Can you rec me the lawlu must-read classics?
Also, thank you for creating this!! You rock!! ❤️
Hey there, thank you for your aks! We actually collected some classics already so here you go:
Into the Sea by shishiswordsman (E)
He looks around, but the Sunny and their broken off battleground are both vacant. His crewmen and the Straw Hats are far away already, probably congratulating each other for their triumph, which means… No one else saw it happen. No one else knows that Luffy’s — Luffy’s sinking. And Law can’t swim.
talk without speaking by trell (qunlat) (G)
They’ve been fighting for days, in that complicated sort of way where everyone wants to be on the same side and can’t be.
Not a Ball or a Chain by HollowIsTheWorld (T)
Trafalgar Law grew up hoping he would be one of the handful of people to never develop a soulmate mark. Now that that hasn't panned out, however, he's willing to settle for just never meeting them. Unfortunately for him, Monkey D. Luffy is a hard person to avoid.
Your Pain on My Skin by GinnyRose (T)
In a world where you share your pain with your soulmate, Law had spent many years believing his soulmate probably hated him. And he wouldn't have blamed them – Law had been sick, beaten, shot at and had gone through hell not just once, but several times from when he’d lost his family to when he lost Corazon and in the struggling years after that. But now, at 24 years old, he knew better. Not only did his soulmate hate him, they were bound and determined to pay back every scrape, bruise, and cut ten times over. When Law finally found the bastard, soulmate or not, he just might kill them himself.
Luffy's Law by JadedCoral (G)
Law thoughtlessly starts a rumour about himself, and it doesn't take long for it to boomerang right back to him in the form of a bloody-nosed Luffy.
The Twillight Phone by huliganships (T)
Ace has a shitty handwriting. Is that a 9? A 0? An 8? Who even knows. Certainly not the person that Luffy accidentally texted.
Acclimating by justira (E)
There are things that Law learns the hard way. One is that, if you involve yourself in Luffy's life, the Strawhats will involve themselves in yours. The other is that he is allowed to want, sometimes. In which Luffy is goodness, and light, and love, and the Strawhats all saw it coming.
no matter how much everything hurts by Tsume_Yuki (T)
In a universe where you can accept half the pain your soulmate is feeling, Luffy wishes he could take it all on.
Curiouser by xairylle (E)
Law wondered whether there was any sense to doing this—reading to a younger pirate stripped down to just wearing boxers straddling your equally as naked self. And expected to be turned on while doing so. [LuLaw]
and all the things that keep us here by trell (qunlat) (G)
In which there is an invitation, and Trafalgar Law gets a second chance. (Or: the one where they get married, in secret, at someone else's wedding, and make Usopp late to his.)
My Love For You Is Choking Me by ObsidionWingsofMidnight (T)
Hanahaki disease: an illness born of one-sided love that causes flowers to grow within the infected patient’s lungs. If left untreated it will suffocate the host and kill them. The growth can be removed through surgery, but it will also remove the feelings along with the flowers. It can be cured without side effects if the feelings are returned. Law wished he had died back under Doflamingo’s gun more than ever.
Dots by petiteneko (T)
It all started out as a joke. But, there was some legitimacy to it too… (Soulmate [AU] where your tattoo shows the first thing your soulmate thought when they saw you, but same universe)
What's A 'Closed' Sign Between Friends by teaandtumblr (G)
A tired, hungry surgeon drops in after hours once and Sanji doesn't have the heart to turn him away. What he doesn't expect is for his friend and this doctor to fall in love right under his nose. A 5+1 story.
heartstrings by hopipp (fancy2na) (NR)
A retelling of events had the Ope Ope no Mi given Law a little more than he bargained for. AKA: the red strings au that's probably been done already
Meat Cute by marimoes (T)
“Meat? I’m hearing you correctly? Your dog is named...Meat?” Law asks putting together everything for the first time. His mind swimming much like his dignity at the moment. The man laughs ruffling Meat’s ears, “Yeah. Meat. Because she’s red and white like a good marbled piece of meat.” “And your name?” Law asks, twisting water from his shirt. “Luffy.”
