Yes I would still love the Lee tang smut!!
Convenience Store Guy
Tumblr media
Summary: Confronting your coworker about the weird messages you've received doesn't go as planned.
Warnings: Language, Dark Themes, Stalking, Threats, Slight!DeadDove, Gaslighting, Convenience store era cus that was the best, Unstable Tang, Smut 18+ (Minors DNI) Rough Sex, Choking, Degradation Kink, Kinda Virgin!Tang, Dom!Tang
Stalking is bad. If someone is Stalking you, 100% don't do what y/n does, please.
Tumblr media
The more he spoke to you, the more he found it increasingly difficult to act like a good person.
“And guess what else?” The chill in your voice has nothing to do with the oppressive winter weather.
“You're pregnant.” your co-worker says.
You laugh and he laughs because you laugh.
It took a certain level of skill, Lee Tang likes to admit - being able to time exactly when you’d crane your neck back, letting your complaints reach the artificial fluorescents while he lowered his incriminating eyes to your cleavage.
“Remember that unknown number I told you about? The one that kept sending all the weird messages?” Tang hums, bopping his head as he slyly adjusts the front of his jeans, obscured by the counter.
“Shit, don't tell me you got another one,'' As the words leave his mouth, you're already handing your phone to him.
“This was sent to me last night,” You say, swinging your head away from the cash register and towards the wide windows displaying the night beyond. Anyone out there could be the person terrorising you. Anyone could be out to get you.
The text simply and succinctly read:
Wear the same colour tomorrow.
And while Lee Tang attempted to feign uncomfortable ignorance (as one might when your coworker tells you she might be getting stalked), he couldn't help but notice that you were, in fact wearing the same colour. Bright yellow.
For some inexplicable reason… you listened.
“What were you wearing?”
He already knew.
“Is that important?” You step aside, making way for the final customer to be rung up. All the while, Tang nurses an even bigger boner than before.
He did not… exactly intend for his moves to get so bold but texting you and having you listen to hus demands… the demands of a stranger… the whole thing is something akin to shooting pure heroin straight into a fresh vein.
Perhaps you weren't so innocent in the exchange.
“That's not important,” You say quietly before swinging your head towards him again, “I thought we should focus on the very real fact that I might have a stalker?”
“Maybe you should respond to the poor guy and see what he has to say- that'll be ₩5000,” While Tang entertains his customer, you immediately grab your phone before stuffing it into your back pocket. The convenience store buzzes with the exit of the final customer.
“Because entertaining a stalker is exactly what they tell us to do,” you accompany your sentence with a small eye roll.
“We don't know if it's a stalker.” Tang didn't like that term. He'd much rather prefer ‘walking you home from a distance,’
“All this guy has done so far is send a couple weird messages.”
Not a stalker. Not a stalker. Not a stalker.
“Why don't you just block him?”
You'd think by the self gratification in this voice that Tang solved world hunger. You let him dwell in his ignorance, partly because you were afraid to dissect how deep this iceberg went.
You were afraid to admit that you had already blocked the Private number… twice.
Initially you had hoped the messages were the effects of some virus, but they kept getting worse by the second.
[17:59] Just wanted to know if you've had a nice day? :)
[20:22] My cat’s sick. Idk what's wrong with her.
[20:23] I don't have a cat lol
[22:23] Where'd you get your cat?
[01:00] I love talking to you
[01:05] You're so fucking hot
[02:03] I love you
You were afraid to admit that you waited for his message at the end of every long monotonous day.
While you wrestle will all sorts of the moral implications that came with enabling you stalker, Tang couldn't take his eyes off your dress.
Had you really worn the dress for him?
Tang couldn't suspend disbelief even for a millisecond to imagine a world in which that was possible. When he sent that message, he obviously didn't expect a response.
He always believed he was nothing but a fragment of furniture in the workings of your life.
The convenience store guy you occasional spoke to.
Everything began to feel more and more brighter in your presence. The clinical musk that hung in the convenient store began to smell more and more like jasmine and time seemed to grow wings and take off whenever you swung by, chatting his ear off about your latest inconvenience.
One moment you were an irritation, the next Tang found himself seated at his desk, surrounded by a halo of used tissues while habitually scouting out porn where the campy lead actress resembled you more and more. He found it concerningly easy to get off when your eyes, your smile and those beautiful fucking tits were clouding his mind eye.
It was around this time when he started walking you home.
For a while, a vaguely heavy silence sits in between you two. Tang, with his head bowed, chooses to ruminate in an emotion very new and complex to him…guilt.
He is completely unaware that you're watching him, until you sigh loudly. “You know… you could at least try to sound convincing,” your words cause his neck to snap up and he watches with wide eyes as you round the counter, dragging your finger against the cold surface.
“I think I'd find it way more endearing if you don't try to lie to me, Tang.” You're walking closer and closer and he feels like his entire mental state has imploded on itself.
“Fuck, I'm going mental,” he screws his eyes shut and pats his cheeks rather hard. When he opens them, youre still there. His breathing picks up as your warmth penetrates the radius surrounding his flustered, agitated body and Tang immediately sends a worried gaze up to the CCTV nestled in the corner above.
“Some girls respond better to just being asked out.”
A billion lies try to flash across his mind's eye. Anything that might get him out of this situation unscathed. He comes up empty. Eventually, all Lee Tang is capable of, is a droop in his shoulders as he asks, “Are you going to call the cops?”
You don't respond immediately. Choosing, instead, slide your finger over his on the counter. Your warm hands encircling his had the power to knock the very life out of him.
“I should call the cops,” you state very gravely,” you look up at him with a grim sort of fascination.
Lee Tang has mentally checked out. His droopy, ringed eyes are stationed on your lips alone.
“You really should.” He says, before bending down ever so slowly as if to bridge the gap between both of your lips.
“You're sick, you know that? You had me fearing for my fucking life,” You're whispering. Why are you whispering?
“Don't say shit like that,” he whispers back.
“Why?”
Almost before he can talk himself out of it, Lee Tang grabs ahold of your hand, the one stationed on his own and he presses your palm directly onto his bulge. His eyes nearly roll back at the warmth of your small little hand alone and you watch, absolutely mesmerised as he begins to rub your palm up and down and up and down.
“Wait-”
“No.” He states, before motioning to bend down and kiss you, but before he can, you stop him with a hand against his chest.
There it was. That all too familiar pang of rejection. That nauseating, acidic feeling that ate away at his insides.
It made him want to hurt you.
How dare you try to stop him?
How dare you bring him this far, only to take it all away?
How dare you?
“Wait.”
“What?” Your eyes widen at the slightly louder quality in his tone. Sensing that you might have disrupted something that was well on its way to blossoming, you're quick to try and appease his nerves. You watch the conflict in his eyes dissipate and when you step closer towards him, your front pressed against his as you whisper in his ear, “Not here,” before spinning around, in the direction of the break room. It takes a moment for his brain to process your words, but when they do, he's ambling his way onwards, away from CCTV.
The very second he shuts the door to the break room, he's charging at you in a quick, frantic gait.
You're only allowed to feel nervous for a total of 5 seconds before he's pushing you against the wall, forcing his tongue down your throat as if it were his first kiss. His movements are jilted and frantic and so incredibly messy. If it were anyone else you might have been disgusted by his haste only proves to be contagious. You can feel it rubbing off on you with the way you mewl against his mouth, shoving your fingers into his mop of dark, unkempt hair.
“You're so perfect to me, F-Fuck,” he whispers in between kisses. He never strayed too far. Your lips stayed connected by a line of saliva. You were both absolutely wrecked.
“So, long…” he whispers, before shoving his hand over your boobs and squeezing, “I've thought about this for so fucking long. I've jerked off to you for so fucking long- I just-” He breathes out, before flattening his thumb against your pebbled, clothed nipples, “I've always fucking wanted you,”
“How long?”
“Since I saw you,” he whispers before dipping his head in between the crook of your neck. Instead of splaying lazy kisses there, you gasp at the sound of him completely inhaling you. “F-Fuck…” he whispers before pulling back, enough to fiddle with his belt, “I need to fuck you,” he simply and succinctly says before bringing his other hand up to your collar. “You're not gonna go anywhere, yeah?” As he asks this, he curls his fingers around your throat, alluding to the real and very daunting fact that he wouldn't allow you to go, even if you wanted to…
“I'm not going anywhere,” you attempt to coax him yet again but he still keeps a firm grip around your throat as he slides, quite sloppily into your slippery cunt. Now his eyes roll back and he exhales the biggest groan he's ever let out. “I already know I'm not gonna fucking last,” with his free hand he swipes his fingers across your clit, stimulating you to the highest level as you whine and mewl into the air.
“So long,” he continues muttering as he ruts into you, “ s-so fucking long… s-so tight. You're too tight-”
You're caught in the throes of the pleasure of being fucked so throughly and so roughly that you completely miss his question.
“Hey?” He says all too quietly while slapping continuously at the side of your cheek as if trying to bring you back down to earth, “You're such a slut you didn't even hear what I asked you?”
You manage to shake your head.
“I asked if you were a virgin.”
You stilled at the question, sensing that you were walking on dangerous ground. Which, you were realising is a norm around this guy. While you were thinking you had to choose your words correctly, Tang dips his head in between your neck and shoulder once more.
“Doesn't matter,” He ruts against you, feeling himself get closer and closer as his grip on your neck becomes tight.
“I'll kill him-” and for some inexplicable reason you cum at that very moment. Your moans reach the dusty ceiling and you fall apart against him so absolutely.
“You're gonna make m-me-” He's already cumming inside you, all while completely cutting off the air to your lungs. He watches you through his spell of pleasure as you claw at his hand and it only makes him cum harder.
“F-Fuck,” he whispers when he empties the last of his seed inside your weeping cunt. You gasp for all the air you were deprived of and he watches with morbid curiosity as life flows back into your eyes.
“That was way better than porn.” Now that he had you, he didn't plan on ever letting you go.

