‘My dad and my uncles used to go on track with their street bikes and sometimes I had the possibility to go with them and I was so excited to see them riding,’ says the 25-year-old Italian, who looks more like a philosophy student than a mean, lean motorcycle racer. ‘I remember perfectly when my dad got his Aprilia RSV4, the one with the trick taillight, and I thought how beautiful it was.’
‘Then I remember one of my uncles arriving at my home to call my dad to go for a ride and hearing the dry clutch of his Ducati 996. So from a very young age I was inside that world and every time Valentino was on TV we cheered for him. I was so happy when he was winning and I was crying when he didn't win the title in 2006. I believed a lot in him when he was at Ducati but it didn't work.’
That performance won him a ride in the 2013 Moto3 world championship but the step was too big. He didn’t score a point all year and wandered around the paddock, a lost, forlorn 16-year-old. Bizarrely, this proved to be his greatest fortune, because Rossi and lifelong sidekick Uccio Salucci saw talent inside the morose teenager. ‘I remember meeting Uccio for the first time at Brno,’ Bagnaia recalls. ‘He told me to smile more, because whenever he saw me I was angry or unhappy. A few weeks later Uccio called my dad and they had a meeting at Phillip Island. They discussed their new project for young riders, the VR46 Academy - I became one of the first academy riders.’
‘I didn't work with psychologists because I think the people that can help you more are the people around you. I love it when those people tell me what they think about me and what I need to improve.’
Bagnaia is so different from his mentor - quiet, humble and hardly bubbling with charisma - but perhaps he will get more interesting with age (riders usually do). However, he does already have some rock-and-roll credentials: during MotoGP’s 2022 summer break he went clubbing in Ibiza with Rossi and the rest of the VR46 clan. On the way home he stuck his car in a ditch and got nicked for drink-driving. This misdemeanour got him into big trouble with many, but not so long ago it was pretty much compulsory for motorcycle racers to get drunk and drive their cars into ditches. At least that episode proved Bagnaia isn’t as squeaky clean as he seems.

No one has noticed the red flame symbol motorcycle on his helmet, NTH LINCS England. What is this all about?
Yes, someone else noticed it as well
Tumblr media
Though, the picture showing that sticker has already been posted by him in April 2022.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Appears he had loaned bike that day but the helmet is his
Tumblr media
It's the Hells Angels sign, and the North Lincolnshire MC, a support your local motorcycle club. I don't know if you should put anything like a statement on it, it could very well be he just liked the sticker. And I do think he rides more across the UK than he shows us.
btw. there are other stickers as well on his helmet. In the above pic and this one you can see the Vance Hines sticker
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and some more, if you love to search it out be my guest.
Apparently he likes to put stickers on his helmet... 🤷‍♀️

Title : Riding With You
Characters : Ram, Bheem
Summary : Ram loves riding on Bheem’s bike.
Word count : 533
Ram had been more than a little reluctant the first time Bheem had invited him onto his motorcycle.
He wasn’t quite sure why, because it wasn’t particularly frightening for a man who could fight off a mob. Perhaps he just preferred a horse because it was more reliable than something mechanical. It was funny because it should be the other way around, since Bheem was the one who lived near a forest.
However, the first time he hopped on the bike, he fit so comfortably behind Bheem it was like the space had been left empty for so long just so he could come and fill it. It was like a mold that they both fit perfectly. As soon as they zipped away, he realized he’d been an idiot to ever be apprehensive about something so purely fun.
Sometimes as he rode behind Bheem, Ram’s eyes would water as he realized he’d never felt more alive and at one with the world. A feeling his horse had never really managed to instill in him.
It was so freeing, so rejuvenating…it made his thirty five year old self relive what it was like to be a teenager with minimal worries, at least momentarily. But he often felt that way when he was with Bheem, someone who put him at ease. And also excited him.
