I got lured in by one of those mobile game ads on Instagram due to the pretty art design. I know, I am weak, haha. Another gacha game on my list as well (Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail...) but an idle type, which I haven't played before, so it's kind of a different experience.

Things I like about it:

The art design, this is the type of look I like in my fantasy games. The characters are unique looking with a variety of different kinds instead of just super skinny women with massive melon breasts (they are there but their body proportions look more realistic). Even the npcs have a nice design to them, everything looks so whimsical.

There is sex appeal but it it isn't so in your face like other gacha games, and at least the clothing looks like clothing and isn't doing that sock boob look. The outfits are different from each other and don't have that clone as well *coughsgenshincoughs*.

We get to change the appearance of the main protagonist! Look at how good my character looks! This is what I crave from Hoyoverse games so much.

Combat seems straight forward and very easy so far, plus receiving upgrades while not playing is a nice change. Also that every character of the same class share their gear, ugh, what a life saver!

I originally played this on my mobile because I wasn't aware of it having a PC version, and although the graphics are gorgeous on PC, the mobile version does a great job at making the graphics not look bland while still performing fine.

There's not too much I dislike about the game, of course you hit those gacha walls with enemies being too strong and having to wait (that battle screenshot is a loss and from my last fight). Because it is an idle game, you do become stronger by waiting it out, so that means waiting a day or 2 to be able to progress.

The story isn't too bad, generic fantasy story that has a Disney feel to it, which I find okay, but the dialogue is what brings it down. I'm not sure if this game had voice directing, but some voices sound great while others sound flat and don't match the mood of the scene. You could always mute the voices, haha, but to people who like games being voiced, you will have a bit of a rough time with this one.

guys i have an idea for a really stupid game concept

so people get scam calls now what you do is that you keep those numbers on hand maybe you have a notebook relating to cataloguing the company, names, products, services…etc

now you find another friend who is cataloguing scam callers

now this is where the game starts you go to your friend and ask "do you want to start a scam call battle?" then the other person accepts, and you choose your strongest scam callers

then you get your phones together and get them to talk to each other whoevers scam caller hangs up first loses its pretty much pokemon but instead of animal abuse youre wasting the time of telemarketers

I found Love and Deepspace and I'm flabbergasted! I'm floored! I'm in love (with Zayne ghghghgh!! He looks like a live action photo realistic Mamoru Chiba!!)

But Rafayel caught my attention in-game. Unfortunately he's locked for whatever reason. Blarrghhhh! Edit: I meant in the cafe. I finally unlocked him there and have been getting lots of cards with him and met him in the storyline, but I like doing things one at a time. Next time, baby.

I can't wait to see how this goes. Usually it's hard for similar games to keep my attention, but this one's plot is slower and there's not so many LI's (love interests) it's overwhelming (See love 365 and others). This looks promising, not overly violent, and I love that it's an Otome game for the American market!! Those seem to be gaining popularity fast. (What's that one for switch, love dungeon or boyfriend sword or something?) Very cool we're finally getting dating games after Japan jumped on that bandwagon many, many years ago!--But I digress. Gaming for women shouldn't always be about romance, but for us singles who aren't 1000% happy being single like some Hallmark movie, it helps keep us sane. Or that's what I like to believe. Or maybe I should just speak for myself.

Edit: Also the character creator is beyond sic!! However, they should've added more skin detail and eyebags. My face is splotchy today and I have constant eyelines. And as usual, sad the default body is average weight, but happy for the dark-skinned girls that actually have options in this game. That feels extremely rare for Japanese (?) Chinese made games. (Not that I've played any, kind of just assuming here.) It would have put it over the top to have heavy skins. Frick everyone that said that Dove girl gaming campaign was crap recently!! I want my body type in games, dangit! I want the hot guy to see ME as desireable!!!!! (This is a whole other rant. Oops.)

Edit: Maybe I'm just tired, but Zayne's dry humor when you get to interact with him in the cafe is hilarious!! (My favorites are "I am not your plushie" (sir, I beg to differ, yes you are!) and "Are you trying to massage my eyeballs?" Notable mention to "Are you using your hands to measure my waist?" Give a raise to the writers! And the character designers, omg!!) I still don't know what the breathe option actually does. I kept coughing into the mic and it got really laggy. I would've been equal parts creeped out and ecstatic if he'd said something like "That's a nasty cough you have.")

*sigh* Combine these graphics with CAI and we'd probably never leave our houses or get off our phones.--No, I don't want that. CAI is bad enough. I have responsibilities. But note to future self-don't try to enjoy this game when I'm on my "night shift" taking care of my dad. It sucks the enjoyment out of it. Boo!!

