Headcanon time I guess(TMNT 2012)

BECAUSE I'M TERRIBLY MISSING TMNT BUT I'M BURNT OUT OF WATCHING NETFLIX HEADCANONS FOR TMNT 2012

If any of these end of very very very canon you can blame netflix for not having 4/5 seasons so I don't know everything oopsie :3

I'll start with my favorite character since obviously I'm gonna have alot to say about him :)

Michelangelo, Mikey, The best boy!! :3 sunshine boy idk

He's very very VERY fond of bugs, He picks them up and smiles at them :) and sometimes eats but only when his brothers aren't around because they 100% yell at him everytime they see him eat the bugs because B U G S!! Listen what else are they gonna eat that technically has meat? There's not gonna be any chicken in the sewers... maybe... who knows... chickens are weird like that <3

AS SOON!!! As they got internet and stuff in the lair he learned EVERY SINGLE CUSS WORD ✨✨✨ He also learns very quickly how and when to use them etc etc because he finds them so funny, Also He ONLY uses them with villains and only when his brothers/family/friends aren't around!! He comes up with the weirdest crazy fuckin Insults and thinks they are SO funny <3 lol (... Projection maybe :3 )

He's PanRomanic Asexual, because He deserves to be alittle(ALOT) Fruity 💖 (Kinda projection but not really, I'm Pansexual so sorta close LOL)

Tends to learn how to use weapons REALLY fast, He finds it really fun and interesting to learn how to use his brothers weapons!!! :D

Reads ao3 fanfics, Doesn't write any but found out Leo writes them and loves reading his, Mikey's just so glad his Oldest Brother has something fun he likes to do that isn't really serious!!! :D

Doesn't like Horror Movies(To much gore for him normally) but fucking loves Psychological Horror. I was about the say he liked The Magnus archives, but it didn't start until 2016 lol. So Umm :3 He likes reading horror stories alot. (This is projection probably but hey, I think he would hehehe)

Forgets his own birthday almost every single year(Oops going angsty now beware >:3 ) He doesn't see his birthday as important as his brothers or even his fathers so his brain just forgets about it, He always remembers his brothers tho(this is paired with the headcanon that they choose different days in the same month so that they didn't have to have 4 different birthdays on the same day lol)

April gave them a notebook and Mikey sketches in it, he runs out of space and starts to draw in between every other drawing because he doesn't want to ask for another one... :')

HE PUTS STICKERS ON THAT NOTEBOOK!!!! they're not very good stickers but like, He's collected them for years, every time he found one that wasn't destroyed then he takes it >:3 His brothers know about his little stickers and leave any stickers they find in his room <3 :'D

believes in luckiness/unluckiness and that sorta, luck theory(I might be the only person who's thought of this So I'll explain it oops) Basically Mikey believes that if Something good happens to him the same amount of bad will also happen later on, and vise versa :3 He doesn't let it bother him but it's always in the back of his mind.

The last thing also plays a part in this one. Mikey doesn't like when something REALLY good happens to him. He 100% believes that something REALLY bad will happen to him sometime after, Normally it does tho so he's kinda valid for it :')

Loves Animals, All kinds, He doesn't technically have a favorite(Until ICK comes into his life and it becomes cats) He loves cows and dogs and bunnies(PROJECTION LOL) and fish and Frogs and birds and dinosaurs and erhjdkjgbhdfkjbndfkjnjdfns ALL OF THEM, He doesn't really have a least favorite tho :)

He finds soda really weird, He likes diet soda tho, for some Weird reason, If he were to ever go to a fast food place he'd do that thing where to put some of every drink choice in one cup >:) (That's projection kinda, I used to do that so much omg, not anymore tho sadge)

Likes legos and stuff like it :D he likes building things that have instructions, He likes looking at the finished product and smiling and holding it and just OvO

LOVES COLORS!!! His favorite color isn't orange surprisingly tho, Instead it's the colors of the sky(in the day and night!!)

