what do you mean by ""reylo dynamic""??
okay. first thing to understand is when i say "reylo dynamic" in a ship or pairing or style of writing romance it isnt unique to reylo. a lot of popular fandoms have some variation of "the reylo dynamic" its just reylo has popularized and kind of mass marketed what used to be a niche fandom ship dynamic so its what i call it as shorthand
The Reylo Dynamic™ usually has specific traits (note: it does not need to have all of these, just a significant amount). canon characterization does not matter either, all it comes down to is the fandom portrayal of the ship by and large (think dramoine and kacchako). the only hardline one is this:
>spunky female character (usually protag of the story) who is at least a little combative with the male lead, and a male lead who is otherwise grumpy/brooding/mysterious
for the common traits:
>female lead is usually brown haired, shorter, with emphasis on being petite and small. idk why even reylo stories they do this even tho daisy ridley isnt that short???
>male lead is usually dark haired and typically described as "unconventionally attractive" exactly
>female lead usually has to prove herself or feels like she has to prove herself. like. as a big thing. it can be one big moment or her constantly feeling like shes being condescended to for some perceived weakness (like: being a woman, being small, not knowing how to control magic powers, whatever). important thing to note is she will often not get over this until like the very end of the story if ever
>usually bc this dynamic can be hard to accommodate for and write around (bc the two romantic leads DONT WANT TO BE AROUND EACH OTHER) there is usually some kind of plot contrivance keeping them together. fated lovers, soul mates, class project, you name it. i feel this is usually a cop out bc i spend most of the plots feeling like they should just fuck and get it over with
>there is almost always miscommunication. and the annoying kind. every time i have tried to suffer thru a story with The Reylo Dynamic™ in novel format i find myself annoyed. bc i dont believe most of the time this is a real, normal, very human break down of communication. i constantly feel like one of them is being an unreasonable or frankly stupid brat in the situation purely for the sake of plot convenience. do you know how dumb it is to see a woman who has lost her job, her only friend, her boyfriend, and her mom get told by some hot guy "hey due to circumstances outside of ur control that i dont blame u for we have to get married also im rich and will take care of ur every need and im not asking for romance i just need magic powers back of mine that u technically have and if u dont marry me they'll also go out of control and kill you" and the woman. is mad and pissy abt it and deliberately makes problems for him. bitch u were at rock bottom and this guy is offering u free rent and food and answers to all the questions you had since chapter 1. and ur mad abt it. theres no moral objections she has to him she's just annoyed bc????????????? i guess she is being asked to do something????????? bc she doesnt wanna look weak?????????? bc shes cranky??????????????? i dont know. id cut her some slack to start with but she just keeps deliberately antagonizing him until they fuck. i gave up reading it was a slog
>lots of bickering and jabs at the other. depending on the rating of the story this will only be resolved with hatefucking. even then it usually wont fully be resolved. while i am a fan of hatefucking there is smth abt how much of a slog it is to watch it in the reylo dynamic bc of the next point:
>usually the author never commits to them having a real, genuine, non-imagined reason to being combative with each other or hating each other, NOR having a real, genuine, non-imagined reason to be together and make it work and be happy. they live in this limbo between dislike. a constant "will they wont they" but instead of the will they or wont they in question being hooking up its instead if they will break up or not. it's like watching a very incompatible couple refuse to work things out by talking and sorting through their own issues AND refusing to just break up and see other ppl more compatible. id rather there be genuine dislike or even hatred they have to sort thru and actually make progress in. dont half ass making a guy horrible. give me a reason why the mc hates him. or if it is imagined by the mc, show the mc processing it properly and working thru it and having proper character growth. but they dont bc the bickering is part of the appeal and making one or both of them genuinely bad ppl breaks the fantasy. or smth.

Self-Publishing Thoughts #2: Resources!
Okay, first thing I’m gonna do is point you to people other than me. :)
I’ll divide these up between free and low-cost resources, all of them either used by me, or recommended by self-published authors I reached out to directly for advice.
There are a lot more resources out there, of course! If you have ones you want to share, feel free to mention them in a reply or rb.
Free Resources
20Booksto50K FB group: a very active FB group where indie authors discuss all sides of the self-publishing process. Their experience is honestly extremely valuable, I’ve learned a lot from them.