Stow Away Captains by xairylle (M)
Law sneaks into the men's quarters of the Thousand Sunny. Zoro contemplates on how to deal with it. And Luffy, well, Luffy is just Luffy.
Sating Hunger by xairylle (M)
At the end of the day, even with all the major blunders that almost cost him his life, Law decided that this alliance had been worth it. Until he fucked it up by not being able to hold himself back from kissing Monkey D. Luffy.
This Is What Personal Looks Like by JadeFlicker (G)
So Law had thought the Straw Hats had taken the battle with Kaidou as a personal vendetta for all the tears shed by Momosuke and all sorts of new Wano friends. The Hearts captain had been badly mistaken. Apparently, this was what personal looked like. (In which, Law and the Straw Hats will get angry for Luffy when he's not able to.)
Exchanging of the Hearts by KivaEmber (G)
Post-Dressrosa AU. All they did was exchange hearts, just to make the alliance 'til death did them part. It wasn't as if they were married or anything.
Falling by chenziee (M)
The timing for Law's heat couldn't have been worse; their attack on Doflamingo was just days away, and here he was, too busy fighting tooth and nail against hormones and disgust. Law would really rather jump into the sea and drown than deal with one minute of this.

Wait for you (2 minutes, 20 years)
@lawluevents - Day 3: Promise/First Kiss @onepiece-bingo: Gone
Alternate summary: Luffy can be so dramatic for no reason sometimes, actually
[ Read on AO3 | series ]
----------
A giant plate full of food in his arms, Luffy hummed to himself happily as he made his way to a quiet corner of the Yonta Maria’s deck. He wondered if maybe he should have grabbed more of the Sea King yakitori but he could always go back, he supposed.
As long as the guys who had declared themselves Luffy’s followers without his consent didn’t eat it all.
Really, what was that even about though? What did ‘son’s cups’ even mean? Wasn’t it enough to be friends… Luffy would never understand idiots.
“Look who’s talking,” a quiet voice teased.
“Torao, don’t be mean,” Luffy whined with a pout. Ugh; he really needed to get this thinking-out-loud thing under control.
“I’m just stating facts.” There was a smirk playing on Law’s lips as he said that and the sight made Luffy deflate.
How was he supposed to be upset when Torao looked at him like that? Totally unfair.
And so, Luffy simply huffed to himself, plopping down on the floor next to Law and placing the plate in front of them. “Look, Torao. I got you food. You have to try the meat buns, they’re really good!”
“Why do I feel like you got everything that you wanted to eat?” Law asked in amusement.
“Hey! I didn’t get any umeboshi sauce even though it looked great!” Luffy defended himself.
Law snorted. “Thanks.”
“Don’t make fun of me,” Luffy drew out unhappily before a wide smile spread on his lips once more. “But I can help you finish if you can’t eat it all.”
With a smirk, Law reached out with his hand to ruffle Luffy’s hair, making Luffy giggle. And when Law didn’t retreat his hand, his fingers running through the strands gently, Luffy leaned into it, enjoying the warmth that came with it. He hummed when Law scratched softly at his scalp, moving to brush some of Luffy’s hair behind his ear.
Luffy wasn’t sure at what point he had closed his eyes but when he had opened them again, he startled at how close Law’s face was to his own. Their eyes met and the way Torao was looking at him… it was like the world around them disappeared. Luffy didn’t know how to explain it but in that moment, Law was the only thing that mattered.
Leaning forward, Luffy met Torao half-way as their lips connected for the first time.
It was a strange feeling, to be kissing someone. Luffy had seen people kiss, he knew what it meant, but he had never thought about doing it himself. It wasn’t something that he’d go out of the way to try, nor something that he had wondered about. But now, sitting on this giant ship’s deck and kissing Torao now, Luffy thought that he wouldn’t be against doing it more, as long as it was with him.
Was this what meeting your soulmate was about?
No; Luffy was sure that even if he hadn’t crushed the Birdcage with his own fists and Law’s chain didn’t get broken—just like their soulmarks had said both would happen—it wouldn’t have changed anything. Even if Law weren’t his soulmate, he would still be special, he would still be the only one Luffy would ever want to be with like this.