Killer Eyes, Dangerous Hands and a Devastating Smile
“You couldn’t kill me even if you wanted to,” Lee Tang jeered with a confident smile. “I’ve already taken one life,” Nan-gam reminded. “I’m sure that taking another won’t be so difficult.” His declaration spurred a silence to fill the space between them, a quiet imposed by his nemesis as he brought his gaze towards the hand that held a gun to his face. “But your hands are shaking.” | Aka how I wanted that final episode to go.

You mentioning Game of Thrones season 8 is other undisclosed trauma.
I don't think I cried this much when Sirius Black and Dumbledore died.
Game of Thrones was other disappointed. I just hate how the writers build up the hype from the beginning and they just let it ruin without any legit context.
Gege did one thing I never liked about writer that is to take away key character from the plot. Whose importance to whole story is indisputable.
My mind is numb at this point, I just don't wanna think about it. So I'm avoiding it.
Thanks for Another level, at this point that is my canon and I have a good cry after re-reading it since yesterday. To be honest I'm re-reading all of my favorite Gojo Satoru's fanfic.
I can't wait for Professor au, being in academic myself it's very exciting to see an au of the same field❤️
OKAY.
So here's the thing. Kiko is about to fucking RANT.
So it's below the cut 🙃
I didn't ever watch GoT. But I saw what happened and absolutely hated that it felt like reverse character development for the sake of time.
My best friend and I have had conversations about character deaths and the impact they have a lot. Here's the thing that I feel JKR did very well: death. She covered death so well in Harry Potter. None of the deaths felt meaningless or like they didn't fit. Sirius had to die in order for Harry to become the man he became. His death was something that was devastating and we felt the pain with Harry. But it drove the story forward, genuinely. Dumbledore had to die in order for the climax to happen. Because the entire fucking point was that Voldemort was afraid of Dumbledore. His death, the way it happened, how powerless Harry felt, was so well done. People can hate on JKR as a person all they want, but she is an incredibly skilled and talented storyteller. She shaped an entire generation of book lovers. And she did a very good job.
The Harry Potter series was well-paced and just well-written. And I had many friends in grad school who were getting their MAs and PhDs in literature because Harry Potter put them on that path to loving reading.
It's also not just Harry Potter. Not to be a JKR stan, but her detective series is actually very good. It's tense and it's got a will-they/won't-they romantic undertone. For every single book of that series, I actually haven't been able to figure out who the killer is before it's revealed in the end, but it always makes sense. That is such good writing.
Gojo's death felt sudden and like it will stunt the plot instead of help it grow. None of the kids are ready to fight Sukuna. Not a single person there could beat Gojo in a fight, so why are we supposed to believe that they'll be able to beat Sukuna? As much as I adore Yuuta, he's not ready to face Sukuna. Yuuji sure as hell isn't ready, but I can see them pulling some dumbass protag bullshit to make him ready. Hakari and Yuuta together might be able to kill Sukuna. But Gojo had the best odds and looked like he was beating the shit outta him.
But what do I know? I'm not a sadistic asshole who enjoys breaking fans hearts 🙃
As for academia in Physical Paradox: I will say that it isn't going to be as dramatic as real academia 😂 I spent a few years in it, and while I enjoyed aspects of it, academic politics made me want to burn the entire campus down. There will be some dramatics, but they won't be as extreme because this is a fluffy AU where everything works out in the end because I say so 😬🥹

Quickly I am new here explain your blog and your au!!!
Honestly, there's not too much to explain. I use this sideblog mainly to reblog things relating to whatever fandom I'm currently in, and sometimes to share my fanfics or just ideas I wanna talk about.
I have a couple different AUs actually. The one I've posted about most recently is the Evbear AU, premise of which is that Michael discovers Evan's ghost haunting Fredbear shortly after the Bite of '83. He sneaks Evbear out of the diner and into their house, and the two of them try to hide this huge secret from their Father.
Another of my AUs is the Paradoxical Reaper AU. This is a time travel AU, only instead of just waking up as his younger self, adult Michael goes physically back in time and kills his younger self in order to prevent all the tragedies would follow. Since that creates a paradox, the day resets and the Mikes retain only a vague sense of deja vu.
Then I've got my own killer crying child AU, which I call Guilty Accomplice. In this one, Evan is groomed by William into being a child killer after the bite and Michael, out of guilt for nearly killing Evan and blaming himself for Evan's new homicidal tendencies, tries to protect Evan from the authorities best he can while also trying to convince Evan to stop killing.
And then of course there are a few AUs I didn't actually create but that I added a little onto. I recommend checking out @lonelyfreddles , @honey-bunnysaurus , @crumbleclub , @serenefig , @cloudwhisper23 and @catwithacupofcoffee bc they've all come up with some really amazing ideas.

Author's note, personal head canons, memes, and general thought processes that occurred to me while writing this Christmas story. You don't need to necessarily read them to understand the fic. The author's note was just getting too long on archiveofourown, and I don't actually like leaving a lot of notes. So, I just decided to make a private, unlisted post dump about it if anyone was curious.
Some of these head canons, I've already written out before because I tried writing Ben 10 fics in the past but always deleted them. Never really liked the directions they were going in, or I just lost the plot completely sometimes and forgot where I was going with the ideas. So, if you've already read these, then my bad. I figured I'd just dump them here anyway. I'm not arguing that any of these are true to canon, they're just daydreamed half-thought out scribbles. Don't take any of them seriously.
Author's Notes and Headcanons:
Title comes from lyrics by The Killers.
This was me restraining myself from naming it Piel Canela:
Tumblr media
Fic is set in an alternate universe, where Ben and Kevin are career criminals. Instead of getting the Omnitrix like in canon, Ben can manipulate mana like Gwen and has a color scheme more similar to his mom's than his dad's: purple and blonde instead of green and brunette.
Tumblr media
That thing about Carl and Sandra Tennyson being hippies:
In Alien Force, Eon was retconned into being an Alternate version of Future Ben instead of a Chronian, which kind of sucks.
Even Eon thinks being an alternate Ben really sucks; that's why he spends so much time trying to destroy all the alternate versions of Ben Tennyson. When Eon was displaced from time, he became aware of just how many versions of his universe there were. It gave him an existential crisis. He doesn't even consider himself to be an alternate "Ben" anymore but Something Else™ entirely. There is nothing else like him. He's just Eon and that's that on that.
My interpretation of him is that it's like how Luigi was originally just a recolored Mario but later became his own character.
Identity crisis aside, I'm fond of the idea that he retained anodite characteristics because in his universe, he didn't have an Omnitrix either, inheriting grandma Verdona's abilities instead. His powers are just less refined than Gwen's. While her shields are smooth and controlled, his are unstable and untamed like lightning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because of Eon's lack of finesse with mana manipulation, and the fact that his brain is scrambled by time shenanigans, he's always burning through his human form. Unlike Verdona, who can hold onto her human appearance for an extended period, Eon's form is always fluctuating because he can't even remember what his face looks like after centuries. That's why he sometimes looks normal human man, while other times he resembles a rotting corpse.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Paradox smelling like "burned ozone." According to this post, in the Warhammer 40K books, the description of ozone is used "to describe the smell of something coming out of the warp. For instance, a terminator teleporting in." So, that's what I used as inspiration for his scent. It's a pale blue gas that people describe as smelling like chlorine.
Tumblr media
HC Eon smelling like space comes from this, which I guess smells like alcohol and raspberries. Not sure if I 100% believe that, but I tried to describe it as best I could.
Tumblr media
Vacuity Village doesn't have a description in canon, so I tried to think of the most confusing stuff about it. All I know is that it's Paradox's house and it doesn't have to make sense. From the Wiki:
"Vacuity Village, also referred to as The Depository, is a place in the Null Void where those who no longer fit into any timeline go to live in peace."
Paradox wants Eon to move in with him there but he refuses 😔.
Some things I took from other fandoms, such as Vutalamine crystal. That's a Starwars property, not Ben 10, but idfc since it's fanfic. It's not even a crystal, the image of Eon sucking on one like a cigar was just funny to me. From the wiki:
"Vutalamine had other effects which made it lucrative to individuals from many different walks of life, including a calming influence which allowed the user to process information clearly and make better decisions, slowing of breathing and circulation, and reducing tremors and steadying limbs."
I figured Eon could use something to calm his head down enough any time he needs to sit down and focus.
I am not a math person at all, so don't come for me if I'm getting this wrong, but the equation thing is supposed to be Paradox mathematically calling Eon special to him. I found the equation "∃=1" which is supposedly a representation of "The Uniqueness Quantification," or "the property of being the one and only object satisfying a certain condition." I thought that was pretty cute for Eon and Paradox somehow. This is how I imagine Eon's new helmet to look like on either side of the chin. if it's too ugly, feel free to reimagine it in your head as way cooler, with hotrod flames and sexy anime ladies with large breasts:

most of the "the chad fanfic can explore stories the incel published finction can only dream of" genre of posts are hugely exaggerated, or just plain false, but one kind of story i genuinely don't think you can get outside of the fan environment is the "it was canon or canon-adjacent all along" kind of fic, the kind of bait-and-switch where you go in expecting a coffee shop au & then it turns out that reality was magically warped, or one character has amnesia or has been brain-reprogrammed, or it's reincarnation, but in the plotty, finish-what-we-started kind of way instead of the schmoopy nobody-hurts kind of way. think pleasant hill from avengers standoff, or dollhouse only the audience isn't in on the trick. you think it's a james bond alternate universe where no one is a spy, but it's an alternate timeline instead and only bond's backstory has been changed, and everyone else is just undercover. you think it's a no magic historical au but actually in the climax it's revealed that the characters' actions created the magical universe of the canon you're familiar with. you think it's a high school au but it's just wanda with the reality gem.
& this could just... never happen in published fiction. sure, there are common mythologies that published fiction can reference and expect to be understood--lovecraftian horror, arthurian legend, fairy tales and folklore--but it is just absolutely inconceivable that a novel or short story could prime you to be ready for a certain kind of story and also surprise you by being a story much closer to the original than you thought. imagine a book where the twist is that a mousy librarian is reincarnated king arthur whose marketing materials don't mention arthuriana at all. or a book where the punchline is that urban fantasy is real where the reader doesn't know that going in. original fiction is such a wider field, you know that any book you pick up at random could be about anything, and paradoxically that means that you the reader demand to know more before you open a book. a book that has a cozy mystery cover that turns out to be about r-rated counterterrorism would piss you off!! a chick lit story about a bakery that changes tone drastically when the protagonist finds out all the other characters are serial killers would piss you off. you would call it a cheap twist. writing advice tells original fiction writers again and again to earn their twists, that this is not a matter of taste, that absolutely no one likes being tricked by the cover, by the description, by the writer.
but i love it. in fic, i love it. i love reading what i think is a dystopian young adult x-men au featuring charles & erik only to learn that they're government clones of the real charles & erik years in the future of canon, and that this story was canon-compliant instead of an alternate universe all along. i love reading a killing eve flower shop/tattoo parlor au, the kind of au where everyone is lighter and softer, and you don't realize until the last two chapters that villanelle is still a murderer here. a merlin high school au that seems to be like any teenage love story until merlin reveals that arthur is reincarnated, he is immortal, and merlin has been pretending to meet him, to get to know him, to be another teenage boy, and the romcom turns into an adventure story.
i think that when you already go into a story with the mindset "this story will incorporate these characters and themes and tropes, to a greater or lesser degree," that frees up the writer to do something that is not technically outside the definition of "this is a [insert fandom] fic" but still uses your expectations against you. you know nothing about a novel except what the advertising tells you, and when that's violated, you feel betrayed by the book. but a fic is always entrenched in canon, always tied to another story (that you supposedly enjoyed), and so even fics that change genres, that disrupt their premises, that trick you into thinking they're a different kind of fic, deliver on the promise.
notes:
really, if you think about it, the fanfic equivalent of this kind of plotline in original fiction would be a fic changing its fandom (the true fandom untagged) halfway through--starting out being about anne of green gables and ending up being about mission impossible.
for the record, i'm not saying that not tagging or inaccurately tagging will make a story better, or that everyone should enjoy stories that surprise them. i must imagine there are other people who also love this kind of story, though, and that's definitely part of the reason that "creator chose not to warn" exists, as a way of keeping readers safe but also recognizing that not everyone enjoys reading safely; a valid story is not one that everyone must be capable of enjoying.

Which Homestuck characters would read Homestuck and their opinion
idk i’m bored. What’s Homestuck^2? What’s epilogues? We’re strictly Homestuck in this house. Also only doing main characters, I’m not going to dive into the Felt or caparacians, I want this to be done today.
Beta kids:
June: Avid reader. Got in early and read the whole thing. Got shirts, unironically liked it.
Rose: Got in late, but got into it. Loved the tarot deck, uses it to pretend she’s reading while she just tells people their truths. Noticed some narrative issues but overall liked it.
Dave: Got in shortly after June did, read for a while, but his irony poisoning led to him sassing the HECK out of it. Made a diss blog. Kept reading it “ironically” and cannot tell if he actually likes it or not. Got a god tier hoodie he wears at home. Sampled some of the soundtracks for his raps.
Jade: Loved it. LOVED IT. Got the full soundtrack. Made remixes. Got all the shirts. One of the blogs that posted “UPD8!” whenever an update happened. Big fanartist during the Gigapauses.
Beta Guardians:
June’s Dad: Tried to get into it to connect to his daughter’s interest, but the memes were too much, so he became the “Are ya winning, daughter?” dad. Very supportive but would need fifty slow paced “Homestuck explained” videos.
Mom Lalonde: Read it, but was too intoxicated to remember most. She holds obscure knowledge and will remember minute trivia, but don’t ask her about any of the large plot points.
Bro Strider: Too busy being A Mess Of A Human Being to sit down and read.
Poppop Harley: Too busy being A Dang Explorer to sit down and read.
Alpha kids:
Jane: Takes time to read it slowly. Has a blog of theories she constantly updates. Was upset about how some plot points got dropped and underdeveloped.
Roxy: Much like Jade, loved it. While Jade made remixes, Roxy cosplays. She has killer cosplays of most characters. Screamed about updates on twitter. No filter, accidentally drops spoilers left right and center.
Dirk: Deep, DEEP character examinations. Draws diagrams, writes essays. Unironically liked the potential of Paradox Space, may have even submit his own stories to be a guest artist.
Jake: Read the whole thing, liked it, missed many connections and plot points, was satisfied with the ending. Got some merch, can say “I read Homestuck” in public and be blissfully unaware of any positive and negative baggage that comes with saying so.
Alpha Guardians:
Jane’s Dad: Much like June’s Dad, tried to get into it. Unlike June’s Dad, watched and read his daughter’s theories (and Dirk’s explanations when Jane linked them to him) and became A Walking Homestuck Encyclopedia. Jane is unsure how to feel about this. He, however, does not reference it.
Roxy’s Rosemom: Too busy fighting the good fight to read. It’s in her radar but didn’t get the time to read it.
Dirk’s Davedad: Read it as a novelty. Sent Hussie a gold-plated Bad Dragon dildo. Put offhand references to it on his movies, but they were so oblique that even readers didn’t get it.
Jade English: Too busy running her own baking good company to read Homestuck. Not even in her radar.
Alternia Trolls:
Aradia: Much like Dirk, got REAL DEEP into it. Makes youtube vids explaining classpects and narrative points. Actually wrote a dissertation on Homestuck.
Tavros: Tried to get into it, but the first few acts were not to his taste so he never got to the trolls ironically enough. Likes the character designs though.
Sollux: Next level Dave. Critiques the FUQUE out of it on every platform he can. If Hatedom is a thing, he made it. He’s the founder. It’s him. But he read it to the end.
Karkat: Read it, loves it, does some interesting character relationship examinations. Predicted who would end up with who with 100% accuracy. Wasn’t a vocal fan, didn’t get merch, but still liked it.
Nepeta: The shipper who launched a thousand ships. She writes crackfic but with deep care, making sure it makes sense that characters would end up together. Got one of every homestuck shirt. Very into it.
Kanaya: Got into it only because her friends got into it. If Karkat hadn’t talked about it she would not have gotten into it but she did because she wants to be able to carry a conversation with her friends. Not a huge fan.
Terezi: She can and WILL correct you if you get trivia wrong. She did not sit through hours of text-to-speech pesterlogs for some scrub to get it wrong. Defiant Homestuck defender. She’ll cut you if you say you don’t like Homestuck (she won’t, but she’s judging you from the other side of the room)
Vriska: Skipped the first acts and jumped right into Alternia. Little context, little care. Pretends she didn’t, gets facts hilariously wrong which Terezi takes as an invitation to tease her. Fanartist.
Equius: Another fanartist. He made physical media as opposed to drawings. Slow reader, got into it late and didn’t finish until way after the comic had ended. Did not get to experience the comic without Random Paradox Arms all over the place. Loved by the community for his short reaction posts about what happened at the point he’s at.
Gamzee: Either first person to post “Update” when comic updated, or doesn’t read for months and then catches up in two days. Skips many chat logs, but still gets most of the plot no problem. Remembers exact phrasing of the posts he does read though.
Eridan: Another Character Analysis blogger. He dives into (pun unintended) why some characters are The Absolute Worst and writes fanfic of how they would be if they had a chance to be in a different circumstances. The Problematique fan, but only because people assume the worst of him. He’s actually pretty chill.
Feferi: Superfan, and Super Content Creator. Started making plushies and charms and eventually started selling them. Her stuff became a badge of honor and people posted themselves hugging their plushies during the gigapause.
Ancestors:
Too busy caught up in their personal turmoils to read any of it. Except the Condesce. She sent Hussie a diamond-studded Bad Dragon dildo.
Beforus trolls:
Damara: Big fan, but doesn’t express it because of the crowd she’s with. But she has a blog where she tries to get in touch with new readers and is always open to answer questions others might have. Not a Big Name fan, but she’s much more vocal online than in person, and even then it’s through an alt account.
Rufioh: Got people into it, but he himself didn’t finish reading after the Scratch. Said he would but he just never got to doing so.
Mituna: Prone to ranting when updates happened. Very emotionally invested, nearly died when Game Over happened.
Kankri: The nitpicker to end all nitpicks. He critiqued everything, and hated that there were hero mode, simplified and silly drawings. Genuinely disliked all characters for faults that he himself has, yet never self-examined. Got a following that  consisted three-quarters of people who made fun of his rants and one-quarter of people who were as intense as he is.
Meulin: Big, BIG fan. Prolific fanfic writer, if a character pairing exists, rarepair or not, she wrote a fic about them. Likes all characters and as such thinks she must devote roughly the same wordcount for everyone she can. Disappears for months then reemerges with twenty new fics.
Porrim: Moderate fan, great cosplayer. The more complex the outfit, the more she wanted to make it. Routinely goes out in Jade’s Dead Shuffle and Three in the Morning dresses because she is incredibly proud of them.
Latula: Not a big fan. Knows most of what she knows through cultural osmosis because her friends got into it, but she’s not likely to ever read it herself. Likes how into it her friends are though.
Aranea: Much like Jane’s Dad, she’s the walking encyclopedia, except she memorized the content of almost every page, and if she doubts her knowledge, will immediately go to her computer and look up what she is unsure of. Tries not to talk people’s ears off and will only talk about Homestuck when asked about it.
Horuss: Super into it. To a maybe creepy degree. Doesn’t show in public but if you get access to his secret blogs it’s more like character shrines. Don’t dig too deep into it.
Kurloz: Read it, kinda into it, but not that big of a fan. He will talk about it but he’s pretty lukewarm about the whole thing.
Cronus: Read it to impress a crush, got genuinely into it, but isn’t a vocal fan.
Meenah: Didn’t read it, much like Latula learned about it because everyone around her talked about it. Unlike Latula, she mocks everyone for liking something she says is “for nerds”. Still kinda wants to read it to be part of the conversation but her pride of Not Knowing About Homestuck is too great to overcome that hurdle.