Likes sunsets/sunrises alot

He likes sitting on building roofs and just looks at the sky... It's when he cries the most LOL

DEPRESSION ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (PROJECTION TO THE MAX) His room is messy and he can never get to cleaning it and it makes him sad and like, numb sorta lol

Gets Auditory hallucinations every now and again. They spook him alot since they're normally of stuff breaking loudly

Can't stop moving ever and it's very endearing to me!!! Stims constantly when happy and it's really endearing to his brothers because that's how they now he's actually really happy to be there and hang out with them, He just loves them so much(in a sibling way of course, I swear it anyone thinks differently I will hit them with a chainsaw and eat their flesh!!!!) aka they also know when he's not happy because of it aswell tho.

He bites people when he wants to >:)

Quotes space hero's and Raph and Donnie are sick of it, Mikey quotes it with him but isn't as good at remembering the quotes lol

A/N: this fic is an alternative story based on his card 100 yearnings of love (that he gets wasted in the entertainment quarter with oji). Futaba here is an adult and she works with her father. She is almost Koga's age. Btw, I wrote this fic almost a year ago but I was too lazy to edit it. Now it seems a great moment to post it, as today is Koga’s bday!!!! Happy birthday, my oni ogre. I’ll always always love you, even if I can’t play ayakashi anymore. Voltage can’t take you away from me!!!!

Koga went to town to have so fun with his friends. Thankfully, he can take the rest of the night off to chill, which is unusual considering there is always something urgent for him to do.

The entrepreneur always receives invitations to fancy parties and the likes, but today, he just wants to vibe with his closest friends.

These men are bachelors, who, by chance, also love sake. Their motto is to always drink to their heart's contents.

Today, a very traditional restaurant is holding a sake tasting in their establishment to promote local sake businesses. The perfect event for guys like Koga and his friends. And as expected, sake lovers would never say no to this unique opportunity.

All Koga wants after a busy week is to taste that nectar on his oni lips until he quenches his thirst.

After hours of tasting all the types of sake available, they were far from being tired of drinking. One of the female attendants approached the rowdy group to ask if they would still like another round of sake.

“Would you like more sake handsome boys?”, said you one of the female attendants.

“Oh yeah, We're just getting started! Hahaha.”

“Huh! As if I would lose to you, Koga. Bring it on, lady!”

“HAHAHA. That's the spirit, Akira!”

While the attendant was laughing at the boys’ enthusiasm, a second friend of Koga, Hokuto, started flirting with her.

“And what about you pretty lady? You must be tired of just serving us. Why don't you join us instead?”

“Yeahhh! Don't worry about your boss, we can deal with him later. I'm sure he will understand”, shouted an excited Akira.

“I would love to! Thank you. I'll just get your drinks first.”

“Now we are talking about! Koga, you saw that? Ahhh, today is our lucky day!!! Sake and women are an unbeatable combo!”

“So you make sure she sits next to you, Akira. I have nothing to do with that. I just want the sake, you know.”

“Ohh, here you go again. Don’t worry, Koga. Futaba is not gonna get mad at you, we were the ones who invited her.”

Then, by accident, Koga knocked over some glasses that were on the table, making a huge noise in the establishment.

Luckily, most people didn't notice because it was late at night and the remaining customers were also wasted or too busy talking and laughing loud.

“Oops, hahaha. Where those glasses came from?”

“Is that him panicking just to the possibility of his sweetheart seeing him here with other women?

“Oi, don't talk as if I was not here... Futaba is a busy woman, but she is very understanding. No way she would… Ahhh, I don’t need to give you any explanation!”

“I'll pay for the broken glasses. Look, I have money!”

“Hahaha I thought you were going to use that money to buy more sake though!”

“Oh shit, true! But no worries! There is more where this came from! HAHAHA”

The attendant comes back with more sake for the rowdy men. After serving them, she sits at the table and starts drinking too.

But it doesn’t take long before one of the coworkers approaches to let her know she needs to get back to work because another group of costumers just arrived and someone needs to serve them.

As all the other attendants were extra busy, she excuses herself to wait on the other clients.

“Wow, kinda late to enter now, isn't it? What time is it anyway?”

“Hehehe, I don't know. But they are no idiots, Hokuto. Look those ladies with them.”

“Shit! Isn’t that…!”

Koga turns his head around to see what his friends were talking about. That's when he sees Futaba with some ladies and gentlemen sitting at a table on the other side of the establishment.

