I was one of the few people who was lucky enough to have avoided any spoilers from this song when it was leaked right after the NYC listening party- it was actually one of the main reason why I avoided tiktok and twitter for a while... yall. I prepared myself for this song BUT. IT REALLY DIDN'T HELP. I AM SO VERY UNWELL.

It fits SO PERFECTLY with the theme of Wasteland, Baby! and I want to throw hands with Andrew for just letting this sit in a folder in a laptop but I can forgive him because it's out now.

I LOVE that it sounds imperfect, like he gets into these off-kilter flows and runs, but it's deliberate?!! AND IT WORKS WELL.

[Video description: Ultraman Blazar, a colossal grey humanoid alien with red and blue markings on his body, and blue markings on his face, performs his signature salutation in several different places and times. This salutation consists of raising his arms up to the sky in a circular motion, and bringing his knee up before stepping into a lunge and scooping his arms down and upward.

From episode 1, in a city at night, the camera watches from below, as Blazar performs his salutation and his markings flash red and blue. The shot cuts to a wider one, showing off the buildings and Blazar's opponent, Bazanga, a prawn-like Kaiju. After his salute, Blazar moves his hands into a guarded, fighting stance.

From Episode 2: Blazar stands against the bright blue day sky in a small fishing village, with much shorter buildings. He faces the camera directly as he does his salutation, and the camera zooms in on him as he does it and his markings flash red and blue once more.

From Episode 3: Blazar is framed in a head and shoulder shot and smothered in smoke as his colour time, a big round spot on his chest that is normally blue, flashes red. Once more he faces the camera as he does his salutation, before flying off, kicking up dirt in his takeoff.

From episode 5: Blazar stands behind the sleeping kaiju, Dorgo, who looks mostly like a hill of dirt in this shot. He performs his salutation, and immediately begins to push the sleeping Kaiju back to its proper resting place. The shot switches to one of Blazar from behind, as he continues to push Dorgo back into place, among the green hills and mountains of the Japanese countryside. With a thump, Dorgo returns to his resting spot, and Blazar turns to face the camera as he jumps up into the air to fly away.

Like tbh I knew the finale was gonna be a hot mess bc HBO cut 2 episodes out which is already insanely rough to fit all the content needed for a narrative tv series, but the fact that HBO didn't even let them have 40mins to an hour for their finale episode and had them finish it off in 30 MINUTES is ridiculous.

Fuck publishing companies, I hope if they do get renewed for the final season they get back 10 episodes and are allowed to have more time to write before principal photography, they did their best with what they had but it's hard not to mourn the loss of the little moments and the time to breathe between scenes.

#twentyfiiiiiveeee #spn #spnart #spn art #trueforms #mine.caro #spn fanart #ok so cas in this one isn't that special. he's pretty much like he was in 4x16 with some extra things so not that different from #the first ever trueform i made!! wow!! throwback monday! the differences are that the Red Right Hand 2: Gay Boogaloo is there #and there's a line like the ones in the fallen angel designs running through the trueform to parallel lucifer's fall like in the ep itself #and i tried out a new color i got recently in the wheels that is SO pretty. it's turquoise but sooo shiny. like the gold and silver paints #the red in the hand isn't as neatly edited as i'd hope for bc i'm still using photopea and it's so laggy #but anyways. cas wasn't the focus here bc he's pretty much 4x16+ftbym. the focus was lucifer bc i chose this moment #to be the one lucifer trueform i'm gonna make bc let's face it #the main things don't change much throughout time. and he had to be different from every other angel #so i thought. what's a deviation from geometric AFS that isn't flowy non-geometric and is clear and noticeable and gritty and grim #and i thought it could be the black and white not being separate at all anymore. a whirlwind of distortion from isolation and torment etc #so i did a basic trueform with a felt tip pen (a new eye design with some spirals sprouting from it and some upside down wings) #and then i smudged it all with rubbing alcohol on a toothbrush. you can still see the pattern underneath all this as the basis #then i did some fuckery with black and white acrylics and a really rough paintbrush. and then i got some crimson red and some silver #i dunked a metal chain in it and i smacked the paper with the chain. the idea was for that to be the vestiges of the angel wheels #crumbled and torn and broken. red and silver. smudged. uglee #and there's the Wanting hands coming from that whole mess. all reaching upwards whereas when cas has them they're reaching everywhere #oh and i added some white paint with a really tiny paintbrush too. and i think that's it #i'll add these to the stores later and i still haven't added zachariah bc i haven't managed to edit the scans with the right specs #but soon #this lucifer has some pollock vibes but it was honestly accidental it just built up as i added more layers

i'm almost done with the davies era and it's really been amazing so far but real talk a lot of people on here let him get away with some stuff that would've been crucified if moffat had written it. i know davies always regretted it and thankfully rectified it this year for the 60th but if ten violating donna's autonomy as she screamed for him to stop had been eleven instead, we'd never have heard the end of it. same w martha's treatment by the narrative

I'm not like a lore knower, only listened to Palisade one episode a week as they were coming out, but I'm pregnant with thoughts and interpretations. I think the worst thing about me as a fan, the way in which I'm enjoying it wrong, is my big heart eyes for Connadine.

