Do you have any headcanons for Jim Sterling, pre- and post-Negaduck?
Pre-Negaduck:
• Jim Sterling became severely depressed after his Darkwing Duck show was canceled.
• Jim and Megavolt’s actor were actually close friends when the show was still being made.
• during the filming of the episode that Launchpad shows Dewey where DW slams his foot into QuackerJack’s back, Quackerjack (the actor for him) had to be rushed to the hospital when he didn’t get back up.
• QuackerJack’s actor never fully recovered and still has back issues to this day.
• QuackerJack’s actor’s injury was covered up as a on set accident. Jim didn’t want his reputation to be ruined.
• as time went Jim became obsessed with getting every shot perfect, and would keep everyone on set well past midnight.
• when Jim’s obsession continued to grow, the majority of the cast for the other characters quit and after QuackerJack’s actor got injured most of the show’s writers quit as well.
• ratings and views for the show plummeted majorly after that.
• the injury from QuackerJack’s actor was covered up so greatly that even some of the official cast members who weren’t there that day doubted Jim did anything.
• Jim landed a few roles after his shows cancellation but nothing major.
• Jim dated Morgana’s actress for a while but the majority of their conversations were arguments so they decided to break up.
Post-Negaduck:
• Jim made sure to stay out of sight when he found out he was declared dead.
• When Drake Mallard became the real life version of Darkwing Duck, Jim kept an extremely close eye on him.
• During the “The Let’s Get Dangerous” episode, when the Fearsome Four appeared Jim followed Drake Mallard throughout the entire event.
• Jim stole the plans for the Ramrod in hopes to bring back the Fearsome Four and use them for his own revenge against Darkwing Duck.
• Jim incorrectly built the Ramrod and instead of bringing things from other dimensions into his own, he was sent through to another dimension himself.
• Jim Sterling landed in what he called, “The Negaverse”.

I love the idea of modern-day fearsome four shenanigans.
Quackerjack cancelling E3 or burning down Twitch Headquarters, or even raiding the abandoned Toys R Us’s as hideouts
Megavolt going insane over LED lights and smart-objects (fridges, juicers, etc), him having like an army of alexas and siris by his side
Bushroot going absolutely insane over deforestation and climate change once again but on a scale never-before seen. Like he can hear plants. Just . Just imagine how loud it is for him now.
Liquidator. I dunno man somethin about the polar ice caps or pollution would be kinda funny. just. flood the streets with trash and trapping dwd in some plastic. edit: he floods in-universe florida. why? i just think it’s funny
And then Darkwing Duck gets cancelled on twitter for stopping the f4 and the f4 having twitter stans. Like just accounts with variations of “Bushr00t_Apologist” “Toy_Czar_Stan” etc etc.
anyways if none of this gets explored in the reboot i’m gonna go feral <\3

I had a lot of fun with the Darkwing Verse drawings so I kept going. I decide to have fun and do some possible redesigns for Quackerjack (not that he needs it).
So design #1 is obviously much closer to the original. I didn’t mean to give him dead eyes but that’s kind of what happen
Design #2 is much more out there. I used the many versions of Flash’s villain The Trickster. I thought it be fun since Reverse Flash inspired Negaduck’s costume.
Let me know which one you guys like best!

Okay so I actually do have a hot take that I think differs from many people who are Darkwing Duck and Ducktales fans...
I kind of hope that the Darkwing Duck reboot isn't a continuation of the Ducktales 17 version. I get that more people want a continuation on threads like the whole Jim Starling/Negaduck plots. But there are some parts of the Ducktales 17 version I wouldn't want to carry over.
For example I wasn't the biggest fan of their Steelbeak and I don't know if I like the fact that the Fearsome Four were from another universe or from the show. I would much rather they naturally be a part of the world and to see their origin stories like the original.
Tbh I would much rather get a fresh take and given the fact that I don't know if many of the writers from Ducktales 17 is going over to the new show, I think that is likely what is going to happen. I wouldn't mind some references to the Ducktales 17 version though.

