OK so.
Abed had a breakdown in which he saw everything in claymation. Went catatonic at this occasion. He is apparently capable of making other people experience hallucinations (Annie in the dreamatorium, and let's not forget Jeff imagined the dark counterparts exactly like Abed did). He created a mafia family just to get more chicken (and because it was cool). Only one not affected by the craziness beam of the glee club teacher or the dean in Documentary: Redux, and is capable of sitting 26h without reacting and make other people have breakdowns just watching/listening to him (Britta, Duncan, that one teacher studying who's the boss, Duncan again...), unwillingly manipulated Jeff into revealing his biggest insecurities...
and he is the SANEST person in the group. Though no. He's the one with the least homicidal tendencies, not necessarily the sanest.
and you know what? it checks out!
Jeff is a sociopath who was ready to falsely accuse a man of human trafficking (20-to-life sentence) just so he would stop crashing on his couch, (kinda) manipulated Chang into thinking he could stay in his baby's life after the birth if he stopped crashing on his couch, assaulted other members of the group (Pierce at the hospital, the Dean at the karaoke bar, among other occasions, I'm sure I'm forgetting a few), attacked them with a fire axe yelling that the table was magic, admitted to "shielding rich people from justice" when he was a lawyer, thinks he's God, committed crimes outlawed by the Geneva convention while in a hallucination.
Britta threw a corpse through a window on accident, threw a brick on purpose through an office window, does drugs, is almost exclusively attracted to weird guys (an antique smuggler, a junkie who defenestrated himself, Vaughn, Blade, the pizza guy, Lukas...), came up with plans ranging from "weaponize a friend's absence of social filter to harass a bunch of girls" to "pimp another friend to a woman in order to ruin her son's life". She goes hysterical during the Lava episode. She arguably sleeps with Jeff so she could beat him at paintball. She tries to gaslight a friend into thinking he didn't walk in on Jeff and her. She forced everyone to tell horror stories to know which one of them was a psychopath and only realized she might be the one when they told her she had turned in her test too.
Troy is usually a sweet guy but he did a few things that could qualify as harassment (naming the monkey Annie's Boobs, or creating that twitter account to make fun of Pierce, for example) and also he challenged a guy to a death match! (but he did spare the guy's life).
Pierce invited all the group on two separate occasions just so he could mess with them (the hospital, and the halloween). He dressed as Patrick Bateman without even meaning to for a business meeting. He set up a friend to "die" (well, be shot at paintball) out of jealousy. He broke his word multiple times ("lemme bounce or i tell everyone about the trampoline" - bounces and tells everyone anyway). SUED a friend. The eulogy he gave at his dad's funeral ended by "but you're dead, and i'm alive, which means i win. suck it!". Assaulted who he thought was his father (but was a colonel sanders atari cartouche on a screen).
Shirley was onboard with getting Chang incarcerated for life (before he became even crazier, that was the time he was trying to be useful and nice). She assaulted multiple people. She has a past as a bully. She took her issues with Andre on Slater's car. She recognized she used guilt as a manipulation tactic, also used a few other tactics on some of her friends. Still, she's trying to be better.
Annie was completely down with faking her own murder to multiple people, and with torturing people mentally (Duncan experiment). She did other stuff but I'm pretty sure that's good enough for this list.
Chang is Chang, Pelton is a stalker and a blackmailer.
Abed is actually the less physically violent of the group.

Amplify the good times and/or the boys of summer for the WIP folder meme, please! <3
Thank you <3
Okay, so Amplify the good times is an original story that‘s been gathering dust for a long time, but I really love the characters. It‘s set in Berlin and about a bassist in a punk band who hasn‘t really any idea what to do with her life (I swear I started writing this before falling into the fob fandom xD) aside from wanting to do music and at a gig in a small club she bumps into a friend of a friend, well she‘s very gay and so on. It‘s kind of a coming-of-age thing in your 20s when everyone thinks you‘re supposed to have your life in order already. There‘s a lot of punk music and a very orange cat involved and it‘s always super fun to mentally revisitd places I used to hang out in Berlin back when I lived there.
