Not for three. He never celebrated christmas in the early 2020 not even after the arc but four was kind enough to invite three in the recent years to make him have to experience whats special about it.

But three was too embarrassed from four's crew because they've shown alot of kindness towards him that he'd never experienced at all and this was his first time hearing it all out on them.

After he says "f-friends?!" He continues on playing "I'd rather die than have you guys as friends"

Which also meant he did. Almost. Die. Saving four.

Did you notice smg4 in this scene? Did you see the way he looked at three? Did you SEE how he giggled and laughed just by seeing his expression?

Heart tingles you know? And this IS also the first time he's done that.

Not only was it delicious- Three too was smiling at four, supporting his idea and not even LEAVING by his side. (Like have you noticed right after both of their places got destroyed- these two completely HAVE NEVER SEPARATED AND STUCK CLOSE TOGETHER?)

This also provens he's on the right role after all. His character development did improve his changing around his friends even after 2020th - 2022nd

Who knows that maybe four's crew knew that three wasn't so bad after all? That he was just in need of friends because he'd been so alone from time to time?

Still. He smiles. Not just for the holiday spirit, but to his new friends, and four to have on. (Mention of mario makes turkey for upcoming xmas episode four convinced EVERYONE from the crew including three, BUT HE NEVER LEFT BY HIS SIDE. Literally the moon is stuck with the sun)

Four and three? They both contacted atleast EVERYONE from town they know. (Even three never considered belle, whimpu, or the so called fake-other-versions of theirs who became his crew during 2020th wotfi he still has a heart to consider them all as being in part of his life.)

We never get a mistletoe scene sadly but we had a precious smg34 collection here...

Even after this hand taking, Three and Four looked at eachother together before they start to sway and celebrate the christmas holiday.

You dont see these fruits being like that often, so its a very rare one in the new episodes. (Considered again. Three has gone soft. TOO soft for being with four's crew and being with... smg4...)

i know the idea of being queerbaited by an evil scientist man and a secret agent playtpus is ridiculous and hilarious, but r we getting johnlocked just a little bit? maybe just a little…. because i’ve always been of the opinion that perryshmirtz will most likely never be a canon storyline for a bunch of reasons, and as much as i’d like that to happen, i can see how some oblivious straight people (so… probably a lot of the writers let’s be real) could reasonably watch all of phineas and ferb and think there’s absolutely nothing homoromantic going on between the two of them. like of course there’s jokes about them being like couple in the same way we get it for buford and bajeet, but, at least when it was airing at the time that it was, that was neverrr going to be acknowledged as anything but funny funny haha joke. like i love dwampy but this show is not crowned for its thoughtful and progressive takes there is SOOOOO much racial stereotyping and ignorant shit in pnf. relationships between two men were not going to hold the same narrative weight as a hetero relationship

so yes i think it’s a bit of a stretch to say pnf in itself is queerbaiting with perryshmirtz, but THESE SHORTS… this is like……. a lot man it’s a lot man it’s a blessing and a curse. i hope it’s just a couple folks who like perryshmirtz putting those bits for funsies but i’m getting suspicious. i’m raising my eyebrows up and down, feeling as if i’m seeing flags of a.. pinkish hue… reddish, perhaps.

My Ranking of TVD Seasons

*spoilers ahead*

NUMBER 8 - SEASON 8

I mean…do I need to even explain this? We all saw season 8. It was a mess. I felt like I had to drag myself through this season, just because I wanted to see how it ended. The only highlight for me was the ending.

NUMBER 7 - SEASON 5

The characters going to college was always going to be a strange transition - as it is in any tv show that starts with the characters in high school - and I just didn’t like the change. I can’t even put my finger on a specific reason why. It just felt different. This season also had the Travelers and Markos, who were just boring villains. The whole Silas/Qetsiyah plot was interesting at first, but fizzled out for me. The only highlight I could maybe pick out is Katherine’s arc. The show just didn’t fill the hole that the Mikaelsons left behind imo.

