got any headcanons for Noodle (also I really love your rule 63 gorillaz they are such gender to me)
Thank youuuuu I love doing stuff with the genderbends, I do think about them all the time so they’ll keep showing up, don’t worry 🫡
Using this as an excuse to talk about her character cuz I’ve experimented with a few different interpretations of her so here’s my current thoughts:
* Idk if this is canon and retconned or fan theory but my personal view of the events of El Mañana is that she wanted to fake her death to get out of the public eye. It subsequently went horribly wrong, but she essentially wanted to disappear. This feeds into my next point:
* I know that initially, her being very young symbolized the now and future of music and pop culture, so she was supposed to be into technology and easily adapting to changing times. However, I think that now that she’s older and has been in the public eye for so long and with the stress and anxiety that comes with it, she wouldn’t want to be online. She wouldn’t be on tik tok, she would be planning her Gone Girl era. I think she’d be caught between wanting to be in the know of what’s going on but being utterly overwhelmed by growing up with little privacy and seeing how women are treated in the industry would not make her want to play into the roles people expect of her.
* She also didn’t get a lot of socialization with kids her age so she was always praised by adults for how smart she was, but now she comes across as blunt and strange to people talking to her outside of a working environment. Part of it is her unusual upbringing, part of it is autism
* She comes across very well in interviews but she’s not quite as good at navigating one-on-one or casual settings. She doesn’t mean to be rude, she’s just usually around a small group of people who know her well and share her strangeness
* She’s the least approachable of the four when it comes to random fan interactions. She’s not mean but she comes across as standoffish and might throw your phone if she says “no pictures” and gets ignored
Other miscellaneous headcanons
* She’s one of those maniacs who deals with menstrual cramps through exercise
* She burps like a truck driver because when she was a kid 2D or Murdoc would respond with “good one”
* She’s not afraid of much because she liked impressing people with feats of strength and showing off that she was brave. If you’re dating her, she’d be the designated bug killer
* She was very energetic and liked roughhousing, which the other 3 tried to keep up with but she would run them ragged. Even now she gets a burst of energy and subjects 2D to shit like
Tumblr media
* She helps Russel if he happens to be cooking but on the rare occasion she does cook, she will not share with anyone
* Despite being small she will take up as much space as she wants. If someone is sitting on the couch with her she will lay her legs across them and hog 3 blankets
* Guys you don’t wanna hear it but she’s not the meme queen you want her to be, she’s not on Tumblr. If she’s doing anything, she’s sharing cat videos between herself and Russel. She doesn’t know gougar. She doesn’t know Vines either. Her humor is dry and deadpan as well. She says something sarcastically and people will take her at face value
* She hates being spoken down to or treated like a child but will quickly pull the “but I’m the baby” card with the other 3 when it’s convenient

Please yap, I want to hear about the non-bio thing about Len
Okay!!! Im not gonna articulate it well so it's gonna be all over the place.
Ive said (too many times) that my hcs of len (and any other vocasynth) is theyre either physical robots or they exist in your 'puter.
At first I almost said "non-human" to mean like its a character thats not born and so doesnt live a human life like go through developmental stages, have parents that theyre born from, have a childhood especially, ET CETERA right, but non-human makes it sound like its furries or monsters so that doesnt make any sense.
Non-biological feels accurate bc there is no BIRTH and no developmental stages, no lived experiences/past experiences, and basically, i want the character to exist in a void!! No ties, no meaningful connections.
Tumblr media
A little bit off tangent... I've had my old fursona (oldest oc) in my head for the longest time and theyre supposed to be one of these characters that Do Not Exist like theyre not a "person" who goes through life and experiences, theyre an entity that... exists in...SOME way, and I was never able to convey that idea UNTIL like last year, after experimenting for a long time with len hcs where hes a digital being, it kinda clicked. This non-existing character type that I've been wanting to convey can be well translated as a digital being or like a computer program. I think i want to say this character type is entirely intangible, like computer programs, so they "dont exist"...but you wouldn't say a computer program is "not real" right, like um WHERE AM I GOING.
Anyways HAVE YOU EVER seen that tumblr post (i think) about hatsune miku, gorillaz, and the muppets being not real but also... real... bc they exist in the real world and we talk about them *Vsauce music* or SOMETHING like that...
Where am i going now ah. The kagami-ne mirror images thing is so good because to me there is no way this makes sense if i think of them as flesh and blood people like DA HELL you mean theyre mirror images, the concept simply does not work. Like look i assume people who hc rin and len as twins hc them as 'people' because---
((context i made a tweet a while ago, i said : "I lean more on the mirror images interpretation than twins like siblings." "In my hc theyre not people so theyre not ""siblings"" bc you'd have to be born for that?? Theyre probably more like clones but also not BIOLOGICALLY bc theyre either robots/digital beings like i always say." ---
because twins suggest biology. Like they were fetuses in a womb together, man where am i going again.
The mirror images thing is really cool when theyre thought of as just ENTITIES. Just person-like beings that are just copy pasted like no further or deeper explanations. Theyre simply not real!!!!
- - -
After yapping I realized it all comes down full circle to my escapist ass not wanting anything connected to the real world. Like the way i draw len or my human ocs, theyre only supposed to resemble humans, they should not look "real" as in look like they could be someone who you could spot when you leave your house or something.