The Boys of Summer is based on the song of the same name, specifically the version by The Ataris because a) I love it and b) the lyrics are perfect for being turned into a story. I‘ve been wanting to write this for years, but never found the right characters for it, but I think it might work well as a fob fic with Patrick as the pov character (which is going to be interesting because I have no idea how to write him) coming back to a small lake town where he once spent a summer and Pete being the person the song is about. So yeah, no idea when I‘ll get to that but I will, at some point. Hopefully.

I saw a video about plug and play TV video game controllers. Sure, I'll see another video about these. I used to own the spongebob one among other ones. (A superman one, atari bundle)
But then the video progresses and he showcases the spongebob one. Yeah the bubble breakout game that's a classic! But wait. What is he playing? This is not spongebob TV game.
This guy somehow got one of the later spongebob consoles that didn't have hooks, sandy surf, Patrick maze, or spongebob donkey kong. It has better graphics and some more interesting looking games. Weird.
From the comments, this seems to be the case. Millions of the first line of spongebob consoles with the limited sound and graphics were sold. While not as many of the newer better console were sold.

A quick history of video game sponsorships on football kits:
1. Arsenal FC x SEGA/Dreamcast (1999-2002) - The Home and Away kits, as well as practice/sideline gear, featured alternate branding as shown here by Gunner legends Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieria.
2. Sevilla FC x Nintendo (1992) - A rare shirt from a single game sponsorship during Maradona’s one-year stint with the Spanish side. RIP Legend.
3. Cerezo Osaka x Capcom (1997-98) - The Japanese dev/publisher renewed their deal with the local side last year, hopefully paving the way for new game-inspired designs.
4. JEF United Chiba x SEGA/Sonic (1994-95) - Although the wide array of SEGA-sponsored kits deserve its own post, the Japanese club's shirt featuring everyone’s favorite hedgehog had to make the list.
5. ACF Fiorentina x Nintendo (1997-99) - An absolute heater of a jersey in the traditional purple worn here by legend Gabriel Batistuta.
6. AJ Auxerre x PlayStation 2 (2001-05) - Not Sony’s first sponsorship with a European club but the first console-specific branding as worn by Djibril Cissé.
7. Manchester City x EIDOS (2000-02) - The deal came just one year after the clubs promotion out of the second division to the Premier League. Rival fans were quick to call out that EIDOS actually stood for “Eleven Idiots Dreaming of Success.”
8. Bayern Munich x Commodore (1984-89) - The American home computer manufacturer behind the C64 and Amiga series played a major role in the acceleration of personal computer adoption. Their partnership with the Bundesliga titan marks the oldest artifact in this list.
9. Olympique Lyon x Atari (2000-01) - At the turn of the century, Atari (fka Infogrames Entertainment) got into the mix by sponsoring their hometown club from Lyon. Shown here is Brazilian free kick specialist Juninho who played for the French club from 2001-09.
10. Tokyo Verdy x Konami (2002-04) - Despite the humble design, this one deserves a mention simply as a salute to Konami for releasing Pro Evolution Soccer/Winning Eleven (now eFootball) and thereby starting one of the greatest rivalries in video game history.

Superman #83 (November 1993)
Funeral for a Friend: uh, that one Green Lantern supporting character who died when Coast City got blown up (Joe? Gary?). In this issue DC’s superheroes pay tribute to the tragedy of Coast City while also deciding what the hell to do with the giant engine that’s now in its place. Weird early ‘90s Hawkman! Dr. Fate with boobs! Already-slightly-psychotic Hal Jordan! EVERYONE IS HERE.
Tumblr media
(Nice one, Guy.)
Meanwhile, Lex Luthor Jr. is also sneaking around Engine City, supposedly to prevent it from falling into the ocean and killing some of Aquaman’s friends, but in reality he just wants to look into the Cyborg Superman’s computer to see if he can find a recipe for making kryptonite. As the heroes argue about what to do with Engine City (Hal says drop it into the water, screw the fish), some leftover Warworld aliens start attacking them, like the holdout Japanese soldiers who never found out WWII was over.
The attack precipitates the city’s fall into the water and the heroes have to think fast to prevent a fish holocaust. Their solution is for all the Green Lantern-related characters (Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, Alan Scott, Alan’s daughter Jade) to “detoxify” the debris with their powers before it falls into the ocean. And it works! These guys should totally open a carpet cleaning business.
