Alright, LGBTQ month is upon us. Time for
My OC's LGBTQ Identities.
Tumblr media
Betty Locera: Cis/Het Supporter
I was planning on making Betty bisexual, but after a while, I changed her to being straight. Though some of her siblings are LGBTQ.
Since this is the 1930's, the chances of the average person knowing Betty is a supporter, let alone know some non-hetero people, is low; Betty knows her siblings don't want the drama, so she isn't open about who they are unless she knows she can trust that person. But if she sees anybody on the street being homophobic, she will not hold back. Especially if it's her family being hurt/disrespected. She doesn't tolerate any of that hate.
Detective Sketch: Non-Binary, Asexual Aromantic (partially out)
I do have a ship with Sketch that I love (Dice x Sketch. I'm a sucker for rivals to lovers). But in their own canon timeline, I can't see Sketch being interested in relationships or sex.
It doesn't happen often, but they have had people try to coerce them into going out for a night of fun. Whether it be because they genuinely thought Sketch was attractive, or they thought they could get away without paying them for their services. Sketch has turned them all down, and refuses to share why if they ask. As such, they've gained a small reputation of either being 'very picky', or being a 'romantic who only wants their true love'. Both of these titles make them cringe.
Sketch isn't really an open person, so them being partially out is kind of because they simply don't want to talk about it with strangers. But their family do know, and they're forever grateful for being accepted as who they are.
They didn't really have anyone to accept them before, when it was just them. They didn't even open up with the care takers at the orphanage. So they didn't really know what it felt like to be accepted like this until they had their family.
Prism: Demigirl, Demisexual Demiromantic (out)
Prism may use she/her pronouns, but all dream entities are on the non-binary spectrum in some way. Prism, in particular, is feminine leaning. And when it comes to romantic and sexual relations, she can't imagine anything like that with anyone she doesn't know. Prism doesn't get how some people can have these 'one-night stands' or go on a date the first thing. But whatever floats their boat.
The night dimension does not hold the same prejudice against sexual and gender orientation the same way some humans do. So, to Prism, being out and open about her identity is just the norm. When she first encountered a visitor who was closeted, it was a shock and a half for her. Especially when she found out why these visitors stay quiet about themselves for however long. What's the point of hating somebody for who they are?
Prism wishes she could understand. But she'll offer a safe space for any visitor no matter who they are, and will try to offer as much help and advice as possible.
Poppy: Cisgendered Bisexual (closeted)
Poppy had no idea she was bisexual. At least until she saw Disney's Snow White for the first time (Queen Grimhilde was her awakening). After that, she was left very confused. She had noticed women before, but she assumed that she was just appreciating their beauty, similar to appreciating a work of art, rather than... You know, wanting to kiss them.
Regardless of where she came from, whether she was drawn from paper or she came from her two strict and stuffy parents, Poppy wouldn't really be...Entirely sure of herself for a while. Especially since she's never been with a woman before. She isn't a homophobe at all, she'll support you no matter what you do behind closed doors. But for herself, she always assumed she was straight and that sexuality was simple. So this caught her way off guard.
Even when she fully realized and accepted who she was, Poppy has a hard time telling other people. Because this is the early 1900's, she knows that her sexuality would be a problem to some people, and she doesn't want any trouble. Even with her loved ones, she's scared of not only making them hate her, but also finding out that her loved one is that kind of person. It wouldn't be until she fully trusts someone before she tells them she's bisexual, and it wouldn't be until the modern era until she becomes more open about it, too.
Any questions anybody has, I'll be more than happy to answer ^^

you wanna do continue the one you did where the s/o gets captured? Get them rescuuuued. please and thank you :D
A/N: I actually have two of these requests in my inbox, and these got really long because I’m insane and have to write every detail, so I’m going to break these up into three different posts so people aren’t stuck reading and scrolling through a 10k fic on tumblr. Ace and Law’s will be coming soon!
Characters: female reader x Luffy
Cw:  angst, drugging, near-death experience
Total word count: 2.3k
Summary: You've been captured by marines, and the Strawhats work to get you back. (Followup from this request)
Rescued by Pirates - Luffy
Luffy stood at the top of the cliff, staring down the Marine fleet in the bay. There were ten ships, and you were on one of them. Captured. Alone. He knew you were fighting, but there’s only so much you could do in a locked prison cell with sea prism cuffs.
“I’m coming.” Luffy muttered, hoping the wind would carry his words to you. “Wait for me. Don’t stop fighting.”
“Luffy, get down!” Nami pulled the captain back over the ridge, keeping him out of sight from the scouts. “If a Marine sees you this whole stealth operation is over!”
Luffy groaned and slumped to the ground. “I don’t even know why this has to be a stealth operation! If we just start smashing everything-”
“They’ll kill her.” Sanji said, and Luffy grew quiet. “If they know we’re coming, they’ll execute her now and report it to the news coo after.”
“They probably have people waiting outside her cell to do it as soon as the call is made,” Franky admitted coldly. “They don’t want another repeat of…” he trails off, and everyone knows what he’s going to say.
They don’t want another repeat of Ace. Luffy embarrassed the entire World Government when he broke into Impel Down, broke out of Impel Down, and then sailed to Marineford and freed Ace from his shackles.
“It’s possible that’s why they’re still here.” Nami’s voice was worried as she spoke everyone’s thoughts. “They’re baiting us so they can kill her. They don’t want to transport her just to have Luffy embarrass them again.”
“It would make sense why they haven’t taken off yet,” Brook added.
“Or they’re waiting for backup,” Sanji countered. “She’s a dangerous pirate, but the Navy always prefers public executions. Especially with the new leader having a personal vendetta against Luffy, he’ll want to kill her publicly if possible. I’m sure of it.”
“Then we have to go!” Luffy started to stand to his feet, frustrated with the lack of action, but Nami quickly pulled him back down.
“Let Robin and Brook handle this first part! We have to find her first before you start smashing everything to bits!”
Luffy hated waiting. Especially when there's nothing he could do to pass the time. But finally, after about 30 minutes of silence, Robin opened her eyes.
“She’s on the fourth ship in the back with the red and yellow tailwind sail. Under deck, in a prison cell. Shackles on her arms and legs, and a neck collar.”
Luffy’s eyes peeked over the cliffside to find the ship Robin was describing. He located it, and sprang forward to jump over the cliff, but strong arms held him back.
“Zoro, let me go! We know where she is!” He struggled to break free from the swordsman's grasp. “We have to go get her!”
“Hang on Luffy, we need a plan before we just jump into action!”
--
The guard change comes early today, which you find odd. Normally the Marines are dragging their feet to stand guard over your cell, but then you spot green hair poking out from the marine cap, the man next to him with a very familiar scar across his cheek, and your heart begins to beat faster.
“So, the keys?” Zoro holds his hand out to the Navy officer watching over you, who laughs in his face.
“This must be your first time imprisoning a pirate, kid,” the old man says. “We don’t keep the keys anywhere near the prison. You know how easy it would be for someone to knock out a guard and take them? Let me show you the ropes, kid.”
The old man and his colleague turn to face you for the first time in hours, ushering Zoro and Luffy to look at you now. You can see Luffy is in visible pain just from looking at you.
Your arms and legs were each shackled to the wall, and you had a contraption around your neck that looked strikingly similar to the ones the Celestial Dragons used on their slaves. Blood caked your hair and trickled down your face. Your body was littered in scratches and bruises, your clothes torn from whatever battle had happened that Luffy wasn’t there for.
“Each one of those shackles has a different key, and that neck collar too, as well as the key to the jail cell itself. Each of those keys are on a different ship, and we’ve got instructions to throw the keys into the harbor if we catch a glimpse of a Strawhat approaching the ship.
“The best part, though,” he continues, with a hungry malice in his eyes. He raises his hand to point a finger at your neck. “That collar has a fun little detonator. The Vice Admiral has the control button if it comes to that. And the collar itself administers a sedative every hour on the hour, and gives another dose if someone touches the bars.”
He smacked the bars for good measure, and you flinched as you felt a pinch in your neck.
“Honestly it’s a miracle she’s still awake. We like to hit the bars every now and then just to keep her calm. Don’t want her causing a scene now, do we?”
You were trying your hardest not to stare at Luffy. You can see the rage consuming his body as he realizes what an insurmountable task it is to save you. You squeeze your eyes shut and shake your head viciously to relay a simple message. Run. Don’t save me.