Flutter: Starlight

A game that reminds me of Neko Atsume.

Let me share with you some screenshots and why I like this game so much. It's a moth collect em all.

WARNING this game has a random element and microtransactions, think gatcha game. It can be played entirely free to play however it will not be possible to get every single creature if you do. If you are prone to gambling behaviors please avoid this game. I do not consider the monetization predatory or intrusive in this game. The monetization is better than many free to play titles. I will talk about the monetization further below.

The game is played by dragging moths around, tapping on moths, tapping on flowers, tapping on ants, and waiting.

Personally I enjoy just opening up the game for a few minutes at night before bed. The music/sounds are relaxing. The moths are pretty. It does that thing to my brain that makes you feel like you did something worth doing. The effort required is minimal.

It reminded me of Neko Atsume because of the minimal interactive nature and the generally relaxing atmosphere.

I am now going to post in detail about this game.

This is generally what the game looks like:

You start off with an empty forest. You grow eggs into caterpillar into pupa into moths. (See diagram below)

You can send moths off on little missions with the owl. The owl will ask for a specific type, size, or rarity or moth. You will generally be able to optimally fulfill this request. Sometimes however you will have to send out a moth that doesn't optimally fulfill the request.

You grow eggs that you need to wait to hatch. Time required scales with rarity. Once hatched you feed the caterpillar leaves until it becomes a pupa. You need to wait several times in this process. Then it becomes a moth.

To grow your moths you need to tap on flowers to grow and collect pollen. Then you drag your moths to the pollen. Pollen levels up the moth. If you grow multiple of the same moth you can fuse them together to upgrade the moth. This increases its maximum level which then requires pollen to grow to.

Tapping on Moths will give you gold coins which you need to fuse moths, to chop away some leaves (this expands your forest), and to buy things in the shop.

Tapping on Moths sometimes also gives you glowing treats to feed to the frog.

The frog gives you special flowers that can alter the chance of getting a certain size, rarity, or type moth. These flowers can be fused together to make a higher percentage chance flowers.

Sometimes these flowers can be bought in the shop also. The shop offers items you can buy with 2 currencies. Gold is freely earned in game. Glowbucks are more premium and generally paid for with real life currency. You do get some glowbucks for logging in or doing specific tasks but generally they are much harder to acquire as a free player. I recommend just scrolling down to the bottom of the shop if you do not want to spend any real money.

The monetization is not too in your face or predatory in my opinion. No crazy pop ups. No buy this in the next 4 hours etc with warnings and whatnot. There is a 7 day timer for some items in the store itself. There is one area where they particularly try to get people to spend money (ant event) by offering better quality plant seeds and "fertilizer" that speeds up/eliminates wait time.

The snail offers various amounts of gold, items needed to expand your storage, and premium currency called glowbucks. There are only six free items per day. However you can get multiple of the 2 lowest gold amounts.

There's also 2 different types of ants that you can tap for a small amount of gold. They will randomly pop up around your forest.

The moths come from all sorts of regions and all sorts of sizes and rarity. You can get special moths from "Ant events" where typically you grow mushrooms in a garden. This is section is structured in a way to try get you to buy microtransactions but you can still get a cool moth playing free. No pictures for this as it's not happening in game at the moment.

You can also add people as friends but I'm not sure if it actually does anything as I do not have any friends.

I really love this game. It's beautiful and relaxing. Doesn't try to monopolize my time too much. Satisfying to see my forest slowly expand. I hope you love it too or at least enjoyed reading what I had to say about it.

Unpaid and unasked for advertising but This is my absolutely favorite game right now. No stress, just moving cats around. No time limits, it even suggests a good move if you don't do anything for a minute or so. And look it's got a cute Halloween themed autumn update! Bit early but I'm always in favour of year long Halloween! 🎃 and while there are ads, the one at the bottom isn't very annoying, & apart from that there's just 1 full screen ad in-between games, which, after you've played a couple times and know how to get a pretty high score, means you get ads very rarely!

There's Gachapod event in Mythic Heroes and the main price is new skin for Marduk. He, naturally, instantly became one of my favorite characters in the game and I WANT that skin!

And yes, I know it pretty much is a "copy" of Cloud on a bike in front of Shinra's building. After all FF7 Remake Rebirth was published 2 days ago (I grew up playing original FF7 back in the 90's and that's STILL my favorite FF game - and will be the rest of my life).
