ok genuinely what is up with c!slimecicle getting shot by heavily religious themed/ immortal/ deity characters in the chest with semi automatic weaponry. i stg this has happened at least four times like there has to be some sort of meaning to this and if there’s not i’m willing to find some anyway

like fr it’s happened on the qsmp about 2-5 times now and i’m only on the fourth vod, and that’s not even mentioning the 100 day evolving apocalypse video and i’m certain there are others. the parallels, they are calling to me. there’s something there, i can smell it

fiber arts really is such an insane category of Things in how it can draw you in. like, 6 or 7 years ago i learnt to crochet and made a few terrible hats and scarves. then i learnt to knit because i wanted to knit a scarf for my friend (now fiance :D). then i realized it should be a woven scarf so i picked up weaving instead, but i still really liked knitting so now i was doing 3 crafts. somewhere along the way i started dyeing yarn as part of my kitchen experiments, and then i was like fuck it i wanna make my own yarn ! and that is where the problems happened. in the span of like 5 years ive acquired like $2000 of various tools (spinning wheel, combs, cards, blending board, several looms, etc), bought dozens of fleeces, and now my bedroom is basically a craft room with a bed, i have wool covering every flat surface in there as well as a huge dresser full of wool and several large drawers full of wool, i meticulously scrape every last bit of avocado out of the peel so i can use it to dye fleece, and i don’t go anywhere (including in my own house) without at least 2 knitting projects and a spindle.

im not complaining or anything, but the rapid shift from ‘guy who does stuff, idk’ to ‘guy who is worryingly obsessed with wool and will infodump at length about medieval sheep husbandry and the history of nettle as a textile if you give him half a chance’ is like. extremely funny to me.

dont mind my messy desk it's just all my needlefelting stuff ^^ the armature's legs ended up being a bit too long, and i made the head smaller than i would have liked, but it turned out being alright i think! i had to upturn the ends of the legs many times so theyd get shorter XD also i went about attaching the paws n undershirt to the body a bit weird so the constructions a bit... loose... so just dont be rough with him XD

Howdy. Odd question, but do you have any advice for new peeps joining the fandom?

i don't know that it's a super odd question, but, i also don't know that i'm the best person to ask, having been in the fandom so long XD

But, I guess I'll give it a shot...?

Watch/play the source material! Undertale wouldn't have such an extensive fandom if the game itself wasn't incredible. If you can't play games or it's too expensive for you right now, there are plenty of great playthroughs on youtube--I like MarcoMeatball's and Symbalily's neutral/pacifist runs. If you really want to explore everthing, Hawlo's no-commentary playthrough is extremely thorough and good for getting immersed.

Watch the 5th anniversary concert! It seems a fair few people have missed it over the years, but it's a beautiful rendition of nearly all of the game's soundtrack by a full orchestra. Their dedication and skill is truly impressive, and the instrumentation is excellent. It's best experienced with some good headphones :>

on a similar note (heheh), the Undertale covers by RichaadEB and Amie waters are great too, and there's plenty of other excellent covers out there. Definitely take some time to seek the work other fans have shared--there are some really talented people out there ^^

when it comes to finding fic or fanart however, i'm not sure how easy it is to search for; the tags on tumblr are notoriously unreliable, both because the search function is not great, but not everyone uses tags. But, if you can find a few blogs who post things you like, check out who they reblog from too--you might be able to find more that way. Don't be afraid to go back into a blog's archives too--there could be buried treasure in there :>

That's all i can think of for now, but I'm sure my followers could think of things to add, so check the comments/reblogs once this post has had some time to simmer ^^

#galarian slowpoke #picture this. this was the first pokémon revealed from the new DLCs for pokémon sword and shield. the pokémon company #up until this point‚ has never done DLC for a pokémon game before. you‚ having been jaded by shitty DLCs for other games in the past #now have a distaste for the phrase‚ and imagine this can't be good. then‚ in their teaser for the new DLC‚ they add a little event #into the game where they reveal one of the new pokémon that is going to be added in the DLC #and it is a galarian form. that is identical to the original pokémon. but with a yellow head #are you imagining it. now how fucking disappointed are you. how little faith do you have in that DLC that it's going to be as good as it wa #for the most part‚ the pokémon company has demonstrated that they do absolutely excellent DLCs. proper expansions #basically an entire other game on top of the game you already have. and they typically take up the release cycle of a full game #scarlet/violet's especially. I saw someone (I’ve forgotten who!) post a couple months ago, asking if it’s ever established in canon whether Mairon ever found out it was Finrod in Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Short answer, after perusing the relevant text: no. 

