This adorable commission was brought to life by the amazing Spidercheetos_ over on Twitter! A tender scene between recently freed robian Sally Acorn and Nicole the Holo-Lynx! Its based on the 7th chapter of my Archie/IDW Sonic crossover fanfic, Rediscovered Frontiers!

Rediscovered Frontiers is a Sonic the Hedgehog fanfic whose main premise is that the IDW continuity is the Post-Super Genesis Wave reality from the Archie Comics. Nicole’s PDA was found by Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf, and together they managed to free Sally from Eggman’s control. Now they must explore a world they never made and uncover the secret history of both this new world and their own

"A Robian's Lament"

Made the sketch for this the same time as the Bunally "Holding Her Heartstrings" piece, but didn't finish until now due to finals. No Christmas art unfortunately, but I might try to bang something out for New Year's (maybe with Tekno and Amy?)

Anyway, this is all tied to an Archie fanfic I'm starting to write (yet another WIP added to the collection lol), hopefully I can start pumping out chapters during winter break. All surrounding a hypothetical scenario where the Super Genesis Wave doesn't happen, and Sally is stuck in her robian body with no hope of deroboticizing her. Lots of angst and the like, hope to get the first chapter up soon.

This is it folks. Perhaps one of the best pieces of art I’ve ever requested to have commissioned done by the fantastic @/finn_ette over on Twitter and posted here with their permission. I cannot thank them enough for it. Because this is the cover for the latest arc of Rediscovered Frontiers. One that I had envisioned in my head for a while and needed the right artist to bring to life.

I'm talking The Fallout of having freed Robians around. How do you move on when your "mind" is free but your body is not. When you have no mind because you're a computer. Your emotions are now so much more obviously processes. Your loved ones hesitate to touch you, to trust you. You cannot laugh authentically anymore. You have to fake it, manually put it where it would have gone in conversation. Sonic's parents are Robots. WHAT ABOUT THE ONES THAT ARE HAPPIER AS ROBIANS!?! NO ONE WOULD EVER TRUST THEM... The ones that manage to find happiness called traitors for not suffering enough. Any time you try to meet with other Robians to discuss what happened to you you get suspicious glares, because too many 'bots in one place is always a bad sign... Not to mention the actual violence that happens against Robians in the comics Come On
