Life painting workshop

I chose this today, so that I can improve my painting skills and focus on it for the week.

We began by mixing colours to get a dark, medium and light shade and setting up our easels, with the help of lecturer Sylvia.

Sylvia then showed us quickly how to create a human figure; how to use a pencil to roughly measure a figure. I found this information quite useful.

We then began to paint. I could not take progress pictures as no phones were allowed in the room.

But here is my finished work.

Critiquing my work:

▪️my tone use was alright, it could have been better in areas (Time and the brush I was using affected this).

▪️my figure is done well in length but feels quite wide in width, especially the models feet and ankles.

Overall though, I'm happy enough with my work.

After the group finished painting and the work was dry, we critiqued and curated them on the wall together.

It was good to see everyone else's work beside mine, as I can see and learn how other peers painted the figure.

To conclude, this workshop has been beneficial for me. I feel it will help me to recreate my yoga poses for my project well.

Some studies I did for my artclass this morning! Had a ton of fun making these, the model was very nice :) For the last one, our teacher wanted us to imagine a humanoïd alien-type creature, and I'm planning on completing this piece! Maybe not right now as I've got so much schoolwork to do, but sometime in the near future :D
