In a time line where Malon doesn't exist, imagine the reader having almost an identical mask to Time. It turns out that the deities in both of their masks are married. So as they grow closer, both deities coax them. ♡. They just knew the pair was fated to be.

That's why Time ended up with the Fierces mask and the reader ended up with their deity mask.

The Chain is always talking about and theorizing. No one knows that both deities are married except for themselves. Fierce refuses to answer Time on the matter. However, he always has a smirk on his face when it's mentioned.

LU Fic Request/Idea: Twilight is younger than Sky

I'm not good at writing stories but have many head canons and ideas so feel free to use this blurb of information if you want. This is my first time doing a fic request so sorry for the info dumping.

I have a head canon that Twilight is actually younger than Sky and is closer in age to Four who is older than he looks. That's why if Twilight isn't hanging out with Wild he gravitates to Four because they are close in age.

A fic where Sky looks up to Twilight as an older brother then finds out that he is actually younger somehow would be fun. The rest of the chain gets involved and everyone is surprised that Twilight is only 20. The only one not surprised is Four, who proceeds to tell them he knew Twilight was around his age. They all get surprised again (except for Twilight) at the information that Four is 19. The chain then decides to discuss the rest of their ages. Bonus ideas: Wild being out raged that Twilight is only 3 years older than him (mentally) and Legend finding out he's younger than Hyrule.

Ages would be Time as the eldest then, Warriors at 24, Sky at 23, Twilight at 20, Four at 19, Hyrule at 18, Legend and Wild, 17 (or 117), and wind at 14.

This is just my thoughts behind the ages:

Twilight is seen as older because of the way he grew up. He grew up as the "older brother" of all the kids in Ordon as they are all significantly younger then Twilight. Then he met the resistance who are all at least 4 years older than him and at the time he was "the hero" so he acted as a peer to them. In conclusion Twilight is accustomed to acting older. Sky is the golden child of Skyloft and grew up with lots of guys his age. So he acts more jovial. Not to say Sky isn't mature he just seems younger than Twilight because of these facts.

Four is aloof and level headed in all the fics I read so I just think of him as around 19. Plus I love him being best friends with Twilight. They bond over shadows, books, and their introverted natures. Their personalities just vibe.

Legend and Hyrule because I like the dynamic of Legend being younger but more jaded and experienced.

I don't have any reasons for the others except for being the ages the fandom usually puts them as.

isn’t it interesting that there’s Jojo’s LinkedUniverse and then also the LinkedUniverse fandom’s LinkedUniverse? That LU became a conduit through which to examine and compare and contrast Zelda games with this cast of characters as a base? That was their original intention and the fans went “heck yeah!” and ran with it? The LinkedUniverse fandom’s LinkedUniverse is a monster of the week story where everyone contributes, it has hundreds of authors and storytellers all working together and trading tales. It’s a scenario in which Jojo’s LinkedUniverse is both the source material and also just one instance in the larger weave. And the LinkedUniverse fandom’s LinkedUniverse lore deviates from (and is much deeper than imo) that of the original comic mainly because of that 1 person building a thing vs hundreds of people building a thing. And isn’t that so cool? But then also with the decline of the fandom I dunno I feel like the LinkedUniverse fandom’s LinkedUniverse has been dying. Updates would spawn a burst of creativity and multitudes of branching ideas and what-if scenarios explored through art and fic and discussion, building on it, adding it in to pre-existing stories. I feel that activity around updates has been ticking more towards exploring the comic within the context of the comic itself (or just reposting clips), and less within the fandom’s takes on it (not taking that step forward of “yes, and,” and “yes-anding” fanworks as well.) Or not updates in particular, but the state of the fandom is deviating from taking this base and running and sharing to something more controlled and wary? Isolated? The LinkedUniverse fandom is a phenomenon to me. And it’s not something I think should be replicated in regards to other LinkVerse comics but it’s also something beautiful and creative? Like, Jojo to a certain extent has or had lost control of the fandom’s versions of these characters. She made them and we respect her wishes for them but they no longer belong to her? The LU fandom’s LU is a collectively written LinkVerse and exploration of the loz games, using these characters and relationships as a base (which is why I think people mistag by accident so much.) Sure, you could use the characters directly from the games or make your own LinkVerse to explore the relationships between the loz games. However, within the context of the LU fandom, you get the advantage of the template already being there for the character’s personalities, meeting, secrets, and an open ended goal, and these things are understood by a large number of invested people, leading to this huge collaborative project. This is what’s so special about the LinkedUniverse fandom to me. Watching this thing be built and getting to be a contributing piece of it. Maybe it shouldn’t have happened. Like, if something like that were to happen to anything I’ve made I think that’d be really scary. But it’s also something incredible? It’s why I have a hard time accepting it when people say they hate the LU fandom. How could you hate the creativity? The shared stories? What’s been made? Isn’t it incredible? It’s another LinkVerse, in a way, one that belongs to many. I'm frustrated by the instances where people have tried to police the way the characters are written, both within the fandom and towards Jojo’s comic, and the issues in communication, and callout posts asjhfksdf Problems in reconciling the LU fandom’s LU, Jojo’s LU, other LinkVerses, and gen loz. But the phenomenon of the fandom itself, the shared collaborative LU fandom’s LinkedUniverse? I think it’s such a cool thing. I think it’s such a cool way to explore and examine the loz games and craft stories with so many other people. I really enjoy all the LinkVerses that are around now. I don’t think the fandom for LU is something that can be replicated. (or should?) (it’s both something odd and a loss of control for Jojo but also a conduit for an incredible amount of creativity and community.) It’s really interesting to me. It’s really interesting to witness. Or to have witnessed?

