HII!! I absolutely ADORE your writing!! Could you please write a jellyfish!reader x helluva boss (mainly Stolas, Blitzø, Ozzie and Fizzy but if you want to add more characters that’s fine!!)
like a reader who’s whole colour palette is blue, purple and pink which contracts the red, black and white vibe in hell and is UNDENIABLY beautiful. Like, reader is absolutely ethereal and has the jellyfish haircut!! The reader COULD rival an overlord (maybe a sin if they made deals with others!!) with their strength and the fact they could electrify, shock and sting others- the fact they’re so CALM yet so elegant is an understatement. They rarely get mad or upset and when they do, it’s so passive aggressive that its just the slight insults, leaving out the person or just harming them straight away. Btw reader would be able to glow in the dark, doesn’t have a brain but is EXTREMELY intelligent (could be immortal as some jellyfish are), doesn’t feel pain, no heart (bones or blood) and is just made of 95% water YET looks so human-like and beautiful (has the human body yet no organs etc. think of a mirage, an illusion. They are demon(human) like, they have a body but it’s completely water. Not that you could tell. Their skin is pale, almost white, they’re almost ghostly yet so beautifully created. I don’t think jellyfish can sleep either and I’d like to think that jellyfish!reader died in the water while observing jellyfish, they were so SO obsessed with jellyfish yet they died by one and I’d also like to think they would have some sort of power with water, due to the fact they’re mainly water (and electricity, poison).
How would they react to jellyfish!reader?
Don'tcha know? Jellyfish are brainless.

Pairing: Stolas, Blitzø, Asmodeus, Fizzarolli x GN! Jellyfish! Reader
Warnings: None I think, mostly platonic!

Stolas thinks you look extremely cool. Lets say he saw you on one of his outings. You immediately catch his eye because of your practically see-through body. He had never seen a Sinner look like you before. Of course he has a book about jellyfish in his collection though. So he already knows a lot about them. But he'll ask you a bunch of questions and write them in a little notebook. He finds it quite interesting that you don't have a brain, but are completely capable of functioning. Though, if he really thinks about it, if you did have a brain it would just be floating around. Which would probably be very strange.
Blitzø thinks you look badass. You were one of his clients when you met. He was enthralled by your jellyfish look and your need to take revenge on the living world. Lets just say, the two of you hit it off. He might even ask you to work for I.M.P as like his assistant or something. He'll ask you a ton of questions, most of them revolving around sex... He doesn't realize you don't sleep until you stayed in the office for a full 24 hours. He then felt stupid for not taking that into consideration. Basically, you make him feel stupid because you don't have a brain, but you're smarter than him.
Asmodeus thinks you look adorable. The first time you guys met, he assumed you were from the Envy ring and was just visiting the Pride ring like him. But he was wrong, very, very wrong. To find out you were a sinner was a shock to him. Like jaw on the floor type shocked. Will buy you jellyfish themed things when he finds out you love jellyfish. Maybe he'll even get you a pet jellyfish. His trips to the Pride ring become more frequent, just to see you. When you tell him you died looking at jellyfish, he's surprised once again. Considering they were your cause of death, your love for them didn't waver.
Fizzarolli thinks you look amazing in every way. You first met at one of his shows in the Pride ring. You caught his eye with your jelly-watery body. He probably points it out during the show, mentioning how cool you looked. You were a bit shy to be the center of attention, but you still decided to come up with him after the show. You two make jokes and laugh until someone else comes up for an autograph. Years later, you meet again. And he's just as mesmerized as the day you met. He wants to know everything about you. So expect a ton of questions heading your way.

Congrats for the 450 :)
May I request Idia x reader, in which Idia confesses his feelings for the reader and maybe some of the crushing process?
Fluff ❤️
Thank you anon! I couldn’t have gotten here without your support! Also, thank you for reminding me how much I love shy guys like Idia.
First of all, Idia is terrible at reading signals. You could be sitting on his lap hand feeding him grapes like a Roman emperor, and he’ll still assume it’s just a ‘friendly’ action. He is so deep in his pit of self loathing, that he thinks you’re incomprehensibly out of his league.
🫐 Idia would only ask you out with help from his brother, who would go along and survey you about your desired traits in a partner. He would then make several attempts to invite you to his room when you’re done with whatever tasks you have for the day.
🫐 While he had a whole complicated speech planned out, his courage falters when he sees you. Idia stumbles over his planned words as he hands you a bowl of carefully plucked pomegranate seeds.
“I hope-um- if you have the time-maybe we could watch a movie together?”

Hi! I love your stories😍🔥
I hope that i will be transformed by you too! I want to be totally humiliated: be super obese, have smallest d*ck, become super stinky and hairy, constantly oinking pig!
I want your every humiliating idea to become my reality!
Maybe i will find myself stuck in chastity, maybe i will become addicted of serving sweaty feet… It's up to you to decide, cause you're a demon!
Oh I’m a demon huh? Well since you have given me such a great compliment I can only be so kind as to return the favor. It sounds like you read about max. And that other man who wished to be like him? But it sounds like you want worse. Much much worse. You’re already disgusting from the sound of it. Looking down at your phone you feel the rumble from your stomach that you have been begging to have for so long. A rumble that I have made sure will never go away. The pains of hunger. Your body begins to gain fat at a rapid pace you arms filling wil jelly as your stomach blows out into a huge massive sphere. Like a permanent table that for you eat on. And you chin multiplies as you grow two thick fat rolls on your neck. But you said you want to be hairy? Done. You start to itch on you back as the hairy begins to coat your once smooth skin and it wraps around your body on you fat boobs and you massive gut. Working its way down your legs. But yet this still isn’t enough ? Didn’t you say. Oinking ? Done. You’ll no longer speak even. Only oinking like the fat hog you are. In fact. I think it’s time for you gain even more weight ! Instantly you stomach begins to jiggle as another 20 pounds of permanent fat build into you already large rotund frame! You need to sweat more now. Make you really disgusting and animal like the pig you are. You squee like the pig as you start to have fat sweaty needs drip from you tits and down your back. And didn’t you say you never you want to see your cock again? Alright. You’re going to have a fat pad big enough to swallow the whole thing ! 10 pounds of sat gain there should do the trick! See. Now I can’t even see it !! Your legs begin to wobble as your weight is so intense and you are so heavy. It’s ok. Time for another…50!! Instantly you gut and boobs get bigger. You arms. Jigglier and you legs ever heavier and you fall to the floor with a loud thud! I’m surprised you didn’t put a dent in the floor. Now at a massive 450. But you wanted to be large right ? How about this. You’re going to gain another 50 pounds of permanent weight. Then. Every pound after that you gain will be permanent. But that will be your doing. Or is it me ? I can’t remember since you going to be forced to eat all the time will appetite. Oh and everything you eat obviously make you gain weight. Try to not eat ? Instant weight gain as punishment. You wanted a demon curse. You got it pig boy now oink!

Working at a well known cafe was hard work, tons of people walking in and out without a care of their dirty shoes or the fact there dropping crumbs on the floor. You had to suck it up just so you could help pay. You took as many shifts as possible, while balancing school, chores and studying all at the same time. You only manage to get by with your adoring boyfriend, Shoji. Shoji and you were an easygoing and ideal couple. Always loving to one another and always hung out whenever possible. Although you hated when some stranger would make fun of Shoji or calling him a monster. He said it was okay and he was use to it but you hated it. No one should ever go through that.
So on on one particularly stressful shift when he came by to give you some chocolate when he came to pick you up. You didnt show your disgust when some self obsessed loser commented on Shoji saying
“What type of person would date that thing? He Looks atrocious!”
When you looked over at Shoji, he even looked upset at that. But he tried hiding it with a smile. Oh, they were gonna get it. People messed with him for way too long and this time was the final straw.
“At least he isn’t ugly like your attitude” you mumbled loud enough for them to hear it.
“Excuse me?” They says turning her head to you like you killed their whole family.
“Wow are you death too?” You say sarcastically as you roll your eyes.
“I have never seen such rude behaviour!”
At this point Shoji was trying to calm you down, saying he didnt care. But you did. You cared.
“Listen here you arrogant bastard, Shoji is the kindest person you’ll ever meet! But of course you can’t comprehend that.” Get up from your spot, ready to beat some sense into them but before you could get anything else out, Shoji held your hand and covered your mouth before dragging you out.
“Y/n! Why did you do that!” He says as he calmed you down.
“Its not fair that you keep getting judged by some people who have nothing better to do. I just wanted to help you…” you say innocently as you pout at him. He couldn’t not give you a hug.
“Y/n. I love you so much. But maybe just be a little nicer.” He says as he kissed you. “Let’s go home now. Your favourite show’s about to start.”
“Oh yeah! We have to hurry!” Shoji picked you up, putting you over his shoulder making a little portable tent (like he did at the sports festival with mineta and tsu) and took carried you home, as he kept on reminding you how much you meant to him.

