YESS WE WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE FANKIDS ‼️

Hhhhdhdgshgd I’m very shy abt them but I’m gonna be brave since a couple of y’all were curious!! :’> here they are!!

There’s four of em and their names are Maisie, Lacey (short for Shoelace), Crowbar and Junior. They were born tiny, hairless and wrinkly and developed the ability to zoom around and track smells before they managed to open their eyes so they start terrorizing Jimmy Two Teeth before they can even see him, they’re like a horrible mix of naked mole rats and piranhas lmaoooo

Also here is the first drawing I ever did of them :’)

When I was designing them I felt like there were already so many fankids out there that are a really perfect fusion of both of Sam and Max’s looks, and I wasn’t crazy about trying to do it myself so I just made an army of little maxlets. The Maxlings, if you will! But I did give them longer tails in later drawings and Crowbar has floppy ears like Sam, so they didn’t completely skip his genes jfkhsgs ^^; I have planned out how they came to be but I’ll probably put that in a different post (maybe I’ll even write a little thing for it teehee that might be fun). But I can describe them a little here!!

Maisie is the oldest (as in the first one to be found, they weren’t really born in the traditional sense so \_:p_/) and she just really loves sharp objects lmao. She is mostly non-verbal, but in kind of a Ferb way where she’ll occasionally throw out a cryptic one-liner and mostly remain silent with kind of an ominous stare. Her sisters and brother are completely unfazed by this and have absolutely no fear of her, but she loves being scary to everyone else. She constantly seems like she’s about to commit an act of incredible violence but she doesn’t like to be caught doing it, so it’s all off-screen. She feels like it’s scarier that way. Max is very proud of her.

Lacey (Shoelace, because she used one as a teething toy as a baby which is baffling because neither of her dads wear shoes where did it come from??) is one of the middle kids. She likes dressing up and bounces around between masc and femme and both and neither. She also likes chatting a mile a minute with Crowbar, and she’s less of a twig than her sisters. Later in life she might try and get a lil buff like Sam. She mostly likes to go along with her sisters’ ideas because her head is pretty empty a lot of the time, and she’s slightly less inclined to jump to violence than they are. But only slightly. She also maybe picks up Sam’s habit of grabbing random items.

Crowbar is the other middle kid and fairly precocious. She’s the first one to unlock language capabilities (I have a comic about that I can post later!), and she loves trying to imitate Sam’s vocabulary. Not that she’s, like, good at it yet, but she’s trying lmao. She’s always very cheerful and bouncy and probably the most likely to cry a little if something goes wrong, but also frequently swings back around to bouncy happy and tends to forget whatever upset her immediately. She swings violently back and forth between having zero thoughts and being head full many thoughts that she has to babble loudly all at once.

And Junior is the youngest, the smallest, the baby of the family. He’s very shy and sensitive, and his sisters are like his own personal bodyguards lmao. He has a lot of sensory issues that his dads make sure to help him with, like getting him soft clothes and a noise cancelling beanie (bc he ears not really suited to headphones) and shooting out overhead lights when they’re too bright for him hdkdhshs. He also likes napping in Sam’s pockets and under his hat and Max loves carrying him around like the baby he is. He’s also a creative little dude and he likes drawing (and also eating the crayons afterward).

All four of them are little goblins who have no concept of morality (like even Junior, he may be skittish but he still condones violence and chaos hdkdhshs) and will eat almost anything. They are truly their fathers’ children shjfjjdgdjshsh, and speaking of which Sam and Max are thrilled to have them around and completely obsessed with them hehe. They pretty much just carry on with their cases like usual except now they have a small pack of land piranhas that they can sic on difficult suspects lmaoooo

And I have some more sketches of them I can post, too!! So I’ll probably bounce back and forth between that and the virtues for a bit hehe :>

oopsie here's an unsolicited sae analysis post

Too lazy to add photos so you guys are going to have to survive with just text lmao (warning! long post!!!!)

I feel that sae's biggest issue is his relationship with failure. Like every gifted kid expected to perform, sae has no idea how to react when things don't go his way. Unsurprisingly, he's a control freak (rin says himself that the reason sae chose shidou is because he'd be able to control a "demon" nobody else could) so things always *have* to go his way, and when they don't, he kinda bluescreens almost.

The earliest form of sae failing to accept losses or just being wrong in general is when rin and sae are eating ice cream together. Rin wins and sae loses, but sae instead turns it into rin "losing" and sae "winning" by telling rin that he shouldn't waste his luck on something like that. Yet, it's clear in sae's initial reaction of disgust upon seeing the losing result that he doesn't truly believe that. He just hates losing *that* much and is a stubborn bitch so he then proceeds to never correct this belief over the course of literal years. Sae cannot in any way shape or form accept defeat and grow from it. He is almost like the opposite of isagi. He cannot consolidate and adapt.

Delusion time for a moment: there is kinda no basis for this interpretation, but i feel that the ice cream scene can be applied to sae and rin themselves. What i mean by that is, i believe rin is actually more talented than sae. Some circumstantial evidence for this includes: rin's very first play/moment on the field is him pulling off honestly a crazy move for a toddler who's never played. The smoke effect that represents ego is immediately present as well. Additionally, sae's egoist bible profile includes that he asked santa to show him his yet discovered talent, which then can be interpreted as sae believing he doesn't have talent (vs. rin who does). Or, it could just be sae joking lmao he's a pretty funny dude after all.

Basically, when looking at the itoshi flashback through this lense, a lot of moments are recontextualized. Sae immediately approaches rin after rin first plays and says he'll be the best *after* sae, almost as to reign in rin's talent so he never dreams something beyond what his brother can do. His cruelties could possibly stem from jealousy.

Sae is forced to contend with immense pressure from all around him while rin can mostly play carefree. Sae is japan's greatest treasure and therefore must perform for the sake of his entire country. Rin just obeys his instincts as a child and everything works out. He even mentions after sae leaves for spain that without sae, soccer is restricting essentially because sae paved a path for rin and took on that "restrictiveness" upon himself. So two things rin has that sae doesn't: talent and freedom. This obviously worsens after the spain trip.

(quick aside: cannot believe sae was sent to a foreign country alone that does not 100% love accommodating foreigners for FOUR YEARS. AS AN ADOLESCENT. LIKE THOSE ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT DEVELOPMENT YEARS.)

Now we return to the point of sae being unable to accept failure and such. Unlike what we have seen from the blue lock boys, being faced with the world makes sae cower and fail himself before the world does. He deems being the best striker impossible and switches to midfielder without really trying his absolute hardest in order to become the best. Unable to learn and grow from failure and unable to accept a loss, sae basically self sabotages when he changes his dream. Once again though, sae's stubborn as shit, so when he changes his dream he goes all in on it.

