Sasakawa Foundation Linked to Peruvian Sterilizations

The Sasakawa Foundation is a Japanese non-profit organization founded by Ryoichi Sasakawa, a wealthy businessman and philanthropist. During the 1990s, the Foundation was involved in a population control program in Peru, which included the forced sterilization of approximately 300,000 Peruvian women. This program was part of a larger effort to control population growth in the country, and was implemented with the support of the Peruvian government under former President Alberto Fujimori.

Alberto Fujimori was the President of Peru from 1990 to 2000, and is currently living in Japan as a refugee. Peruvian authorities have been seeking to have him extradited to face trial for a number of crimes, including "crimes against humanity." These crimes stem from his role in organizing the Colina Group, a death squad that was responsible for the elimination of members and supporters of the Communist Party of Peru, or the Shining Path, during the internal conflict in Peru in the late 20th century. The Colina Group is accused of committing numerous human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings, torture, and forced disappearances.

It is important to note that while the Sasakawa Foundation was involved in the forced sterilization program in Peru, it is not directly implicated in the human rights abuses committed by the Colina Group. However, the Foundation's involvement in the population control program raises questions about its role in supporting government policies that violated the human rights of Peruvian citizens.

OK So Context

I kind of progressively lost my mind in college. What with the learning about the specifics of what is going on and how it relates to what has happened in the past. -and subsequently took the time to develop a series of presentations about why the US sucks.

Specifically, the interventions in Latin American, just the astoundingly predatory nature of American Capitalism domestically and The Police, like, as a concept.

Fast forward to the Summer of 2022 and I realized that working with an editor and publishing a book is hard and expensive but its measured in thousands not tens of thousands so I committed to doing that at some point in my life with this project, and began working on adapting the presentations with more research and more connections between these different expressions of White Supremacy.

I let the research balloon. There's just so much.

Anyway, the whole social media campaign thing was to distract me from pinning all that down. -and last month one of the members of my subreddit, u/acebush1, self immolated in the time it took to get around to responding to his most recent comment. That made this all very real. The US' support for Israel and it's foundation as a settler colonial state are critically relevant.

Right, so,. Last month someone asked me how to buy the book and that was the thing I had said to myself would mark the transition back to a writing and research focus rather than just research and learning social media.

I’ve been listening to this really interesting podcast about fascism in Japan as viewed through a Marxist lens while I was doing a lot of driving today and it put my mom to sleep but she was following where she could and then when were 3/4 the way home she turns and asks me “what’s fascism?” (Her native language isn’t English.)

I love her. But if she didn’t understand that then she probably didn’t get a ton out of it.

Rly good podcast to get an intro to Japanese fascism and the host brings in rly intelligent speakers and debunks myths about Japan and gives me some good resources to go read

SEOUL (Kyodo) -- South Korea and Japan are making arrangements for a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer taking part in a naval drill hosted by South Korea next week to fly the controversial rising sun flag when it enters the port of Busan, a source familiar with bilateral relations said Thursday.

The potential agreement on the flag, which is widely viewed in South Korea as a symbol of Japan's wartime aggression, is another sign of improved bilateral ties following disputes stemming from Japan's 1910-1945 colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula, according to the source.

While the flag is the official ensign of the MSDF, the government of President Yoon Suk Yeol's predecessor Moon Jae In asked Tokyo to refrain from raising it due to its links to the Imperial Japanese Army, which used it until the end of World War II.

With its move toward accepting the MSDF displaying the flag when it enters the South Korean port, Yoon's administration apparently aims to promote trust between the two nations' defense authorities, the source said.

The military exercise is set to take place in international waters southeast of South Korea's Jeju Island on Wednesday, South Korea's Defense Ministry has said. South Korea, Japan, the United States, Australia and Canada will participate.

The exercise is aimed at strengthening capabilities to counter the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and a meeting by the defense officials of these nations and other countries will be held to that end on Tuesday, the ministry said.

Yoon, who became president last year, has been taking steps to improve bilateral relations with Japan and proposed a solution to the issue of wartime labor compensation in March.

it makes sense that the vestals would be named that way and stylized as such. fascism takes its cues from the romans and modelling themselves with the aesthetics of the roman empire. vestal is a name in reference to the roman goddess vesta, the vexos have bakugan named after greco-roman gods, zenoheld's name is most likely a mistransliteration of xenoheld, and they practice gladiator-style bakugan battles. vestal is very much inspired by the roman empire, and if the empire existed today it would be labelled fascist.