Tumblr media
As for Lex Jr., he does find the recipe for kryptonite inside the crumbling city, but just as he’s about to write it down (he wasn’t carrying any floppy disks, apparently), Supergirl yanks him out of there to prevent him from burning alive. What an unsupportive girlfriend. Anyway, Superman then takes some of the debris and builds a giant memorial for Coast City’s 6,999,999 anonymous lost souls, and Gary. Sweet Gary. You will be missed.
Creator-Watch:
If the art looks different that’s because this is the first issue inked by Joe Rubinstein, ending Brett Breeding’s classic two and a half year run as Dan Jurgens’ main inker (so classic that it feels a lot longer than that). Breeding will be back for Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey and other stuff, though. As for Rubinstein, Don says: “At  the time, I had trouble with the transition, being soused to Brett Breeding’s finishes over Jurgens’ pencils, but looking at it now, the art looks great. It doesn’t look as smooth or blocky as Breeding’s finishes, but Rubinstein’s hatchier style serves Jurgens pretty well, even if it takes some getting used to.”
Plotline-Watch:
At the start of the issue, Superman goes to pick up Batman to take him to Coast City, only to find him wearing a different costume, acting differently, and sounding like a different guy. That’s because that’s not really Bruce Wayne in the suit anymore, but the replacement he got after Bane broke his back. That’s right: freakin’ Psi-Phon and Dreadnaught.
Tumblr media
Superman gives a speech about how superheroes must work together to prevent another tragedy like Coast City from happening, but when Guy asks him if that means he’s going back to the Justice League, he’s like “uh, not yet.” Wisely, he’s gonna wait for Grant Morrison to get there first.
Hal Jordan’s characterization in this issue is interesting. In Green Lantern #47 (which came out the same month), he’s bummed about Coast City but still hopeful and serene, while here he’s already going Parallax on us. Wonder if Dan Jurgens knew more about what DC was planning for Hal than the other comic’s writer.
Tumblr media
There’s a cute scene where Superman is flying by Kansas on his way to Coast City and quickly drops some flowers for Ma Kent. (That, or Flash picked this moment to hit on a random older woman.)
Tumblr media
Former TV exec/crime boss Morgan Edge has released an autobiography where he trashes the Daily Planet’s Cat Grant for using her sexiness (and, you know, sex) to get dirt on him and send him to jail. He also accuses Cat of being a crappy mother to her son Adam. He kind of has a point there, because what kind of mom would let her kid play with an Atari in the early ‘90s?! The SNES and the Genesis were already out!
Tumblr media
Believe it or not, Morgan Edge’s pervy dad in that screenshot above isn’t the creepiest thing in that scene. Don: “Very spooky how the guy dangling outside of Cat’s apartment goes without mention. An ominous foreshadow of one of the very few missteps of Jurgens’ run.”
Tumblr media
But the most ominous part of the issue is at the end, when Clark Kent accepts Jimmy Olsen’s offer to become roomies, since Clark lost his apartment on account of being dead and all. Don wants you to know that “Jimmy is still in that towel by the way” in the scene below. I hope.
Tumblr media
Patreon-Watch:
Shout out to our patrons Aaron, Murray Qualie, Chris “Ace” Hendrix, britneyspearsatemyshorts, Patrick D. Ryall, and a warm welcome to Samuel Doran! Last month our patrons got to read an article about Superman’s bizarre first Elseworlds appearance ever, the Kamandi: At Earth’s End miniseries, and got a veeeeeery early look at this post you’re reading right now (since Don finished his part way before I did mine). Right now I’m preparing this month’s Patreon-only article, which involves Superman wearing pointy ears and Luthor wearing make up. Find out more at https://www.patreon.com/superman86to99
Oh, and in case you missed it, we’ve been posting Don’s new commentary for older issues on the Patreon as free posts (click above and scroll down to see them). EVEN MORE from Don after the jump!
Art-Watch (by @donsparrow):
Another classic issue, and such a nice wrap-up to the "Death and Return" storyline (as well as being a much-needed check-In on the DC Universe at  large).  We start with the cover, and it’s a very good one, letting the  reader know right away that it’s a big team-up issue.  (It also is a real showcase for 90s costume design, and how weird the JLA lineup was at this point).