Because Luffy didn’t need fate or anyone else to tell him what to do, thank you very much.
Finally pulling away, Luffy gasped for breath; who knew kissing would be so hard?
“Breathe through your nose next time,” Law noted with amusement, chuckling at the sight of Luffy panting as if he had just ran all over the Yonta Maria in search of the last bite of food.
Luffy shrugged, sticking his tongue out at Torao. “Eh, whatever. It’s not like you minded.”
“True. I don’t even want more than this so I guess it works,” Law replied with a small laugh.
“See?!” Luffy said proudly. After all, he was sure Law would sooner cut him and stick him to the main mast than turn this into one of those make-out sessions that Zoro and Sanji so loved to do when Luffy just wanted to grab a snack in the kitchen. It didn’t even feel like Torao would ever want anything more than a simple kiss and to be honest… Luffy was perfectly happy with that.
He never understood what the big deal about sex and such was; it all seemed like a damn chore if you asked him.
A smile still on his face, Law leaned over to press one last quick peck to Luffy’s lips before he pulled away completely. Luffy watched with slight confusion when Torao stood up then, careful of his injured right arm.
“Are you leaving me?” Luffy asked, unhappy.
Law’s eyebrows shot up as he turned to look at Luffy blankly. “I’m just going to get something to drink. You brought all this food and not a single water pitcher or a bottle of booze,” he stated matter-of-factly.
“There was a lot to carry!” Luffy said with a pout. Really, how was he supposed to carry drinks and mugs when all this tasty food mattered so much more?!
“Yeah, yeah.” Law reached out to ruffle his hair again, a smirk playing on his lips, before he turned to leave.
Luffy huffed to himself, grabbing a rice ball off the giant plate and biting into it defiantly. “Fine! I’ll eat all of this. And I will wait for you even if you leave me!”
Law froze in his tracks, turning his head around to stare at Luffy for a moment, blinking once, twice, before he spoke up slowly, “I’m literally just going to grab a drink.”
“So?” Luffy asked. “I promise to wait for you no matter how long it takes.”
“Why are you acting like I’m your boyfriend and leaving you to go off to war?”
“Hey, you never know what might happen!” Luffy cried defensively, sticking his tongue out. “Aren’t you glad I’ll be here even when you’re gone?”
“I don’t care where you go, I’m not your nanny.” Torao sighed.
Luffy gasped, nearly making himself choke on the rice in his mouth. “You’re so mean to me! Meanie! Jerk! I hate you!”
“What happened to I will wait for you no matter what?” Law asked, barely suppressed laughter in his voice as he mocked Luffy’s words.
Luffy’s cheeks puffed up. “That’s different!”
“Is it?” Law chuckled, the smirk on his lips widening minutely before he shook his head. “I’ll be back in a bit.”
And he was gone… and then Luffy couldn’t stop the giggle from bubbling out of his chest anymore. Torao was so cute. Luffy wasn’t sure if he could bear to let him go anymore.
Even if Law really decided to leave him at some point, if he was suddenly gone from Luffy’s life forever…
Luffy would wait for him, no matter what.

spoilers up to the end of dressrosa arc here but. I can't stop thinking about how Law takes on Rosinante's will. Corasan freed him from Doflamingo and the marines and the world government and everyone that ever could have touched him at the time, but has Law really felt free? “Everything I do until I die represents what Corasan achieved” is sweet until you recognise that Law is willing (and planned) to go to the grave for that belief. Until Doflamingo dies there is always a part of him stuck in that treasure chest, constrained by what Law felt happened to Corasan due to him that day.
