you still haunt me in my dreams every night

and it would've been better if

you were some kind of monster

creeping into my bed

trying to suck my soul out

getting the life out of me

it would've been much better if

you had red eyes, pale face, disheveled hair

wearing a long white gown

floating

trying to scare me off

but its worse

because you haunted me

with your smile

that shines through the whole field

I cannot compare it with the brightness of the sun

you haunted me with

your twinkling eyes

that I loved looking into

and your slim, elongated fingers

clasping into mine

as if there's no tomorrow

we stared into each other

like we're the only ones left

like its the last day of our lives

we laughed, we sang, we danced to the tune of our own voices

I hated it so much

I hate it

because I let it happen

like I was watching from afar

but I was there

I felt everything

I felt calm

I felt at peace

I felt at home

I felt like i'm the happiest person in the world

I felt how real it was

I felt everything

and I also felt how I woke up

thinking if that was all true

and I hated myself more

for wishing it was

because it all felt like a memory

a memory that never happened

a memory that will never happen