Thoughts, Headcanons and Comments on Negaduck (My AU).
This here is more of a commentary blog and maybe a rant, it can also be considered as a headcanon blog and also for Negaduck fans (which I feel like the majority will curse me A LOT for not agreeing with either group, OG and DT 2017). For those who want to, they can read it as they wish, but I'm already advancing that it's LONG and will have some low-level words (I'll censor it, but it's still worth it). Feel free to leave comments about your opinions... And preferably, the comments should be healthy...
Tumblr media
So... I woke up these days and thought to myself... "Do you know what would be good today? Talking about a character idolized by the majority of Fandom as the best villain in Darkwing Duck and a hidden passion for many people and suffering hate from everyone ? YAY!!! =D" (yes, I have self-love... Don't worry, this is just a joke).
Me after this blog:
Tumblr media
Ok, clarifying something for everyone here... I like Negaduck himself, I really like his concept and even his personality. Characters that are basically chaotic, crazy and the reincarnation of evil itself, I love that concept. My problem with Negaduck is kind of his Fandom... People put him on a pedestal and say he's the ultimate villain and the rest is just the rest... I'm talking about a kind of toxic part of the community, like those who make meaningless or simply problematic ships (sorry for those who ship, but Darkwing Duck and Negaduck would NEVER happen in this ship, they are literally mortal enemies and in OG it's worse because Negaduck is an alternative version of Drake). My problem is not the character, the problem is his toxic fans and the fact that he is always considered one of the best villains and blah blah blah. Guys, I see Negaduck as a good antagonistic figure to DWD. The vision of what Drake could become if something went wrong. A criminal genius who has no scruples about getting what he wants and who will do the worst things in the world to get what he wants, including threatening his own companions, the Fearsome Four, with death. A psychopathic maniac who is so toxic that he is basically disgusting and chaotic. Think of classic Disney villains who were the antithesis of evil, like Jafar and the Evil Queen. They're almost pure evil, but they're still charismatic. Basically a villain we love to hate.
Having already spoken my vision, let's move on to the Headcanons and also criticisms of both Negaducks (the OG 1991 and the DT 2017). Just remembering that I like both versions, but I have my criticisms of them... It's never an attack on the fans, it's just constructive criticism and my view of the character. And let's start with what people apparently idolize the most... Negaduck/Jim Starling from DT 2017. Starting with the most controversial one here that will cause me more attacks from the fans, but ok! =D
Tumblr media
The story they made for Negaduck is, to say the least, curious... He was the original actor in the Darkwing Duck series in the Ducktales Reboot universe, whose career took a break after the series ended and he wanted to return in the new film. His name is Jim Starling (pause to praise the idea of the name and her reference, the team is to be congratulated on this honor), he is apparently a duck in his 40s and, apparently, serves to draw a parallel with the DW of original series. The original protagonist of the series that many people followed and to be the antithesis of Drake Mallard, who is the new modern Darkwing Duck of this generation. There are things that I genuinely like about this new Negaduck, like the fact that he is his own character and not an alternative version or copy of Darkwing, the metalanguage with the original Darkwing Duck being a series in Ducktales and things like that... My problem is what they did, the execution... I don't know, I don't like how they wrote Jim, he often makes parallels with the OG protagonist Darkwing Duck and seems to demonize him, while exalting the current Drake Mallard who is nicer, the which I honestly don't like. Besides... WHAT THE F*CK DO HAPPENED WITH JIM AT THE END?!?! A CRAP SCENARIO FELL ON HIS HEAD AND HE BECAME GOO, THEN HE BECAME NEGADUCK?!?! What did they give the screenwriters?! Give me, I want 2 of these...
