The people putting other writers fics into ChatGPT or some other form of AI in order to finish them is absolutely disgusting. It's what is killing writers want and motivation to write. It's killing the writers and artists of today's world. What is the point? Do you genuinely not have enough patience or understanding that art takes time to simply wait for a writer to upload the next part? Even more, AI is not nearly as talented as writers. You will not get a fulfilling end or one as creative or well written as you would form human hands. AI lacks the understanding of humanity, emotion, and speech patterns to properly mimic a human's work. So stop, it's what is killing artists and writers.

Hi, I accidentally serial liked a lot of things! Please don’t block me. It’s just that I’m very much enjoying all of your work and I’m a brand new reader so…
Tumblr media
hey :) thanks for dropping in and for letting me know that you like my work.
i understand you're a brand new reader, so let me drop in and give you more context about what it means to serial like, and why writers such as myself block people who do this. it's never personal, but when you check your notifications, finding out that there are dozens from the same person just liking -- no reblogs (which is how content is shared here on tumblr -- it feels like a bit of a backhanded compliment, if you will. as in, a person has gone through the effort of "liking" all my stuff, but a reblog or comment simply isn't worth the time.
i don't dwell on it further than just blocking and moving on because i don't really know what each person's situation is -- maybe they're bookmarking or whatever, but it just doesn't feel too good. i spend so much time and effort into creating my content, and i speak on behalf of ALL writers when i say that a reblog (or even a comment) is the top tier level of support. you're sharing our work, letting us know how you felt. a comment reblog is god tier and i know not everyone has the time or mental capacity, which is OKAY, but serial liking is just an icky thing for me personally, for lack of a better descriptor.
it isn't that i'm not grateful for your support, it's simply that it feels insulting to have spent so much time (hours, days, etc) for it to fall flat because someone couldn't be bothered to take the same amount of time to hit that reblog.
sorry if i'm coming across as salty -- this is a sensitive topic for myself and i'm sure a lot of other people. please note i'm not aiming this at you specifically, but for anyone out there who wants to know more about why serial liking is frowned upon.

Im closing my requests for a while. Anything in my inbox already or I've said I'll do will be completed ☺️
I have loads of family ties in the works, a few one shots as well!
I've got loads of replying to get round to also 🥹
I’m feeling a bit deflated because I’ve recently seen a request to someone else that is identical to one sent to and written by me. I get that people like to see their comfort characters in the same situations but to send an identical request to someone else after I’ve put hard effort into writing something just massively belittles and disrespects the effort that goes into what I, and others, do.🥺 - will still be around 😘 I love you all!!

wish you wrote faster, I've been waiting on a request for ages now
Tumblr media
I got a feeling I know who this but still I have stated multiple times in the past week that I am working through almost 15+ requests while completing college courses and irl stuff which comes before this blog.
If you feel like that's it's taking me ages to complete your request which could be one of the ones I am working on, then please go send it to someone else instead of sending hate on anon to my inbox
Also if you request something from a writer you need to understand that they are people too and not little robots that sit here and produce request’s automatically when you send them. Please be nicer to your writers 💜

y’all know that saying “writers are people, treat them like people!!” means you shouldn’t put them on a pedestal they didn’t ask to be put on, too, right……

The idea that Tommy, a closeted gay man who was desperately trying to fit in in a hyper macho and discriminatory environment, isn't allowed to have any growth from when he was over compensating and was a dick to Chim really pisses me off. He literally had canonical growth to the point he was going for drinks with Chim and Hen in Bobby Begins Again and they got him a fancy leaving cake.
Why isn't he allowed to grow and be better? Because he's white? Because he "gets in the way of buddie"? Because no one is allowed to say and change at all over a decade?
Like this is a queer fandom and I'd bet a lot of money that a ton of people in this fandom said and did things they weren't proud of when they were younger, especially before they came out so they could try and hide it.
I know this is quite a young fandom too but like, it was literally only a decade ago when "gay" was an insult at school and doing anything that could be get you accused of being gay was fucking social suicide. You guys have no idea how lucky you are that people at least get called out for that shit now cause they didn't when I was a kid. I would have done almost anything to just be ignored, let alone accepted, rather than being openly bisexual.
So yeah, I think Tommy is allowed to fucking change as a person because Bobby, Chim and Hen came into his life and allowed him to stop repressing. Stop being such fucking assholes. You aren't any better than him, and frankly the way some of you behave makes the way Tommy acted when he was first in the show look like a fucking saint. Touch some grass.

people on this site will see content creators begging, pleading, screaming for interaction speaking about how disheartened they feel and asking for even a lick of attention and be like "wow it's so presumptuous and cruel to act that way about your loyal customers - the lurkers and viewers on this site!" while not reblogging or interacting with anything and then not two days later they'll have the gall to come online whining about how all of their fandoms are fucking dead. like two guesses as to why that is.