Hard-Headedness
The background Bicycle Helmet discourse that seems to have become a thing over the last week would be a lot less annoying if anyone would, at any point, involve a number in their argument.
Is riding bicycles dangerous? Sure, for a definition of 'dangerous'. The Netherlands, promised land of bicyclists, has a cyclist fatality rate of about 12 per billion miles traveled, and a serious injury rate of 450 per billion miles (link).
Helmets seem to knock down the risk of death or serious injury by about a third, which is a significant result! Like, obviously they work, I don't think anyone is disputing this, but it's still good to note.
And maybe that's enough. Wearing a helmet will reduce your expected fatality rate from 12 per billion miles to 8 per billion miles, and the expected rate of serious injury from 450 to 300 per billion miles. Not the biggest impact on net, but a very solid reason if you're making decisions based on pure safety.
But I think this is the point where we admit that pure safety isn't a part of those discussions normally, and for some reason this time it is. Nobody is saying pedestrians ought to be wearing helmets, even though pedestrians have about the same rate of traffic fatalities and could probably reduce that rate by a double-digit percentage if they habitually deck themselves out in protective gear. Motorcyclists are in even more danger, and their safety would skyrocket if they switched en masse to cars; few seem to think they should.
(and before you say the counterargument in the second case is that motorcycles pollute less than one-occupant cars: they expel less CO2 but much more of other pollutants, owing to the inability to fit bulky catalytic convertors or other filter equipment)
Look, if someone says "I ride a motorcycle or a moped instead of driving, because I think it is easier to park" that seems to get accepted without question. If someone says "I ride a bike but do not wear a helmet, because I cannot easily store it at the places I cycle to" or "Wearing a helmet makes me overheat", why is that, suddenly, fair game for criticism, when its impact on expected death/injury risk is far smaller than the other two examples?
(uncharitably: because now we are talking about the sort of tradeoff that americans specifically tend not to make, with the actual cost/benefit of those tradeoffs not factoring anywhere)
There is obviously some kind of boundary where your Personal Safety Decisions have such a blatantly skewed cost/benefit that enforcing them via basic social pressure becomes justified (seatbelts fall in this category imo, but even incredibly effective medications don't always seem to, suggesting the bar is quite high!).
But bicycle helmets are a less impactful choice than a ton of stuff that people on here don't seem to care about at all, which leaves the whole discourse little but an extended exercise in americans dunking on dutch people for differences in social norms (even when one of those norms is, objectively, safer!). Like, are we really going to pretend the initiating thread is motivated by love for truth and a genuine concern for the cranial health of the dutch?
For what it's worth, I myself was very firmly convinced helmets weren't really worth it when I started writing this post, and after running the numbers I do think I should wear one if storage facilities at my destination permit so. No thanks to the people supposedly arguing for that outcome, of course.

