Week 1 — Project 52 [52 Weeks, 52 Pictures!] This week was spent happily (but somewhat frantically) preparing for the Renn Fest! I have been watching a lot of period costuming YouTubers (specifically Micarah Tewers) and got it in my head that I could absolutely crank out a milkmaid-esque costume by the weekend. You can see from the picture that I DID accomplish what I set out to do...mostly. Tuesday I stopped at Michaels on the way home for supplies and was simultaneously overwhelmed by how MANY things were available to me and how few of them were what I needed. Fabric selection? Trash. Zip ties in huge sizes? Deeply lacking. I did a lot of muttering and shaking my head. Wednesday was date night, and Alex and I had dinner with Rachel, then went out for fancy dessert and laid on a picnic blanket in the rose garden until the cloying scent of youths smoking pot drove us back to our home. (Actually it was the mosquitos that got us in the end...whyyyy are they still around it is not their TIME). Thursday on my drive to therapy I managed to do all my PEO phone business while sitting in traffic (this is the kind of multitasking that makes me feel powerful!) At home I sewed until 9 and then sat outside to enjoy the last hot night (?) of the summer. Friday evening was hard—we found out that my cousin Ben had passed away earlier in the week. I didn't know Ben well, but I know the cloth he was cut from (the relatives closer to me who in-turn knew him). It's a sad moment for a small family. Saturday was one of those days when you're like "there's only one or two things on the calendar so I have lots of time in between events..." and then somehow you have 15 minutes to call your own. PEO in the morning, then home to sew for [15 minutes]. Alex and I went on a shopping spree, and then to dinner with his family to celebrate his graduation! In the evening I somehow wrapped the dress up in time to go to bed on time...what's that about? Sunday was the Fest! We had a good group, and enjoyed popping in and out of stores in the morning and eating (eating, eating!) In the afternoon we saw a bunch of delightful shows, and in the middle of the night I woke up with the worst headache ever and realized I'd never drunk any water all day. Durrrr. Monday night I went out to buy a Tiffany (!!!!) lamp that I have been coveting long enough to allow the purchase to take place. Feeling very fancy

Toujours en retard pour mon projet 52, voici le thème Arbre, je suis passée devant plusieurs fois avant de revenir avec mon appareil photo, en espérant que les feuilles ne soient pas toutes tombées. "It Is Finished”

With today’s post, my 52-week project is finished. I accomplished what I set out to do one year ago today–with some adjustments, of course–to post a photograph representing something “authentically me” each week for a year. It is a new day, a new year, and it is time for another goal. Today I am returning to my previous 1-per-day Project365 Tumblr blog under the name milmon365

Some of you may remember my previous Project365 that was so violently disrupted by the smashing of my car window and the theft of my camera (I know, I know, I shoulnd’t have left it on the seat!). In closing, I want to thank all of you who have followed me on @milmon52 . Thank you for liking and reblogging my images, and for commenting and encouraging me this past year on my photographic journey. As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, some pretty heavy doors have closed in my life, allowing the whole world to open. Brilliantly. I am so very happy, so at peace, so energized, and so humbled. I wish the same for all of you.