Wow another adult animated show headed by people who don’t know jack shit about the medium and then calls animation inferior and throws their artists under the bus and calls the audience stupid for watching animated media and thinking the only thing worthwhile about adult animation is making it gross and shocking and going “this isn’t like your Saturday morning cartoons haha you fucking idiot” while actually good animated shows with some level of maturity and respect for their audience gets axed left and right
Disappointed but not surprised in the slightest

It's just kind of.... Odd. How dismissive so much of the spn fandom is about the writers who worked on the show. Treating them like they're talentless hacks and proverbial monkeys at typewriters but the thing is that they wrote the thing you love.
Actors will make changes to delivery or tweak lines when filming but ultimately, they are bringing words to life off the page. Words that were written by writers. I am not trying to devalue actors (bc they are also talented professionals), but they are building off of what the writers have created and are breathing life into it -- it's a collaborative partnership.
When a show runs as long as spn you're bound to have absurd coincidences like the villain of 07x12 telling Dean (on the in-universe date of 5 Nov 1944) that his future is covered in black ooze only to have 15x18 and the confession air on 5 Nov 2020. You can have happy accidents like casting an unknown actor in a guest part who is so good that he then goes on to play that role for 12 years. But to dismiss all of the themes and longer narrative arcs and every story decision as the result of writers banging on typewriters with no consideration?
You're devaluing the labor of creatives when you say everything was an accident and nothing was planned and you're playing right into the hands of networks and studios who are trying to screw over and underpay the creatives who they've made their money off of.

Every so often I see anons in mutuals’ inboxes not understanding the deal against empty blogs even if there’s an age, or about blogs that don’t reblog and it just reminds me of how quickly we forget and how quickly we cycle through toxic phases in this community. It's partially because it’s ever-growing with people from Reddit and Twitter and Wattpad writers and everyone else not listed.
It comes and goes in fucking waves so it’s easy to miss if you aren’t here for it, but every handful of months there’s some mass post going around where a writer has been informed of or found their writing (and others') stolen and reposted on another site (9 times out of 10 it’s Wattpad) with the poster taking credit. So often that account and plagiarizer is traced back to an empty blog that’s following all the blogs it stole from. Sometimes they’ll even leave a like that serves as a bookmark so they can come back and steal those words for fake internet points.
Like. For people who have been subjected to that kind of theft, there’s anxiety and distrust that remains. For people who watched it happen (especially time and again because it’s multiple times a year), there’s that voice in the back of their mind when they see someone with a blog that has a header of “Kayleigh (19) Just Reading!!” and nothing else.
And so either these anons who don’t understand why they can’t “lurk in peace” genuinely do not know about the cycle that happens here or they do not care for the people writing the stories and HCs and drabbles they passively enjoy.
Regardless, it only contributes to that growing feeling of being yet another source of quick and convenient consumption and not an actual person sharing their passion with people who might like it.

At the rate you update I'm gona finish your series in chatgtp
Yeah, no.
That's not it.
If you want an AI to spit out a story for you, that's on you. But I did not spend days and weeks plotting, writing and rewriting and going over a fic ten times for you to threaten to put it onto an AI for a quick update.
I work. I am a nurse. I also have a family and friends, and have many other hobbies. Many writers can give you fics on the daily, but I can't. I've never done it and I won't start now. If you want daily updates find another author for you or write yourself.
I write slow, I don't have much time for it. I also have mental and physical issues. I doubt everything I write as English is a self taught language for me. And I've stopped enjoying a series or no longer vibe with it I won't write it because I won't force myself to post some half assed shit that will disappoint others and myself
Feeding fics to AIs is what drives authors away from writing and out of their blogs. Comments like these won't make us update faster it'll only make us wanna quit

I can't see how the writers still think Skystar's a good person. Like, twelve year old me liked him and thought he was interesting, but I was like twelve. And even I knew he was an irredeemable asshole after Moth Flight's Vision. If a twelve year old can figure this stuff out I have no idea what these grown ass writers were doing.
DOTC has a thesis, stated in The First Battle, that really explains everything.
Tumblr media
"Fear and Greed" is just a fake-deep way to reinvent a Good and Evil dichotomy. Because Clear Sky's abuse comes from a place of fear, it means it's not malicious, unlike a "greedy" cat.
He can be "soothed," ergo, he's a fundamentally good person.
Post-First Battle, the books are focusing constantly on his feelings, how sad it makes him to not be trusted, how happy he is when people are on his side. All while he continues to screech at people who tell him what to do, manipulate and mistreat his son, and even still beats and mauls those who offend him.
But because it's "fear," that doesn't matter. That's a justification, an excuse. The writers don't seem to believe in good and bad actions as much as they do good and bad people. True 'evil' comes from a person who hurts others for the wrong reasons, like 'revenge' or malice.
It's abuse apologia. Plain and simple.
The truth is that abusers don't think of themselves as evil people, and everyone, even you and me, is capable of being toxic or abusive. Talk to those who have been abused and we'll tell you; we often stayed because we "saw the good," or even felt responsible for them. Abuse can be passed down through generations because the kids come to believe the way they were treated was normal and okay.
If you go through life thinking that abuse only comes from evil/greedy people, you won't see it when it happens right in front of you. Fundamental good and evil is childish. Abuse comes from fear all the time.
Abuse is about power and control. Fear of rejection, of losing someone, of pain, those are all very common motivators as the abuser tries to stop them from happening before they even begin. It doesn't MATTER that your abuser is in pain too, you NEVER "deserved" what they did in an attempt to break your legs so you wouldn't run.
But... we can all change. Even the worst of us. It's never too late to stop hurting others, move on to a better life, but some people never will. Skystar loves his power, and he keeps that power no matter how many times he misuses it.
He has no reason to change as long as his cruelty rewards him with status and authority.
But the writers are incapable of recognizing that, because for this entire arc, they were stuck in an absurd view of the world in terms of Fear and Greed. Abuse can be excused if he did it for the "right reason," and that makes him "fundamentally different" from the truly evil villains, Slash and One Eye.
Hopefully, it now makes more sense to you.
