Thoughts and musings and stuff about episode 4

- I like that it was relatively calm in comparison, kind of a breather after the emotional turmoil of the first three episodes

- a thing I adore and always adored about Ellie is that she doesn't let Joel get away with being a closed off dick or treating her unfairly

- the scenes from the game all melted my heart, Bella and Pedro are perfect

- the scene of them sleeping in the woods, Joel watching the trees, then we see Ellie and she turns and suddenly Joel is standing there guarding there little camp was almost like a little jump scare, but it's not something evil but the protector. Loved that.

- I like how Bill and Frank kinda keep influencing everything, not only long term with Bill's letter but also "small" things like Joel's shirt, their bedrolls and also Ellie's gun being the same Frank had, when he went out while the raiders attacked

- perfect capture of Joel being able to be absolutely ruthless to survive and protect others

- Joel immediately forgetting about "let's keep our pasts to ourselves", when Ellie asked about Tommy

- the suspicion that Tommy was the one on the army joining immediately after highschool was right

- I really liked Joel's reaction to Ellie saving her, that he didn't get angry, but more helpless about this unfair reality of children having to act like that. I think his harsh reaction in the game stems from the same anger and helplessness, but I liked that he tries to support her here and talk more, even offers to talk about her past, again breaking his "let's not talk about our pasts".

- Joel telling Ellie not to be an idiot and keep that gun in her pants bad me grinning because game Joel always wears his gun like that and I keep making fun of it, so that's a nice nod.

- the scene with both of them laughing was so perfect: like when was the last time this man was able to laugh about something silly like this? Beautiful.

- I'm already far too attached too Henry and Sam. I will just tell myself again that nothing happens to them, but they end up in Jackson living their best life

- Joel thinking Tommy has fcked up again and he's in some danger, when in reality he's in Jackson, settled down, married (btw I can't wait to see Rutina Wesley as Maria, super excited)

I firmly believe that a lot of the Byler hate comes from people who think that ST is the kind of lowbrow show that wrote Mileven badly because they didn't care and that the Duffers would never even think to make Byler canon. Between volumes one and two there were so many people supporting Byler because they thought it was a genuine possibility but then after Volume two crushed them, they joined the camp of antis that believed that we were delusional for thinking it would be made canon, and now most people who were former Bylers dislike the ship because they think it's all over, and this is also reflected in the views of the GA who think that since it didn't happen in volume 2, it won't happen ever and so they end up complaining about the way the story has been written and refusing to entertain the possibility that it could all be done like that for a reason since they don't want to get their hopes up and potentially get crushed again.

I've talked about this before, but: honestly I think a lot of the issue that we've just had a whole SWATH of popular tv in recent years that had writers finish off complex plots with horrifically written, underdeveloped narratives/surprises that devastated the hardcore fans of the shows (looking hard David and Dan of GoT, but they certainly aren't the only ones), which has left a lot of people ready and waiting to be disappointed by yet another favorite in ST.

I think a lot of people are more willing to write off what happened as shit writing than to believe it was done on purpose TO undermine mlvn and build up byler—and its because it's easier to believe the shitty relating of Mike/El compared to the two "platonic" male leads was an unintended consequence rather than meaningful action, the same way its been in a lot of other popular shows.

Given how many times writers of TV have fcked up the landing on both primary character relationships AND story in general (even without a queer element), their ongoing "its just bad writing, but also I don't know why they did xyz if" takes are understandable, if a bit frustrating for those of us who have spent the last year analyzing it. A lot of people on reddit rn honestly sound like me a few weeks after ST4 finished, because most of them have (quite fairly, if we're all honest with ourselves) not spent their fandom time connecting every little dot across 34 episodes of TV for fun.

Even so: I think most people "irritated" by mlvn while not shipping byler now will be pleasantly surprised if and when Byler gets its due —not necessarily because of "queer rep," but because it means that the way a show was written will have been intentional, and the writing and feelings caused by their earlier seasons will have a purpose rather than being the result of a writer having a plot line they were too stupid to see (or not capable enough) to follow through on. Mlvns who just get to yell and gloat about "winning" while most battle-weary fans stay silent is just part of the wait-and-see of the final season lmao

That anaversary aizen looks absolutely fabulous, he looks like a figure skater xd.

I heard along time ago the last arc of the anime was being animated finally bc they pulled a 90s sailor moon were the last season was not either animated or dubbed untill decades later.