i love making aus for my favourite things and while i will definitely get to sharing all my many random-but-somehow-work-super-well-aus, ive been thinking about this actors! gorillaz au and holy shitttt man it works so well for so many reasons but especially since an au where the gorillaz members are all actors that just keep working together and the albums are actually projects 1) fits each of their characters really well and 2) each of the albums are so cinematic they could all be movies or tv shows like
CELEBRITY TAKEDOWN: a 2001 dark comedy sit com about a shitty band of nobodies trying to be something while also criticizing society and the music industry. runs for 3 seasons and was a much bigger success than anyone expected. think gorillaz bites from phase 1 type of vibe but with more angst and more content.
DEMON DAYS: a 2005 movie about 4 strangers in a post apocalyptic society trying to survive a trip across the country together and finding new reasons to do so. super strong angsty atmosphere with interesting and well developed characters and action scenes to leave any viewer in awe, even if they got sick of all the green after a while. was an immense success and put our 4 actors on the map even more than ct did, considered to be one of the best films of the decade.
WELCOME TO PLASTIC BEACH: a 2010 movie about two musicians and a dead robot recreation of their dead daughter/sister are stuck on an island made of plastic and need to make the album of the century while also avoiding killer angry pirates, strange whales, gun malfunctions, isolation, and the physical depiction of death itself. all the while, the dead daughter/sister and a missing friend try to find their way to the others despite all the things listed above. it would be a colourful and beautiful shot yet zaney film that wouldn’t reach nearly as much attention as it deserves upon release
WE ARE STILL HUMANZ: a 2017 movie focusing on the lives of 12 people at a club at the end of teh world, showing a glimpse of each of their lives and humanity before the end times. stuart, murdoc, noodle, and russel are 4 of those 12! the movie is political and has stunning lighting and is filled with great music, plus was the comeback film for miss noodle who took a break from acting in her 20s, but the lack of focus character wise meant it wasn’t as big of a success as hoped. many talk about how it should’ve been a miniseries but the movie still works very well regardless.
THE NOW NOW - a 2018 movie about a man dragging his 3 best friends in a spontaneous usa road trip after 1) cutting ties with a significant person in his life and 2) realizing he’s getting older and lonelier and wanting to avoid it all costs. it’s a quieter film with big emotions and stellar writing all about the hurt that comes from missing someone against your own will and reflection and all that. while also not a major hit, it’s a comfort favourite by many who enjoy crying. only thing here murdoc wasn’t involved with because he was busy being hollywood’s biggest bad boy in Jail.
SONG MACHINE: STRANGE TIMEZ: a 2020 anthology sci fi tv series where each season tackles a new set of characters and a new set of problems. this first season was all about chaos, forgiveness, and coping through time/space traveling portals and space cars. though the pandemic made some things very difficult during production, it was considered to be a super fun project for all people involved and is a very fun a lighthearted watch for many who needed it during that year
CRACKER ISLAND: a campy 2022 movie about cults and cult mentality in the modern age through hollywood and comedy. some rich fucker tries to impress a mysterious lady next door with fake cult stuff but she took an interest in his strange roommate instead. the problem is her interest is a bit bigger than any of them thought and through investigation they realize she is like a legitimate cult leader and try to stop her. it’s dumb fun with great vibes and cinematography.
like?? i’d watch all of these?? do you see the VISION?????????

what if... Gorillaz at their most worst in which phase album-wise ((from what Ive thought about!!!))
Murdoc – Wish You Wear Ear (Song Machine, Season One: Strange Timez), originally I was gonna go for Plastic Beach but that album was already the point of where the band was at their lowest.. it's a tad tricky but Song Machine had Murdoc acting up unusual from his character, youve seen that man crawl up into a ball and cry which was from the assumption of him thinking the band left him for good, to him going absurd over portals in Kong...
If all honestly Song Machine was him being at his most strangest timez (get it..? strange... timez, heehe), I would've said for him he was at the absolute worst during his childhood if only it was composed into an album, wouldn't really want that though.. Broken was already sad enough to hear coming from him :c
Noodle – Escape To Plastic Beach (Plastic Beach), phase 3 was definitely something huge for Gorillaz that I would've just about put Plastic Beach for almost everyone in the band, for the most part though, Noodle had definitely went through a tad too much during Plastic Beach... know that Noodle is pretty as chaotic as Murdoc is but in a good way unlike Murdoc
Though in Plastic Beach.. see the lore behind the whole phase is already huge enough, but as for being separated and taken away from the people you were supposed to be with, accidentally releasing a demon that you then had to hunt down by yourself, only to then having to deal with a cyborg version of yourself that tried to attack someone close that you know aka. the exact person who built that cyborg replica of you....
Easily you can get a lot of things wrong in the lore of Plastic Beach, but there's no doubt that Noodle had a pretty big experience in Plastic Beach than the rest of the phases, if none other, a really huge impact on her too!!
2-Dee – No More Unicorns Anymore (The Now Now), alright this one is definitely obvious, never have I heard 2D sound this sad in an entire album, add on with the fact that The Now Now was entirely written by him is just heartbreaking :C
To summarise, you basically had Murdoc being thrown in jail for drugs far far away from the rest of the band, and so without Murdoc, you have the first track in The Now Now, which is Humility, upon from the music video a lot of people gotten the thought that 2D was happy because Murdoc was in jail... now see, that would've been the case, if ONLY the rest of the WHOLE album hadn't had the saddest songs you've ever gotten out of Gorillaz, andd cause of that, I've gotten the thought that Humility was 2D just having some time by himself free of charge with the rest without Murdoc because he had the thinking of "He'll be back soon" only to realise that later on it'll be a lot more longer than just soon, I have no evidence of this so it's only up to my assumption, but MIGHTY is the rest of the songs just... really real sad..
((three sections of out of topic talk about the songs in The Now Now below))
One of the songs I heard before listening to the whole album was Souk Eye, and that was the end track of the album according to the listing, I thought it was already the saddest song or at least the most heart inducing song ever made from Gorillaz, and you just never really expected these songs to come out of Gorillaz... so, that was for Souk Eye, UNTIL I for once heard the rest of the album
I HAD NEVER SEEN ANYBODY, EVER TALKED ABOUT, FIRE FLIES.
This was a song I REALLY REALLY least expected over the name of the song itself, and IT REALLY, REALLY MAKES MY HEART JUST..... FEEL WAY TOO MUCH, that's not even the only song, in fact the rest of the album has it's songs in this really... really heavy, heartfelt, heartbreaking impact, but bet on me that Fire Flies is ultimately the song that had gotten me feeling the most from the entire album, to the point it made Souk Eye look happier than a song named FIRE FLIES...
If all, Humility really felt like a break for the least expected only to be hit right in the face right after that, from how I perceive the album along with through it's lyrics, it showcases just how 2D has been feeling through for however long he had been all while Murdoc wasn't around, and these songs just show that 2D really wasn't doing well..
From the track listing, The Now Now seemed like it was... this will sound insane but representing the five stages of grief for 2D, youve already gotten denial from the start, onto the rest which in some was pretty hard to tell that you might have to feel it through the song in order to tell it's there, for such like you could probably tell there's bargaining in Kansas, then you have anger in Sorcererz which isn't necessarily supposed to be an outrage in order to know that it's anger, and then there's some songs that sort of feel more to the type of thinking back to the past like memories, those being like Idaho and Magic City... and boy did the depression stage really kick in, Fire Flies and One Percent just really touches your heart in the worst way possible, especially with the fact it's coming from our boy 2D it makes it even more worst.....
This is why I said Souk Eye sounded a lot more happier, as to it's like the very ending which leads to the last stage of grief, didn't really know what happened after The Now Now like right after Murdoc got back to the band, but Souk Eye does still touch your heart, except it's a lot more comforting than the previous two songs you've heard, no doubt it's still really sad though.. but it's also just really warming too, the songs in the album itself really just explains how this phase was the worst for 2D to had ever been
Russel – Celebrity Take Down (Gorillaz), this one's a really tough one, again could've said for Plastic Beach as all that happened to Russ was that he tried to off himself only to mutate into a huge godzilla size of himself, though in the first album.. well before the album itself, Russel wouldnt have gotten any chances to be in the band if only he wasn't kidnapped by Murdoc himself, just as bad as how 2D joined the band
Though that might not count, in the debut studio album Russel was first introduced with a ghostly friend possessing him which lasted until or before Demon Days came in, even when it didn't really seemed that bad while Dell was around taking over Russel's mind, it was definitely the most interesting version of Russel since other than the first album, you kind of have Russel not really taking in the worst in the other phases, really didn't really got anything from Russel out of Cracker Island since he was just hypnotised by a television static for the entire album
know that I haven't covered everything that was made or confirmed by Gorillaz!!! So far I'm only giving my thoughts based on the albums I've listened to, so I may not be too keen on the entire lore of Gorillaz, neither do I know much about the books too!! c:

Tumblr media
A ctivities - What do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?
he just likes to sit and have you there in the background
he literally wont even talk to you, you just need be there
yall dont go out much together (i mean look at this cockroach of a man fr)
when you guys hang out the most it's usually at his place in your pjs just sitting and working in silence
sometimes you'll find his arm draped around your shoulder tho
and y'all definitely listen to music as you work and he builds a PC or something
B eauty - What do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?
he loves you
hecc yeah he does
he just like... doesnt admit it all the time
he will secretly admire you from afar
and stare at your thighs respectfully
he thinks you're really hot
like REALLY HOT
he just wont say that out loud of course
he also admires that you're a strong independent person who can tell him where to shove it
thinks its hot when you're telling him or other people what to do
C omfort - How would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack etc.?
stares at you while you're crying on your bed
walks out
man dont know how to comfort are you for real??!
like he will tell you to get over it and then reluctantly pull you in for a hug
then he'll just sit next to you and pop an earbud in your ear and listen to Gorillaz while you're pressed against him
he cares, he's just bad at emotions fr
D reams - How do they picture their future with their s/o?
marriage.
marriage or nothin
no kids tho
he just wants to be the hot married couple
E qual - Are they the dominant one in the relationship, or rather passive?
he likes to think he's dominant when yall are just on equal footing
he'll try to tell you what to do and you'll just sit there and slow blink before tilting your head and going... "really?"
but he does the same to you, so yall do your own thing while being equal and happy
F ight - Would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?
fighting with Tomoyasu would last DAYS
LIKE WEEKS EVEN
he just likes to pick fights tbh
he'll complain about little things and y'all will be crossing your arms at each other for weeks but still holding each other at night
they're never bad, just nit picky bullshit
you both end up just forgetting about it and go on with normal life
your'e never really mad at each other just cranky. married couples cant be in the honeymoon phase forever
G ratitude - How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?
he cares a lot about you and knows that you care a lot about him
he always has that why do they love me mindset whenever he looks at himself for too long in the mirror
he knows that you love him because even though he looks like a cockroach that just crawled out of your sink drain, you still press yourself against him and take him on dates and make him feel... worthy of love tbh and no one has ever made him feel that way
he will never admit this to you tho because he doesnt want to show you how cheesy he is
he will show you through a hug every blue moon and a cuddle every night
H onesty - Do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?
he shares everything, but he just doesnt hide anything
it's not like he's trying to hide anything from you, if what he needs to say comes along in a convo, he'll tell you
he just doesnt care to hide anything, but wont spill his whole life on you
if you didnt know about it it's because it was never brought up in conversation
I nspiration - Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?
he finds himself smiling more and taking to more people
like he became a little less introverted since you met him
he hates it but you love it
you actually came to love staying at home more because you get to spend that time with him, so you never feel like you constantly have to be out and about to be happy
J ealousy - Do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?
yes
you're a very friendly person so if he sees you bring a little too friendly with someone, he will walk over to you, wrap his arm around your shoulders and dead stare that person in the eyes
then he'll complain about it later blaming how pretty you are and then a stupid argument ensues that ends with kisses and cuddles ;)
K iss - Are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?
sdfjhrguheviufhuhfjdsgerhwieojfsdkfjkrjtwiorj
DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED
this man's kisses would be like silk
like omg he's gorgeous
he would pull you in slowly and place his lips on yours softly turning into the hottest make out session in the world
AWOOOOGA
the first kiss: you kissed him
you just pecked him on the lips and he pulled you closer, asked if that's all you got and then y'all were kissin night
wish that were me frfr
L ove Confession - How would they confess to their s/o?
he just told you
better to just say something
you were just walking on your college campus when he was like "i want to date you"
simple
easy
thank god it was fast because you wanted to tell him that for weeks, but didnt know how to say it
what a savior
M arriage - Do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?
YES
as stated before lol
he would walk up to you, hand you the ring box and just sit and wait
you look up at him confused when you open the box and he eyes you, waiting for a response.
"tomo... what is this?"
"marriage. you wanted it, didnt you?"
"oh!" you laughed, slipping on the black ring and looking it over. "of course i will!"
you're wedding would be during fall and it would be all black. black clothes, black tables, black flowers, etc. it would be awesome
N icknames - What do they call their s/o?
darling
doll
dear
love
O n Cloud Nine - What are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious for others? How do they express their feelings?
he just stares at you
a lot
it's hard for him to say his feelings in words so instead he just stares at you
would hold your hand more often when he is really feeling in love with you
it is not obvious for others
the entire MLA has no idea that he has been married for over six years
it's just a run on joke at this point
P DA - Are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?
NO NO NO NO NO
he hates PDA with a passion
the most he will do is hold your hand or kiss you on the forehead, but he hates is so so much
i mean, if he's feeling jealous, he will purposely get handsy with you in front of other people to show that you're in a relationship, but other than that he doesnt want your lips touching his while you're out
that's for home and for home only
Q uirk - Some random ability they have that's beneficial in a relationship.
really good at cuddling somehow
also just makes you feel pretty and loved without him having to say anything
and back to those 400/10 kisses
R omance - How romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliché or rather creative?
you mostly have at home dates just sitting together and cuddling because he wants his hands on you and he cant do that in public
but if you do go out, he takes you to some fancy shit
nice resteraunts
like 5 star shit
expensive man
and yall always dress up as the power couple you are
S upport - Are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?
yeah, but in secret
he doesnt need to be up your ass when you're working on stuff, but he will definitely be supportive of your dreams
he knows you can do it by yourself tho so you're all good
T hrill - Do they need to try out new things to spice out your relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?
this man NEEDS a routine
none of that try new stuff shit
he needs to wake up and do his morning routine with you in the bathroom with him doing yours
he needs you both to head out to work at the same time with a kiss goodbye
he needs at home dates and occasional dinner dates
maybe a walk every now and again and a run every other day, but really, nothing changes all that much in his routine, only for trips, which are rare
U nderstanding - How good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?
he knows you like the back of his hand
he may not be good with emotions, but that doesnt mean he automatically doesnt know what you're going through
he knows what makes you sad and what doesnt
he knows when you need to be left alone
he knows you well enough to take a break every now and again
and he knows when you just need a hug
he loves you, he just doesnt vocalize it
V alue - How important is the relationship to them? What is it’s worth in comparison to other things in their life?
he could not live without you
breaking up with you would be a crime
he needs you
like literally NEEDS you
it's in his routine that you're there and without you... he would be nothing
you make him feel like he's worth life and he didnt realize how much he needed that until he met you
W ild Card - A random Fluff Headcanon.
he loves taking you on midnight drives in his nice car when neither of you can sleep
he also loves pressing kisses all over your face when you're asleep and dont notice
X OXO - Are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?
oh very much so
but tell anyone that and you're dead
he loves the feeling of his body pressed against yours
he literally purrs like a cat when y'all cuddle
and he's really good at cuddling
but you dont say any of this because you dont want him to stop
Y earning - How will they cope when they're missing their partner?
he just gets really stressed out
a huge part of his routine is missing so he is lost for the first part of his day if you arent there
its also too quiet for his liking
he likes hearing you complain that there's no more milk in the fridge and that you have to go to the store or get on his ass for not doing the dishes, but if you arent there, it's dead quiet and he's not a fan
Z eal - Are they willing to go to great lenghts for the relationship? If so, what kind of?
he wants to keep you.
he would do anything to keep you in his life.