NUMBER 6 - SEASON 7

I didn’t completely hate this season. Ngl it was weird without Elena. That being said, I actually liked the time jumps in episodes. I wasn’t a fan of the Caroline pregnancy storyline, but that only happened because Candice King got pregnant irl. It just seemed to me like Caroline felt so bad for Alaric & everything he went through in S6, that she continued the pregnancy out of pity for him. The whole Alaric & Caroline “romance” (if you can call it that) was disgusting too. What were the writers thinking. I enjoyed the Damon and Bonnie moments though and Bonnie finally found a good love interest in Enzo. The Heretics weren’t all terrible either. I liked Nora. The Originals crossover ep was a highlight too.

NUMBER 5 - SEASON 6

Season 6 was a mixed bag for me. I really loved the whole prison world storyline. I thought it was unique and an interesting way to keep Bonnie and Damon alive after the S5 finale. It completely changed their relationship for the better too. Kai Parker was a great villain, one of the best in the whole series. I remember when he first told Bonnie and Damon about what he did to his family, that was the first time I was genuinely disturbed by a TVD character. Liz’s death was so emotional. Elena’s storyline this season was dull and I didn’t enjoy the whole Lily Salvatore thing. The season finale at Alaric and Jo’s wedding was crazy though.

NUMBER 4 - SEASON 4

Hope Mikaelson tutorial above 👀. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I actually liked Elena’s transition and then her no humanity arc. I seriously didn’t like the sirebond thing though. That felt icky to me. Her relationship with Rebekah from enemies to kinda friends was nice. Going to Silas island for the cure was interesting. Did I love the cure storyline? Not really, but it wasn’t the worst.

NUMBER 3 - SEASON 1

So many great moments. I just love this season. I will say, the pilot is a little rough, but most pilots are, so I don’t hold it against the season as a whole. While I’m not a Stelena shipper, I do think Stefan and Elena were very sweet in S1. Elena was also at her best in this season and season 2. When I say I like Elena, it’s this one I’m referring to. Damon was in his villain moment. The arrival of Katherine at the end was just perfect after all the talk about her throughout the season. I will say, I didn’t love S1 the first time I watched it, but when I went back and rewatched it, it became one of my favs.

NUMBER 2 - SEASON 2

This season? Oh this season keeps you on your toes. Elijah’s first appearance was so damn good. The moment at the school dance where Bonnie looks at Elena as she fakes her death with the sparks falling around her was a beautiful shot. I was so stressed the first time I saw it because I really thought Bonnie died. The build up to Klaus’ arrival and then him taking over Alaric’s body, so we kind of got a sneak peek of the character before Joseph Morgan fully entered the show was fantastic. I wish he didn’t kill Jenna, but he wouldn’t be the villain if he didn’t do horrible things.

NUMBER 1 - SEASON 3

The best of the best. The absolute pinnacle of the series. Season 3 was non stop action. It never got boring. And of course one of the main reasons why this season is number one for me is the introduction of the full Mikaelson family. The Originals brought so much to TVD. This was THEIR season tbh. They were the best villains ever in the series, and watching the Mystic Falls characters try to take them out never got old. From Stefan’s ripper arc, to the Mikaelson ball episode, to Alaric being turned by Esther, and then finally, Elena’s death and transition in the final episode; it was just simply a perfect season.

I just watched “Between Sleep And Awake”.

As an actor, I loved watching Diego Klattenhoff’s performance. Not only did he hit different emotions with Ressler, but he showed different points in time. I feel like I learned a lot.

As a Keenler shipper, this episode… broke me, but in a good way. I’m glad we got to see just how important Liz was to Ressler. My theory is that he always loved her, but tried to respect her relationship with Tom and their status as coworkers. At the end, when he touched the gravestone and said, “I’d like that,” it was more poignant than just saying “I love you”.

I hope The Blacklist continues diving into emotional moments. They really know how to do them.

rewatching the blacklist from the beginning & the thing that gets me is just how often Liz and Ressler… stare at each other??? like even in the early days when Liz was “happily married” and Ressler quite obviously didn’t trust her — they were always still just looking at each other, observing one another, gauging each other’s reactions to anything and everything. so like, of course Ressler knows immediately when something’s up with Liz’s marriage and of course Liz knows something must be really wrong when Ressler is late to work and has poor reaction time in the field… because they’re always looking at each other!!!

like there is a ridiculous number of throwaway shots of them watching each other in debriefings when neither of them even have any dialogue and aren’t even the focal point of a particular shot. and look, my shipper heart has been here since romeo, the access code is romeo but even I didn’t realize how blatant all the staring was. and now I’m so curious about if that was a director-level decision or if it was a diego/megan decision, because watching it with the benefit of hindsight on how their story ends just makes the evolution of their relationship so much richer.