Okay, calm down... Back to focus... I don't like how this ending happened, it kind of takes away the idea that he's a human and makes him turn into a mutant, which I don't approve of since the fun part is that Darkwing Duck and Negaduck are human, but they're impressive they survive something that would kill them (like old cartoons) and don't get a scratch. The justification they gave to Drake is good, that he always stands up because he has impressive willpower and that he is stubborn. But Negaduck... No! I would change that yes, Jim would survive even though that thing fell on his head and crushed him, but it would have just been a "scene" that he did, but he would appear injured and, if he appeared again, it would show him with scars from that incident . It would be much better... Now, his motivation... It's kind of whatever... I don't hate it, but the way it was done I didn't think it was cool, even though the justification was valid. I've seen some people making fun of him that he just "wanted attention", which is kind of true... But considering that ND is evil incarnate, you can accept it. Oh, and one last aspect that I liked and that was in the classic series... When Negaduck is completely unstable and basically insane, his eyes become spirals. That's awesome, I'm not going to lie. :³
Alright, now let's move on to the 1991 version of Negaduck from Darkwing Duck. Here they will probably give me a lot of hate attacks too...
Tumblr media
Negaduck OG is the counterpart of Darkwing Duck from the Negaverse, an evil version of Drake Mallard who went to the Primeverse for who knows why and is wreaking terror in St. Canarian... He is the leader of the Fearsome Five, a criminal genius and also one of the most dangerous villains. That's in the sense of... He has a BUNCH OF GUNS THAT HE TAKES OUT WHO KNOWS WHERE AND EXPLOSIVES THAT COULD DESTROY THE ENTIRE CITY!!!! Besides, he is a genius criminal strategist and basically almost destroyed the city and even the multiverse in one of his madnesses. For that reason alone, I really like the concept, a person who basically represents chaos in person (Paddywhack doesn't count here, because he's literally a chaos demon) and who is one of Darkwing Duck's smartest villains who almost defeated him. My main problem with him is... He's basically a version of DWD from another universe and he's evil. I don't know about you, but this sounds so generic... There's this with Superman, Batman, Spider-Man multiverse story and "What if"... It's not that I don't like opposite versions of heroes, I do... But when it's a separate character from him. Reverse Flash, for example, is a completely different person from the Flash, Dr. Zoom. Making Negaduck just an evil alternative version of Darkwing is a bit boring because it's a bit limited... Besides, they didn't properly explore the Negaverse itself... ND is a good character, yes, but it's just this lock that makes me think: "Really? One more? Okay...-_-". I like what DT 2017 did, separating Negaduck from Darkwing Duck, in the sense of giving him an identity and not making him an "evil Darkwing Duck from another reality", making Negaduck his own person. Negaduck's parallel with Darkwing Duck becomes more interesting and palpable, whereas in the OG it's kind of a tired trope. There are certain versions that I applaud standing up, like the Hulk and Batman with one of them, but otherwise it's written in a generic way until...
Tumblr media
But then... After complaining so much, I just want to say something... This in no way makes one version better than the other, each version is different and they all have their mistakes and successes. I've seen people comparing both versions and saying that the old Negaduck was better than the 2017 one, but I think it's slightly stupid. Each version is for a different audience, if you liked it, fine, if not, that's fine too. I've seen @o-dandelion-o compare both versions and say that the 2017 ND is a crybaby (I would personally give that to the 2017 Drake, but ok...) and that the 1991 ND is superior... It was probably a joke , but it's worth highlighting... Guys, it doesn't make any difference to me! I'm a writer and I can play the character any way I want! I don't agree with the vision of certain artists, and that's okay! I respect their vision! Only that! I want to make it extremely clear that my version of Negaduck mixes these two, the original and the 2017 version. I took the concept of him being his own character, Jim Starling, but I kept the chaotic and evil incarnate essence of the original. It's an alternative universe created by me and my friend, that's all...
Anyway... I think that's it, thanks to whoever read this... Until next time...

