Time travel time: a 2022 photo of a 1990 colour photocopy. Amazing what sticking something in a suitcase for 32 years will do for an image - it’s literally the Fifth Beatle of artistic production (the other four being observation, inspiration, perspiration, and Ringo). . . #art #artpractice #photocopy #1990s #timetravel #early #computing #laserprinter #colorphotocopy #stars #thebeatles #beatles #fifthbeatle #inspiration #observation #perspiration #ringo https://www.instagram.com/p/Cg2m0D8Ipyb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A bit of a commentary on inspiration and the process of creation. The name comes from the (now cliche) Edison quote "Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration."
This piece actually broke while we were house prepping for a hurricane. Instead of simply repairing I'm actually working on upgrading it. That will be... eventually. I'm halfway there so far.

🌈Chromotherapy, also known as color therapy, is a therapeutic practice that uses colored light to affect human health. These colors belong to the visible electromagnetic spectrum. When the human eye detects colors, the brain interprets them as electrical impulses that stimulate the biochemical process inside the body into physical and sensory experiences that can improve your well being.
Many of us know Thomas Edison as the inventor of the lightbulb, but he invented many other things. In fact, he received more than 1,000 patents during his lifetime. He was quite a prolific inventor. I must admit that I wasn’t very good at science when I was young and don’t know a lot about technology or electricity. My dad could make anything work but the same couldn’t be said for me. I’m glad there was someone like Edison to invent all this stuff but I have a hard time relating to his inventing prowess. However, I can relate to him in one sense… Thomas Edison failed a lot!!! Wait, what?!? Yep, Thomas Edison failed more than he succeeded. That definitely sounds like me – maybe even you. I can’t relate to his creative intellect but I definitely can relate to his persistence, perseverance and positive perspective. Edison liked to say, “No, I didn’t fail. I just found 1,000 ways the lightbulb does not work.” Even us ordinary folk can learn from the guy who said, “Genius is one percent inspiration and 99% perspiration.” We can’t give up today. We need to keep going. As Edison also said, “Many of life’s failures are people who didn’t realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” . . . #KeepGoing #MotivationalMinute #MotivationalQuote #ThomasEdison #EdisonFailures #SuccessIsAChoice #Perseverance #Persistence #Perspiration #InspirationalQuote #ThomasEdisonInvention #ThomasEdisonPatents #NeverGiveUp #NeverQuit #OvercomingAdversity #OvercomingChallenges https://www.instagram.com/p/ChC6y2tOljb/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

The typical heat load of a leaf is dissipated through three processes (Figure 9.14):
Radiative heat loss: All objects emit long-wave radiation (at about 10,000 nm) in proportion to their temperature to the fourth power (Stephan Boltzmann equation). However, the maximum emitted wavelength is inversely proportional to the leaf temperature, and leaf temperatures are low enough that the wavelengths emitted are not visible to the human eye.
Sensible heat loss: If the temperature of the leaf is higher than that of the air circulating around the leaf, the heat is convected (transferred) away from the leaf to the air. The size and shape of a leaf influence the amount of sensible heat loss.
Latent heat loss: Because the evaporation of water requires energy, when water evaporates from a leaf (transpiration), it removes large amounts of heat from the leaf and thus cools it. The human body is cooled by the same principle, commonly known as perspiration.