“WTF!?”. Without thinking twice, Koga gets up clumsily and rushes toward the table where Futaba just sat. His friends try to stop him, but they are too wasted to hold an infuriated and confused Koga, who was not ashamed of throwing a fit in public.

“Are you guys going to try some of these special sakes?”, said a cheerful Futaba.

“Futaba!”

“Huh? What was that?”. Futaba turns around to see Koga screaming her name from the other side of the restaurant. She gets shocked when she sees her beloved Koga walking towards her as if he was going to kill someone.

“What is happening, Futaba?”

“Err... I'm not sure myself. If you excus...”

“What are you doing?”, whispers one of Futaba’s female friends. “Do not leave the table with our patrons here! They will get offended.”

“Listen, I don’t know what Koga is doing here, but knowing him, it would be best if I try to calm him down first. He doesn't know these men. He may be worried about my safety…”

“No, Futaba. Stay here. You’ll make things worse. Now sit here next to me.”

In a split second, Koga approaches Futaba’s table. The oni ogre is foaming at the mouth. His red eyes shone like flames as if he was in a war zone ready to take the enemy down.

“ YOU TELL ME RIGHT NOW WHAT IS THIS!”

“Koga, can you please stop screaming? Your behavior next to my patrons is not acceptable! Let’s talk…”

“And who the fuck is that man? Get the fuck out of here, drunkard. If you touch any of the ladies here I will ask my bodyguards to kick you out right now!”, shouted one of the men at Futaba’s table.

“AM I TALKING TO YOU?! If you dare to interrupt my conversation with Futaba one more time. You'll regret ever coming here.”

“That's outrageous! This fucker needs to go immediately!”

Koga and the other men at Futaba's table kept yelling at each other when another friend of hers tried to cool down their spirits.

“Do you know who this guy is? Please, we are talking to Koga Kitamikado! It must be just some misunderstanding, okay? He is Futaba's lover. I'm sure he has his reasons to come here. Let’s all solve this like adults.”

“Yes, Sakura is right. I can handle this. It won't take long, I promise. I will just explain to Koga...”

“I don't give a fuck if he is a Kitamikado or not. No man is gonna ruin our...”

Before the man can finish his sentence, Koga punches the guy so hard that he goes down like a sack of potatoes, letting everyone in the establishment astonished by what they had just witnessed.

“KOGAAAA! LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE! YOU PUNCHED ONE OF MY PATRONS!”

Koga's friends, who were watching the whole scene, decide to intervene once again by talking to the other men at Futaba's table and to Koga as well.

"Who on earth were the other men thinking? Inviting Fubata in the middle of the night to the entertainment quarter and expecting to get away with it with Koga watching the whole thing? Don’t these men hear the rumors about Koga and Futaba?", said a resigned Hokuto.

Somehow, even though they are all drunk, they manage to control the commotion. One of Koga’s friends escorted Futaba’s female friends, and the man who Koga knocked out was taken to the hospital. According to the rumors, he was conscious. Futaba and Koga took a carriage back to his place before he could assault other people.

Once the duo gets to Koga’s manor, Futaba promptly helps to carry him inside.

“Here, Koga. Let me help you. Come on. We're home. I mean... in your house.”

“I’m fine. I’m fine!”

“I think I'll beg to differ, but okay, if you're fine then you can go to your room by yourself while I head to my house.”

“Futaba, wait... Are you hurt? If those fuckers did something to you...”

“Please, stop it. You're exaggerating. It was just a business meeting. Look, we're getting close to your room. Don’t be too loud, okay? You may wake up, Kuya. And we don’t want that.”

After putting Koga on his bed, Futaba looks for some other blankets for Koga when she sees those red eyes staring at her.

“What is it, Koga?”

“Futaba… I’ll solve it, okay?”

“Huh?”

“I’ll not let anyone ruin your reputation because of me. I’ll talk to them tomorrow. Just stay the night here.”

