So I'd gotten recommended this video by a YouTuber known as Huggbees. This video being about an old show that I'd completely forgotten about due to my brain being completely dominated by other shows such as 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Samurai Jack, Ed, Edd and Eddie, Courage the Cowardly Dog and many other kickass tv shows that we all know and love. This show he's talking about being none other than Loonatics Unleashed. I'm gonna be honest I'd completely forgotten about this show, for obvious reasons (TMNT, Animaniacs, other beloveds), but anyways I'm watching this review and I get introduced to two of the main cast. Tech Coyote, and Rev Runner and as soon as I heard Rev talk I'm instantly hit with the trademark feeling. Ya know that feeling. The one that goes-

"I've heard this voice before, I grew up with this voice and had at least several childhood crushes on fictional characters involving said voice."

So I continue to listen and then he starts talking faster cuz he's a roadrunner and I just catch a hint of familiarity in the tone. So here I am agonizing over who this guy is that's playing this character and then my brain clicks it. I go rushing to Google and type in 'Voice actor for Rev Runner' to be sure that my assumption was on the mark.

Well-

I was right. And this is making me question a lot about myself. Mainly that my childhood favorites/infatuations/crushes are so well known to me that I can recognize Rob Paulson's voice almost immediately depending on the tone. I'm both proud of myself as well as ashamed of myself I need to get a hobby shshshshsgsgsh.

Name: Tech Eon Coyote

Age: 22 (season 1) Nationality: American Relatives: Carl (father), Mary (mother).

Personality: Awkward, nervous, logical. Is incredibly intelligent but not socially skilled. Can be snarky at times. Proud of his natural skills. Is in fact a gold-hearted individual under his seemingly antisocial exterior.

Powers/Skills:

Molecular Regeneration: Possesses a healing factor that regenerates his body whenever he's hurt, rendering him nearly indestructible. However, doesn't make him immortal. Above-average Intelligence: Born with an I.Q of 210; combined with his obsession for machines, it allows him to invents many useful gadgets for his team.

Weapons: Vary depending on what can be useful for the mission. Always has something to defend himself on him, which sometimes can surpass a villains' superpowers.

Other info:

Had golden brown eyes before the meteor. Is a high-functioning autist/has Asperger Syndrome. Is vegetarian, which is unusual for a carnivore. Growls, howls, or whines instinctively sometimes. Coffee addict. Can pull an all-nighter if too focused on a task. Considers his inventions as his "babies" and is always heartbroken when they get destroyed.

It's not often you meet someone like Tech. His parents knew right away their son was special. Indeed, not only was he incredibly intelligent for a child his age but it was also confirmed he was on the spectrum. Though he grew up in a loving family, his difference prevented him from socializing well with the other children; he couldn't make friends. For most of his life, it wasn't a problem; the coyote simply focused on his education, aiming to become a renowned inventor.

When entering Acme University, however, he met someone who seemingly understood his struggles and they became fast friends. It came to a point Tech was almost dependant on them, confusing his feelings for love, not understanding he was being manipulated. in 2771, during the annual science forum, their "friend" betrayed his trust, using their inventions for their own evil, selfish deeds. Tech was able to stop their plans just in time, but the event left him deeply wounded and traumatized; he swore off the friendship, preferring a solitary life than the risk of being backstabbed once again.

On June 12, 2772, Tech's life took a new turn as he joined the Loonatics, becoming their primary inventor. Thrown of his routines, Tech took more time to adjust to his new surroundings and is still struggling even today. It's not easy living with so many people in one tower, and he's not sure if he wants to be more than a teammate.

Loonatics Unleashed is so cheesy and silly and stupendously 2000s action cartoon to the point it's taking me back to watching stuff like Teen Titans and Road Rovers and Totally Spies because it's just!! So!!! Fun!!!! Like the nostalgia value is high

Aunque mi personaje favorito de la infancia es Bugs bunny al igual que el culpable de mi favoritismo a los conejos y fascinación por personajes con aspecto inofensivo que resultan ser unos monstruos totales que no utilizan la fuerza, sino la mente para jugar con el enemigo). Daffy Duck hoy en día se ha ganado mi corazón como mi favorito oficial por que fue él quién me hizo ver lo dinámicos, complejos e increíblemente adictivos que pueden llegar a ser los Looney Tunes y despertó un gran respeto hacia sus creadores, dibujantes y escritores. Gracias a que comencé a interesarme en cómo funciona la mentalidad y psicología de este personaje que puedo decir fácilmente, es la personificación del caos.

Daffy puede ser un héroe o un villano, puede apuñalar a su aliado por la espalda al igual que hablarle a un enemigo como si fuera un buen amigo de la infancia. Romper toda regla existente, ya sea de lógica, natural e incluso las propias reglas de universo Looney Tune. Él prácticamente nació rompiendo las reglas de la animación y conceptos en las caricaturas en su época.