It's crazy how textbook survivors guilt victim Law is (I’m new here so I wouldn’t be surprised if this isn’t the first time this has been brought up), but let’s just quickly go over some symptoms:
Obsessive thoughts about the traumatic event ✅ (will go over this in greater detail below)
A sense of disconnection or detachment/need to isolate oneself from others ✅ (Law doesn't fully isolate himself but he definitely has his walls up at all times, though there are often subtle hints of him enjoying the company of the people he chooses to surround himself with. He is notably more reserved, emotionally unavailable, cold and distant than others around him, and watching closely you'll notice that even physically he has a tendency to situate himself three steps behind the group)
Insomnia, nightmares, flashbacks of the traumatic event ✅ (if we can assume some of his backstory expressed in Dressrosa are flashbacks, and also assuming that the perpetual eyeliner he wears are covering some pretty heavy eyebags. Also mention that the only time we see him resting is against Sunny's mast on the way to Dressrosa - and that was 1. a filler episode, and 2. if he was sleeping, it was very quickly interrupted by an attack by petplay guy - a nightmare in of itself)
Irritability and anger ✅ (though elements of this could just be attributed to Law's personality or a natural response to the straw hat's shenanigans, as well as Luffy's total inability to stick to a reasonable plan)
Feelings of despair and thoughts of suicide ✅ (that's Law's Dressrosa arc babe)
Now, there's many reasons why Law is unable to move past this guilt (an apparent lack of therapists in one piece being one of them) - but his inability to believe in unconditional love is likely the biggest offender.
Law may have started off (initially) with one of the most fortunate, stable beginnings, with a loving family and a big house in a rich country (wealth of which was built off the back of lies and corruption and the murder of innocent future generations - we'll get there). But he had a mother and a father who loved and nurtured Law (and were both highly respected doctors in their own right who citizens trusted and relied on). Law's happy beginnings really juxtapose the unfathomable horror that had been lying in wait in Flevance.
Tumblr media
Even when shit started to hit the fan, at a very young age (<10 yrs old), Law was already stepping up and showing love for his little sister (lying to her when she was on her deathbed, knowing full well he would likely face the same fate after reading his charts, putting on a brave face for her so she wouldn't be afraid when the screams began to reach their front door, hiding her away when soldiers sieged their home and rushing to check on his parents). Given everything that happened in Flevance, it's completely understandable that, while Law will likely never forget the love his family gave him, remembering it became twisted in the lasting memories of his home — parents riddled with bullet holes. a closet holding a sick little sister waiting for him in a house engulfed by flames. stumbling through a town of friends, neighbours, just... people he used to pass by on the street, now all dead.
Tumblr media
Seeing hell, knowing why and how it transpired, who were responsible (spoilers, the World Government; the same body that most citizens believe exist to protect them — yeah, sister "a merciful hand of salvation waiting to help" were perhaps the worst possible combination of words you could have left Law with here. Likely instrumental in having him lose his faith "I don't believe in anything anymore."), knowing he is the only survivor, and fated to die anyway due to the terminal illness that is slowly killing him because some figureheads years back were greedy and the governing powers above the figureheads were willing to cover up everything if it meant garnering a portion of wealth and maintaining influence and control. It's beyond grief, beyond rage. And there's absolutely nowhere Law can put it. No one he can retaliate against. Who could come out of hell knowing this and not want to see the world burn?
So, smart little Law escapes under a pile of bodies and goes to the one person infamously revered for being in the business of that kind of thing. And boy oh boy I can only begin to imagine how a young and impressionable Law - fresh from a genocide, with a hole in his heart and a hatred for everything still alive - had his concept of love warped whilst surviving those two years around Doflamingo and his family. A family where members are only welcome so far as they are useful to Doflamingo and his aspirations. Of course Law's going to pick up some fucked up ideas about how love works outside this little white fence he grew up and watched burn down.
Then. Enter Corazon.
Tumblr media
Their relationship may begin on shaky legs (near-juvenicide via defenestration in a failed attempt to ward Law away from sticking around) but Corazon quickly becomes the one person in the world Law can trust and rely on again. And Rosinante can only do so much in terms of healing and guiding this broken kid (yes, his position both as Doffy's brother and as a double agent made things difficult, but need I mention he was only 26! 26 when he died!) but he showed Law kindness and compassion when he was at his lowest. He had faith in the existence of a cure that Law was long past believing. Was determined to help him, even against Law's wishes, even if it meant having Law relive his trauma over and over again. Corasan becomes incredibly important to Law, giving him a reason to live beyond just destruction and revenge.
