are described as beautiful and fierce warriors:

“Do you know how many young women I’ve trapped in this wagon in the past five hundred years?” Yellowlegs’s voice was everywhere and nowhere. “How many Crochan witches I destroyed? They were warriors, too—such talented, beautiful warriors. They tasted like summer grass and cool water.” (com)

Some witch clans appear safer than others; strange and beautiful, like Elain. And they are mistakenly underestimated too.

A blooming flower

“She is no more High Fae than we are,” Devlon countered.

A pause that went on for too long. Even Rhys seemed at a loss for words. Devlon had complained when we’d first met that Amren and I were Other. As if he possessed some sense for such things. Devlon muttered, “Keep her away from the females and children.” I clutched Nesta’s free hand in silent warning to remain quiet.

Mor let out a snort that made the Illyrians stiffen. But she shifted, revealing Elain behind her.

Elain was just blinking, wide-eyed, at the camp. The army.

Devlon let out a grunt at the sight of her. But Elain wrapped her own blue cloak around herself, averting her eyes from all of those towering, muscled warriors, the army camp bustling toward the horizon … She was a rose bloom in a mud field. Filled with galloping horses. (acowar)

After Nesta is accused of being a witch, Mor snorts and moves aside to reveal Elain. This made @rhyssescups and I originally wonder: what truth does the Morrigan know that we (and Devlon) don’t?

Like the ordinary witch glass amulet with hidden depths from Azriel’s bonus, Elain is dismissed as harmless at first glance. She is busy taking in the camp like an owl, blinking and wide-eyed, possibly seeing fates that others do not and averting her gaze. This may be a coincidence, of course, but Elain is also wearing a blue cloak, like the odd Blueblood witches in Erilea who claim the gift of Sight, and perhaps like Prythian priestesses who have their own lethal power and, when in full garb, represent the Voice of the Cauldron. (Sorry, but I have to wonder—does Elain make them purr, too?) Even the phrase rose bloom in a mud field in this scene is reminiscent of the witch curse in Erilea, as @offtorivendell pointed out in this reblog.

Of claws and fangs

We are reminded by Amren, Rhys, and Azriel at different points that Elain has hidden depths. She has toppled even the most powerful creatures in a moment of unexpected precision and violence. Well after the Feysand bonus conversation, Rhys even links Elain to the fearsome creatures of the ancient Valkyries:

“We never heard of them in the human lands,” Elain said. She’d been as riveted as Feyre to hear Cassian tell of it: first of Nesta and the others’ interest, then of the brief history of the female fighters. “They must have been fearsome creatures.”

“Some were as lovely as you, Elain,” Rhys said from beside Feyre, “from the outside. But once they set foot into the arena of battle, they became as bloodthirsty as Amren.” (acosf)

Funny, this also reminds me of when Elain set foot into battle—

Elain stepped out of a shadow behind him, and rammed Truth-Teller to the hilt through the back of the king’s neck as she snarled in his ear, “Don’t you touch my sister.” (acowar)

Is this conversation another reminder of Elain’s other side that we continue to see glimpses of, the side that Rhysand ponders in both acofas and the acosf Feysand bonus? Does this other side have another form, like Amren, who once possessed a deadly, winged body and drank blood? Sarah may have hinted at this possibility in acofas when Elain persistently asked Amren about changing forms.

Witches are, according to Cassian, changed by magic. Their thirst for magic and power turns them into wretched creatures that drink the blood of the young much like Ironteeth witches who prey on the young and vulnerable in Erilea. Their cruel and bloodthirsty behavior was the stuff of legends and the reason Crochans referred to them as monsters. Monsters who were made.

“We pity you, each and every one of you. For what you do to your children. They are not born evil. But you force them to kill and hurt and hate until there is nothing left inside of them—of you. That is why you are here tonight, Manon. Because of the threat you pose to that monster you call grandmother. The threat you posed when you chose mercy and saved your rival’s life.” She gasped for breath, tears flowing unabashedly as she bared her teeth. “They have made you into monsters. Made, Manon. And we feel sorry for you.” (hof)

Cassian specifies that the kind of witches that are exiled to the bog are made rather than born. Are mortal witches, by contrast, born? Do they descend partially from demon (Valg) ancestry like the witches in Erilea? It makes me wonder about Theia’s line, whether it truly crossed with demon blood like @silverlinedeyes and @offtorivendell have theorized, and a trace of it lingered in a human line (i.e., the Archeron line, as @shallyne has also suggested). If the Archerons are descended from Theia, did their rebirth activate ancient witch heritage? Are they witches born and made? Does this explain why a magical cauldron is obsessed with them? 😆