But you know he won’t listen. He never has. Not with Robin or Ace or Sanji or anyone else he’s saved against their will. And he certainly won’t do it with you either.
“I see a pretty big flaw in this whole design,” Zoro said, staring at the cell you were in. You could see he was enraged as well, but he was hiding it better than Luffy.
“Oh yeah? And what’s that, kid?”
“Can’t they just cut it?”
The old Marine let out a hardy laugh at his question. “Sea prism stone is the hardest substance in the world. Nobody can cut through that, I don't care if it’s Dracule Mihawk himself!”
“Oh, Mihawk can cut Sea Prism Stone.” The green-haired man gave a devilish smirk to the Marine.
You braced yourself. You knew what was coming. Zoro only had two swords with him, but it would be enough.
You heard a whirlwind of air swirl around you, and you could feel the weight on your arms get lighter. There were several pinches in your neck, and you could feel yourself involuntarily slip into unconsciousness.
--
Zoro had put just a bit too much power into his swings to free you, and the cuts ripped through the ship behind you. He then turned to the marines, wickedly smiling at them.
“Told ya.” He smacked the younger one with the hilt of the sword and the marine crumpled to the ground, but the older marine was fast and dodged Zoro’s attack. The Marine locked Zoro into a battle of swords, occupying his ability to get the other chains off of you.
Luffy sprang into action, running to grab you. He screamed your name as he ran to you, jumping over sea prism stone rubble and other debris to reach you. He knew Zoro hadn’t hurt you, but you were slumped against the ship wall, and he couldn’t help but think about how fragile you looked. He shook you, desperately trying to wake you up.
And then Luffy heard a beeping sound, coming from the collar around your neck. The same sound that he was helpless against in Sabaody. “ZORO!” He screamed, holding you tight.
“Forgot to mention,” the older marine grinned back at the swordsman, keeping him locked in a battle. “Tamper with the chains too much and the collar will detonate, even without a push from the button.”
Zoro tightened his muscles in horror. “Luffy, get it off of her!”
“I hear she’s the weakness of Strawhat Luffy. Let’s watch and see, shall we? Perhaps he’ll have an even worse reaction than in Marineford.” The marine's gaze was on Luffy now, eager to see him snap.
Luffy ignored the weight of what failure meant for you. He focused, letting his Haki flow through his body like he had seen Rayleigh do in Sabaody. He grabbed the collar from around your neck and squeezed, snapping it in half, and threw it away from you. In the same motion, Luffy turned and glared at the Marine, who instantly crumpled to the ground, knocked out by Luffy’s Conqueror's Haki.
“Luffy, we have to go,” Zoro’s voice was urgent. There was commotion above them coming from the deck. It was clear the Navy was alerted to their presence. But Luffy was ignoring him, desperately trying to shake you awake.
“Come on, Luffy,” Zoro insisted, stepping over the rubble. He quickly cut each of the shackles off your legs.  “She’ll be fine. I’ll carry her, you punch things. Let's go.”
Zoro put a sword between his teeth and picked you up into his arms. He saw the darkness in Luffy’s eyes, and stood back to let his captain destroy the people who had tried to take you away from him.
Luffy spared no ship. Once he saw Zoro and you were safe on the beach, he unleashed his full might against the ten ships in the harbor. His crew could hear his screams of rage from the shoreline, his pent up fear of losing you spilling out into his attacks.
When he was finally finished destroying the ships, he came back to the shore and sat silently among his crew. He pulled your unconscious body into his lap, stroking your hair softly. He stared down at you for a long time, just watching the rise and fall of your chest, his eyesight fuzzy from tears.
As the sun was starting to sink over the horizon, Nami finally spoke up. “We should go.” Her voice was hoarse, and her cheeks were damp with tears.
“Not until she wakes up.”
Sanji sighed, pulling out a few small rations of food to give the crew while they waited. Luffy didn’t eat, he just combed his fingers through your hair, willing you to wake up.
Nightfall came, and you were still unconscious. The crew could see lights on the horizon. Marine ships that were supposed to lead you to Impel Down.
“Luffy, we need to go,” Sanji insisted. Luffy refused to respond, his eyes only watching you.
“She’ll be more comfortable on the ship, Luffy,” Chopper said, trying to coax the captain back to the Sunny. “She can sleep in a bed and we can monitor her more closely.”
“It’s better for her to be back on the ship,” Sanji agreed. “And we need to get moving.”
Luffy finally nodded, giving in to his crew's request. If it was better for you, then he wouldn’t be selfish. It was selfishness that got you in this position in the first place. If he hadn’t run off on his own, if he had just stayed with the group like Nami had told him too, this might’ve never happened.
He held you close to him and walked back to the ship with the rest of the crew, not speaking. When they got back to the ship, Luffy set you down in the infirmary and stood in the corner, letting Chopper take care of you.
“Let me know if anything changes in her status.” And with that, Chopper left the two of you alone in the infirmary. Luffy sat in the chair next to your bed, holding your hand and watching you sleep, waiting for you to come back to him.
--
Before you open your eyes, you can hear the heart rate monitor beeping; you can feel the harsh light against the back of your eyelids. Beside you, you can hear soft, even breathing of someone who is sleeping. Luffy. You’d know the sound of his breathing anywhere. You feel relief wash over you, knowing you’re safe with your crew.
The light is still too bright for your eyes, so your hand reaches out blindly, searching for Luffy. Your hand finds his head, and you pat him gently. You don’t intend to wake him, but he instantly stirs from his sleep.
“Y/n?” His voice is groggy as his head lifts up.
“Hi,” you whisper, your eyes still closed. “Can you turn off the-”
His body crashes into you, cutting off your question, and you wrap your arms around him in an embrace. You can hear his broken sobs of relief fill the air. “I was so scared,” he sobbed into your shoulder. “You weren’t waking up.”
“I’m okay, I’m okay,” you say soothingly, trying to calm him down. You crack your eyes open a bit, trying to adjust to the light in the room. “Thanks to you, captain.”

Cross Guild Romance Prompt: During a battle with the Marines, Buggy gets wounded with a sea prism bullet or bomb saving a member of the crew like Cabaji or Richie. Crocodile and Mihawk can only watch as Buggy is hauled away to the medical tent while they continue to fight. Extra furious now that Buggy had been hurt, they lay waste to the Marine and win the battle. When the rush to the tent it is to find everyone devastated and to their horror the doctor is about to call time of death with Buggy laying bloody and unmoving with his chest remaining still. Mihawk and Crocodile go absolutely insane, they shove the doctor away and both proceed to try and literally breath live back into Buggy. It all seems hopeless until with a final, desperate breath from Crocodile and Mihawk full on hammering his fist to the center of Buggy's chest, Buggy's eyes burst open as he lets out a sharp, wheezing gasp and returns to the land of the living. Crocodile all but collapses after that, while Mihawk manages to stay upright while the doctors stabilize Buggy. The rest of the crew swarm Mihawk and Crocodile, hugging them, crying, thanking them, and just making them realize that they are their family too, not just Buggy's. After Buggy pulls through, the three of them have to actually address the fact that Mihawk and Crocodile literally fought off death for him. Buggy understands it plainly that men like Mihawk and Crocodile simply would not do such a thing if they didn't love him for real, though these stubborn mules refuse to admit it.
Even if he’s really cowardly, Buggy was raised by Gol. D Roger, who seems to be a person that values loved ones more than treasure and things like that. I don’t which, a seaprism bullet or bomb. I’m thinking seaprism bullet after all Buggy survived his own Muggy Ball to the face at Marineford and those things are powerful for their size.
Not the doctor going to call time of death, then Mihawk and Crocodile literally shoves the doctor away. Poor person, I feel like they in the air a bit before falling away. Anyway, Crocodile and Mihawk trying their best to keep Buggy is so heartbreaking sweet.
It worked! Buggy is okay in the end, and he has clear evidence of the two powerful men liking him, no matter how much they refused. I feel like Buggy would be teasing them and they can’t do anything because Buggy’s doing that when he’s on bed rest.

Day 1, Cuddling
Rating: Fluff, with some trauma dumping for spice.
There are spoilers for one of the endings here.