Even still, when sae returns he isn't 100% on the idea. He goes to see rin, likely the first person he sought out after returning, basically just for some validation. After 4 years of being valued for nothing other than soccer, i feel that sae probably just wanted comfort from his brother that isn't really connected to soccer. Rin then proceeds to reject sae's new dream and boom every resentment bottled up between the two explodes.

When sae plays rin, his goal *is* to crush rin's dream like his own was. He desperately wants to prove to himself that his choice to change wasn't wrong by showing up rin, his "more talented" brother. He wins, but isn't happy about it at all.

I think we all know that sae doesn't literally mean what he says when he then tells rin to quit. A lot of it is projection and defense mechanisms. But once again, he cannot accept defeat or admit to wrong doing so he doesn't. And then, again, the stubbornness comes back to prevent him from changing later down the line. Sae still loves rin of course and watches over him in his own way (watch sae's reactions to rin during the u20 match for proof of this), but yeah. Older sibling moment!!! He is never wrong :)))))

Sailor Moon: An Accurate Representation of Girlhood

⚠️SPOILER WARNING⚠️

I was about eleven years old when I started watching Sailor Moon. I watched the new dub, with no censorship, on Hulu.

At that time the “not like other girls” movement was going hella strong, causing everyone to be a pick me, essentially. It was the worst thing ever, trust me, with everyone in my silly little middle school trying to be “one of the boys.” What really sucks is that I was no exception. So me, a tween girl who was low-key ashamed of her femininity watching Sailor Moon kinda left an impact.

When I first started watching, I was like “this is NOT how a teen girl acts.” (Which is kinda ironic for a literal kid to say). Usagi Tsukino introduced herself as this fourteen year old girl who was boy-crazy, ditsy, and clumsy. She was not that relatable at the time, as I couldn’t picture myself as this crybaby sweetheart of a person. I was an overachiever with straight A’s who had “my entire life” all planned out super young. How could I ever relate to that silly goose?

But then low and behold: I turned fourteen and everything made sense.

Hormones go crazy, I was an emotional wreck. I cried every night, just like Usagi, for no good reason. I was irritable, and actually a crybaby (and still am 😱). I started developing closer bonds to girls my age, and the “not like other girls” trend died down. Also, it turns out that I did NOT have my entire life figured out, and in fact, had this horrific fear of growing up. I was still watching Sailor Moon, but now when I watched it, I could look at her and go “dude she’s literally me.”

Of course, everyone experiences their teenage years differently. Everyone has different personalities and paths in life. But I think many people could relate to her human fears and the bonds she has with other people.

And I mean, ESPECIALLY THE BONDS.

Growing up, you find your “group.” Like “your people,” that will kinda just be with you for the rest of your life almost. When I was eleven, I obviously couldn’t comprehend that, and making friends was hard. But as I grew older, I came to understand the whole “girls support girls” kinda thing and became more open to more people in my life.

Usagi also experiences different kinds of relationships and dynamics with each of her friends, which is very accurate to real life friendships. Even in a friend group, you will have a different kind of dynamic with each different person, and that’s BEAUTIFUL!

Usagi also experiences romance and crushes; which is not just hinted at Mamoru.

Usagi and her group have a small crush on Haruka, aka Sailor Uranus. Later on in the last season, there is a hunted dynamic between Usagi and Seiya, a non gender conforming character in the anime (though identifies as a woman in the manga).

And this was amazing for me, a now teen girl getting to know herself and her sexual orientation. It felt great to know that this super feminine girl, who was literally me, didn’t just like men. It sounds so weird to say out that loud, but it’s how I truly feel. It made me feel safe, and seen. I could be girlypop AND like any gender I pleased.

In addition, as I mentioned before, the fear of growing up is there. Especially the fact that she has no choice BUT TO grow up, as she’s literally holding the universe together.

This relates to real life because your teenage years also play a big part in adulthood. Growing up, you kinda hear the whole “don’t screw up” thing left and right. But what happens when you do mess up? What happens when you don’t want to go to college, have trouble getting a license, and don’t know what to do with your life?

There’s a lot on a teenager’s plate. And there’s a lot on Usagi’s too.

And finally, we get to the controversial topic. The last episode.

Homegirl saves the world. Naked.

You may be like “what does this have to do with girlhood and growing up?” Well simple. She rebuilds the world. It’s ok to start over. It’s ok to make a new life for yourself and the people you love.

And as for the naked part, it represents purity. And I don’t mean the socially constructed kind, it means the pure intentions in your heart. (No this isn’t a stretch, this was the anime’s INTENTION).

Then it makes sense. It’s ok to be a teenage mess. It’s ok to not have anything figured out. Friendships, romance, sexuality, those things will be figured out as time passes by. As long as you are a good and kind person, the world won’t be so bad.

saw a post complaining abt the mistreatment of female characters in the trolls movies i thought i was going crazy.

sorry if i always complain abt this and it makes me sound perfomative or smth but it truly does make me angry 😭😭

its abt veener having these sympathetic scenes while barb barely get an apology after wt. how the villains on the 3 movies r a evil bossy woman and a dumb dude. then u have viva w a fucking CRAZY backstory 20 years of trauma and counting who is pushed into supporting cast bc the male bro has kids. who the fuck cares abt bruce. why branch keep getting all the baggage and abandoment issues and character development while poppy who is the "protagonist" has been pushed in the emotional support gf role uwu despite all the pressure of being a good queen + being raised in a toxic positivity CULT + literally dated creek + also didnt she go gray after disappointing her village? shes the whole driving force of trolls world tour but when she and branch break up its focused on how BRANCH feels. and not poppy, who didnt realize how much harm she was causing to her loved ones until they were gone.

HI anon from yesterday here again... thank you so much for your response yesterday especially because oh my god you are so right. about everything. also i am 10000000 times more crazy and insane now. like. LIKE. My daily routine. step one think about "you're family now." step two get enlisted into the mental hospital

as much as i am so so So sad and disappointed that luz and hunter don't have so much more time onscreen together perhaps it's for the best their development (in the human realm mostly) was off screen because truly i would not survive. like you said hunter did nothing but be an asshole to her every single time they met but luz is just such a good person she never gave up on trying to befriend him and knew that he was just a good person in a horrible place. Im crazy. you're right that ABSOLUTELY gives bro sleepless nights. and how id say they Get each other some of the best out of the hexsquad, because of their secrets and i mean the Horror of hollow mind and belos can only really be understood by someone who was also there y'know..

and ofc this goes for all the kids + camila but i wonder how horrible and even guilty hunter felt when he learned luz almost DIED being petrified by belos on the day of unity, because in his mind he'd probably see that as his fault, and conveniently ignore how belos likely would've killed him the second he saw him if luz didn't switch there places. Alright! Thanks for asking!

Judith first.

My first impression of them: Ok, so. I honestly don't remember. I played Vesperia for the first time 14 years ago and I do not remember first meeting her. I'm going to guess it was... "Cool!" Although given how early I started shipping Yuri/Judy, it may have been, "Wow... she should kiss Yuri." Although, I suppose the actual first impression of her was probably, "Who's that dude on the dragon? This guy is cool." Followed by, "Oh, she's hot!"