Now knowing how to say no to those pleading red eyes looking at her, Futaba gets some extra blankets for herself as well.

i would love to hear your unpopular opinions on jane austen 👀 fun fact, jane austen and i share a birthday! i was hoping to do a full austen reread last year which then got pushed into this year, and i still haven't read a single austen this year since i decided to reread les mis instead... oops? but hopefully next year i'll reread some austens! and i want to read/reread more classics too! i really want to revisit a lot of books i read for school and reread them now as an adult and see how i feel about them!

i am notoriously bad at watching movies — and also very bad at recording them on letterboxd! but i really loved watching glass onion: a knives out mystery (which i watched in january with my uncle), theatre camp (which i watched with my friend alyssa), the menu (which i watched with my friend jamie), barbie (which i saw the weekend i saw eras tour, with three of my closest friends), and of course, the eras tour film (which i saw a couple times; twice with my mom and once with one of my best friends from school)! i think part of my enjoyment was the movie itself, but also the experience of watching it with someone i love! what about you? do you have any tv/film recs for the year?

"Hon? I think the zipper on my dress is stuck. Can you fix it?"

"Sure"

Albedo is walking behind you, and he was ready to hold the zipper when he caught sight of the back of your shoulders. He wants to touch it so badly since it looks to be so smooth.

"You ok Albedo? I should just change I think the zipper can't be fixed anymore" after some silence from your lover, you finally asked him

"No! I mean, it's fixed now. Let's go"

You stared at him, confused, as he quickly zipped your dress and walked right to the door. So your zipper is ok; why is it taking him so long to zip it? Perhaps he actually fixed something? Oh well, you'll have plenty of time to think about it later. First, you must follow your flustered lover because he appears to be heading in the other direction of his lab.

XIAO

"Uhm...(Y/n)... your back"

"My back? What about my back?"

You turned around, looking for whatever was on your back, as Xiao merely stared at you, as if he'd eaten a jueyen chili and his face had become bright red, in contrast to his typically cold nature.

He can now see your back fully as your zipper continues to descend as a result of all your twisting and turning. When you feel the chilly wind on your back, it's too late to do anything about it. It was so cold that you yelped and Xiao looked like he was going to burst. Because of this, he's keeping his hands tightly crossed over his chest in an attempt to avoid any action he'll be embarrassed about later.

Xiao couldn't stand seeing you fumble with it any longer, so he went over to you and zipped your dress so swiftly you didn't notice him behind you. To calm himself down, he made a dash for the door, cursing as he went, as the image of your back flashed in his mind repeatedly. 

"Uh thanks Xiao? Wait where are you going? We need to go to the meeting with Morax, Xiao!" you yelled after him, following the green and dark wisps he left behind.

VENTI

"Windblume? Are you ready yet? Bennet's surprise birthday party will start soon. What's taking you so lo-oh, well, well, well My Dove, you could've said so if you want to do 'that' now"

"Oh stop it Venti! The zipper is stuck I think. I keep on trying to go up but it won't budge"

"Ok, ok! I'm just joking I'll help you but if you want...."

"Nope, maybe later Love. We need to be there in time since we'll be decorating the place"

"Fineeee" Venti whined as he grabs the zipper

"Venti! you pull the zipper up! not down"

"Oh oops! My bad ehe"

"I swear-"

"Yeah, yeah here it's all done"

In the end, Venti appeared to have been robbed of sweets, and you couldn't help but laugh at the sight. You whispered a promise to do it tonight as you kissed his cheek, and he sprung back into your arms, giggling.

XINGQIU

"Xiin!!!! Help me!"

"What happened My Liege!? Did someone broke into our-"

"No, that's not it; I tried zipping up my dress, but it became stuck, and my skin with it. It hurts!" tears formed at the side of your eyes as every move hurts

"Sure my Love, here turn your back to me"

In order to give Xingqiu easy access to your back, you bend down a little more. With his gentle and skillful hands, he was able to free your dress's zipper from its jam and zip it back up again in no time. His hands stayed for a while on your sides and kissed the back of your neck. 

"Call me when you're ready to leave, I'll be waiting downstairs"

"Ok! Thanks again Xingqiu" he bowed down at you before smirking and head downstairs.

RAZOR

"Lupical?"

Razor enters your room and discovers you sweating and red on the edge of your bed. "You ok Lupical? You hurt? Tell Razor! He fix it!"

