WELL. i'm in contact with the person who took those pictures. the VHS belongs to a friend of theirs who was actually in the production. it's been many years and the friend has moved across the country since those photos were taken, so he isn't sure where the tape is now. but i was told that if it's found, they'll let me know. it's the kind of situation where we just have to wait and see. the lines of communication are still open, but i don't want to bug them for updates. we've just gotta be patient.
to be completely honest, i'm not even sure i want it to be found at this point. i've already received a lot of shit for other things i've uncovered and it makes me hesitant to want to open myself up to more of that.

"modern with magic/monsters" cub-centric au where cub's a half fae anthropologist who moves to a small coastal town for a year to study the overlapping and constantly shifting culture of its residents while working the afternoon shift at the local antique & thriftshop. he is swiftly roped into shenanigans after having to deal with the two weirdos who are apparently providing the majority of their stock.
aka grian the totally normal human hobbyist fisherman who just so happens to keep stumbling across partially damaged and damp but legitimate rare magical artifacts and tombs he has for some reason decided he has absolutely no use for
and scar a fellow fae who lives in the woods and is definitely bringing in legitimate historic enchanted garments and bobbles that he absolutely did not magically produce or forge in his own home
mumbo the store's owner, night shift, and resident vampire, seems to see absolutely no issues with any of the comical levels of suspiciousness happening because everyone is getting paid at the end of the day

I do think the introduction of a trans-ethnic, phonetic writing system that could be used to transcribe (if, inevitably, inadequately) multiple unrelated languages of Asia is really cool and I do have to wonder about the linguistic and social consequences if this had stuck around after the Yuan dynasty

I love these famous men from the 20th century whose daughters are on social media now because these icons of the previous decades are just so publicly dad now
Like with Scorsese being in on the Goncharov joke. But I also just saw Tony Hawk comment on Kurtis Conner’s video about his animated movie talking about how his daughter said it was the “height of cool” to be on his channel.
Sure you may have had a significant historical impact but I know what you are. You’re a dad.

elle’s diary - Page 143 - 06/04/24 @ 8:30pm
heya, hope you’re well :) Had a busy day today. Started it off having breakfast outside. I woke up late so it was nice and mild. After that I uploaded the slowed + reverb version of ‘Lost & Found (333)’ to Soundcloud! Link above :)
I’ve been loving to upload these every Saturday, having another place for them outside YouTube is so nice. Plus, I enabled direct downloads on the track so you can chuck it on your computers and MP3 players etc. I also decided to change my profile pic for the alternate version of ‘elsewhere’ which will be coming soon in a bit 👀
I spent the afternoon and evening scheduling some vids to go up on my YouTube channel, and editing my music video for ‘mirrorme.’ (One of my fave tracks ever). It had a really long intro that was awesome at the time of making it, but now I think didn’t add much to the video. Anyways, that’s gonna be all for now. Thanks for reading and take care of yourself <3
lots of love,
elle xoxo

A24 is one of the best and most popular production companies, with films like Midsommar, Moonlight and Lady Bird. And tv shows like Euphoria. Also, this a movie with Zac Efron. This is such a huge opportunity for MJF, especially considering he has stated he wants to go to Hollywood at some point.

Edit: for context, I woke up to the stupidest fucking anon that I deleted but felt spiteful enough to respond to anyway (it was along the lines of, “if Disney didn’t make it why does Disney sell the merchandise… there’s no fucking commercial Pixar Stores…)
but are some of y’all fucking stupid or something? Do you all know what company subsidiaries are????
you can Say “Disney’s Pixar” or “Disney and Pixar” BUT DISNEY IS NOT THE SAME FUCKING COMPANY AS PIXAR
Produced IN PARTNERSHIP with Disney, and OWNED BY DISNEY AS A SUBSIDIARY COMPANY.
Pixar didn’t dissolve and become Disney. It just exists under the Disney Umbrella
This is like Platinum Games under Square Enix, Blizzard under Activision, XBox under Microsoft, etc.

I have a Munsters Vs Addams family poll in my drafts but I just know the Addams family would win because I have met 10 ppl (all online) in my life who know who and what the munsters are. mind you the theme song is so iconic and recognisable yet the Addams family is apparently more well known 💔💔💔

"fanfiction doesn't count as literature" elaborate
i am not sure what even to elaborate on this bc it seems pretty self-evident to me. fanfiction is not literature—fanfiction is fanfiction. literature and fanfiction are both pieces of writing, yes, but authorial and narrative intent, form, style, and conventions are completely different (and that's just on a textual level... i mean if you look at it on a meta-level and considering things like accessibility and publication conventions there are even more differences). they scratch different itches and serve different needs. like, you wouldn't call a letter i write to a friend "literature" either, even though it's a piece of narrative writing.
you can find examples of good and bad—and, let's be real, most often mediocre—writing in both literature and fanfiction. neither one is inherently better or worse than the other. i also think it would do a great disservice to fanfiction to count it it as a traditional genre, since it has its own history that is mostly separate from traditional literature (and traditional literary genres). fanfiction also encompasses so many subgenres that it wouldn't make sense to just throw it all into one genre of literature.
but also, like, you don't need the approval of a stranger on the internet to call fanfiction literature. if that's what you wanna do then go for it. we can have different opinions on the topic and it be okay. you do you—it's literally not that deep.

“While the [pornography] films were often financed indirectly (or directly) by organized crime, a good number of the working technicians, writers, and actors were the disaffected brothers and sisters and cousins and aunts and uncles of the Jewish New Left. Without intending to be, these movies represented a tremendous sexual eduction for their working-class audience- in the case of New York City, mostly Hispanic, black and Catholic white… Generally, I suspect, pornography improved our vision of sex all over the country, making it friendlier, more relaxed, and more playful- qualities of sex that, till then, had been often reserved to a distressingly limited section of the better-read and more imaginative members of the mercantile middle class.”