The total collection of my rebooted Fearsome Four!
Catch them in action yourself, only in "The Masked Mallard," the third installment of 7 AM EST: A Darkwing Duck AU.
The Masked Mallard
Summary:
It's spring break and St. Canard is booming! Crime is dropping, the economy is rising, investors from all over are flocking to the city to put in their two cents, and after Steelbeak and Morgana got their butts kicked, the Knights have all but vanished. As for the Mallards, life has never been better. Posiduck Productions is thriving, Gosalyn is crushing college, Launchpad is one step closer to finally getting his driver’s license, oh - and Drake’s dead brother is back. Things are great, things are growing, things are looking up. Which is exactly when the first supervillain attacks. ------------- Or: The Fearsome Four - like, from the Darkwing Duck TV show - start attacking St. Canard, Duckburg kajillionaires decide to get underfoot, old enemies refuse to stay dead, and the Mallard gang has to figure out how to stop the latest bad guy and save the city - from itself.

Fearsome Five - Darkwing Duck
I'm posting my drawing again, of Darkwing Duck and their main villains, called the Fearsome Five. Admittedly, those are also my favorite characters from Darkwing Duck. I drew this last year for the 30th anniversary of Darkwing Duck. The rest is copied text from my last year's post.
"And now, let’s get dangerous!
I mean, let’s get Fearsome Five!
Finally, this is over. I started this drawing a month and a half ago, but due to numerous obligations, I didn’t manage to paint it, but this time it was done. This was drawn as a redraw drawing of Fearsome Five by the ingenious Tad Stones (creator of Darkwing Duck both as a character and as a TV series), and his drawing can be viewed here: https://twitter.com/tadstones/status/920684543434043393
Although 30 years have passed since Darkwing Duck as well as the jubilee itself, I wanted to draw something related to one of my favorite cartoon series. I’ve drawn Darkwing Duck several times already, this time I wanted to draw related to the jubilee precisely for the reasons I watched that series, and it’s about the villains, more precisely the infamous team, called Fearsome Five or Terrible Five. That team of villains is led by none other than Negaduck, Darkwing’s biggest opponent, who comes from Negaverse as Nega-Drake Mallard or rather Negaduck.
Although Negaduck is my favorite villain in Darkwing Duck, there are still a lot of villains who have become dear to me and even more funny. Although these villains were created as a parody of the villains from Batman, DC and Marvel, these villains have become dear to me. Yes, it’s Fearsome Four, a group of villains fighting Darkwing Duck, but without Negaduck. Like this, with Negaduck they make a terrible team or rather a funny team of villains that I love. Yes, here are Megavolt, Quackerjack, Bushroot and Liquidator, plus, there are Mr Banana Brain (Quackerjack’s toy) and Spike, a messenger plant (Bushroot’s pet) and a monster mushroom in Bushroot’s hands. It’s hard for me to single out who my favorite villain is in Darkwing Duck so I put all five of them on one drawing. I just can’t single them out.
Sorry there is no background, as well as the fact that I put this drawing as three photos, which are light and dark.
In the end, even though it’s over, I want to wish the Darkwing Duck a happy 30th anniversary once again! And I also hope to see all five of them in the Darkwing Duck reboot. Yes, I put all of them in the classic version, from the original series. Happy anniversary, Fearsome Five!"
I hope you like this drawing and love these villains.

What is the origin of Fearsome in your version of Reboot?
Okay so funny story,,, liquidator is the only reboot design where im genuinely stumped on what to do for his origin..
Bushroot - works at the Ludwig von drake end of the world bunker (from that one ducktales episode) and an accident happened where he might’ve had a ton of seeds on him as well as being soaked in the plant growth serum. This causes problems as he starts growing leaves and such, which eventually leads to Bushroot (I love treating all my designs with respect and non traumatizing scenes, as you can see /j)
Megavolt - he has nanites cybernetics (similar to gandra’s) and, due to some nanites glitching, gets a little shock sometimes. Those shocks have chipped away at Megs mind for a while now. While I haven’t got a set in stone change in megs from normal to super villain, I do know that the nanite shocks made him fucking insane :3
Quackerjack - still an insane toy maker.. He worked under the mcduck enterprises toy division. He’s working to get higher up in the company. When he moves down in the job hierarchy he becomes a little homicidal ,, but that’s the quackerjack charm baby 🙌
Again, none for liquidator rn.. quackerjack and liquidator are very hard to make origins for, I’ll need more time 😭
But uh,, yeah, they’re a silly little group.. (I’ll draw bigger stuff with them soon, especially with their pre-corruption designs :33)

What are your thoughts on the DuckTales reboot of the DWD characters?
I didn’t really like Launchpad’s characterization in the DT reboot, but he was alright when he was with Drake.
And I do like how the show made sure to make LP and Drake friends first and not have LP be a huge fan of DW. That was something I definitely liked over the original DW show.
I actually love how Drake Mallard was portrayed in the reboot. He still had a bit of an ego but it wasn’t super over the top like in the original show, and I think having Drake take on the persona of a tv show character was an interesting twist on the character that I liked. They kept his hatred for Gizmoduck but made him friends with Fenton, which was hilarious.
I also liked how Drake and Gosalyn didn’t necessarily get along at first. It was a slow process of trust between the two of them, but still kept the family bond between the both of them.
I thought Taurus Bulba was alright. I mean, he served his purpose as a character but I didn’t think he was as intimidating as the the original character. His voice definitely was not as great as the original.
How they changed the ramrod (the machine built by Professor Waddlemeyer) in “Let’s Get Dangerous” ended up being so much better than in the original show. In the original DW show, the ramrod was basically just a giant magnet. But when they changed the device to be a portal to other dimensions? That’s so much cooler!
The Fearsome Four were amazing! Especially Bushroot’s zombie-like redesign. I don’t really have any complaints with how they were handled. Although I did miss Liquidator’s slogans.
Now Negaduck/Jim Starling? The only complaint I have with him is that he was never brought back after his debut episode. I think he was supposed to be in “Let’s Get Dangerous” but they couldn’t find a place for him in the episode that would do him justice. Which I understand, but he never showed up again in the series and I don’t know if the new DW reboot (if that ever comes out) is supposed to follow the DT reboot versions of the characters or just a whole new thing.
I think that having Jim Cummings voice Jim Starling and have him turn into Negaduck was brilliant. Negaduck wasn’t an alternate dimension version of DW that popped out nowhere, he was a forgotten actor from a forgotten tv show that only saw himself as the character he played. He was so obsessed in preserving his identity in this made up character that he literally went insane and became the evil mirrored version of that character when someone else assumed the role. That is brilliant. But like I said unless they actually make a DW reboot and put that version of Negaduck then we’ll never see him again. Which is highly disappointing because (call me crazy) but I like this version of Negaduck over the original.
Oh right, Steelbeak. Um….I hate him in the reboot. I don’t like his voice in the DT reboot and they made his characterization: “*insulted voice*: “I’m not stupid!”. Which got annoying real quick and he was no where near as clever as he was in DWD. Which is a real shame because Steelbeak was such a good character and they did him such a disservice in the DT reboot.
I think that’s all they put in the reboot? If there’s anyone I missed let me know.

