summer road trip

kaeya x gn!reader

synopsis: you and your boyfriend take a road trip to the beach

a/n: in honor of my vacation starting this week (and me not being able to sleep) you guys can have this!

• okay so i honestly have no clue who would drive during the trip?? i feel like kaeya would drive just because he feels he can protect you more or something so i’ll just say he drives during this

• if you’re scared of the road for whatever reason it may be he’ll constantly reassure you that you two will get to your hotel safely. even randomly throughout the trip he’ll just remind you that everything’s okay :( <3

• you two definitely fill up on snacks before you go to save time and money but end up stopping and getting fast food anyways

• on the topic of food you two can never decide on what to eat. one of you will want chick-fil-a while the other wants mcdonald’s so it takes a whole 10 minutes to decide

• kaeya 100% has his hand on your thigh the whole ride. no arguments he doesn’t take it off at ALL and you don’t mind it

• he’d fight you for radio control just to be a menace but let’s you have control in the end because he loves you

• this man will sing his heart out to any song on the radio. somehow he magically knows almost all the words. you also sing along so you two have mini concerts while going 80 mph on an interstate. definitely look insane to the others driving by but you don’t care

• if you end up falling asleep sometime during the drive kaeya will turn the radio down some and hush up so you can sleep peacefully. most days that you travel he knows you don’t get much sleep so he just leaves you be. honestly adores the small snores you make here and there

• once you do wake up he’ll greet you with a somewhat teasing remark like “good morning sleepyhead” or “sleep well?” even if it’s late afternoon

• this is random but pls hear me out.. kaeya would definitely be a road rager. not like extremely but he would like cuss people out in the car and complain about traffic causing you to laugh your ass off at it

• sometimes if he gets bored during traffic he’ll go on random tangents about literally anything and you just sit there and listen to him because you simply enjoy hearing him talk. his little tangents is one of the many things that you love about him

• once you two finally get to the beach and find your resort he tries his best to take all the luggage out of the car but fails miserably, making you tease him about it while taking half of the load

• after you two get checked in he’s the first one on the bed. he’s reasonably exhausted from driving a long ways and the poor man needs his rest

you stepped out of the bathroom, shivering slightly as the cold air from the air conditioner made contact with your still somewhat wet skin. you’d just gotten out of the shower and gotten dressed a few minutes ago, so your hair was still damp.

you noticed kaeya laying on the bed, scrolling through his phone while the tv played in the background. he was obviously zoned out because he hadn’t noticed you step out of the shower. he was supposed to take one after you do it was shocking to see he wasn’t already sprinting to the bathroom.

shuffling your bare feet against the carpeted floors, you made your way over to the bed. suddenly, you decided to just flop down onto him— causing a small ‘oof’ sound to come out of him.

“i see you’re out of the shower,” kaeya let out a barely audible laugh mid sentence. he ran his fingertips through your wet hair gently, picking out any of the small knots you might have missed if he comes across them.

“mhm,” you mumbled, nuzzling yourself into his chest. as soon as your body hit the bed you felt a wave of sleepiness take over your body. you had barely slept since yesterday and it was catching up to you now. “‘m tired.”

“go to sleep then love,” kaeya’s voice suddenly got soft, that loving and caring tone taking over his voice. he placed a small peck on your lips, mumbling a quiet ‘i love you’ against them.

within a few minutes you were asleep, snoring a little against his chest. a tiny smile came across kaeya’s face as his heart filled with love. you looked absolutely adorable to him right now— snuggled up against his body fast asleep with a peaceful expression on your face. this is exactly what he’d ever wanted and those wishes came true.

he slowly pulled the covers over the two of you, trying his best not to wake you. after he put his phone down he situated himself a little so that the both of you would be comfortable. kaeya placed one last kiss to the top of your head before resting his eyes for the first time all day.

guess that shower would just have to wait till the morning.

i updated genshin and saw my pending quests

(character story quests not included but i have a lot of pending) so instead i explored a little in sumeru....then i saw this... some type of flying ruin guard (i havent catched up yet lmao)