Spoilers for Shadowheart’s romance of course. This was barely beta read, I had my sister look over some of it. So my apologies for any typos or if some things do not make sense. I am trying my best :D
Female Drow, Cleric of Kelemvor. Entertainer background.
The sunlight slowly shimmered into the old cabin’s room, Minette rolled over in her bed that she shared with her dear lover, her dove, Shadowheart. Three weeks since the city of Baldur’s Gate was saved. Three weeks since Minette finally broke the chains of the tadpole that squirmed in her brain. It was still weird for her not to travel into the mind that was once the emperor, the Astral Prism that no longer exists.
Minette slowly sat up in the bed, no longer did she have to worry about time. She and Shadowheart could take it one day at a time now. However, Minette knows that she will need to return to her job as a Cleric of Kelemvor one day. To comfort the ones who have seen death.
That death would mostly be from mind flayers. Minette was about to get up when she felt the hands of the half-elf wrap her arms around her waist. The smell of amber and moonflower welcomed her senses. “Mornin’ Dove.” Minette chuckled, she turned towards her lover and placed a kiss on Shadowheart’s cheek.
Shadowheart moved the white hair out of Minette’s eyes, once at the beginning of the journey to remove the worms in their heads Minette’s hair was long, tied back into a bun, and had bangs that shaped out onto the right side of her head. Now Minette embraced change and cut her hair short, now the white hair covered her face again but on the opposite side. The curls of her hair framed her face perfectly in the eyes of Shadowheart.
Shadowheart kissed the pale Drow and pulled her back into bed, “Can’t we just stay here for a bit longer?” Shadowheart asked, her voice was groggy, the want of sleep still in her voice.
Minette thought for a second, she traced the hands of her lover for a second before stating her answer, “I think Kelemvor would understand if I take a small vacation.” Minette could never say no to the beautiful woman in front of her. She felt like her god blessed her just to meet this woman, even if the circumstances were of death.
Minette found herself smiling more because of this gift in front of her. Her body got comfortable in the embrace of Shadowheart, “You know, I never asked how you lost vision in that eye of yours.” Shadowheart yawned, her tired eyes took in the face of her lover like it was the most beautiful thing she saw. Minette knew it was only fair that she told the story behind it.
“My adoptive mother, wanted me to be like my sister so bad. Both are Lolth-Sworn. I did not wish to be. Mother thought there was something wrong with me, she took a blade to my eye. Said that maybe Lolth would still spare herself if she did something to the unfaithful child she took in.” Minette knew there was nothing she could do at the time since she was still young during the time.
“You did not deserve that. You helped our old group of weirdos with their issues, what about yours? I think it will be great to see how the vampires in the Underdark are doing anyway.” Shadowheart wanted to do something to help the woman who selflessly helped her.
“There is no need, the woman is now with her god. Your issues were still present.”
Shadowheart’s hatred didn’t reside for the woman she only heard about, death was too good for the monster. But for now, she just wanted to hold her Charon.

SCP-404: Abomination #1
Item #:  SCP-404
Object Class:  Apollyon
Special Containment Procedures:  SCP-404 is to be contained in a standard humanoid S-2 containment cell, but has permission to roam around the Site as it pleases. The cell must be deprived of any colors and furniture and will only be decorated or furnished further if the subject specifically requests it. Any monitoring equipment placed inside the cell must be small and hidden. Attempts at interviewing SCP-404 must be treated with caution. Under no circumstances are direct testing procedures are allowed to be performed on the subject.
SCP-404's requests must be approved immediately but not before undergoing intense review to discern any attempts at breaching containment or harming others. So far, the subject has requested:
A bean bag
A Samsung QN90B Television
Knitting needles
Myopic glasses
Various kinds of yarn
The Russian Drama TV Series Undernovela
Doll stuffing
Description:  SCP-404, also referred to as Error, is a black glitchy skeleton monster with a color palette mainly consisting of dark reds/reds, dark blues/blues, yellows, oranges, and blacks. The subject has two unsymmetrical eyes, one a small yellow pupil and the other a circle with yellow, blue, and black. Its preferred attire is a black hoodie, a red shirt, black shorts, and black slippers. The subject's body seems to be in a state of constant glitching with its pitch shifting through different octaves in a short period of time.
SCP-404 is able to summon multiple dragon-head-like blasters, which will fire black energy beams capable of obligating everything on their way. It can also produce sharp bone structures and use high-density blue strings. If tied into a victim's 'SOUL', the subject is able to use the strings to puppet them to its liking. A brain scan displays that instances of SCP-404's victims are still conscious and highly aware of their physical states.
SCP-404 has told the Foundation that it is fully capable of reality hopping, and while there is still some doubt, many believe that this ability is what allowed it to escape on [REDACTED]
SCP-404 has a domain that, at first glance, seems to be made of nothing but whiteness. SCP-404 names this domain the Anti-Void. Testings on the Anti-Void have been unsuccessful due to the subject's uncooperative nature.
SCP-404 displays a highly volatile and unpredictable personality, having had several mood swings that often result in mass destruction, especially when things don't go its way. Aside from a few exceptions, the subject is hostile to all living beings, expressing clear delight in tormenting the D-Class and Foundation personnel alike.
It is a certainty that SCP-404 is capable of breaching containment anytime and only chooses to stay out of its attachment toward a few of the Foundation's personals. These people include:
Dr. Sans
Agent Red
Agent Blue
Dr. Outer
Dr. Ink
"SCP-404 definitely holds a special fondness toward Dr.Ink, but sometimes it acts almost... guilty around them. There's something we still haven't known yet. Further investigation is required.
-Dr.Sans"
Observations have desmonstrated that their presence has a pacifying effect on the subject and it will not hesitate to terminate anyone who tries to bring harm to the them.
No one knows the origin of SCP-404, even itself. It was found by Dr.Blue from Site [REDACTED] on DD/MM/YY in a distressed and confused state. Three months after its recovery, SCP-404 breached containment, resulting in the death of hundreds of people. Any attempt at re-capturing it had not only been futile but also disastrous to both the surrounding area and Foundation's resources. It wasn't until the success of  Agent Prism that SCP-404 is once again contained.
Addendum SCP-404-A: Although SCP-404 may have an attachment toward Agent Red, please under no circumstances should we let them in a room together. SCP-404 will belittle him, and Agent Red will push back.
Addendum SCP-404-B: Do not let SCP-404 meet SCP-90. We don't need what happened in Incident 2112 to happen again.
Addendum SCP-404-C: Any relation SCP-404 may have with the missing Dr. Geno has never been verified and anyone who tries to spread rumors that may indicate otherwise will be punished accordingly.

His mom’s (mortal) a famous model turned designer and his dad was working with a famous magazine which was a part of their family company but left (to distance himself from the family) and became a stay at home dad.
He has a rather unstable power of prophecy. Sometimes when it’s big one, or when he can’t control his powers, he has a similar episode as Rachel, but with the words getting brunt on his skin, in Latin. The scars disappear seconds after the prophetic episode, and it’s like nothing happened tho it leaves him with a ton of side effects, ranging from dehydration, nose bleeds and intense body pain. For smaller ones his eyes glow while he reads a from the stuffings. That just leaves him with dry eyes.
This I consider canon: He’s trans 🏳️‍⚧️ and bisexual.
Jason + Reyna + Octavian, the ultimate trio. Until Octavian drifted apart due to jealousy, inferiority complex and his family’s pressure on him.
Now the random ones ✨
He learnt to play the piano professionally.
He played COD with Travis Stoll for two years before the events of TLH, unbeknownst to them that the other is from the enemy camp. (His name was thedaggerofCaesar88)
He says his favourite colours are purple and maroon but in reality it’s cyan.
He had a bowl cut as a kid, and got made fun of for it, so he cut it his hair himself but it became a choppy undercut. He grew it out for a year and later cut it like Jason’s.
Closest BTS fan. He’s got all his merch hidden away.
Was appointed as Jason’s babysitter after he came to camp. (Has used the “I raised you” guilt trip)
Can’t whistle.
Has a high spice tolerance, but no one believes him.
Has three tattoos.
He writes in cursive.
He once landed a triple Axel.
He was really close with Michael.
He bit someone once
He has got a ‘David’ in his name somewhere
Big fan of Noir films
Has an old school music taste. Ranging from Classic instrumentals to 50’s classics
Has an emotional support Teddy Bear.