Hello!! Normally I don’t do this kind of thing but I was rewatching Let’s Get Dangerous to try and sleep and had some thoughts.
How much of Bushroot’s character in the special is a purposeful rework because they wanted to use the design inspired by the Twin Beaks episode in DWD ‘91 and how much of it is just plain misinterpretation of his character? Let me explain.
There’s two lines specifically that have me thinking about this. First is when the triplets stumble upon him, Dewey says “It’s Dr. Reginald Bushroot, a prominent scientist who was accidentally turned into a plant monster.” The second line is when DW, Launchpad, and Gos are about to face against the F4, Launchpad and DW both say “Well technically Bushroot isn’t a villain, per se.”
When in context of the original ‘91 show, these statements are both flat out false. Bushroot is originally ridiculed by his peers despite actually being brilliant and this leads him to being fired and continuing his experiments on his own. He very purposefully gives his experiment one last shot by testing it on himself to prove his hypothesis which turns him into the plant hybrid. In the reboot it’s framed as an unfortunate accident when in the original he wanted to do it and was elated when it worked. Everyone else just had a bad reaction when they saw the results.
As for the second line, I feel like because Bushroot is arguably one of the most sympathetic villains, people consistently want to look past his actions and motivations to identify him as maybe an anti-villain type. But based on his actions, he’s more than definitely a villain. Visual body count alone, he’s killed more than the other fearsome four members. He’s the first to bring up the suggestion of killing someone as a solution multiple times during fearsome four team ups. He also picks some of the most brutal ways of getting rid of who he’s fighting. In Easy Come, Easy Grows he was just going to let Gosalyn, Honker, and Launchpad get run through a mulcher and was pretty indifferent about it. He mentions that it’s final and messy, but otherwise is content to be rid of his issue. I know a lot of the time these situations are played for gags but if you look at it objectively it’s kind of fucked up LOL.
His reasoning a lot of the time is that he just kind of wants to be left alone to tend to his plants, and because most everyone ran away from him before he became a villain (and the one time he tried to go undercover he was trampled lol), stealing and otherwise committing crimes is just easier. I think this along with his more timid personality makes people forget he’s totally not afraid to kill someone if it leads him from point a to point b. All of his desires are selfish as well which is more of a villainous characteristic, especially with how it is used for his character.
I understand wanting to support Bushroot because most of the time he just wants to be left alone and his origin is a little sad, but I feel like disregarding the fact that he is a villain who has committed very bad acts for selfish reasons is a disservice to his character. There’s nothing wrong with liking or wanting to support a villainous character, I root (heh) for Bushroot a majority the time lmao. Anyway that’s pretty much all I wanted to say. Side note, I hope in the DWD reboot they don’t take DT17’s approach to Bushroot because I think ‘91 Reggie is a much more complex and interesting character.

Is anyone else bothered by how modern depictions- mostly fanart but now also with the Wednesday reboot- have her as voluptuous? (And absolutely no hate to CZJ, I still enjoy her Tish.)
Tumblr media
The thing about Morticia is her beauty is kind of off-putting and just gaunt, but she is beautiful. But more to the point I enjoyed how tall lanky girls got some rep. Her skinny frame was part of what gave her an otherworldly attractiveness. We already have an overabundance of conventionally sexy women in horror; Lily Munster and Elvira in particular of the Fearsome Four ladies of horror are already pinup types so it would just be nice to have one character who isn't.

