Emma and Daniel did not belong together.
After extensively rewatching Every Witch Way during Spring Break (yep, that's how I spent Spring Break), I went through tumblr and saw people wondering if this fandom still exists. Well, even if there's only like fifteen people on it, let's discuss Emma and one of her main love interests: Daniel.
I would like to disclose that I am a Jemma fan, after Jax showed up in S2, Daniel went out the window for little thirteen-year-old me. This isn't a Daniel VS Jax post, this is just about Emma and Daniel's relationship. This post will mainly reflect on why I think that, in the long run, they did not belong together. They're definitely a first loves ship, but not an endgame ship.
In S1 both were still young and finding their footing, but mainly Emma. Daniel had already dated Maddie for a while and then went through the whole first season flirting and liking Emma after his break up with Maddie. Daniel was also on top of his game, being the Sharks Swim Captain, and other than Maddie being his girlfriend, his life was happy and fine. Emma coming in merely improved it, she was nicer, thoughtful, and down to earth. But Emma's story was just beginning, she was discovering being a witch, having to deal with her powers, a witch bully Maddie at school, and daily shenanigans that entailed the magical world. Daniel is the last person to discover Emma is a witch and he also has the worst reaction to it. Not that surprising considering how regular his life has been, but that kind of tells us where this was headed.
In S2 Emma and Daniel have been together for months now, all through the summer. The thing is, Daniel's been happier than ever and he thinks Emma's powers never came back, something that she's been hiding from him this entire time. Lying to your SO is never a good thing, especially about something this big, something that is literally part of you. There are reasons for both of them however:
Emma knew how happy Daniel was that she was 'regular' and didn't want to ruin what they had by bringing in all her witch stuff, which tended to bring all sorts of chaos and antics.
Daniel didn't want Emma to have powers out of fear that other evil witches would come after her because she was the Chosen One.
While these are reasonable explanations for both of them, they're not fixing any of their real issues. Emma should not be lying to her boyfriend, eventually, it did catch up to her and she tried using magic to make him forget. Also not a good thing, even if she wanted a 'redo' at telling him. When he does find out, it causes their downfall. The thing is, Emma lied because Daniel just can't handle her being a witch. He's said that her powers being back would "ruin everything" and has shown a fear of witches when magic was brought up in S2E05. Emma keeps telling him that powers or no powers, she's still a witch. Still, she chose to hide a part of herself to try to have a normal relationship with her boyfriend. But hiding a part of yourself is never the answer and it eats away at you.
S2 also explores the fact that witches can't date humans, it's not allowed. The Council tries to have Emma break up with him otherwise they must take the witches magic away, but Emma being the Chosen One is a special case. Her magic removal is not on the table and she wants to keep her powers regardless. (I mean I agree with Emma, let the girl date whoever she wants) But it is another thing that drives them further apart, unfortunately, the Council ended up being right, most humans just can't handle the magical world. (Andi can handle it, so can Katie and Sophie, but Daniel can't.)
When it comes to the Fool Moon, it has a different effect on all sorts of witches. Jax's greed and envy magnify, Desdemona turns vindictive and wants Emma's powers, and Emma's impulse control is gone. This leads to Emma casting spells without really thinking about the consequences and out in the open. The Fool Moon is just a witch or wizard's desires coming to the surface. In retrospect, Maddie was just as affected, she started improving (slightly, but still progress) and didn't run from her feelings toward Diego. She was more open and entered a relationship with him.
We also see Emma's clones in this season. Her first clone, E, encompasses her dark side with none of the good. She calls Daniel dull, she's bored with him and his ideas for dates, and she finds Jax fun and wants to do magic whenever she wants. She's happy when Daniel breaks up with Emma because 1. She found him boring and 2. They get to keep their powers now and the Council can stop hounding them. This may be Emma's darkest side but it's still Emma. Some part of her does believe that Daniel is dull and finds Jax fun. Granted, her third clone, the Nerdy Emma is all about Daniel. This is why the clone spell is so very illegal, a witch is essentially pulling out a part of themselves and without the rest to balance it, they become a paragon of just one emotion or drive or aspect of their original personality. They're not whole. The Real Emma shares all these traits inside herself, she does like Daniel, she does find him dull sometimes, she does like math, she does find it boring at times, and she does like Jax but she does think he goes overboard sometimes.
See, this is where we come into an important piece of dialogue in S2 E16 between Maddie and Daniel talking about their romantic troubles.
Maddie: But if you two were still together, you'd want her to stop using her powers? Daniel: Maybe. Maddie: Then you don't accept Emma for who she is. And as a fellow witch, I'm offended for her!
This is an interesting moment in which someone like Maddie, someone who doesn't like Emma but is a witch just like her, sees that while Emma lied to Daniel, she did it because Daniel doesn't accept her as who she is.
Daniel has openly expressed anger and disinterest at the magic world. And hey, I understand, after all the spells Jax has cast on him to make him look bad in front of Emma's dad, or just the usual magic hijinks from Emma or Maddie, magic is not Daniel's friend. He doesn't find it fun or cool like Andi, he's not desensitized to it like Katie and Sophie. He's suffered from it and doesn't want anything to do with it and hey I can respect that. But this isn't good when you're in a relationship with a witch, the most powerful one in fact. So he's tiptoeing a line constantly between wanting to be with his girlfriend but disliking and fearing something that's part of her (and part of his friends' lives: Maddie and Diego).