Refuses to curse. But the moment he’s outside of CJ, lord have mercy
Loves Melon bread with honey
His skin reflects light. He’s a fucking prism /j
That’s all I got for now 🥹

I had to briefly pull Astarion out of camp to bust one of the locks in the southwest corner of Moonrise, which was chilling with a 30DC. Even with his significant bonuses, this was a major challenge (and we need to make a merchant circuit to buy more lockpicks), but it did get us an inspiration from Karlach titled "Never Liked Stairs" for breaking into a restricted area in Moonrise from an outer balcony.
All of this was very worth it, of course, because there is an UNDEAD PUPPY in this room!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Narrator: Even stripped of flesh, the war-hound is formidable. Spectral eyes meet yours as it growls a challenge. And then it hesitates, gleaming muzzle sampling your scent as if in...recognition?
Tumblr media
Pardon me while I pack bond with this creature instantly.
I had to blow all my inspirations to get Hector to pass this animal handling check, but we did it!
[ANIMAL HANDLING] Lower your eyes - you're no threat.
Tumblr media
Narrator: The hound relaxes, clearly accustomed to this show of deference within its master's chamber. It turns away and utterly ignores you, as it would any lowly foot soldier.
OK, not quite the show of friendship I thought I might get, but we can pet it at least!
Gently reach out to pet the hound.
Tumblr media
Narrator: Warily it watches you approach. There's no flesh or fur to scratch at, only bone and cold metal...but it seems the touch is enough, and for a moment the undead beast is just another dog happily wagging its tail.
Tumblr media
Aw. :D
This will probably go down as the only marginally pleasant thing to happen to Hector anywhere inside this tower, and well worth the ten lockpicks I had to spend to get in here.
There's also a number of interesting documents to read in this room, which seems like it might be Ketheric's office. Interesting bits include:
Gortash - the asshole who sold Karlach to the Hells, among other things - is in communication with Ketheric about the hunt for the Astral Prism. His attitude seems to indicate that he might be higher ranked in the cult than Ketheric, too, although I'm not sure.
A number of maps with invasion plans for various major cities.
An Absolutists uniform that we could use for a camp outfit (but probably won't).
In a locked chest, a very loving letter from Ketheric's wife, apparently written soon before she died. (Hector and Gale both got inspiration for this, and Hector commented, "A letter from Ketheric's wife. It sounds like she loved him very much." Hector is turning into a romantic. ;) )
A book titled "Elder Brain Domination" hidden under a floorboard, which...seems BIG MAJOR.
This latter, the book, is very concerning actually. It is a transcribed dictation by Ketheric, and describes "Gortash's plan to enslave an illithid elder brain and make it our marionette under control of the Crown of Karsus." Is that what the Absolute is? An enslaved Elder Brain?
It goes on to say the plan "has proceeded almost without flaw, barring the slight delay while our Bhaalist allies sorted out their leadership conflict."
???????? WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT ??????????
Oh man it goes on....
"The weak point must surely be the sharing of the Netherstones - it was necessary to secure my engagement and that of the murder cult, but eventually it's certain to fracture our fragile alliance. Clearly, all three Netherstones must be controlled by a single leader - me, by preference - but not until after all the stakeholders have made their essential contribution. Gortash fears that, energized by the dark energies of the Crown, the brain we now call the Absolute will eventually metamorphose into something new and more difficult to control."

The Meaning of Justice
The Meaning of Justice: Nanohana (Alabasta part 1)
You’re a Marine who’s always been taught to trust the process. And you always have, until you meet a certain pirate who won’t stop pestering you to join his crew.
Loguetown < | > Alabasta pt 2 | All Chapters
Characters: female reader, Strawhat crew, Smoker, Tashigi, Portgas D. Ace, Vivi
Word count: 5.2k
Cw: Alabasta Spoilers, kind of Ace x reader a bit but it’s meant more as platonic
A/N: Alabasta became VERY long VERY fast, so I’m breaking this up into two or three parts. Part Two will be released next week. Also – this storyline will be going along with the anime, so Ace is with the Strawhats while they travel through the desert, rather than leaving them after destroying the Baroque ships. (I’m sorry you guys I just love Ace so much)
--
You didn’t meet Luffy again for three weeks. The Strawhats were quite good at evading the Navy when it came down to it. Once it became clear they were heading for Alabasta, your ship took a more direct route and managed to beat them to the island. Now, it was just a waiting game.
You spent your free time studying the wanted posters for Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro, as well as going over all the notes and reports of their known accomplices. The tangerine-haired firecracker Nami, the blonde cook Sanji, and the long-nosed liar Ussop were the individuals who made up the Strawhat Pirate Crew. If you ever got the chance to meet him again, you would shackle those sea prism stone cuffs around his wrist and send him straight to Impel Down to pay for his crimes of piracy, destruction of property, and several other offenses that seemed to grow by the day. Justice would be served.
Tashigi and Smoker had gone onto the island to do more reconnaissance with about half of the navy crew. Apparently there were rumors of an even larger bountied pirate on Alabasta, and Smoker had wanted to sniff out fact from fiction. You had stayed aboard the boat, having the men watch for any sign of other potential problems in the port or at sea.
A young man rushed in, startling you. He looked frantic and nervous, which made your skin tingle with alertness. “There’s a report in! Strawhat was seen leaving Nanohana on a ship heading west.”
You muttered out a few curses in frustration. That crew was so damn slippery. “Get ready to set sail. Let’s follow them.” You led him out, ready to give the command to the other members, when you realized that you could see the Strawhat ship sailing past you. It was cruising at an alarmingly quick speed, and you knew you would never catch it with a clunky old ship like this one. Whoever their navigator was must be exceptionally skilled.
“Change of plans,” you told the kid next to you. “I’m taking the Wind Viper solo to track them. Let Tashigi and Smoker know when they return. Have them follow my vivre card.”
You could hear the kid start to object, but you jumped over the side of the ship and landed on the single person boat before he could say much. You knew you were probably making a decision that would end in a demotion at best, but you refused to lose Monkey D. Luffy again. You had sailed solo boats like this since you could walk, and with some luck, you’d be nimble enough to catch them and follow them without them ever being any wiser. You quickly unknotted the Wind Viper, freeing it from the mothership, and grabbed the ropes to adjust the sails.
The wind was in your favor today, you could feel it in the tension on the ropes. The Strawhats capture was inevitable with this kind of luck. You would just have to hope that Smoker would be able to look past you abandoning your post once you were able to lead him directly to the Strawhats.
You managed to catch the wind perfectly and close the gap between you and the sloop the Strawhats were on. You remained a practical distance away from them, enough to watch the ship but not be noticed by its crew.
You had to keep reminding yourself that your goal was to follow and track them, so that your crew could capture them together. It would be highly unlikely any one person could capture all the Strawhats at once. Even Smoker would have difficulty with that. But if you could lead the fifty members aboard your ship to the Strawhats, you estimated your chances were closer to 95% success.
Suddenly a fleet of ships appeared on the ocean from behind a haze, blocking the Strawhats from advancing any further. Unsure if they were friend or foe, you pulled out your spare set of binoculars to look for identifying information.
You barely have time to make out the “BAROQUE” wording across the sails before a giant flame pierced and splintered the ships into pieces, crumbling into the sea.
Your heart sank and you instantly put slack on the ropes to the sail, letting your speed die down. You knew you needed to keep as much distance between yourself and the Strawhats without letting them get away. You knew of only one person who could make devastation that quick. The rumors of his presence in Alabasta were true. Whitebeard’s second division commander was here, and he seemed to be allied with the Strawhat pirates for some reason. Questions spun in your head as you tried to process the information you just received. Was Fire Fist recruiting them? How and why did the Strawhats already trust him enough to have him on board their ship and sail out to sea?
You were broken from your thoughts when the Strawhat ship turned into the mouth of a river and headed up stream. You waited a few moments, and then continued to follow them cautiously. By the time you found their ship, it appeared to be docked and, after a stealthy sweep, you realized it had been abandoned by the crew. You considered waiting by the ship for backup, but an empty ship wasn’t really something worth getting demoted over. You grabbed a few snacks and water from the kitchen area and jumped onto land to try and track the missing pirates.