Regardless of whether Elain might have been born or made into a witch, she has another side that is similar to witches. This side resembles (at least figuratively) Ironteeth witches. Unlike the Crochans, Ironteeth witches were more like their demon ancestors and possessed iron teeth and claws that they could call upon when needed. @cassianfanclub pointed out that Elain showed some teeth according to Feyre:

I plopped onto the sofa beside Rhys, lifting his muscular legs to wiggle beneath him. “Elain showed some teeth,” I observed. “I wasn’t expecting that.” (Feysand bonus)

And grew claws:

But Nesta cut her off, seething at the pity about to be thrown her way. “Look who decided to grow claws after all,” she crooned. “Maybe you’ll become interesting at last, Elain.” (acosf)

And like Ironteeth, she slices through throats, making the Cauldron—or is it the Heart of Darkness within the Three-Faced Goddess?—purr.

The Cauldron purred in Elain’s presence as the King of Hybern slumped to his knees, clawing at the knife jutting through his throat. Elain backed away a step. […] The Cauldron seemed to realize what she’d done, too, as his head thumped onto the mossy ground. That Elain … Elain had defended this thief. Elain, who it had gifted with such powers, found her so lovely it had wanted to give her something…It would not harm Elain, even in its hunt to reclaim what had been taken. (acowar)

He noticed the shut door then, drawing in breath to shout. But Manon smiled broader, and a row of dagger-sharp iron teeth pushed from the slits high in her gums, snapping down like armor. The man started, hitting the door behind him again, eyes so wide that white shone all around them. His dagger clattered on the floorboards. And then, just to really make him soil his pants, she flicked her wrists in the air between them. The iron claws shot over her nails in a stinging, gleaming flash. The man began whispering a plea to his soft-hearted gods as Manon let him back toward the lone window. Let him think he stood a chance while she stalked toward him, still smiling. The man didn’t even scream before she ripped out his throat. (hof)

She [Manon] glanced toward the door moments before he heard approaching footsteps. They were silent until the knob turned, revealing Aedion’s frowning face. “Awake and ready to rip out throats, it seems,” the general said by way of greeting. (eos)

Lest you think I am suggesting Elain choose violence, I think it's important to note that Manon, a beautiful witch with a monstrous side, chose peace. She became a child of peace rather than war.

Once upon a time […] there lived a witch

Knowing that the worlds are connected and themes are repeated, we might also be able to look to the Hind for clues about Elain’s future as she tells us a story about a witch who becomes a monster to escape an unwanted marriage. She was once beautiful and kind, living in a cottage:

She began, “Once upon a time, before Luna hunted the heavens and Solas warmed Cthona’s body, before Ogenas blanketed Midgard with water and Urd twined our fates together, there lived a young witch in a cottage deep in the woods. She was beautiful, and kind, and beloved by her mother. Her mother had done her best to raise her, with her only companions being the denizens of the forest itself: birds and beasts and the babbling brooks …”

“She grew older, strong and proud. But a wandering prince passed by her clearing one day when her mother was gone, beheld her beauty, and wanted her desperately to be his bride.”

But she was more interested in a humble life in the forest, and finding real love, than riches or power.

“She had no interest in princes, or in ruling a kingdom, or in any of the jewels he offered. What she wanted was a true heart to love her, to run wild with her through the forest. But the prince would not be denied. He chased her through the wood, his hounds following.”

The prince and his hounds chase her, so the forest helped her shift form to evade them:

“As she ran, she pleaded with the forest she loved so dearly to help her. So it did. First, it transformed her into a deer, so she might be as swift as the wind. But his hounds outraced her, closing in swiftly. Then the forest turned her into a fish, and she fled down one of the mountain streams. But he built a weir at its base to trap her. So she became a bird, a hawk, and soared for the skies. But the prince was a skilled archer, and he fired one of his iron-tipped arrows.”

To save her from death, the forest transformed her into a beast of claws and fangs:

“It struck her breast, and where her blood fell, olive trees sprouted. As her body hit the earth, the forest transformed her one last time …”

“As the witch fell to the earth, the prince’s arrow through her heart, the forest transformed her into a monster of claws and fangs. She ripped the prince and his hounds to shreds.” Her fingers began trailing up his spine. “She remained a monster for a hundred years, roaming the forest, killing all who drew near. A hundred years, so long that she forgot she had once been a witch, had once possessed a home and a forest she loved.”

All feared the creature she became except for one. A warrior who saw not a thing of nightmares, but a creature of beauty. His love turned her back into a witch and they lived a life of peace in her forest:

“But one day, a warrior arrived in the forest. He’d heard of the monster so vicious none could kill it and live. She set out to slaughter him, but when the warrior beheld her, he was not afraid. He stared at her, and she at him, and he wept because he didn’t see a thing of nightmares, but a creature of beauty. He saw her, and he was not afraid of her, and he loved her.” She released a shuddering breath. “His love transformed her back into a witch, melting away all that she’d become. They dwelled in peace in the forest for the rest of their immortal lives.” (hosab)

This story is clearly a metaphor for the Hind (a deer shifter with witch blood who is called a monster for her work with the Asteri), but it made me wonder if it was something she made up or if it is part of witch lore. Is this a bedtime story she was once told? If it’s the latter and these worlds are separated by space and time, as Sarah’s recent interview indicated, then could this story come from another world?