I recall near the end of the current 366 episodes there was an episode were the creapy demon ppl woke up in hell and we're all bitter, and there was the other guy who was like, iM cOmEiNg FoR u IChIgO, but then is never mentioned again after and I'm like,why? Why is lt there just plopted randomly into a different arc that seams unrelated.

And locking aizen up underground seems ok, but It deff won't hold, and he will. Escape, and he will kill, you either need that one spell from star, dubbed, the darkest spell of moon the undaunted, a powerfull dark spell that killed immortal beings, that came from best character, eclipsa, the queen of darkness.

We need that.

Or stick him I'm crystal like eclipsa was in star. Is there no one who could trap him in ice or crystal for all eternity.

How about throw him into the centre of a volcano trapped and caged , forverr being killed by heat?

Yes, I love anniversary Aizen. His original octopus-butterfly hollow design was ugly so I'm glad he's back to being the fashion icon he is.

Locking Aizen up underground once is one thing, doing it twice after saying he got more powerful by just sitting there, and he escaped to battle the Quincy Soul King God... is another. I think he should have escaped at the end of the Quincy arc. That is the only feasibility.

I heard the anime is coming back for the Quincy arc as well, but because of COVID its probably going to be delayed. (I'm not gonna watch it until the Rain section of the arc then I'm dipping out. I'm only here for Zangetsu)

(I didn't understand the explanation or why / how that happens and what that means for the hollow)

And my friend and I were laughing because out of ALL the things. Kubo could do in this anniversary. He gave Syazel his dick back after going to hell. That is iconic. (that's where his hole was located, and now that its not on his body ... well...) This is the funniest thing Kubo has EVER pulled. Kudos to you, sir.

The entire internet is freaking out over Ukitake being in hell. Honestly Kubo has done far worse, and we've established that Soul Society is a corrupt system that hasn't changed, so I'm not surprised he would pull something like this.

At the same time, Kubo 1. cheated his audience. 2. continues to prove me right that he cannot bring himself to kill his characters

1. Hollows who have commit murder in their human life are sent to hell. Syazel and Aaorniero are two of these hollows, and yet, when they are killed, there is NO gates of hell scene. We see them there later in the hell chapter (which was more of a promotion for the fourth movie and I didn't believe it would hold any merit)

But the same goes for Ukitake. We never see the gates of hell take him. What, was hell late? Did hell's gates get lost like an uber before picking him up? It's bull. Withholding such vital information from your audience, not showing the gates of hell when they should pick up this soul IMMEDIATELY is ... I mean its a lie. Kubo lied to his audience.

2. Now we are told powerful shinigami are sent to hell when they die. First of all that sounds like a security threat. Wouldn't shinigami want revenge for that? Or attempt to escape? Why would they still hold loyalty after being sent to a prison of eternal suffering?

Also "Yhwach and Aizen" were the only ones keeping Hell's gates closed is way too convenient and doesn't really make any sense. I feel like Aizen should have deliberately gone to hell to retrieve powerful shinigami / hollows for his army instead of keeping it /closed/.

This is definitely a Kubo-doesn't-know-what-he's-doing-and-is -making- stuff-up-as-he-goes, but it might have a pinch of merit because of previous plot lines.... but either way, there's some big plot holes here, but again, its Kubo, so I expected nothing less.

Again, he can't kill off his characters. He introduced zombification, he introduced immortality through the hougyoku, he has Orihime and Hachigen's reversal / rejection abilities. He brought back Luppi, friggen.... a character who's entire upper half of his body was incinerated. Like.... come on. No. He's dead, you can't bring him back like that. That's a cop out and just weird. You're taking away consequences and grief.

(Also Yamamoto and Unohana deserve to be in hell far over Ukitake, they've done some fcked up stuff in their pasts unlike him)

Also Kubo's favorite character is Mayuri, which.... you're allowed to have a favorite problematic character. But Keeping said character alive and bared from the consequences of abusing his daughter, murdering innocents, and experimenting on your own squad members? Nah. Nope. Kill him, Kubo. Kill this dude.