The opening splash is a neat image of a rarely seen pairing, Superman and Commissioner Gordon.   Jurgens draws James Gordon a little heavier and more Pa-Kent like than I’m used to seeing him, but it’s still neat to see him interacting with Superman. A page  later, we get another rare pairing—the returned Superman with the imposter Batman, Jean-Paul Valley.  The tension in the interaction between “AzBats” and Superman comes across well in their exchange, as does Superman’s doubts about who he was really speaking to.
Tumblr media
It’s a dreamy looking Superman crossing the country from Metropolis to Coast City, and I daresay that they’re trying to channel Dean Cain a little as he approaches Kansas.
The best panel of the issue though is the two page spread  of all the heroes gathering at the wreckage of Coast City, and there’s so much to love here.  The body language, and facial  expressions speak volumes about each of the characters:  Superman looking swashbuckling and upbeat, Green Lantern brooding like a man barely holding on, Green Arrow all attitude and shadow.  Just a great spread.
Tumblr media
Another cool image is Aquaman showing up late, and emerging very royally in protection of his ocean (undercut masterfully by a legitimately funny couple of lines from Guy Gardner).  Page 14’s Hal Jordan is a great drawing, and this whole storyline seems like a table setter for the "Emerald Twilight" story coming up.
The sequence of a firelit Luthor  at the computer is a good look at his madness, but it does beg the  question of just how little Supergirl seems to take in.  He was JUST talking aloud  about Kryptonite, and she emerges seeming not to hear.  The image of  Supergirl flying Lex away as he struggles against her psychic grab is a  good one, even if her uniform is depicted as a little clingier than I imagine it to really be.
Superman floating above his obelisk with his arm in front of  his face like Dracula is a cool look, even if it is a little dramatic.
Tumblr media
Lastly, the image of Clark turning up the stereo is a good one, even if his hair length is wildly  shorter here than in Coast City (and I usually dislike it when they  mention real world bands, as it comes off trying too hard to be hip).
STRAY OBSERVATIONS:
I  have to love how meta it is to have Superman outright saying that Batman is dressing more “threatening” these days,  on page 2.  I guess he couldn’t come right out and say “you have an  extreme new look, and it’s totally badass! Batman the next generation!”
Last  we saw of Supergirl she was storming out of the party on Lex’s Zeppelin after Lex II was getting all horned up at  the sight of Lois Lane, but it appears here they’ve mostly patched  things up as they fly to Coast City.
More meta-stuff: Jimmy clunkily complimenting Lois on her new hair by saying she “oughta be on TV or something!”.   This whole exchange is very expository, really, “Clark must be pretty mad… though he’s busy worrying about where he’s going to bunk…”  Anything else to get in there, Jimmy?
Tumblr media
The harshness some of the heroes have for Lex Junior seems a little out of place, especially since he’s still known to  most of the heroes as an ally from "Panic in the Sky", and the "Doomsday"  storyline.  Superman’s comment was borderline, but where is all this  anger Flash is showing coming from?
Being  as familiar as we are with these writers, there are certain phrases or ideas that a certain writer will go to way,  way too often.  Byrne had a number of stories where Superman would  “ionize” something with his heat vision, and it occurred to me that  maybe he just liked that word.  I would submit that Dan Jurgens likes the word “atomize”.  It was used by the Cyborg  Superman when talking about Doomsday, and is used a bunch just in this issue.
I find it hilarious that Hawkman appears so prominently in this issue, but doesn’t get any lines.  This issue is an  interesting time capsule—I had almost forgotten about the de-aged  Starheart powered Alan Scott era.
Tumblr media
Speaking of lines, they don’t give Captain Marvel much to do in this issue, but I always like seeing him, even if his only contribution is the odd “Holy Moley!”
Colouring error on page 12, where Hal’s ring has a red centre (maybe the colourist had Alan Scott’s red and green look on the brain?)
A raging Hal standing by Green Arrow is a sad foreshadowing of their confrontation to come in Zero Hour.