Let's get to S3 when he was marked by Mia with her Kanay spider. Spider!Daniel broke up with Emma, started dating Mia, was a general jerk at school, even tied up his little siblings. It turns out that Mia's Spider doesn't cause him to act strange or evil, it just unleashes someone's 'inner wild'. It makes them do what they most want to do. So, Daniel did want to break up with Emma. He called Emma and Maddie trouble-brewing witches and had no problem telling a complete stranger all about their powers.
Now we could get into how Daniel's life was turned upside down more than plenty of times because of magic, but nothing beats S4 when Emma literally rewrites time when Daniel disappears. He and his family end up running an animal sanctuary and dating Mia. Then his life gets put back and it's for the worse because now he has no animals, no girlfriend, and he's back in a school hated by the principal. Overall, Daniel was not having a good time in S4. One of the many reasons why Emma puts him back where he was happy. (I would also like to remind everyone that Mia and her previously deceased parents were alive in the new accidental timeline of S4. I believe that Emma also was the cause of this, not only did she unintentionally give Daniel a better life but the same to Mia. And then she restored that life at the end of the season.)
In conclusion, Jemma forever.
But really, I hope someone reads this and enjoys or sees the situation from both sides and how they weren't really a good couple. Kind of doomed in the end when you think about it. I mean the girl loves butterflies and he's allergic to butterflies. I don't think the writers were subtle with that one, huh.

Re watching the pilot again (I’ve lost count what I’m on after 3 years) and I’m sorry the writers are point blank lying about jiara. This was such a good set up for jiara like are you kidding me?!
“What was that all about” I dunno, but I liked it, a lot” *stutters speech after cos boy is flustered*
DOORS LOCKED COS I TRIED IT.
How many jealous looks?!
Like come pates.
Oh how I wish pope and kie never happened that kiss was just not needed and season 2 moment we don’t speak about. Prefer to erase that from my brain please and thank you.
Yeah everytime I rewatch the pilot I'm baffled they weren't setting up Jiara, like all their interactions reek of endgame setup it's insane. But then knowing their plans were to set up pokie dvfclnvflsdn i have to laugh. They really had no idea what they were doing huh. To be fair, half the appeal is Maddie and Rudy's natural chemistry, but still. They had a chemistry read, and then they were on set, the pates/writers had to have seen it????
But then again the Pates recently said the s1 hot tub scene had ship implications for jiara, so you don't know what else they will own up to with enough time.

S6 BUDDIE THOUGHTS
I’m doing my yearly rewatch and I really refuse to believe that buddie wasn’t written the way they were intentionally. I’ve talked about the way they introduced buddie before. there were a lot of hints of early romance undertones. for example, the fact that abbys character got split into two separate ones. maddie and eddie. there were certain scenes where it seemed implied at a little peak into what they had in mind for their relationship. for example, buck just having to mention he loves kids when eddie said he has one, “we may end up real close”, “you two have an adorable son.” but that’s besides the point I’m trying to make. we’ve heard time and time again from tim minear and the crew that they write the story the way they want to and don’t give into fan service. but let’s face it, if you’ve been in this fandom long enough you know Tim’s been accused of stealing ideas from fanfics and posts on twt. which that is in fact fan service. (There’s nothing wrong with giving ur fans what they want tim. genuinely fan service isn’t bad unless you completely lose ur own originality and you haven’t like its still 911.) for example, we’ve been asking for less stressful storylines and now they’re delivering. also henren begins is happening solely bc fans have been begging for it. and one of the main things people have been asking for since I joined this fandom two almost 3 years ago is buddie slowburn. I genuinely am a strong believer that this is going to be the season it all comes to it. They threw buck and eddie into these relationships not because they were gonna be endgame. They were too hastily written for that and we know 911 can write good relationships. It was just to keep the slowburn going a bit longer. And you know what? If im right and this really is the season where we finally get it, then it’s been a beautiful love story. definitely would be #1 on my list and stydia has held that title in my heart for a literal decade at this point. Like they’re not dumb and I feel like this has all been intentional. I don’t see these writers as the type to disappoint their fans like that. I truly believe that Buck and Eddie were always meant to be together, or at least it’s been a heavy consideration for a very long time. With all of the ryan and oliver promotions and Oliver following Ryan again along with him liking buddie posts again. I’m very confident that the wait is over. And I can’t see it tilting out of our favor this season. usually I just ship it for fun and have moments where I know it’s not going to happen but I just feel so confident in this season buddie wise. If I’m wrong then we were played but I don’t think I am.

morning writing
Finally putting my nose to the grindstone to get this done. I am never writing rom-com again. Have an early snippet
Title: Sleepless in LA, from chapter 9: Holiday Blues
Fandom: 911
Pairing: endgame Buddie as always
Tags/warnings: first draft.  Chapter Isn’t done yet but hopefully this weekend.
Tumblr media
“Buckaroo,” Hen asked as she gave him a cup of coffee, “What’s got your head stuck in a fog today?”
“Nothing,” he deflects, taking the coffee and giving her a nod of thanks. “Just need some coffee.”
Hen looks unimpressed. “You are the most morning person I know.”
He straightens and puts on his best smile for her, touched by her concern. “I’m good. Just had a late night.”
“Maddie, have you watching movies again? What was it this time?”
“We rewatched an old favorite. An Affair to Remember.”
“I know that one,” Hen says fondly. “Karen always cries when Nicky’s waiting for Terry, and she doesn’t show.”
“Me too. Every time.”
They both retreat into their coffee, enjoying the brief quiet moment before their day ramps up. It’s a week until Thanksgiving, and it’s their year to work the holiday. “You and Karen celebrating on the weekend?” He asks, making conversation.
“Mmhmm. My mom’s coming.”