"No it's ok, I- I just have trouble with my dress that's all and I spent almost an hour fixing it but..." you sighed, feeling tired from making the damned zipper budge

"Let help? I...I can try fix!"

In his hunt for a word to describe the zipper on your back, Razor couldn't come up with one and so he just pointed to it. After saying your thanks, you stepped back and allowed his hands do the fixing while you instruct him on what to do.

"Whew I can now breathe fine, thanks Razor!"

"Anything for Lupical! I help!"

"Aww lemme hug my baby!"

"What baby? no baby here Lupical" you just giggled and hugged him, his face burns red but his Lupical's hugs makes him happy.

SCARAMOUCHE

"That serves you, you keep on moving like a crazed monkey for the past hour. Now your dress is stuck hah!"

"I'm regretting asking for your help you Gremlin!"

"Kneel and maybe I will" he grinned evilly at you while he readies for his Kamera

"Forget it! I'm asking Tartaglia instead! you short mushroo-"

"Don't"

"What?"

"Are you deaf?! I said I'm fixing it now! Here I am, the great Balladeer!, reduced to just fixing zippers!"

"Hehehe thank you smoochie"

"Hmp! Just don't ask anyone especially that ginger b*tch to touch you, got it?! Or I'll zip them up for good!"

"Yes my tsundere boyfriend, I'm just kidding though. I'm yours alone"

Scaramouche stops breathing at that and when he saw your triumphant face having that shit eating grin he scoffed and leave the room in a second. He grabs his chest, that's too close, you'll be the death of him for sure. The sun is the only witness to see him smiling like an idiot at your claim, you're his alone? well then he'll make sure everyone will hear that tonight.

Babe wake up im going to rant about my ocs lore because im bored

Tw/cw depression, suicide, kidnapping, addiction, unreality

I write angsty stuff for my ocs oops-

When i first started making my characters they were very different in alot of ways and they were very different from what they are now. But i some how managed to glue all the chaos of my ocs together into a semi-coherent story. I went through an insane amount of world building with myself and i honestly dont think ive ever writen or typed any of it out before! its all just up in my head (and you know my memory is trash so ive probably forgotten of alot of things i made before lol). Anyways- i have two main story lines for my characters. Ethan's story, and Vevlet's story. Although i must admit Ethan's story is less complex than velvets simply beacsue it acts as a story of prequeal to Velvets story line. (Alternate realities that happen to have effect on each other basically- we love space time junk)

Ethan's world is very similar to ours, the most similar out of any of my fantasy worlds lol. Ethan's story revolves around self-discovery. I mean for it to be a wholesome/lighthearted thing that quickly leads up to dark undertones (spoilers lol). Ethan's story begins with Eef pre-transition (AFAB to NB). We get to see Ethan learn about themself and have fun exploring emotions and what it means to be alive. Ethan comes from a run-down family (mom khs, dad mia). So he lives with his adoptive parents (who i have yet to design and think about- theyre lesbians 100% though). A major moment for Eef is meeting his partner Seth. As you already know Ethan and Seth are cute ass boyfriends and stuff but guess what! im jammed their story full of angst and edgy shit bc i "wrote" most of this when i was hella depressed! Anyways Seth's family is like moderally welathy, wealthier than most i would say. Seth catches feelings for the emo chick ofc (forgot to metion Eef was definately a hot goth girl before he transitions).... uh yea anyways seth ends up flirting and crushing on eef and eef is like yea sure im bored and sad why not. and they end up dating after a while. Theres an important moment in their relationship when Ethan take Seth to this dead tree. THis dead tree is very important also bc it is where his mother hanged herself, and Ethan doesnt quite remember that bc he was very young when it happened, but he knows it as a place of comfort and he goes there alot when he feels sad or alone. this tree could be taken as symbolizim but heheh ill never tell. anyways Ethan is like yo my fevorite tree and Seth is like wtf okay bro ily and all but why a dead tree with an unstable tire swing?? ANd ethans like idk but i like it here reminds me of my childhood (op my guy) and they spend the night there. Also when ethan comes out to seth as nonbinary seth is just like ok,,, because hes bisexual lol. anyways time skip and Seth has some addiction problems once he graduates, long story short- Ethan doesnt like it bc his dad was a druggie so he trys to help Seth and Seth raises his voice and ethan is tiny compared to his bf so hes naturally like terrified of being hit and he suddenly feels his world of happy and peace he build back up bieng destroyed once again so he heads to his mothers dead tree and decides life isnt worth it anymore, and he hangs himself in the exact spot his mother did.... once seth comes off one of his highs or whatever hes like- oh fuck i yelled and acted agro to my traumatized partner. and he immedatly goes to the tree bc its Ethans favortie spot but its to late. regret is the only emootion anymore... its over for them.