Love a minimum cool/maximum evil swagless academic type of man. Thinking about him now that his whole carefully crafted high concept deal I'd assume has been backburnered by the Bilats because of the unspeakable horror. Wonder how upset he is just in terms of having his project derailed (I would love it sooo much if he secretly hated the Stargrave for being stupid more than anything <3).

(At least I'm pretty sure he wasn't in anything after the escalation, and we haven't seen his actual current situation, otherwise oops)

Love the Divine, Arbitrage very much as well, wonder where it is and what its stakes are, if it has a way out, if it's also facing physical death and maybe whatever happens, Arbitrage wins isn't true anymore. It made a weird desparate move in PAL22, contracts whatever, feels like a figleaf for just making Mustard Red hand over the blueprints. (And it failed!) Like yeah it's protecting its business interests but also, what if the Divine, Arbitrage is terrified of dying.

oh g-d ok. so the way i said even the best torchwood eps are 70% good 30% bad? well my least favorite eps are like, 80% bad, 20% something that fucking rots my brain... and my resentment + frustration is increased by the fact that, like, im not able to dismiss the ep completely bc there's like two or three good things in all the mess. so then i have to revisit it, and every time i do im reminded how bad it is. jgkfgk. so it builds up my disdain more than usual

ok i have a particular grudge against adam. it makes me viscerally angry. i have a tangible hatred for adam!owen like JGKFKGKGKF it's semi inexplicable but he makes me angryyyyy. i see ppl gush about him being cute in that ep - to me, he comes across as a pushy niceguy in it and it grosses me tf out, and i hateeee the towen implications there, bc usually it's switched, right? so if confident!tosh is like normal!owen, i dislike conflating stalkery niceguy!owen with normal!tosh, like?? bc if adam!owen's love for tosh mirrors normal!tosh's love for him, then the way adam!tosh feels about adam!owen (aka, legitimate disgust + disdain) is Not a good sign for how normal!owen feels about normal!tosh. she's cruel to him in that ep, just like he's usually cruel to her, and it's just... eugh. i continue to be #1 towen critic. baffles me that the show was tryna pass them off as cute - baffles me that ppl FIND them cute. more about that when i talk abt my notps ig 😭

(adam cont.) and then i hated the jack plot, but that's a me thing bc i hate the gray arc. i also hated adam taking advantage of tosh. ianto's plotline was underwhelming to me, like ig it's cool i just haven't ever thought of it since i first saw it fff. i like the concept of the ep, i just disliked the execution. that being said - the scene where they're all gathered around the conference table haunts me. one of my favs.

then we have dead man walking, my beloathed. i like the resurrection scene itself, and gwen & owen's hug... and that's it. the rest is so ridiculous n bad n corny n an insult to owen 😭 and they MAJORLY flubbed the jack & owen scenes like they had sm potential to explore shit there n they DIDNT. unforgivable. the jail cell should've been fantastic n it's just... meh. i hate that ep it's laughable. there's some good shit sprinkled in but it's not explored, like owen would've been horrified at something possessing him n invading him, esp bc he has control issues - but they dont dwell on it. he WAS pissed off w jack for bringing him back - but they don't dwell on it. martha's clearly dealing w survivor's guilt, the team are experiencing loss, and none of that's properly touched. it's just. ugh. ill talk about some of this stuff more when i talk abt scenes i wish i could fix

my other one i dislike, although my grudge is less personal, is adrift. it's alright on its own, i just hate it being at the end of s2, when we only have two episodes left with tosh and owen. i feel like it was a prime time to do a tosh episode, because she was majorly underutilized as a character, like the show never prioritizes her (+ all her eps are romantic plots which annoys me personally. shes a fucking cyberterrorist why didnt we get an ep about that). i also hate that owen was deemed irrelevant after his undead arc. grr. i for one love gwen adventure eps (+ andy's in that one!!!! and rhys like im fond of all of them so i like those eps) it just feels like a missed opportunity to highlight one of them one last time. esp tosh. owen got enough attention gkfkgk