“Oh boy,” Buck gulps. He’s aware that none of the 118 families seem to have normal relationships with their parents except maybe Bobby.
“Karen’s already started on the meal prep. She’s making the pies from scratch this year. JPL’s got a contest going, and she’s competitive.”
“What kind is she making?”
“Three different kinds of apple. By the end of this, I might never want to see another apple or smell cinnamon again.”
“No classic pumpkin?” He teases.
Hen glares at him over her glasses. “Don’t suggest she join that category too.”
“They have categories?”
“They’re scientists! Of course, they have categories!”
“Do they allow outside competition?” Bobby interrupts, looking intrigued by the idea of a best pie contest.

I see a lot of people really freaked out by the chance that Lucy could become endgame for Buck, if the actress gets confirmed again for season 6. Apart from the fact that she could be in s6 and then end up just like Ana....apart that Buck could break with Taylor and still not get with Eddie first because his journey is different and maybe he needs another messy r/s before figuring out what he wants for himself (but I hope not)....apart from the fact that THERE CAN BE male/female friendships without need for romance or sex and I hope this time Buck gets a real female friend apart from Mom Hen...It seems to me that Lucy, even more so in this latest episode, is the outsider looking in, the stranger who gets to see the 118, a tiny part of the 118, which no one fully understand in their mutual codependency even inside the same firehouse. I think Lucy is all of us, trying to understand what she's witnessing firsthand, but failing to grasp the depth of it. And those who fear her to be Buck's next LI, maybe are missing some key point: I obviously wish I'm not jinxing myself now, but yeah, interviews MUST lie, otherwise where would be the spoiler? and if a writer is good, like the 911's are, they MUST throw in some red herring for us to believe she is endgame because they kissed and because she's another pretty female and because she's a reckless firefighter so they share a lot, and even if they act more like siblings and not like, let's say, the first Bathena or the first Madney, they are m/f so there is a potential....OMG, we are thinking exactly like TAYLOR KELLY???
Sorry not sorry.
Kiki!!!
I totally agree with everything you've said. The more I think about it and the more I rewatch the more convinced I become that Lucys story is about finding a family - a place to belong. Because ultimately that is what this season has been about - identity and family. Every single one of our mains has been dealing with the idea of who they are as a person some have been much louder arcs in relation to that theme such as Eddie and Maddie, while others have been quieter - Hen for example figured out that she is going to specialise in general surgery and her vow renewal with Karen is about their identity as a married couple. We have also seen all of our mains connecting with their families - facing struggles but ultimately re-enforcing bonds and growing closer after having been forced apart by circumstances - this also applies to the firefam as a whole as well - they have been separated, but they are coming back together and will be all the stronger for it.
When we think about all of the Lucy scenes - especially the big ones they have all been either about work or about family and identity - the one exception was the kiss scene it is literally the exception that proves the rule! the bar scene up to that point had been about work and a bit of family stuff - we find out that Lucy is a firefighter in a family of cops - that she is the black sheep. the only other time we have seen her out of work has been when she met up with Jonah and that scene was all about fitting in and wanting to be part of the 118 family.
As for the writers and show runners - of course they will throw in a few red herrings - the kiss was kind of one - it had its purpose - to create a reason for Taylor to get jealous - I wrote another answer to an ask which goes into more detail here - and they are not going to give away Buddie in interviews - its too important - so they will more or less straight up lie to ensure it is kept under wraps because Buddie will be a groundbreaking relationship when it goes canon - the queer community have never been given this epic slow burn love story where two guys in their 30's fall in love with each other and discover their sexuality - this is the kind of thing that will potentially become part of the study of queer representation in film and tv in future because it is that groundbreaking!
I had other stuff written but the excitement over wedding suits crashed my computer so I lost a bit of my reply (grrr) but this is the most important stuff!!
Kiki I hope this is what you were after and that the other post fills in the stuff I haven't gone into here! I love having you in my inbox with your long asks!!! 💜💜💜

Kind of weird but I truly focused on Anna and Eddie more then Buck and Taylor becuase I figured if there was an end game it was gonna be them. But now rewatching and focusing a little more on them its funny because they did the exact opposite with Buck then with Eddie and it feels intentional.
We never saw a passionate sexual side to Eddie and Anna but from the beginning that really was Buck and Taylor. If there was never a Eddie and Christopher, B&T are a couple I would ship if they gave her more development. Like not gonna lie I totally swooned a little when he picked her up in the bathroom stall. Like big men short women, come on lol. We see them in bed, her in lingerie, sharing work outs. The physical side is heavily implied if you will.
So I guess my point is they brought on carbon copies of women that were supposed to fill out the identity of them if they were straight males. Luckily I don't see them dragging this B&T out. There just isnt time especially with Maddie finally coming home. Hopefully we go straight from there to Buddie angst.
Hi Nonnie! Thank you for the ask!
Oh, that's funny, I was the exact opposite. When Ana was introduced in 312, and her introduction was so over the top "Isn't this just fate, her guessing correctly what 'Eddie' stands for? Do you see how smitten Eddie is that he became a bumbling idiot?" I worried some, but then when I saw that the show was fully uninterested in her (no follow up in 313 even though that ep did have romantic themes that could have been the perfect moment to bring Ana up, and giving her half a line in 315 and then nada for the rest of s3), even when she came back, I wasn't that concerned, because the show never bothered developing her or investing in her character.