Grailfinders #328: Mysterious Ranmaru X
Tumblr media
today on Grailfinders, we’re combining gudaguda and the servantverse into one dangerous Mysterious Ranmaru X-shaped cocktail. she’s an Echo Knight to sword while you sword, and an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer to get some cool servantverse tech and a sword to ride around on.
check out her build breakdown below the cut, or aer character sheet over here!
next up: how to marry your dragon
Race and Background
for once we can ignore the “yeah they’re technically magical copies now but they used to be human” thing we deal with with every other servant since MRX comes from the Servantverse, meaning she’s 100% not a human at all! they’re from space, and xe has PTSD from Nobu’s actual death, which would make her at least 450 years old, so calling him an Astral Elf isn’t too far off. you kind of live forever, but more importantly for gameplay you learn Dancing Lights which uses your Charisma, you have Darkvision, Fey Ancestry, which helps against being charmed, Perception proficiency, a bonus action teleport thanks to Starlight Step for sick swordboarding moves, and you can fall into an Astral Trance instead of sleeping. it’s like normal trance, but you get a proficiency for the day when you do it. all that, plus you get +2 Dexterity and +1 Charisma!
also, you’re a Far Traveler (space edition), giving you proficiency in Insight and Arcana.
Ability Scores
first, Charisma. advanced sci-fi tech is normally intelligence, but servantverse stuff is just based on what sounds cool at the moment. like literally, the whole universe has seasons and episodes, their tech might literally run on phlebotinum. second highest is Dexterity. balancing on a literal sword’s edge is hard, let alone one that can fly. also, I hate to bring this up every time, but you don’t wear armor. third is Constitution. you don’t seem particularly tough, but you’re good at saving against flashbangs, and that’s usually constitution. your Intelligence is a bit lower than I’d like. yeah, you’re goofy, but you’re “hyper-advanced sci-fi universe” goofy. this means your Strength is only average. B rank strength is great, but it’s hard to get leverage while you’re floating, y’know? that means we’re dumping Wisdom. not only are you a gudaguda, but you literally half-blind yourself at all times.
Class Levels
1. Fighter 1: starting off, you’re a fighter. you have the eye of a ranmaru! this means in addition to rising up straight to the top, you can use a Second Wind once a short rest to regain some HP as a bonus action. you also get a Fighting Style, and Blind Fighting lets you get away with wearing an eyepatch in a combat zone. now you’re always aware of any unseen creatures within 10’ of you unless they’re hiding. I assume this is also why you were able to lead Guda out of the flashbang with no issue, but maybe that’s why you have an eyepatch?
you also get proficiency in Strength and Constitution saves, as well as Acrobatics and Athletics. being a 16th century warlord is a pretty physical job! and so is being a ranmaru, I assume.
2. Fighter 2: second level fighters get an Action Surge, so now you can make two actions in a turn once a short rest. now you can sword while you sword!
3. Fighter 3: I thought a lot about how to make it so you can attack from multiple angles at once, and also how to make a flying sword, and eventually I decided to keep things simple and go Kuroko mode with the Echo Knight. you can send your longsword off to stab people when you Manifest Echo, but it can only take one point of damage before coming back to you. that being said, there’s no limit to how many times you can send it out, so it’s no big loss. while it’s out and about, you can  Unleash Incarnation Constitution Modifier times a day to attack an extra time as an attack action, as long as said attack is from the spot of your echo.
4. Fighter 4: fourth level fighters get their first Ability Score Improvement. Improve your Dexterity, and you’ll get hit less and do hit more! win/win!
5. Fighter 5: fifth level fighters get an Extra Attack every attack action, so now you can attack up to five times in a turn, using your action surge and unleash incarnation. that’s not quite the macross missile massacre you use in your NP, but it’s respectable!
6. Fighter 6: our last level of fighter is another ASI, this one to bump up your Charisma.
7. Sorcerer 1: you’ve got a floating sword, now you just need eye lasers, an NP, and the ability to ride it. and for that reason, we’re turning to spellcasting once again. as an Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, you get Spells you can cast with Charisma, but some of them are also Psionic Spells. these are bonus spells, and while we don’t use them too often, I’ll bring them up if they’re in-character. you can also replace the ones you don’t like with other divination or enchantment spells.
finally, you get some futuristic walkie-talkies via Telepathic Speech. mark someone nearby, and then you can speak to each other in your minds up to four miles away, and it lasts for a number of minutes equal to your sorcerer level, or if you hand a commlink to another person.
but, you still get spells normally, and those we can choose. grab Booming Blade and Sword Burst to space up your swordplay, Message for another walkie-talkie, Friends to be ranmaru-shaped, and Feather Fall because you’re already floating. finally, you get Ray of Sickness for your very first eyebeam! it’s not super strong, but it’s a start!
8. Sorcerer 2: second level sorcerers become a Font of Magic, giving you Sorcery Points that you can turn into spell slots and vice-versa. just know that you don’t get as many points from destroying slots as you need to make them, so right now this pretty much just gives you an extra slot to cast something like Magic Missile. while this fits the aesthetic of your NP, it’s not nearly the right power level yet, but again- it’s a start.
9. Sorcerer 3: third level sorcerers get Metamagic, two ways of spending sorcery points to add some flair to your spells. or remove it, in the case of Subtle Spells. with that, you can remove all external tells of magic- no verbal or somatic components, and you just need to have the materials on you to cast it. you can also use Extended Spells, doubling the duration of a spell for ease of use.
spells like Calm Emotions from your psionics to get in good with the ruling class, or Warp Sense. despite sounding like something that happens every gudaguda, this spell just lets you sense nearby portals. getting you out of the multiverse is a long-term goal, but finding a portal lying around would speed things up a lot!
10. Sorcerer 4: Fourth level sorcerers get their own ASI, and grabbing a feat like Telekinetic is cool. while you can’t attack easily this way, it does give you access to mage hand, so at least you can start lifting your sword yourself.
you can also cast Air Bubble now. it might be jumping the gun, but riding through space on a sword probably isn’t easy for people that need to. you know, breathe. now you don’t have to worry about that.
11. Sorcerer 5: fifth level sorcerers get Magical Guidance, letting you spend a sorcery point to get advantage on any skill check. but I’d rather spend points casting Melf’s Minute Meteors, which creates a bunch of swords that float around you, and every turn you can fire a few off to explode your enemies. still a bit slower than I’d want for your NP, but it’s getting there!
(also your psionic spell Sending is pretty good. it’s basically another walkie-talkie)
12. Sorcerer 6: sixth level aberrant mind sorcerers have Psionic Sorcery- now whenever you cast a psionic spell you can either cast it with a spell slot as normal or by spending sorcery points, with the latter removing all components for the spell as long as they aren’t consumed. you also have Psychic Defenses, giving you resistance to psychic damage and being frightened.
there’s not much else we want at level three, but we can still go back and grab a spell we missed. Alter Self is what makes a ranmaru a ranmaru, letting you change gender pretty much whenever you want.
13. Sorcerer 7: seventh level sorcerers get fourth level spells like Confusion! that one’s practically not even magic, it’s just the general effect gudaguda tends to have on people. if you hang on to nobu’s head you can also make mini nobus with Summon Aberration.
14. Sorcerer 8: eighth level sorcerers get another ASI, and this one makes you a Scion of Elemental Air. with this, you can cast Minor Illusion using your charisma for a hologram, but more importantly you can use the Wind’s Glide to fly for a turn. you’re a little shaky, but you’re finally riding your sword! you can use this ability proficiency times a day.
you also gain access to your penultimate eyebeam, Raulothim’s Psychic Lance! with this, you can target a creature you can see, or even one you can name within range- this forces an intelligence save, and if they fail they take psychic damage and become incapacitated for a round.
15. Sorcerer 9: ninth level sorcerers get fifth level spells, and for once we like everything we have- Rary’s Telepathic Bond is basically a group chat, and Telekinesis lets you lift up a sword with you on it. alternatively, you can use our chosen spell Freedom of the Winds to fly instead. with this you gain a flying speed of 60’, and you have advantage against being grappled, restrained, or paralyzed. you’re one of the few servants that can properly take on Tlaloc, and this is why.  also, you can end the spell early by using it to teleport out of the way of an attack.
16. Sorcerer 10: there’s one last thing we need for this build to be complete- a way to get to the regular world. to train up to that, grab Far Step for some teleportation for up to a minute. you can also cast Distant spells to double their range, though that doesn’t help here.
17. Sorcerer 11: okay, I lied- one more eyebeam. I mean can you blame me? Disintegrate is pretty cool! it deals a ton of damage if it hits, and can instakill anything knocked out by it in a way that makes resurrection pretty hard to do.
18. Sorcerer 12: with this last ASI, you can round up your Constitution for more HP and unleashed incarnations and your Charisma for stronger spells.
19. Sorcerer 13: finally, with seventh level spell slots in hand, you can Plane Shift to go join your master in the regular world. I mean, right now it’s just a cue ball, but it’ll be regular eventually. probably.
20. Sorcerer 14: there is one more way to ride a sword I wanted to grab- the spells and feats are cool, but they lack longevity. once you learn the Revelation in Flesh, you can fly to your heart’s content! by spending a sorcery point as a bonus action, you can fly and hover for ten minutes at a time. you can spend more points for more bonuses, but those aren’t in character. I’m pretty sure, at least. I don’t remember ranmaru becoming a slime monster at any point.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
being able to fly is always huge when it comes to avoiding damage, especially when you’re playing a character with ranged attack options. flight completely negates the threat of a lot of enemies, and seriously reduces the danger of many more.
you have access to all sorts of instant communication options that work over extreme distances- being in contact with whoever just ran off and split the party can be super helpful! and when they inevitably die it’s entertaining as well!
you also come packing a lot of way to ignore or resist common debuffs used to neutralize casters. silence doesn’t matter because you have subtle spell. paralysis doesn’t matter for the same reason, taking all your gear won’t stop you because you have psionic spells, etc. the point is, if you want to cast something, it’s not easy to stop you from doing it.
Cons:
all sorcerers burn through sorcery points fast, but you’re burning the candle at both ends- you’ve got metamagic, sure, but you’re also eating most of your points in one go every time you use psionic spells. while you can cast anything anywhere, it’s best to practice discretion.
you also use a Sword, which negates your flight since you’ll have to enter melee range to do most of your damage.
you use your bonus action both for a ton of spells and to summon your echo knight, which dies real damn fast. that means you’ll often have to choose between using the spell you spend a high level slot on or keeping your distraction alive, and having to choose between features isn’t that fun.

