I have decided I want to be a main character written by Ali Hazelwood- smart, PhD-having boss bitch women who have very grandma-core hobbies and end up with the hottest nerds on the planet!! That’s the dream package!!

New Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreons for August! Featuring Olive and Adam from the Love Hypothesis! I’m so in love with the cover for this book, I couldn’t help pulling from it to stylize the background for this one - super fun!

I'm rereading The Love Hypothesis now, and after reading Ch16 I obviously had to go to Adam's POV in that chapter and that mentions Jack and George from Love, theoretically. Ali Hazelwood is a mastermind.

On Today’s Episode of “What is Lizzy Reading?”
I am currently reading my first ever true romance book. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood.
First of all, the characters on the cover are 100% Rey and Kylo from Star Wars. Second, I am annotating this book and LIVING for every minute of it. For example: this gem.
Followed by my sticky note.

Olive: Come on Adam, I wasn't that drunk!
Adam: You tried to colour my face with a highlighter because you said I was important.
Olive: *tearing up* But you are.

So I've read three of Ali Hazelwood's novels and realized that there's a pattern in how she wrote the leading man in her stories:
Wears Henley shirts
Acts like an ass but there's a "perfectly reasonable” excuse
Has a huge house/loft/bachelor pad for himself
Family's pretty much non-existent
Has huge hands that are always ready to catch the female lead
Well-built frame and abs that reveal themselves during sexy time
Has a big thing but advises that the female lead can "take it"
Same lines during cheesy and spicy chapters (and techniques 😳)
Willing to give anything (everything he has, celestial bodies, whatever she wants...)
I can practically make a bingo card but then again, no matter how familiar and predictable reading these novels were, they were a nice break to all the sad ones I've read recently.
P.S. Is this possibly a type? 🤭