Taylor, on the other hand, it felt like the show tried with her a bit more. They took a character from s2 who already had a strong character established, they brought her in and didn't rush to have Buck and her dating, instead they had a few eps of them just being friends, so relative to Ana, the show did invest in Taylor more. But... still not enough for me to think she can be Buck's endgame. Yeah, they gave her more time and a bit more of a background, but it all feels a bit half-assed. Like in s4, where she initially rejects Buck in 412, but we never learn why, nor are we shown in 414 a reason why she would stop worrying about whatever it was that made her initially friendzone him... "I worried about you while you were in danger" is not enough, because it doesn't explain why she turned him down in the first place. And then during all of 5a, so many of the B/T scenes are awkward, just like A/E's were in s4 and the start of s5, or even actively pointing to something being wrong (I have never seen a character looking more pained or less enthusiastic to say "I love you" for the first time... TBH, technically speaking, Buck still didn't say those exact words, he half-assed it with "Good... *weirded out expression* Love you, too"). Even the episode dedicated in part to her backstory was half-assed (so much of it was "tell" instead of "show"), that I still feel like she's not Buck's endgame and can't be with this little investment from the show. BUT I do think it's still more investment than the show has ever given Ana, so that's why, if I did worry, I would about Taylor, not Ana.
And I hear you! I'm personally a monoshipper, once I have my heart set on a couple because I feel like they make each other better and can make each other happier than anyone else could, and by the time Taylor was first introduced in 206, I was already locked on Buddie. If you look at my s2 meta, you can see why I felt that even early s2 already did a lot to cement them as the people who are right for each other. But I get you, if Buddie weren't so perfect for each other, then yes, on paper, Ana and Taylor are what they would want. Ana with her background as a school teacher that Chris loves and with her common heritage with them, and Taylor with her independent, take-no-nonsense streak, they would seem like what these men need. And yet, Buck and Eddie ARE there for each other, Buck loving Chris with his whole heart and being the kind of person you know would be so respectful of his Diaz boys' background, and Eddie being the person who tells Buck things like they are, not coddling him, but also doing it with so much fondness and support, they end up giving each other everything these female LI's on paper would have, but then they give each other even more than that! They tease and they support and they get each other and are in awe of each other like no one else ever could fill those shoes.
Thank you for this, Nonnie! Hope you don't mind the length, I got a bit emotional! Have a great day! xoxox
And if you or anyone else is looking for my other ask replies, you can find them using my ask tag. xoxox

I am so obsessed with this show, I swear I just keep finding stuff to talk about every time I rewatch a scene or have some thoughts. This stuff is just so wild.
More on the subtle Eddie and Buck parallels:
Margaret and Helena are the driving forces while Phillip and Ramon are the enforcers so to speak; Margaret and Helena are the ones that say some truly unforgivable crap: "I don't know what you expected us to do" & "Don't drag him down with you, Eddie" -> both Eddie and Buck are being told in their stories with their parents is essentially that they're not good enough; the Buckleys are grieving Daniel and don't have enough love to give to Buck; the Diazes want Christopher, not Eddie
Both sets of parents are missing/trying to make up for what could have been -> Phillip and Margaret lost Daniel & only had Buck so they could get a match to save Daniel which ended up not working; it's heavily implied that Ramon and Helena regret the decisions they made with their kids, namely Eddie, and want to make up for it with Christopher
Buck and Maddie are in it together growing up, they're a unit (until they're not), and Buck defends Maddie to their parents; Eddie and Christopher are a unit ever since Shannon left, and Eddie is adamant to his parents that Christopher is staying with him and that's what's best for him
Eddie was the absolute best person for Buck to talk to regarding his blowup at his parents, not only because of "I've been down that road. I don't recommend it", "Hey, that's not on you", "What do you have to apologize for? Did you say anything that wasn't true?", "You can give yourself some time, you know. To process", but also because they are literally coming from the same place, in the same position, just with different players involved and slightly different dynamics but still the same
Both were left by the supposed loves of their lives: Shannon and Abby
Both know what it's like to be left behind, knowing exactly how it "feels to watch the person you love walk away"
Eddie is doing his best to be a good dad to Christopher, not only because he deserves it, but to do right by his son, he literally learned from his parents' mistakes, especially Ramon "That little boy has taught me so much more about being a man than war ever could"; Buck is great with kids and is good to Christopher, even though he's not technically a dad yet (in name anyway), he still has learned from his parents' mistakes "You don't just give up on people" "Love me anyway"
Oliver has talked about Buck's reaction in 2x03 when seeing Eddie and Christopher reunite after the earthquake and how he sees a dad who cares very much for his son compared to his own father; then we see not only Eddie being supportive of Buck through the turmoil with his parents in season 4, but we also see him trusting Buck with Christopher in season 3 despite the events of the tsunami and making him Christopher's legal guardian after the 3x15 events which is HUGE considering season 4 delved into Buck's issues and he is made a guardian of Eddie's son (being told that in 4x14), that he is being trusted with someone else's son when he's not their biological parent, the phrase "But no one will ever fight for my son as hard as you and that is what I want for him" is so deeply meaningful that ofc it shocked the hell out of Buck, here he is not feeling like he was ever good enough, that he was disappointing, that he's alone and sad and will always be left behind and that he's expendable and Eddie literally said "fuck that" and dismantled all of that in one fell swoop with that move...
Eddie is literally answering Buck's worst fears and his issues (4x04, 4x05, 4x14) and Buck is answering Eddie's about being a dad, that he's doing the right thing by Christopher, and having support (2x04, 3x12) = complementing one another and filling those spaces each has
Basically, I know Ryan said these two "bring out the best in each other" and yes, that's true but my question is this: if not endgame, WHAT'S ALL THIS THEN???