Review: Avatar: The Last Airbender Live Action
Tumblr media
First, some context: I started watching A:TLA when book 2 was airing. Since then, I watched it at least 10 times. Half of it in German and half of it in English. The last time was in 2020. I know a lot of lines by heart—yes in both languages. Zuko was my fist teenage crush and Oncle Iroh’s quotes helped my through a lot of dark times in my life. I might be biased because I love the original series a lot. But I try to reason everything carefully.
The Good
I loved it visually! Bending looked so cool and never felt out of place or weird. All of the shown places could be recognized in a blink. It was beautiful to see this world adapted in a realistic way.
The casting was mostly done perfect. A lot of the characters looked a lot like I would have imagine them.
The Kiyoshi Warriors were really awesome. Especially Suki—even though she didn’t got a name at all?!
I loved the addition with the 41st devision. It gave Zuko‘s crew actually a reason the respect him and fitted to his character and backstory.
Zuko and Iroh give the same energy as in the original. Usually this wouldn’t be something to mention, since I would expect this from and adaption. But due to issues you can read further below, I have to mention it. Zuko and Iroh might be one of the few characters that never felt out of character. I’m happy we got those two true to original at least.
Tumblr media
The Bad
Since there is so much, I structure it even further into story, production and costumes.
Story:
I didn’t liked any of the story changes. I don’t even understand why they had to tangle all the storylines. The original book 1 is 20 episodes each about 20-25 minutes—which results in 400-500 minutes in total. The live action had 8 episodes each about 45 minutes to an hour—let’s say about 400-450 minutes in total. So basically, they could have taken the timeline as is is. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t advocate for a 1:1 adaption here. I just don’t get why they saw the need to tangle storylines, pull in things from later seasons and leave out important scenes, places, character traits and even whole characters. Each and every story change felt out of place, out of character and over all pointless. Nothing added anything that made sense. Just like it was changed because they had to change something.
Tumblr media
Aang didn’t even learn water bending!!! Like what is the whole season even about if the main character doesn’t have a real character arc? All he does is having guilt over disappearing for 100 years. Yes that’s also a thing he has to overcome. But it is just half of it. And he even doesn’t really get over it. He has none of his childish fun moments like he does in the original.
Why did Sokka have SOOO much screen time?!?! Sometimes it felt like he‘s the protagonist of the series. Especially with Aang not even learning water bending.
Momo in contrast had like 0 screen time. But than in the last episode when he became important as plot device Sokka was weirdly attached to him.
Katara being her own master made it pointless to actually go to the northern water tribe. Yes there was Aang's vision. But in the original the plot is not mainly driven by what the fire nation does, but by what team avatar needs to do. Like… Aang learning bending!!!
Tumblr media
We didn’t get the epic intro we could have. It felt like they tried to make up for it in the first episode. But having three different versions of the epic lines and finally Gran Gran dropping the original ones was actually the worst. It felt forced and as if she would read them out.
Everything regarding Azula was sooo off for me. She felt like a completely different character with other motivations and struggles. I wish she would not have been so present in the first season.
Uncle Iroh drank not enough tea. Lol. This is maybe a personal one and I cannot reason it to be honest.
Tumblr media
I‘m disappointed by the Lu Ten moment. Fist of all, why did it need to be in season one?! But also: It was a bonding moment for Zuko and Iroh. It didn’t payed any respect for Lu Ten in my opinion. And leaves from the wine was barely noticeable and didn’t make feel anything.
Katara never lost her necklace. Which I don’t mind. But it made a huge plot hole for the headhunter Zuko hired. They tried to cover it with randomly finding a piece of fabric. But how did they know this belonged to the Avatar? This change feels similar to the one with the water bending scroll. Important things just become meaningless.
Agni Kai was once mentioned but never explained. If I didn’t know what an Agni Kai is from the original series, this would probably be either the most missed or confusing thing.
Tumblr media
Hei Bai was never healed!!! Yeah sure, Aang saved the villagers. But what about the forest and spirit?! And why was there no winter solstice? And in general why did everything in the spirit world was so all over the place?
The siege of the Nothern water tribe being a distraction for Omashu is stupid. It would take them way too long to hear about it. So they would not be able to send troops there by time and it would not weaken them in any way.
Tumblr media
The world feels super flat and boring. Because they tangled so many story lines, they got rid of a lot of places. No fire nation prison in the earth kingdom, no nothern air temple, almost no villages. You never get a change to explore the world and learn about the ordinary people.
Production:
The directing felt bad. A lot of people say, the acting was bad. But I don’t agree. First of all, a lot of the cast were children. I think it is not fair to judge them so easily and hard. In my opinion the directing wasn’t good. And you could tell because even the older and more experienced actors were really stiff.
The dialogs were almost always awkward. This adds to the previous point and is another sign that the acting isn’t the problem. The lines were sometimes random, jokes felt forced and original lines never made the same impact as in the animated series.
Some of the CGI green screen backgrounds were awful. They reminded you that this is a show which really pulled me out of the immersion.
Costumes:
The costumes felt lifeless. They could have added so much details to the garments and accessories. But of all things they decided to stick to the original with the costume design?! I expected the outfits to be a lot more toned down in brightness too. That’s something you need in an animated series, but not in a live action. So much missed potential.
Why could they not cast old people for old characters? All of them looked so stale, emotionless and almost uncanny.
I was sooo disappointed by Yue! Maybe I’m biased here, because she was one of my favorite characters of book one. But somehow she was the only character that didn’t felt casted perfectly. And especially her hair was awful and looked like a cheap wig.
Tumblr media
Conclusion
Overall, I‘m disappointed. Again, I didn’t expected a 1:1 adaptation. But I don’t see that the same care was put into it like it was for the original. I would have wanted to have something that creates similar emotions and an overall known feeling. But it doesn’t. It’s confusing, flat and carelessly made. I can definitely see why the original creators stepped back from it.
If you think about watching it, I would recommend you the original. Especially because it is not that much longer. So better invest your time wisely.