My Top 10 Prequels
Tumblr media
For me personally, I'm more fond with prequels than sequels. Because when it comes to these backstories, they can comprise plots and provide tones that would play out very differently but must still present how these past occurrences precede to the main narratives of the original films, even if some aren't entirely linked or mentioned. But that's just one reason on why prequels are intriguing to watch.
Without further ado, let's dive into the list. However, if you haven't seen these films, there will be some spoilers.
10) Captain Marvel
Tumblr media
Even though most fans weren't satisfied with this, I still find it pretty enjoyable. Not only was this one of the last Marvel films that features the legendary Stan Lee, this is possibly considered as an actual direct prequel in the MCU. While Black Widow does focus more on Natasha's origins, that film is viewed as a midquel, set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. However, this one follows an interstellar soldier from the planet Hala, as she teams up with Nick Fury to uncover her past life on Earth and the secret behind the Kree-Skrull war.
9) Monsters University
Tumblr media
This may not be Disney's first attempt on a prequel, but even up to this date, this is considered to be the only prequel that Pixar had produced. As we dive into Mike and Sulley's freshman year at MU, we get to see how their rivalry grew into a fearsome friendship.
8) The Pirate Fairy
Tumblr media
It did felt kinda weird to actually hear Tinker Bell talking in words instead of chimes at first, but at least we get to explore Tink's homeland, Pixie Hollow. While the first Tinker Bell films are set around each of the four seasons, this one provides a keen connection to the 1953 Disney classic, as Tink and her friends venture off shore to retrieve the blue pixie dust stolen by a former dust-keeper fairy named Zarina, who happens to be a pirate captain.
7) Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
Tumblr media
The first Fantastic Beasts movie was a splendid launch for this prequel series by giving us a new set of honorable characters and providing fascinating settings filled with stunning graphics and visual effects. However, it did seemed kinda weak because it was mainly a magical creature hunt scenario. Not to mention, it hardly offered any links to the main Harry Potter stories. It wasn't until the second installment of this film series, where we actually get to see Newt's time at Hogwarts, recognize a few familiar faces, and a whole lot of immense surprises.
6) Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Tumblr media
In my opinion, Dawn was the most memorable and successful installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, and while War also gave a wholesome and potent conclusion to Caesar's story, there's no denying that Rise had the best premises on what led up to the evolution of these highly intelligent primates. Although it is considered as a reboot, the filmmakers manage to utilize many diegesis components and references from the original film series to present this movie as a prequel. Even I found Caesar's childhood moments very cute and heartfelt. Let's hope the fourth film will show the decimation of the Statue of Liberty.
5) Prey
Tumblr media
There isn't much I know about this horror franchise except for its monstrous antagonists. These invisible-tech hunters may seem threatening, but they only pursue by their own rules. Sure, there wasn't much that the filmmakers fully describe about these extra-terrestrials in the first Predator movie. But in Predator 2, it provided a lot of important details about their bizarre skull collection, terminal weapons, and surprisingly, the precise time they'd been invading Earth. An idea of producing a film about aliens striking a human civilization set in a primordial era would normally turn out bad (ex. Cowboys vs. Aliens). But switching to a different time period that features Native-American representation, a glamorous scenery, plenty of bewildering action scenes, and a small Easter egg from the main film series, this installment had truly succeeded in captivating the fans of this franchise. I also like how they used the opposite term of predator as a fitting title.
If you're a Predator fan, which would you prefer watching first?

4) Minions: The Rise of Gru

As much as I do enjoy the Despicable Me films, I did had mixed feelings with the Minions movie. Even though it was a box-office success in the franchise, it doesn't excuse its obscure storytelling, decent comedic relief and random time settings from being an awful animated flick. But when Illumination gave us a continuation to the spin-off prequel, I was so thankful that this one was able to stay true to its source materials that made the first installment into a spectacular hit of its time by captivating the audience with incredible animation, slapstick humor, and genuine fondness of the characters laid out in this promising tale of Gru's rise to villainy.