(his weird attachment to Mayuri is probably why he keeps bringing Syazel back, since Syazel is Mayuri 2.0, but Syazel is the bad guy who does face consequences for his actions while Mayuri is not)

Also, I'm certain Kazui and Orihime are going to be THRILLED that their precious husband/dad is going to hell when he dies :)

(I just... Rukia teased Ichigo about leaving Orihime at home. She teased him about having a house wife who he leaves all the chores to. Orihime had two panels. She checks on her son who promised he would be at home and sleep. Kazui fcking breaks his promise like it never mattered to him and JUMPS out the window after pretending to sleep in front of his mother. ... An 8 year old... alone... in the middle of the night.)

Orihime is abandoned. She is not invited to SS, she is not informed of what is going on, her son leaves her.... I...

Orihime is a side character. She doesn't matter anymore. She hasn't mattered for a long, long time.

A part of me is glad she had little screen time, since she tends to waste it, but another part of me is embroiled with rage.

I've even see people try to defend this. "Orihime and Ichigo can't be together ALL the time, that's an unhealthy relationship!" and I'm like guys... that's not the point. The point is Orihime is not part of Ichigo's other life. Any shinigami stuff from now on is none of her business. She's going to stay at home while Kazui and Ichigo go off and save the world. Ichigo is going to be fighting by Rukia and Renji while Orihime watches from the sidelines, or worse, doesn't even know what is going on with her husband and son. Orihime is going to be uninformed and abandoned, because she has not proven she is capable of fighting by their sides(go on, @ me. I will fight this. She's a failure.), and also because she prefers a human life over a dead one. Which is ironic, because she married a dead man. Ichigo is a shinigami, and he will be one forever. god forbid she ever meets his Zanpaktou. She would tremble in fear at the monsters her husband harbors in his soul, especially when she realizes they don't care about her and would rather see her dead. (Zangetsu would absolutely kill Orihime. Not sure about Kazui, but Orihime has not accepted Zangetsu, she does not like either of them, and the feeling is assuredly mutual.) frick now I want to make a comic about this

Also still frustrated over Zangetsu's shikai / bankai regression. Kubo once again lied to his audience. Ichigo has no bankai. How ridiculous is that? The main character of BLEACH doesn't have a bankai. Insulting.

(RIP to Chad. He doesn't exist anymore. He's just gone. No mention, no cameo. Gone.)

Kazui is a demon child. That character from the novels? Hikone? They're the same character. Literally same personality, same power level. Its worse because Kazui is a liar. He constantly goes behind his parents' backs. He can summon creepy fish and creepy eyeballs and open portals like is ANYONE aware of this? How has SS not kidnapped Ichigo's son and experimented on him / locked away his powers yet? All substitute shinigami require a reiatsu controlling / spy badge to keep them in line. Where is Kazui's? Or is he just a weird fullbringer?

I was worried Kubo was gonna try and pull a knock off Boruto but luckily he kept the focus on Ichigo and the others. But that being said, Ichika and Kazui are now just... sort of there? Kazui was kinda just.... having his own adventure that doesn't matter to the plot at hand, and Ichika had some nice characterization at first but she just hid behind her dad the whole time.

I have a feeling Kazui is gonna step in at the last minute or do some major behind the scenes thing that indirectly interferes with the main plot so no one will realize how powerful and dangerous he actually is. Its sad because Ichika is the superior character in personality and likability, but she clearly is not going to have a bigger part in this.

Ichigo having a normal life after everything still feels extremely boring and uncomfortable to me. Everyone's like 'I'm still bLEACH!" but.... BLEACH just... doesn't feel like BLEACH anymore. It hasn't for a while now.

There's two new shinigami characters. Didn't care for the girl, but the Sign Language kid who talks to animals is adorable ... however... he just reminds me of Chad, and I just... it hurts knowing Chad has essentially been deleted. Chad and Orihime are officially benched. They have chosen the human world, and Orihime has given Ichigo his spawn so she has no more use/purpose to him anymore... ////sigh

Also. This is claimed to be a new "arc". So is the BLEACH manga coming back? What is happening. I thought Kubo was tired and didn't want to do BLEACH anymore. I thought Shounen Jump cut him off. People made so many excuses for Kubo and why the past two arcs have been so badly written the past 6 years and now almost everything they've attempted to defend him with has been revoked.

BLEACH is going to continue to screw up its plot lines and characters, so Its probably best for it to stay dead but I've seen a lot of Kubo stans drooling over this content, they're desperate for BLEACH's return, but its already given out all its possible revelations. There's really nothing else to top here. It's just going to make things up as it goes along ,and I'm not really here for half-assed writing like that, especially since the damage of rushing the previous manga has already been done. Kubo and Shounen Jump are riding off a money nostalgia. None of this was planned.