Is it really stealing if you're stealing from pirates? You could feel the internal battle of taking food that doesn’t belong to you begin in your mind. They probably stole it anyway, so it’s fine. When you found them, you would ask. After they were in handcuffs, of course.
Amid your internal war, you almost failed to notice the kung-fu dugongs that were now charging at you, fists raised and ready to fight. They were squeaking at you, pointing between you and the ship, and a few of them had various items they were holding onto.
“No, no! Stop! It’s okay!” You were trying desperately to get the dugongs to stop threatening you, but they just kept shaking their fists and pointing between you and the ship.
“You know the Strawhats, right? Luffy?” His name seemed to calm them down slightly, but you could tell they were still angry. “Hey wait! Luffy, I know him! We’re friends!”
You hated to ally yourself with a pirate, even if it wasn’t true and the only witnesses were these animals. “We got separated a while back.” That wasn’t necessarily a lie. “I’m looking for him! Can you tell me which way he went?”
The dugongs exchanged glances and chattering noises, and then one member came out and pointed in the direction of the endless desert. Of course. Leave it to the Strawhats to take a daunting excursion through the desert for no reason. “Thank you! Thank you so much!” You gave him a spare rice ball you stole off Strawhat’s ship and started walking in the direction the creature pointed.
After only a few minutes of walking, you looked around and realized you had probably made a fatal mistake. You couldn’t see or hear any sign of life around you, and the wind had covered your tracks. The only thing you have to guide you is the sun, which is still beating down harshly on your uncovered skin. You didn’t exactly plan for a trip to the desert. You didn’t even have a hat to shade your eyes, just a short-sleeved shirt and flowing pants, paired with your closed toed shoes.
You resisted the urge to take a drink of water, knowing your resources were extremely limited. But you couldn’t turn back now. This would be an even greater failure than the boat. You recalculated the trajectory of the sun and the direction the dugong pointed you, and kept trekking forward, certain this was the only path you could take now. For better or worse.
After an hour or two, you noticed the first sign of life that you’ve seen since you left Nanohana. Buildings, now turned to rubble, lay strewn throughout the sand, and you found the first piece of shade that you’ve seen since you entered the desert. You laid down in it, curling up so no part of you was touched by the harsh sunlight. You’d stay here until Captain Smoker found you. Perhaps it was better to be dishonorably discharged than to be dead. You dozed off, exhausted from the walking, and decided you’d be content with either outcome at this point.
--
“I think she’s still alive!” The feminine voice was hushed and urgent, laced with concern.
“Chopper! There’s someone here! She needs help!” The second voice was louder, unbothered by the possibility of you waking up.
Your eyes flicked open, searching for Smoker’s signature look of disapproval. But he wasn’t there. “Smoker,” you started, assuming he must have been behind you. “I’m sorry about this-” You sat up abruptly, still searching, and your sudden movement caused the two girls close to you to scream out in fear. Their screams prompted other bodies to appear around you almost instantly.
“What is it, Nami?” The familiar voice sent ice through your veins, despite the heat in the air. “Did you find something good to eat?”
A small animal approached you holding a medical kit, and he reached out his hoof to you. He looked concerned, and when he spoke, you could tell it’s genuine. “It’s okay. You’re safe now. How are you feeling?”
You couldn’t bring yourself to respond. Your head was pounding from dehydration, and the world seemed to be tilted at the wrong angle. You couldn’t help but feel an equal amount of excitement and dread from the whole situation. You were surrounded by the Strawhats, all of them were right here with you. And yet, you had no way of letting your captain know he’d be walking straight into a trap when he finally found you.
You did a quick headcount. Nami, Sanji, Zoro, Ussop, Luffy. They were all here. Plus a blue-haired girl and the…was he a reindeer or a raccoon? Neither of them were in any reports you had read. Perhaps they were hostages, or new crew members.
“Hey wait…” You caught Luffy eying you curiously from afar, studying your face. “Don’t I know you?”
The girl named Nami spoke up before you could respond. “Luffy! How the hell would you know her? Vivi would be more likely to know this person, given that it's her kingdom!”
Vivi. You recognized that name. She was the princess of Alabasta who hasn’t been seen in a few years. And now that you looked at her, you could see the similarities from the photos of her as a child. The princess must’ve been held captive or formed an alliance with the Strawhats. Based on the group's demeanor, you’d guess the latter of the two.
“Nuh-uh. I know her” Luffy shook his head in stubbornness, addressing you now. “Hey, how do I know you?”
“Whoever she is, she’s gorgeous!!!” The blonde man’s eyes practically became hearts looking at you. “Is there anything I can get you, my dear?”
This definitely wasn’t how you imagined a crew of such notoriety to act. It almost pissed you off how carefree they were acting.
“Don’t help her.” A deep voice came from above you, and you could see a figure perched on some rubble. You hadn’t realized anyone else was in the vicinity. “I don’t know how you know her, Luffy. But she’s a marine.”
You felt a shiver down your spine. You had forgotten about the Baroque ships, forgotten about Fire Fist. You feel the tension in the air skyrocket, the various sounds of each member shifting into a fighting stance.
Luffy smacked his hands together and shook them in triumph. “Direction girl!” He proclaimed. He either hadn’t heard Whitebeard’s commander or was electing to ignore him. “You gave me directions to Gol Roger’s execution platform in Loguetown!”
Luffy jumped over to you without a care in the world, extending a hand to help you to your feet. “You know, if you wanted to join my crew, you could’ve just asked in Loguetown. You didn’t have to follow us all the way here!”
His complete obliviousness took you by surprise, and your mouth opened in shock. “Wha-”
Nami interjected before you could even finish the word. “YOU IDIOT!!!” She screamed, knocking him on the head. “She’s here to capture us! Not to join the crew!”
“Ouch, Nami! That hurt...” Luffy rubbed his head and looked down at you, scowling. “Are you sure you’re a marine? No offense, but you don’t exactly look like one.”
“She’s been following us since we left Nanohana.” Fire First jumped down behind you, and you could feel his warmth from a few feet away. The rest of the crew exchanged glances with each other, shocked by the information.
Nami was the first to recover from the news. “Nanohana? And you’re just now telling us this, Ace?”
So, the Strawhats were on a first-name basis with the fire user. You would have to put that in your report. If you made it out alive.
“Sorry,” Fire Fist shrugged. “I just really didn’t think she’d make it this far.”
Everyone stood where they were for a long while, nobody sure what to do. You couldn’t help but feel like they were all waiting for a decision to be made. A decision to let you live or to kill you. But nobody was making the final call.
“Well?” Luffy was looking at you expectantly, as if he were waiting for you to act.
You stared back at him. “Well, what?”
He had the audacity to look at you as if you were the stupid one. “Are you gonna try to capture us?”
You hesitated and looked around at the members you faced. Roronoa Zoro had his grip on one sword, ready to unsheathe it at any moment. Usopp was holding a loading slingshot, and you got the feeling he wouldn’t be missing. Nami and Vivi were keeping their distance, but were staring daggers into your soul. Sanji was lighting a cigarette, sitting on some rocks nearby. The small creature that helped you earlier was attempting to hide behind some rocks behind the cook. You could feel heat radiating from behind you, indicating that Fire Fist would blast you before you even got a chance to move. And Luffy, that idiot pirate was staring at you with his big, curious eyes.
“No.” You finally answered, and you hated yourself for being a coward, for not fighting until the bitter end like a true marine should. “No, I’m not going to capture you.”
A grin spread across Luffy’s face, his eyes lighting up. “So you did come to join my crew!”
“Also no!” You spat out the words at him, and you heard a few people chuckle. “I just want to get out of this damn desert!”
It was partially true, but if the Strawhats kept you around as a hostage, Smoker and the others would be able to find you. You’d just have to trust that Smoker could evaluate the situation and make the right decision when it came down to that.
Luffy laughed, and you found yourself smiling along with him. He had a laugh that was full of warmth and kindness, one that was contagious to those around him. You didn’t want to admit it, but you could see why someone like Luffy had amassed so many crewmembers in such a short amount of time.
“I wouldn’t trust her, Luffy.” The others had relaxed with their captain, but you could feel Fire Fist’s eyes on you from behind. “We should tie her up if she’s going to travel with us.”
“Nah, it’s fine Ace. If she said she’s not gonna capture us, then she’s not gonna capture us.” Luffy turned his attention away from you and towards Sanji. “Hey Sanji, when’s lunch?”
