I'm feeling pretty serious about doing pet/nature portrait commissions.
And I think I found a good formula to figure out prices
(length/height + width) x canvas price
- most of the time the canvas price will be $4 (because I use the value canvases we have at work)
- If a more professional canvas is selected (like the Level 1, 2, 3 Gallery Wrapped/ Back Stapled) then the canvas price will be raised. Those bitches are expensive.
UNFORTUNATELY any size larger than 18x24 would most like use the Level 1 Back Stapled canvases (to not break the customer's bank of course, we're all struggling)
THESE ARE PHYSICAL PAINTINGS so extra charge for postage will be applied after.
I would do my best to use a Flat Rate Box when I could to save the customer money.
So here's what I'm thinking, and tell me if these prices seem fair.
Standard sizes:
5x7 - $48
8x10 - $72
9x12 - $84
11x14 - $100
12x16 - $112
16x20 - $144
18x24 - $168
Odd sizes:
4x4 - $32
5x5 - $40
10x10 - $80
12x12 - $96
14x14 - $112
10x20 - $120
20x20 - $160
20x24 - $176
I know I have artist friends on here so if there's any advice one could give me I would like that.
Yes, I know I need to make an actual sheet for it to show samples. In fact I have one thing for these specific commissions and here it is:

Here's my 2022 in art collages. It was a pretty weak year for me with half of the months having only 1 if any pieces I could really consider showcasing. But that's what poor mental health does to ya lol.

| RandOCtober 2022 ~ #15: Rufus ~ Norman Rockwell |
Day 15! Uh, not sure I'll be able to pass this off as anything resembling a legitimate Rockwell, but I learned enough to want another crack at it, and that's kind of the point of this month. 😅 But hey, the cat's cute.