4. How many people I ship them with: I think... 3. No, 4. I multiship like crazy and after so many years in this fandom I've at least enjoyed considering a huge array of ships. But mostly I ship her with Yuri as my number one preference. And then if not that, Estelle is also good. And Judith/Flynn is also very fun, and I've enjoyed thinking about Judith/Rita too. Also one time I wrote a three-sentence fic about Judith/Kaufman and you know? That's kinda fun to think about.

6. My least favorite ship of them: Obviously there is a whole range of very niche ships that are incredibly squick, but probably my least favourite partner of semi-common Judith ships is Raven.

10. Describe the character in one sentence. A quiet women who is actually quite intense and passionate but keeps all that shit tightly bottled up

11. What’s the first thing you think about when thinking about the character? Just a sort of :) vibe. Cool. Chill. Will beat you to death. An unflappable surface layer that you've got to then dig into to get to the juicy stuff.

20. A weird headcanon: She doesn't really "talk" to Ba'ul, it's more a sharing of emotions, ideas, and images without language. And spending so many years only communicating with him in this manner is why she comes off a bit strange talking to other people.

18. How do you think they were as a kid? (Like, were they shy, noisy, wild, etc) I think she was very curious. Her father was an academic, so she probably got some of that craving for knowledge from him. Probably a bit of a loner, off exploring nature and examining bugs and climbing trees.

And now Flynn!

2. When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like) As with Judith, I first played this game so long ago that I don't remember exactly. I know I already expected to like him before we even met him just from the way they talked about him. He sounded like my type. The way he enters the story crashing in to save Yuri's ass, then telling him off, bantering a bit and then immediately getting glomped by Estelle probably sold him to me.

4. How many people I ship them with: Since I tend to fall under the multishipping strategy of "my fave + everyone else," uhhh a lot. So in rough order of prominence.... Estelle is my Vesperia OTP. Yuri can be cool too. As mentioned above, Judith is also fun to explore. I tend to like his relationship with Raven as more of a friendship/mentor thing, but a ship can be interesting to think about too. I've thought about how to make it work with Sodia, too, because she needs to do a lot of growth and their relationship would have to evolve and it would be interesting to develop that. Flynn/Alexei is also one of my favourite angst ships. So that's 6 people so far!

8. Your favorite outfit of them. I like the casual hot spring outfit where he's just wearing shorts and a t-shirt. He's so uptight all the time, it's nice to see him relax and dress casually for once.

9. Your least favorite outfit of them. Ok... possibly my most unpopular Flynn opinion but. This one.

It just. Does not do it for me. The fur? The monocle? Looks like Playboy Bunny fucked Mr. Peanut and I do not care for this at all.

21. When do you think they were at their happiest?

Flynn has been under a lot of stress for a long time, and once the game ends he will continue to be under a lot of new stress as they have to start dealing with the ramifications of what they've done. But right now? This moment? This is the calm between two storms and he's so at peace, everything is working out. The Adephagos is defeated, his friendship with Yuri is solid once again, Yuri is thriving and Flynn is so happy for him and also proud of him, he's no longer worrying about Estelle or the succession or an imminent war with the guilds, the Knights are in his hands and on the right track.... Tonight, everything is perfect, and he can worry about what comes next in the morning.

22. When do you think they were at their lowest?

The confrontation with Alexei at Yormgen. The last time he saw Yuri, things were at a breaking point between them. There was the disaster with Belius, he's close to losing his best friend, and he's pushing himself to the limit to follow Alexei's orders with the belief it's for the greater good even if it doesn't sit right with him. Then suddenly he pulls up at Yormgen to realize that everything he's done was not only pointless, but also actively harmful. He's been played this whole time, one of his closest friends has been abducted by a man he thought he could trust, Yuri is rightfully furious with him, and what the hell is he supposed to do now?

28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did? Well... I just talked above about how everything he did for Alexei was unnecessary. But you know what else? This.

What's with the wet suit, Flynn? Unnecessary. Go tits out like everyone else.

Christmas had just passed and Alec could not have been happier. His mom had saved up to get him a guitar, knowing he had been asking since his birthday. Going into middle school, he had the opportunity to join the music class and learn to play but he wanted an instrument he could keep himself. Overjoyed after receiving the gift, he had set his mind to learn to play some of his favorite songs at the moment. He had acquired Dude Ranch from a friend, ultimately the catalyst for the direction Alec’s life would take.

Alec had just started his first real job, at the local record shop a month or so prior. In those few weeks, he hand begun to notice a pattern, the same few kids coming in in search of a very particular genre of music. In the year he had been in Merrock, Alec had yet to make friends who enjoyed post-hardcore as he did. That was until he struck up a conversation with one of those boys, a classmate at Merrock’s high school. He learned that the boy was a part of a band, and that band as of recent was in need of a new guitarist. Apparently, word had made it around that the guy from LA played just that, and he had been asked to audition if interested. It didn’t take Alec much convincing, when he arrived to an unfamiliar home, guitar in hand. If that was going to be how he made friends and truly integrate himself into he social scene in Merrock, he was willing to give it a shot. All he could hope for now was that the rest of the already established band found him capable.

It was getting tiring not being taken seriously, when he clearly did being in demand elsewhere. He shot a look of pure annoyance and frustration over to the bassist as their ideas had been swapped before completely scrapped. When all creative decisions had begun to feel like one man’s play for control, Alec had to come to the harsh realization that the band probably wasn’t going to make it much longer. Some people did it for the music, some for the fame, and some for the chance to feel like a god.

It was a rare day off in Massachusetts before the next show date, which for Alec meant being close enough to home to see friends and family. And, by friends and family, he meant his longtime girlfriend. He made the drive back out to Merrock, knowing that she had planned out the day for them. In return, he was planning on bringing her back out for the show the next day so that they could spend as much time together as possible before he was back out on the road in two days. This was especially necessary as tour was heading south then out west for it’s remainder and he wouldn’t have the opportunity to be home until the end of the summer. It was the early hours of Monday when he pulled into Merrock. Upon seeing his girlfriend, he immediately relaxed into her embrace as he gently wrapped his arms around her and placed a soft kiss atop her forehead. Nothing ever quite felt like arriving back home after months on the road.