Alright so I really stumped myself trying to figure out how to discuss this ep since the show has all of a sudden decided to actually be a soap opera. So I decided to go with Trina/Portia and non-Trina/Portia thoughts lol. In non-Trina/Portia thoughts:

- Attentive Spencer is always something to behold. Spencer trying to calm a defiant, pissed Trina in the background while Portia tries to do damage control with Curtis. Spencer rubbing Trina's back in front of the Ashfords and immediately pulling away when Taggert stepped up (he knows who her real dad is lol). Spencer instinctively following Trina when she was getting ready to go confront her mother in private even though he obviously wasn't going to be able to follow her all the way.

He was so focused on getting a status update from Trina (even though she had only just left!) that he got ambushed by the Golden Trio of Paternalism. He handled said Golden Trio like a champ and respected both Trina's agency and her wishes in his short explanation to them. O particularly loved the way he kept emphasizing "Trina felt" in his explanations. He was letting this group (Curtis and Marshall especially), that likes to act like Trina is too naive to make her own decisions and is just being led all over the place by Spencer, know that Trina was actually taking the lead for all of this. This is ironically the most impulse control we've seen Spencer display and it was in the name of keeping things as calm as possible for Trina.

- Heather, Ryan and Amnesia Esme on the run is fantastic. We owe Heather so much. She gave amnesia Esme an emotional core when she was lacking, she finally got lazy Ryan out of the chair and in rampage mode, she probably killed Rory, and hopefully her escape plan gets rid of the demon spawn one way or another. This woman is a national treasure to me at this point. Ryan back in his element was also super fun to watch as was him announcing to Amnesia Esme that he was her father. I definitely believe she has amnesia now but I still don't see what the point of it is. The actress is playing the fear well but I just think psycho lolita on a rampage with her parents would've been more enjoyable than her being a damsel.

- The main interesting thing I got out of the Maggie scenes is confirmation that Esme sought Ryan out rather than vice-versa. The girl had Maggie who loved her but was so obsessed with biology that she chose her serial killer father over Maggie and then proceeded to do his bidding. Feels crazy to me to leave Esme amnesiac during this because this is the one time where some pov from her on this insane decision would be interesting and I don't even like the girl.

- Austin has definitely done something with Nik's body already because this is like the third time he's stalled Ava on moving it. Ava ruminating over being a survivor above all else will never not be great stuff for me. I love that Ava has a "cover up a murder" black outfit on standby. And I obviously love that Felicia and Ava were going to come together to take down Ryan. Now that Ryan has shown up on Ava's doorstep, I hope Ava gets her glock and kills that man. I love that Felicia is all over this because she has been regularly reminding us of how badass she is of late and as the og victim of Ryan, it's only fair that she gets to be in the thick of what I'm predicting is probably his last stand (🥺).

- Pikeman this, Pikeman that, call me when someone gets trapped or arrested. I do wonder if the buyer of the product that Pikeman wants to move through PC is actually Victor since Valentin was the one who weirdly got this plot started.

- Manifesting the Terry and Yuri wedding next but I need them to stop being problematic Liz/Finn shippers

there’s actually something so gut wrenching about first portraying this whole thing of pan realizing way is just as sleazy and terrible as all of the other guys. like the clear disgust and disappointment is PALPABLE, especially when way goes to touch “kim”

You mentioned that you used to ship Bamon and Steroline, was there a particular moment/scene that made you stop or you just realised one day you don't feel it anymore?

Ha, this was longer than I expected it to be.