Honestly though.... overall feeling of this chapter, not as bad as it could have been.

Syazel stole the spotlight, and he's my friend's favorite character, so that's all that really matters.

Last Song: Currently listening to my in love and sometimes mad about it playlist. Strange Girl by Laura Marling is on and is a mood as always. Ah just switched to Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer 🥲

Last Show: I watched a few eps of Old Enough! with my roommate earlier today. It’s about little kids in Japan (like 3-6 yo) running their first errands 🥺. Highly recommend it as a mood uplifting show. I cry from the cuteness every time, I swear..

Currently Watching: I’m currently on rewatch-in-the-background runs of three (!!!) shows: Criminal Minds, Leverage, and Avatar the Last Airbender. Also I’m part way through Our Flag Means Death. Aaaand roommate and I did a partial rewatch of a few Buffy eps last night (Once More with Feeling, aka the musical episode, and then Tabula Rasa) for the drama of it, honestly. And now I low key have the Walk Through the Fire from the musical episode stuck in my head…

Currently Reading: I’m not doing the greatest on the reading front recently. I haven’t read a new book all the way through in a while. But there are two at the top of my reading list that I’m part way through: First, I’m beta reading the most recent edit of my mom’s book (it’s called Sarai of Earth. It’s epic YA scifi and I do love it with my whole heart). It’s been so fun but I’m also trying to help her with alien character design so sometimes it feels like… 10% work and 90% fun. Second, I just started a book my dad sent me about the intersection of prayer and anxiety. I’m always hesitant to mix up spirituality and mental health stuff too much, but this guy is well researched/credentialed in both and has had some good thoughts and suggestions so far. It’s kind of academic writing, though, so can definitely be a slog 😅 I really have to be in the right mood to get through a chapter so I’m going slow.

i know lukanette already ended and i like how they handled it. better than i expected, actually. but there’s this 1% in me that thinks that that was all a ruse especially when he said that he’ll still wait for her (and i know that’s fcked up cuz yah boi doesn’t have self esteem and is so self sacrificial that it’s so saddening, pls stop being a martyr and move on and do therapy or something) or it hasn’t caught up to me fully bec i expected it to be longer (even tho im not a fan of the ship) with all the hype the creators did and the va’s as well as doing a poll on who we want to be canon in s4 just for them to end it in the first ep.

I think Lukanette as romantic interests is over, but they did say he's gonna be playing the violin in an episode in S4 so, I don't think this is the last episode we'll ever see him. It would be nice to see him and Marinette being good friends once the awkwardness subsides though.

I saw your post about novel Aue and decided to start Grab a bite. Right now I'm only on chapter 4 but godddddd Zung's acting is so goddamn on point he really is Aue. It confirms to me the production team fcked up Aue's character in the last episodes for the sake of dontknowwhat, same goes with Aek. Just praying the remaining episodes go back to the soft vibes we were enjoying so far.

The actors are definitely doing an excellent job of embodying the characters in the early chapters, but later on in the book the characters feel completely different to me and that's entirely because the story line gets so jacked, but the actors are doing a phenomenal job.

I don't know what the show is doing. But I will forever be bitter that we don't Aue baking bird cakes every time he feels an Emotion about Aek. We could have had that instead of some of the staring and I would have been delighted.

I also think Aue and Aek communicate better in the novel than they do in the show, especially in the last couple of episodes. I'd be very interested to hear your thoughts once you get further into the novel! So much happens and I would love to keep talking about it with someone else who has read it!

So the last time I watched prodigal son was the episode he fell down the elevator and I missed the rest of the seasons, could you sum it up for me?

If you’re up for spoilers, no problem! Just a quick recap:

Episode 6 - He hits his head! Sam and Chris decided to give us an AU where brightwell fans win and Mal grew up with a happy family - the big take away besides Martin out of jail and cooking? Malcolm realizes his life would be better off like this than the gitb never being found and this father not being arrested. Plot twist, Mal never goes to the hospital to fix his head and Ainsley shows up at his loft covered in blood!