One week. He would be back home in Merrock in one week. Alec crashed down in the seating area of the tour bus with a heavy sigh. His head fell into his heads as he attempted to settle his emotions and avoid a blow up. This was becoming routine and he hated it. He stood back up, tossing his iPhone on the couch, only to return to it upon retrieving a bottle of Jameson from the cabinet. Aggressively uncapping the bottle, he took a large gulp, and then another. If he could jump on a plane across the country at this very moment, he absolutely would. But he couldn’t. He inhaled deeply, exhaling a groan of frustration. He didn’t know what else she expected of him. Touring was his job. He understood that the distance for months at a time was a difficult adjustment, but after two months on the road, it wasn’t like he wasn’t feeling it too. In fact, if he could have brought her along, he would have. But she had a life too, and she needed to live that life without his job coming in the way. That didn’t mean that he didn’t care, that he didn’t love her. He just didn’t understand how the best option was breaking up. For good. He stared down at his call log, knowing he should probably leave it alone for the night. Maybe they could work it out in the morning. Or he would be coming home no one. God, he needed something stronger than Jameson to forget for the night.

Alec had a few months off from touring, and although he was in and out of the studio, he was able to return home to Merrock for a large portion of his time off. It was weeks into his time home that he found himself somewhere he hoped he would be again, but never thought would work out. He had reunited with his ex-girlfriend. Upon waking in the morning, it took a minute for Alec to come to the realization of what had taken place the night before. A chance run in at a local bar, or as much by chance it could be in a small town. Alcohol. And a trip back to his place. He turned to see the empty bed beside him, disappointed. That was when the small detail of their conversation the night prior came flooding back. No strings attached.

Seventeen, and coming clean for the first time I finally figured out myself for the first time

Alec had spent a significant portion of his life in love with one girl. And since the end of their relationship nearly six years prior, he had spent his time entertaining a number of women but never having gotten serious with anyone else. From California to Maine, he left a trail of hook ups and broken hearts behind. However, in those same six years he had had the time and opportunity to get to know himself. With that came the admission to himself that throughout his life, he had also felt an attraction to men. Having come to terms with such a huge part of his life, it still took additional courage to let anyone else that he was close to in on that part of him. Eventually, he realize that at some point, he would have to share it with at least the closest person in his life, his mother. As he climbed the steps up to her front door, he fiddled with his shirt collar out of nervousness. Here went nothing.

It was approaching the end of tour, everyone was getting tired and apparently tired of each other. Alec had gone out with his band and members of a couple of other bands on the tour. Sometime in the last few hours, some people had gotten far more inebriated than the rest. Alec hadn’t even realized that included members of his own band, busy talking a potential collaboration with another band. That was until fists started flying. Alec sighed upon realizing one of his band mates was involved, and the other was someone Alec had not quite gotten along with since his earliest of days in the industry. In his attempt to pull his own band mate away, Alec ended up becoming the aggressor’s target. If he wanted a fight, he was going to get a fight.

It was a Wednesday night and Alec was waiting for the band to arrive for practice. Since his return to Merrock full time, Alec had tried to not dive back into music. However, that goal didn’t last long. He had now formed a new band, including new friends he had made since his return. They had began to play gigs at local venues in Merrock and surrounding towns. It may not be national touring, but it helped Alec cope with the adjustment to “normal life”. He made his way to the room he had built out into a practice space/recording studio, glancing over to the art on display of albums he had worked on in the past. Hearing the back door open, he was pulled out of his reminiscing of the touring days back to present day. While his more mainstream days may be over, he was determined to have all of the fun he could with his newfound group.

BnHA 326: What’s up Kids, It’s Me, Your Old Pal Stain

Previously on BnHA: Ochako shamed the U.A. Clown Mob into letting Deku go back inside his own fucking school by giving them an hour-long speech about how not to be humongous dickheads. Kouta and Gigantic Fox Lady saved the manga by being the only ones brave enough to give Deku a hug. Shouto was all “man, all this togetherness sure does remind me of that promise you made that we would handle Touya together which you immediately bailed on, doesn’t it, Dad.” Aizawa was all, “for the one and a half people out there who thought that my losing an eye and a leg might actually make me less sexy, I’m very happy to prove you wrong.” All Might was all, “[standing outside the U.A. fortress alone in the rain talking to someone or something??].” Like seriously, what was up with that though.

Today on BnHA: All Might is all “here I am in Kamino having a belated mid-life crisis because Deku abandoned me and I’m a terrible mentor and everything sucks and I hate myself.” Stain is all, “don’t make me come over there and give you a ten page speech about why you’re still the goat while menacingly holding you at swordpoint the entire time” because idk if you knew this guys, but Stain is pretty crazy actually. Anyway so he does that, and then All Might gets all emotional, and then the lady from chapter 92 shows up and gives All Might’s statue an encouraging pep talk, and then Horikoshi is all “and it even stopped raining lol can you believe this shit I’m not even a little bit subtle,” and he really isn’t. But I still got emotional anyway, because seeing people reassure All Might that everything he’s struggled for his entire life hasn’t been in vain just got to me okay. Horikoshi knows I am weak to the All Might feels and he just goes for the jugular every time, that bastard.

Broski I have never felt this way about a series like this. I was never a Gojou person until you showed up on my dash and let me tell you, you have a gift. Like I’ve said in the reblogs I have about Sincerely Not, I never felt the emotions like the ones I had since reading this Fic. My heart has felt exactly how Y/n’s and it seriously is killing me. My heart aches and I sob constantly to Olivia Rodrigo album and Madison Beer’s song: Reckless.

But at the same time I’m glad I stumbled upon this fic because the way I actively live through this character is wild! I never wanted to jump into a story and curb stomp a man who is supposed to be the man of Y/n’s dreams. I even cried during the first scenes of smut because of gut/ heart wrenching details you laid out in these beautiful words and it’s driving me up the wall. And the crazy part is that you still managed to make me simp for him where he seemed like he was gaining an actual fucking clue about Y/n and her feelings. And even through the constant tug of war of emotions you laid out on us, I love you for it- truly!

But let’s get to the good part- the latest chapter has me spiraling and ugly crying dude.

Why out of people does Y/n have to get the short end of the Stick? It’s bad enough she has a heart condition but now this mf has knocked up Sera? Liked dude seriously? (And to just give me a sense of hope, it wasn’t completely confirmed the bitch is pregnant. Lol please don’t hurt me more, I seriously can’t go through this pain again). I seriously want to then to have a happy ending but at this point, how can there be one? He’s an ass. He just straights up kicks salt in the wound and then pour gallons of lemon juice. And the insecurities that he keeps adding to Y/n is not fair. Like at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if he kills her from heart break. (Please don’t do that to me either omg-)

And at the same time, is it sick of me for rotting for Her and Toji to get together? He said it himself, he would bring any body who hurts her to their knees Broski! Like who fucking says that about someone they’re not with??? Not a regular “friend”, that’s for sure! There’s so much more but I don’t have the energy to keep typing because how much I’ve cried.

Anyway thanks for fucking my head up and winding me up with so many emotions. I am cheering you on for this amazing work and will be back to give you my opinions for each chapter. Please remember to drink water and take your time with your work because you’re doing amazing:)

I’ve never send and ask to anyone in tumblr, but I really need to express how impressed I’m by your writing. You have such a talent in storytelling, the world you have come to create, the characters and how you picture with words all of it it’s just out of this world.

