In-8 (20.4 x 15.2 cm), red long-grained morocco leather, gilded Greek frieze framing the covers, super ex-libris on the front cover, smooth spine decorated with gilded motifs (period binding).

[31] pages, first blank

Collection of 21 pieces calligraphed in small, legible handwriting by the same hand, except for the last one by another hand.

There are verses entitled “Bardin, aide de camp, à son général”, “Couplets chantés à l'inauguration de la maison du Génal Junot”, “À l'occasion du mariage du Général Junot”...

Top cover gilt-lettered “le général de division Junot”.

Black ink stain on lower cover, rare marks, last page a little creased.

En France, le rapport que l'on peut développer avec l'alcool peut parfois se révéler compliqué.

En effet, nous sommes dans une culture où l'exploitation viticole est une grande fierté nationale, c'est pourquoi vin et fromage sont le symbole de notre gastronomie à travers le monde tout en faisant partie de notre éducation.

Selon les familles, le vin peut être associé aux réunions de famille durant les repas du dimanche ou les grands événements comme les anniversaires, les mariages, les naissances et même les décès. Nourriture et boissons vont toujours de paire avec les moments forts en émotion.

Un aspect affectif avec l'alcool peut donc se développer, sans qu'on en prenne tout de suite conscience car on a pris l'habitude de voir son entourage boire du vin, du champagne, des apéritifs ou des digestifs qui rythment le repas.

Hélas, cette banalisation de l'alcool peut facilement amener à l'alcoolisme. D'une part le vin est disponible à prix modique, en grande quantité et en accès libre dans tous les supermarchés. D'un autre côté, l'hypocrisie généralisée concernant cette addiction la rend difficile à détecter et à soigner.

Le plus compliqué reste qu'une personne n'admette qu'elle ait un problème d'alcoolisme. Elle se dira bon vivant car notre culture fait l'éloge de la dégustation d'un bon vin qui accompagne un bon plat. Elle estimera que boire un seul verre par jour est raisonnable puisque pour la majorité des gens l'alcoolique se résume à l'image d'un sans domicile fixe ivre, gisant dans le caniveau.
