bonus fact: princess pear is spoofing off her name and the translation of princess peach (피치공주), who is yunha's main/ favorite character in mario kart! as for the name thing, yunha's last name doesn't mean pear, but the word for pear is pronounced and spelled the same exact way as her last name (배). so,,, the nickname is kind of princess bae, as in princess bae yunha, but it's also princess pear at the same time lol

RANDOM FACT: she has an uncanny ability to solve puzzles! she's the girlie you give the "solve the maze without lifting your pen off the paper" challenges, and she's proud to say she has never looked up a walkthrough for games like portal or the stone matching mini-games in skyrim 👑 part of the magic is definitely stubbornness btw. she will stare at the puzzle until it's either solved or the universe decays into oblivion, one or the other! she is otherwise not competitive, though; that attitude is quite literally reserved only for puzzles

Thinking of the broken plate trope today 🥰😌 Josh accidentally smashing something, and within seconds he's crumbled to the floor, inconsolable. Sobbing, cowering and frantically apologising over and over. Terrified of how Felix will react.

It would totally depend on what kind of day Felix is having. If he's in a chipper mood, he'd cradle Josh and tell him that his reaction breaks his heart and he has nothing to be scared of. If he's in a grouchy mood...Josh will be in for it 🙈

may i ask, what drew your attention to shannon? she seems to be a pivotal piece in a lot of your writing.

the show opens. we are introduced to a girl who is dead and about to live. we are introduced to a woman who is alive and about to die. we are introduced to a narrative built upon the gaping wounds left in their backs.

we spend a season being haunted by her. and then another. our introduction to all these characters is grounded in their responses to her death, the way it turns them into shrapnel, sprays them far and wide.

this woman who lilith envied and admired and regretted. who beatrice loved, too. who suzanne thought was the best of them.

who mary is never truly able to put down.

ava's introduction to mary coming not in vincent's office, but standing in the room of the women whose life is consuming her. whose life she is consuming. mary unburdened, a woman who meant so much to the last halo bearer that a photo of the pair of them sits in pride of place on her desk.

the conscious choice to give shannon a polearm, to mirror beatrice's bō.

most of all, it's the haunting that draws me to shannon, to mary and shannon. the cataclysm of her death. the grief, and loss, and how it manifests in other characters. what it tells us about them. the story being one of her absence, of the shapes others must become to fill the void left by her death.

and then I really enjoy the challenge of it, of taking all those tidbits we get, the repeated patterns of behaviour, the one-off lines, the contents of her bedroom, and reverse-engineering them. distilling from them a more fully-fleshed out interpretation of her character. building character interactions on that pillar of backstory and characterization and expanding on them and investigating the shape of the hole her death made in the narrative
