y’all this fic broke me. whoever suggested it owes me emotional compensation. but it also hurt so good. it’s in first person which may turn off some people but i promise it’s worth the read

twisted wonderland, rookpel with a hint of jackpel

it’s painfully hard finding dead dove/whump content with my fav pomefiore boys, but this is absolutely perfect

First things first, the earrings are coming off. They not only do they remind Muzan of his 400-year-old PTSD but they’re also sort of Yoriichi’s mark – one that Muzan certainly does not want on his Tanjiro! Same for the scar. Tan may not be a demon so he can’t heal it but he will be wearing bandages over it, or at least cover it up with a foundation.

Tanjiro doesn’t live in the Infinity Fortress, let alone in his home! Instead, he stays at one of Muzan’s private estates, alone most of the time as Muzan is a very busy man. Sometimes one of the Upper Moons brings him some food but that’s really all the interaction he’s allowed. Forget his fellow slayers or even his family visiting him, ever.

Naturally, this takes a toll on Tanjiro’s mental health. Having nobody but Muzan as a company slowly makes him more and more dependant on the demon and before he knows it, Muzan’s approval and presence bring him peace of mind he didn’t know before.

Muzan especially likes to mark Tanjiro, even if nobody else would ever see. He sometimes goes overboard and then has to leave Tan recover sometimes even for a few months but whenever that happens, he’s around much more, tending to his bedridden partner. It’s not like he would ever entrust anyone else with that.

"I assure you that you would not be bored with me!" I said while jumping on the spot, my perverse smile reappeared "By the way, can I wear your hat?" I ran behind him.