Although they never spoke of it beyond Bheem telling him to hold on tightly before hitting the gas, Ram loved holding Bheem close to him as they rode. Sometimes he worried that he held on too tightly, hurting Bheem. Then he’d remember that the man didn’t bruise like a peach as he was extremely resilient. He’d ignore his racing heart as he’d rest his cheek against his friend’s back. No longer caring what he might think. Deep down he knew Bheem wouldn’t care anyway.
He was kind like that.
Ram liked the close proximity of their bodies because it felt as though they were one. It was as though their hearts sang the same tune as they flew into the wind. He had to admit there was no better feeling.
Bheem was the only one who made Ram feel almost submissive, like he wanted to give himself to Bheem and allow him to take care of him. That was how he felt when he rode with him. He no longer was the strongest man in the room—or in this case, on the bike. He, at the very least, had an equal. It felt… nice.
Sometimes the ride was so intoxicating that, after hopping off, Ram would pull Bheem into his arms just because. Like he suddenly felt that his friend could vanish at any moment and he needed to relish his presence right then and there.
But there was also something else.
This was something people did together. Something friends did together. And now he and Bheem were part of that exclusive club as well.
Bheem made him feel so…accepted.
He only wished he could think of a way to ignite the same thrilling passion in his friend. The euphoria so similar to when Bheem had first told him he loved him.
That he’d die for him.

When you’re living in the present, there’s no past, no future. Nothing exists outside of the moment, and set in its amber, you’re eternal. You’ve never been so alive, you’ll never be this alive again, you’re forever alive; that you is gone and unretrievable and immortal all at once.
The theme for Lights on Park Ave Round 46 is living in the moment. Here are the prompts:
“Just Thinking” - William Stafford
A quote about in-between spaces by Marina Abramović
The scene in Severance where Irving and Burt manage to have a secret, intimate moment despite the environment they’re in being hostile to love
A gifset of George and Jim simply enjoying each other’s company in Tom Ford’s A Single Man (2009)
“Friday I’m in Love” - The Cure
“One More Time” - Daft Punk
Photos of clubgoers partying at the opening of the Palladium in 1985
A gifset of John Hughes’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (1986)
The Hug: Closed Eyes and Smile - Harvey Stein
Anthony Bourdain’s tips on enjoying life
A gifset of Pete Docter and Bob Petersen’s Up (2009)
A gifset of Harold Ramis’s Groundhog Day (1993)
“One Kiss” - Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris
Photos of couples kissing in clubs by Karel Chladek
“Versace on the Floor” - Bruno Mars
A photo of a man sitting behind David Bowie on a motorcycle in Greece
An excerpt from “Dancing Through New York in a Summer of Joy and Grief” by Carina del Valle Schorske accompanied by photos by Maridelis Morales Rosado
The scene where Calum dances with Sophie on their last night of their last vacation, happy and alive, from Charlotte Wells’s Aftersun (2022)
Round 46 will end on June 30, 11:59 PM ET (what time is that for me?).
As always, you’re free to jump in whenever you’d like during the round, a wide variety of work types is accepted, and there are no minimum work requirements. Unfinished works and works for other fandom events are allowed. You can find more information about Lights on Park Ave and the participation guidelines here.

Gemstones Episode 2.1 Review: Junior likes dicks, Kelvin likes pecs, and f*k yeah, we got both
Season 2 of The Righteous Gemstones began over two years after the Season 1 finale, and the back stories, personalities, and even the genre has changed.  Remember, Danny McBride likes his seasons to be complete stories, with no or few call-backs, so new viewers easily understand what's going on.  In fact, it may be fun for us to start afresh, watch as if we have never seen or heard of these people before.
Tumblr media
Memphis Soul Stew: Memphis, 1968. Teenage Eli Gemstone, the Maniac Kid (Jake Kelley), is playing a heel, a pro wrestling villain: "from the wrong side of the tracks, a newcomer to the League, all muscle, all attitude."  He fights dirty, pretending to reconcile with opponent Kyle Hawk, then throwing him out of the ring.