Interwoven down to the tiniest detail, I tell you. INTERWOVEN

OTP Game
Rules: Pick your top 10 OTPs/Ships. Place them in order and answer 20 random questions.
1. Xena & Gabrielle - Xena: Warrior Princess
2. Derek & Casey - Life With Derek
3. Rose & Vanessa - Out With Dad
4. Eli & Oskar - Let the Right One In
5. James & Riley - The Next Step
6. Emily & Sue - Dickinson
7. Doctor & Rose - Doctor Who
8. Cory & Shawn - Boy Meets World
9. Merlin & Arthur - Merlin
10. Rhydian & Maddy - Wolfblood
1. Do you remember the episode/scene/chapter that you first started shipping 6? - Oh man with Emily and Sue, I think it was their first scene together. Where they kiss in the orchard. Ella and Hailee bring this intensity, where it feels like you as a viewer are just witnessing the scene rather than watching it - if that makes any sense at all. You feel like you have no power or influence over their relationship.
2. Have you ever read a fanfic about 2? - So much. Like you don't even know. Your ships are either canon endgame or it has really good fanfiction. You can't have it both ways.
3. Has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr screen saver? - Yes. The aesthetics in that movie are great.
4. If 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be? -  *cries laughing* well they had the worst break up ever that traumatised me at the age of nine and I'm still recovering today.
5. Why is 1 so important? - Because its the Greatest love story on Television. Possibly ever.
6. Is 9 a funny ship or a serious ship? - Both.
7. Out of all the ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry? - Derek and Casey. Everyone else can go home.
8. Out of all your ships listed, which ship has the strongest bond? - I would say Xena and Gabrielle. Because they're literal soulmates who find each other in every version of reality/universe.
9. How many times have you read/watched the 10’s fandom? - I recently rewatched Wolfblood a few months ago and honestly its one of the more beautiful shows that have ever watched. I live near where it was shot. I remember seeing one of the sets once. Honestly one of the most exciting days of my life.
10. Which ship has lasted the longest? - Xena and Gabrielle. They got frozen together for 25 years. Don't ask.
11. How many times, if ever, has 6 broken up? - I would say once so far?? I don't know. Their relationship is very complicated because they're both women in the 1800s and no lesbian relationship, especially under their circumstances, really stood a chance to thrive.
12. If the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8? - Ooo I don't know, I feel like both relationships would stand a chance to make it out alive. But I feel like Cory and Shawn would because they would laugh all the way through it the whole time.
13. Did 7 ever have to hide their relationship for any reason?- Um..kind of. Well Doctor and Rose's relationship was subtextual for the most part. They never said they were together. But everyone watching could see that they were.
14. Is 4 still together?  - Well it depends on how you see the ending. Oskar becomes Eli's carer or becomes a vampire like him. I read the short sequel in 'Let the Old Dreams Die' that the author John Ajvide Lindqvist, wrote where Oskar and Eli are still together after 20 years and are vampires. So that's my ending.
15. Is 10 canon? - Yes. They're happily living together in Canada now. Thats all that matters.
16. If all 10 ships were put into a couple’s Hunger Games, which couple would win?  - Xena and Gabrielle because they're both warriors.
17. Has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5’s ship?  - Yes. Multiple times. But they always pulled through, because they always kept choosing each other in the end. James and Riley were relationship goals for me back in the day.
18. Which ship would you defend to the death and beyond? - Derek and Casey. No question.
19. Do you spend hours a day going through 3’s tumblr page?  - Ah for that. Out with Dad would have to have a tumblr fandom. And it doesn't sadly.
20. If an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all forever, which ship would you sink?  - Well Doctor and Rose is already broken up forever. :'(

Rewatching 911 and I’d just like to point out that the fist time we see the airport workers in 4x08 is 3x10 (Christmas spirit) which is about found family. It’s the one with the Christmas party the 118 comes back to at the station. Michael opens up to Bobby about his tumor; his reluctancy to do so was because he felt he had lost his family. At the end of the episode, confiding in Bobby shows he hasn’t. Maddie lets go if Doug, finally being able to fully embrace her present family. Hen and Karen decide to foster a kid, and schedule an appointment w a social worker. And buck and eddie........ we get chris sitting between them at dinner (lunch maybe??? They said dinner but it looked like 2 fuckin pm), buck helping Chris open a present w Eddie watching, they take the big 118 family photo standing next to each other w Chris standing in front, and just generally them being a family. Like buck hangs around w Hen but the montage of all the families has buck and Eddie and Chris— together. And if you wanna go that far and talk about buck walking to Eddie w the mistletoe we can go that far.
Now... 4x08.... it’s about that very same family being threatened. Nia might get taken away, Maddie and chim argue about where to have the baby, buck and Albert are not on the same page regarding Veronica, and buck and Eddie....... Chris runs to buck because the introduction of Ana threatens buck’s place in his life. Chris is scared of losing buck, and thus his family. But, we know from 3x10 the connection each family has to one another. We know that the family in 3x10 is set in stone. Therefore— prepare yourselves for this shit— buddie endgame?????? maybe????? maybe this is a little bit of proof?????????? just a little tinge of proof???? jus a tiney winey bit??

A Very long list of Season 5 Predictions/Wish List
I tried to hit as many of the characters as possible so this is really really long
The trickiest thing about this show seems to be the ever growing cast creating several stories at once and the fact that it’s a show about first responders so even characters that don’t seem like they would follow that career choice end up there and those that don’t sometimes feel out of place.
This is not to say that I don’t LOVE AND ADORE FIREFIGHTER ALBERT HAN! (but really kind of thought it came out of nowhere and yet I’m not surprised because what else were they going to do with him?)