I can’t express in any shape or form what SN does to my mind, like I can’t not explain the dimensions of feelings that your writing skills does to me, every time you update I just can’t do anything that isn’t thinking about SN for at least four hours hahaha, even if I try to read other imagines, or distract myself on Tik Tok, your story is just that great that it won’t come out of my mind.

I’m so impressed honestly, even speechless, I really hope you continue developing stories (if that makes you happy obviously <3) and remember to take care of yourself in the process 🙈

my sister and i used to be really close when we were younger but as time went on she became a mother and i'm still a college student so we barely spend time together.

but since the pandemic started i had no choice but to live with my sister to help take care of her kids because her husband can't do shit.

Danganronpa messing up Nagito's character cuz apparently even they believe headcanons

Is it just me or is Danganronpa making Nagito worse?

Like at the start we have a socially intelligent and intuitive paranoid kid who hates despair and gets forced into a killing game that is filled with everything he hates and fears

So he clings desperately to hope as a coping mechanism to deal with everything

And then in the anime, we get a social outcast (for some reason even though people would've loved his hope talks like they did back in chapter 1 since no killing game happens and he is just speaking normally)

who bombs a school (forget his paranoia apparently) and nonchalantly allows himself to get out of the island and accidentally kill 40+ soldiers (again, ignoring his paranoia of his destructive luck cycle apparently)

And then in Danganronpa 2.5 we get a socially inept, clingy hope addict who apparently doesn't have boundaries?

(We seriously ignoring how much he pushes people away back in SDR2, is afraid of having friends due to his luck cycle, respects boundaries to the max, and how socially intelligent he is and his crazy empathy to know people's hopes and despairs?)

(And no even Mikan's motivations he understood, he knew she killed for despair because she literally killed for Junko, Mikan just says he doesn't understand because she doesn't count is as killing for despair, she counts it as killing for love)

And some of the fans defend this and says Nagito is hated or is supposed to have no boundaries because of his social ineptness or inability to properly socialize

Bruh, the guy is hated sure, but boy was he awesome at being a people-person and gathering people during chapter 1

He encouraged everyone with his hope talks and Hajime even kept simping for the guy because of his positivity

And due to the guy's CRAZY HIGH EMPATHY AND UNDERSTANDING, he is able to understand the hopes and despairs of almost every freaking character

He knew Teruteru wanted to continue the culinary legacy and help his mom, that's his hope

He knew Imposter would want to protect everyone no matter what, that's his hope

He knew Mikan killed for Despair, that despair being Junko Enoshima

He knew Fuyuhiko's hope is Peko and that both of them care about each other very much

He knew how similar he and Hajime are and how they are both bystanders and lovers of Hope, for Hajime that Hope being Hope's Peak academy itself and/or having talent

The guy is crazy with how well he knows people, and he is definitely not socially inept at all

He respects boundaries, is able to read the room and the only time he seems socially inept is when he is either trying to purposefully annoy someone to get a reaction or when he is too obsessed with his ideas with hope

The guy is obsessed with hope, yes, but he is not socially inept

That is seriously downgrading how much empathy he has and how much understanding he has for every character

And Nagito does have empathy, the reason why it seems like he doesn't is because he treats the dead people like stepping stones for hope

He does have empathy tho, and too much that it takes a toll on his mental health whenever he sees dead bodies, so he clings to hope in order to cope and tries to pretend that it's okay if people die because there is always hope

(basically, deniability at it's finest)

It's not that the guy doesn't care, it's that he does a little too much

Which is why he laughs, laughing for him doesn't mean he is happy, it means he is surprised (he says this in island mode)

And seeing that his greatest fears are seeing people die constantly because of his luck cycle, wouldn't be surprised that he laughs like crazy in a literal killing game

And laughing out of stress or fear isn't unheard of, I mean there is also a thing called nervous laughter

And jesus christ, CAN PEOPLE STOP TRYING TO USE FRONTOTEMPORAL DEMENTIA SYMPTOMS TO EXPLAIN HIM?

What I mean is, yes he has dementia or is at least diagnosed with it

And I believe that he probably does actually have dementia (not saying he could've lied tho but he could've still been misdiagnosed)

But that doesn't mean he has all of the symptoms

I don't think we can confirm if he does or doesn't have dementia because he might just not have all of the symptoms

But I do know that using the symptoms to explain his character isn't a good idea especially since it usually undermines who he actually is

Like, let me explain

Behavior and/or dramatic personality changes, such as swearing, stealing, increased interest in sex, or a deterioration in personal hygiene habits

- No, and no not even when the killing game started. Yeah sure he laughs now, but that's no different from how he is normally since laughing for him is what he does when he gets surprised or stressed. He doesn't change much in the killing game, he still believes in hope and everyone else, still respects boundaries, still have crazy high intellect and empathy, still pushes people away

Socially inappropriate, impulsive, or repetitive behaviors

- not really, again the guy is a freaking gentleman even during the killing game. He respects boundaries, reprimands Teruteru for sexual assault during chapter 1, pushes people away and distances himself from others, isn't at all impulsive (usually quite the opposite really), and is usually planning and tries to remain calm and composed throughout the killing game (struggling tho cuz yeah killing game)

Impaired judgment

- here, I kinda disagree. I wouldn't say that Nagito is entirely in the right with everything he does, but I understand his views. The guy knows that no one is truly a bad person in the killing game because everyone was forced into it. He knows that even the blackened escapes and everyone dies, it isn't fully a bad thing because that means someone escapes and goes back home to their loved ones while the killing game ends

If a blackened succeeds, the despair would be of course everyone else dying and the blackened going through a lot of trauma, but the hope would be the end of the killing game and the blackened going home or to their loved ones or to their goal in life or whatever

If the blackened dies, the despair would obviously be the blackened dying and the killing game still continuing, while the hope would be everyone else still alive

Nagito isn't exactly wrong in wanting to help the blackened as well, of course, Nagito would want him himself to be the victim so another person gets a chance at escape and no one else would be the victim

Sadly for Nagito, that time never comes

Nagito doesn't want others to be killed, he wants to sacrifice himself instead as the victim instead of everyone else

Apathy

- .....big no. Nonononono. The dude is anything but apathetic.

"Apathy is a lack of feeling, emotion, interest, or concern about something."

Seriously, being a dude who is constantly supportive of everyone and their hopes in life and how passionate this dude gets about hope and despair, and the fact that he is the most stressed 24/7 about something bad happening due to his luck, this guy is seriously anything but apathetic

Lack of empathy

- No. If the guy truly lack empathy he wouldn't need to use Hope desperately as a coping mechanism, wouldn't care about the ultimates and their hopes and despairs, wouldn't constantly be thinking about helping the ultimates and overcoming despair, wouldn't be the most stressed out of everyone, and definitely wouldn't be in love with Hajime or even act the way he did in chapter 1

Decreased self-awareness

- You don't actually understand why you act the way you do.