now youre probably wondering how the absolute hell does that tie into velvets lore?? well do i have a tale for you. Velvets sotry begins on her 21st birthday, she is out for drinks with her douchebag bf and her bestfriend. several drinks later she yells over blaring club music shes going to the restroom, and as shes walking back she sees her bf and her bestie making out and she doesnt even say anyhting and walks out alone. She is making her way back to her apartment very tipsy. She then hears a vechile driving beside her, she cant make out anyhting theyre saying and the people in the car get out and before she even relises whats going on shes thrown into the vechile and is being beaten and yelled at. She passes out as theyre driivng to somewhere. When she next awakes she is in a barn-looking place. Concreate walls painted red and straw all over the floor. she cant stand, her legs stung and so did her entire body. for several days- she doesnt know how long she stayed in this place unable to move or do anything. Weak and starving, she gathered up her last bit of strength and hung herself on a low board (havent really worked out the details on that scence bc i keep changing my mind but she does hang herself). Cut to a space of nothingness- legit nothing- exactly its impossible to imagine nothing. In the nothing sits velvet all skin and bone, and then an entity, a hooded figure with long hair, sits next to her. No words are spoke, but the entity looks at velvet longingly. Then it tears out its eye- just full on plunges its hand into its socket and rips it out. bloody mess honestly. the entity hands its eye to velvet, and she takes it. there is no thoughts here, no sound, only actions. Cut once more to a coriners room place? ya know the place with dead bodies and tables and shit- anyways a bright light emerges from dead!vevlets chest and surrounds her entire body. *cue stunned doctor mans* Velvet arises from her death with her scars healed over and... wings. Yup shes an angel now. I mean her world already had monsters and things of suppernatural belonging but- angels are rare. She makes 1 of 2 angels in their relam as of current. Angels are "made" from regrets. Regret overflowing from two sources- one long dead and the other recent. This is where ethan comes in. Ethan's regret from how he died was powerful and sad, powerful enough for his spirt- an entity- to reach Velvets. Velvet too, had much regret in her death. So young and so many things that could have been avoided. In the days following up to her death in the barn/cellar she only felt regret. Regret for all she did and all she didnt do. So much pain summoned the entity. Their powerful forces of regret pulled them together and allowed Velvet to return- but at a price for the both of them. the entity lost its eye- symbolizing a loss of humanity and conscientiousness. While Velvet lost herself, she no longer can view her world in the same way. She has severe ptsd- like episodes and halucinations. She cant go back, she has to live through he own grief. Velvets appearnace also changes quite a bit. Her hair got longer, she has two sleek gray wings on her back, and- one of her eyes are purple now. why does it hrut her to see that eye? why is it all so familiar yet far away. Her human brain can hardly understand all the changes. But she was gifted this- she knows she must try. And luckily for her society sees angels as higher beings. They are given the umost respect but they are also greatly feared because of how misterious their origins are. The only other known angel meets with velvet quite alot through her story, he will act as a sort of guide/plot device to make things a bit easier for myself (havent worked out his lore tho or even a design for him hjbfkjsdb). Anyways im tired and its 1:35 am so thats all the lore you get for now, plus its the stuff ive thought about the most so- i dont really want to think any furtherb ahead yet lol. to many little things to work out...... i love creating but oml typing hurts after an hour or so-

