SCOTT AND KIRA

Listen, I love star crossed lovers bound to find each other again as much as the next girl but Allison and Scott were only ever going to be high school sweethearts. They were walking, talking, kissing, foils of each other. Both of them grew into this world at the same time on opposite sides of the fight. Scott getting comfortable in his skin meant that he wanted to reach out and take care of the people surrounding him. Allison on the way to getting comfortable with her identity turned to making certain that she would always be able to take care of herself, and putting a wall up around her.

Scott had incredible chemistry with Isaac and they obviously meant a lot to each other but nothing about their relationship every felt healthy or balanced enough for them to be in any kind of stable romantic relationship.

On sort of the same note, Kira and Malia also had chemistry and were adorable but there was a kind of power imbalance between them and they didn't meet each other at the right time in their lives for them to be able to grow compatible together romantically.

Malia and Scott were there for each other in a rough time and supported each other when there was nobody else and that's really all there was to it for them. I honestly would have rathered that Scott had been allowed to be single for a little, but it wasn't the worst relationship I've ever seen and they were good together while it lasted.

And then there was Kira. Who, while she was growing into her own powers she was always so aware of those around her and trying to take care of them. AND in a world of craziness and violence Scott and Kira were always so so so soft and loving around each other.

Kira doesn't get the love she deserves a lot of the time because she came directly after Allison, which, especially when you're first watching the series, is a HUGE blow and a lot of people see her as an Allison rip off. Which is valid because Allison is framed as the love of his life as first love often is.

But I just think that, the way they both were able to embrace change and took a selfless outlook on life, given the time, they would've grown into an inseparable power couple. They were effectively gentle parenting their entire friend group at the strongest point in their relationship and I just think that they both deserved to be in the kind of relationship filled with trust and a partner who took care of them in the way they needed it.

There's just something that is so important to me about the way their relationship was never put on full display or made into a spectacle. Scott's intensity was toned down comfortably by Kira's calm, Kira's quiet was brought out by Scott's friendly personality. They balance each other out in a really healthy way and ideally they should've come back to each other in the end. Scira my loves you deserved the world and to be together again and to be safe <3

Rainbow World Episode 3 Recap

Episode 3:

The episode starts on a wide shot of the Rainbow World school. It is time for the girls to go on their first mission. Because Sunny was the first to visit Rainbow World, she acts as the team leader. Everyone is excited but Skyler is having some doubts about her rainbow power. Miss Morton shows them a colorful map with gray areas, those are where the squad’s help is needed. The team is named “The Shimmers”. For today, they group will be traveling in groups of two. This episode follows Sunny and Skyler. They enter a portal and teleport into a girl (named Kira)’s room. She is excited to see them; everyone in Rainbow World knows about Shimmers. Kira had just moved and it is now her first day of school. She doesn't know what to wear; none of her clothes “feel like her”. While Sunny is jumping straight in solutions while Skyler tries to connect more with the girl directly. Skyler opens up to the girl about her own anxieties and they have a heart to heart. Kira starts to feel better. Sunny and Skyler sing a song. The girl realizes it was never really about her clothes, she just was just afraid of what people would think of her at her new school. She picks a green outfit that matches her green hair. She creates a rainbow and “sparkle glow”. The girl leaves for school. Sunny is feeling bad for failing to see the girl’s true feelings. Skyler comforts her and they leave through a portal holding hands.

End of Episode 3.

Personal Notes:

If you thought Sunny was annoying before well……she is A LOT here. Sunny is sadly my least favorite character in this new series. 

"The Shimmers" is a name that exists.

This episode was overall pretty cute. Not much to say. 

Now that we have learned the rules of the world in episodes 1-2, I think the show will now be intensely focusing on these missions. 

Shadow High returning seems completely out of the question now.

Milgranon again, hello 👋

I believe the whole deal was that if Yuma *told* someone about the pact, Shinigami or the Mystery Labyrinth, he'd die. Vivia figured it out, so it didn't count as Yuma telling him.

So if Es somehow deciphered the music video and for some reason was like "wait, this labyrinth filled with monsters and mysteries isn't imagery or a metaphor, it's legit what happened" then I think Yuma would be fine, cus he didn't tell them. Or maybe it would count but it'd technically be a loophole because even though they found out from Yuma, it was very much not willing.

And yeah... That's true. If Es did somehow find out about it, that would be quite the strange situation huh. Like... How would you even process that??? Like Milgram the prison by itself is insanely weird and Es just kinda had to accept that but if they learned about Death Gods or Mystery Labyrinths I wonder what their reaction would be.

But yeah all very interesting things to consider this truly is the AU that has SO many possibilities. like... when were all of them taken to milgram? It'd have to be before Yakou's death and Yuma entering that specific Mystery Labyrinth right? We still don't even know how inmates are brought to Milgram. Insane stuff all around.