3) The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

The Lord of the Rings is considered as one of the best epic fantasy film series we'd come to expect. But that's not to say we weren't ready to let go of this precious franchise just yet. As director Peter Jackson gave us a ticket to a trip back into the fictional world of Middle-earth. Only this time, this trilogy follows back 60 years ago when Frodo's uncle, Bilbo Baggins, joined Gandalf and thirteen elves on a quest to the Lonely Mountain, that was once an elf kingdom called Erebor, to retrieve an ancient gem called the Arkenstone, heavily guarded by a ferocious dragon named Smaug. I will say that An Unexpected Journey did start off very good by providing unique cameos of characters and places we reckon with from the original trilogy, but when I went to see The Desolation of Smaug in theaters with my family, I was so amazed with what they demonstrated in this one. I remember laughing so much in that one scene where Bombur was rolling in that barrel while fighting those Orcs at the same time. By presenting beautiful landscapes and breathtaking action sequences, as well as ending things off at a severe cliffhanger, long before Avengers: Infinity War took that intensity away, this was indeed the best film in the Hobbit trilogy, and the critics can't disagree.
2) Final Destination 5

In death, there are no accidents, no coincidences, no mishaps, and no escapes. -Tony Todd
For as long as this horror franchise had been remembered and adored by many fans, we must always be careful of our surroundings because we may never know when our time will come. This follows a selected group of individuals who manage to avoid getting caught in a major incident/disaster because one of them had a premonition of that upcoming event. Despite of it, those survivors would soon become victims. As one by one, they all die in a series of accidents, only to find that death has set up a design, in which they are being killed in the precise order they were meant to die during the opening catastrophe for each film. The main problem this franchise ever had was giving us characters who are viewed as poorly-written douchebags just so they can produce creative killings rather than making characters that do manage to carry out a great horror flick.
Out of all the Final Destination films I watched, this one truly plays out on what the franchise is known for. Presenting a bunch of dying sequences for each character while also handling the tone of this feature in order to build up the suspense. Speaking of which, the characters in the fifth film acted out as very believable humans who feel very depressed or reluctant, but still manage to provide a bit of certainty towards each other, in spite of the situation they are in. And if that wasn't satisfying enough, it was during the ending where most FD fans like me think it was going to be another pointless bummer for these losers, but apparently things got very shocking.
When Sam and Molly were boarding an airliner to Paris, they noticed an unusual commotion by a couple of passengers being forced out of the plane, which just so happen to be Alex Browning and the other six survivors. As the plane took off, Sam was looking at his boarding pass, which reads not only the plane's flight number, but also the film's actual time setting. Thus, revealed that this sequel turned out to be a prequel.
While the Saw movies are known for providing plenty of plot twists, but I have to give props to this, because no other franchise, especially in the horror genre, could have possibly manage to pull this off. Even though, we know how this is gonna go down for our leads, this is considered the only time where we actually feel very sympathetic to them. Thanks to its great choice of casting, brilliant directing, and developing such staggering visual effects, this is indeed the best Final Destination movie I ever enjoyed.

1) Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith
Tumblr media
While both Rogue One and Solo were exceptional spin-off films in the Star Wars franchise, they could never been able to compete with the conclusion of the prequel trilogy to the Skywalker Saga.
Back then, the "I am your father" scene was the most surprising twist in the original Star Wars trilogy. But nowadays, it has become one of the most iconic movie references in cinema history. Although Obi-Wan Kenobi explain to Luke everything about how his father became Darth Vader, the fans would like to know more about Anakin's origins. Not to mention, there were still a lot of things in the story that were left unanswered or unexplored. After fifteen years of contemplating, Lucas began to produce three more films that would fully describe the latter events of the Jedi's downfall and the rise of Darth Vader.
During the releases of episodes 1 & 2 in theaters, many critics and fans were displeased with these installments because they contain decent action sequences, lacks of audacious spirit from the original trilogy and more significantly, inadequate portrayals of a few characters, especially the huge disliked character in the saga, Jar Jar Binks. Nevertheless, it was well worth it for the fans after waiting six years for the third/final episode to come out.
Thanks to Lucas's proper screenwriting, outstanding performances, heartbreaking moments, and a well-played dramatic tone, Revenge of the Sith successfully managed to delight the fans and bring such emotion into the hearts of those who grew up watching the original trilogy. Even I was grieving with sadness at the very end of this episode. Along with obtaining a great positive reception from critics, this is the only film in the prequel trilogy that is considered the best.
Whether you can agree with my list or not, which prequel do you think is the best? Let me know in the reply section.
