Kloktober2022 Day 4— A favorite headcanon
Another belated entry! I don't think I've ever seen this explicitly written down as a hc, but I know many people agree on it: deep down the boys are all sweethearts who just need a little love to begin healing.
No fancy shading this time— I was feeling very sick yesterday and barely managed to get the sketch done, and only got around to inking it today.

Every so often I remember how much I enjoy Kingsman in general and Harry Hart in particular and end up watching the church fight sequence on loop for a while, so here's a couple of screencap redraws feat. some style experiments with coloured fineliners!
(Drawn with a combination of Ohuhu, Winsor & Newton and Copic markers, plus Pigma Micron fineliners and a tiny bit of white gel pen)

hello tams!! sorry if this has been asked before, but what supplies do you use for traditional art? specifically lineart/coloring! thanks & hope ur having a nice day/night! ☆
Don’t worry, I don’t mind answering again! I use sakura pigma micron fineliners (005 and 01) and alcohol markers to color! Ocasionally I use a white sakura gelly roll here and there. Hope this helps!

If you want to get into bullet journaling, and you want to do more than follow the ubiquitous advice of “just use a notebook and a pen,” I have some recommendations for you!
Here is a list of my favorite (relatively) affordable, & accessible supplies:
Gel pens:
Zebra Sarasa Dry X20 in .7mm
Pentel EnerGel in .7mm & .5mm
Pilot G2 in .38mm
Pilot G207 Roller Ball in .7mm
Ball point pens:
Pilot Acroball in .7mm
Bic Crystal in 1.6mm
Fineliners:
Pigma Micron multipack (black) in .7mm, .6mm, .5mm, .45mm, .35mm & .25 mm
Papermate Flair (multicolor packs) in .7mm
Zebra ClickArt in .6mm
Markers:
Crayola SuperTips
Creatology
Stabilo in .68mm
Sharpies (multipack) in fine
If you're looking for zero bleeding or low/no ghosting, stay away from alcohol markers.
Look for journals that are 100-160gsm so they can hold up to all sorts of tools and supplies.
Hope this helps!

Fuck it. I'm liking this drawing/painting of mine so much that I am going to post it here for y'all to look at and reblog. I think I might hang this on the wall even.

Watercolour pencils + water + Pigma Micron finelining pens. My first one in this style and my first proper "watercolour painting" in almost 20 years because if school taught me something, it was to hate watercolours. But I don't think I hate them anymore.

My Travel Art Kit
Tumblr media
Whether I am going on a trip to visit friends and family, getting away for a weekend, going to work, or just running errands, I am always traveling with my own little portable art studio. Keeping things simple so I don't bring absolutely everything (why would I bring all my gouache, watercolors, and alcohol markers?) I have narrowed my supplies down to the bare minimum for my travel art kit.
A quick note before I get into the details, everything I talk about in this post and more is available on my Amazon page.
Tumblr media
Starting with the pencils, I pack my 0.7mm Pentel Quicker Clicker mechanical pencil with 2H lead refill, my 0.5mm mechanical pencil with 2B lead refill, and eraser refills.
The 0.7mm mechanical pencil is filled with 2H lead for quick, light sketches and thumbnailing. The 0.5mm mechanical pencil is filled with 2B lead for rendering the sketch and adding more details.
What I like best about the Quicker Clicker model is that the button for extending the lead is in the grip instead of at the end of the pencil. This allows me to stay in the zone longer because I don't have to change how I hold the pencil to extend the lead.
Tumblr media
I bring several different erasers all with their own purpose.
I use the Faber-Castell kneaded erasers (not pictured) for lightening a sketch. I get the normal gray ones. In my experience, the color ones are a little messy.
For erasing large areas, I use Staedtler Mars plastic eraser. They do the job nicely and clean compared to most other erasers.
Sticking with the Staedtler brand, I also carry the Mars plastic eraser stick holder and two refills just in case.
For more detailed and smaller erasing, I use Tombow MONO Zero Eraser Round Tip and Square Tip.
Tumblr media
I have a couple options for inking that I bring with me and use depending on how I feel.
If I feel I want to do a more traditional, manga style line art I have my Sakura Pigma Micron Fineliner Pens to help me achieve that.
If I want to fill in some dark spots or just have a painterly, brush texture I use my Tombow Fudenosuke Hard Tip Brush Pen. This pen is very versatile too and is practically all the Sakura Pigma Micron pens I have in a single pen.
Sometimes, gel pens feel like the right choice or I need to sign something or make a quick note and don't want to use my art supplies for it. So I also pack my 0.7mm Sharpie S-Gel and 0.38mm Sharpie S-Gel pens (not pictured).
Lastly for highlights and what not, I have the Uni-Ball Signo White Gel Pen. This gel pen goes on fairly thick and doesn't pick up the pigment underneath as easily, although some alcohol marker pigments will require a few coats.
Tumblr media
Bonus: sometimes, while doing gesture drawing, I like the emphasis my favorite sketches using highlighters. For added fun, I bring an assortment of Sharpie Highlighter colors.
Finally, all of these things fit in my large capacity pencil case (as seen in top photo). This soft case fits everything I need and then some. It's double zippered so I keep my pencils and erasers on one side and all my pens and things on the other. I'm curious to know what your guys' go to travel art supplies are. Digital, traditional, or both? Let me know as a reply or reblog!