I wonder this because it reminds me of the Archerons, especially Elain: she’s beautiful and kind and spends much of her time in the garden. Contrary to what we were led to believe, she missed their humble cottage in the woods and didn’t seem concerned about finding a match (until they needed protection). Her mother believed she would wed for love and beauty. Greyson, her fiancé, has hounds, her mate’s family is known for possessing magical hounds, and she fought off Hybern’s hounds with her bare feet. It's clear Elain's got a thing with hounds. Is it possible Autumn Court could send their magical hounds after her in her own story? Could the Cauldron have given her something—a seed of power—to evade their clutches? Will it allow her to grow figurative or literal claws and fangs to defeat them on her own? And might we see her temporarily lose herself to that monstrous power or form? Tell me, who doesn’t want to see the calm and sweet gardener go a little feral?

twisted wonderland (and talking about visual novels)

TWISTED WONDERLAND SPOILERS.

and brief mystic messenger mention

okay. so. im getting into twisted wonderland

and. can i just ask. why does the story actually seem cool? also DESIGNS??? WOAHHH.

Maybe I'm biased, I've had the story a bit spoiled to me cause. Okay so I got into Twisted Wonderland because I was reading Katekyou Hitman Reborn! fics, and there's this series filled with Skull being characters from Twisted Wonderland (and other stuff ofc). And I decided, why not, and it seemed so cool (I adore bamf skull), and also. Honestly. My favorite is Riddle Rosehearts. (Also the 'OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!' ability. 1. Ayo CoLLAR ME PLS HAha- 2. I don't know if it gets more extreme but in the fics its been used to kill a bunch of people at once because, y'know, off with your head. The ability seems very cool.)

honestly i have no complaints about the story?? and maybe thats on me because the most experience i have with japanese visual novels is they're all romance games. and i really appreciate it not being that. HELL YEAH. give me my fantasy adventure with disney villains everyday!

i cannot tell you how much i LOVED Ever After High. And then there was Descendants (i think it got so popular that Ever After High got discontinued, which NOOOO)

Anyway I got so obsessed with Descendants. And then I went to a store and there was Descendants stuff and I bought a lot. I don't know why but I even bought like a Mal wig?? I don't even know why, I don't cosplay.

I'm not sure whose related to who and where exactly it fits in the universe (like, for example, if Riddle's related to the queen of hearts or something, no idea), but there's basically these dorms for seven of these like.. villains. Introduction to who they are in the prologue imo is kinda portraying it in a way that you want to be inspired by them? Like, oh, Scar just wanted equality between the Hyenas and the Lions (I think? I haven't watched that movie in so long), and while technically that's kind of true.. I think other stuff happened but I honestly can't remember.

Or like... The. evil queen? I think that's from Snow White's story. Uhh, that she wanted to be the fairest in all the land and was willing to do whatever it takes, which that was something to be admired about. Honestly don't hang on my word if you don't know about the game's story and reading this anyway because I don't remember a lot from the movies.

(ALSO for once not a story where we're assumed to be like, a girl? again, my only experience is those romance games sadly, but oh my god. I've been trying to get back into Mystic Messenger cause I never had the patience for it before, but the

How Hira Changed My Life - DRAMA

At just 29 years old, I was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer.

Sort of the cherry on top of a sundae made Sjogren's.

As the eldest daughter of a lower middle class American family, I was responsible for more than just my education growing up.

While I was an avid writer, reader, dancer, artist, and vocalist, I was never given the same opportunities as my siblings. When they were being totted off to this practice or that recital, I was forced to focus on my homework, and whichever sibling was not old enough to attend.

That's not to say I didn't get to play a sport or join a club here and there, but overall, I was heading down a path of self destruction.

A people pleaser, avidly ignoring all the issues I'd acquired along the way, in pursuit of other's happiness.

There is nothing quite like a near-death experience to make you reevaluate your life.

6 years ago, I beat cancer, or at least, began my journey into remission, where I remain for the time being.

I decided that it was time to put down the dish rag, quit all but one of my three jobs, and get to know myself better. I'd carried the need to be the caretaker in to adulthood, and the effects were devastating.

I set out to write and publish my first full length novel. I'd written plenty before, but I never had the time, energy, or confidence to publish.

In July of 2021, I published my very first novel in a six part series that I am still working on today: Legend of the Sylph, but that wasn't all I wanted to do.