Steve and Steve - the guys from Apple, before Apple, as they take acid and head into the woods
This is fun, a fictional glance into the 70s friendship of Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs... before Apple began for them and in the days they were taking acid in the woods.  When I was growing up and first discovered the Apple II computer, I read everything I could find about these two guys, inspired by their creation, seeming to buck what the mundane thought was possible. I was amazed, without understanding it completely, that these two guys appeared to be putting a computer, and information technology, in the hands of anyone who was interested.  I remember my little kid self seeing that first Apple II, and writing my first program in basic:
10 Print "Hello World"
20 Goto 10
and stunned, watching it stream off the screen.
Anyway, apparently this creator of this comic only finished two chapters, but they are fun and maybe you'll get a kick out of them, too.
http://www.steve-and-steve.com/
Steve & Steve, is an online graphic novel by Patrick Sean Farley, about the friendship between Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, in their early HP/Atari days.

FLASHBack: Week 60 - Geeks In Love
This week on FLASHBack, we're going to look at two artists who would be strong contenders for inclusion into my First-Class category, had I sat down and planned out the whole two years of these posts ahead of time and done all my research up front first instead of shooting from the hip week to week. We've already mentioned Neil "Lemon Demon" Cicierega and his contributions to Flash before, this time around we're looking at a collaboration of his with New Zealand Flash Animator Andrew Kepple, who was a frequent poster to Albino Blacksheep under the name Too Much Spare Time Productions. In February of 2006, Kepple decided to make an animation for Cicierega's song Geeks in Love.
The animation is a trove of geeky pop culture references, some of which I will catalog here: Crop Circles, Dr. Seuss, Chococat, Spock from Star Trek, Little Shop of Horrors, George Lucas, UFOs, The Matrix -- "There Is No Spoon", Sporks, the USS Enterprise, Powerpuff Girls, The Grand Unified Theory, Dr. Demento, Yatta!, Bohemian Rhapsody, Monty Python's Flying Circus, All Your Base Are Belong to Us, You're the Man Now Dog, Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings -- "And My Ax!", the O Rly? Owl, Chuck Norris, text-based smileys of both the horizontal & vertical varieties, The Jetsons, Futurama, pink-haired anime protagonists, Mario Brothers, Amy from Sonic the Hedgehog, waffles, the I WANT TO BELIEVE poster, David Hasselhoff, Mr. T, Degrassi, degaussing CRT screens, propeller beanies, the Voyager Golden Record, pirates, subliminal messaging, the inscription on The One Ring, Pong, Stargate, Kill Bill, 1337, Magic: The Gathering, Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard, Alan Rickman as Severus Snape, Daleks, Chewbacca, Col. Sanders, Beaker from the Muppets, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog from Conan O'Brian, Potter Puppet Pals, Mystery Science Theater 3000, lava lamps, tabletop foosball, Optimus Prime, the Larson Scanner from Battlestar Galactica's Cylons & also Knight Rider, The Matrix Again -- "I know Kung Fu", DEVO, Where's Waldo, Activision's River Raid for the Atari 2600, Jeff "Comic Book Guy" Albertson from The Simpsons wearing a "Worst Animation Ever" shirt, Doc Brown & Clara Clayton from Back to the Future III, Alf, Revenge of the Nerds, Napoleon Dynamite & Deb Bradshaw, Steve Urkel from Family Matters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dee Dee & Mandark from Dexter's Lab, Hello Kitty, Sulu from Star Trek, Twinkies, Sudoku, 8008135, Cthulhu, Pee Wee Herman, Pac Man and Ms. Pac Man from the Pac Man Saturday Morning Cartoon, Velma Dinkley, and the Mandelbrot Set.   While in 2006, the mainstreaming of geek culture had already begun, geeks had yet to realize this was happening and so they clung to their old persecution complexes, seeing themselves as marginalized outsiders. Obscure pop culture references and meme-ry such as what Andrew Kepple loaded this animation down with were a quick way of identifying fellow geeks. Now a days, that's just how large swaths of people communicate online.   So as a chaser for two weeks of love in a row, I think we'll be due for some excessive violence, so check in as we go back to Somewhere in Nevada.

What are full silicone babies like? Do you collect any other items? Do people in real life besides your family know about Tommy? Do you mind sharing how you decide whether you need something for Tommy or not? Do you mind sharing how you named him and what you would name a sister for him? Is Tommy his nickname or full name
What are full silicone babies like?