Episode 7 - Mal tries to keep Ainsley confined to his loft because she says she blacked out and doesn't remember killing this person. He stresses the entire episode when she leaves the loft, Jessica's little sister shows up but she basically uses her for a memoir exposing the Whitly's for money bc she's broke, Jess leaves her in the dust. Plot twist! Ainsley's been lying this whole time and remembered what she did, plays a cruel prank on Mal and accuses him of gaslighting her (and then proceeds to gaslight him) and Mal kind of breaks down ):

Episode 8 - Big plot point, established profiler Simon Hoxley jets down to NY from Europe after Nicolas Endicott’s head is found in Estonia. Bright does not-so-good things to get ahead of him while Simon sabotages the Whitly’s to get one of them to slip up and confess to killing Endicott; family panic, Simon runs back to Europe after Bright basically calls him broke and washed up and manages to start a book. At the end of the episode, a new trauma arises: the killer in this week’s case is also the anonymous currier that worked for Endicott who he met when he handed off the body parts! The killer dies after Malcolm fails to save them, no choice but to watch them die.

Episode 9 - An Edrisa-centric episode! Her web sleuthing friends help the NYPD try to uncover a murder. In the meantime, Mal refuses to acknowledge his trauma from losing someone in the field, Dani shares a really vulnerable part about her past, Edrisa gets a new love interest, he gets hit with a car (no hospital!), Gil and Jess rekindle old feelings, Mal slips up big time and pushes Dani away when she tries to get him to open up. Fun fact Mal is hallucinating bad and he's most definitely on the fast track to hopefully a mental breakdown.

I suck at keeping things short so here you go!! In summary Mal is fcked and his life is falling apart because he is scared that his team will leave him if they find out the truth!

Honestly after the last week's episode i was kinda ":///" with Zari 1.0 coming back because i really warmed up to Zari 2.0 but after the season finale,,, god i haven't realized how much i missed her. Zari 1.0 was just, i don't know? Awkward? Self aware? And full of duty and seeing two Zaris next to each other you can clearly see how much their worlds affected their personality and behaviour.

I also loved Behrad and Zari 1.0 scenes because yes they loved each other but they were both aware they they weren't each others' siblings. You could still see how much Zari 1.0 had guilt for leaving Behrad and her last scenes were just amazing.

I absolutely adore Zari 2.0 and her differences with 1.0 but seeing Zari 1.0 just being herself, fixing things, being awkward, being happy just made me realize how much i missed her raw character.

I'm not a heavy shipper of Steelhacker but i think their goodbye was just amazing. The whole time you could see how much Nate wanted Zari to stay but knew he couldn't ask for it really fcked me up ngl and they were just so?? Tender?? I love them very much yes dumbass nate is my favorite thing in the world but this Episode showed his nerdy goofy and tender side so well

I'll miss Zari 1.0 so much. I hope Behrad and Zari 2.0 visits her time to time and chats because she had such a good heart and i wish she didn't have to stay in the totem.

RANT S3 P2: MIDNIGHT SUN #55 SPOILERS BELOW! and me questioning my existence

We all know how bubbly and crazy our beloved mami is, but when you look at her from this point of view in the episode deep down she's a wreck after losing the comrades she's grown to be fond of ever since she joined in the Survey Corps. Hearing her say she talks to herself about these things hurts me because many really thought she was just an abnormal person but she's really just broken

Appreciation for my bud, Moblit. You can see Hanji's world stops in slow motion after the explosion and him pushing her down the well just for her to live. In my opinion he could've grabbed her and went down the well together, but instead the last thing he thought was her and not himself. Moblit was really faithful to her, what's fcked up and emotional here was that he was the last thing she ever saw before she lost an eye. You could've imagine her reaction if they show his death in a gory way.

Thank you, Moblit. For everything..

As for the Captain he looked so desperate to chase after Zeke. Seeing as the promise he made to Erwin now we all see how much he values it. Even though he was weak, he pushed forward, he was betting it all just so he can fulfill what he had sworn to Erwin.

I know some people hate on Mikasa's aggressive behavior and protectiveness, but do you see her? She's scared, she lives in hell. Don't we all become selfish when we value something that made us feel like we're in heaven?

When he told Eren to set his feelings aside for Armin, Eren hit the nerve. He's right though, why did Levi hesitate to give the syringe when Erwin wasn't there? Because he had feelings for him (not saying romantic okay but sure for others) he wanted to wait for Erwin, he knew he would save humanity. But deep down he saw potential in Armin. He just didn't want to lose the person who gave him light.