In 2016, I'd started a podcast, during my diagnosis, I'd been forced to focus on my health, and put that podcast on hold.

By 2018, fond memories resurfaced, and I decided it was time to try again. Heiress Anonymous was born as a faceless online artist, with a heart of gold, and a lot of stories to tell. I even included a weekly advice section, and things were going pretty well.

Until my youngest brother took his own life January 2019, 2019.

Being one of only two siblings that I was close to, and only 19, that loss shook the very core of our family, and it nearly defeated me a second time.

Struggling to keep my depression, anxiety, PTSD and bipolar under control, I did the only thing I thought I could do.

I got help.

During my inpatient therapy, I spent a lot of time reflecting on what made me happy, so that when I left that place, I could find something, anything, that made life seem less like wading through the layers of hell, slowly as an ant through tar.

I'd lost so many pieces of myself and I was tired of slapping a bandaid on a gaping wound and telling myself, and everyone else, it was just a scratch.

Dealing with everyone else's needs and desires, while neglecting my own was causing my Sjogren's to flare up more often than it should. My body wasn't cooperating, and my mind, oh that poor fella was more foggy than a black and white film.

Again, I started to do things I was passionate about.

I started with an online game after Duskwood's completion.

Each month, I'd write a new story, and a team of artists would help me develop a location map, clues, and characters for up to 30 people to play. It was the most fun I'd had in a while.

During this time, I was also playing other immersive games.

Mystic Messenger, The Seven Endgame series, and The Sign.

During my playthrough of the Seven series, I happened upon some... rather cancellable translation errors. In a moment of "Please don't cancel the only games I enjoy", I typed up an email to Reality Games, the developers, offering to scan the rest of their games for similar issues.

I was surprised when my wonderful friend Mel emailed me back, offering to let me test and correct The Healing, their upcoming title.

I accepted right away.

Then I had a thought... What if I took the team I'd been working on games with, made an actual game?

Astro Hollow was born. (Hopefully we'll be completed by 2025. It's not easy now that I have such a small team.)

During The Healings production, I asked if there were any unfilled roles. After knowing me for some time. Mel suggested Hira, and the rest is history.

Reality Games Fandom group was started on FB.

There, I met many great fans.

And some not so great fans.

One of them stood out to me. Stefi, who plays Ina.

She came to me as a fan, but we became fast friends. Similar to some of the others. She expressed her desire to become a voice actress, but was hesitant.

I spent weeks, months even, building her up, encouraging her, offering to help coach her lines, etc.

I introduced her to the group, set her up to mod the RG Fandom so she could learn the ropes and get used to fan engagement.

I even invited her to co-host a podcast.

Things seemed to be running smoothly. Until she decided that she was too busy to steam, but with the German meet and great looming, and her insistence that she go, I wholeheartedly understood.

I offered to hold her place on the podcast, until she had more time.

Tongue Tied Games and I had chatted before on reddit. Imagine my surprise at how small the world is, when I found out he played Charlie! We streamed together for the first time about a year ago, and we just clicked.

Preston and I became fast friends as well. (Cedrik - The Sign EN) His sense of humor is the stuff of legends.

I met all sorts of nice people.

Serge definately stands out to me. Such an amazing, witty guy.

I can't say enough good things about the Author's.

Daniel and Tim especially.

I'd forgotten how dark the internet can be, with all the light surrounding me.

I hadn't stopped to think about the fans, and how this could easily turn into an introverts parasocial hellscape.

For months, I tried to be the bigger person.

I ignored the whispers, the rumors, the blatant disrespect, but something happened that made me realize that if I don't stick up for myself, no one else will.

So here I am, explaining how one of the most important turning points in my life, has become the darkest time.

A fan, whom I will not name, and whom I've never had a conversation with, immediately disliked me. For the past 8 months, I've tried and tried and tried to figure out who or what or why this happened. They don't seem to know themselves. But to anyone that would listen, I was "mean". I didn't "value my friendships".

I was so dead set on not disrupting the community I loved, that I didn't speak up.

Ina was one of those people who turned their back on me.

I asked them why they'd take their word over mine, after everything I'd done.

I'd vouched for them, coached them, let them sit with me while I edit, introduced them to the group, supported them, helped them learn and grow, shared with them, both professionally and privately.

I could not fathom this turn of events.

In fact, I had not even considered it as the catalyst for her quitting the podcast.

It wasn't until a very dear friend of mine, nearly took her life, because she was bullied by this very same member (I'd give you there name, but honestly, I suspect there are many many names they go by) that I'd finally had it.

See what I mean?

I'm quick to defend and protect other people, but I'll let others tear me apart before I disrupt the peace.