Louis Tomlinson is revelling in the feeling of hitting No.1 as a solo artist for the first time.
As the Doncaster singer and his team told Music Week in our cover feature, Faith In The Future was a painstaking process, with Tomlinson poring over every detail. He was obsessed with the physical product and the connection he hoped it would have with his devoted fanbase.
Faith In The Future, the star's first album for BMG, debuted at No.1 on consumption of 35,239 units (14,944 CDs, 9,577 vinyl albums, 1,501 cassettes, 6,790 digital downloads and 2,427 sales-equivalent streams).
Tomlinson’s debut solo album, Walls, debuted and peaked at No.4 on first week sales of 14,729 in February 2020, and has since gone on to achieve consumption of 72,329 units. Faith In The Future, then, sold more than double its week one total.
“I like anything that's tied to a physical release because that's what I grew up with,” Tomlinson told Music Week. “It's nice to have something to hold and we put cool little inserts [into the records].”
Here, in a previously unseen extract from our interview, we look into the future with Tomlinson and talk, success, perception and his Away From Home festival What are your biggest dreams and ambitions that Faith In The Future is out in the world?
“To keep growing the festival would be great. The next target will be next year, maybe the year after. I'd love to do it over two days. And I'd love to play on the Sunday, because that will give me a really clear indication of whether it can live outside of the context of myself. Because in an ideal world, if I can keep growing this festival, one day, I won't play it and we could still put it on and that will be really cool.”
Are there any artists you look to in terms of careers you'd want to emulate?
“It's hard to think like that... I don't really compare myself to others. Look, the most important thing for me is that I can keep making the music I love and touring it to the extent I have been. So, in terms of what a dream might be, if I can still be touring in 10 years, I'll be buzzing.”
Faith In The Future sounds in parts like a record made by a band rather than a solo act. Have you ever thought about doing something like that, rather than under your own name?
“Definitely, yeah, and it's a good point. Around halfway through making Walls, I had a conversation with my manager at the time, because I [was thinking about] a number of things, the sessions I was going into and the natural perception and judgement around coming out of a band like One Direction... I had this plan in my mind that was, not quite like a Gorillaz kind of vibe, but something where I could hide who I am, and maybe people like the song first, and then be surprised that it's me. I definitely went through that process in my head. I mean, I might still do it one day, I do like the idea.”
Where did that idea come from?
“From the fact that I felt frustrated about the perception and the judgement I'm always going to be up against. I understand that I've lived long enough now, that's why I have to play the long game, but it’s about chipping away at this idea of me as a solo artist and someone coming out of a band.”
How do you feel about where you’re at in life now?
“Where I'm quite lucky in my life is that my job keeps me feeling forever like I'm 18, it just has that way about it. We're always moving about. But when I go and spend my personal time with my son in LA, it gives me... That's when I feel, you know, like a responsible 30-year-old. I put my Dad hat on and I'm almost taking on a slightly different version of myself, because that's what's required as a parent.”

Eren
Kinda gives XXXTTENTACION vibes?? Also Lil Peep
Used to love the song Crisis by Jasiah and obnoxiously sang it, or played it really loud when he got the Aux cord in ANYONES car. Got to the point that everyone despised him for it.
I feel like he listened to a mix of Deftones type music and also a little bit of rap?
Listened to Can You Feel My Heart when he was 15. A lot.
I can see him liking Fall Out Boy as well, especially when he was a young teen, and might have even liked a little bit of Twenty One Pilots.
BIGGEST MCR FAN THERE IS. like. He's OBSESSED. Specifically likes Dead!
Armin
LOVVESSS the Cults, specifically Always Forever
Probably also liked harry styles
Seems like the type to gatekeeper music, but is like veryyyy passive aggressive about it.
I can see him liking Tyler, The Creator, but specific songs, Like GONE, GONE / THANK YOU
TV Girl. specifically Not Allowed and Lovers Rock
Eyedress, and he loves to listen to there music during summer, he feels like it has such a nice summer vibe.
Probably walks through the streets by himself with headphones on, and just listens to music and walks for hours.
He almost seems like the type of person to constantly have an earbud in, but at the same time he really enjoys spending time with friends, and finds it very valuable.
Mikasa
All The Things She Said, Bang Bang Bang Bang, Crazy Girls
Loves t.A.T.u and Sohodolls
A little bit of Ariana Grande, but its like a guilty pleasure for her, and the only one who knows is Sasha
Also Likes Doja Cat and Billie Eilish

Jean
Cigarettes after sex for sureeeee
Probably cries to music. Frequently.