After the rest of the world had long turned his back on him, when he had been nothing but a dying puddle of rage and self-destructive nihilism, Corasan saved Law. He told Law "Aishiteru" - a very rare way of saying "I love you", never used casually due to the depth of its meaning and the massive connotations behind it - in essence translating to "I love you so much I cannot possibly imagine life without you". There's a high likelihood that at his age, Law had never heard these words before, and probably didn't quite understand the weight of Rosinante saying it at the time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Corasan frees Law, then he dies at the hand of Doflamingo, Rosinante's own brother.
All Rosinante wanted was for this poor kid to go on and live his life unburdened by his more than turbulent history and his connection to Doffy, but I think for all his planning, Rosinante's one critical error was well and truly underestimating how much him loving Law, and loving Law to the extent he did, would mean to that kid. Law really went from that ten year old hollow void sentiment of "why does anyone or anything at all get to exist when everything that was important to me is dead, burned to ashes and wiped off the map" to "I should have died at age thirteen and every second I've lived since then, I've only lived as a result of Corasan's efforts and as a personal affront to Doflamingo." This time, Law has a tangible, heinous 10 foot monster of a target to direct 1. his grief and anger and 2. justice for Cora towards, and this time he has the power and will to follow through. More than that, he believes Corasan sacrificed himself for him because he's a D. (someone destined to rain down destruction on the gods - Doflamingo, in this case). Corazon becomes a saint that Law dedicates the rest of his life to. Which is something that Law is not vocal about to just anyone he comes across, but is so unbelievably obvious once you know what you're looking at — his tattoos, his jolly roger, his crew, his ship, his ambitions, his beliefs, his fucking. custom-made Corazon jacket. all of it for this man that showed Law - at a time when he hated the world and everything in it - love. For all of six months. max.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And his whole life and personality and behaviour CONTINUES to be guided by this trauma — the way he's reckless with himself, his borderline self-destructive actions, the way he keeps telling himself that none of it would've been worth it unless Corasan's last wishes are fulfilled, the way he surrounds himself with bright people and soft things, the way it doesn't register that his crew genuinely loves and cares about him, the way he's terrified of losing anyone important to him again (and I would say this is one of his biggest downfalls as a Captain compared to someone like Luffy - who is just as reckless as Law is but trusts his crew, doesn't try to send them away, isn't afraid to let them grow and risk their lives for him like Law is with the heart crew), his inability to take a damn compliment. The way he doesn't understand Luffy AT ALL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Doesn't understand that this alliance that he's brokered means nothing to Luffy because he sees him as FRIEND. No transactions or mutually beneficial pacts necessary. Doesn't get that he's the one that inadvertently asked Luffy to be his friend, thus breaking a long chain of people (mostly parental figures and siblings) abandoning or leaving Luffy behind/no one taking the first initiative to ask to be around him. Law is complete and utterly in the dark as to why someone would ever bat for him when the stakes are this high for no other reason than because they like them and care about them as a person.
Luffy, with his playground rules where he loves unconditionally and will take on the world for a friend he made five minutes ago, perplexes Law with his sheer simplicity.
Tumblr media
When Sengoku tells Law, "Don't try to find a reason for someone's love", I do NOT think he takes it well. Because there must be a reason. There has to be. Between the two options of Corasan saving Law's life and freeing him because he believed in the will of D., or Rosinante saving him for no other reason than because Law was a kid that was loveable, and because he loved him unconditionally... everything we've learned about how Law functions up until this point suggests the former will always make more sense to him, and after everything he's been through, is most likely less painful for him to accept.

The Markless
Another series? From me? It's exactly as likely as you think. Soulmate AU, Lawlu Edition, with a side of post-Dressrosa comfort fluff (because I don't have enough of those) ❤️🖤
[ Read on AO3 | Ko-Fi ]
----------
They say that everyone has a soulmate out there somewhere. There will always be a person matching the mark decorating your skin, you simply have to find them.
Sounds easy enough.