I’m going insane over here. Ok. Strap in. I’ve got a lot to say.
I’ve already made a couple posts about this but the thoughts are running rampant in here and I think I’ve got some more in depth topics I want to get into this time.
(really long post its like 1.5k words so dont click on it if u dont wanna scroll thru all that LOL)
First off, we’ve got the voting system. I have… a lot of gripes about the voting system. I’ll preface this statement with maybe I’m wrong, because I haven’t spent a lot of time interacting with the fandom, but it seems like a lot of people are taking the voting system at face value. The premise is simple, after all. Examine the prisoner, assess their crime, and decide whether you think it was justifiable, right? But there’s a twist, obviously. Your verdicts have a direct impact on the prisoners. And you are speaking through the audience surrogate, the warden at Milgram prison, Es. Es is very interesting to me. Despite being a clear self insert, they absolutely exhibit personality of their own, and thought processes and decisions that aren’t influenced by the audience at all. A perfect unreliable narrator. They aren’t a character at first as much as a lens to see the prison through. From the very beginning, they insist on the same thing: job first, questions later. They’re the warden after all. No time to think about the prison. Now I haven’t read the light novel so I’m sure I could go more in depth on my thoughts on the prison if I had read it, but regardless of that, it’s painfully clear how suspicious the whole situation is. However, the way it’s framed almost makes the prison itself, the warden, and Jackalope fade into the background. It’s kind of brilliant actually. Anyway, you’re voting through Es. But who says Es has the right to pass judgement? Look. No one knows what Milgram is. What their ulterior motives are. What’s ultimately going to happen at the end of the project. According to the light novel, it's happened before, so again, I’m perhaps not the most knowledgeable about this part. But why does Milgram get to decide what to do with the prisoners? It feels awfully hypocritical and potentially dangerous. But the whole project is set up so you have no other choice than to vote. It’s fascinating. You’re led towards the conclusion that Milgram wants you to reach. And your immediate thought is NOT to question it, because it’s a piece of media. Why would it lie?
Alright, bear with me for a minute. You know the original milgram experiment? The one the whole thing is supposedly based on? It's about obedience to authority. Listen to me. I am shaking you guys by the shoulders. It’s about obedience to authority. DOESN’T THAT SOUND LIKE WHAT I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT. They had people administer shocks to “test participants”. The shocks got higher and higher till near fatal levels. The test participants weren’t actually real, but they found that “every participant [went] up to 300 volts, and 65% [went] up to the full 450 volts.” (Milgram experiment, Wikipedia). The whole video series is like this experiment. I don’t know. You get it. You get the connection. I don’t know how much better I can explain this. You can imagine me jumping up and down and flapping my hands.
Listen to me. If you aren’t looking at it from a meta perspective that’s fine. I get it. Most media I like I just passively engage with. Usually that’s more fun for me. But frankly with Milgram I feel as if not looking at it from a meta perspective makes you just another test participant. Another shock administrator. Another cog in the machine. I see people talk about Milgram’s bad writing sometimes, and, you know, fair. There are subjects not handled with the care they need. I’m not claiming that Milgram is perfect. But I haven’t seen anyone talk about how fucking cool this is. They’ve taken the art form and made it into a mechanism. I think it’s kind of brilliant.
Anyway, essentially what I’m trying to say with perhaps an excessive amount of words is that I don’t think we have the right to pass judgement on the prisoners. From a meta perspective, of course.
Apologies in advance for another interjection. This part is perhaps less relevant to the rest of the post, but it’s so cool that I kinda wanna skim over it anyway. You can skip this part if it's getting too long for you, especially since I already kind of touched on it up there. Es as not only an audience surrogate but ALSO as their own character makes them so interesting. I personally actually hated them for a little while after watching some of the voice dramas. Because they act cruel. And make bad decisions. And say insensitive things. And some of that is seeping in from the audience, but even more interesting to me is that a lot of it is just a result of their environment. They’re harsh and defensive and seem very convinced in their own righteousness, and they come off as a total asshole about it sometimes. But think about it. They’ve woken up in this prison. Fucking insane. But instead of freaking out about it, they begin to cling to their newfound authority. I mean, it’s the most rational thing to do. Like, it’s not a normal thing to do, but it’s rational. It’s easy to make yourself forget about everything else when you fixate on a certain point, so that’s what they do. They don’t seem to think there’s any way out of this besides becoming a willing participant, so they lean real hard into the whole “warden” thing. They’re just as trapped as the prisoners are. I believe there’s an empty cell in the prison. Probably Es’s; It’s not a hard conclusion to come to. Milgram has happened before and my guess is that the prisoners are picked more or less by chance. This has very interesting implications. Either Es is a totally random person, or they’re just like the other prisoners, having taken a life. This would make sense as to why they needed to have their memories erased. This makes the whole thing just that much more hypocritical. But I digress.
And so now we come to my second point. Or maybe third on account of the tangents. The parallels with the other prisoners. Specifically number 03, Fuuta. Fuuta is a really good example of taking things out of proportion. His crime is simple: something along the lines of cyberbullying someone into commiting suicide. So like, yes. Objectively? Shitty. Shitty move. He’s not a great person. 20 year old terminally online gamer. Many people off the bat are not going to like him, and therefore probably vote him guilty. But put that into scale: he did not actively kill the person, nor was his intention to cause death. Which is not to say he wasn’t in the wrong. But consider it; we’ve got this weird suspicious prison complex. And we’ve got some loser online. And then there’s the immediate consequence. Now we didn’t know Kotoko was going to go crazy, but regardless of that, that was the consequence of us voting Fuuta guilty. Now he’s literally missing an eye for the crime of… being mean online. So clearly some people started to think about this (hence his innocent vote in trial 2). He’s a crack in the facade, or something of the sort. Apply pressure, dig a little deeper, and it starts looking like, well, the stuff I’ve already said.
But more than that is the realization that Fuuta really has just been taken and put into this prison. He’s a normal person, who has behaved in a less than ideal way, but still a normal person, put into this absurd situation. And you know who else is like that? Well, everybody, but specifically Es. I genuinely do not think there will be a happy ending for anyone unless Es begins to realize this. Which means the audience beginning to realize this. The “innocent” and “guilty” votes don’t really mean anything. Or, they do, because they’ve been assigned value, but the person assigning value to them is, once again, Milgram. Or Jackalope, I suppose, assuming he is the guy behind the whole thing. Maybe I’m preaching to the choir. Maybe you guys have already considered this. But it’s been bouncing around my head all day and I was going a bit crazy over it and I had to get it out.
TLDR; I think the whole voting system is rigged in the favor of the prison itself rather than the prisoners, I don’t think that, as Es, we get to decide who is and who is not “guilty”, Milgram Project itself seems an awful lot like the experiment(not the content of the media, but the interactivity of it), and Es has probably done something bad in order to be in the prison in the first place. The key takeaway from this is that I’m actually really normal and pumping out 1.5k words in 2 hours because of this media is an average and usual thing to do.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
@ciunasboinin thanks for tagging! This was such a fun to write 1. How many works do you have on Ao3?
27 works.
2. What's your total Ao3 word count?
197,001
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Blue Lock!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Birds and wings (kaisagi) (1965)
Kaleidoscope (kainessagi) (973)
dreams (noego supremacy) (737)
sun compression my beloved (kaisagi) (450)
pyrrhic victory (kaisagi) (367) and (for representation of some clear kainess) Flower Crown (351)
5. Do you respond to comments?
I do! Sometimes it can take a long time because most of the time between university, work, language courses, immigrant problems, care for my flat and pets I'm partially dead, but I'll always answer. Though sometimes when I'm too tired I ignore really short ones (from five or so words) because I don't know what can I answer for that.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
pyrrhic victory (kaisagi). I still feel sorry for Isagi when I think about it. It's kinda OOC because of the circumstances I build there, but I still think that that's a quite possible acting for Isagi in that situation. He's just seventeen, after all.
As for kainess, then directly it's house of cards, and indirectly float: major spoiler below, skip italics block if you plan to read 'float'.
Because while Ness believes that "rules" (Ness is useful = Kaiser is not leaving him) which he and Kaiser have will grant him control… actually they mean nothing. The whole scene with spirits (when Kaiser brags about them foolishly thinking that he'll follow long-gone rules about human and gods) along with the loneliness theme is a huge metaphor for that. Kaiser will destroy everything on his path if he'd want to, just of pure boredom, and no rules will ever stop him. And, of course, one day this "everything" will include Ness.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
"sigh" probably Birds and Wings. I'm still occasionally thinking about orphaning it, but I won't do it since my friend will behead me in instant if I'll do that haha In my defense at that time it still wasn't clear how bad are kainess problems - they looked like two silly plushes, so Kaiser is much softer there, and Ness is in his mentally-stable era. Like, Kaiser still uses Isagi a bit, but also helps him a lot of course. This is explained by the injury that put his career under the threat and after which Kaiser is kind of reevaluating his life a bit, but of course now I realise it doesn't work that way with him haha. It's pure romance, basically. I still feel my teeth getting rotten when I think about the epilogue. As you may see, I don't really like it.
Through this was the fic because of which I've met one of the best persons in my life, so of course I'm also quite grateful to it!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
From myself lol Through I've never got anything bad from my commenters, everyone is always so sweet and nice.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I try to avoid it as much as I can haha. Don't like to write it. Through actually there's a lot of feelings and relationship aspects which can be shown through the sex, so it's kind of sad - I'd liked to be better with that. If I write then I try to finish it as fast as possible haha so usually they're rated M and have a really non-graphic smut. Sometimes that really affects atmosphere of the writing (in bad way), so for example I think it's visible in charity project (kaisagi), which just can't be written without a smut scene
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Nope, and not that I want to - maybe I did when I was younger, but I almost don't remember that time. Though I've mentioned Esperion from Ao Ashi in Birds and Wings!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Nope, at least I don't know about that.
12. What's the longest you've ever spent working on one fic? And the shortest?
Longest - it's really hard to tell, since there are a lot of fics which I write quite fast but I think for months about the idea, settings and thoughts I want to show. Maybe it was Pilgrims (kainessagi), took so long for both research and writing. I've rewritten it multiple times, and at some point I had 12k words in my cut-out document and 2k in final one.
Shortest - I don't know, probably cyclicity (kainess) or summer in your eyes (tabiori). I wrote both of them in span of 3-4 hours. But again, it also involved a lot of thinking before haha
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nope, never. This may be interesting but it involves too high level of trust and organization between writers to do that
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Oikage once and forever.
15. What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have so much of them. I think "electrical dreams" for academic rivals kaisagi without existence of Blue Lock - I've been thinking about it since March or April. Isagi gets in German university in the last attempt to continue playing football, and Kaiser have lost both football and Ness because of his own overconfidence. They meet, but for both of them this moment is almost the worst in which they could have. Also there are awesome background tabiori. But it includes so much smut (╥﹏╥) And drama haha I've started it multiple times, but it just doesn't sounds right. Not sure if I'd be able to write it the way I want.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Oh… Not a good question to answer for me with all of my self-esteem issues haha But if I'd say about myself, most of all I love how I'm determining the central theme of the work and then build the whole story around it. I have few works where I allowed myself to be silly or simply writing angst of course haha, but mostly I take this part of writing really seriously, especially in the long works. The central point of my writings usually is absolute acceptance, and when I write it this way I really start to feel some hope towards myself as well.
For example, Kurana (Snuffy & Lorenzo if they met a few times before) is about how you never may know how your impulse act of kindness towards less-fortunate can affect one's life. How you can give someone hope and will to live by simply being a human. Birds and Wings are about how a single person, who finally believes in you can change your life in an instant, and how much of hope and self-esteem this can grant. How all of us are becoming better near the person who trusts us. And Pilgrims are about total acceptance of yourself, including all the bad and good and gray parts. That in the world so huge sooner or later of course you'll meet someone who'll understand you as no one else does, even if their experience is slightly different. That even in a world where you're alone one day you won't be.
Also my planning skills! I always write a plan before starting a long work, even with small one sometimes. Sometimes it changes in the process of writing, of course, but it's still nice to have a base like that. And I also write down there parts of dialog or small acts which I want to add. This can take weeks or months sometimes, but in result works becomes better than it may have been and much fuller.
And maybe the fact that I can force myself to write even if I don't want too or too tired, because else I won't write a single word in months :D
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Oh, I can rumble a lot about it haha. Sorry if it sounds kind of pathetic. But in short, I think it's either a weak English or the fact that in the end there's almost nothing which can be said about my works. I see that works with the same or lesser amount of kudos get 2-3 times more comments, and of course I'm jealous a bit of it because of my perfectionism, but most of all I'd just like to know why my works don't create similar wish to share the thoughts which appeared throughout the reading. What do they lack, what should I improve - I'd like to know that to become better. Maybe I'd like for a beta reader to read and criticize some of my works so I'd know where to dig, but again this requires a high level of trust.
I also think that characterization variety is my weak point - I'd say I have canon-like understandings of them, of course, which is shown for example in charity project or sacrifice (kainess), but I write a lot about same characters. And it will quickly get boring if I'd explore them from the same side. So my works often have entirely different characterizations, which especially visible with my kainess fics.
And the fact that I'm always trying to jump over my head in everything, and sometimes this badly affects the resulting work.
Also probably the fact that I don't read now as much as I did when I was younger, and of course this limits me in my writings. But usually I'm too tired to process normal literature. Through nevertheless I've almost finished Hesse's Steppenwolf and "The Orange Balloon Dog" of Don Thompson (through it's about art). Hope I'd had more time at the break between semesters.
I'm also almost unable to write something short just for fun (because I want to ✨show✨ something, but usually I don't have much to lol), and this really limits me. I have ~120 ideas in my drafts, but I would never write them because I know they will turn out too empty for my taste, and I'll dislike it the way I dislike some of my both posted and unposted works. Also it's hard for me to write works with more than 30k words, since I'm too laconic and can't make myself to add more scenes when I criticize myself that its 'unneeded' - even if it's purpose is to show development of characters relationships. The fact that I prefer to finish work first and only then publish it chapter by chapter because I'll afraid than else I would abandon it and disappoint someone just adds to it. Too short for maxi fics, too long for drabbles, the drama of my life.
But in the end of the day my main reader is me, and most of time I'm satisfied with my works! Of course there's a directions in which I want to evolve, but still the way I write now is the style I've always adored in other's authors works while I grew.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I know only two languages aside of the English (and basics of Czech and French which I've almost forgotten), and they can't be used in bllk fics. Once I tried to add something like that in German (when my friend who knows it a bit helped me) to Kaleidoscope, but this was a mistake haha
Through I know plenty of programming languages 🫡 One day I'll write Sae analyzing his famous statistics data in R and it will be the end for y'all.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh, I don't remember, this was so long ago. Probably Once Upon a Time or BSD.
20. Favourite fic you've written?
sun compression for sure - it gives me so much hope when I think about it. Love this feeling of soft calm wind filled with the sun after the storm - the feeling of serenity, if you get me. The feeling of recovering and starting a new life, leaving all the bad behind, finally looking into the future with hope. Still can't believe I've written something this beautiful. And I really love setting of Baden and kaisagi which I've written there.