Y eso es solo hablando de cosas superficiales y técnicas, si me pongo a hablar del plano psicológico está publicación será más larga de lo que ya es.

En conclusión, simplemente amo a este desgraciado pato

Estoy orgullosa de que Daffy en realidad no ha cambiado nada en el pasar de los años, aunque es una opinión algo debatible, él siempre me hizo reír con sus principales características, que son su brusquedad, el no pensar antes de actuar, hacer exactamente lo opuesto a lo que se debería hacer, y que le pasa de todo pero eso nunca lo detiene de cumplir su objetivo ya sea un objetivo malo o bueno. Al mismo que no importa cuanto sufra por la consecuencia de sus actos, su orgullo es mucho más grande y duro de romper.

I always find it funny when people talk about ‘Loonatics Unleashed’ as is it was this “Super edgy dark ‘Looney Tunes’ reboot” when like

THIS!?!?? It was as edgy as ‘Kim Possible’! The first episode remade the “Duck Season! Rabbit Season!” Bit. It just dressed it all up in that 2000s Cartoon Network edge

Does anyone else get unreasonably irritated when continuously-rebooted media franchises regurgitate the same criticisms and negative opinions people have about certain characters (Scrappy Doo, Princess Elise, Loonatics Unleashed, etc.) instead of letting crews try and do something new and legitimately thoughtful with them

If you were in charge of rebooting Loonatics Unleashed, how would you write it?

Dude it'd be so gay you don't even know.

Tech and Rev would definitely be a couple by the end of it, that's just step one. Either tech and Rev or Rev and Ace, or a weird love triangle, sorry I'm a simple girl with simple needs.

But actually;

I'd probably give it a slightly softer animation style? Definitely not 3D, but not as pointy as the current animation style. With mild character redesigns just so that they're a little more interesting visually.

As for the story, I would definitely give it an overarching plot with an actual big bad to mix in the with villain of the week feel that it originally had. And most importantly, I would delve way more into their backstories than the original did. They'd each get at least one episode focusing on where they came from.

Duck and Tech's backgrounds would also be a lot more dramatic if I was writing them. Duck's definitely would be played less for laughs.

Also I think I would make Rev's parents villains. I think they have the most potential for it being tech CEO's, and I think it could do some good with Rev's character since he's Definity one that got the least amount of attention.

And I would have to find something to do with Slam's character or I'd just have to remove him in general and maybe turn Lexi more into the muscles character since I found her brain blast was kind of similar to Ace's heat vision most of the time. Also Ace might get new powers too since his are kind of like, really boring for being the leader.

Yeah, there would be a few changes to mostly characters, and then giving it just a more together story. I think it had potential, and I think it's biggest fault was being a product of the early 2000's. I could keep going, but I won't unless someone asks more about it lol.

I'm curious about redraws/recreates of characters. Like Dawn is sort of a reboot/recreate of Doris of sorts. For lack of better way of saying it, a new version of Doris running around even though she is a person of her own right. But like, with Mickey and Minnie, there are SO MANY versions of those two out there in media. The day at Disney with the throat punch seems to suggest that Mickey was specifically Steamboat Willie, not the other Mickeys. Seems to strike me sad if there are multiple versions and like, they see the Cratchet version and their child Tiny Tim Cratchet out and about while the rest aren't allowed... and oddly seems also a very Di$ney thing to do.

There's always been one Mickey. Though there was that weird moment in the early days of Termite Terrace studios where they made a few familiar looking mice to torture on screen. But disney toons rarely have multiples. It's a cost cutting thing. So like an actor who puts on layers of makeup each day for a role, a toon can go through multiple changes in a day to film different things. It's all according to their contract. You have to look however the copyright holder wants. The footage of steam boat Willie is now out there for everyone to use. And new mice characters will come from it. And as to how Mickey is dealing with the idea of anyone making a new version of his younger self? I'm not sure. Disney keeps their characters and their lives very private.

So when do multiple characters get made? Usually it's when someone has a separate ownership of a toon. Or sells rights of an image to be made in another country (like powerpuff girls z). Or when someone wants to take a character into an extreme direction while keeping the original going and not having any identity issues (like loonatics unleashes). I was fortunate enough to be an independent character. My studio contract ran out years ago and the school I was drawn in didn't place a copyright ownership on me because i was just a graduate film trst. Not important after graduation. I was able to roam free. Really unheard of now.

On Mickey and Minnie running into the toon who played Tiny Tim. He does! All the time. Tiny Tim was played by one of his nephews. Felicity Mouse's kids. They've appeared in a few of his cartoons.