But nothing is ever as easy as it seems when the world is separated into five seas, when it’s nearly impossible to travel through freely unless you have government permission to cross the Red Line and a Navy warship to get you through the Calm Belt. Only the strongest—or absurdly lucky—people go wherever they want and survive.
And, even if you overcome all those odds and are able to travel across all the seas, there can be other obstacles to stand in the way.
Stubbornness is one.
Blank skin another.
----------
Monkey D. Luffy didn't have a soulmate.
He knew this long before Chopper had wondered about the lack of a soul mark on his skin. After all, Ace and Sabo had searched every inch of Luffy's body when they were young, going as far as to nearly shave his hair off to make sure the mark wasn't hiding anywhere.
According to them, they didn't want to think their little brother was one of the unlucky people with no soulmate in the world.
Luffy didn't understand what part of not having a soul mark made him ‘unlucky.’ He didn't back then, and he certainly didn't get it now, twelve years later. He just honestly didn't care that he didn’t have a soulmate—hell, even if he did, he wouldn't have cared.
He had his brothers, his crew, his friends. He didn't need or want anyone else 'special' and he most definitely didn't want that special someone to be picked for him by ‘fate’. He was the captain. He was the one to judge who was a good person, who was going to be a part of his family.
And he didn't need any mark or soul connection to decide that for him.
He had always believed so but he became certain of it as he stood at the window of Dressrosa's Corrida Colosseum, his talk with Zoro and Kin’emon interrupted by Mingo, who had landed a few metres away from them. It was like he was watching it in slow motion; a building crashing to the ground, people screaming, Mingo taking a step forward to loom over Torao for a moment before he raised his gun. He was saying something but Luffy couldn’t hear him through the white noise in his ears as a pang of panic stabbed through his stomach. He did hear what came next though.
Bang.
Bang.
Bang.
“TORAO!!”
Luffy screamed as bullets were shot straight at Law, not one missing its target. Luffy lunged forward. He grabbed the bars to break them, to squeeze through them, anything… But he could do nothing but watch, helpless against the sea prism stone as dark, deep red blood pooled under Law’s lifeless body.
He hadn’t felt this scared in two years—not since he saw Ace kneeling on that platform at Marineford. Nor had he felt this much rage in equally as long.
Two years of getting stronger—for what? To be unable to save yet another person, yet another special presence in his life?
Because right then, Luffy knew. Torao wasn’t his brother, he wasn’t a part of his crew, and he wasn’t just his friend. It had been just a few days since they had met again on Punk Hazard but even so… he knew that Torao—that Law— was special. And that was all that he needed to know.
All that he needed to feel.
“Mingo!” He pushed and pulled on the bars, fighting tooth and nail to stay on his feet, to not let the sea drain all his strength. “How dare you shoot Torao!”
Mingo was talking again. Probably trying to provoke Luffy; even just his maniacal, impossibly wide grin was enough for him to know that. But… he still couldn’t hear a single word. He only needed to know if Torao was alive, if he was safe. Nothing else mattered; least of all Doflamingo.
“Torao, you better be alive,” Luffy muttered through gritted teeth.
“Luffy?” Zoro asked then, voice quiet and uncertain.
Luffy tore his eyes away from Law’s broken form, turning to look at his first mate instead. “Zoro…” He wanted to say more but he didn’t have the words, didn’t know what to say. There was only a wordless scream at the tip of his tongue.
Even so, it looked like Zoro didn’t need him to say anything. He paused for a split second but then, something like a realisation appeared on his face and he huffed, nodding slightly before charging at Mingo. “Kin! Get Torao out of here!”
It didn't take more than a few painful, frustrating moments for Zoro and Kin’emon to be shoved aside by the gambler old man, far enough for Mingo to grab Torao and take him away, out of Luffy’s sight and reach.
“Torao!” Luffy called after them. He didn’t know if Law could hear him but he still needed him to know. “Wait for me.”
