Hey loving the updates and the fic you’ve put out so I don’t want this to sound mean, but I feel like saying that Joe is “living off his ex’s talent” is a bit unfair. Obviously Taylor is the main force behind the songs he’s contributed on but in Taylor’s own words Joe did come up with a major part of those songs (like betty and evermore). And while I’m as Tayvis pilled as anyone here I do think Joe deserves credit when it’s due and deserves to be paid for it, and I would say calling that “living off of Taylor’s talent” is a little unfair.

I don’t want this to sound like a hate comment because it isn’t, I really enjoy your work, just I don’t that comment rubbed me the wrong way though you are allowed to have your own opinion of course, I just think it’s a bit unkind.

Hey anon you’re totally entitled to your opinion, but I do stand behind mine. I don’t believe Joe deserves all of the credit she gave him & I elaborated on this before. At the end of the day, he didn’t support Taylor in her career neither did he have a single nice thing to say about her in public. He came up with a rhyme or two which was only ever gonna become a penny making song because of Taylor’s popularity, talent, hard work and dedication for years! Do you really think that him playing around on the piano, making up a few lyrics would have ever received the recognition or monetary compensation if it hadn’t been for Taylor? Her folklore/evermore/midnights album concepts? Her entire… career? He wouldn’t be able to earn a single penny from those lyrics if it hadn’t been for him dating a superstar. So no, I don’t think he deserves to get paid for the rest of his life for these songs. And in response to my comment being “unkind” 🙃 let’s wait for April 19th to hear about how “unkind” this idiot has been

1. I really want so many tattoos. Like, gimme a full sleeve, put them everywhere. But I'm a wimpy wuss who is afraid of pain, so I have none. :(

2. I can sing and have a great ear, but I can't play any instruments. I used to be a soprano when I was young, but years of smoking and neglect have turned me into an alto at best, maybe a contralto. My voice is weak too, I need to strengthen it. Though last weekend I got drunk and belted Can You Hear the People Sing from Les Mis at karaoke and my soprano came out and surprised everyone (including myself). It felt so nice to have it back for a moment.

3. I have been married for several years but we choose to remain childless. We have two cats and a doggo and that suits us perfectly.

4. I quit smoking nearly two years ago, but still desperately want to smoke.

5. I work for a non-profit charity in the public affairs department. I lobby politicians for progressive causes, draft and edit press releases and fundraising mailings, help organize events, and things of that sort. If you follow me on main, you'll see me occasionally yelling about republicans (sorry about that).

6. I love writing. I think I'm pretty good at it, been at it for decades. But this fandom is already full of so many great writers I'm afraid to really dive in.

7. Meat and potatoes is my favorite kind of dish (give me gravy). Next would be Italian dishes and pan-Asian cuisine (noooodles!), Mexican food, and anything covered with cheese. Or just cheese. I will devour a whole block of cheddar.

8. Hubby and I like to hike. There are a lot of mountains not far from where I live and we are trying to climb basically all of them. Nature is my happy place. We hike all year except for when it's really hot (then I swim and kayak instead) and winter hiking is amazing.

9. I am a summer child and truly love to swim and play in the warm weather, but I also go bonkers for autumn and halloween.

10. I am an atheist but I love mythology. I'm also a huge history buff and considered pursuing it professionally before I got into lobbying and politics.

Listening to a song that truly snaps. Crank it up and dance around; who cares if anyone can see. Do your little bops and boops and be unafraid, for therein lies joy.

A good cuddle from a fur baby. I don't have human children so I can't cite that as a source of joy, but I find furry snuggles incredibly fulfilling.

Eating good food with good company. It doesn't matter if it's a pub, posh digs, or just a friends house (or mine). It's the company that matters.

When people make supportive comments on my fics. All the other writers here know that it's quite the dopamine rush. It's no joke. Don't hold back the positive comments!