Probably scream sings Brutal and Good 4 u by Olivia Rodrigo
Probably listens to a little rap, and WOULD start a fight over Eminem being the best Rapper
Also gives Tyler, The Creator vibes and Juice WRLD vibes
When hes drunk or realllyyy in the mood he might aggressively sing Lady Gaga
Probably has multiple playlists instead of just one, each for a different mood or activity, and loves to make recommendation playlists for his friends
Totally gives Cage The Elephant Vibes
Connie

Odetari, Specifically GOOD LOYAL THOTS and LOOK DON’T TOUCH
Probably liked Cochise for a while, specifically Tell Em
Isn’t one to listen to sad music.
If people recommend songs he either forgets the name, or just forgets to listen to it because he gets so focused on his own music.
I actually think he probably rarely listens to music, and kind of just listens to whatever his friends may play, or whatever is on tik tok.
Definitely listens to tik tok edit audios and pretends he’s in an edit
Also loves the Gorillaz
MOTHER MOTHER IS HIS FAVOURITE BAND.

Has a really long playlist because she puts entire albums onto it, and if she doesn't like the song she just skips it.
Reiner
Probably unironically likes Can You Feel My Heart
His guilty pleasure is Beach Bunny
Reiner (Season 1) probably listened to FNAF music but didn’t realise it was FNAF music until Armin told him, and was super embarrassed about it. Has never listened to any of those songs again.

When he's alone, a LOVES to dance to music
Probably listened to the song The Perfect Girl by Mareux
I can see him fan boying over The Neighborhood, and knows every word to all of their songs.

Lots of classical. He will stay up all night to listen to music. At first it starts soft, Moonlight Sonata and Fur Elise, and then later in the night he starts to listen to some more loud aggressive stuff, like Dies Irae.
Likes aggressive Jazz. Sakuran by Sheena Ringo and Take 5 by Dave Brubeck
I don’t think hes one to avidly listen to music. Its rare, and when he does its the middle of the night, and hes sipping tea, swaying back and forth to the music a bit. Hes always alone.
No one has ever caught him listening to music.
HE CANNOT STAND COUNTRY. DESPISES IT.
Loud music. Not because hes deaf, but because he likes to feel completely surrounded by it.
Has GREAT speakers. Invests in good quality music playing things.
Erwin
Country. Luke Combs, Zac Brown Band.
Loves Chicken Fried and Fishing In The Dark
Chris Stapleton is his FAVOURITE.
He's the kind of person who always has the radio playing, whether it's from a google, his truck, or his phone. He loves the radio.
Listens to it very quietly. It's like background noise. Somehow still knows all the words?
Plays Tennessee Whiskey over and over again.
NEVER lets anyone touch his music, his radio, his phone. NEVER. He's in the feels.
Hange
Machine Girl, specifically Uzumaki. Just because it's different and she likes it.
Suki Suki Daisuki By Jun Togawa
City Pop, Mayonaka no Door/Stay with me, and 4:00A.M.
Also likes Sakuran By Sheena Ringo, Levi was the one who showed it to her.
Just a very big fan of japanese music, especially older stuff, loves how it sounds.
Definitely drives around listening to music in the middle of the night.
Funnily enough, Levi doesn't mind the old japanese music, but he HATES Machine girl. A lot.

Not sure if this will make sense, but feel like, in a way '2doc' of all things carries the gorillaz lore phase 4 and onwards for me.
Not because I particularly like or ship 2doc, because it's a pretty toxic unhealthy relationship, what with Murdoc smacking 2D a good couple times, and 2D consistently losing his agency. But I think they both know it is, or at least was, an uncomfortably imbalanced, draining dynamic, especially in a lot of lyrics Murdoc and 2D respectively have written in phase 3 and phase 5, and it’s something I wish they’d confirm and do more with in a nuanced way, cause it’s fascinating. And I feel like otherwise the phase stories/ lore has been a bit underwhelming.
From what I can tell, the subtext of these two started out as just poorly aged gay jokes of the 2000s. But even now, it feels like they just leave the state of this ‘relationship’ stagnant. It seems like Gorillaz has to keep the humour of the ‘will they won’t they’ going and never confirmed, so as to not bother some of their audience. It’s annoying; it feels like gay jokes, but repurposed so instead of for comedy, it’s pandering with snippets to the people who still like 2doc without needing to do anything of substance.
I still have a lot of appreciation for Gorillaz and the music, but I’m not attached to the overarching stories phase 4 to current, and it just doesn’t seem meaningful in the character writing area anymore. The only ghost of the character writing I can sense is from 2D and Murdoc’s on and off subtext, but only because I keep assuming it’s going to get focused on like how 2Ds internal journey was focused on in phase 5 while Murdoc was in jail, but it never happens.
Murdoc as a cult leader feels like he’s falling into old patterns of justifying his life with an important role, kind of like plastic beach. And I keep thinking 2D is going to fight him on it, because once again the power imbalance is in place and this time 2D is healthier and smarter and can collect his thoughts about Murdoc, so it’s gonna be different this time. But the ideas of the characters in the lyrics feels more meaningful than the characters as presented in the animations and interviews, which is a shame.
I wish we could get more smaller stories focused on altogether really, I think the character drama is what has me the most invested in Gorillaz as a whole since it helps me suspend my disbelief about them being real, but the only way I can imagine that coming back any time soon in a big way, is through the unelaborated weird dynamic between these two.