Hearing his breath hitch when he remembered his last words and Kenny's, he felt his heartbreak because once, they were right. He had to let Erwin go, he deserved to rest. When Floch said Erwin had to suffer more and become the devil, Levi was hurt. Because he was nothing like that, he wanted to save humanity, he wanted to reach the dreams his father couldn't. What could be bad about that?

And as the commander once said,

"When I'm gone, someone else will replace me."

But we all know no one can replace our one and only commander. Thank you, Erwin...May you be united with your father.

You can never tell whether his eyes were teary or detailed, for me I just really see him teary. He couldn't accept that what he said ( "give up your dreams and die." ) had came true. He might be wishing he could take it all back, maybe things would've turn out the other way around? Never say Levi is an emotionless bastard, because you all have enough proof how emotional he is. He couldn't even afford to accept another death from a dear friend/family.

They all deserved better than that crooked world they're in.

It's sad to see Bertholdt smile with a small tinge of hope when he saw his comrades. Like Reiner at that moment he didn't see himself as a worrier, but a soldier— part of the survey corpse, a comrade. But he wasn't. He never asked to live this way, he never wanted any of the crap piled up on him. He just wanted to go home.

He never even got the chance to tell Annie how he felt...

Finally this, Levi really does admire Erwin. To the point he didn't want people to look down on him, especially after what he had done over the years he's been part of the scouts. He wanted Floch to change his perspective on him, because he didn't want him to view him as a demon, but as Commander. A human.

Seeing him and Hanji remaining, both of them are going to have a hard time accepting one another if they lose eachother (srsly don't kill them..) they have to take care of themselves together...they can't afford it. Really they can't.

And yeah I'm not writing in Caps, I'm really emotional at the moment and this broke me. I don't even have any words to explain how my heart broke and how I cried like a sissy. My heart is really heavy, this would be the last time I'll see Erwin, Bertholdt, Moblit, etc in action. Attack on Titan really is a cruel, depressing anime (I know there's a lot) if they were real right now, I hope they're at peace. Neither one of them wants to die so fast, and neither one wanted to live the nightmare.

That line hit me, combining the fact that Armin is the narrator and all and he did say in episode one, 2000 years from now....either everyone's dead and he's the last one remaining..I hope not.

My boi lost half of his teeth with just a damn punch Jesus it's either that's how monstrous Levi is or that's just how much we all know Eren brushes his teeth.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SOUP REVIVAL

OKAY PREPARE FOR A LONG WINDED RANT THAT WILL MOST LIKELY BE INCOHERENT!!!!!

ill try to break everything down in different sections. i feel like very few even care about this, but The Soup means so much to me and i will defend it to my dying day!!!

ANYway, here are my thoughts on “The Soup Revival” happening in 2020:

1. this whole thing honestly feels like a betrayal to joel and to the entire hardworking crew who made the show from 2004-2015. not only where they barely getting air time towards the end of the series, but they were treated poorly (a whole issue with paying the writers) and they were scolded for making fun of their own network.... which they had been doing for 11 freaking years. and the fact that E! canceled the show for not bringing in viewers and making enough money, but is now bringing back the show with NONE of the original crew is just rude and fcked up! i’m 99% sure they didn’t even mention the revival to anyone before the announcement. not to mention, E! isn’t even addressing that the show was canceled! they’re just saying it’s “returning,” insinuating that the show ended on its own terms (when in fact, they broke the news to joel and the crew 5 weeks before the final episode date)!!!

2. i have nothing against the new host and i’m sure she’s very talented, but there is no soup without joel!!! and yes, i know there were at least 4 hosts on Talk Soup from 1991-2002, but there is a reason why there were four different hosts in the show’s 11 year run, while joel was the ONLY host in The Soup’s 11 year run. joel and the crew were the heart of the show. they are the reason why it was so successful. so to get a new host and re-brand this show as a revival of original The Soup is just so WRONG. honestly, they would be better off to call it something else or to at least consider it as a spin off! if they want to bring back the same format, then fine!!! but give it a different name!

3. which brings me to my THIRD point. the fact that they’re calling it The Soup just makes me think that they’re trying to make money off of something that already has an audience and following. They’re cutting out the hard work of building a new show. i opened instagram yesterday to see the original soup account announce the show’s return, and then went to the profile to find that ALL of the original content was deleted! and not only that, the only thing that remained the same was the follower count. E! knows that everyone misses the the show, so this is a quick fix, money grabbing attempt. and i’m really heartbroken that the old content is gone, almost like it meant nothing to so many people.