Kind of both for SC and the second for Bamon. So for both ships, I held onto them long after I realized that I wasn't feeling them anymore, like with Bamon, I realized it was all about the chemistry early in season 6 when I watched them bicker and was like ... this is one-sided bickering but I ignored how I felt about that because they were very fun to vid and I had a lot of potential ideas of where Bamon could go and I just made excuses and then somewhere down the line, probably around when Damon and Elena left Bonnie in the Prison World and didn't meet her halfway, I just admitted that I really didn't care for the narrative they were given, and then it just got worse when Bonnie got back and then at the end of the season Caroline Dries wouldn't shut up about the Bamon dynamic and what it would mean in season 7 and she was pissing me off

and then that got me thinking about early seasons Bamon because I had still kept defending Early Seasons Bamon but when I thought about it, I was like, but what does Damon do for her, we keep saying that Bonnie is the person Damon respects the most even in, like, season 2, but what does that actually mean? Like why does that matter? And I was just like, the way Damon is written and the way they write characters in relation to Damon? Bamon doesn't actually work for me, they just have really palpable chemistry that's compelling to see onscreen but I can't ignore how awful the writing is and going back to those posts when I was, like, transitioning out of Bamon because I was doing it on tumblr since other Bamon shippers were asking me why aren't you vidding anymore, why aren't you into them as much anymore, you can see me working through it

I only became way more hardlined and sarcastic about it in season 7 when the anons came.

With Steroline, I dramatically lost interest during the episode of Liz's funeral because I thought the writing was extremely shitty:

but I held on because at that point I was like, Stefan deserves to be in a relationship if Elena gets to be with Damon, and there was also like an oddly personal investment in the story because I thought Caroline’s realization that she liked Stefan was handled well because in the past I had been the person who fell for her friend and I thought they portrayed that accurately so I was actually kind of rooting for the friend-to-lover trope but they did it poorly from Stefan’s perspective, they forced him (and this is also why now I usually say it’s not about the trope, it’s about how it’s executed)

but still, I held on, and then they were together without humanity and the writing sucked for that as well  and on top of that, they had absolutely no chemistry, it was just awkward as shit and I was like oh no, no, no they don't work outside of friendship

but still, I continued to hold on because I was like maybe something will happen and I'll get back into them, and then something did happen, 6x21 happened, and Elena and Stefan actually had a scene together that didn't seem like they were holding themselves back and I was like .... .... no but Stefan and Elena/Nina and Paul, they're legit magic together, that chemistry just ... shines, it exudes, nothing about them together feels forced or strained or staged, there is just such ease, everything that I feel doesn't work with SC that I've been ignoring, SE has, they just, they just have it

and I kind of forgot that because they hadn't been in a scene together really for most of season 6 and while I was always an SE shipper, I kind of just shut down the gung-ho SEr in me, lmao, even though I thought season 6 was such a bizarrely SE-heavy season but they weren’t committing it but 6x21 was just bringing things out, like my first "big"" post on tumblr was this one

And then 6x22 happened, their goodbye happened and the dialogue spoke to what they meant to each other over the seasons, which could all be backed up in consistent action, I remember when the promo came out and I was going off (this was before I did the whole gif thing, haha)

and then CD and JP were talking about why SE said goodbye where they did which also spoke to how they actually deliver on the significance of SE

To me, Stefan and Elena’s goodbye was the most romantic part of the entire finale and their scenes really harkened back to the purity of the show and the importance of their relationship to Elena’s growth specifically so my first vid in my Stelena marathon speaks to that; speaks to the fact that Stefan changed her life, Stefan made her glad to be alive, Stefan got her to trust herself and be happy and to love again, all of that was Stefan.

and I was like, SC cannot compete with this, but still, I was like, OK, SC isn’t comparable but maybe they don’t have to be, I can at least passively ship them and mildly like them and then season 7 happened and by like episode 3, I was like I am officially, officially done. There is NO chemistry. No writing. Nothing.

Spider-Man Read-Through 023: My Friend... My Foe? (ASM 134-137)

Those issues have everything...

It's all been leading up to this event, folks. Don't worry: I always find a way to make things gay.

Just as last issue (GSSM 1), ASM #134 starts on a boat. It's holidays for Peter, Liz and MJ. Surely nothing can go wrong in those 8 hours! Oh, and Flash is also there, looking as pretty as ever. What about Harry? Oh, he has more important stuff to do :-)

The Tarantula, one of my favorite villains if only for his great design, hijacks the boat with two of his companions.