As he fights, his manager Glendon Marsh (Wayne Duvall) cheers. Glendon's teenage son Junior (Tommy Nelson) watches, sometimes happy but usually disturbed.  Is he jealous of the attention Eli is getting?  Is he a rebellious teenager during the era of the Generation Gap?.
Nice Cock:  In the locker room, Glendon offers Eli "some bonus pay on the South Side," while Junior looks on, smoking a cigarette, still either jealous or angry. As they leave, they pass a naked guy. "That's a nice cock, Ernie," Glendon says.  Junior is so busy looking that he trips, and then looks back again.  The boy is definitely into cocks and butts.
The Loan Enforcer: Glendon is a loan shark as well as a wrestling manager: the job involves beating up a deadbeat.  Eli and Junior both go, squabbling over who's the boss.
"Kill 'em!" we hear.  Psych!  It's the tv.  We meet a slovenly, drunken, foul-mouthed, abusive jackass of a husband.  While Junor subdues his wife and baby, Eli punches him a few times and asks for the money, and when he doesn't have it, breaks his thumbs. Junior laughs "derangedly" (according to the subtitles).
Afterwards Glendon drops Eli off, hands him some money, and tells him, "Buy yourself something nice." This is a feminizing statement.
As Eli drives off on his motorcycle, we hear Buck Owens' "Tall Dark Stranger":
They say a tall dark stranger is a demon, and  that a devil rides closely by his side.
So if Junior is the demon, Eli must be the devil riding beside him.  How long will they ride together?
We're fine with the faggots:  In 2022, elderly Eli Gemstone is a megachurch pastor and televangelist.  He and the satellite church ministers are discussing the case of Pastor Butterfield (Victor Williams), caught videotaping his wife and another woman having sex in a dance club restroom, while they were all high on Molly ("we thought they were Sweetarts").  The story made the front page of The New York Times, thanks to reporter Thaniel Block (Jason Schwartzman), who has made a career of publicizing ministerial sex scandals.  Eli wants to be lenient, but the others object.  (Left: random pecs)
A Spanish speaking pastor explains: "My church is ok with the maricones (roughly faggots), but we're not ready for swinging and tropus."     Pastor Diane translates: "His church is really cool with the gays and the queers, but not so much about the swingers and the thruples."  They fire Pastor Butterfield; he tries to commit suicide.
Why did Pastor Diane translate maricones with two words, gays and queers?  Why queers, doubtless with the old pejorative meaning rather than the contemporary reclamation? I get the impression that the pastors are not really ok with maricones, so any gay ministers might want to stay in the closet, especially with the reporter snooping around.  Since this is the first scene in the present day, it is doubtless setting up one of the main conflicts of the season.  But who is the gay minister  Eli, Junior, or someone not yet introduced?
Tumblr media
F*ck, yeah:  After the morning service, the family drives in a caravan to Jason's Steak House.  They get out of their cars in slow motion and walk past the al fresco area, heterosexual couples reveling in their nuclear family conformity, the "job, house, wife, kids" litany of my youth made visible. The background song brags about their heteronormative success:
Turn your head when I walk by -- I got the world at my feet.
All I want out of every day, is to wake up every morning
Sun is shining, smiling, and we've covered every room
 Wait -- where's Kelvin?
Suddenly the record scratches off. Two vans pull up with a flexing muscle Christ and the logo "Strength above All Else." Twelve muscle men emerge, wearing identical canvas gis: the God Squad! Closeups of biceps and pecs and abs, bulging, flexing, intruding on the smug primness of the nuclear families.  There is no romance here.  There is no heterosexual desire.  It is raw homoerotic power.
We see their leader from the back of his tiger-splashed leather jacket.  Who is this Messiah of Muscle,  this Pope of the Phallus, demolishing the iron cage of heteronormativity, leading us to the bright, clear love of men for men?
He turns around for the big reveal.
Kelvin!  The prissy little femme boy from church earlier?  I thought it would be Junior.
He has changed his jacket: more shiny buttons, a gold bracelet.  And his pants: a porn-star bulge and a bright gold zipper to help guide us to the Promised Land.  Obviously gay, but hardly closeted.  His life, career, and religion all center on masculine beauty.