I reached out to my mods, and let them know what was happening. They were appalled, to say the least. One even tried to mediate, but of course that didn't work out.

There was nothing to mediate.

This was a para social nightmare.

Growing up, being sickly, I'd never found myself beautiful, but in recent years, that has changed.

Health and happiness have made me a better person, physically and mentally.

Imagine my surprise when I was edged out by women who were intimidated by me, in a group that I was part of, long before most of them.

Imagine consitently helping others, and being forced to step back for a few months, only to come back to someone new, determined to make themselves "Queen PICK ME" or some shit.

I truly still do not understand it.

I've tried countless times to figure it out, but in the end, these are people who want to keep someone to themselves.

Who flirt with a stranger online, thinking they know them, but chastise anyone else who dares to do the same.

I'd seen it.

I'd recognized it.

I choose to ignore it.

FFS - I've got someone I care about already. Who in their right mind would intentionally ruin that for someone they've never even met? Someone they don't know? That's just a silly thought to have.

It has to be jealousy....

Do you know how many times I've been told that, and chose to ignore it, because I cannot fathom what there is to be jealous of?

After I shared my story with mods, the universe answered with a call of it's own.

Message after message from others within the community, who'd been wronged by this person.

Who'd felt unwelcome in the community.

Who'd been attacked, bullied even, out of the groups.

I was shattered.

A near death, a dozen victims.

I reached out to the group owners, and cleaned up my own, but no one made a move to correct the behavior.

Is that what being an "influencer" is?

Should I be reaping the benefits without any of the responsibility?

No.

I refuse to let people suffer, because I don't want to speak up.

I was scared, truth be told, because I thought if I just ignored it, it would go away.

By time I realized that wasn't the case, so many other people had been influenced by this person's word.

This person, whom I'd never had a conversation with.

This person, who I'd promoted their "fan art".

This person, who was continually looking for excuses to hate me.

This person, who clearly knows nothing about me.

And yet, this person was going to win.

I haven't said a word in 8 months.

I've blocked and removed myself where ever I can, but this person, these people really, still haunt me.

The horde gets larger every day I stay silent.

The one who said they weren't feeling the podcast, took the name I had for the post finale of Orphans, and the people I had invited, and did their own, but I knew that was happening, and said nothing.

Until someone came to me and asked me, "Weren't you the reason that Stefi joined the cast as Ina?"

I replied yes, and the flood gates opened.

Stefi was a fan.

She came to me as Hira. Said she liked the character.

We started to chat. Became friends.

I encouraged her to email her audition to the team.

I reached out to the team and told them to give her a chance.

I coached her lines from the first few episodes.

I GOT HER THE ROLE AS INA.

She now gives credit to TT.

If you don't believe me, I have the podcasts still up on YouTube, where we talk about it in detail.

At first, I was sure that she was being manipulated.

Part of the reason that I was adamant that she join the team, was who she is as a person.

She's LGBTQ and on the spectrum. It's very important to me, especially after all of my struggles, to make sure that everyone finds something they're passionate about and doesn't let anything hold them back.

For months I thought she was being taken advantage of. Manipulated.

To discover otherwise was absolutely heartbreaking for me.

Imagine how shattered I was, when someone from the German fan meet up, said she's been telling people that since the German Fan Meet and Great in AUGUST 2023.

I feel used.

I'm at a low I'm not sure I can recover from, especially because she continues to say and do things just to get at me.

I've done what I can to block and move on, and I continue to leave communities I cherish, because of these ghosts.

It's like I'm Sandy, but for real this time, and trapped in that damned Orphanage.

Will we share a similar fate?

Will I let devistation consume me?

Have I made the right decisions?

Time will tell.

I'm leaving most names out of this on purpose, but I'm setting the record straight on how Ina came to be part of the community.

I'm so sick and tired of supporting people from behind the curtain, while actively being used as a doormat.

I love working for RG.

This has nothing to do with the company itself.

Cast will be what cast will be.

I love voice acting. I love writing, so even the editing process is fulfilling, but man I still had a lot to learn about how selfish the industry is.

How competitive.

How jealous and manipulative.

Watching people argue over someone they've never met.

Someone they've never seen.

Someone they don't know.

Watching them gatekeep the communities they stay in, running off anyone who isn't an OG.

Kind of defeats the purpose of supporting that creator, when you're driving good people out.

I'm starting to wonder if the internet isn't going to be our downfall.

If we'll ever truly understand the effects of parasocial relationships.

While I love the work I do, and many of the people who follow me, I cannot condone gatekeeping, lying, manipulation, cheating, stealing, copying, and outright bullying.

Stay in your lane.

At the end of the day, you don't know me.

Very few of you do.

You don't know her, him, they, them.

You just don't.

Speaking or acting on the behalf of others, lying about the people who helped get you where you are, no matter how you feel about them, is just plain messed up.