Underneath his brown jacket, Peter has a green shirt and blue pants that go wonderfully well together. Oh my, you think the shirt's color might be foreshadowing for later, just as Spidey fighting a similarly-patterned foe? Hmm!

A civilian is saved, but Flash is starting to have a few theories, not regarding the suspiciously-absent Jackal or Harry's whereabouts, but rather about Spidey's identity...!

Spidey has no more webs and thus tries to be a good boy and get a cab, but New Yorkers are all acerbate and he ends up resorting to the traditional method. That's comedy we haven't seen before, nice!

So Spidey goes back to his apartment, and what had to happen, happens:

*Did* Harry always suspect that Peter was Spidey? Hmm, I wonder.

Anyway, please note Harry and Peter's shirt is exactly the same color. Is Harry's underwear blue to complete the parallels?

The issue ends with a surprise entrance from the Punisher, surprise because Spidey's been incapacitated by the Tarantula.

In the reader's letters, Harry Daniels thinks the Jackal is actually Harry. I don't know about that one, chief. The team also says the Punisher "will be back soon"... a few pages before he actually appears, hahaha.

Time for issue #135!

The Punisher eventually recognizes Spidey is a good guy, but not before the Tarantula leaves. They plan a meeting, and then Spidey has to go.

Flash has a lot of stuff to ask Spidey, but the latter escapes by water... and comes back as Peter.

All's well that ends well.

Well, almost. See, Harry has a hard time handling how handsome his roommate. Which, understandable. I will point out for all Parksborn shippers that Peter didn't just show his head, no, he pushed the curtain to show his whole body--his whole *naked* body. He's that comfortable with Harry. Now, if that doesn't scream physical intimacy, I don't know what will.

Hide those muscled legs of yours, you slütt.

Speaking of which, here's what Frank Castle wanted to show to our hero: smutty pictures of one Anton Miguel Rodriguez (misspelled as Rodriquez and then Rodriques on the same page). Turns out the Punisher wished to uphold a big tradition in male spaces: stag films.

What were stag films, you ask?

You should check the Wikipedia article about that, but basically, imagine tons of dudes watching e r o t i c movies together in a big room and cheering each other.

I particularly love this part:

So yeah, that's pretty gay, and absolutely fascinating to my eyes. The big question I have, though, is whether there was a female equivalent. I couldn't find one, but I can't imagine that no woman in those times thought about making that kind of film too and/or sharing it to an all female-audience, probably much more discreetly than the above. It's a truly fascinating subject to me. Was this an excuse to infodump lore on you? Maybe. But I'm half-making that joke, because this scene between Spidey and the Punisher is still a bit gay. Yes, I see homosexuality (and or bisexuality) everywhere, you should know this by now.

I'm just saying, the Punisher didn't have to show such hot photos of a revolutionary. It was a choice. Everything is a choice.

They get rid of the Tarantula, all is well that ends well.

Ackchuallly, we're gonna have to wait till--next line! Life in 2023 isn't so bad after all.

Time for the cover that made me buy the 1974 collection at the time!

The issue opens with Peter and MJ on a date and I can't believe that I recognized (visually, not nominally) the place they are. Ross Andru, devs of Insomniac, y'all are incredible.

Also, MJ's outfit is really groovy, love it for her.

Yes, MJ, objectify the fuck out of him!!!!! You go girl!!!!

In fact, she goes so hard that the door and the apartment inside explode.

So Peter and Harry have been in this apartment from #47 to #136. Almost 90 issues!

Please note that Peter's wearing green all over his body.

MJ goes to the hospital, but she's fine. Peter, however, is worried and goes to one of the Goblin's old warehouse. Nothing seems suspicious, after all, everything's covered in dust...

... except that Spidey taught a lot of us that something like that even existed. Smart thinking, tiger!

The wait is long, but eventually, he shows up.

Peter is not amused by the discovery that Harry's been training for this confrontation, whereas he expected his foe to just be an average Joe. It's surprisingly easy to imagine Harry training at the gym and trying to avoid having... unnecessary feelings about his (former) best friend.

Edgeworth knows aaaaall about those.