Okay, so the tea on the tax situation
So it's well known that in America, being married you get benefits come tax season when you file jointly. It's great, especially if you have a kid! You usually get a much bigger refund, but you have to file jointly to get those benefits... which is what Ratboy and I agreed to do
Then he turns around and tells me to file separately because it'll give a bigger refund? (False). But I can't argue because I'd have to have his W-2s to file jointly for us and he'd have to send pictures of them to me for that so...
Anyways he has the audacity to try and claim Luke (which heavily increases your refund by the way). One, I fucking BIRTHED the kid that year and for awhile we were fully reliant on my income??? you know, the income from my maternity leave??? Because he didn't have a job AND WASN'T APPLYING. Anyways, so I get a new job after my maternity leave is over because fuck Amazon. I was working full time making $18.50/hr (i think). He worked maybe 20 hours a week minimum wage ($16.50 ish). I ended up losing that job because of an at the time undiagnosed chronic illness. I instantly applied for jobs and got an interview. I started the next month. The whole process took me a month, and then I was at full time again! I ended up leaving that job at the end of September (Ratboy left his job too) because we were planning to move states but that didn't work out and also I'm applying for disability. In all of that time I was working I had to put all my money towards keeping a roof over our head and I was constantly buying stuff for Luke if I had to. But yeah... Luke was Ratboy's dependent...
Turns out I need his W-2s anyways because filing separately in the state we're in means we have to take stupid extra steps and it's bullshit. So once I explain this to him, he reveals he hasn't filed his yet and he needs to look at it because it was "being weird).
Motherfucker I swear, this asshole texts me today in response to me reminding him I need my W-2s saying not to worry about it because he's gonna file jointly because it'll give more. But this asshole said he was gonna be getting fucking $6000 filing separately. Wanna know about what I was gonna get? $450
So he was trying to majorly screw me over. Like fucking majorly. And now he's going to do our joint taxes and I swear to god if he tries to not give me my share of the money for WHATEVER reason I will be finding a way to kick his ass
Because with my portion of the refund? I'd probably have enough to sustain myself until I got the info on if my disability was approved or not. So... I could divorce him. And oh boy do I want to divorce him. The shitty thing is, we don't have room for Luke here at my dad's. If we did? Well, my dad was majorly fucked over when him and my mother got divorced... so he knows exactly what there is to fuck someone else over.
Maybe I'll wait to divorce Ratboy until I have room for Luke...

He couldn't even guess the vastness of the Status felt from that voice. He glanced to his side and saw that all the Great Dokkaebis, including Baram, were prostrating towards the front as well. Someone was standing in front of the 'Plate of Revelation'. Bihyung hid his shivering and slowly raised his head. And that's when he realized it. So, that was it, then… Now, he understood it. That creature was the absolute being that ruled the <Bureau> and controlled the <Star Stream>. The 'King of Stories'. The King extended his lengthy and pale hand to stroke the wall while slowly opening its mouth. [The 'One Story' that decides the next world will now be chosen.]
What in the world?
So the Dokkaebis literally have the rest of the Last Wall / Final Wall?
Which is weird because everyone keeps saying that Dokja has the largest fragment yet the Wall they have "could not be measured due to its sheer, immense size."
Unless it's an entirely different wall, I guess, but that seems unlikely considering we just went from Secretive Plotter wanting Dokja for his piece of the Last Wall to Bihyung seeing the Dokkaebis' Wall. But anything is possible with ORV.
Or maybe "largest" isn't measured in literal size but by like thickness or volume or something?
Because you'd think that their wall doesn't have all of the same text as Dokja's? Like, why wouldn't they tweak things more if they could literally read all of TWSA and kind of follow along with what Dokja is doing? Supposedly they can't "interfere" (they've been doing quite a bit of interfering throughout the story imo) but they could do things like "it looks like he's in this area for this secret item and we don't want him to have it so we'll make a sub-scenario to encourage other Incarnations to go after it."
And obviously only Dokja's Wall has his own personal narration and thoughts because, again, if they could literally read his mind at all times...
Or maybe it does have all of TWSA but they can't interpret it like he does? Like, the Constellations have had the Plate of Revelation for ages but it doesn't do the same thing as the Fourth Wall at all even though it's obviously directly connected to it or a literal piece of it.
Granted, when Secretive Plotter got to the Wall it seemed like it was literally the word for word beginning of TWSA...
Which, again, interesting that the Fourth Wall instead showed the word for word beginning of ORV when "speaking" with 1863rd Joonghyuk. Though, now that I think about it, ORV is lowkey kinda 1863rd/3rd Joonghyuk's story while TWSA is Secretive Plotter's story so maybe that has something to do with it???
And idek where to start with "the 'One Story' that decides the next world will now be chosen." Next world??? Like next worldline??? And chosen by who? Them? Or by the victors of the Final Scenario? And if it's by the victors then why did Secretive Plotter just run into the wall when he finished instead of moving on to "the next world" that he helped create? Who is even in the next world? Is it like I've thought previously, where the whole story just starts over regardless of Joonghyuk's regression?
As usual, idk what's going on. The Dokkaebis and the Wenny people are the most mysterious beings in this whole novel. I knew Secretive Plotter was shady back in freaking Chapter 92 but I still have no idea how the Dokkaebi King plays into all of this in Chapter 450.
Tumblr media
But hey! Our man Bihyung got a promotion! A very ominous, probably very dangerous promotion, but a promotion! You go Bihyung!