My personal interpretation, for my own amusement: I think he’d figure out Beren, since his run-in with Luthien and Huan happened shortly afterwards, but had a complete Kronk moment with Finrod, years down the line. Like, you know when you’re an expert in a subject and some things totally fly under your radar, because it doesn’t occur to you that anyone would do anything that dumb? I think that, being a master of deception, he wouldn’t realize what Nereb and Dungalef stood for, not for literal ages, because who uses their real names just backwards/anagrammed when infiltrating an enemy stronghold (and arguably the most dangerous stronghold, second only to Angband), that’s just so stupid so stupid it actually worked XD 

(In his defense, there was a lot going on in the First Age. A Lot.)

But. 

I like to think it plagued him for years :)

Headcanon: Lucifer visits Earth every decade or so as a part of his job as the ruler of Hell. He does it to learn about new sins as "subtly" as he could.

Lucifer: What is ray-sings-sims? Raising-sims? Raisins? Rain-Race-sin? R-Racisms? YES! That! Is it the one where people hate on the opposite sex for absolutely no reason even though humans were all made of the same cosmic dust?

Black woman: (Looking amused at the most stereotypical rich white guy she's ever met asking about sexism and racism.)

Lucifer: Yeah. This cocaine thing is doing nothing for me. I don't really get it, but this is a sin too. So marking that off the list! Thanks for letting me have a go at this, uh, Mr. Dealer? That's your last name, right? Oh man. I'm really bad at remembering names, but have this as a token of my appreciation. (Gives him a thousand dollars which is basically worth even more at the time.)

Drug dealer: (Gobsmacked the guy was still able to keep walking after practically inhaling every drug in existence back then.)

Lucifer: So this, um, cult thing? How did it get assigned to our department again? It sounds just like what Heaven does to me. Huh. Ah well. I guess I'll just roll with it like everyone else here. #lay rambles #my ocs #oc: liam hawke #oc: lilian hawke #both my hawkes are very social w their friends but i love comparing their boundaries around it #theres variation in rules for specific ppl with both of them ofc but theres still general differences #with liam its all very open and everyone can p much come and go whenever #they dont get extra keys (theyll get lost and he doesnt want randos finding them lol) but they know where to find the spare key #and bodhan and sandal and orana know to let them in whenever #hes very lenient in this this regard but he does have rules abt what he does and doesnt want them to do #mostly its about not making too much of a mess lol bc liam prefers to clean himself #(he doesnt trust the crew with his household and also he has particular ways of doing things and Hates when theyre done differently) #so things like keep your dirty garb at the entrance dont cook by yourselves (this was banned after they did it one (1) time lol) etc #also no fucking allowed. do that somewhere else for the love of the maker he does NOT want to walk into that in his own house #(and it also comes back to liam not trusting them with cleaning but also Not wanting to clean that up lol) #also he is not fond of them going into his room uninvited. most of the house is chill but that is *his* space #he accommodates these rules by e.g. having spare slippers and a little washing basin in the entrance hall for dirty shoes/feet #always makes sure to have snacks in stock that he knows they like #food will have notes abt what to leave for leandra/orana/etc but otherwise food is prepared with his friends in mind #and in general he'll make sure to adjust the space/routine in little ways to accommodate them #(air out when fen isnt there cus he doesnt like drafts; keep curtains open cus anders prefers open spaces; etc) #lilian on the other hand doesnt like when her friends come into the estate without a heads up (cept for emergencies) #but once they have her 'ok' its basically mi casa es su casa #dont yknow. overdo it and get too rowdy but otherwise do whatever #however. she also expects everyone to clean up after themselves. she aint here to play maid and youre all adults #also liam has a general 'please try to not be too wild when leandra is here' and lilian doesnt #not cos she doesnt care but cos leandra is bothered by sth she can speak up herself #oh and lilian uses the basement space as temporary refuge for anyone who needs it (mostly escaped mages) #also side note: both offered gamlen to stay but he refused (out of pride/remorse) #...this got long and i ran out of tag space lmfao so this is it for now xD