It seems unlikely they’d assign Albert to the 118 unless Bobby requests him like he did with Eddie, but I think Bobby might have some hesitations about that. They’re already as close as family and sometimes make dangerous decisions because of it. He might feel its better for Albert to be with a different fire house or maybe Chimney would.
But he’s a regular so putting him with the 118 would be the best way to give him screen time
I personally think he’ll be assigned to the 133 since we’ve seen a bit of them this season. I’d love if there was a fun rivalry between the two firehouses (whichever one Albert ends up at.) I’ve said it before that the 118 is probably notorious at this point for the weird situations they get into. The teasing and the taunting would just be so much fun to watch. Albert talking to Chim or Buck and just being like, so the guys told me about this time…
Actually can we take a moment to appreciate that the 118 got ANOTHER firetruck destroyed and this one wasn’t even theirs. The 133 spends FIVE MINUTES with Buck and Eddie and their truck is in shambles.
On a more serious note, we might meet Chimney and Albert’s dad. I’m thinking he’s not going to be thrilled about his youngest joining the fire department and show up to talk some sense into him and scold Chimney for letting him do it.
I’m so confused about how much time has passed? How long does it take to become a firefighter? They must have some sort of plan for him because cutting out him going through training seems like a lost opportunity. It’s a story we haven’t really seen through anything but montages. Is it difficult? Would he try to quit? I’d have liked to see him making the decision in the first place.
putting the rest under here because its really a lot
We’ll also miss Eddie recovering (and Bobby too actually), which I’m a little bummed about but not devastated. It sounds like we won’t see much in the way of the effects of either shooting but can’t do anything about that now unless they flash back and have them work towards that moment on the roof.
My biggest concern with the time jump is missing literally any of Maddie’s story. I don’t know much about PPD or if its called recovery or overcoming it but I do want to see Maddie work through that and Chimney and the others supporting her.
I think her leaving the dispatch center will be temporary but it may take half or all of next season for her to return.
Maybe she’ll take over for May, if she does go off to school
Or May might continue working at Dispatch and going to school.
If she doesn’t go to school Athena is not going to be very happy with her. But maybe we could get Maddie and Josh being big siblings to May which is an underappreciated dynamic. Maybe it will help Maddie cope with how useless she’s feeling with Jee.
I’ll need to rewatch to see if they say what May wants to do but maybe she’ll study journalism or something that will keep her in the loop of the main characters the way it does Taylor.
And speaking of Taylor, she is actually a very interesting character, whether you like her (morally) or not. I think we’ll see more of her in season 5 and I genuinely think she’ll fall hard for Buck. And I think everyone needs to chill about how it’ll destroy her character.  We’ve already established that Taylor is like the female version of Buck (with a bit more sense maybe but a mirror if him non the less). If Buck is allowed to grow and want an actual relationship, is anyone really surprised they’d have Taylor go through that too.
She’s just a few steps behind, like he’s in relationship phase and she’s just coming to terms with her own feelings for him
My big concern, since they like to break Buck’s poor little heart, is that she’ll leave. She’ll get a job opportunity and pick it over Buck. I think it would be a hard decision for her but in character. Or maybe they’ll surprise us and make Buck and Taylor endgame (I know a lot of people don’t want to hear that but I could see it happening that way)
On the flip side I don’t know what’s going to happen with Eddie and Ana. I know she’s pretty much hated but its super unclear what the plan is other than that they’ll eventually break up per what Carla implied. I suspect they’ll be together for a bit of season five until Eddie figures out what’s up with what his heart wants. I don’t think Ana is some awful witch so the break up will probably be mutual or at the very least Ana won’t be surprised.
But hopefully we get more than just that as far as Eddie goes. The episodes we do get that are focused on him are really some of my favorites. They are wrapping up his moving on from Shannon arc which is cool. The trying to be a good father to Christopher will always be there, that’s something that will never change and always be a growing/learning experience.
I’d love to meet one or both of Eddie’s sisters. They don’t have to stick around long term like Albert did but to have them pop up with some crisis would be interesting and we could learn more about Eddie and the dynamic with his family which seems loving but strained.
Maybe we will see Eddie working more with Hen too. I was wondering if they’d make Eddie a full paramedic to take over for her eventually, which I decided they probably won’t do. But one episode of Buck distressed over the fact that he and Eddie wouldn’t be partners anymore would be fun drama.
The two really are just at a loss without each other and I love that. They get so pouty when they’re apart.
I don’t know what other plans they might have for Buck next season. I suspect we’ll see him worrying over Maddie and I’d kill to see him watching Jee-Yun.
I don’t know how old she’ll be because of the time jump but can you imagine Buck watching the baby and it just being an absolute disaster. So he starts calling everyone in a panic and we get firefam taking care of Baby Jee, maybe while Chim and Maddie are at a therapy session or just a weekend away for themselves.
I’m convinced the Baby would love Eddie. I think its just me projecting my desire for Eddie and Maddie to interact more. But like Hen teasing him because of course the baby loves him, all the girls love Eddie, he’s got the pretty face. Buck being super jealous that Jee likes him more. Eddie being genuinely surprised because he felt like such a failure when Chris was a baby.
Denny, Harry and Christopher are all getting older too so there has got to be a story there with at least one, if not all of them. Harry was sidelined this season but I love that kid, he is the spawn of Athena and Michael and we already know he’s a little trouble maker. Match that with Christopher who is sassy and too smart for his own good and Denny who is clearly the good kid of the bunch. I don’t know, it’s another lost opportunity if they don’t do something with that.