A good indicator that you lack self-awareness deals with how well you understand your emotions, actions, and behavior. People who lack self-awareness often feel constantly off-kilter, anxious, or angry.

This is not Nagito at all. The guy understands his emotions and behaviors which is why he is able to do the things he does and is able to conduct plans based on how much he understands his own self and capabilities. The guy is actually the most self-aware out of everyone, he knows about how people don't understand him and constantly misunderstand him and his intentions, he is aware constantly of his inability sometimes to properly explain his goals to people.

The guy has a lot of self-awareness and isn't afraid to take responsibility for his actions. Actually, it's because of how self-aware he is of his own self and his destructive luck cycle that he constantly blames himself for anything bad that happens.

The guy is seriously self-aware as hell and it's scary sometimes

Loss of interest in normal daily activities

- Nope, he hasn't shown any sign of apathy towards anything and is usually pretty hyped about doing daily activities. He is paranoid though on the daily because he fears for what his luck cycle might do

Emotional withdrawal from others

- Emotional withdrawal involves bottling up your emotions. It involves cutting out the people who could help us, because we're so used to rejection that we've learned to anticipate it. Because we've learned to disconnect from others, we develop other unhealthy coping mechanisms

Emotional withdrawal is defined as pulling back emotionally or physically by bottling up your feelings or disconnecting from others. Emotional withdrawal can be far more complex at times. It is comparable to a breakup, in every way but physical.

Kind of? Yes, he pushes people away, but he is still willing to spend time with people, especially Hajime, when they really insist. He politely pushes people away, but he isn't opposed to hanging out with people either though it is sometimes rare

Loss of energy and motivation

- .... I already said it before, the guy is full of motivation and energy and passion that it is scary sometimes

Inability to use or understand language; this may include difficulty naming objects, expressing words, or understanding the meanings of words

-.....WHY IS THIS HERE? THE GUY IN THE JAPANESE DUB CONSTANTLY FLEXES HIS DAMN ENGLISH VOCABULARY DESPITE IT BEING A JAPANESE DUB

AND THE FUCKING ENGLISH WORDS HE USES ARE FANCY AND HIGH LEVEL AS FUCK THAT I FEEL SMART JUST READING THEM

Hesitation when speaking

- Definite no, the guy isn't afraid to voice his own opinions and never hesitates and can get very vocal about the things he is passionate about

Less frequent speech

- Again, definite hell no. I wouldn't be surprised if his voice lines are longer than the voice lines of everyone else combined

Distractibility

- Nope. The guy is focused on his goals constantly. No matter what he does, you can always be sure that it is for a certain goal. He pisses of Fuyuhiko? It was to get a reaction from him to confirm his suspicions about the true culprit. He lied about the rope? It was to see how Mikan would react and how the trial would go to confirm his suspicions about Mikan being the culprit?

The guy is focused like a damn soldier

Trouble planning and organizing

-.....do I seriously need to explain? This is Nagito we are talking about

Frequent mood changes

- Not really. He usually acts or reacts a certain way because something happened like someone died or something. He is actually pretty normal with how he acts and reacts and doesn't really change his mood rapidly that much

Agitation

- Yes and no? Sure the guy gets paranoid 24/7, but is still somewhat more chill than agitated to an extent. He is easy going and is just paranoid about what his luck would do, he is vigilant but not necessarily agitated

Increasing dependence

- No. The guy is independent to a fault and only relies on others when his plans call for it. He also usually does things of his own accord and rarely with a partner unless he really needs to or his goal is to help that person specifically, which knowing him is a usual thing

Unwillingness to talk

- Again, no. The guy talks a lot and while he pushes others away, he wouldn't turn down a conversation if the other person wanted one

Lack of inhibition or lack of social tact

- Again, no. The guy is a gentleman and respects boundaries and definitely gets stressed especially in the killing game. The guy is also paranoid 24/7 on a normal day due to his luck cycle

Obsessive or repetitive behavior, such as compulsively shaving or collecting items

- No? Sure he clings to hope but that is more of a coping mechanism. If he isn't in a stressful situation like a killing game he doesn't get that obsessive as much about hope since he doesn't need to desperately cling to it as a coping mechanism

Unusual verbal, physical or sexual behavior

- No? He isn't at all like this. It isn't unusual to panic or use a coping mechanism desperately when in a situation like a killing game, and he doesn't do anything unusual like this when it's a normal day. Sure the guy gets paranoid, but that's it

Weight gain due to dramatic overeating

- No? Actually, I don't really know how much weight he gains to be honest so idk

My main point here is, yes there is a chance Nagito does actually have dementia, but using the symptoms as a way to explain his character undermines who he actually is and can cause a lot of misunderstandings of his character

Especially since I remember being told that they only added in dementia to his character backstory a little late during his character development and creation

It isn't a good idea to use his symptoms because it usually gets his character wrong and sometimes makes them excuse a lot of the things he has done

The guy is self-aware, isn't socially inept, is a gentleman, and socially intelligent as hell

And I really hate how even Danganronpa itself seems to forget that

It's like they forgot who Nagito is, to begin with

My complicated opinion on Keith Kogane

Keith Kogane is definitely one of the more popular characters in the VLD fandom. People love brooding emo bad boys.

My feelings on Keith are... complicated. I definitely don’t hate him. I have a lot of problems with the character but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to actually hate him. Mainly because I kinda relate to him. We both have problems controlling our emotions, interacting with people, and making friends.

And we both have trouble believing there are people who truly have our best interests at heart and won’t abandon us because we’re a burden.

What I do hate is the way his character was written and the way it negatively impacted the characters around him.

There are definitely a lot of factors that contributed to VLD ending up the way it did. But to me, Keith and the writers insistence on pushing him to the forefront was the poison that killed the show.

Ok, before we get into this whole rant I feel like I should talk about the things I do like about Keith.

I like the premise of Keith’s character. He’s half Galra and never really fit in on Earth. He didn’t act like the other “normal” kids so kids made fun of him and adults didn’t want to deal with him. So in order to protect himself from the pain of rejection he would put up a tough angry facade and push people away and reject them before they could reject him.

This is something that really resonates with me personally having grown up neurodivergent. It’s awful growing up in a world that isn’t made for people like you and not knowing how to interact with or connect with your peers. Especially when you don’t know why you’re like that.

You learn to avoid social interaction because it always ends up negative. You put up walls because you don’t feel like anybody understands you or what you’re going through.

I know the writers probably didn’t intend to code Keith as neurodivergent. They just wanted Keith to be a hothead with abandonment issues, but nonetheless, this interpretation means a lot to me.

I also really like his relationship with Shiro. Keith is so used to being left behind and abandoned that when he meets someone like Shiro who’s patient and genuinely cares it’s new and strange. He’s so ready for Shiro to abandon him, even telling Shiro to send him back to the home, but Shiro refuses to leave him and tells Keith ethat he’s never going to give up on him.