As with everything else in my life, I've learned a lot here.

I don't love parasocial relationships.

They fascinate me, until they piss me off.

Obviously this is NOT all of what occurred here. There are plenty of screenshots, and stories, but the bottom line is that I'm being pushed around, and I'm tired of staying silent. I work too hard, and help too many people, while barely being able to lift my head up to do so.

You can easily turn one of the BEST things that's ever happened to someone, into one of the worst.

The results can be deadly.

Bro Mystic Messenger is the BEST. My only gripe is that it takes 11 days to finish and it's in real time too.

I have a few more questions (sorry if it's a bother).

I know that the MC will be part of a K-pop group, but there are genres within that genre. What will the group be focused on song wise? (Like love songs ect.)

I know this is extremely premature, but do you have any idea of when the demo will be out? (Absolutely no pressure).

I understood your question perfectly, don’t worry. And there is no need to apologize for sounding bothersome! I didn’t find it annoying in any way, shape or form.

Mystic Messenger has multiple endings if I remember correctly, as it depends on your choice. To be honest, if it takes 11 days in real time I likely won’t play it because I am a very impatient person and I prefer speedrunning through games. And then eventually the game comes to an end and there is nothing else to do. But I’m guessing this since I’ve never played it before, so correct me if I’m wrong!

I think I will leave it up to the players! I’m still trying to figure this out too, and there might be love songs, so I really don’t know. If anything there will be a choice to choose.

Nope! I’ve got the barebones of Sugarcube and the very beginning written out, but other than that it’s not ready yet. I have been working on…other things, so that’s why I haven’t touched it in a while. But I promise that the prologue is still fresh in the back of my head! I want it to meet most people’s expectations 😊

Hm, that’s interesting, I’ve never seen any author answer this before. I think for the most part just following my progress really helps! I really want to meet everyone’s expectations for the game and I want to get this WIP out so that it won’t die out like so many others who have interesting concepts but never come to fruition. And giving asks like this since they’re really nice to get :) most have really packed inboxes but mine is usually empty so 😅 but I guess there’s not much to ask anyways.

ST4RDOM is not the only game I have, but it is one of two that I have officially announced so far. I don’t want to throw out new ideas so I’m trying to limit myself to this game and As the Ocean Lures. I hope you understand that the demo won’t be out, at least for a while!

i was planning to start playing arcana (late i know, but i had played once and dropped it some time back bc less coins), but i just wanted to ask, is it still a thing now? like, do people still play this like obm and all? or has it died like mystic messenger (i hope not)?

The Arcana which was originally created and hosted by Nxy Hydra has been bought out by Dorian -

The original "The Arcana" app still exists (for now) but any new content shows up on the Dorian app, which is kinda glitchy and where it's harder to win tokens to unlock premium choices than it was in the original app.

Luckily the routes for all 6 LI have been completed in the original app along with some shorter side stories for all of them.

I'd definitely recommend playing the game/reading the stories in the original app

The Arcana is not as currently active as om! but I don't think the love for it, its stories and characters has died down

And you definitely don't need outside hype to be able to read and love them, there's nothing wrong with getting into something even when others have started to move on

While there's no real order to the routes, I'd recommend finishing the three main LIs routes first (Asra, Nadia & Julian's in any order) because they answer the most questions on the story

Obviously you can play on Dorian too (they've uploaded some new sequels to the good endings of the routes) where you can create your own avatar for MC or upload a picture of MC or create your own dating sim games ig? I dunno much about it tbh so

But yeah definitely get the original app and read the main stories if you have the time

Okay so akdha, I wanted to ramble about this. I tend to think about the past a lot but not particularly the bad memories, I often linger and think about so many things that happened around me when I was younger and how much has changed now.

I really really REALLY miss some emotions that I felt or some things that I can't really do anymore but did back then. Even thinking about it for a while makes me somewhat tear up SJDBSH

But God.. I really really wanna show Saeyoung everything that I remember or even narrate to him about so many things from my childhood. I would end up a crying mess but honestly? I really want to show him how I used to live or even feel back then when everything seemed to be at least brighter.

I have even kept some old stuff/dragon/dinosaur toys/other stuff I used to have during my childhood that I would carry around and have them near me all the time.

I have kept memories of games or even old TV shows that I used to watch whenever they appeared in a kids channel on TV. I could show him so many videos or we could even look it up together and I would ramble about memories I had with them.

I could even watch a video from like 6+ years ago and still feel so nostalgic seeing how the quality of videos where back then. Brings me back to those days and it makes me feel nice, because I know it was posted from when I felt like everything was brighter back then. I feel like I'm a little kid once again. It can be even songs that have a special childhood vibe for me as well or any old song.