Gorillaz lore, told a little differently.
Tumblr media
part one - D-DAY
content warnings: graphic description of violence, satanism mentioned, blood.
summary: august 15th, 1997. d-day. murdoc and 2D's first interaction.
Sat on the couch of his fathers sweet, sickly sweet, humble abode was Murdoc Niccals, after being forced for many years of his childhood to be on stage, his passion (or at least the only thing he really knew how to do) had become music.
After signing a deal with Satan, from a ‘Satanism: For Beginners’ kit off his brother, Murdoc had received a red silky coloured bass guitar, appropriately named ‘El Diablo’ and a lengthy, chunky upside down cross necklace. The deal? Create a band to take the entire world by storm. No need for any other words, Murdoc knew this was his fate, what he wanted. What he needed. And surely, it would make his father proud. Or at least a tad bit sweeter.
Once he’d signed this deal however, the plan didn’t go as smoothly as first suspected. Murdoc had tried many times to hit the ground running. He made bands such as ‘Patchouli Clark’ which out of them all seemed to be the biggest fail. Not one audience member in pub gigs. Others like ‘Kiss N Makeup’, ‘Bullworker’ and ‘The Stupid Name Gang’ were more popular by three or four people, including bartenders, yet all failed due to the lack of listeners (or patience for his bandmates). This had Murdoc wondering. What about his band made them fail so hard?
Murdoc soon came to a conclusion that perhaps it was his fault. His high-pitched, screeching was less appealing than when he was a child, it was the era of pop and punk after all. Not black and heavy metal.
Throwing a small handmade ball of rubber bands up and down, Murdoc decided he needed to take action. Instead of being the bassist and vocalist, he could just be one, and since El Diablo had been gifted to him by his almighty superior, he came to the decision of letting another become the frontman, although he would still be band leader, of course.
Grabbing the keys of his 1985 Vauxhall Astra, Murdoc ran out the front door, carefully closing it so as to not make so much of a noise to alert his sleeping relatives. This all was for nothing, as after he had practically jumped into the driver's seat of the car, slammed the door and started it up, pressing his foot all the way to the floor. With 14 years of driving experience, Murdoc narrowly avoided curbs on his cornerings and was never really caught out with speeding. Probably due to the fact he’d been in trouble for DUI’s when he was instead.
Turning the corner into a small retail park, Murdoc didn’t slow down, yet only sent his car flying through the side window of ‘Uncle Norm’s Organ Emporium’. The sound of shattering glass filled Murdoc’s ears, leaving the man to pull his hands back from the steering wheel and scrunch up his face, bracing for impact. The car came to a sudden stop, front lifted off the ground. Murdoc reluctantly opened his eyes, looking as he silently celebrated the success of his placement, rudely interrupted by his airbag hitting him in the face, cracking his already weirdly shaped nose.
‘Bit delayed’, he thought, opening his door and swinging his legs out. When he looked down at his feet, a gorey sight was there waiting. Murdoc felt a bit of vomit come up to his chest as he gagged. A young man with half blue, half red hair was below him, one eye closed yet one he couldn’t figure out whether it was blackened or he had no eyeballs at all. Another man, who looked to be the manager, rushed up to the man on the floor, sitting him up and shaking him.
“Stuart?” The manager spoke through a panicked tone, looking up at Murdoc who was frozen in his spot. He’d never even knocked someone out before, let alone kill a person!
When Murdoc realised that everyone had been staring at him, he hopped out of the seat, only to be alerted by the sound of the front door of the shop slamming open, police officers yelling at him to put his hands up before running toward his and pushing Murdoc up against the cold metal of the car. From where he was, he could see the blood splat on the corner of his car light.
‘Bullseye.’ The man disgustingly thought before he was being shoved out of the shop and into a police car.

MUSICWEEK
21 November 2022
Here, in a previously unseen extract from our interview, we look into the future with Tomlinson and talk, success, perception and his Away From Home Festival…
What are your biggest dreams and ambitions that Faith In The Future is out in the world?

「Murakami-san’s Place」 Advice Column Translation
Tumblr media
Answered by Haruki Murakami Illustrated by Masaru Fujimoto
Entries #006 - #010
#006: I’m nearing my thirties.
◎ My thirties is right around the corner but I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished anything. When I was a child, I thought being an adult is a wonderful thing, yet as I am now I feel so far away from that. And my heart breaks when I think about that reality. Just how am I supposed to live from here on out?
— Jo& Maca, F, 28 y.o.
◉ This might come off as rude but I think it’s incorrect to think that “being an adult is a wonderful thing.” What you make of it is your own responsibility. Accomplishing things is not easily done. It all starts by putting a little bit into it. You’re not even that much of a grown up yet at 28 years old. That’s because you’ve only just begun.
#007: Sex
◎ I’ve been looking forward to today! Mr. Haruki, who I haven’t met despite living in Japan, I’ve been a big fan of yours since high school. What I sincerely want to ask you about is regarding my sex life with my husband. He doesn’t have that much sex drive. How do I make him want to do it?
— Human Snoopy, F, 31 y.o., office worker
◉ Excuse me but I cannot possibly know anything about the circumstances of other people’s sex drive. Even I don’t fully understand my own. I’m sorry but please figure it out yourself.
#008: Iceland Love
◎ Hello, Mr. Murakami! Last year, I went on a trip to Iceland for in August for around 8 days. I’ve loved Icelandic artists like Sigur Rós and Múm from the very beginning, and from there I embraced my interest in the country. I looked up all sorts of things about it and thought I definitely want to visit it at least once, so I took up the chance to go there for my honeymoon. I thought the streets were clean, the food was delicious, the people were kind and the scenery was even more beautiful than I had expected. I became an Iceland fan through and through. If I’m not mistaken, you wrote about your trip to Iceland on an essay. What were your impressions of the place? There are plenty of bookstores and cafes in town and it’s easy to spend time there. If you venture out of the city, you can see countless of your beloved sheep. There are also a lot of hot springs. I don’t often go overseas and think to myself “I’d like to live here,” but I thought I’d like to live in Iceland. Anyway, as you love Iceland as well, I just thought I would ask.
— Papiko, M, 28 y.o., office worker
◉ I certainly love Iceland. But if you don’t go there at least once during the wintertime, you wouldn’t know if it’s a place you would like to live in or not, don’t you think? I went there at the start of September. There was some sort of literature festival and I was invited. I got a rental car and went all over the place. I’m going to be putting out a Travel Journal in the later half of this year and there is an entry in it on Iceland as well. Have you seen the movie called “Cold Fever”? It’s a very interesting movie set in Iceland. It was directed by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, starring Masatoshi Nagase. It’s often said that there are more ghosts and spirits of the dead than there are people living in Iceland, and that movie certainly made me think that. Jules Verne’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” is also set in Iceland. For one reason or another, it’s a very mysterious place. I’d like to go back there again.
(Administrator’s Note) The Iceland travel journal entry is published on “What On Earth Is In Laos?”
#009: Any young rock bands?
◎ Hello! I love rock. I started listening to Western rock music some years ago and I’ve come to love 60s and 70s music. Do you have young rock bands that debuted after the 2000s that you love and listen to? Thank you for your time!
— Glasses Idiot, M, 32 y.o., office worker
◉ I haven’t really listened to the music of young people recently. I’m sorry. But I do like music from Black Eyed Peas and Gorillaz, though they’re not really considered new. Which reminds me, I went to a Suga Shikao concert the other day. It was really fun. But my ears hurt a bit because of the volume.
#010: What kind of place is heaven?
◎ At the end of last year my uncle suddenly passed away. Two years before that, my aunt passed away (due to breast cancer). With my grandparents having died when I was a child, I have lost most of the people who have been important to me up until this point. Of course it’s only natural that that happens, but sometimes when I think about how someday, my still healthy parents will also one day pass away—I just get sad. I encountered your novels when I was an adolescent and I can remember feeling relief and shedding tears over them. Recently, I feel my beloved aunt who passed away is talking to me in her voice, and I would think, oh, she would probably say such and such at a time like this. (I'm most likely just making this up.) So, I have a question for your Mr. Haruki. Do you believe in heaven? If you do, what kind of place do you think it is? If not, what do you think happens to souls and such after we die? Thank you for your time!
— Mountain Goat, F, 34 y.o., housewife
◉ I think I might be disappointing you with this but personally, when I die, I simply want to sleep peacefully. I don't need heaven, or hell, or a hostess bar. I just want to sleep quietly, undisturbed by anyone. Though I do think I would like to try eating deep fried oysters from time to time.

