New piece featuring a beautiful chalcedony(?) Bat I picked up at a local store. "Flower Bat," 2024, bead embroidery, bead weaving with gemstones, resin, glass, metal, nylon, and leather.
Winged Victory pendant consists of a statue of Greek Goddess Nike or Roman Goddess Victoria. This jewelry piece is formed of a torso and wings. It’s a wearable sculpture for history of art or mythology or archaeology lovers.
Starting to think about my upcoming show with American Craft Made Baltimore. There’s a lot to plan and create ahead of a big show like this. I’ve learned over the years that starting as early as possible gives me the most flexibility to create my best work. The more time I have the more likely I am to take a creative risk and try something new. It seems that the closer a deadline approaches I start to focus on tried and true pieces and spend more of my time working on things I know have worked in the past. I’m really excited to be bringing some of the new work I created over the last few months to this show. Trying to stay consistent with my studio time every day!
The Artist Behind BluKatDesign on Etsy- Series Post #1
Meet the artist behind BluKatDesign on Etsy and learn my story of creating art from a young age to selling jewelry and ornaments on Etsy today. I will be posting little blurbs here and there this year so you can get to know me and my work a little better.
In 1967 or 1968, (that’s not a typo!!!) I made my first piece of jewelry similar to this one out of card stock with crayon scribble and…
You may notice things slow down a bit for me here. This is partly because I’m shifting gears & working hard on some things behind the scenes, but also because I am adjusting my rhythm + flow - my check in with my oncologist is just a few days after my birthday, and with school coming up and my work as an elementary school sub and setting up to do more for the gaming side of my biz AND working on my fifth book to publish, there’s a lot on my plate. 💜
But *slow* doesn’t mean *no* progress, it just means, for me at least, finding my steady. 💕 For 7 years, creating jewelry has been the heart of what I do, and it remains that way. I have always said, “jewelry is more than art, it’s battle gear; arm yourselves…” because I do feel that jewelry has the power to empower and uplift us. So I’ll be melting metal and making the magick, just at a very different pace.
You can find this piece (and soooo much more moon magick) over at my site. Wishing you all the magick this Full Moon has to offer. 💫
this is a frankenstein's monster themed necklace I made for my upcoming Halloween pt. 1 collection, also featuring pieces inspired by skeletons, werewolves, and witches!
check it out here or on Instagram, where I'm also @cloudeggcreations. collection drops Sunday, 9/3, 12pm PST!
✨ Vintage, Schiaparelli-Inspired Lapis Lazuli Collar Statement Toggle Necklace ft. an Etched, Floral Brass Locket Pendant & 304 Surgical Steel Chains/Findings ✨

I love displaying this piece in my pop-up shop because it never fails to garner some compliments 💙
This show-stopping statement piece was inspired by vintage jewelry designs made by Elsa Schiaparelli during her collaboration with Salvador Dali in 1935. I wanted to play the structure and lines, here, in a way that imitated dripping water 💧 without crossing the line into complete deconstruction.
How did I do? What design era or aesthetic has been inspiring you, lately? 🗝️✨
Dropping this piece, "Jazz," off for a show today. Bead embroidered treble and bass clef (hidden snap closure under the bass clef), loom work music staffs, bead fringe.
I am spending the last few days of 2022 making gifts for my kids upcoming birthdays. So I figured it is safe to choose a few favorite pieces that I made this year! 😅
Earlier this year, I decided to pause on making fiber arts goods for the shop. So it has been mostly jewelry and soap (except for that clearance section 👀) coming out! I am really proud of these pieces and want to thank everyone who has supported me and my shop! You are the best. 😩🥹
I can’t wait to show you what I have planned for 2023!
Winged Victory pendant consists of a statue of Greek Goddess Nike or Roman Goddess Victoria. This jewelry piece is formed of a torso and wings. It’s a wearable sculpture for history of art or mythology or archaeology lovers. This is two-toned version, I also offer fully silver plated.
American Craft Made Baltimore was such a blast this year! I have so much gratitude for this incredible artists community. I remember when I was in college and working for an artist at this very show and I thought “one day I would love to be an artist here.” 6 years later I applied and found myself in their emerging artist program.
One of the greatest joys of doing this show has been getting to know the other artists. I love my little artist family and it’s so much fun to to have our annual dinner together and catch up. I’m always so inspired by their work and work ethic and it’s so interesting to hear everyone’s new ideas.
I ended up being interviewed for tv twice during this show, it was nerve wracking but it was also a really good learning experience. I’m still not super great when it comes to talking about my work more professionally. I tend to get very nervous when put on the spot like that! But this was a good challenge to try and speak more honestly about how I create and why.
There’s a lot of orders I’m still working through from the show and I have a lot on my plate coming up. I’ll be pretty busy for the next month! Thank you to everyone who stopped by the show!
