The first round of battles were led my Nema and Morelet. Nema’s speed and wide range of attacks paired with Morelet’s bulk and strong jaw made for a fearsome duo.

They had so far torn through the first four battles without having to ask Marigold- or the absolute last resort, Kappa- to switch in. However-

Nema was hit square in the chest by a super effective Mud Bomb, sending her skidding across the train car to Kappa’s feet.

[Kappa]

“Sweet Arceus-! Nema!”

Kappa swept up Nema with shaking arms and hurriedly sprayed her straight in the face with a Super Potion, making her sputter.

[Nema]

“Guh... Tag out.” Nema coughed. She raised her arm and high-fived Marigold, allowing her to switch out of the battle.

Nema tried to wiggle away from Kappa’s iron grip, but Kappa refused to let her go. Nema looked up at her quizzically. Kappa was looking down at Nema with teary red eyes, clearly worried for her.

‘Ah, frick. I was battling so much I forgot about Kappa’s fear,’ She thought.

“I’m okay, friendo.” She said, in a calm voice, hoping to soothe her friend. “It’s just one ground move, I can handle it.”

Nema reached down to rub Kappa’s forearm. Kappa sighed.

[Kappa]

“Sorry. I don’t... mean to be so anxious.”

[Nema]

“Oh, I know you don’t. I appreciate it, but we’ve got this. No need for you to worry.” Nema patted Kappa’s arm. “We won’t let you battle.” Nema was cut off from saying anything else due to a gutteral scream from Morelet.

Marigold removed their hoof from the poor Gastrdon’s side and turned to Nema and Kappa.

[Marigold]

“Okay, we have a break before the next battle, so let’s heal up so we aren’t a complete mess?”

Empires Pokèmon AU!!

I may make some more in the future, but for now I made Jimmy!

The Sheriff, an ex-Gym Leader who resigned after some arguments with the other League members and became a ranger instead! He now patrols his the region to help anyone who needs help, especially in deserts or areas affected by sandstorms (he’d give you goggles)

Team:

Mudsdale (Ground)- His trusty steed (based on Bulls Eye, his horse on the series)

Krookodile (Ground/Dark) - Helpful in sandstorms

Cacturne (Grass/Dark) - It just looks like it has a cowboy hat

Flygon (Ground/Dragon) - It’s used to navigate sandstorm, it’s useful to track down anyone from the sky

Pupitar (Rock/Ground) - For its destructive power (based on Tumble Town’s TNT), it wasn’t originally from Tumble Town as its egg was a mutual gift from a former close friend

Sandaconda (Ground) - there’s a snake in my boot

The Skitty is a version of Norman, but since his team is already full he doesn’t let it battle, it hangs around to help him tho

Runerigus, The Chaotic Serpent (Poison/Dragon) (Ability: Toxic Chain + Merciless) (Moves: Sludge Wave, Dragon Pulse, Scale Shot, Crunch) (Item: Salac Berry) (Nature: Rash) (Perfect IVs) (EV Spread: 252 Att, 252 Sp.Att, 4 Spd) (Desire: The spirit wants to take control of the stone slab) (<-Galarian Yamask's dex entries talk about how the spirit's vitality or something is getting drained and later controlled by the slab, so, the slab most likely takes control of Runerigus but the spirit is still there and now wants payback. Also references Apep, the Egyptian god of chaos who's a serpent and a serpent painting is carved into the slab)

Hydrapple, The Satanic Overlord (Poison/Dark) (Ability: Toxic Chain + Parental Bond) (Moves: Sludge Wave, Dark Pulse, Fickle Beam, Trick Room) (Item: Leftovers) (Nature: Quiet) (Perfect IVs) (EV Spread: 252 Sp.Att, 252 Def, 4 Sp.Def) (Desire: Wants to become more intimidating and scary) (<-References how Satan in the bible, Satan, disguises as a snake, tricks Adam and Eve to eat an apple in the garden. So, I had to reference something demonic to a corrupted Hydrapple)

Ogerpon, The Tragic Victim (Poison/Grass) (Ability: Toxic Chain + Defiant + Mold Breaker + Water Absorb + Strudy) (Item: Toxic chained Mask(Corrupted Teal Mask)) (Nature: Quiet) (Moves: Ivy Cudgel, Horn Leech, Spikey Shield, Swords Dance) (Perfect IVs) (EV Spread: 252 Att, 252 Spd, 4 Sp.Def) (Desire: Wants to have the power to protect its friends) (<-References all of Ogerpon's masks, also, she is forced, you'll see soon ;) (And as for the other masks, you'll see in a bit)

Well I took the fun liberty of drawing these guys based on your ideas! And also because I was not proud of my previous designs

Here's Shiftry, except now he's BIRB

I changed their fans to actual wings but also gave him a kind of retractable leaf blade that Shiftry can use to strike opponents. I still kept some of the wood elements just for fun.

Here's Poliwrath!

I wanted to make it more frog-like (hence the webbed feet) and since it wanted to battle longer on land, I also took a page out of Machoke's Dex entry where its muscles are splitting open due to its strength.

Good ol Krookodile! Except now he swim

I gave this boy some fins, a nice blue covering, and a tail for efficient for swimming. I also gave him some glowy spots for when he's under da water and needs to see

Here's Runerigus!

I took some creative liberties with this one, and eventually decided to have the spirit emerge from the slab as its the one in control now. Since the pattern on the slab is a snake creature, I made the spirit into a snake! I also made the pattern on the slab darker and less vibrant, since the spirit is out and doing his own thing, but if it were to go back to the slab, it would glow again

The boy himself, Hydrapple!