youtube
i watched this video (put it off for all of 3 days because i get nervous watching video essays on my favorite things for some reason) and i loved it. it made me so happy. readmore cuz long post
even if the subject itself was how gorillaz nearly ended because of plastic beach's ambition, this video was so enjoyable. because i feel like getting an account of how people felt about the album release, at the time, from someone who was present is incredibly important for preservation? the extensive things fans have archived is important first and foremost as so much was personally privated by the band, but it's hard to get a pulse on fan feelings as a whole other than digging through wayback machine or knowing someone who was fandom present.
alongside this i'm appreciative of lady emily remarking on the landscape of releasing music at the time. where CD wasn't as huge, not as many people cared about vinyl, music channels were obsolete, and youtube was nascent even in 2010 when it comes to money making opportunities, especially for record labels forget about solo projects like lets-players. which just brings into perspective how taxing PB was to make. it's a beautiful project made off the failure of carousel to launch and didn't make as much of an impact as it needed to survive... which was something i personally was fully unaware of at the time. i just sat on youtube thinking that's where updates were mostly and relying on deviantart friends relaying info to me (i was very internet-dumb). carousel was insanely ambitious and destined to fail with how much they were expecting, and seeing the long list of projects that died out and the way the art being featured during tours became more of an after-thought was heartbreaking a bit so i can definitely understand why tensions blew up.
the idea of media (because PB isn't just an album even if that is the main skeleton veins and organs of it) being made for an era that doesn't exist is depressing, but her explanation to how it came to be and how different the climate is now is a great reminder to myself. because i keep asking 'why don't they do X Y and Z' and the truth is it costs SO much to do that, not to mention do it well AND have the artists and designers and so on be paid and treated well, and PB had so much going for it that didn't return profit. like the way the world is, passion itself doesn't reward you with a living which is sad, and appreciation and apt payment for visual arts doesn't get much better as the future moves on. and kind of humbles me to not have a stick up my ass for cracker island. KIND OF- i still feel my gears grinded when i see how sanitized some things are. major 'he wouldn't say that' feelings.
having reservations on gorillaz marketing behavior is fully allowed and honestly, needed because having a fanbase of only yes-men is detrimental, god forbid they thought NFTs would be well received. i feel hesitant to be a hater for newer stuff bc even if character writing choices annoy me so hard, i still find gems, and i still want to understand the full background of how much of what used to exist, can't exist the same way anymore as the world gets more expensive and a higher bar of quality is needed (outside the writing. that's more on current writers forgetting pretty well established easy characterization) idk if anything as wide-spread and ambitious as PB could ever exist today. isn't that sad? melancholy? i feel like being in your 20s during today consists of a lot of foot-in-one era, foot-in-the-other. the things you grow up with are impossible to go back to since technology is moving at a breakneck speed. but it being so expansive and story heavy was special and i'm learning more about that every day. as someone who's still iffy on the lore taking such a huge part of the overarching characters that it's still referenced at the end of the 2010's i really really do fucking love it. one of a kind. people who get very defensive of plastic beach have full reign to do so, just lemme stand behind you as a humanz defender
she also touched upon a feeling i thought was unpopular but i'm glad she did mention, and it's about how the story for the following albums were more self contained. i do feel though that wishing the band was a band and not characters milling about is a semi popular stance (?) i'm happy people recognize that because seriously my pulse on fandom feelings is sooooo lacking, even now as i venture to twitter and tumblr in 2023. anyways, even for how fantastical PB is and how much i love it, both the climate of the world not supporting projects like this and with gorillaz being self funded since 2019 (didn't know this and that is insane to me) gorillaz can benefit with the bar of expectations being lowered. multimedia projects are a rarity, with websites being sleeked and dumbed down for mobile users only, death of flash, social media being the hub for everything (why i get their reliance on it), singles needing to always be the strength of albums, and trends dying out faster than a mayfly, it's just hard. would i like to see them return to something like that, yes of course, but i sure as hell am not expecting it. unless some billionaire wants to dump their entire savings into their lap. the phases 1 and 2 performing well while being multimedia in the way of animation, interview, in-character and etc, is fantastic but there is no way that sort of MV quality would be passable today. and as a whole it was just less expensive AND way more new and fresh to make compared to making something in 2023 while also accommodating collaborators and managing the band. i guess it's difficult for me to hold a concrete stance. 'aw man why'd they do that... oh well...' times change ig. one thing i will shit on without feeling much guilt is the merch handling though like christ
i really want to hear her defend humanz like she said she might, like i'm on my knees... to wrap this up: very nice video if you want to hear about the behind the scenes of gorillaz all laid out in order. knowing the charting numbers didn't really hit for me till this video. and insight on how the band moved. there was a comment that said the flash games that are still archived today and she hearted it so you can check that out too, i've been going to that site archive for weeks now. i guess there was ONE thing which was i personally hated the way russel was used the entirety of that phase and i regard his mental break being phase 2 more than phase 3 so i raised my eyebrow at her depicting russel being cool and important, but like that's such a small bit, that i can understand why seeing him be a (silent) superhero was super cool. like yes he actually did do more actions on phase 3, bc even phase 1/2 he was, while well spoken gentle and wise, just there on the drums. i just want him to Say Something in phase 3 like that's his baby he's saving... well... ok. that's ok. don't get me started on my boy this post is already long e-fucking-nough
can i add. saying murdoc is the joker for gay teenage girls killed me