A full silicone baby is a reborn baby made of only silicon. Silicon is a rubbery material. Normal reborn babies are made of something called “vinyl” which is basically a soft plastic that can be pressed in but not “squished” but silicon is very squishy!
This is a vinyl reborn baby:

And this is a full silicon:

It’s “full” because it is fully made of silicon unlike some silicon babies where only the limbs are made of silicon and the rest is cloth. Also, vinyl dolls are rarely atomically correct and therefore can be changed into any gender (assuming they “look” right that way) but full silicons cannot because they have the sexual anatomy.
Do you collect any other items?
Tons! I collect Funko Pop! vinyl figures, animatronic toys like Teddy Ruxpin, TJ Bearytales and TV Teddy, Furbys, Sylvanian Family (Calico Critters), Build-a-Bear, other types of dolls like ball-jointed dolls (BJDs), American Girl Dolls, Little Apple Dolls, Barbies (although not a lot), board games, old vintage technology like VHS tapes, records, video games and their consoles (I have an atari 2600!). Basically anything and everything.
Do people in real life besides your family know about Tommy?
I think, other than my family, just my sister’s boyfriend (and only because SHE told him, haha).
Do you mind sharing how you decide whether you need something for Tommy or not?
I mean, usually I just get what is cute but some general tips are: What would a real baby need? Think about the seasons. Think about routines. A real child would probably need to eat (so a bottle), have a pacifier, sleep (so a sleeper), go outside (maybe a hat? shoes?) it will get hot (so cool clothes), it will get cold (so warm clothes). Basically to get a good point is to know you always have something for a situation that may come up. Also a blanket is good because you can use it to hide the baby in the pram/carseat!
Do you mind sharing how you named him and what you would name a sister for him? Is Tommy his nickname or full name?
Truth be told his name comes from a television character. I was watching a lot of Peaky Blinders and I found I really liked the name “Tommy”. It felt cute and happy, something I felt was Tommy’s personality. His middle name is Patrick because I wanted something very Irish to go with my first and last name.
His first and middle name is Thomas Patrick but Tommy is a nickname that I think (if he was real) would be what we called him until he got older (in his 20s) where he might switch to “Tom”.
If he had a sister I don’t know what I’d call her. Hmm, you have me thinking now. I don’t really have an answer but maybe “Grace”.

Synopsis: In the year 2254, Daleks have suddenly invaded Earth. In a full invasion force hitting many major cities, they have set up pods for Dalek production and death rays. The Doctor, along with Ace, see what is happening and travel to Earth to stop this.
The TARDIS drops the Doctor in the sewers, forcing him to steal a Hoverbout vehicle from the Daleks to deal with enemy forces. Once on the surface, the Doctor manages to find a Smart Card, which he can use to deactivate the Dalek pods, but there is a gigantic robot that is guarding the death ray.
Once the threat in London has been dealt with, the Time Lords contact the Doctor. They tell him that Dalek forces have also taken over Paris, New York and Tokyo. The Doctor has no choice but to take the TARDIS to each of these locations in turn and deal with the same problems. Things get hectic, as the Daleks have Ogrons and Robomen patrolling the streets, as well as tons of Daleks, but the Doctor is able to deactivate all the pods and destroy the death rays.
Then, the Time Lords warn the Doctor that the Daleks have stolen the Time Ring, so he needs to travel to Skaro and defeat them once and for all. The Dalek fortress on Skaro is even more dangerous than everything he has just gone through, but he is able to make it through and defeat Davros. The Time Ring is recovered, and the Time Lords freeze Davros in a block of crystal, leaving him to float away in space.
Thoughts: This was the next Doctor Who video game. It was released on the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amiga, Atari ST, and certain PCs of the time. In many ways, it if a huge step up from video games that came before it.
The player can actually choose between the fourth, fifth and seventh Doctors. Certain versions also let you choose the second Doctor. If there is a second player, they can be Ace or a UNIT soldier. Gameplay is the same between all characters, and the game is mostly a platformer with collectables and enemies to defeat with the Sonic Screwdriver, which basically acts as a gun.
Graphically, the game looks fantastic. The likenesses of the Doctors is spot on, and it's easy to see who they are meant to be. All of the environments look great, and really feel like invaded and destroyed cities, though the different cities do tend to look a bit similar. The enemies are designed well, and the Daleks look great.