I think seeing Peter and Harry fight in SM3 fueled my taste in fiction, and those issues confirmed it.

During the fight, Harry rambles about how once Spidey (Peter, really) is dead, he'll finally be able to do his own thing, free to live his own life again, to seek his own glory. Ooh, the daddy issues...!

In the end, Harry escapes and Peter is very worried. He's also a dick to Betty, but who knows, maybe it's part of his master plan...

We start the last issue, #137, the best way possible (after a quick Goblin-related prologue):

Peter eventually returns to the hospital and...

Oh! Those pants. There we are, I guess, huh! This is *the* era. Liz has a great outfit, Flash too, but the real champion here is naturally Robertson, whose suit I'm jealous of. By the way, Peter's not wearing green anymore--at all!

He quickly leaves though when MJ turns on the radio. Neither her or May are really sure what Peter's deal is, but oh well. After 3 years or so, you just get used to it.

Two rows of comedy gold, two!!!

And eventually...

What follows is a great dramatic idea.

This is diabolical. This is excellent. Love it.

And while Harry calls Spidey "Peter" as he gloats, Spidey knocks Harry out... and calls him "Osborn".

Just as Spidey figures out who Harry targeted, his webbing runs off. It's a great obstacle! He uses last issue's McGuffin to get more of it.

When I was a kid, I never understood why Harry had picked May when MJ seemed just as likely a choice. Of course, Flash really wasn't, his love for Spidey is pure adulation. But Harry's doing everything to avenge his father--his blood relative. He gives much more credit to blood than to more subtle relationships, and that's part of why he immediately distrusts Spidey and Peter instead of trying to reconcile his idea of Peter with what actually happened. It's all the more striking because the gang has been shown to support Harry at least as much as Norman, notably when he came back from rehab in #105.

A page that I remembered very well. What a great issue. What a great set of issues. I wonder what's in store next for Harry! I hope he comes back soon.

In the readers' letters, the team says that they slowed down time (obviously) and ask the readers if they'd prefer Peter to finish university.

In the next batch, we get to 1975! Now, as you may recall, I've read a big part of it (the first Clone Saga), but it will be interesting to see maybe one or two new issues for me.

You had an anon mention slow burns and also Luke and Lorelie. Firstly I agree with the messiness of S5a and S6a. I wrote to you a few weeks ago its just messy timelines and I hope if they get S7 they stop this pacing. I don't know alot about the other ships but I believe in Luke and Lorelie supremacy. However..... no joke it was torture watching it real time pre-tumblr.

Listen, it took them 5 seasons to get together. Really only one season of drama free being together. They spent more time married to other people then spent together. We got the pay off in the last 5 minutes of the finale. We won, so yeah. But that shit was torture every week. Tumblr posts would have been a mess back then if it was the same now.

And I bring all this up to get to my point. I sustained it all because I was relatively certain that this straight couple would make it, I was supposed to root for them. They were at the basis each other's rocks. Buck and Eddie still are straight or the very least believe the other is. That's not just angst to get over, that's a sexual identity crisis to get over.

And hopefully like Gilmore Girls they will. One day I can rewatch the same way I do now. Spoiler alert, wanted to cry when she married Chris in Paris, now I can throw popcorn at it and laugh. Just kidding, I still FF that part.

But again, I'm like you I can't promise it will go Canon. If it doesn't its because they are cowards. However in alot of ways there is a stronger case for Buck and Eddie being soul mates rather then Luke and Lorelie. Again I love L&L but still they were messy and heartbreaking to watch.

As for Gilmore Girls, I have to confess that while I’ve seen an ep here or there (I never got to see them in sequence, as you’re meant to, so I never got into the swing of things. I’ve seen enough to know some basic stuff, but not much more than that). So I can’t comment on Luke and Lorelai’s love story beyond the fact that they were OBVIOUS. I could see them coming from the first sec I saw them in a scene together. They were ALWAYS going to happen. The show couldn’t have been clearer about it. And yeah, this is what a slow burn means, if we’re being honest. A lot of torture along the way, because it’s meant to make the pay off at the end that much sweeter. Does it actually manage to do it? The answer varies between ships, and probably between fans of the same ship, too. But that’s the principal, the road is usually bumpy, some parts of it are delicious angst and pining, and screaming about how these bozos still don’t get it, but yeah, some parts of it are not that fun to travel.