Same writing anon as before! Tysm for the long post, it was really clarifying and good to read. It's started having some stuff make sense and revealed some stuff I need to rework. Do you have any advice on writing bare-bones like, general plot lines?
Hey! I’m so glad to hear that. 💙
I’m not 100% sure what you mean—advice on making your plot lines engaging, on figuring them out period, on how and when to structure them, on how to make them original, how to make them further the scenes you want to write instead of just be there as a support column for them, etc, so sorry if I misinterpret this question. I think I’m probably overthinking this, and you just mean “advice on how to come up with them/lay them out in the first place,” so that’s what I’ll answer. Sorry if that isn’t what you meant. TuT
So, writers all have different processes, but for most of us, it is very much not plotline first. Often you’ll get a great vague idea, or a scene you don’t know the total context for, or a character you like, or a finale, or a specific crisis, etc, and start there. Similarly when writing fanfic, a lot of the time you start with a very basic concept like “I want to see these people interact” or “I want this character to get to kill the person who destroyed their life” or “I want C character to get a happy ending,” and you build from there.
Honestly, there isn’t just one way to do structuring that works. Some people like a bare bones outline before they start, some like hugely detailed outlines, and some get a vague concept for how it will end, and then just start writing. And they can all work! I will say though, if you’re writing something heavily solution-based (like your characters spend the whole story trying to escape a sinking ship in the middle of the ocean, or are trying to fix a time paradox to keep themselves from being erased), it’s highly, highly recommended you know what that solution is before you begin. I don’t know that you /can’t/ figure out on the fly, but it will be so much easier for you as a writer to work towards a solution you already have, than to fly blind. Especially because most solution-heavy plots pick up elements to their solution along the way. This isn’t always necessary—like if the problem is it’s a horror script and there is a serial killer chasing them. “How do you kill a human” has infinite answers, so you don’t really need to pick out specifically how your protag finally takes them out ahead of time if you don’t want. If it’s like, Nightmare on Elm Street though, and your monster almost can’t be killed, you really gonna want to know how to put it in the dirt before you start, though.
That said, I’d recommend doing at least a bare-bones outline, personally for anything very long! It’s totally good and recommended even to edit that outline as you go, to add or subtract or alter upcoming content, but I find it helps a lot to have a vague idea of how much is left, and what the next step will be. It’s kind of reassuring. Again though, not everyone does this. Some skip outlines altogether.
As far as plotting itself goes, I would say start, again, with what you want to write—this might seem counter-intuitive, but trust me. Do you want to write a friendship, or a romance, or a personal journey for a character that leaves them feeling whole? Okay, well, even though most of those don’t seem very plot-creating, consider two factors: what would make this thing you want to have happen happen? And why do you want to write this thing?
For example, I wrote a horror comedy feature script, and my initial idea for it was just a gimmick—the main character can hear the OST, and uses that to help her stay alive. Okay, well, what’s the plot to that? There isn’t one—yet. But why do I like horror comedy in general—why pick that genre? Because horror comedy tends to be a deconstruction/reflective of horror as a whole, and a lot of those commentaries are very meaningful to me. Okay, well, what about horror am /I/ interested in reflecting on? And there’s a lot I’m interested in reflecting on, tbh, but at the time, the big answer for me was casual dehumanization. So, I know my topic/theme, and I know I am picking a wild world for that (as in, I want to write about not dehumanizing people, but I’m setting it in a world where the MC can literally hear the soundtrack to her story), but that can help, honestly, because if you can carry your point with a disadvantage, that’s even better. So I know my gimmick, I know my core issue, and I know my main character. Now, if I want to talk about dehumanization, that means it’s got to be what my killer is doing, and to an even more extreme extent than murder in general, so they must know the victims personally. From there, I worked out who would be best to cast as antagonist and a motive for them (considering other people not as significant as them/ethics are just created by humans mentality, justifying murdering even friends in order to gain serial killer immortality fame), and went from there to okay, so how would they (the killer) do this? And there’s a lot of ways to approach that scene detail plotting. Usually, I just kind of daydream. I make a cast first, then try to figure out what scenes would work well, and once I have a couple in line with my whole plot, string together an outline that supports all of them, and from there carve out a solid start to finish storyline—like, uh, like whittling down a carving, or chipping away to make a statue, kind of. Think of the starting process as a little like solving a mystery by taking clues and working through them to the next logical deduction, I guess, haha.
You can start from a bunch of different places though, not just concept/theme. For ILM, my original thought was just, “I want the survivors to get to escape, but HOW could they do it?” And I tried to solve that problem. Once I had a solution, which was genuinely one of the first things I found, I was like, okay, but it shouldn’t just be about that, because that’s got no real meat—it’s just an ending. What else do I want to see in a story about them? And Wraith was my favorite killer by far, so I thought, “I want to see Philip get to redeem himself and befriend the survivors and be kind and happy,” and that was it. From there, I worked out first where I wanted Philip at as a person/his motivation for how he ended up where he was, which plus some research created the resets for him, and then I worked out how it would start for him, if he was going to befriend survivors. I picked out relationships I wanted to see furthered, and decided if I wanted them to get a happy ending in hell and give Wraith redemption and peace, that meant I was writing a hope punk plotline for sure, and then with a basic idea of how I got from A-Z, started writing. A lot of individual plot lines—Laurie, Quentin, Jeff and Legion, Tapp, Anna, etc, I had not worked out before I began—maybe I had a kind of vague idea what I wanted for them (Laurie to regain her will to live and be able to save her brother too/get him to save herself, Quentin to get closure, Anna to find humanity, etc), but mostly I kind of brainstormed each the character arcs when I hit their first POV chapter, and crafted their personal story arcs there, then adjusted some as ideas grew.
Which was a super different process form my feature. While my feature more or less hit “what’s the theme/core concept” right off the bat in planning, ILM was “What’s the goal” and didn’t hit theme really until partway through writing, so the process won’t even always be the same for you as a writer. But I definitely recommend, no matter what you’re starting with, to go about it by looking at what makes you want to write what you are writing. For New Dawn Fades, my initial starting point was literally just wanting to write a scene between Quentin and Joey—that was it. I had no framework, or theme, or story goal—just a scene. But I was like, okay, well, if you need a story to back this once scene and further it, not just give it an excuse to happen, what is the story? Well, the reason I wanted to write the scene was because I liked how Joey and Quentin interacted. Quentin’s a bit of a martyr and constantly overwhelmed with guilt and trauma and had to grow up way too fast, and Joey’s a decent person at heart that has let himself slip way too much into bad territory out of fear, and together, they kind of bring out the best in or for each other; Joey is like, the single most likely character in DbD to be able to remind Quentin he’s legit just a teenager actually and should cut lose and just be okay for at least like fifteen damn minutes a day, and might actually be able to get him to do it, and Quentin’s the right mix of uncompromisingly ethical and genuinely forgiving to get Joey to look at and reevaluate his choices without spiraling into hopelessness and self-hate instead of self-improvement. So the answer was I wanted them to get to help each other. From that starting place, I just kind of went step by step with “Okay, how could they logically meet in such a way they are forced to spend time together and it gives them a chance to reach some of this,” and the rest came pretty easy. A lot comes step by step too, I find, and sometimes I have a whole super solid outline before writing and sometimes I don’t know beyond the next chapter except in the most general of terms. So what I would basically always recommend with making a general plotline is consider why you want to write what you want to write, and move from there to, “Okay well how do I get it.” And that process will be wildly different from story to story, but as a basic start, it helps me a lot. I wanted to see Claudette reach out to Wraith? Okay, why would she do that, and how? How would he react—what are the consequences, both from other people, each other, and the Entity? I guess I kind of go at plotlines like a puzzle. If this happens, what are the characters’ next choices? Which would they pick? And if I know where I want them to end, how do I steer their situation towards that point? For doing this, I highly recommend listening to music and daydreaming/just watching and trying scenes out some in your head. Also, if you get stuck, watch or read similar stories and let that inspire you! I don’t mean you gotta or should like, trace over someone else’s scene or something, but all fiction is intertextual, and that’s a good thing. We write based on our existing knowledge and love or ambivalence or distaste for other stories, and in communication with them, and it can add a lot. Stuff with Laurie & Michael in ILM didn’t end up like a single Halloween film in any of the six+ damn timelines, but I /did/ draw inspiration from the H20 line, and H2, which were the closest those two ever got. Watched the end of H20 and went, okay, if they’d had a better chance sooner, what could have happened, and played with that. Watching a lot of well-made fight scenes is also great inspiration for writing action—highly recommend.
I’m not entirely sure how helpful all of this will be, because plotting techniques tend to be pretty varied from writer to writer, but I hope it helps. If it hasn’t, here’s a quick compilation of more technical-side based tips that hopefully wil:
One technique I see recommended a lot and that can help/has before, is to start with your core concept. Now, I would disagree that you must always start here, but it can be a very good place. The idea is to be able to sum up in one line what the meaning of the story is. Like, for the film Holes, it would be something like, “Evil in this world is caused by treating people inhumanly, and the only way to break that curse is to treat your fellow man with decency and value and love.” Basically every plotline in the film backs this idea—Kissing Kate, who is a kind and happy woman until the man she loves, Sam, is murdered by her town for being a black man in a relationship with her, a white woman. That inhuman act drives her to become an outlaw. You have the Yelnats, who get cursed to be followed by misfortune forever when Stanley doesn’t honor his promise to Madame Zaroni, none of which would have happened if he had listened to her in the first place & not gone after a girl based solely on her looks, or if she had cared who either suitor was as a person, and could have been avoided had Madame Zaroni been more to Stanley than a means to an end. You have a whole cast of delinquent boys being mistreated and not at all healed by a juvie system that treats them all like they’re no longer humans worth anything. You have Zero, not even treated as human by juvie standards because he doesn’t talk, isolating himself—all of which stems from growing up on the streets impoverished with a mom struggling to do her best and failing. Stanley is falsely convicted for a crime he didn’t commit and mistreated over it, and has his life ruined. Even Grace, the main antagonist, is who she is because her family has been obsessed and abusive for generations, and she grew up a tool to her father. Then in the end, almost every one of these wrongs, even the ancient wrong of Sam’s murder, is corrected by people choosing to be better and break—in two cases quite literally—the curses on them and others by just being kind and choosing to love and treat others with respect and care. Stanley chooses to befriend Zero to be nice, and Zero reciprocates. Then when Zero runs off, Stanley runs off to help him because he’s afraid he will die, and simply because he loves him as a person, fulfills his family’s ancient promise unknowingly by carrying Zero up a mountain in search of water to save his life. This gives his family and him luck again, and ends up saving everyone. Zero tells Stanley the truth about himself and stops self isolating and being just sad and alone because he had a friend who treats him with value, all the boys end up okay and semi adopted by Stanley’s family in the end and out of abuse and juvie and treated well and live up to that faith put in them, and justice being finally brought breaks Kate’s curse and lets it rain again for the first time since Sam’s death and gives Kate’s spirit peace. —and that’s the idea. To have all your arcs and themes back your one core concept. Now, sometimes people find this super helpful, sometimes they find it overwhelming, but it can be worth a lot.
Another is to just kind of try the dartboard model, which is getting an idea you like to start with (like uhhh, Dogfighting dog is injured so it is going to be put down, but it escapes it’s master and runs off into the woods. Out there, it wanders until happening on an injured human child). Okay, so the plot is about a dog that has been abused choosing to connect to a human in spite of that, and probably about how the kid survives getting out of the woods with the dog’s help. But what actually happens? Dartboard method is just come up with a bunch of potential scenarios for the two characters and play them out in your head, keep your favorites, and then see if you can find a way to string those scenes together. You like a scene where the dog fights off a mountain lion, a scene where the kid and dog huddle together for warmth in a cave during a storm and the kid gets to be the one doing the looking out because the dog is terrified of thunder, and you like a scene where the kid is walking with a branch to help them keep going, sees a road up ahead which means help finally, but passes out from exhaustion, so the panicked dog has to deal with intentionally attracting the attention of adult humans after the abuse it has suffered, in the hope it can lead them to the kid and get help? Great. Okay, what basic order do these scenes go in, what can fill the gaps between X and Z? A lot of thing, you’ll have fun scenes you end up having to reject, because they don’t fit, but it’s a pretty laid back if chaotic method.
Then of course there’s just the classic. Outline. As in, take whatever idea you have, and force yourself to pitch a complete A-Z set of steps like you’re in a writing class. IE:
Dog is introduced. — Dog is inured and going to be put down. —Owner is distracted by a fight breaking out, and dog manages to jerk leash free and escape. — dog flees to woods. — Dog is alone and skittish. There is a storm and it freaks out and holes up. — Next morning, after the storm, Dog hears human crying & is afraid, but curious. Goes to peek. Sees kid who has must have been out here in the storm because a branch snapped and has pinned them by the leg — Dog wants to help because dog instincts, but is afraid of even small human. Eventually peeks head out. — Kid is terrified too, because scary huge scarred dog and they can’t run. Dog scared because human. — Eventually, kid gets over fear and tries to call to dog, and it comes out. Kid pets it and it’s afraid to be touched, but then accepts the affection. — Dog tries to help kid out by digging their leg free. Kid, who hand not thought of that, helps, and gets free.
(Usually you do this more branching and pretty, IE: Scene 1: Dog is in a dogfighting match.
—1A: Dog loses fight and suffers a bad infury to its eye, making it no longer fight for fights.
—1B: Dog’s master angrily comes to collect them. Dog tries to get affection, but he’s mad at it for failing & mutters about putting it down.
Scene 2: Owner takes dog out back to put down.
But that would take up a ton of space on this already massively long post.). There’s also a more simplified version of this, where you just kind of go like Chapter 1: Dog is introduced, loses fight, then escapes being put down and flees. Chapter 2: Dog is terrified of a thunderstorm and from having been almost killed & forced to fight for so long. Runs out of town to the woods as the storm breaks. Hides out under bush. Chapter 3: Dog wakes up to hear human crying. Goes to investigate hesitantly. Finds human kid trapped unde fallen branch. Kid is afraid of dog, dog afraid of kid, but eventually kid coaxes dog to come over and befriends it. Dog tries to help kid and dig them out, and together they get the kid free from tree.
As you can see, that basically gets the same information across, it’s just much shorter, but also has less solidly set as far as details of how stuff happens. Again though, if you go for an outline method, please don’t feel like you have to be married to it. It’s just a resource to try to help you, not actually the story itself, and stoeiws pretty much always evolve as you go, so it’s normal and also kinda fun and good to have to adjust outlines.
Anyway, this was already a mouthful, but I hope it helps, or at least some of it does! For me personally, the best techniques have always been to daydream scenes and events, and to approach writing things I get stuck on either like a deductive puzzle of “Well if She does This, then her friend can do either X, Y, or Z, and Z makes the most sense. Now, I need to figure out a way for them to escape the building. What are th options? Window, door, roof? Technically they could bust down a wall. They’ll never make the roof in time, so that’s out. They have about two minutes before dying, and one of them is injured, so they can’t go fast. The arsonist is going to be watching the front door and the windows carefully though, just in case, so they need a diversion or—Wait—the cat door in the garage. Perfect.” —or by trying to get very into the headspace of whoever is running the scene, and just literally think through why they want and are feeling and going to do. (Though again, I personally approach writing from a very acting-heavy standpoint). Anyway! Hope this helps some, and you find what works best for you. If you want clarity on any of this ramble, or I misinterpreted the questions feel free to let me know! TuT 💙