Luffy didn’t like letting go of Ace’s fruit; he absolutely hated the idea of any of the people in the Colosseum even touching it. He didn’t want anyone who knew nothing about who Portgas D. Ace really was to inherit his power but…
Torao’s Voice was weak, getting weaker with every passing second, and that was the only thing that mattered to him right then. He needed to get out of there, he needed to go to the palace immediately. He wouldn’t let Mingo chain Law down any longer.
He would save his chosen soulmate, no matter what.
[ Read the rest on AO3 ]

Note: for Soulmate AU, Zosan Edition, go check out the Always with you ZoSan AU zine!! It's going to be a part of the main zine so if you have bought it, you can look forward to reading it there! But if you haven't, there will also be aftersales :D (I will post the story on AO3 too, once the project is over <3 )

i really appreciate they took this scene from dressrosa of zoro trying to say they could cut a way inside the arena "quietly", and kin'emon disagreeing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and made a similar wano anime-only scene (as far as i can tell this wasn't in the manga where the rest of the ep takes place), with luffy beside zoro, who immediately goes along with whatever zoro thinks could work for their sneak mission-

"quietly, though." - love that luffy reminds him the quiet part but doesn't discourage him from that at all. (*cough cough, the trust in zoro's abilities.. )

(it was a good plan and not their fault the enemies were already just behind that particular wall)

-and then take it positively, as more sword fight/training haki exercises for them lol i love their shenanigans sm

One Piece where everything’s the same except Cora doesn’t die but Law’s still determined to absolutely beat the shit out of Doflamingo anyway. Cut to post Dressrosa where Law gets a VERY frantic phone call from Cora who’s like what the actual FUCK I saw the newspaper this morning you went up against Doffy all by yourself?? You promised me we would do this together you little SHIT do you have any idea how fucking scared out of my MIND I was when I saw the headline and I thought something happened to you, Law I swear to god, and Law’s like yes Cora I went up against him by myself, like HELL I was going to let him lay a single finger on you. And Cora’s like THAT’S MY LINE!!! You’re MY kid and I should be the one protecting YOU!! And Law’s like what with your shitty devil fruit powers? What could you have done? You would have fallen on your ass and gotten hurt or shot or worse and I’d be too fucking worried about you to focus on anything else. And Cora’s like this conversation is NOT over but I’m so so glad you’re okay. And he starts crying and he’s like oh my GOD Law you know how insane Doffy is I could have lost you. And I wouldn’t have even known until after the fact. And Law goes all quiet and he’s like I know I’m sorry but I could have lost YOU and I couldn’t handle that. I couldn’t. And Cora’s sobbing and he’s like I love you so much Law and Law’s like yeah. I love you too 🥺
Meanwhile the Strawhats witnessed this entire conversation and they’re like. Wow okay that was a lot to unpack. Law’s got a dad and they’re very protective of each other and apparently his dad is Doflamingo’s brother?? And Law literally dismantled Doflamingo’s entire criminal organization and DIDN’T bother telling his dad about it?? No wonder he’s pissed. And they’re also like awwwww we’ve never seen Law so soft and vulnerable before 💕 and Law looks at them and he’s like. You repeat ANY of what you just heard and I WILL kill you. And they’re like ‘Mhmm okay yup we hear you loud and clear. Btw what’s your dad like’ with the BIGGEST shit eating grins and Law’s like Okay! Killing you now!! And proceeds to chase them with his katana

you know what’s sick and twisted? Doflamingo
NO THE FACT THAT DOFLAMINGO JUST HAPPENED TO BE IN FRONT OF THE COLISEUM WHILE LUFFY WAS BY THE WINDOW AND DOFLAMINGO JUST HAPPENED TO MAKE SURE LUFFY SAW HIM SHOOT LAW
SO SICK AND MF TWISTED
AND THEN LATER WHEN DOFLAMINGO IS MOCKING LUFFY ABOUT LAW BEING DEAD AND TELLING LUFFY THAT HE FAILED TO SAVE HIM (super quick summarization)
SICK AND TWISTED
fucking doflamingo caught on and is using that against them 😭😭
side note: the absolute relief that is shown on Luffy’s face when he finds out that Law is in fact still alive i just ansjsjdkddjdnfxkjcjfkf