A man we haven't met before stands beside him, identified as Keefe.  His relationship to Kelvin is unclear.  Assistant or boyfriend?  Acolyte or lover?
Kelvin gives his God Squad some micromanaging instructions about "eating light," and starts to walk toward the steakhouse.  Keefe stops him. "Excuse me, sir. Will you be dining with the men and I?"  Sir? Assistant.
Kelvin says no, he'll be dining "above you" with the family.
Keefe: "Shall I join you?"  Boyfriend.
Kelvin: No. "Upstairs church lunch is only for family...and Daddy's closest work associates."
This upsets Keefe.  He looks like he's about to cry.  Apparently they have enjoyed intimacy before, so he thinks he should be treated as a boyfriend. Never hook up with your boss, Dude: it only leads to trouble.
Kelvin: "Do not take this personal.  No matter how many disciples we gather, you're still my Number One."  So Kelvin is Jesus, and Keefe is the Beloved Disciple.  Assistant
Keefe still looks upset, so Kelvin says "Let me tickle them titty meats" and reaches out to squeeze his nipple through his shirt.  Hey, that's inappropriate with an employee. Boyfriend..
Then he swishes off with a jaunty over-the-shoulder smile, pushing up the gay stereotypic behavior  Boyfriend.
Now we see Kelvin's central conflict: he is closeted after all.  He imagines that being gay is incompatible with the cozy families sitting upstairs in Jason's Steakhouse, so if he wants a career and a family, he must deny Keefe like Peter denied Christ: "Him?  Oh, he's my...um...assistant."  During this season, Keefe will be pushing for a place at the table, recognition as a romantic partner. Will Kelvin find a way to admit him?

2. my school president (2022-2023)
MyDramaList synopsis: Student body president Tinn has a secret crush on Gun, the head of the music club and lead singer of the middling band Chinzhilla. The son of the principal, Tinn is instructed to axe any clubs that don't boost their school's reputation. The music club tops that list and Tinn is therefore Gun's number one enemy. Desperate to save his club, Gun will do anything, even pledge servitude to Tinn. When Tinn learns Chinzhilla has a rule that band members aren't permitted to date until they win the Hot Wave Music Contest, he vows to do whatever it takes to help them do just that. Where to watch: GMMTV's youtube channel or Viki Highlights: great balance of sweetness of seriousness, killer soundtrack, delightful friend group
3. my only 12% (2022)
MyDramaList synopsis: Cake and Seeiw have been friends as far as they can remember. Cake is very outgoing and has a lot of friends while Seeiw is very shy and barely speaks to people he's not used to being around. Despite their different personalities, they are very close. By being next-door neighbors since they were born, they became an essential aspect of each other's lives. However, as they become older, things change and so do the way they see each other. There is only a 12% possibility of having a successful first love. Would that 12% be enough? Where to watch: iqiyi (but also available on platforms like dailymotion) Highlights: slow burn, time jump done right, tremendous acting in emotional scenes
4. not me (2021)
MyDramaList synopsis: Black and White are twins with a powerful connection. After their parents' separation, though, White’s father took him abroad, and their family effectively severed in two. It isn’t until fifteen years have passed that White—now grown—returns to Thailand. One day, seemingly from nowhere, White feels an agony like death. He recovers in the hospital, but they’re unable to determine the cause. Then he picks up a call from a childhood friend, Tod. Tod tells him that Black is in a coma following a vicious attack, and he learns that Black is in a motorcycle gang. Unable to endure the harm done to his brother in silence, and suspecting it was one of Black’s close friends—Sean, Gram, or Yok—who betrayed him, White disguises himself as Black to root out the traitor. But White doesn’t know his brother as well as he thought; he’s not behaving like the Black Sean knows, distrustful and uncaring about the feelings of others. Sean's suspicious. The difference gets under Sean's skin and makes him feel things he shouldn’t. Where to watch: GMMTV's youtube channel Highlights: beautiful and gritty aesthetic, focus on social justice, arson :)
