i. dear reader, sometimes you will be stuck in this dark, purgatory like place in your life. its gonna happen a lot, and its gonna happen more than that because of the blood that runs in you.

ii. poetry, poetry just flows from me now. thats what sadness does to you, it makes you pretty, it makes you flawed, it makes you desperate to survive. maybe i deserved better, maybe i didnt. we’ll never know, because i got it anyway. this is what i have now. my weight and my hands. dont know how to live with either.

iii. remember being a child? and thinking, im going to make myself proud one day. poetry has been building inside you since that day. you carried it in every assignment you made, every test you submitted. and the adults around you thought you were the prettiest thing. sadness makes people pretty, thats why my parents make sure im perpetually sad. its nice to look at. nice to be around. because its evidence of life. i was alive and in making sure i was, they were alive as well.

iv. babies, they cry when they are born dont they? the miracle of life is carried in our tears then. every time we cry, we’re reminding ourselves what it felt to be alive on that very first day. the skies cry too, i dont know why this is important. but it is.

v. it always rains for the first time on the day i was born. divine intervention. every drop on my pretty face says, dont cry today my love. let me do it for you. let me bear the burden of your existence this one day. and i let it. then i go back home and im pretty again, poetry flows from the cracks in my existence.

vii. i dont think people are meant to live like that. letting pieces of their soul slip with every step they take. but they do. we all do.

—written as a journal entry (which quickly turned into a letter for my father) post-breakdown, after a year of staying mostly sane.

I know this poem might seem to be saying that sadness makes you beautiful but please try to understand that what I'm really trying to say is my sadness makes me alive. When I say pretty, I don't mean my physical appearance, I mean the prettiness that comes out of the realisation of your humane flaws and short comings.

Absolutely love the idea that it was April who got the boys super into snow days.

Like, pre-April, they probably would view the days as miserable, since as turtles they’re likely more susceptible to the cold and back then they probably had much less to keep warm with.

The cold altogether was just never good to them - and then April comes around and teaches them how to make a snowman. And when it’s done, she pelts them with snowballs. And suddenly, the cold is now fun, and they might still be shivering, but now they’re smiling too.

Had a dream that Hollow Knight got adapted to be a live action puppet show displayed at a mall- it got kind of adapted to be more child-friendly via giving the npcs more comedic dialogue and adding in a couple more living vessel characters for spice (one from Greenpath, one from the Queen's Gardens), and Ghost was kind of roughly built in that they were a very boxy-looking handpuppet with what appeared to be a 6-pack (which I thiink were chitin plates?), but Hollow's puppet was 7 feet tall and made of wicker + bound fabric strips and was GORGEOUS. They kind of did a split episode preformance thing where Ghost's plight and Hollow's backstory were played in alternating 10-15 minute scenes on an open stage, and all the Vessel's thoughts/dialogue were done by body language or other characters saying what they were feeling for them. Rlly cool and I wish I wasn't rudely awakened for work so that I could see more of it

#they also added a rat as a comedic side character which I wasn't fond of but meh #hollow was like a marionette but with limbs moved on sticks by like 3 people #the gods were heavily implied via shining lights and character dialogue but never made a direct appearance #p. sick #hollow knight

The thing I've learned about being on testosterone that was difficult is that if I want to see the full extent of fat and muscle changes, I've got to eat well and often. I'm still not good at doing that, but it's so good seeing my work and care play an effect into the way my body is changing. It's about the food, but most of all, it's about the care, and I think that's a valuable lesson I will always appreciate. To anybody who is transitioning: it's about the care, it's about the food, and that is neutral at worst. You deserve nourishment and care and love and respect, especially when that care and love and respect is coming directly from you💛