They could assign Karen and Hen an older foster kid who’s maybe not such a good influence at first. Unless they opt for just younger ones, I’m not really sure how that works. But they could get one that’s not as easy as nia and they have to work for that bond.
Might be they adopt them at the end
I hope we see more of Hen’s mom and med school friends but not like a crazy amount. The cast is already too big but I love them so an occasional appearance would be welcome.
I love David and Michael too but they always seem like the hardest to work in because, as stated, they are not first responders. David is a doctor though so maybe we’ll see some interaction with him and Hen. And all the Bobby and Michael content is welcome.
I NEED A WEDDING NEXT SEASON! Just pick a pair and marry them please!!! Maddie and Chimney!!! Michael and David!!! Someone, please! Even just a proposal?! Maybe? Please?
And there will be another crossover event which is exciting because I really enjoyed the first one. I wonder if they’ll come to LA this time and what would bring them there. With the scheduling of the shows next season they won’t have to tie them together so much time frame wise. They literally could just be popping in for a visit. I’m not gonna lie when I thought about another crossover I really wanted Bobby the self-taught chef to meet Charles the actual chef but now I can’t have that and it makes me so sad.
Putting all this out there is a really good way to insure it never happens, but still, they seem like logical places to go as of the finale.

watching full moon (creepy af) after the way people slammed the blackout arc is wild.
and mayhaps bc i see people talk about how the first season feels like a different show that they don't put as much stock in it, but i don't think it feels that much different.
maddie + eddie aside the only noticeable difference is that chimney doesn't have a lot to do. partially bc of the rebar to the skull taking him out for like three episodes?
to go off on a tangent since i'm already here. i've already talked about this in a different text post so i'll throw it under a cut.
before i started my rewatch i felt like the only real catalyst for buck leaving his fuckboy past was the fact that bobby fired him on that roof top. and i definitely think that definitely played a hand in it... but i do think that him liking abby + the fact that their relationship was strictly over the phone until point of origin also played a role and then heartbreaker really solidified that it wasn't gonna work out as much as i wanted them too.
i'm still not sold on the buck software upgrades eliminating casual sex for him tho. at least to the level that the show wants me too... buck actually paid lip service to the idea... but also showed him eager to hook up and then this life we choose [ maybe careful what you wish for, it's fuzzy and technically not on s2 yet] established that buck doesn't refer to ali as his girlfriend. she jokes about using the loft a hookup spot. it's not at all what his relationship was like with abby.
unlike taylor. we've seen them go from friendly to flirty to establishing they mean something to one another. that buck is invested in himself and taylor is invested in being there for him. which isn't something we ever saw from abby/buck. heartbreaker made it clear that they were at two different points in their realtionship [ the sme thing that was echoed by buck in desperate times.
so sure monday's episode is supposed to test their relationship, but every other couple on the show has always come out of what was supposed to break them stronger. and unlike connie megan as far as we know hasn't only agreed to be on one season of the show so them being endgame is a possibility that abby never was.

My thoughts on 911 3x16 “The One That Got Away”
‘- Look I have a lot of thoughts about Buck. This is mostly about Buck.
- If anyone ever leaves Buck again I will riot. RIOT.
- If so much as a potted plant dies on him I will THROW THINGS.
- Well we definitely clowned ourselves with the cat a little bit, huh.
- Give Buck a pet 2k20
- I realize trauma doesn’t canonically exist in this show but like... we couldn’t have gotten a mention of what happened last episode? In passing? Anything?
- So let’s get this out of the way, obviously we were all clowning forever and “The One That Got Away” really was supposed to remind us Abby was a big part of Buck’s life.
- No one EVER tell me again that Buck doesn’t still think about the supermarket fight scene and that kitchen scene when he literally tells Maddie that he’s worried he did that thing again of making it all about himself, when that is exactly what Eddie accused him of? Buck really, really needs to hear Eddie tell him that he doesn’t actually think that.
- I do like the angle of showing that finding/meeting the “One That Got Away” doesn’t mean that everything will be the way you remembered it or that that person still really exists the way you want them to. Abby and Buck are clearly not endgame as she is only back for two episodes for closure, and it might just serve to show that Buck might think it was this big, romantic relationship that is responsible for him growing up, when really, he did all that work by himself
- Bobby and Athena are 🔥
- Buck and Eddie looking at each other before jumping over to the burning building? Iconic.
- I have said it many times and I will continue saying it, the rescues involving actual fires are my favorites, and this one was epic.
- Speaking of Abby, I just rewatched some S1 episodes and the way they got together was super uncomfortable to me? She basically talks to him, then sees him on TV and realizes he’s a hottie, so she uses her position to find out his phone number and basically calls him ALL. THE. TIME. and basically uses him as an emotional escape from her life, then starts dating him on her terms and her terms alone, and even though she knows he has abandonment issues she goes and abandons him without explanation or so much as an apology?
- Hen.. I’m honestly so confused what this was supposed to be about? Is this setting up Hen leaving and going to medical school or something? She 100% broke the protocol and not only was Bobby like: “Good job, who cares about rules, not like I would ever suspend anyone but Buck LMAO”, but everyone in the 118 congratulates and celebrates her, which, fair enough, she was a queen for saving that guy,
- but then Buck has a big win and everyone’s like: I mean, cool, have fun celebrating by yourself we have to get back to our lives BYEEEE? He was even gonna pay for the first round, not one of them could have gone out for ONE beer with him?