What I love about the fandom is seeing ideas and headcanons and art and fic be shared and then built upon. The community projects! The LU Zine. The valentine's day cards! The artist and writer appreciation projects! The weekly polls and prompts from the main LU server! The master door post! Long haired Sky! Tick-tac-toe on Hyrule's forehead! Crop top Roolie! Cheer up buttercup! Seeing small headcanons being adopted into fanon lore and being able to watch that progression. Seeing these tropes develop and being a contributing part of it! It's something we're building together and watching that happen in real time is so special! Again, it's that 1 person building a thing vs hundreds of people building a thing that is so alluring to me.

The creators, and analysis folks, and people who leave comments and nice tags: I see you as my peers! I want to create with you! I'd love to participate in collabs and trades! I haven't been able to be involved as much as I want because of a lack of spoons. But, I admire so many of the people here. Thank you all so much for sharing what you've made! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of it! Thank you for supporting me and my silly ideas for these characters! My art is a conversation and I approach what the LU fandom's made in the same way. It's not content to be consumed. It's an open hand. I'm so grateful to those who have taken it. You've inspired me to create. It's the greatest honor if I'm able to do the same for you. I want to keep making things with you guys.

Unofficial LU Fanzine: call for mods!

Hey everyone! The interest check (at this post) was a success—we got a whole 78 responses, which is actually way more than I expected! However, that IS more people than I can handle on my own, and from my experience, making decisions for stuff like this is easier with a small group of people with an aligned vision.

So, before we announce any final themes, specs, or timelines, I would like to gather a small team to work with on this! I have three main requirements: 18+, comfortable using discord, and trustworthy through the project's duration (likely about 1 year). Previous experience with zines/fan events, and familiarity with the fandom, is a plus but not a requirement. I've come up with a list of roles that I'd need help filling and a tentative scope of time, which you can find after the cut, along with the link to the form.

Please apply if you're interested! The more mods we have, the more contributors we can have, too, and the better this project will be. :)

This form is open until Wednesday, May 15th, 2024.

My Core Vision:

I want to put together a Linked Universe-themed physical book that contains passionate examples of art and writing and other crafts from the community, along with a PDF version of the same, all offered at a price designed to reach as many people as possible and potentially donate to a charity. The intention is to have preorders open in late 2024 or early 2025.

Roles I need filled:

Social presence/marketing manager (Will put together posts, graphics, tags, and schedule.)