One thing I would love to show him is how to make this chocolate milk that I still make to this day and have for breakfast. It's so sweet and just the perfect amount of warmth to make you feel relaxed. It doesn't even take long to make as well. I really wanna see the look of his face as he gives it a try.

I'd even get him to try snacks that we have here in Greece and especially show him around the many places I used to go when I was younger or whenever we had a school trip and I had nice memories. I'd hold his hand and gently drag him to them all, I'd tell him so many stories and my thoughts back then when I used to go there.

I'm very fond of this particular park, actually. It used to have these swings that I would ALWAYS go to but sadly they removed them recently and the park has been pretty much empty now. It used to be full of people back then and it would be so much fun. I'd watch my old classmates and even new kids play with their toys or kick around a soccer ball while I just played with the swing. The little competitive matches they had would always make me watch while I flew up high in the air, holding onto the chains from the swing tightly.

I would probably linger to that park the most, I'd like to walk with him through the whole place. I went there with my ex for our first date so getting to do this with Saeyoung instead would help me heal from those bad memories. Saeyoung has actually been helping me heal a lot from my previous relationship, he makes me feel so safe and happy.

This park and so many other places or even the places I used to go to school.. I wanna show and tell him everything. Tell him how I felt and how nostalgic I feel whenever I think about everything. I'd tell him even the tiniest things, anything I can remember.

And don't even get me started on my grandma's place, especially the beaches we went!! I'm happy to say that I will probably be going there this summer and since I'm into Mystic Messenger now, I can't wait to see what memories I will make this year there. I have years to go there, actually.

I can't wait to show Saeyoung how I used to live there when I went during the many summers when I was a kid. The other kids in the neighborhood don't really come there anymore so I'm basically the only one left but I loved this memory where we all used to play together or even go around the area with our bikes. I will always remember this one moment where EVERYONE was out with their bikes and it was such a beautiful night. I remember being so so happy back then.

And how I can't wait to show him our chickens and especially cats!! We have like.. 10-13 cats there!! And like more than 50 chickens!! We used to have goats and dogs but we don't have them anymore. I'd love to see Saeyoung holding food for the chickens and just walk across the whole field while the chickens chase after him to eat, he'd be the king of them, haha!

For my old memories, I always feel like.. this feeling of warmness, it could be because it was summer and it was sunny and beautiful outside but i think it applies to most of my old memories. I'm not sure how to explain this but it seemed more.. brighter? If that makes sense?

And I wanted to save this for last. I will always remember the first time I saw the Mystic Messenger teaser/trailer back then when it came out and I was at my grandma's. I always thought about how I might see what it was later and years later, I'm obsessed with it and especially a certain redhead. So he is even more special to me and even the whole RFA and everyone else as well. They will always be in my good old memories.

I love how it's an old game and it came out when my life was brighter so getting to experience all the content makes me feel that warmth I felt back then since I'm aware it's an old game. I don't know if this makes sense.^^

I never thought seeing Saeyoung back then for the first time would make me feel so nice whenever I think about it now. The outfit he wears to the trailer will always be a really special one for me. Just him wearing his headphones as he looks surprised at the camera always makes me feel weak.

I definitely have more to say but I think I definitely have said enough. I will also stop here because I feel the tears slowly building up, haha, but I'm just very happy about a lot of my old memories, even if I can't experience them anymore.

If you have read this far, thank you so much and I'm sorry for the so much rambling, I don't know what got over me. I cant stop thinking about my old memories these days, it's way, way more intense now.

I have done this before but I don't mind doing it again! Besides, maybe my tastes have changed a little since the last time I did a list. So here we go! (I'm not going to add Raphael, Thirteen--even though I do love her--and Mephistopheles since I haven't gotten that far in game yet)

Lucifer: He gets my top vote always. Sorry, I can't help it. I am a sucker for any kind of grumpy/serious/sadistic character. Can't stand anyone else but loves you? Gets me every time.

Mammon: This boy has come a long way in my few years of playing Obey Me. I was kinda not into the whole tsundere thing, but the 'I loved you before anyone else did' feeling he gives off has really stuck with me. That and he's just...adorable.

Belphie: I can fix him. Enemies to lovers? Yes please. Plus personally, I feel like I share a lot of personality traits with him, so I relate to him a lot. Sleepy boy who loves the stars is top-tier.

Beel: Big himbo family man, I have to put him near the top. I'm not usually into the athletic types in otome games, but he makes up for that in just pure love and innocence.

Levi: As a gamer and anime lover, I just love Levi in general. I played Mystic Messenger as my first otome game and Yoosung was my first route so nervous and cute video game boys will always have a place in my heart.

Satan: I adore Satan. He's so mature and wise in some aspects and then can pull a full 180 and do anything for cats or cat related things, and even play the most childish of pranks on Lucifer like he's a giddy little kid. Get you a man that can do both.