AU where the Gangreen Gang grew apart and departed early into their adulthood. What would their lives be like? Would it have changed for the better or worse? What careers would they have? Do they still commit "petty" crimes or would they have matured past that? Would they have families, or would they stay single? Would their relationship with the Powerpuff Girls improve or stay the same?
aaaaaa anon why must you hurt me like this 😭 it's so hard for me to picture them separating but I’ll do my best just for you
So I imagine as they get older they mellow out, and as they mellow out, they become less inclined to commit crimes. Let's say they finally get some much needed help and are given the chance to turn their lives around. As a result they do end up on better terms with the ppg. Buttercup less so, but eventually those issues get mended too. Some of their petty crimes were done out of survival as kids, so I think they would still commit a few out of habit, especially once they all start living on their own, but it would gradually stop once they were stable.
Ace seems pretty straightforward, given he winds up with Gorillaz lol. Once he has his act (mostly) together he decides to take playing bass more seriously. He auditions for some gigs, results are mixed since his green skin is off-putting to most people, but sometimes it's overlooked in favor of his talent, and some think it’s part of the act. He gains a cult following in more niche circles, which Ace is happy with, as it was more than he was expecting. During this time he keeps in contact with Murdoc after their first meeting, somewhat sporadic, but he does tell him about his latest gig or asks for advice. Does a bit of traveling across states as he looks for gigs, doesn’t really have a home in the traditional sense, but he never really did so it doesn’t bother him much. Works the occasional odd job when money is tight, and he is always keeping tabs on his boys. One day he's contacted by Russel asking him to fill in for Murdoc, and the rest is history :]
Snake probably struggles the most to adjust to living by himself. All of them have this issue to some degree, but being by himself brings back bad memories for Snake. He stays behind in Townsville since the idea of being alone in an unfamiliar city terrifies him. As a result, he's usually the one who coordinates get-togethers when the rest of the gang come to visit. He lands a job as a mechanic (with the girls' help) since he always had a knack for knowing his way around vehicles. Got himself a pet to help ease his anxieties, though I'm not sure what kind. Maybe a dog or a cat. Maybe a snake too, for theming lol. He calls each gang member on their designated day of the week. Monday is Ace, Tuesday is Grubber, and so on. Occasionally the Utonium family come visit, or they invite him to dinner, and they kinda become his second family.
Grubber had a hard time finding work, given that his appearance would usually scare off potential employers, and even if it didn't they wouldn't be able to understand him anyway. But he did manage to find a career in music. He would upload pieces online and he quickly gained a following, becoming quite successful without anyone ever seeing his face. It also allows him to interact with fans through comments. He's well known for his versatility in genres, concepts, and instruments, and it landed him some nice gigs for various pieces of media, as well as any royalties those would entail. He makes sure to stay in contact with the others, especially Ace as a fellow musician. He is fascinated by the mainstream music scene and Gorillaz' escapades as told by Ace. He and Ace are currently collaborating on an experimental EP album.
Lil' Arturo actually grows a little taller! (finally having a healthier diet had something to do with it lol) He finally gets the chance to pursue his interest in history, and goes on to become a museum curator specializing in ancient history. He travels quite a bit as part of his job, so he often brings little trinkets and souvenirs from touristy gift shops home to his buddies. He doesn't use Maria as much anymore after a few teeth broke off the comb part, but he still carries her in his pocket as a comfort thing. When it comes to the gang all catching up, he has the most stories to tell, and he would love for them all to visit some of these places with him one day. Also has a girlfriend, because the short king deserves it 👑
For as strong as Big Billy is, he was always surprisingly gentle with animals. Once the ppg took notice of this, they helped him get work at the local animal shelter. Bubbles would spend a lot of time there with him, initially to help him get settled and make sure things were going smoothly, then she started doing it for fun. His coworkers were intimidated at first, but things mellowed out once they saw he was just there to do his job. Billy sometimes needs instructions simplified, and sometimes he gets distracted by the cats, but he is a hard worker, and genuinely wants to make these animals happy. He cries whenever one is adopted out, but gets over it after being reminded that they have a home and a family now. Currently he is working at an animal shelter the next town over (not Citiesville, but whatever other town is near them) that includes more exotic animals like birds and horses. It was suggested by his manager, as she thinks he has a lot of potential and wants him to vary up his skillset, and he was excited about the idea. If he calls the others, it's to talk about whatever animal he worked with that day. He visits Townsville the most often, since he's close by.
Whenever they all meet up, they spend at least one evening in the city dump, in that same old rickety shack, just like old times.

Been chatting a lot about Band AU, so heres some junk that wont let me work in peace unless i write it down.
All members are between 21 and 28 years of age in this AU, to group them up a bit.
Grey works in an office, handling tech issues (hello IT, have you tried turning it off and on again?), is disinterested in his work but it pays and at lunch he can go and chat with the receptionist for the company downstairs, Plum, who takes calls and handles mindless tasks all day.
Grey is a killer drummer, totally built for it, loves to play, and Plum has an adaptable set of skills, but notably, she trained in audio mixing. Her base knowledge of brass instruments, and a love for synth of all kinds, means she's always messing with vibes, mixing genres you'd never think to put together. She rocks a keytar from time to time too, if need be.
Those two jam together a lot in their free time, and use the office equipment to print gig flyers to post everywhere for the band. After work Grey hops on his motorbike, Plum on the back, and they run around town posting them up on every available surface. Now and then Plum will get a Fax come through (old I know) and Greys drawn up new band shirts crudely, showing her from upstairs, getting feedback.
Rei is a fantastic Bass player, talented and the youngest, he delivers mail in the day, and by night, writes and composes with Peach a lot. Despite being the youngest, he is by far the most mature at times, and can be found haggling with venue owners for slots on stages locally. His bright energy is infectious, and people love working with him. He does a great job as the social media manager, and always knows the best places to hold spontaneous pop up gigs.
Then theres Peach, by day, a pretty hostile looking cafe worker, it's a wonder she's not scared all the customers off, but still, the job is quiet so she gets a lot of time in the day to write lyrics and come up with crazy riffs in the back room. A guitarist by training, and front-woman for the group, her ego is backed up by skill, as much as it annoys the others, she does know what she's doing, and has the voice for the work.
Grey and Rei do backup vocals for sure, both can hold a tune. Peach gets irritated when she hands a demo track to Plum and comes back to it sounding so good with her tweaks and mixes, hates to say it but the little monster is painfully good at putting things together, has an ear for it. Sets are streamline with her around, and she's always game to try new sounds out, keeps things fresh.
Their unique blend of punk rock touches on a number of areas ranging from ska, grime, Jazz, metal, electronic, techno, garage, and everything in between.
Back stage the two tyrogue twins, greys lucario, and Booker handle equipment. Rei has a Jolly Electivire that helps power amps and gear when doing pop up gigs. Valka is the pyrotechnics expert, mixed with Plums Dragonair for crazy visuals and lights during shows.
They all pile into a beat up old van and bumble around as a team, totally living for the music. The girls bicker, and eventually they get a manager, Theo, who is like the mom who holds onto 4 toddler leashes, always butting heads with Peach.
Wanna draw them in a bunch of musician outfits, Steel Panther comes to mind because that era of fashion is amazing, but Gorillaz too! That 4 pannel album cover would be a great base for them.

Here, in a previously unseen extract from our interview, we look into the future with Tomlinson and talk, success, perception and his Away From Home festival…
What are your biggest dreams and ambitions that Faith In The Future is out in the world?