Omg this is so long. If you're still here, here are some of the works that I'm proud of. 1)This itsay set. This was my first time doing big gifs and although this is loooong I like how this turned out, specially the colouring. 2) This cause do I do anything except 2g shitposting? No <3 I had this idea even before s2g aired but decided to wait so that I have more shots from s2g and I'm glad I did cause Earn basically got confirmed as a wlw so (Also special thanks to Terry cause the Man and Air hc were hers,her phd brain ikr) 3)This cause dcjsdjidi SARAWATINE SOULMATES. I love how the colouring turned out despite the fact that ps crashed halfway and I lost the gifs i spent 2 hours colouring. I tried to do this with scenes from the series only but couldn't cause wHen YoU aRe wItH yOuR cAmeRA SHOW US goddammit. If this was ao3 this would've been tagged as Tine teepakorn loves Sarawat guntithanon xD 4) Still2gether textposts obviously. I KNOW that 90% people follow me for my 2g shitposting and I got an ask once saying how were they so accurate and the reason for that is I spent HOURS on these. Atfirst it took a long time but after a while I got the hang of it. It was fun (though sometimes tiring) to make these after each ep aired. This morning Wanda and Nat came bursting into your room at the ungodly hour of 7 am. To some, 7 am wasn’t early, but try having a pre-birthday dinner with the Avengers the night before and then we'll talk.

“(y/n) c’mon get up! We are going birthday shopping!”

You tiredly groaned and covered your head with Steve’s vacant pillow, in hopes of shunning the overly-peppy women away. It’s not that you didn’t appreciate their kind gesture, but birthday shopping was the last thing on your to do list, more in favor of getting some shut-eye.

“Nat, Wanda. I love you both, I do, but pleaseeee let me sleep.” Silence now filled the room and you assumed they had gotten the message.

Apparently you thought wrong.

Natasha then pried the pillow from your deathly grip while Wanda pulled back the bed covers, making you shiver, covered in nothing more than shorts and t-shirt. Steve must’ve set the thermostat to polar again.

Not all us can be fine while in the ice for seventy years, sir.

“We got teaaaa.” That’s all it took. Wanda’s tempting offer made you hop up from the bed. You passed them and made a beeline straight for the kitchen, not caring about your messy appearance.

Before you made it four steps out the door, Natasha grabbed you by the shoulders, turning you to look at her and Wanda.

“Oops, forgot to mention you have to get ready first!” Her smirk made you sick, as you scowled at her, pouting like a child on your way to the bathroom, complying to their orders.

“You two are cruel.”

Wanda and Natasha then high fived at their small victory, actually heading to the kitchen to make you tea, for real this time. By 9 am, the three of you had already made it out of the compound and to the bustling and ever famous, 5th Avenue. In all your years spent in New York, not once had you stepped foot on 5th Avenue. When you made your confession to Wanda and Natasha, you were sure they’d die right on the spot. So now, you three giddy women went to all the fancy and exquisite stores, not actually buying but just looking for your own entertainment.

You hadn’t known, but Wanda and Natasha were helping out Steve who was planning his very own surprise for your birthday.

“Guys, be serious.” Steve was now using his Captain voice, he clearly meant business.

How to get more YouTube views

That’s the perennial question for every YouTuber, isn’t it. How do you find your audience--who is out there, and how do you get their attention? It always strikes me that YouTubers who frequent internet forums with these questions seem totally unaware that they themselves are somebody’s audience, too. They’ve come to think of themselves as “creators”, as separate entities floating in space, woefully out of touch with the people on Earth. What does your audience want to watch? That isn’t the right question to ask. What do you want to watch?

If you’re desperate for viewers, try this: use thumbnails with half-naked girls. Use suggestive, sensationalist clickbait titles: “The day I almost DIED”, “The REAL REASON nobody buys APPLE anymore”, “Russia HACKED me!”, and so forth. Leave your links everywhere, spam people. Clutter your thumbnails with red circles and exclamation points. Congratulations, you’ve attracted 2,000 viewers now and lost all your dignity.

Walt Disney used to say, “Quality always wins”. It’s not entirely true, but as a strategic philosophy, I like it better than the one described above.

I’ve recently set up a second channel, a separate channel, called Humanivideo.