Simeon: The more I play the game and write about this angel, the more I love him. He's just so wholesome. He loves Luke like a doting mom, teases Lucifer like a little brother, and treats technology like a grandpa. Beautiful character, beautiful man. 10/10.

Diavolo: Himbo #2. I wasn't sure how to feel about him starting out, especially when the whole 'is he really a master manipulator' thing was strong. It might still be going on actually, but I don't care, I see him as just someone who's been sheltered in a castle his whole life and is figuring things alongside everyone else. You know when you have to 'grow up' too fast as a kid and then when you're more of an adult you start doing things to heal your inner child? That's Diavolo. There's a chat in game where all he wants to do is invite everyone to the castle to play hide-and-seek. Need I say more?

Barbatos: A demon butler? Come on. Let's be honest, I never fully left my black butler phase. An extremely powerful demon who spends most of his days making tea and sweets? Amazing.

Asmo: I hate putting him this low on the list, but just as far as character personalities go, I've never been the most into the 'pretty and popular' characters. I think the fandom pulls out the best of his character more than the game does (unless I've just missed some crucial Asmo moments) but he has his tendencies to be super sweet when it counts.

Solomon: I don't hate him, I swear I don't, it's just when I'm forced to make a list, some people are going to be near the bottom! I do love his character though. The mischievous wizard who is also more powerful than some people probably give him credit for. He's great, I want to see more of him.

Luke: My baby, my son, I know he's down here at the bottom, but still my love for him is so great. I don't particularly like children but I will adopt this angel boy. Especially with this last event and he was feeling sleepy, and Lucifer said "now is the time where all good children go to bed" and he fell asleep?? I cry. I will tuck him in.

[Sensitive] Let's Talk RP and Mental Illness

//Hello hello, Saru-mun here to post a lil disclaimer that I felt to be due on my blog for quite some time now.

Let me preface all this by saying that yours truly has past and present long-lived experiences with mental illness, as someone affected directly by it and even indirectly when co-existing with others affected by it. Nothing in this post comes from a place of ignorance, intolerance, or even indifference to it.

I've always been a reserved person when it comes to my personal mental health. Oversharing and "trauma-dumping" have put a stigma on being overly open about these things, and I for one loathe the idea of being labeled as the person "playing the victim card". That said, I'm happy to find that this personal choice of mine does not reflect in my writing and roleplay. I like to write on these topics and explore their intricate and deep thematics like most other people here.

With THAT said as well however, I am also someone who puts a priority on realism before all else.

We live in a very lucky time for mental health awareness. Psychology studies have made leaps and bounds and uncovered, identified and explained many aspects of mental illness that I still remember being completely misunderstood and unheard of when I was a child. I think it is great and am thankful for this progress.

This however is due to the world we live in and the many advancements research has made over the years. This is a factor that I am never unaware of and that I am unwilling to cheapen by pretending it's to be given for granted.

What does it mean exactly? It means that when writing in settings that do not match our present-day progress, I will keep that in mind and have my muses match the emotional intelligence and knowledge that I would expect to be average in the world and universe they live in.

You probably should not expect Cyno the desert-dweller with a degree in elemental studies to know much about things like autism, PTSD, identity disorders or depression. The world he belongs to simply does not reflect that degree of awareness towards these conditions and as such, characters that belong in it should not be expected to understand them like we do in real life.

What should you expect? Ignorance and the mistakes born from it. Expect him to think your muse with executive dysfunction is lazy. To point out smell and filth if they are not able to keep up with their hygiene. Expect him to be confused by things like panic attacks, or to not understand one's deep-rooted anxieties.

In fact, Cyno himself has some degree of mental health problems that he is completely unaware of. And I've made him this way on purpose, because I remember the way I behaved about my own mental illness when I lived in a time where it was poorly understood. I downplayed it to personal flaws of mine that I should overcome.

You should expect this from any of my muses who live in a universe that is not as advanced as our real lifetime. My Mystic Messenger characters for example are more likely to be aware of these issues compared to, say, my Japanese feudal era demon lord character.

Why have I decided to go this route? Because I think mental health is important, and so is its history. I do not like the idea of pretending that the problems surrounding it and our understanding of mental illness never existed. These are stories that truly happened, and I want my readers to remember this, because it is by its mistakes that humankind has learned to be better. I want the ignorance of my muses to be a lesson, and a warning.

With that out of the way, I am making this post because the last thing I want is to make you uncomfortable. You can talk to me OOCly if you're unsure how my muses would respond to these topics as well. I don't like breaking character (or what I perceive to be in-character for my muse anyway), but I am open to discussion and compromise on the language used in my responses if it will help you be comfortable with my portrayal more. A solution can almost always be found.