“Tch. You’re too trusting, Luffy.” But the heat from behind you receded, and Fire Fist passed you to regroup with the Strawhats. His Captain’s jolly roger displayed proudly on his back made your eyes widen at the site, but you said nothing.
Sanji blew out a puff of smoke before answering his captain. “Lunch isn’t for a while, we still have a lot of distance to cover.”
“Awwww,” Luffy moaned. “But I’m hungry now!”
You pulled out your small stash of rations, picking out a rice ball and holding it out for him. “You can have this, if you’d like.” Technically, it was the Strawhats food anyway. It’s not like you were losing out on much.
Everyone’s eyes widened in panic, but before anyone could object, Luffy was next to you.
“Wai-” Zoro reached out to his captain, knowing it was already too late.
You could see that his lips were around your arm, and you could feel the wetness of his tongue against your fingers, but it still took you a second to process exactly what was happening.
“DON’T EAT ME, YOU MORON!” You kicked him in the stomach, which caused the rubber man to cough, and you pulled your hand out of his mouth as he fell to the ground. You scrambled backwards and pressed yourself against a rock, desperately trying to get distance from the boy who just tried to eat you.
Ace and Zoro rushed toward Luffy, who was still recovering from being kicked in the stomach. “Hey Luffy, spit that out!” The two pirates fell to their knees next to the strawhat boy. “Spit it out!”
“No…way.” Luffy was on his hands and knees, still coughing from your blow. “It's all…mine.”
“It could be poisoned, you idiot!” Zoro slapped his captain’s back, trying to help him catch his breath.
“I wouldn’t be so dishonorable that I’d poison food.” You wiped the slobber off your hand and finally stood up. “I didn’t even kick you that hard, Strawhat. Don’t be dramatic.” Fire Fist and Zoro both shot you irritated glances, but they seemed to relax a little bit.
By the time you finished repacking your supplies, Luffy had finally recovered from your stomach kick. Luffy stood next to you again, eyeing your pack. “Those were really good! Do you have more?”
“Not for you.” He frowned at you and sulked away. You felt a twinge of guilt at the harshness of your words, but you quickly shoved it from your mind.
“If you’re going to be traveling together,” Nami said, looking at you unenthusiastically. “We should probably all know each other’s names.”
“Right! I’m Luffy! That’s Zoro, Sanji, Nami, Vivi, Chopper, and Ace!” Luffy pointed at each member of the circle as he introduced them, but you had already known everyone’s name except the raccoon.
“And I’m a reindeer!” Chopper shouted, as if he had heard your thoughts.
“Got it. Chopper the reindeer.” You see the small reindeer blush as you say that, and he ran to hide behind Zoro as you introduced yourself to the crew.
“We really should get moving.” The Princess’s words were laced with concern as she looked out to the horizon. "We're running out of time.”
Her words hold the weight of a country, and you can feel the heavy burden she’s carrying for just a moment, though you’re not sure why the weight is so heavy.
“Princess Vivi,” You began walking alongside her after a little while of walking. “If I may ask. What exactly is going on? Why have you allied yourself with the Strawhat Pirates and Fire Fist?”
Her words were full of bitterness as she replied. “Because they actually want to help me save this country, unlike the Navy!” The harshness of her tone startled you, but she regained her composure after a moment. “I’m sorry, I know it’s not your fault. It’s just…” she searched for the right words.
“It’s what I’m a part of.” You could feel the others listening in on the conversation, a mixture of caution and curiosity.
“What you’re a part of,” she echoed. Her eyes stared intensely at the ground below her as she searched for the words to say next. “The Navy has known about the issues in Alabasta for years, and they’ve never done anything to help its people. They claim it’s not their business to get involved in country affairs, but...” she paused, and you could hear her voice starting to become thick with tears and frustration. “It hasn’t rained here in three years. It’s not a natural phenomenon. Someone is sabotaging Alabasta! Someone is hurting my people! And the Navy won’t even lift a finger to help! The only reason they’re even here right now is because of Luffy and Ace!”
You knew you weren’t the one who made any of these calls. You knew that decisions like these came from far above you or Tashigi or even Smoker. Decisions like these come from people who have been in the Navy for far longer than you’ve been alive. Yet, you can’t help but feel shameful on its behalf. Because Vivi was right. The only reason you were in Alabasta in the first place was because you were tracking down Strawhat Luffy. You hadn’t even known that Aaabasta was on the verge of a war.
You had no words to give her, and you knew even if you did say anything, it wouldn’t sound genuine anyway. The silence was as thick as the desert air, and you could see Vivi wiping furiously at her face to dry her eyes. You decided the best thing to do was gather information instead of making empty promises. Your voice came out gentle, showing you were asking out of curiosity rather than hostility. “So what led you to join up with the Strawhats and Fire Fist?”
She was silent for a while, trying to regain her composure. You thought that she hadn’t heard you, or was too ashamed for her reasoning, and you left the question hanging in the air.
“Because they wanted to help me.”
It was such a powerful answer in such a few words. Her voice was so small, and you knew the princess trusted these pirates with her life. And the Strawhats trusted the princess too. You could feel the winds shift, seeing the Strawhats and their captain in a new light.
“Yeahhhhh!” Luffy raised his arms and shouted into the sky. “We’re gonna beat your ass, Crocodile!!!!”
“Crocodile? What does he have anything to do with Alabasta?” Confusion set in once again. You felt like every time this group answered a question, you had another three questions rise.  Crocodile was one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, sanctioned by the World Government. Technically, you were supposed to assist, even protect, the warlords when it came down to it, but you never cared much for that system. It didn’t make much sense for the government to sanction some of the worst criminals on the sea just for the appearance of authority. A pirate is still a pirate, as Smoker always said.
You heard Fire Fist laugh dryly and mutter something indistinctly behind you. You couldn’t make out what he said, but you could tell from his tone that he’s criticizing you in some way.
Even Vivi looked disappointed that you had asked such a question. “He’s the one who’s behind all of this. The drought, the rebellion, Baroque Works. Everything that’s happening in Alabasta can be linked back to him.”
Her answer has once again brought more questions to your mind. But there’s one that comes to the forefront and quite literally stops you in your tracks. Vivi stopped too, looking back at you curiously.
Your voice came out pained when you spoke. “Why haven’t we helped you?”
Your question made her eyes well up with tears again, and she was about to answer when Fire Fist interjected. “Because the Navy doesn’t care about Alabasta.” He walked past you, unfazed by the whole thing. “Think about it. The Navy sanctioned Crocodile. If they stop him now, they’ll have to admit they were wrong making him a Warlord in the first place. You’d rather save face and let a country burn than admit you were wrong.”
You flinched when the hate in his voice switched from being directed at the Navy to you. You realized the words he spoke stung so badly because he’s right. Maybe not about you personally, but he had accurately described all the things that were famously flawed about the Navy as an overall system.
“Hang on, Ace,” Luffy scowled in confusion at the fire user. It was clear the captain’s brain was working overtime trying to process this entire conversation. “Don’t blame Y/N for this, she didn’t make any of those decisions.”
Fire Fist sighed and chucked at the naive young captain. “I suppose you’re right, Luffy. Still,” his eyes flicked back to you, his tone becoming serious again. “If you’re going to stand for something, you better know what you’re standing for.”
--
You sat alone, watching the Strawhats fight over Chopper’s warmth from a distance. The night air was chilled, and millions of stars shone in the sky. Vivi said you all had made good time, but you still had a long way to go. You weren’t sure how Vivi knew exactly where you were, but you trusted her and her navigation skills within the desert.
The cool air and sand brushed over your skin, sending a shiver up your body. You sat curled up into a ball, trying to retain any warmth you could. You weren’t sure how you were going to be able to sleep, or if it was wise to even attempt to do so, surrounded by a group of notorious pirates.
Fire Fist sat down next to you, breaking you away from your thoughts. He was still shirtless, his warmth radiating out from him. Whitebeard’s symbol displayed prominently on his back had shocked you at first, but you had grown used to the sight since this morning. “Must be nice to be warm like that all the time,” you muttered, jealous of his ability.
He laughed at your comment, watching the Strawhats engage in their shenanigans. “You know, I forget what it’s like to be cold. Or hot. Even in the Alabasta desert during the day, the heat isn’t intolerable. It’s just warm and bright.”