I was REALLY torn on whether or not to keep the Toxic Chain as its neck, but eventually decided to just have it as a scarf. As for the tail, I was inspired by the whole Garden of Eden thing and made the tail longer with a vine and an apple. The tail part was partly inspired by 9's creature the Seamstress (where it lures victims with the thing attached to its tail and then attacks with the rest of its body.)

Now for Ogerpon!

I just altered her cloak/arms thing to be Pecharunt/Dokutaro's colors and made her eyes soulless and empty. I also made her tip of hair/fur(?) down and limp as she's probably very upset to be controlled by the evil peach gremlin.

Teal Mask version:

Made the Teal Mask similar to Pecharunt/Dokutaro while having some differences.

I didn't do the other masks yet, as I still need to work on designs for them

Patient Spotlight. Krookodile, aka "Princess". Female Ground/Dark Likes: Warm sand, the beach, her favorite chew toys, Godzilla movies, her Cleffa doll, and doing Triple Battles with her best friends Sandstone the Flygon and Ivy the Tangrowth. Dislikes: Rain, hail, bitter foods, needles, anything related to Team Plasma, not having her Cleffa doll, and battling by herself.

Princess' trainer brought her to me when she was just a Sandile during the height of Team Plasma's activity in Unova. A Plasma Grunt had attempted to forcefully steal Princess from her trainer, resulting in Princess sustaining a broken jaw and lost limb in the process. Through lots of hard work, frequent visits, and plenty of physical therapy, Princess is now thriving and only sees me now for occasional checkups and to ensure her battle prosthetic is still in working order. Though her jaw is still a bit crooked, she's a fighter through and through and has never let that hold her back. Her trainer (who wishes to remain anonymous) and her best friends, Sandstone and Ivy, support her every step of the way and encouraged her to keep her head up even when facing tough times in her recovery period. She has bitten me once or twice, but always makes sure to apologize by bringing me rocks she's found outside.

Here she is saying hello to a new friend, Archimedes, and probably talking about the new Godzilla movie she saw with her trainer last weekend.

Ok so first pass :

Mikey - fire and/or fairy

Donnie - ghost steel

Leo - flying or fairy. DEFINITELY leaning towards fairy for his affinity for magic

Raph - ground, rock , and or fighting. He gives me 1 type vibes, but if he has double types he'd be ground or rock combined with fighting

These are great takes. Also thanks @ everyone who immediately flooded the replies of this post with pokemon types lmao it delighted me. I'll put all my thoughts and feelings and my personal Pokemon typings opinions below the cut coz it's a little long lmao.

Lots of advocates for Fighting Types for literally all of them, ofc, and while it's tempting for e to give them all Fighting I tried to limit this so we can have more variety, just for funsies.

For Donnie I think I like,,, Electric/Dragon or Steel/Dragon the best, though I also really like Ghost. Lots of Steel/Electric/Psychic as well for him in the responses, but giving him a Dragon type feels really funny to me. I didn't consider it at first but I actually like it a lot. Also my roommate was a huge advocate for Dragon Type and his word carries extra weight coz I like him.

For Raph I think I like Fighting/Ground. (I like the idea of him being a 'grounding force' for the group, leader/heart/most common sense?) Lots of Fighting/Ground/Rock advocates for him in replies, also a few Fairies (<3) or Dragons.

For Mikey I originally really liked Fairy for him, but I actually really like Psychic for him coz mystic warrior, duhhh, so I think Psychic/Fire. (Also this way I can give Fairy to Leo lol.) Most y'all also said Psychic/Fire, we're all pretty much on the same page with him lmao.

Leo I do gotta give him Fairy coz, like, c'mon, and also SOOO many of you like Fairy for him. I'm tempted to also give him Electric or Flying, which I saw a lot of (the temptation to make him and Donnie both Electric coz twins, coz I'm basic) but I also heard Dark which I actually? Really like? So maybe Fairy/Dark. Lots of advocates for Water type as well with him.

Poison/Fighting is great for April! I also like Fighting/Psychic? Maybe single Fighting until she gets Karai'd and then she gains the Psychic type???

For Casey I saw Dark/Fighting which I very much like, though I'm also tempted to give her just Dark (I think we could justify giving absolutely everyone the Fighting Type so I'm trying to shy away from doing it too much lmao) or even the Normal Type because I feel like she spends so much of the series being underestimated and underutilized when she's actually? So very capable and versatile and cool. People sleep on Normal Types a lot but there are plenty of super badass Normal Types.

For Splinter I like Fighting/Ghost a lot. Fighting because duh, Ghost as a nod to his ancestors/destiny/family history, and also his #hauntedpast. I think it's a good look for him.

I saw Steel Type for Casey Jr, which I like, though I feel tempted to give him Steel/Normal to match with his Mama as a nod to her.

Big Mama can absolutely be Bug/Dragon I like that (though I also heard Bug/Poison or Bug/Fairy, which is also fun.)

As far as Pokemon teams-- I've thought of this, too! These are the teams I think I'd give the gang:

RAPH: Beartic, Krookodile, Darumaka, Stufful, Mimikyu, and Hawlucha.

MIKEY: Ponyta (Galarian), Monferno, Smeargle, Braixen, Tatsugiri, and Ninjask

LEO: Lucario, Mienshao, Frogadier, Sylveon, Ceruledge, and Mawile

DONNIE: Metagross, Mismagius, Porygon-Z, Rotom, Noivern, and Tinkaton

APRIL: Eevee, Chingling, Marowak, Vulpix, Axew, and Talonflame

SPLINTER: Hariyama, Roserade, Wigglytuff, Togetic, Snorlax, and Goldeen