It’s also interesting to see how their relationship develops over time. It’s clear Keith trusts Shiro, but you can tell that that fear of abandonment is still there deep down. In S2, Keith tells Shiro that he’s like a brother to him, and then in season 6, he takes the extra step and tells Shiro that he IS his brother and that he loves him. And for someone like Keith, telling their friend they love them is a big scary thing.

And also it’s just great to see a platonic “I love you,” especially between two guys. Don’t be afraid to tell your bros you love them!!!

Now let’s talk about the stuff I didn’t like.

Keith doesn’t have much going for him in terms of personality. He’s just sorta brooding and serious all the time. He does make jokes occasionally but it’s rare. The writers were more focused on making him cool and badass rather than fun.

I always loved the idea of Keith as a cocky carefree asshole who doesn’t give a shit about rules/laws and is kinda rude/aggressive but has a heart of gold deep down and would do anything for the people he cares about. (Just like a cat.)

I would also make him more alien esc. In terms of design I like the idea of Keith having red eyes with narrow pupils and fangs. And also just small things like the way he walks and holds himself. He growls and bears his teeth when he’s angry, his hair puffs up when scared, he’s fast and agile, disappearing and reappearing without making much noise, small things.

Then you have his race and sexuality. I have no doubt in my mind that Keith was intended to be a straight white dude. A lot of people see him as gay and Asian but there’s no evidence for this in canon. Acxa was originally intended to be his love interest and his race was never mentioned in canon. His name isn’t even Kogane in canon. (And the race of the voice actor doesn’t equal the race of the character. If that was the case Shiro, Hunk, and Lance would be white.)

They should’ve totally made Keith Japanese like he was in the original. It would’ve been so easy! Just canonize Kogane as his last name and have the book say he’s half Japanese half Galra. They could’ve also done what they did with Shiro and keep his og GoLion name. Just have him be Akira Kogane. Definitely cooler than “Keith.”

And as for his sexuality, I definitely think they should’ve had Keith be gay. But well get to that Later...

I also don’t like how they handled the whole Krolia thing. Not only was it crazy rushed, but it completely goes against the shows theme of found family.

Keith’s arc should’ve been about overcoming his abandonment issues and learning to accept the paladins as family. But instead they just get rid of the abandonment issues by just giving him his mom back.

I know a lot of people love Krolia but I don’t feel like she should’ve been introduced in anything other than flashbacks. Because Keith’s mom isn’t really that important. The show is about found family and friendship, not blood relation.

You can definitely have Keith learn about his mom and his family, but I feel like giving him his mom back was too much.

Personally, I always headcanoned that Kolivan was Keith’s grandfather or just a close friend of Krolia’s, and when Keith showed up at the Blade’s base Kolivan recognized the blade as his Krolia’s. Keith could learn about his mom through Kolivan telling him about her, how she was a great person and warrior who died fighting to make the universe a safer place for her son.

Another thing I didn’t like was the whole Keith leaving the team for the Blades thing. I know why he did it, he felt like the team was gonna reject him, he wanted to be more useful, and wanted to learn about his family, but I feel like you could’ve touched on all that without having him abandon his team.

One of the biggest problems with the show is that they did a bad job at establishing the paladins as friends, they feel like coworkers more than anything, and I feel like Keith being absent for two seasons contributed to that.

And his absence is hardly addressed. The team forms Voltron perfectly without him and no one ever says they miss him. Keith doesn’t even seem like he missed them after being gone for two years.

And a lot of the weight was taken out of that Keith v Kuron fight by the fact that Keith and Kuron hardly interacted.

That whole thing amounted to four things, Keith meeting Krolia (which I don’t think should’ve happened), them finding the colony (which was a dumb plot I don’t think should’ve happened), Keith aging up two years (which was weird and unnecessary), and Keith meeting Kosmo (which is... complicated).

I don’t think this plot was necessary. Keith should’ve stayed with his team.

Then you have his relationship with Lance. I know people are very sensitive about this topic. People have very strong opinions about whether or not Keith and Lance were intended to be romantically coded.

Personally, I do like Klance but I don’t believe they were romantically coded. I think if you want them to get together some things would have to go differently.

For example, the bonding moment. In canon, Lance tells Keith, “we make a good team.” I don’t see this as referring to him and Keith. I think he was talking about the whole team. If you want it to be about the two of them, I feel like it should be Lance telling Keith something like, “ya know, you’re not so bad after all,” and then Keith smiles and responds, “you’re not so bad yourself.”

Another example could be the scene where Lance comes to Keith with his insecurities. (Whether it’s as a leader or a friend.) This scene was weird in canon, Lance comes to Keith for advice and Keith basically tells him to just stop thinking about it.

I would prefer if Lance brought up to Keith how he doesn’t feel like he’s good enough or that he doesn’t have, “a thing,” and Keith is completely dumbfounded like, “what are you even talking about?” He goes on about all the good shit about Lance. Talks about how Blue chose him, how he’s a great shot, how he’s good at dealing with people, meanwhile Lance is standing there in shock as Keith says all these nice things about him.

Over all you would just have to develop their relationship more. More meaningful interactions. And if you want the relationship to be romantic you would have to establish that early on. Establish that one or both has romantic feelings for the other in like S1/S2 because if you wait too long it’s gonna feel forced/out of no where.

And then... you have the Black Paladin arc... I’m gonna be real with y’all, this is the arc that killed the show for me, for a few reasons.

One, even ignoring the whole quintessence bond thing, it makes no sense for Keith to be the bp. He doesn’t fit the role. I adore Shiro but choosing Keith as his successor was a dumb move. I get that he saw potential in Keith but they’re are fighting a war, there’s no room for favoritism.

Shiro should’ve chosen Allura as his successor. Not only does she have actual leadership experience, but you would only have one paladin in a new Lion instead of three.

If a lifeguard breaks his leg and can’t work, he should choose an experienced swimmers to take his place, not his little bro that’s still in water wings in the hopes that it’ll teach him to swim.

Two, Keith being the bp doesn’t help his arc. Keith’s arc is about overcoming his abandonment issues and learning to be a team player, he doesn’t need to be the leader for that.

VLD should’ve been about the paladins growing into the best versions of themselves they could be. Their development shown by unlocking new abilities in their respective lions, new forms for their bayards, and new Voltron bayard power ups. They shouldn’t have to change lions and themselves.

Keith and Red have a strong bond and work great together. Keith and Red are both temperamental, unpredictable, and have issues with trust. Keith having to fight to get Red to trust and open up to him mirrors how others have to fight to earn Keith’s trust and get him to let down his walls.

It would’ve been interesting to see them grow together. Keith has no emotional connection with Black.