"A Rather Polite, Bigger Thing" (Pt. 5)
Masterpost:
Two days from now was the nearest time she was able to get. Until then, the robot lay in complete silence, staring blankly at the ceiling. He spoke only when first spoken to, and if asked about his well-being he was quick to assure that he was fine, and in no need of further care. Still, she was worried.
Her robot was functioning sure, and there were no complaints of any sort of depleting batteries or further needs. Now that her robot no longer had to worry about dirtying the floor, he could move, or rather, crawl about as he wished; an opportunity he never took. She could order him to, of course, and he'd leap to obey in a flash, but after the incident with his eyes, she was rather hesitant to command anything thoughtlessly. Her robot was fully capable of moving and speaking on its own. So why wasn't he?
Perhaps she was just expecting too much. It could very well be that the isolation of a new place had driven her just insane enough to want to believe that a machine as old as he could be that advanced…
…but if he was, she wanted to give him that chance anyways. Even if it was stupid to even try.
…Maybe I am going insane.
**********
Today was the day it would be leaving.
It knew before Mistress even spoke the words, for her clothes were sturdier and less glamorous than her usual attire. No skirt, no blouse, no suit jacket, only a paint-stained shirt and a wide pair of shorts meant for working purposes. The type of attire meant for handling filth.
What came more as a surprise was the harness. Once it had settled on her back, she had tied a length of rope around both their waists, joining them together before adding two additional loops for the shoulders. Before long, it was tied as securely as could be, and there was no danger of it falling off.
That was good. Now she know longer had to worry about grabbing onto what was left of his limbs. With a stretch of her neck, it's head now fell comfortably over her shoulder, and it had a full view of what was up ahead should it care to look.
"Ready?" She asked without needing to. " It's just a short walk, I promise."
"I am willing to go wherever you'll take me." It replied.
There was a quick detour as Mistress had misplaced her purse, and then they were off.
It was not quite sure what to make of being carried quite yet. It was a completely foreign sensation, one it was neither programmed nor prepared for, and the ensuing strangeness of the whole experience left his logical reasoning quite confused.
For one, it was a thrill to be moving again. Even though it was not its own limbs that gave it locomotion, the forward swing and sway as well as the wind in its facial plates could almost trick its programming into believing it was fully functional. There was the satisfaction of a purpose well served, the thrill of obedience. All it needed to do was stay in place and not fall off. With the new harness, it was a remarkably simple task. Right here, right now, it was exactly where it needed to be, and the knowledge was reassuring.
But…?
But then it felt its mistress' heartbeat pick up in tempo, faster and faster as her body  strained to accommodate the extra weight she now bore. Sweat soaked through her clothing and ran down her back. Her breath grew shorter and shallower until she was practically panting. It's signals indicated its human was in discomfort.
And all of it, all of it… was because of it.
There wasn't a single EDW who could reasonably be called "light," but as a 450 model, it was particularly heavier than most. The lack of most of its limbs helped slightly, yes, but regrettably both chest and head were still largely intact, and that was where the most important— and the heaviest— components lay. It was in these moments where it was harshly reminded of its true predicament. Not a pleasant trip, not a useful endeavor, but dead weight strapped to the back of a human it should have been serving rather than hindering. Simply put, a burden, in every sense of the word.
And it was then where it's eye would close and it's head would droop, as if the shame would go away if it was not available to process it.
"We're here." Mistress whispered, gently shaking it active. The door pushed open with the sound of a ringing bell.
"Customer!"
It was the high-pitched squeal of an OLI model.
************************
The shop was small, but quaint, with warm yellow lights and a modest array of android parts neatly displayed and labeled on the shelves. By the counter, she assumed, was the man who had talked to her over the phone, currently working with another customer. He flashed a quick smile as she walked in.
“Be right with you, ma’am!”
She nodded in return. In truth, there was nothing more she would’ve liked to do than to find a safe space to set her robot down, and then properly stretch out her cramping back. But if she had gone this far, she could wait a little longer. In the meantime, she occupied herself by browsing through the shelves, checking to see if there were any EDW parts for sale. There were, quite a few in fact, but none where of the 450 variety.
That might pose a problem.
“Alright, that’ll be it then. Thank you and have a nice day!”
When she overheard the telltale phrase, she turned around. The man caught her eye.
“Sorry to keep you waiting ma’am!” He called, waving her over.  “How may I help you?”
She tried in vain to tidy up her sweaty hair. “Oh, it’s fine, really, don’t worry about it. I’m the one who called about the EDW-450?”
“Ah, yes!” There was a brief rustling of paper. “I remember now.  You’re right on time! Now, what did you want us to look at?”
As a reply, she merely turned to show her passenger.
“Ah!”
That didn’t sound good. There was genuine shock in his voice. If she were to guess, it was likely the shop did not usually see damage of this severity. That didn’t bode well at all.
“If you don’t mind, miss, I…think it might be best you bring your ‘bot round back. Is that alright?”
Still not a “no.” She nodded eagerly. With a sigh, the man took out a ring of keys and motioned for her to follow him. As he led her down the back door and down the hall to a large pair of bolted double doors, he paused.
“Just knock and tell her Jayce sent ya, alright? Like I said, we don’t promise miracles, but we’ll try our best.”
She thanked him profusely as he returned to his post. “You ready?” She asked, though her robot had long stopped responding. There was a very likely chance the last of the oil had dripped out, and he no longer had fuel to answer her with.
All the more reason to hurry up then.
With a sigh, she wiped her sweaty palms on her pants and knocked. She tried to be firm yet polite in her rapping, just as she was always taught. There was no reason to be nervous. No reason…
There was a pause. A grumble. And then, the door swung open.
********************
“Jayce, I already told you, I can’t—oh!”
A new voice. This one was still feminine, though far rougher around the edges than its mistress. It detected an abundance of frustration, with a tinge of anger. Never a good combination. Oh why did they have to be here?
It was extremely hesitant to look up. Fuel stores were running critically low, and it would have to preserve every bit that it could, per its mistress’ wishes. It was on the brink of reducing its audio sensing radius, but for the new circumstances it found itself in now… perhaps it was best to gather context first. Yes, context so that it could judge how to act, how to behave.
And how to best calm this simmering human with as little damage to its mainframe as possible. It would not be able to handle much more at this rate. Not without completely falling apart.
“Sorry.” The angry girl said, her voice retreating as she backed away. “Thought you were… well, you know. So, you’re that customer Ollie noticed?”
“Yes, yes!”
That was the OLI model. An oddly comforting presence. As another robot, they would be someone it did not have to please, or even think about. It was a relief, if not a small one.
“She’s the one with the E-D-W.” The OLI continued. “That’s what JayJay said.”
“Oh, is that so?” The angry girl responded. “Must be a pretty small Edward, if it can fit on your back.”
“Well, actually…”
And then they were lurching forward, on the move again. As they walked, it allowed itself a quick peek, nothing more nothing less.
It shouldn’t have.
The room was large and dark, lit sporadically with lamps and holiday lights and the occasional propped-up flashlight. Every nook and cranny was overflowing, a mess of metal, stray parts, wires, tools, all carelessly scattered without abandon. It was the sort of place where machines got taken apart. The sort of place, where it would both be quickly disposed of, and forgotten about.
Is this the purpose my mistress had in mind for me?
It’s first reaction to the query was a strong “no.” Its mistress had put too much effort into keeping it whole and together.
But if that was just to ensure a higher sale value…
Without a second thought, it switched off its speculatory faculties. They were wasting fuel anyways. What did it matter to it what happened or what its mistress chose to do? It had wanted to die. It did not want to be a burden anymore.
It only wanted to serve…
There was a long, low whistle as a pair of gloved hands removed the ties that bound it to its mistress’ back and laid it down on another elevated surface. This one was higher, with far less give.
“Well.” The angry girl announced. “You’re a mess.”
The OLI model approached from its right side and began poking at its face. “Your eyes are turned off.” It stated matter-of-factly.
Yes, they are. But it was not the OLI’s comment that reactivated its optics. Rather, it was the loss of its mistress. The sudden inability to detect her heartbeat, or to hear her breathing, or to approximate her location.
It needed to know where she was, more than anything. To know for certain whether she had left him alone already.
And when it checked, there she was, still at his right side with her brows furrowed and a facial expression that read as 64% concerned and 27% anxious.
Fuel level at a critical low.
Locking…
The last stimuli it detected was her hand resting upon one of its arm stumps.