Finances manager (I'm a bit lost on this.)

People manager (To help send emails and manage customer service issues.)

Group mom/creative partner (To fill in the gaps we find, and help me make some decisions.)

Process:

You send in your answer to the form. This form will accept responses until May 15, 2024, about two weeks.

I'll review responses and reach out to everyone who responded with either an acceptance or rejection. There's no specific rubric for this, I admit. I will look at concrete qualifications and try to pick people who work well together and with me. :)

I'll ask for an acceptance response from those I want to gather!

We gather in a discord server! My plan is to have a list of things to discuss and decide professionally, but hopefully friendly too.

Using the power of teamwork, we come up with details for the rest of the zine and announce it formally!

I do ask for a bit of personal information on this form (if you're over 18, time zone, etc.) All of the information here will stay private. I am not associated with any official LU channels. I am not in the discord server. You can DM me with more specific questions or concerns. :)

"I don't know, Lils..." Remus went on, still anxiously ruminating on the topic that had been plaguing him for weeks. "It's different with blokes. They're not always as...accepting."

Lily rolled her eyes. "If your roommate can't handle the fact that you're queer, I'll fucking punch him in the throat."

Remus chuckled at this, shifting the box he was holding. Moving into Uni was certainly not fun, and he silently noted to himself that he owed Lily his life for helping. "I shouldn't've picked to have a random roommate, I should've-"

"Remus, we all know you're as anti-social as they come," Lily panted, slowly ascending the stairs to Remus's floor with the laundry basket in her arms. "You would never go to a 'Roommate Social."

Remus laughed and exited the stairwell. "Fair. Here it is- 1103! Looks like he's already-"

But he broke off, and both he and Lily stared into the small room, mouths agape.

Inside, half the room was covered in posters and stuff, with a giant pride flag stretched across the far wall. The man who could only be Remus's roommate was stretched across the bed, leather jacket hugging his lithe body and ripped jeans low on his hips, headphones messing up his stunning wavy black hair, eyes closed and foot tapping.

"I...don't think he'll be unaccepting..." Lily muttered, smirking.

But Remus realized quickly that the problem wouldn't be his roommate not accepting him.

The problem was that his roommate- his gay roommate- was fucking hot.

I want. Four to get appreciation. Because

Four gave a ton of unnoticed help when Twilight was injured

The fight with Wild was difficult, and I know we're all concerned about his negative view of the shadow crystal

But Four did something that no one else really thought of to help- He took care of Twi's stuff

From the beginning he told Twilight to not worry about them

So Four took care of pretty much everything but the others (that Sky and Wars handled)

He took care of Epona

Which is so very important- he took care of Twilight's horse. After her arrival at the stable Four followed up on her

And for Epona, a horse so attached to her human, having some company can help so much for reassurance

He took care of Twilight's stuff

He got Twi's shield- his bags and equipment, and organized it into one place

And he was worried. He obviously found the shadow crystal while handling Twi's stuff, but his negative reactions to it were out of concern.

Also- because of his placement in this scene

I'm fairly convinced Four was ready to start cooking before Wild showed up (since he's beside the counter with food supplies). At the very least he had the basket of fruit out for everyone -but he was literally standing with food behind him- he thought of everything

And he did housekeeping!

Wars payed for the inn, so Four took care of the inn

Realistically these boys were probably not too concerned with tidyness. Four got all of Twi's things on one table, and took care of the room they stayed in

Organizing tables and Twi's things, having food supplies ready, and opening the curtains- overall he was the one tidying up the inn

Four helped in a huge way! He took care of Twi's horse (Epona is so important), his equipment and shield and bag, as well as the other rooms in the inn

Four filled in all the little tasks that others didn't think of. He helped in ways that were needed, but not obvious

There's a lot of problems with the shadow crystal and with Wild, and I don't know what's gonna happen in the future

But don't forget this- don't forget that Four was one who stepped up in an almost unnoticeable way

Don't forget that when everyone was barely holding it together, Four visited Twilight's horse and took care of his things

No matter what develops in the future- this amount of care shown is important ya know?