5. i told sunset about you (2020)
MyDramaList synopsis: Teh and Oh-aew were best friends until a boyhood line of reasoning turned them into rivals. Years later as they're preparing for university admissions, both pursuing interests in the field of Communication Arts, the two meet in a Chinese language class. When Day learns he'll have approximately 180 days until he loses what vision he has remaining, how will the two weather the trials ahead? Where to watch: GMMTV's youtube channel Highlights: slice-of-life storytelling, thoughtful representation of disability, pretty cinematography
twins (2023)
MyDramaList synopsis: It is said that identical twins who are produced from the same egg will share a bond as if they were the same person. But not with "Sprite" and "Zee", the identical twins. Despite following the same route as an athlete from birth, both want to be the only one! *adding more context because this synopsis doesn't really tell you anything: after zee is injured in an attack, sprite must take his place on the volleyball team to maintain his chances of competing in the national competition. there are a few problems with this plan: 1) sprite doesn't know how to play volleyball, 2) sprite still has to attend his own jiu jitsu practices, and 3) everyone on the volleyball team seems to hate him, especially first, his new roommate* Where to watch: i've been using dailymotion, but i hear you can watch it on LoveMedia Thailand's youtube channel using a vpn (others, feel free to comment to confirm/deny this) Highlights: fun premise, focus on sports, enemies to lovers

Sam’s Instagram Story, August 19th 2022
Tumblr media Tumblr media
EXCLUSIVE: In the wake of Sony minting the start of a cinematic franchise in its big-screen take of the PlayStation game Uncharted, which made close to $402M WW, we hear the movie division of its videogame arm, Sony PlayStation Productions, is developing the feature rendition of Days Gone, which Outlander‘s Sam Heughan is circling and Oscar nominated scribe Sheldon Turner is adapting.
The Bend Studios -reated game, which has sold 9M units, is set in the Pacific Northwest after a devastating global pandemic. The game chronicles former motorcycle club member, Deacon St. John, as he fights to survive against the forces of despair and mutated, predatory humans in his quest to find the long lost, presumed dead, love of his life. Heughan will play Deacon St. John. I hear Turner’s script will be a love ballad to motorcycle movies; the bike being Deacon’s sole form of transportation, his horse in this would-be, modern-day western.
Jennifer Klein and Turner are producing through their production company, Vendetta Productions. Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are producing for Sony PlayStation Productions.
Turner shared a Golden Globe screenplay win with Jason Reitman and an Adapted Screenplay Oscar nom for Up in the Air. He has a story by on X-Men: First Class, and wrote Doug Liman’s upcoming Everest, which Klein is also producing. Turner just did a rewrite on Liman’s Road House starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Conor McGregor for Prime Video. Paramount Players recently bought the original pitch Man of War from Turner and Klein. Vendetta is repped by Kevin Marks at Gang Tyre Ramer.
Scottish actor Heughan stars as Jamie Fraser on Starz’s Outlander. He is cast in the upcoming Liman Everest movie and Jim Strouse’s It’s All Coming Back to Me. Heughan’s feature credits include the Kate McKinnon-Mila Kunis comedy The Spy Who Dumped Me and Vin Diesel’s Bloodshot. He is repped by UTA.

More than friends
Fandom: Hazbin Hotel
Relationship: Angel Dust/Husk
Summary:
The fact that Angel was in Hell was a good indication that he wasn't a good person. He didn't think he was a villain, but he was the type of demon who played dirty if it meant opening the eyes to a certain chimera who insisted on saying that they were just friends.
And if Angel had been able to orchestrate Valentino's murder, how difficult would it be to convince Husk that they were meant for each other?
Well, apparently that involved a BDSM club, a motorcycle ride, the Cannibal Colony, and a gingerbread house. Honestly, he hadn't expected that last part.

REVIEWS OF THE WEEK!
Books I’ve read so far in 2022!
Friend me on Goodreads here to follow my more up to date reading journey for the year!