My fanfic shoutout for the month of August is @lepus-arcticus.  You’ve now made it officially impossible for me to ever say, ever again, that I don't read multi-chapter and WIP fic, and that I don't like AU.  I basically broke all my fic rules and ended up a shivering mess after, and, girl, it's soooooo all good.
First, a confession: I am extremely picky about fic.  Within the first 100-200 words, I'm either hooked or I'm flipping past.  Tabulae Anatomicae had me in 85 words.
The imagery.  The sensuality.   Living and breathing in sumptuous, classic, rich and lyrical prose.  I'm actually somewhat distressed that it wasn't continued, because for the first time in my XF fic reading life, I've discovered an AU that I desperately want to live in for awhile.
The soft crease of an oblique. The heavy, dark mass of his cock. The elegant slope of a calf. She tried again to reduce him to an object to be rendered, a collection of muscle and bone, but it was impossible. Something about him moved her. He seemed more alive, more real, more essential than anyone she’d ever met.
Back up, over the column of his neck, his pulse point thrumming, almost imperceptible. Her hands moved over the paper, trying to touch him by creating him, to own a bit of his soul. A small, sweet ache, a slow ferment…
“Twenty minutes,” Walter said. Violins keened. The sky groaned.
-- Tabulae Anatomicae by lepusarcticus
And now, a moment of silence, because the rest of this post is dedicated to Incrementum.
It only took 49 words.  49 little fucking words of Chapter 1, and I was yours.  Forever, and ever, amen.  May I rest in peace.  Because I’ve died the most beautiful of deaths reading pure, raw, gritty, unapologetic, stripped to the bone, mature and unadulterated MSR.  The photograph that is embedded in this post is the closest thing to what the MSR feels like when I read it.
I will hold out hope that someday your masterpiece will be finished.  But even if you never go back to it again, gifted friend, I won't regret my longing.
A few of my most favorite lines are below.  I’ve read them over and over again just to feel such beautiful words wash over my tongue.
Being inside of her feels like touching the hem of eternity. It has never been like this, not with anyone. Sometimes he has a faint suspicion that the universe only exists because she is in it.  (Ch. 3)
This time, he’s slow. Even through latex, he feels her primordial tide sloshing around him, as if he is the moon and she is the sea, yoked together, tied by gravity and the whirl of the cosmos. Time crawls until it’s forever, and he spends whole centuries inside of her, their movements glacial, tectonic, rewriting the world. (Ch. 7)
But here he is, inside of her, here with the wild ice and the midnight sun. He defies all logic, this overgrown miscreant of hers. He carries within him all of the mysteries of the world, he is infinite and earthly, celestial, the constellation she navigates by. He crawls into the minds of killers, smiles at babies, takes three sugars in his coffee. He’s always trespassing. There are two stopwatches in his travel bag. He feels like home.
He moves like a song inside of her, and a dangerous, beautiful, impossible thought begins to take root.
What if. What if. (Ch. 18)
Nobody could ever know him the way she knows him. Nobody could guess at the long night inside of him, the dark and glimmering firmament of his mind. He is creation contained, more life inside than he knows what to do with, pain and beauty and paradox. (Ch. 27)