“Like you,” you teased, and he looked at you inquisitively. He grinned as he watched your face fall at the realization of what you had just said. You had meant it as a joke to his devil fruit power, and your face turned red when you realized how it could be interpreted.
“Well, if a lady of the Marines says so, then it must be true!”
“That’s not what I-”
“Too late to take it back now,” he retorted, puffing out his chest. “A Marine called me ‘warm and bright’! Pops is gonna love that.”
Your eyes widened. “You have no proof I said that!”
“Just my word.”
“A pirate’s word is-” You stopped mid-sentence when you caught his eye, his face beginning to fall with anticipation of how you would finish that sentence.
“A pirate’s word is what?” He goaded, suddenly defensive. His freckled smile was gone, replaced by a pained grimace. “Trash? Scum? Dishonorable?” He put more spite into every new word.
“Not as good as mine.” You corrected, and you saw his face flicker with surprise. It wasn’t the sentence you grew up saying, but you liked this new answer better.
Your response caused Ace to laugh. A good, hearty laugh, paired with a few slaps on his knee. You couldn’t help but smile while watching him. It reminded you of Luffy’s, contagious and full of complete genuine emotion. The others looked over, briefly pausing their fight over the reindeer before starting back up again.
Ace wiped tears away from his eyes once he calmed down.  “Your word is that good, huh? Better than any pirate?”
“Yep.”
Ace hummed in response. You could tell he was weighing a decision, but you didn’t press it any further. The two of you sat in silence for a long while, and you realized you were enjoying both his company and his warmth. You both watched the Strawhats all curl up and slowly fall asleep one by one.
“Since your word is so good, can I have it on something?” Ace’s voice was low and serious, and you knew he had finally made a decision on whatever he was thinking about earlier.
“That depends on what you’re asking me to do, Ace.” It’s the first time you had called him by his name rather than his title. You liked him more as Ace anyway.
Ace chuckled lightly, recognizing that your response was a valid one. “You see, Luffy’s my brother.” You stifled back a shocked gasp, trying not to react, but you could see a smile dance over his lips at your response. “I want you to protect him. Make sure he doesn’t die.”
You stared at him, unsure how to respond. Ace had just given you a treasure trove of information and had simultaneously asked you to do the very thing you vowed against.
“I know that’s a very non-marine thing to do,” he said, reading your mind. “But Luffy’s special. He’s going to be King of the Pirates.”
“I think that proves even more that I shouldn’t protect him.”
“Oh, right!” He smacked his forehead. “Ignore what I said then. Everyone wants to be King of the Pirates. Luffy isn’t special.”
You laughed at his back pedaling, and then sighed. “I’m sorry, Ace.” And you really were. You wanted to promise him and help make him feel more at ease. But it would be going against your direct principles. Against everything you knew and fought for. “I can’t give you my word on that. I’m a Marine, and I’m not abandoning my post to become Luffy’s lacky.”
“No, no, I’m not asking you to!” Ace quickly corrected. “You can still be a Marine! You seem like you might actually be one of the few good ones left.” The compliment made you blush, his words in such stark contrast to what he was saying earlier.
“Just, whenever your paths cross,” he continued. “Make sure he doesn’t do something so stupid that it gets him killed, if you can manage it. Please?”
There was a saying amongst the Navy women about the man sitting next to you. “Better watch out, Fire Fist Ace can melt hearts in more ways than one!” It was a joke, a silly warning they used whenever people went out on missions involving pirates, but now you were beginning to see the truth in the sentiment.
“I’ll…” You hesitated. You wanted to say yes, but for the sake of duty, the sake of justice, you couldn’t bring yourself to agree. “Can I think about it?”
Ace smiled at you and nodded once, satisfied with your response. He looked like he’s about to add something, but he changed his mind. “You should turn in for the night.” His eyes scanned the horizon. “I’ll keep watch for a while.”
You laughed at the thought of him keeping watch alone. “Ace, how am I supposed to trust you with my life when you fall asleep at completely random times?”
Those dark eyes flicked back to yours once again, and he tilted his hat back so you could see his face better. “Is that the only reason you don’t trust me, Miss Marine?”
You rolled your eyes and laid down without answering him. In truth, you actually did trust him to keep watch. If he had wanted to kill you, he certainly would’ve done it by now. Plus, with a heat source this close, you might actually manage to fall asleep in these conditions.
It was some of the best sleep you’ve had in a while.

The Major Difference Between God’s Amazing 7-Color Real Rainbow And The LGBTQ+ Pride Flag 6-Color Rainbow Counterfeit Will Amaze You
Tumblr media
God’s rainbow, the one that He set in the sky as a sign to Noah, has 7 observable colors in it – red, orange. yellow, green, blue, violet, and indigo. The number 7 is strongly associated with God and His perfect completeness. Please note the following about the number 7:
There are 7 days of the week – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
There are 7 continents – Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Australia/Oceania, Europe, North America, and South America
The Name Jehovah appears 7 times in the King James Bible – Genesis 22:14, Exodus 6:3, Exodus 17:15, Judges 6:24, Psalms 83:18, Isaiah 2:2, Isaiah 26:4
There are 7 Churches in Revelation – Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea
There are 7 notes in the musical scale – C, D, E, F, G, A, B
There are 7 colors when light passes through a prism –  the three primary colors and four secondary ones affectionately known as ROYGBIV
There are 7 levels in the Periodic Table of the Elements – the 7 levels of periodicity
Further, there are the 7 Mysteries given to the apostle Paul, 7 baptisms of fire, 7 resurrections, and a whole host of other 7’s. Multiples of 7 also figure into the biblical narrative: the “seventy weeks” prophecy in Daniel 9:24 concerns 490 years (7 times 7 times 10). Jeremiah 29:10 predicted the Babylonian Captivity would last for seventy years (7 times 10). According to Leviticus 25:8, the Year of Jubilee was to begin after the passing of every forty-ninth year (7 times 7).
Are you starting to get the picture? The number 7 in the Bible as well as in nature shows the completeness and perfectness of our Heavenly Father. The number 6, on the other hand, does not fare so well. The number is first mentioned in connection with the flood of Noah, and last mentioned with the Mark of the Beast and the Battle of Armageddon. All judgments on sin. The Mark of the Beast includes three 6’s, a complete judgement on sin.
How many colors in the LGBT Pride Rainbow? You guessed it – 6.
Gilbert Baker, an artist and drag queen, first created the Rainbow Flag in 1978.
Baker’s rainbow flag actually originally had eight colors – hot pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, indigo/blue and violet — but it gradually lost its stripes until it became the six-color version most commonly used today. Each of the colors has its own significance, he says: hot pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sunlight, green for nature, turquoise for art, indigo for harmony and violet for spirit.

Now about that Pride thing…
As a Bible believer, I always found it odd that the LGBT would call their movement the Pride movement. The Bible says that all the ‘children of pride’ have a king set over them to rule them, and that king is the Devil who shows up as Leviathan in the book of Job:
“He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.” Job 41:34 (KJV)

Helpful Hints For New Hires: Or... The Bright List Exists For A Reason, Folks!
It has come to the attention of Site Command that there is some confusion among the new hires. The following are tips to help you avoid Keter Duty, Bright Duty, or worse... death.
The Foundation motto is not "Fuck War, Famine, Pestilence, and Death; we have 076-2, 106, 049, and 682!" It is "Secure, Contain, Protect." As in, to Secure continued employment and survival, Contain your stupidity and help Protect your fellow workers.
Anyone caught passing out "cups of orgasm" from 294 will be demoted to D-Class and used in 682 testing. It's on the Bright List for a reason.
Do not get between Clef, his cowboy hat, his ukulele collection, or his shotguns. Ask any surviving Chaos Insurgency agent who made this mistake.
If it's on the Bright List, don't. If it seems like it should be on the Bright List, don't.
Dr. Glass is not made of silica. That's the Sentient Prism you're thinking of.
It is ill advised to try to bribe Site Command for better assignments. That being said, the wheels of the Foundation turn on rivers of coffee. It's not a bribe if it's an essential resource.
Dr. Iceberg is starting to resent the number of people asking him to "make me a snow cone". He has no known cryomancy abilities. Try 343.
Dr. Rights and Dr. Bright are not to be left unsupervised during their shifts. Especially if together. No, Dr. Clef does not count.