___
241. This is Why They Hate Us by Aaron H. Aceves--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Okay, I wasn't sure what to expect with this one because I went in fully blind, but omg, I LOVED it. It did such a beautiful job of talking about a teen boy's sexual identity and mental health and I think everyone should read it. The last time I felt like this about a book was with DARIUS THE GREAT IS NOT OKAY. Both books deal with complicated feelings toward friends and with the struggle a family faces when they encounter one of their members experiences a mental health crisis. Also, this book was very sex positive (which I think is something that is important because the younger readers who might relate to the MC can see the gay sex or the allusion to it doesn't have to be a taboo subject.) The experiences of this MC can be relatable to many teenagers and I think that this is important, especially because with social media, teens aren't as naive about the topic of sex as they once were. I really, really loved this book and while it had moments that pulled at your heartstrings, it had genuinely funny moments, too. I found myself laughing a few times at the one-liners and the commentary about the people in the MC's life. I highly recommend this one, especially for any teenager that is currently trying to understand their changing lives, sexualities, identities, and mental health.

242. Dragon’s Lair by Chantal Fernando--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Okay, so this book is on the audible plus catalogue and I downloaded it on a whim…holy crap. It wasn’t perfect, but I forgot what trash I was for motorcycle clubs. This is way sexier than it had any right to be and also…listen, I know a lot of people hate the surprise baby trope, but hi, I love it (not a spoiler). I loved seeing the MC come out of her shell as she gained more freedom from the chains of her life before her one night stand. This was quick, dirty, and dangerous. Also, I WILL add that if I ever met this kind of man in real life, I would run the other way. They’re just hot on the page 😉😝
___
243. Arrow’s Hell by Chantal Fernando--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The ANGST. I loved this one because of that forbidden romance feel, the fact that the love interest is processing his grief, and that the MC is a badass who will absolutely not let him get away with his shit. The spice was also…like an arrow to the heart. 😏 Loved this one, even if the men have questionable ways of treating women. Like I said in the last review: never in real life, just in fiction. 💅🏽
___
244. Tracker’s End by Chantal Fernando--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ah, Tracker. The one who was trying to steal our hearts from the very beginning. We could see this couple coming from a mile away, but I love that we actually get to see their growth. I do think that Tracker is probably the most eh guy of the three so far because he IS a reformed super player. (All of them are, but I feel like he was the one who took a while to let that lifestyle go). There’s a particular scene where I was yelling “are you SERIOUS, Tracker?!?” I wanted to slap him. I really liked this MC—especially because of her little secret that slowly starts seeping into her not-so-secret life. That was a fun twist. I also like how possessive she becomes because it goes so against her perceived nature. I want to read the next one but it’s not part of the Audible Plus catalogue 😭
___
245. Son of Elsewhere by Elamin Abdelmahmoud--⭐️⭐️
I have read a few autobiographies this year, so I was excited to read this one—especially because it deals with an immigration experience. Unfortunately, while I enjoyed reading about the jarring realities of being one of the only BIPOC people in a white community and essentially erasing your race so you can fit in, I found that the book as a whole was a bit choppy. I get that this memoir is told in sections, but I think this really hurt the flow of the writing. The going back and forth in the timeline based on the theme of the chapter took me out of the experience many times, often leaving me wishing that we could continue one stream of his life rather than him chopping it up and starting from scratch in the next chapter. The plus side: he sounds and sort of writes like Simu Liu, which was a big plus because I both loved his autobiography and his voice when reading for the audiobook. I’d still recommend this one because the general experience and story is an important one. The style of writing and flow just didn’t match my interests.
___
246. King of Wall Street by Louise Bay--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was in the mood to keep reading another spicy book, so I tried this one and while it wasn’t perfect, it delivered! I love a good smutty book about a single dad resisting that one woman who can change everything for him. I think the female MC was a little chaotic, but I don’t blame her because the male MC needed a little bit of chaos in his life (especially after he was such an asshole to her.) This one didn’t have a lot of depth to it, to be honest, but it’s a fun, quick, and dirty read.