Outcasts ~ SaviSnow Fanfic
Chapter 1: A Shift In Time
Savitar, Killer Frost, The flash, Vibe, Garrick, Gypsy and Wally all stood on the very ground where it's all determined. "Go!"Frost told Savitar as she blasted Vibe and Gypsy with her icicles. Savitar and all other speedsters ran into the forest, using their enhanced senses and speed to navigate through the wooded area. Savitar leaped foward and slashed at the two trees in front of him, attempting to throw them all off which didn't seem to work in his favor. He had enough games and propelled himself into the air, blasting the ground below him with his lightning causing a miraculous blinding light and force that sent them all flying into the woods. He smirked beneath his cold and pale exterior suit and ran back towards the others who were still fighting Frost until Vibe knocked her down, going in for the final blow "Go on Cisco go bad!" She exclaimed with such venom escaping her lips "no...I never will, but I will give you a choice...you wanna be Caitlin again, now's your chance" he told her bluntly, taking our a cure for her and throwing it towards her, walking back to Gypsy. "Look out!" Gypsy shouted as Savitar ran in at full speed knocking both down and holding Cisco by the throat "you'll pay for what you did...and you can die the same way twice!" Savitar threatened as he pulled back his arm releasing his blade...but suddenly got frozen by Frost, who was now helping Cisco up "I knew you didn't have it in you Caitlin..." Then the Flash came running out of the forest but Savitar knew this and body slammed him to the floor "I only have a few minutes left, I can feel it...but before I go I'm gonna kill Joe and Wally and Iris...if I'm going to die then everything you love is going to die too!" Savitar yelled, walking away from him. Flash screamed "NO!" And ran towards Savitar phasing through his armor throwing him out, changing the suit colours to a bright vibrant red from its cold and pale blue. "How's it feel to get so close to your accenssion and end up on the ground" Barry exclaimed "now i see...it's written" "nothings written" Barry cut him off. Savitar went in to go and attack him, being tired from his super speed, he got knocked down as Barry slid out the gaunlet blade and pulled back on his arm "Do it!...you kill me you become me, either way...I live!" Savitar urged him, grinning more and more. Barry shaking, pulled back the blade and vibrated his body, tearing the armor into hundreds of pieces "I'll never let the pain or darkness determine who I am...I'll never be you" Barry explained as he speed punched Savitar, knocking him down. Barry, with a victorious smile on his face, walking back to his friends reunited once again, unaware that Savitar leaped foward onto his feet and ran towards Barry preparing a speed punch, Barry heard his yell and immediately turned, running towards Savitar and throwing his strongest speed punch to date, then they clashed their fists together...unbeknownst to them that they both caused a drastic shift in time and the entire universe. They both flew back off each other and onto the grassy floor, Savitar slowly opened his eyes noticing the feeling he was feeling a few minutes ago was now gone, he felt as if he was whole, with no paradox. He then looked up to see team flash staring at him as they went by Barry's side...even Caitlin, he yelled out in anguish and agitation as he sped off with his blade gaunlets, leaving remnants of sparks from his lightning as if it was uncontrolled and not contained. Team Flash knew something was wrong now.

Summary: Castiel asked Dean to show him what 'Fifty Shades of Grey' meant. Dean has only the vaguest idea what those excuse-for-soft-porn-in-chick-flicks are actually about but he's not one to back down from a challenge. Unfortunately for him, Castiel knows exactly what 'Fifty Shades of Grey' means and is happy to illustrate the gaps in his knowledge.

Castiel has moved on, he has a wife, a child, a good job and a really nice car. Dean's living the dream with his own garage, so a chance meeting won't change anything, right? They've both moved on. Right?

Summary: It's been four days since the hunt went wrong and they lost people. Or rather, Castiel lost people. He's been locked in his room blaming himself even though the Winchesters insist it wasn't his fault. When Cas won't listen to them, won't talk to them, won't even look at them, Dean gets creative in his communication efforts.

However, after the initial disinterest, Dean and Claire begin to discover that they both have a lot of similarities. Not only do they both know sign language but they have both suffered loss. They’re both running from their problems and most importantly, they both love stories. As Dean delves into anecdotes of his past, Claire begins to notice that there is one central figure in all of them. The more Dean goes into his memories; the more Claire has questions. And since he doesn’t trust his brother that he’s going to drop the “Michael and me together in the box to save the world” thing, he does the very first thing he can think of to make sure that Dean won’t get into trouble again until they have figured out how to solve the problem: Sam wants to lock Dean into the bunker, together with Castiel to prevent him from doing something stupid. There’s only one way to make sure that Dean really won’t escape them: Handcuffs. Castiel’s on board with that.

Your headcanons are great! But I miss your fanfics! Do you have any in mind ??
I am really glad you do anon. I do have a bunch of fanfics in mind.
I do miss writing. But ever since I started working, I haven’t had the time. I love my job and it pays well. But my 1 to 2 hour commute is killer. I am usually exhausted when I get home. Plus getting up early just to get to it. I can’t stay up till like 2 like I use to in order to write.
I want to write for a bunch of my au’s
Like Paradox au, Into the Ladyverse au, Partners in Crime au, and Emoticon au.
I have so many ideas, but my schedule leaves me tired.
Thats why I love seeing Pics using those ideas and tagging me in them.
And seeing art of my ideas REALLY makes me want to write.
Then that leaves me the weekend to write. But then there is hanging out with Friends and Family.
My free time and effort in order to write. I might be Able to do some Ml ficlets / drabbles.
But any large scale episode fics are a definite out for now
(I couldn’t even finish my SL au fic for Santa claws)

Hey! So I was going to do this for the FanFic Writers Appreciation Day on the 21st but… I got sidetracked with school and math hw that I haven’t touched in 8+ yrs so yeah!
These are my personal favorite fics! The ones that I’ve bookmarked (Ao3) or added to my favorites (FFnet). These don’t include ones on my subscribe list… I might make a separate post for those????
Everything will be under the cut because it’s a long ass list... I’ve added the tumblrs of the authors I follow, if one of these stories are yours let me know and I’ll add your tumblr too!
Most will redirect to Ao3, but there are a few FFnet only ones, and some that I never crosschecked to see if they were on Ao3...
Feel free to reblog and add your favs too! Show the writers the love they deserve y’all!