Every day I upload a few classic copyright-free cartoons, usually Popeye or Betty Boop, cartoons that I loved as a kid and that I still rate highly. I could have named the channel Retro Classics Spectacular or Vintage Cartoons Galore Paradiso, but me being me I had to give it a weird, unappealing name of course. The channel art is supposed to be ugly, but, again me being me, I took great care into making it look ugly. Originally Humanivideo was intended to be just a budget channel, a promo tool, a “gateway” of sorts to my real channel, Tales from Weirdland, but again, me being me, I’ve taken on the role of amateur curator and try to present these cartoons well, with nice thumbnails, the best video quality, some handy information in the description box, and more.

And another thing is, by uploading old cartoons to that side channel I can keep up a regular uploading schedule, and thus please YouTube’s algorithms, which are inherently animator-unfriendly as they reward creators who upload often and publish longer videos. (Animation is months of work for minutes of screen time.) In a way, it’s like I’m sending out Popeye and Betty Boop as vedettes every day, as travelling salespersons. “Go and tell people about Tales from Weirdland!” You just have to be a little creative in the marketing department.

The 1939 Popeye cartoon Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp (1939) is one I remember very well. Of the three Popeye Color Specials by the Fleischer Studios, that is the one that made the biggest impression on me as a kid. It was actually one of the first things I looked for when I discovered YouTube. There's a wonderful balance between the funny and the creepy, and the music is great and suggestive throughout. I love the vibrant colors, even though they faded somewhat. The backdrops are all little pieces of art, and atmospheric, the sight gags are nifty. “The laaaamp....” “I’m a feesh!” I’m positive that the cartoon helped to shape my artistic character.

Another animated short that I have really fond memories of, is Betty Boop’s Birthday Party (1933). It’s just a wonderful piece of work, with all these rubber hose characters bouncing and swinging, and singing. My grandfather was one of the first people to own a VCR, and this was one of the first cartoons he taped--for me. I watched it endlessly, and even now, many years later, the birthday song occasionally gets stuck in my head. "This is Betty's birthday party daaaaash...." 1933--Marilyn Monroe was 5 years old. The Golden Gate Bridge was being built. And Hitler, well... Look at the birthday cake though: Betty Boop is 14 years old.

I’m always fascinated by the voices in these cartoons. They’re the voices of ghosts. They’re coming to us through old wires, resonate through hollow tubes, their tinkling merriment long gone. You’re listening to the dead, but they themselves don’t know that they are dead.

Betty Boop cartoons were pretty raunchy actually, for their time. Before the Hays Code in 1934 (officially the “Motion Picture Production Code”), which imposed moral restrictions upon motion pictures, it was basically: be as suggestive as you want; you can tease, be naughty, show glimpses of underwear, wink, nudge. This Code lasted until 1968, after which Hollywood degenerated into the Gomorrah that it is now. The Betty Boop cartoons never recovered from the restrictions: in the later cartoons, she’s demure and boring, and most of the stories center around her dog and his wacky shenanigans.

The reason the Code affected Betty Boop cartoons, by the way, is because they were theatrical cartoons: they weren’t shown on television--there was no television--they were shown in theatres, before a main feature or as part of a Saturday matinee. “Many people don’t realize that”, as my brother used to say whenever he had finished some trivia-filled monologue to an uninterested audience.

So anyway, that’s my Humanivideo channel. It’s my own little Library of Congress. Like Tales from Weirdland, Humanivideo features videos that I’d want to watch myself. That has always been my main interest in doing all this, this YouTube stuff. Perhaps you’ve noticed, non-existing reader, but I never ask viewers to like, subscribe, share, and so forth, i.e. encourage viewers to “take action”, as it’s called in YouTube guides. Broadly speaking, my philosophy is that if I have to remind people to do all those things, something’s not working right.

The only thing I take into account when uploading new videos is: what are the best times to upload? The answer, apparently, is Thursday/Friday in the afternoon, as this gives Google/YouTube the opportunity to process your stuff in time for its busiest hours in the evening. So upload between 12-3 PM when you’re in LA, and between 9-11 PM when you’re in Europe. Saturday is OK too, or Sunday if Saturday isn’t possible. But I’d avoid Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, unless you’re a big YouTube star, in which case it doesn’t matter obviously.

Right.

Currently I’m working on a pretty elaborate, ambitious Star Wars-themed video. Should be good. Anyway, until next time.