- SO LET’S GET INTO IT. I understand that everyone in the 118 has family and obligations and they are not obligated to hang out with Buck because he’s lonely. But how can they keep saying they’re family when the most consistent storytelling element in the past seasons has been that they don’t really view Buck’s emotions, needs or opinions as valid? Like dude clearly has abandonment issues, and he just had the main person in his life almost die last episode, gives 110% for his job and all he gets is a super insincere “Oh yeah, I mean totally.... We’re.... family.... sure. What’s your name again?” Okay I’m exaggerating a lot here. But I’m mad that in order for them to set up Abby as the thing that’s missing in Buck’s life, they’ve made the 118 basically abandon Buck again?
- Maddie is so fucking beautifullllll
- GIVE US BUCK BEGINS NOW. How they can, with any sincerity, sit there and tell us we don’t need Buck begins after it’s made clear how messed up he actually is emotionally - It’s a joke at this point??? Clearly we need to know more. Did we even know Buck considers Maddie moving out/ leaving him with their parents as leaving him “the first time”? Older siblings move out all the time, so what made their situation different? Where are these abandonment issues coming from?  Was he adopted maybe??
- I was a little disappointed in Eddie this episode, like acting all exasperated over Buck for wanting to do a risky rescue when he literally cut his own rope last episode instead of waiting until they’d pulled him up to a height where he could transmit again and tell them to lower him back down? Not a great look. He did invite Buck to a sleepover, which is 🤡🔥😻 but he could have actually realized that Buck was lonely and been like: “Hey, Chris would be so happy if you came!” Or “We can always make Nachos at home while they’re watching their movie, and I have beers too, so we can celebrate your big rescue on the couch?” And speaking of this, Chim could have also invited him over to celebrate his big rescue with him and Maddie at least - Anyway I just feel like as his best friend, not even as anything romantic, I’d have expected him to be there for his “wingman” a bit more. Hopefully we’ll get more of that next episode..
- No matter how glad I am that Abby and Buck are no longer together, I am so excited to see Connie Britton’s face again on this show? Like, I love that woman?
- Wow this all sounds super negative, I swear I liked most of it, and I am excited for Buck to move on and for that focus on his mental state, it’s obviously super interesting to see what happens. It does seem a little, minus the teacher being in the mix, that they’re really clearing the slate for both Eddie and Buck to start dating again.. I’m really excited for what Ryan alluded to with Eddie being worried over Buck’s emotional state when Abby comes back. Bring it On, 911!

How would you rate each of the season finales from best to worst and why?
hmmm season one didnt really have a finale though? like it just ended on control freaks which was a good episode but not really a finale uhhh i guess i should rate the 2-parters in general since thats a little more fitting. theres no real structures to them being finales and they crammed 3 of them into season 2 lol
1) reign storm is number one for me, both RS and TUE rank very close and story wise (in terms of concept) i like TUE more but story for RS (in terms of actual execution) felt much more filling. im not a fan of the ecto-skeleton, especially with how they kinda tossed it away afterwards, but thats really the most i didnt enjoy from it. a lot of character dialogue and interaction was at its best in this episode and vlad especially was entertaining as hell with his antics.
2) i know its a little blasphemous to rank the ultimate enemy at #2 but i explained a bit of my reasoning lol. like, i really like TUE conceptually a lot and theres a lot of potential for a lot interpretation and story and all that, but time travel is a very delicate idea to work with in stories which the show certainly uh.......did not have. the episode fumbles a lot in execution with some aspects being a little too silly to take seriously (like the opening scene showing how amity advanced so much and made you think it was like hundreds of years into the future but it was only 10? danny’s reaction to certain events not being written the best? how the literal crux of the episode was explosive burger sauce???). but you know, the episode gave the phandom a lot of materials and ideas to work with in fan content and while TUE sorta falls apart if you really focus on details, its still a good episode overall.
3) hnnnnnnggg reality trip i guess? honestly the vast divide between how much i like the first two vs these last ones is a gosh darn canyon. similarly with how i like RS an TUE at about the same level but for different reasons, i also DISLIKE RT and PP at about the same level as well. I talked a bit about this one in another ask, but basically this whole episode is just a marvel rip off and hardly transformative of the concept in any way. the whole “secret reveal but then reverse it by the end of the episode” couldve worked great but only if we actually explored the concept a bit more instead of using it as a driving force to have the kids be chased across the country (not that it doesnt make sense but we hardly tackle the concept itself in favor of just having it happen for plot). and you know, i hate how they handled the reveal with the parents. i understand reversing the effects of having danny’s secret revealed for everyone else like the GiW but jack and maddie literally show themselves accepting danny for who he is and show that danny doesnt need to worry about being dissected molecule by molecule?? but then he just??? mind wipes them anyway???? im just not a fan of that lol. i guess one good thing i can say about this episode is the roadtrip aspect? idk i liked seeing the trio go to different places and hang out in diners and stuff like that, so ill give it that.
4) aaaand we all know what goes here, of course its phantom planet. everyone knows the problems with this one, we all are well aware of it! RT was bad because it was mostly boring and formulaic, but PP just had a whole smogus board of bad decisions. honestly, in my rewatch of danny phantom a couple months back, this series finale really had every problem of season 3 bundled up into one little package. sam’s arc, how every episode lowkey doesnt make any sense, the overly weird focus on the sam/danny endgame, its all here! its all right here in phantom planet like a full course shit meal! the characterization is awful and just a disgusting display of decay to end the show on. the worse part is that i feel like it couldve worked too, in some way if just everything was done differently with different writers and different everything else this concept couldve worked! but it didnt, just like everything else in season 3, it was good conceptually but when it came down to execution it just didnt work. and thats that.