___
247. Key Player by Kelly Yang--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love Kelly Yang's writing. I think her books are incredibly important reads--not just for the younger readers in our world, but also for the adults who need more stories full of lessons that I think everyone should be reminded of every once in a while. I will say that this addition to the series gave me a little bit of anxiety because of the actions of one character and where their arc would go because of said actions. But I also knew that I needed to trust the process because the books in this series never let me down. It's wild to see how far the little family in this series has come! I was so happy for them when they succeeded at what they wanted, and so heartbroken when they weren't able to succeed in their goals. We were also shown how internalized racism can affect us and how grief and the fear of guilt can also change us. I did enjoy that this book focused so much on one particular character and their journey--it made the series feel more well-rounded. If this was the last book in the series, I would be content with that ending. I'll always recommend a Yang book--she's an incredible, empathetic, and gifted author. A definite must-read!
___
248. Just A Bit Twisted by Alessandra Hazard--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Re-read October 2022 This was one of those books that I’ve been craving for the past year or so. Sometimes there are certain books that you just want to re-read and experience the wildness again. Just like the first time I read this, this was addicting and though some aspects of the relationship were a little on the darker side, I was loving it all over again. This series will forever hold a special place in my heart.
__
249. Going Wild by Lisa McMann--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this one, even though it was slightly different than what I was expecting. It reminded me of all the Marvel origin movies I’ve loved because it’s this character actively figurine out what her powers are and the limits she faces in that journey. There was one instance with some new friends that threw me off because it felt random and like it came out of nowhere. But in the end, I loved it because it also gave me Shazam vibes (may be a spoiler if you know Shazam.) Will hopefully read the sequel one day!
___
250. Home Field Advantage by Dahlia Adler--⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this one because it had that classic story of proving everyone wrong. I’m a sucker for characters being seen as weaker when they’re actually one of the best at what they do. And what made that even better? It’s that it’s a girl proving everyone wrong. It was super anxiety-inducing, however, how bad the sexism, misogyny, and bigotry was. I loved the character growth of both the MCs around this, but it was still nerve wracking. Loved the rep of these two girls falling for each other—it’s the classic tale of quarterback and cheerleader and I LOVED it. Will have to keep an eye out for the next title by this author 👀👀

Whumptober 2022 Day 17: Stress Positions
Evil crime empires these days just don't respect all the OVERTIME hours you work trying to take them down.
---
I'm putting him somewhere around 120 kg at somewhat above 2 m of height. Kept thinking about how suspending this much weight from just his wrists would so *seriously* fuck with like. Everything bones, nerves, tissue, blood vessels in that general area. Oh well.
I went in like "oh ‘hanging by a thread' AND ‘stress positions’, gotta do something straining with at least partial suspension", then sketched out the pose and the ABS, which led to me going "... why did I even learn anatomy if I'm always putting clothes on the characters", which THEN made me decide to put him in a crop top and low rise jeans BECAUSE HE JUST WANTED TO GO CLUBBING THANK YOU VERY MUCH aaand now we're here. Fits again into my swirling chaotic AU concept of Cruxis running the cops AND the mob (= the Desians) and the Renegades working tirelessly to free the city? country? world? from their grasp. Oh and Botta rides a motorcycle and is much more openly a Garbage Man Pompous Ass for funsies. And he "gathers intel" on Magnius' scheming by. frequenting the same gay bars as him. Truly hard, thankless work around the clock.
I imagine him after the fact, with some Renegade OC of mine or something, and the other character being like "... aren't you cold? Did they take the rest of your clothes?? It's October omfg. D:" To which Botta can dramatically and indignantly go "I was trying to get laid, but you can't have SHIT in this godforsaken city!! Dx" (Because if you can still act all offended, surely you haven't really been hurt and you haven't been scared and you don't feel like shit and also nothing anyone could do to you can even scratch the surface because you're just THAT much of a strong, amazing, perfectly stable and reliable guy..............)