We never even get to see them bond. Keith just suddenly becomes the “perfect” bp/leader because he got over his mommy issues

Three, it’s a MASSIVE disservice to Shiro’s character. Shiro put all the work in earning his position as the bp, he literally fits fought Zarkon on the astral plane to earn her trust, yet Keith is the true bp? What?

It sucks. Sendak told Shiro that a monster like him could never be a paladin and the writers went and proved him right. Hell Shiro didn’t even get to kill Sendak, Keith got that too.

And don’t tell me, “but he got the Atlas!” REALLY!? A massive Deus ex machina that required absolutely no effort from him to acquire!? Filled with a bunch of rando background characters no one gives a shit about!? You’re totally right, that 100% makes up for it.

I could go on and on about how the treatment of Shiro in this show (and fandom) is blatantly ableist but that’s a rant for another time.

It sucks. I want to like Keith! He had the potential to be an amazing character but the writers just kept on trying to turn him into something he wasn’t and it ruined him for me.

They kept trying to turn Keith into the main character and ignored that ALL the paladins are the main characters. It’s an ensemble cast! You don’t have to have everything come back to one guy.

1. My first impression of them.

Some combination of, "funky little dude!" and "oh boy...another manga character involved with STEM who wears a lab coat 24/7 so we as the audience know without the shadow of a doubt that he's a mad scientist." 😂

2. When I think I truly started to like them.

Watching his friendly interactions with Grelle. Even in the manga, Grelle often contends with physical violence or snide remarks from other characters, so it was a relief to finally see a reaper other than Ronald who was nice to her. :')

3. A song that reminds me of them.

Although this is technically part of an anime OST rather than a song, "L's Theme" from Death Note.

4. How many people I ship them with.

Grelle and Ronald (either individually or as a polycule). I think he and Sascha could also make an adorable couple. He and Undertaker share a complex shared history and had an acrimonious breakup.

5. My favorite ship of them.

Grellthello! It's a fun dynamic—the sassy nerd who constantly banters with (and simps over) his powerful, glamorous girlfriend. ❤️💚

Nothing really comes to mind? Othello doesn't receive as much attention from the fandom as characters like trash demon, but the silver lining is that we have fewer cursed ships for this geeky reaper.

I'm not quoting verbatim since I've seen a couple of different translations for this line, but the part where he and Grelle confront Undertaker, and Othello smirks that it's time to get on with the renegade death god's "spanking/scolding." That dialogue coupled with his impish expression gave me a good chuckle...and do y'all see what I mean about the bitter exes energy he and Undertaker have? Also, what kinds of shenanigans did you and White hair-chan get up to back in the day, Othello? 👀

A cheeky, eccentric, and somewhat mysterious reaper forensic scientist with a fearless penchant for munching licorice and wearing slippers with his socks on.

His crazy hair! 😂

Could be ace, aro, demi, or some combination thereof, but he definitely isn't straight.

The verdict's still out on these two questions, mainly because we just haven't spent enough time with him for me to compare his role across different arcs. We'll see how things shake out a few years down the line!

16. A childhood headcanon.

Othello was often bullied as a child due to his weak, scrawny frame and bookish tendencies, which caused him to turn inward and made it difficult for him to form close attachments with his peers.

17. What do you think their first word was?

"Ribbit," learned from when his mom was teaching him about the sounds different animals make (I headcanon that frogs are one of Othello's favorite animals).

18. How do you think they were like as a kid?

As mentioned above, I think Othello ended up a loner who read voraciously and developed a keen interest in the natural sciences. Much to his mother's horror, he was fascinated by death, and furtively dissected a few animal corpses (i.e. deceased cats he found on the side of the road) because he wanted to better understand how their anatomy worked. Kidthello kept several pet frogs, salamanders, and other amphibians, stealthily hiding them from his mama. He strongly preferred to wear loose, baggy clothing made out of soft fabric, for sensory reasons, and also had several quirks in his eating habits (i.e. lining up cherry pits in rows, pitching a fit if his green peas touched the potatoes on his plate, etc.). Despite his considerable intellect, Othello remained a mediocre student because he only applied himself toward subjects that piqued his curiosity, eschewing dull textbooks and rote memorization in favor of his late-night, amateur attempts at research.

19. The most random ship you've seen people have with them.

Othello x Blavat Sky. They both have chaotic energy, distinctive character designs, and copious amounts of gender, but my short king deserves better than that smarmy fortune teller. 😤

20. A weird headcanon.

Othello is a pretty decent ventriloquist and freaked the other reapers out by bringing his dummy to an office party.

21. When do you think they were at their happiest?

When he was given his own laboratory. Othello now had access to resources he couldn't have envisioned in his wildest dreams as a mortal, and centuries (if not millenia!) in which to explore the questions which intrigued him.

22. When do you think they were at their lowest?

Immediately prior to becoming a reaper. I headcanon that Othello's backstory shares certain similarities with that of Shakespeare's tragic protagonist; namely, that he murdered his wife after a false, manipulative "friend" tricked him into thinking she had committed adultery when in fact she was innocent. Othello had been deeply hurt by this misguided belief because he'd truly fallen in love with his spouse, finally discovering someone who accepted him. Upon realizing his grievous error, the scientist was stricken with remorse and killed himself.

23. Future headcanon.

Grelle often takes Othello with her to attend Pride parades in the mortal realm, and they make eachother little bead bracelets using their respective pride flag colors. >w<

24. What do you think is a secret they have that they have never told anyone?

Othello curled up on his bed and cried for hours the night that he and Undertaker separated, only to put on a nonchalant act the next day and pretend like the relationship had never been that big a deal, anyway. He takes rejection hard but usually isn't comfortable admitting as much.

25. When do you think they acted the most OOC?

I don't think we know him well enough to say for certain yet.

26. When do you think they were being "themselves" the most?

While I suspect that he might be hiding something, my impression is that Othello doesn't give a damn about others' opinions of him and is unrepentantly himself, even if others judge his peculiar mannerisms and behavior.

27. If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc., who would be the most fun for them to meet?

Dr. Doofenshmirtz from Phineas and Ferb. Oh, the glorious chaos that would ensue...

28. The most unnecessary thing they ever did?

Eat licorice. I love you, king, but that stuff tastes VILE.

29. How do you think they would be as a parent?

Honestly, I think Othello would be much better off as the fun uncle who pops by every now and then to visit the kids and give them cool presents. While he would genuinely love his children, he'd probably be so absorbed in his theories and research that they'd inadvertently be excluded from his reclusive bubble, placing most of the burden of their daily care on his partner(s)

30. The funniest scene they had?

When he threw his death scythe at Undertaker...only for the "attack" to devolve into a comical failure! XD As Miss Grelle remarks (I see you breaking the fourth wall, Yana), it would have made sense for this moment to reveal a ferocious strength beneath Othello's unassuming facade. Instead, we see that the geek from Forensics probably shouldn't be wielding anything larger than a pipette! 😆😆😆