You said that you don't have to choose a Ray in Due South, because both Rays are wonderful for different reasons. Can you talk about those reasons? I love RayV, but I've had a hard time liking Kowalski. There's something about his personality that irritates me.
Sure!
Remember, that all of this is my opinion, and one that has been shaped and polished by 20 years of fanfic. This is also long, hence it’s under the cut :D
I wanna begin by saying that I loved Ray V first. When I started watching Due South (because I read a .rtf fic names XDS - a crossover between X-Files, Due South, and Star Wars that I came to though Star Wars and read because I knew X-Files and figured I could learn enough about Due South to make it work), the show was playing on TNT in the afternoons, and may have actually been *before* Ray Kowalski made an appearance.
I watched the first two seasons, I started reading Due South fic alongside Star Wars fic. I discovered Slash, and read a few Ray V/Fraser stories with my Luke/Wedge and Luke/Biggs fic, but at the time I was mostly reading Fraser/Frannie or Fraser/Thatcher.
I didn’t dislike Fraser/Ray V, but I was young -- young enough that I worried about my parents finding the one slash fic that I dared print out (my dad had the internet, my mom didn’t. So, I’d print out stories on the weekend and read them over the week).
Then I found out about Ray K and I stopped watching Due South. I was pissed! You can’t just replace one half of the duo! It doesn’t work like that! But, eventually, I came back. I missed Fraser, and figured I’d give Ray K a shot - and I loved him. They knew not to make him try and fill the same niche - and, when they finally met, the clash between them was perfectly done to highlight the different roles they filled. I dived headfirst into Fraser/Ray K fic (partially because I was older and had lost my hesitation around slash fic, and partially because my mom had finally gotten the internet).
And that, I think, is the crux of the issue. Ray V and Ray K offer Fraser a different relationship because they’re different people and satisfy different needs - thus telling a different story.
Let’s begin with Ray V.
When you look at the beginning of the series, Fraser, like the protagonist of any fantasy story, is orphaned (literally, the first scene is Bob Fraser’s death) and alone- he’s the odd duck, the isolated character to facilitate his travel. it’s hard to go off and be a hero when you have responsibilities at home (hence why in Star Wars Luke doesn’t leave Tatooine until Owen and Beru are killed, or why Harry Potter is hated by the Dursleys). With no siblings (yet), and his mother and grandparents dead before the series, Fraser has no family.
The driving force of the series is thus born, Fraser is looking for the killers of his father - the last of his family (even if he was a terrible father). The family relationships in the show are all very important, and are highlighted in different ways, thus giving us the theme of the Ray V seasons - the importance of family.
Because, Ray V is *lousy* with family in a way that most Italian-American families are - you don’t always like your family, but you *all* gather for dinner when Ma makes her Sunday Gravy. And, in the *pilot* when he’s known this crazy mountie for less than 12 hours, he invites Ben HOME to his FAMILY for FOOD. (Ben is clearly uncomfortable, and it’s played for comedy, but it’s also heartbreaking. Ben is not used to effusive emotion --or any emotion-- and he is certainly not used to so many people acting like such a family.) Ray, in a sense, adopts Fraser.
Now, you can say that taking Fraser home could be a “meeting the family” moment, like bringing home a new girlfriend. Ray is defensive of Fraser’s honor when Frannie hits on him, after all.
But, there’s something about it that smacks more of *family* to me - he brought Ben home to be his *brother* and give Ben the surrogate family he has missed. (hence why Frannie throws herself at him - and also why Fraser keeps turning her down. Textually it’s because she’s his best friend’s sister, but thematically, she’s his new sister as well)
Further, Ray V doesn’t react with jealousy when Victoria blows into down on her ill wind - he’s proud, and supportive, and then defensive when he realizes how terrible she is for Ben.
I mean, yeah, Mrs. Fraser does dance with Ray V, but it’s because Ray V is the “safe” option. Now, if you want to say that’s because Ray V and Fraser are lovers? I can see why! It was certainly important in the few fics I have read, and I see it.
I think, ultimately, Ray V as Fraser’s New Family was the intent of the writers, and the writing on this show is *tight*. It makes sense that, with a plot focused on finding what ended your old family, you find new family.
But then came the brief hiatus, Paul Gross taking over more creative control, and Collum Keith Rennie. PG said in an interview that they’d taking Ray K in a new direction, “very homoerotic, the fans will love it”
And...they did. Ray V’s telephone call - the ache in his voice because he knows that he’s not gonna be able to say goodbye (like Bob) is palpable, and feels almost like a breakup, signaling a shift in tone. This is no longer a show about the search for family - Ben found his family. Even with Ray V off screen, there’s no doubt that Fraser is a Vecchio -- but about finding a *parter*
There’s red ships and green ships but no ships like partnerships.
This half of the show gives us not only this line, but highlights the relationship between Buck and Bob (that was began in Ray V’s season), and focuses more than ever on pairing Fraser off (with more female love interests than Victoria, even though none of them pan out) and on Ray K’s divorce.
Textually, they are two bachelors lonely for love. Thematically, the focus is on romantic parings, not brotherhood.
“A partnership is like a marriage, son”
Ray K comes in, and he doesn’t try to be Fraser’s brother. Fraser has a brother, and wouldn’t welcome Ray K to try and fill Ray V’s shoes. They spend an entire episode showing all the way Ray K would never wear Ray V’s shoes (and not just because Ray K wears boots like Steve McQueen and Ray V wears Italian Leather), and also showing us that Ray K *is there for Fraser anyway*, symbolically taking a bullet the way Ray V did.
(We also see Ray K fall hard for Fraser’s sister in a way that’s dropped, showing the audience, thematically and sub-textually, what they can’t textually because of the censors)
This new Ray, he’s sharp, he’s prickly, he’s “d-u-m, dumb” the way Vecchio was slick, as a way to disarm and play off of the straight forward image of Fraser’s serge. He’s a paradox - a crack shot who wears glasses, a vulnerable tough guy, a romantic punk. He gets under Fraser’s skin in such a way that Fraser begins to relax around him as well. I admit, I have an existing fondness for the tough-guy-with-a-heart-of-gold, and Ray K is that to a T. He’s not perfect (stalking his X, hello), but he tries to be better, and that I appreciate. It makes him a dynamic character. He has a temper, but he flashes quickly and then cools - it’s a good foil to Fraser’s simmering anger.
Remember, Fraser told Ray V about Victoria, and Ray V was sleeping.
Fraser tells Ray K about Gerrard. and Muldoon. and Bob.
Ray K tells Fraser about Stella. and the Bank. and Beth Botrelle.
The audience gets more of Fraser underneath his serge as a result of his relationship with Ray K - who is, himself, an “orphan” (estranged and living at a distance, his closest “family” is his ex-wife) can connect with Fraser on that level because he gets it in a way that Ray V, who has never not had his family, can’t fully.
All of this comes to a head in the finale, when the Rays meet, and we see them clash - this is the “bringing the boyfriend home” moment. Ray K, the “boyfriend” meets Ray V, the “brother”, and the Brother wants to know if the boyfriend is good enough. They tense, and then they both go after Fraser because Fraser draws people in his wake like he walked through a line of streamers.
They go north, and Ray K steps up as Fraser’s parter, taking an interest in the North in a way that Ray V never did (Ray K goes on the quest, Ray V tried to install modern plumbing). An that quest? The closest to “ride off together into the sunset” that I’ve seen outside of Disney.
Ultimately, Ray V sees Fraser like his family: He doesn’t need to understand him, because he loves him and that’s what families do.
Ray K sees Fraser like his spouse: What he doesn’t already understand, he tries to because it’s important to Fraser to be understood.
Both are amazing partners for Fraser to have. Both fill different niches. Both are telling different stories.