My deepest sympathies for going through all of that for Luke and Lorelai! I hear you, and I hope you still got to enjoy at least some of the pay off at the end of it all. I know how you feel. I went through 8 seasons for Keenler (BEWARE! SPOILERS for The Blacklist), and I can count the moments they were actually together on... let’s be generous and say two hands. But stupidly, it works. I treasure the moments that I did get all the more ‘coz I love how long and patiently and without demand Ressler waited for Liz. They had their messiness as well, but God, he loved her so profoundly. To see her realizing that and reciprocating his feelings was beautiful and worth it, even though I will forever wish they had more time together. But to tell you it was fun along the whole way? No. The parts of the story where Liz got back together with Tom were hell, seeing her re-committing herself to him was awful because HE was awful, in general and to Liz (so it wasn’t just as a Keenler shipper that I couldn’t stand that part of the show), and even when he was gone, there were almost two seasons where I survived on essentially one scene of comforting (but seemingly casual and platonic) touch. Slow burn is NOT for the faint of heart.

And you know what I love the most, Nonnie? Is that bit you threw in about Luke and Lorelai still having less in the way of ‘soulmate material’ than Buddie. Because I can actually make a LONG list of CANON couples that I absolutely ADORE that this is true for. And that’s exactly why we keep saying that if Buck or Eddie were a woman, they’d be inevitable, right?

@elenajones23 asked me these questions literally like a month ago but I wanted to do some research to remember some of the anti-m@lex points and then my mom died so anyway I'm answering them now!

(keep in mind I haven't watched any of s4 yet)

Who do you ship Kyle with? Who do you want him to end up with? And why?

.... I've thought about this a lot. I was an enormous Kylex shipper and still love what they could have been if the show had taken things there. (As soon as I find a non-racist, non-white, actually Native actor to fancast as Alex for edits, I'm sure I'd be crazy about them again.)

Aside from them, I think the last ship I liked him in was either Guerenti or kyle/michael/maria (their one episode killed me). I did like kyliz in the beginning, but now I know they share a sibling it's further down the list.

Do you ship Michael & Maria and do you think they still have a shot of being endgame?

GOD YES i ship them. i may love guertecho, but miluca was my first michael ship that cannot be pried from my hands. That being said, no, I don't think they will be endgame. the m@lex stans are too loud and they've already decided to push maria off onto another side character because the cw hates woc.

Agree or disagree? Alex is TOXIC af and his relationship with Michael is TOXIC af. might seem sweet on the surface but it’s actually toxic just like Ross & Rachel.

... the friends reference made me laugh so much. i also don't like ross/rachel, mainly because of Ross, but I do think they're far different than m@lex. (i think liz/max post s2 finale are more rachel/ross honestly, but that's a different conversation)

as for Alex and by extension m@lex being toxic... definitely agree.

to begin with, Alex refuses or perhaps is incapable of seeing the class privilege he has while Michael grows up in poverty. he tells Michael with no compassion that he has to leave the only home he ever had that wasn't abusive or a literal truck. he constantly demeans michael in s1 for doing what he can to survive and brands him as a dirty criminal that's wasting his life. Whenever Alex talks about his trauma, he's always punching down.

he didn't care what was best for Michael consistently. he stole the part of Michael's ship, ignoring the significance. he guilted Maria after he finds out she slept with Michael, knowing that she didn't know, and knowing that she'd push Michael away for him. All when Alex wasn't sure he truly wanted to be with Michael the entire season? After consistently playing hot and cold?

I think one of the worst offenses to me is that after Michael was reunited with the mother he thought was dead who was then killed less than 15 min later, Alex wanted to trauma dump that same night. Without comforting him and then arguing when Michael said he couldn't talk at the moment.

And Michael knows all of this. It's why he chooses Maria in season one. She's the healthier option and someone who can make him happy without the pain that Alex brings via previous trauma. to quote @dylanobrienisbatman when Michael says love is the worst thing that ever happened to me... "sir, you are an abuse victim."