Martin Schneider - a life for music 🕯
Martin Schneider, was a Opera director, professor and father of Constanze (costume designer) and Christoph (Rammstein drummer)
Martin passed away in 2021, and Tagesspiegel posted an obituary for him, which i thought you might like to read 🌺
Obituary for Martin Schneider: Felsenstein says yes
He always returned from trips to the west. Not because of the country. Because of the family and the opera.
Sometimes  it all begins with an urgent wish, the origin of which remains a mystery, but which sets the course for a whole life: Martin Schneider, whose life has been about classical music, opera and, to a large extent, everything subtle, wanted a violin at the age of seven. His parents, his mother a housewife and his father an accountant, fulfilled his wish in Merseburg, Saxony-Anhalt. His cot and his mother's zither were exchanged for it, and with a briquette in one hand and the violin in the other, the boy went to the violin teacher, the piece of coal being part of the fee.
He later became a member of the "Schäfer Choir" and many years later played Bach's Double Concerto in the Cathedral of Merseburg with Gerhard Schäfer, his choirmaster for 13 years. So the direction was set, and the young Schneider continued to follow it consistently: He studied music education, German and musicology at the Martin Luther University in Halle, graduated with a diploma, and when, in the summer of 1961, after all his studying, he went on vacation to the Feldberg Lakes in the Uckermark, he learned about the construction of the Wall in Berlin and also about his first job in the music department of the Berlin Radio. Berlin, the big city that was still unknown to him, in which he had only once seen “The Good Man by Sezuan” with the young Käthe Reichel at the Berliner Ensemble, would from now on be his new home, but would also from now on be divided.
The leaders and steerers get involved
He started the journey with great excitement. And then noticed that he was expected to be an editor on children's radio. He had thought more of editing for serious music, but that didn't help, he accepted the challenge. But he soon looked elsewhere: he was far too annoyed that the socialist leaders and steerers themselves interfered in the selection of children's songs. He had experienced that often; he remembered this time best: he appeared in the editorial office and all his colleagues looked at him in horror. Nobody said "How could you!", but it was clearly evident in their eyes. What happened? He had put the song "Now we're driving across the lake, across the lake" into the program on the very day a republic refugee paddled across the Baltic Sea in the direction of freedom. An unintentional coincidence, but he was accused of bad intention. This is how it could go in the socialist cultural apparatus.
Such experiences made him keep an eye out, he wanted to work creatively, maybe even use his own voice, but unfortunately it wasn't suitable, as the voice coach at the Komische Oper confirmed. She advised him to apply there as a dramaturge or assistant director, for him, as he will later say, "a sign from heaven". The rest is quickly told. Director Walter Felsenstein says yes, Martin Schneider starts with a trainee salary in September 1962: 450 marks gross. The salary increases in the coming years, as does the reputation of the new employee. He stays with the company for twelve years, succeeds and becomes a producer. Collaborates on Rigoletto, Don Carlos, Eugen Onegin. And Felsenstein makes many things possible, even the young father's move from a backyard dwelling with an outside toilet to a two-room apartment with hot running water. Daughter and son are born, Constanze becomes costume creator and designer, Christoph drummer for the rock band Rammstein. Their music is not really the father's taste, but he is happy that the son decided to go into music.
29 years "Bluebeard"
Martin Schneider always returns to the GDR from guest performances in western countries. Staying away is not an option, the connection to the family and to the opera is too important. In 1974 he moved to the Halle Opera House, became first director and took over the post of director in 1978. Felsenstein persuades him the promise to continue to supervise the "Blaubart" at the Berlin Komische Oper as evening director with a guest contract. He does this until 1992. In 29 years, the play has had 369 performances.
Another departure in 1980: Martin Schneider decides to become a freelancer. He works as a director and university teacher with teaching assignments at the Leipzig Music Academy. He becomes a professor at the Hanns Eisler Music Academy in Berlin.
A life for music, but also for many other things. For friends, good conversations, the Baltic Sea again and again and also for a new love. His first wife Brigitte does not return from a visit to the West in 1987, the marriage ends. On the beach at Ückeritz he meets Antje, who is eight years younger, comes from Cottbus and was a music dealer there. She now lives in Berlin. Even in Cottbus, friends had raved about him, she absolutely should get to know this Schneider, he was directing at the Cottbus Theater, a great guy. But there is no meeting, only many years later their time on Usedom.
Two aesthetes come together here, enjoying each other's clever minds. They even make a program out of it, with which they will go on a tour through the whole country from 2000, a literary-musical reading tour, 1400 times in 20 years! They absorb literature that was not accessible to them in the GDR and pass it on to a grateful audience.
And they also travel a lot privately, to Rome, to Prague and again and again to the Baltic Sea. At home they invite you to song recitals, Schubert's "Winterreise" is on Martin Schneider's mind until the end. On March 1, 2020 he sings it one last time.
With a good friend, he oracles over a beer as to who will be on cloud seven or eight first. It almost becomes a bet. Martin Schneider would have lost now. He dies on January 22, losing to the cancer that has bothered him for eight years. He wanted his son to play a drum solo for his funeral service. And "The Song of the Moldau" by Brecht and Eisler. He had wanted to record it himself, but he didn't manage anymore.

The silence that came over the room after she spoke about her mother was deafening. It was almost as if Lyla had stolen the woman's breath away and she didn't know what to say in response. But, even mentioning what had happened aloud had created a tightening in her chest as the sadness started bubbling up to the surface again. She hated thinking about what had happened, and giving it a voice just made it even more real.
"Do you have a job? Can you pay rent?", the woman asked calmly, her features had softened since her confession, but she still seemed to be all business. Lyla couldn't really blame her. People had to make a living one way or another and her tragedy didn't stop the world from spinning - even though she had felt like it did.
"I....don't." She said, watching the woman's face quickly change. "But I will start looking. I'm sure I can find something. People need help all over this town.", Lyla said, reasonably, somehow finding a way to muster up a little bit of confidence.
There was another long stretch of silence, and then the woman let out a heavy sigh, and resumed her typing on her computer once more.
"Rent is 450 a month. It's due at the first of the month. You have a five day grace period, but anything after that is considered late. If you miss two payments in a row, you will be evicted. Do you understand?"
"Yes, ma'am.", Lyla said, trying to stop the tears that were brimming in the corners of her eyes. She felt such a wave of relief wash over her. She had found herself a home; and it hadn't taken that long at all. It felt like a blessing - like her momma was somehow still watching over her like she had her whole life.
"The first month I will wave the rent plus the usual moving in fees.", the woman said, as Lyla heard the sound of a printer going off in the background. "I know what it's like to be without a family."
"Thank you.", Lyla said, a small tear dripping down her face.
"Don't thank me yet, girl. You better find yourself a job. Are you still in school?", she asked as she pulled a piece of paper out of the printer and sat it down on the desk in front of her "Read over this and sign it."
"I just started my senior year.", Lyla replied as she looked over the document that was handed to her. It was a lease agreement. It seemed like pretty standard stuff, and Lyla didn't really see anything that concerned her. She hastily signed the document, handing it back to the woman, anxious to get her hands on the keys to her new home.
"Stay in school.", the woman said gruffly as she grabbed the piece of paper back and moved over to the copier. "Trust me. If you ever want to make something out of yourself, school should be your priority."
"Yes, ma'am." Lyla replied, remembering that she had promised her mother the exact same thing. She had dreams for herself - she wanted to open up her own little bakery and sell her treats to the world. She may not have needed an education for that dream, but she knew that it wouldn't have hurt anything.
"You can stop calling me, ma'am. My name is Barbara, but you can call me Barb.", she said, and Lyla saw the woman smile for the first time since she had entered the office as she turned back to Lyla and handed her a copy of the lease she had just signed. "Congratulations. You have a home."
Lyla stared down at that piece of paper as though it was going to disappear. She couldn't believe it was that easy. She knew that it probably should have been. Maybe the woman was taking pity on her, or maybe she just saw a way to make a quick buck. Either way, Lyla didn't have to worry about sleeping on the street that night, or any night after, and that was all that she cared about.
"I'm Lyla.", she said as she held out her hand. The woman didn't shake it, as she expected. Instead, she dropped a small key into the palm of her hand.
"You ready to see your place?", she asked, and Lyla nodded her head enthusiastically. "Follow me."

Size of Xadia/Human Kingdoms
I was wondering how big the place is, considering they seem to get around really fast these days. I'm Canadian, so we measure distance in time. I know a 45 min drive here is a 3 day walk.
Let's translate this: Add together all the time they spent traveling, 23 days, subtract the time they took to rest, 8 days. Add the extra time they would have taken to walk the entire way (a week to walk around the lake, a week to walk around the desert) that would make about 29 days, about a whole month of walking travel. 3 x 9 approximately, maybe 3 x 10 (45 min x 10)= 450 min drive % 60 = 7 1/2 hour drive from Katolis to the storm spire.
My parents on their trip across provinces could drive 14 hrs a day if they pushed it. If cars existed in this world, this story would have been a lot shorter. People get tired of the medievalism, but it does add time to pace a story out.
The entirety of Xadia and the human Kingdoms is probably no bigger than Ontario.