No one is to lick the anomalies unless instructed to.
No one is to allow the anomalies to lick them.
There is no SCP Inquisition. There never was an SCP Inquisition. That's the Ethics Committee you're thinking of, and you do not want to deal with them.
Any "Site Spirit Day" ideas must be run by Site Command. Dr. Bright is not allowed to suggest "Spirit Day" ideas.
Whomever is roasting marshmallows on the Man on Fire, either share the s'mores or cut it out.
Playing "Patticake" with 049 is a death sentence. Stop telling D-Class that he likes it.
Trying to hug 076-2 is also a death sentence. What is wrong with you?
Hugging 999 is not only perfectly safe, it's encouraged. He loves hugs, and everybody loves the cute little goey blob of joy.
Also, hugging 073 is allowed, provided he's willing. And no one involved is wearing organic fabric.
Hugging 682 is right out. Seriously, D-9847, are you that eager to die?
No. More. 294. Plushie. Shenanigans! The last time someone moved either the Scorpion or Sub-Zero plushies the damn thing sulked for three days.
Site and Foundation Protocols exist for damn good reasons. Consider that before breaking them.
There is no need to stampede the Site Cafeteria on Pizza Day. There's more than enough to go around.
Despite his name and mechanical demeanor, Dr. Gears is in no way infected by the Clockwork Virus, nor a member of the Church of the Broken God. Nor is he an android. Or a Terminator. And Dr. Bright and Dr. Clef are to stop spreading these rumors.
"Talk like a Jedi Day" is not a thing. Nor will it ever be. And the next person who mentions "Talk Like a Pirate Day" will be used for MTF high caliber target practice.
Do not encourage Dr. Bright. It never ends well.
Do not encourage Dr. Clef in his prank war with Dr. Bright.
Do not let Dr. Clef within 200 meters of Dr. Bright without at least 2 MTF teams, a Site Commander, two straight jackets, a fire hose ready to go, and a very large net. Yes, you need all that. Best not to ask why.
When 076-2 or 682 breach, RUN. DO NOT ENGAGE THEM. Let MTF handle it.
Do not trust 035. Just... don't.
If you insist on bringing baked goods into the office, bring enough to share.
If it seems dangerous, it's extremely dangerous. If it seems safe, it's probably not. Item Classes are not power levels, just how hard it is to keep the item here. Remember and act accordingly.

Electrohedron
Tumblr media
Image © Asterion Press, by Elisa Ferrotto.
[Commissioned by @justicegundam82, from Nephandum: Creatures of Terror, a 3rd party D&D 3.5 bestiary written in Italian. It’s somewhat reassuring to see that the three way struggle between author, art director and artist is found in Italian publishing as well. The text says that the electrohedron just touches people to shock them, but the artist gave it big scary spikes. And it’s supposedly made out of electrum, but the metal in the picture is decidedly not golden in hue.]
Electrohedron CR 8 N Construct This floating object is an eight-sided prism made out of silvery metal. A sharp spike rises from each of its vertices, and it spins in place as it hovers. Runic symbols cover all of its sides, and visible bolts of electricity crackle across its surfaces.
An electrohedron is a small, mobile construct designed with sadism in mind. They generate painful electrical shocks, and their magnetic abilities render foes using metal weapons at a significant disadvantage. They are small enough to patrol narrow corridors and maneuverable enough to fly up and down staircases and pits. If not instructed otherwise, the primary tactic of an electrohedron is to set itself up above a group of enemies and rain electrical bolts down on them. The primary weakness of an electrohedron is water, which causes them to short out and damage themselves.
Creating an Electrohedron An electrohedron is built around an iron core, which spins rapidly as the creature moves to generate electricity. Its outer surface is constructed out of 100 pounds of silver, worth 500 gp. This silver can be recovered from a dead electrohedron, unless it is slain through exposure to water, in which case the silver corrodes and becomes worthless slag. CL 10th; Price 32,500 gp Requirements Craft Construct, fly, lesser geas, shocking grasp, telekinesis, creator must be at least caster level 10th; Skill Craft (metallurgy) DC 17; Cost 16,500 gp.
Electrohedron   CR 8 XP 4,800 N Small construct Init +5; Senses all-around vision, darkvision 60 ft., Perception +0 Defense AC 21, touch 16, flat-footed 15 (+1 size, +5 Dex, +5 natural) hp 76 (12d10+10) Fort +4, Ref +9, Will +4 DR 5/adamantine; Immune construct traits, electricity Defensive Abilities electric body, magnetism; Weakness vulnerable to water Offense Speed fly 30 ft. (perfect) Melee gore +13 (1d6 plus 1d6 electricity) Ranged 2 electric bolts +17 touch (4d6 electricity) Statistics Str 10, Dex 20, Con -, Int -, Wis 11, Cha 1 Base Atk +12; CMB +16; CMD 26 Feats Agile Maneuvers (B) Skills Fly +15 Ecology Environment any land or underground Organization solitary, pair or flight (3-6) Treasure special (see above) Special Abilities Electric Body (Ex) Any creature touching an electrohedron with a natural weapon, touch attack or metallic weapon takes 1d6 electricty damage. Weapons with a wooden haft, such as a longspear or battleaxe, do not endanger a wielder in such a way. An electrohedron deals 1d6 points of damage with its natural weapons. Electric Bolt (Su) As a standard action, an electrohedron can fire two bolts of electricity. Treat these as ranged touch attacks with a range of 30 feet and no range increment. A creature struck by one of these bolts takes 4d6 points of electricity damage. Magnetism (Su) An electrohedron can alter its magnetism as an immediate action. It has three settings; attract, repel or neutral. If it is set to repel metal, it gains a +4 deflection bonus to Armor Class against metal weapons and metallic creatures, as well as to its CMD against enemies wearing metal armor and metallic creatures. When set to attract metal, it automatically attracts unattended metallic items weighing 50 pounds or less to its body, and makes a disarm attempt against all opponents within 5 feet that are carrying metal items. If it succeeds, the weapon or shield is stuck to the electrohedron’s body, and can only be removed with a DC 15 Strength check made as a standard action. Attempting to remove such an item may expose a creature to the electrohedron’s electric body. If the electrohedron sets itself to repel or neutral when it has metallic items stuck to it, the items fall to the ground. Vulnerable to Water (Ex) If an electrohedron is splashed with water, it takes 1d6 points of damage (no save). If immersed in water, it takes 10d6 points of damage per round. When an electrohedron takes damage in this fashion, it deals 1d6 points of electricity damage to all creatures adjacent to it (Reflex DC 16 negates). The save DC is Constitution based.

I want recs so 32 for the fan fic ask game >:D
you're getting several because I have several friends and mutuals and i can't just list like three people (also some of these people are rightfully very popular, so i'd be surprised if you hadn't read any of their stuff)
32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.
@doctortrekkiefe / doctortrekkie Doc has written some of my favorite mcyt fics in this and I recommend her Echoes series so much.
@theminecraftbee / Bee_4 mildly obsessed with everything second writes, of course. Stuffed bird is still one of my top hermitcraft fics.
@redwinterroses / RedWinterRoses (and darkleweather) Everything Turns to Gold is one of my favorite mcyt fics. Also, Red is a very cool person :] I don't know darkle as well but they're definitely very good writer too.
@prismartist / prismartist eli my beloved. oh, do i have to say something else? fantastic writer and so underrated so please check them out pretty please (threat) Recommending the To Break Bread series for your double life soulmate feels and the love language of food, speak now, or forever hold your peace for your moon big feels, and now i'm sure that it's true for any desert duoers who wanna get broken. prism is also very good at "unconventional" fic with stuff like poetry, script-fics, etc.
@chrysalizzm / chrysalizzm chrys's prose is so beautiful that whenever i read it im like how i am qualified to talk to you sfljsdlfjslf. seriously beautiful, beautiful work. Chrys mostly writes DSMP but has fantastic expanded universes and worldbuilding that isn't strictly limited to just those characters so you'll find a few hermits scattered about, even if it's focused primairly on dsmp.
@lunarblazes / lunarblazes very good writer :] i like late at night when the stars don't look quite right
@ivi-prism / Iviprism BELOVED. BELOVED. also off-world vacations is a beautiful thing to behold. look at it!