Hi there beautiful people, how's your Saturday going, today has given me the chance to actually do some personal Journalling rather than #challenge related... It's a bit of history/personal it's Plato theory 'ᴠɪʀᴛᴜᴇ ɪs ᴋɴᴏᴡʟᴇᴅɢᴇ' and how Socrates tackles this idea with his associates. But with this in mind, it's something that can be used with todays lifestyle, so with Virtue is knowledge we are able to teach ourselves to see the bad things before we act on it. Virtue is indeed all about grasping clearly what is good and why it is is good. My ex always use to say to me 'Speak kind words Hear kind Echoes' this is virtue and it's being good as good will come back to you... Do you like my sketches of both Plato and Socrates.....? Hi, I would just like to know, what supplies you use for your art. It looks amazing! Thank you!
Thank you!
I use quite a lot of art supplies from Winsor & Newton like their designer's gouache which I really enjoy painting with. I also use one of their watercolour sets quite a lot along with a smaller Royal Talens (Van Gogh brand) one. The Royal Talens brand Art Creation also has some good stuff, I have some of their gouache that I still use.
I use Staedtler pigment liners and Sakura Pigma Micron fineliners for my illustrations. The inks that I use are Winsor & Newton calligraphy inks.
In terms of paper I prefer to use thicker/heavier paper, the make doesn't matter that much to me but I would say if you're going to spend more on something spend more on the paper because there's nothing worse than trying to work with poor quality paper. I used to think I didn't like watercolour since my work would end up too splodgy or the surface of the paper would start to disintegrate - all of these problems were with the paper and not the watercolour.
I use a few different acrylic paints, Winsor and Newton's ones are pretty good so are Art Creation's ones, but there are probably better makes out there. I use various canvases, but most of them are fairly cheap (by art material standards). I've even used ones from Dollarstore and Panduro because I find it less intimidating to work on cheap canvases plus it saves money.

Another of the new prints I've been working on this month, it's Ted! I love this guy, he just gets more and more endearing, so I had to draw a proper full-colour version of him. Originally this was just going to be Ted and the BELIEVE sign, but it was looking a little plain. Then I remembered the sunflowers thing in the Amsterdam episode, and decided they were the perfect space filler. I do love how sunny the overall vibe turned out as a result, it's very fitting.
Drawn with Winsor & Newton brushmarkers, Pigma Micron fineliners, a couple of Ohuhu markers, a tiny bit of coloured pencil, and a blue Posca paint marker for the text on the sign.
(This print is part of my May shop update! It's pre-order for now, but the plan is to get them printed up in time for BHP's Glasgow Comic Con at the beginning of June, so all pre-orders will be sent out by then as well. Find my shop link on my blog!)