4. i could be completely wrong by saying that this “revival” won’t work and that it’ll be canceled after one season, BUT i truly believe that the reason why the original show worked was because of joel and the chemistry he had with the crew. he made the show with his best friends, and that’s why it had so much heart. there will never be another uniquely funny, self-deprecating, self-aware, and original show like The Soup. i can’t imagine that this revival will even come close. (if the new host even utters the words ‘reality show clip time,’ ‘so meaty,’ ‘chicks man...,’ etc. i will flip my LID!!!!!!!!) ((i also think this relates to why The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale didn’t work, but i’ll save that rant for another day))

5. okay i’ll try to make this my last point. i was devastated when The Soup ended, and i wish it was still on my tv every week. but four years later, everyone moved on from it and it’s now remembered for the greatness that it was. joel is continuing to do amazing things and he’s taking roles that he deserves at this point in his career. plus, i’m sure he has nothing but good things to say about E! and the new host and i know for a fact he will wish them well when he’s asked about it. despite that, i think the network really did him dirty, especially because he’s always been so kind and generous, and he’s the reason why so many people tuned into the network every week.

but i guess i’ll just end this rant by saying????? nothing will ever replace The Soup, and that Joel freaking McHale deserves the world! i’m sorry if this rant barely makes sense, it’s hard to put into words everything i’m feeling about it. i tried to leave out the really personal/sappy stuff because this is already too long of an explanation anyway lmao

I first watched this episode without taking any notes and I was too upset.

Then I re-watched it and hurt myself again so you better read this until the end. 🤨

1. I said this on my review on ep5 before, P'Bone, you will get hurt. 😭 Why won't you listen to me! That shocked face tho. 😢

2. Product promotion is really high on this drama huh? I'm not totally hating it but picking a gift for the girl of someone you like? Bruh. That hurts like crazy.

And don't get me started with thank you gifts. Third's the type that will help you without asking something in return. And what's with that deep meaning over a slate? Third please, don't get swayed over that. 🙄

3. I feel so upset right now I can't fangirl more over P'Un. 😩

4. You kiding me!? Khai is drunk and it's not even his birhday. 😒

5. Am I supposed to be happy over that unwanted kiss?? 🤬 Really Khai??? I am so frusrtated right now, I tearing up. 😤😢 Back off from my baby you bastard!!! 😡

6. Praew, girl. I don't wanna hate you but please stop hanging out with that boyfriend of yours. He's a jerk. This for your own good. Believe me. 🙂

10. I'm very happy to see Third out of Khai's shadows. Just do what makes you happy baby. We're totally gonna support you.😁 Except if its related to Khai then we're out.😤

11. The way Third's expression changed. From😊 to 😞 when he saw them in the library. 😭

12. So, they will be creating a movie out of Third's miserables love life??? Shane bruh. Why you do this??? 😢

13. Look how happy Third is without Khai on his side. I really hope this phase will continue postively so that my baby won't suffer anymore. 🤗

14. And Khai looking so miserable is like a breath of fresh air. You know you deserved it so much bruh. And it's not even enough. 👏😁

15. And here is Khai with his self-pity. I'm not falling for this bruh. And I hope Third too cause you knwo how soft he is when it comes to Khai. Please Third! Hold yourself together. 😟

First of all, fck you Khai for the nth time! Damn you. Never met anyone as fcked up as you. Watching a private video? That's invation of privacy. I can toally sue you with that.

18. And you know what, maybe they were using Un and Two to redeem this episode and I can totally agree that they're doing it right. These two are the only reason I survived this episode. The way their getting chummy? More of that please.

I'm relatively new to bl drama (just started around December of last year). I already finished a few dramas and I swear I have never encounter a character as frustating and damning as Khai's.

Kudos to all the people behind this drama, especially Off and Gun. I'm prasing you two now. 😁 You too Off. 😂 You guys did really well. You made me feel this way and I think it's okay to be this frustrared every once in a while. Lols.

If I met a Khai in real life, bruh, I know what I'm gonna do. I will do all the things I been keeping inside when I'm seeing this Khai (in the bl world). 😤

I'm just half-way and I think my energy is super drained already. Hahaha. 😂