CodyLabs Guide To...
Tumblr media
Specifically, I will be analyzing Time Travel in Gravity Falls. Yes it’s a kid’s show and I’m an adult man, but I hecking got myself INTO this, alright? This is IMPORTANT TO ME.
(This also serves as an appendix for my fanfiction, The Forest of Daggers. So if you’ve been linked here from that, good for you. You’re in the right place.)
Anyway.
So.
If you’re ready for some weird science, press the ‘Keep reading’ button and hang onto your butt.
Whenever I watch a time-travel movie, I want to know and understand what’s happening. That is, I want to understand the rules that the movie assigns to this fictional phenomenon. What power or technology allows it? Can you travel to the past? Can you meet yourself? Can you change the past (i.e., is the time travel stable or unstable)? How far can you change the past? Are you yourself affected by changes the past incurs? Does changing the past ‘replace’ the old reality, split the universe into two realities, or warp the reality that is? Do you have free will while in the past? What kind of paradoxes (if any) are likely to pop up, and what the heck does a paradox even do anyway?
Every movie, book, or piece of media seems to have different rules.
Tumblr media
Back to the Future (perhaps the most well-known version) uses a freaky-looking car as a means to ‘time-drive’ to the past. It does allow changes to the past (that is, it is unstable). Changes to the past do affect the time traveler himself (when he accidentally prevents his parents from hooking up, he himself begins to disappear.) He does retain free will. And this movie clearly threatens an unstable time paradox: changing the past would kill the time traveler or else remove his means of ever changing the past in the first place, thus generating an inconsistent loop of causality that just doesn’t add up, no matter how hard you think about it.
Tumblr media
In Groundhog Day (a classic comedy that uses the same exact rules as one of my all-time favorite movies, Edge of Tomorrow) the main character ‘time-resets’ back to the previous morning via his own mysterious innate power. However, his entire body isn’t transported back in time, but only his brain, skills, and memories. He replaces himself, and then has complete freedom to change the past however he can. Although he has complete free will, his memories and everything he brought with him remain unaffected by his changes, thereby never resulting in a messy paradox. The old reality from before the changes is assumed to disappear without a physical trace.
Tumblr media
Terminator goes a whole different route. In Terminator, one cannot change the past at all (doesn’t stop the murderous Austrian robots from trying, but hey, to each his own.) In terminator, time travel is accomplished via a big, ominous time portal, which ‘time-teleports’ folks back without equipment or clothes. Once in the past, the time traveler’s actions inevitably result in the future happening the way it already did. A killer robot tries to kill the mother of the leader of the human resistance, and fails. A human resistance member goes back and makes him fail, along the way getting the mother pregnant with said leader of the human resistance… And to further complicate things, the time-traveling killer robot is reverse-engineered by human scientists, and accidentally used to create the robots that started the whole mess in the first place. This is a clear-as-mud example of a stable time paradox: wherein time travel occurs, and the reason it occurs is because it did. (Sure, if it didn’t occur then it wouldn’t occur, but instead it did so it would, which makes a better movie, so ha, so there.)
Yeah.
Tumblr media
All that being said, what rules does Gravity Falls follow?
Well, let’s start with the basics.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Time travel is accomplished by using small, tape-measure-shaped devices to ‘time-teleport’ one or more passengers at once (along with their equipment and clothes, thanks a lot for making that distinction necessary, Terminator…) to any time in history. In order to be time-teleported, passengers must be either touching the device, or in direct physical contact with another passenger who is.
Tumblr media
Since time machines have been stolen in the show from time to time, and the time-authorities have to physically chase down the time-criminals to retrieve them, we can assume that they are totally independent devices that run under their own power and control. It is never specified in the show how long it takes them to run out of fuel, or if they even require fuel at all.
Tumblr media
Now, as for the actual rules of how time travel behaves, the particulars are never really laid out very precisely. But if you happen to be writing a hard sci-fi fanfic (the unfortunate and uncomfortable predicament in which I find myself), you need to interpret Alex Hirsch’s unspoken rules properly, and need to make your writing fit with his. (Note: In this analysis, I’m going to be ignoring the book “Dipper, Mabel, and the Curse of the Time Pirates’ Treasure”, firstly because I haven’t read it, secondly because it isn’t canon, and thirdly because its many alternate endings don’t fit with the natural stability of time that we see in the show.)
So let’s look at the evidence from the show’s 2 episodes where time-travel is prominently featured.
Diagram of Blendin’s Game:
Tumblr media
Blendin’s Game is very clear-cut, so I’ll start there. In that episode, the time-travel behaves in a highly stable way. Changes they make to the past are already a part of history. (For example, when Dipper and Mabel go to fix Soos’ b-day, they accidentally leave a screwdriver in Young-Soos’ yard. Young-Soos found the screwdriver and returned it, resulting in him getting the job at the Mystery Shack, which is already how things were. Indeed, his job even indirectly resulted in Dipper and Mabel time traveling to fix his b-day.) The alternative (where he never gets his job) never happens. And, since the Time Paradox Avoidance Enforcement Officers either ignore this causality loop or fail to detect it, we can assume that such stable paradoxes aren’t considered much of an issue.
Diagram of a hypothetical Time-Wish use:
Tumblr media
In order to significantly and neatly change history in an unstable way, an enormous power source such as a Precious Time Wish is required. (The key word ‘Precious’ here implies that significant unstable change is NOT normal. It is, in fact, worth Globnaring to access.)
Also, since Dipper and Mabel went 10 years into the past when they themselves were only 12, we can assume that they existed concurrently with their past toddler selves who were likely in the nursery in Piedmont. As would make sense.
As an aside, we also see Blendin freezing local time to talk with Soos and give him the Time Wish. So time machines must therefore have an optional feature to freeze time (except for the time travelers themselves and certain persons of their choosing.)
That’s all clear enough, eh?
Diagram of Time Traveler’s Pig:
Tumblr media
However, ‘The Time Traveler’s Pig’ confounds things a bit. In that one, Dipper and Mabel loop through a day back to “high noon!” several times.
This marks the one and only time we ever directly saw an unstable version of time travel in the show. Dipper tries to loop back around to undo creaming Wendy in the eye, and ends up causing her to get creamed again. As Dipper stated in such impressively large words: “The forces of time naturally conspire to prevent any new outcomes.” So, even though we see multiple ever-so-slightly-different realities arise and fall over the course of the day, only one reality, one that is extremely close to the original, is all that remains after all is said and done.
This means, in a way, that Mabel and Waddles were DESTINED for each other. Unfortunately, this also means that Dipper will need to devote more to this relationship than just a baseball. Poor guy. Nothing worth having comes easy.
Anyway.
‘The Time Traveler’s Pig’ also features one extremely weird detail: when time traveling through the day, Dipper and Mabel never seem to encounter their past selves. (Plus their clothes and bodies never seem to carry changes back in time, nor get older or dirtier. Even Mabel was instantly restored to her former beauty after a month of standing out in the sun headbutting a chunk of solid plastic.) Therefore, it can be assumed that only their brains and memories (and the time machine itself) do any real time-travel. Their minds take the place of their original bodies at the start of the day.
However, the whole brains-only rule doesn’t fit with the rest of the show, or even the rest of the episode. When they start traveling beyond the day, they visit prehistoric times where they wouldn’t have been born yet, the distant future where they would have been long dead, and even appear briefly at previous points in the Summer, while past versions of themselves lurked nearby.
So that’s weird. Part of the episode (the part where they’re only traveling on the scale of hours/days) seems to follow one set of rules, and another part (where they’re traveling on the scale of weeks or more) seems to follow some different rules…
There doesn’t seem to be a clear answer here. Therefore, I will make something up to make it make sense. Namely, I will make up a ‘GroundHog Day switch’ (or GHD switch). When the switch is ON, the time machine will scan the target time for instances of the user’s body. If the time interval is very short (less than a week) and if the user’s past version is nearby, it will attempt to save fuel by locking onto a past version and transporting only the time traveler’s mind, soul, and self. If the time increment is more than a week, or if it cannot find a viable past self for replacement, or if the switch is OFF, then it will transport the whole body.
Over the course of TTP, Dipper and Mabel left the GHD switch ON, which allowed them to repeat the day without countless past versions getting underfoot. Whenever traveling beyond their local week, the Time machine defaulted to non-GHD travel. In Blendin’s Game, however, they probably left it off.
BUT THAT’S JUST A THEORY. A CODYLABS THEORY. THAYNKS FOR WACHIN.
Anyway.
In conclusion to all that nonsense above, here is my personal list of rules for time travel in Gravity Falls, that pretty much encompasses all we’ve seen.
Tumblr media
These are the rules that I have been/will be writing from, and that I invite you to use as well.
Small, handheld time machines can be used to quickly and easily transport multiple people at once, along with equipment. The time machines can travel to most, if not all, points in history. Past, present, and future indiscriminately.
Time machines are capable of freezing local time, at least temporarily. Somehow, this freezing does not harm the freezer or the frozen. (Logically if time were frozen, everything would be perfectly cold, infinitely dark, and the air would be hard as rock, but that’s no fun so we ignore that.)
Time machines can be set to either replace the user’s past self in the target time, or not. If the past version targeted for replacement is more than a week distant, the replacement will not work. The function can be toggled on and off depending on need. (This is just a theory of mine, but I’ll roll with it because it makes enough sense. Plus a story I’m writing kind of depends on it. :P)
Time travel always defaults toward stability. From a practical standpoint, this means that any action undertaken in the past is most likely already a part of history. However, if significant effort is undertaken to deviate from set history, (especially replacing a past version of yourself), unstable change is somewhat possible. Which leads to my most important point:
The wrinkles of instability are usually ironed out by ‘the natural forces of time’. These natural forces take the form of poignant, improbable events: anything from a ball improbably striking an eyeball, to gusts of wind improbably blowing a ball off-course to strike an eyeball, to a girl improbably losing her delicate sanity in order to elicit pity from her brother and convince him to throw a ball in such a way that it could have the chance to strike an eyeball.
Stable time paradox loops form randomly and with some frequency, for no apparent reason besides general weirdness. Any closed, time-like curve, from Soos’ screwdriver loop to the dropped calculator loop, may form and become a ‘canonical’ part of established, stable history. These stable loops are not particularly significant, even if their causality is pretty weird.
Time travelers always maintain their own personal memories of observed events. This includes memories of any realities they have experienced, even those unstable realities which have since been altered or replaced. (This is important, because it allows for linear character arcs amid a nonlinear story.)
Oh yeah, and unstable change is possible and easy using the mighty power of the Time Wishes… And you get Time Wishes by fighting to the death for them. So have fun with that.