Wide for the Win FB group: another very active FB group where indie authors discuss wide distribution (basically, not only selling via Amazon.) More extremely helpful resources and discussions, I’ve also learned a ton through this group.
David Gaughran’s Starting from Zero Free Online Class: free series all about learning how to self-publish!
David Gaughran’s book Following: all about author audiences and how to garner a, you guessed it, following
David Gaughran’s Newsletter: if you liked Starting from Zero, you should get on his self-publishing newsletter. He sends out more free advice several times a month.
Tammi Lebrecque’s Newsletter: similar to David’s, but she really focuses on the author newsletter side of things. You’ll see a book of hers in the low-cost list as well.
Alli (Alliance of Independent Authors): they do offer paid material, but they also have free articles and conferences. I learned a lot at their recent self-pub con, which they streamed about a month ago.
A.K. Mulford’s Resource Page: tons and tons of links here!
Travis Baldree’s Article: talking about his experience publishing Legends and Lattes, which did insanely well for a debut novel!
Other Authors: Like AK above, many other authors have pages on their sites with collected resources. I’ve also reached out to some directly, and they’ve been extremely generous in replying back with helpful tips. (That’s how I found out about the FB groups on this list!)
Low-Cost Resources (Books)
Newsletter Ninja by Tammi Lebrecque: all about author newsletters; why they’re important, how to set them up, and how to keep them going
Self-Publisher’s Legal Handbook by Helen Sedwick: self-explanatory, I think.
Please don’t pirate these books! You can find used versions of these books that are only a few bucks.
Notes
Not all of these resources will be relevant to you! If you don’t plan on profiting from your writing, the Legal Handbook may be overkill. If you already know that you only plan to distribute via Amazon, then Wide for the Win won’t be for you.
And a note on 20Booksto50K- there are writers there of all different walks of life. And some of them can be kind of intimidating- releasing 10 books a year, running promos that cost hundreds of dollars, etc. A lot of folks there would consider 3 books a year to be a “slow” release, and it’s accepted as a normal frame of mind.
Please note that a lot of those folks are full-time writers who churn out books in very specific niches (eg- bully romance, small-town mystery). They don’t necessarily use editors, they make the book covers themselves, and they write as their day job. That very specific ability, process, and honestly privilege may not apply to you, and that’s okay. That’s something I have to keep in mind every time I look at that group. For me, I write in my spare time, I will only be able to publish once a year, and I will always use an editor and a cover designer. I just don’t roll like they do, and that’s okay!
Do you have more resources to add to this list? Reply or rb!

[image description: a cropped picture of a leafy orange tree in front of a vibrant blue sky. across the photo, in a white serif font reads "CAMP NANO WRAP-UP" in all caps. /end id]
whoops did not plan to do a post like this but also did not plan to work on more than one project 🤸 i hit my goal much sooner than expected but i still wanted to ride the camp nano wave so i kinda just. wrote what i wanted as long as i wrote every day lmao. now I'm more focused on planning and researching than actually drafting so I figured I could wrap up the month now! I'm v happy with the progress I made. I'm only sharing three, but I got progress on four projects and a short story 🤩
LIFE CYCLE OF MASSIVE STARS ; 22,803 words ; yeah I definitely needed a break after writing like 20k in like 2 weeks LMAO BUT it's going well and I'm enjoying drafting the rest much slower! I love this book sm (Context on the excerpt: someone asked Tomas what his dream house would look like and he just described his childhood house but like specifically how he remembers it from his childhood because even if he can go back to the house he can never go back to the home </3)
Fireworks shatter behind your heads. Streetlights drip onto pavement puddles. You don’t have an answer ready. “I think it’d be very rustic. Cosy, you know? Big windows with big windowsills you can sit on.” The house in your head is alive but hazy, images blended like a bleeding watercolour painting. “There’d be a big garden, but because it’s in the countryside it feels even bigger. Like it’s not in the middle of nowhere, but it’s quiet. Like you can hear the air in the morning.” When you speak, it’s 2004. Seven years old. The sleepy drawl of morning radio. Dad’s botanical office, watering plants with your elephant-shaped can whilst he lists their names. “I want loads of plants too. Monstera, dracaena, spider plant, ivy…realistically they’d be a nightmare to keep alive but like you said, this is a dream.” When you speak, it’s 2018. Twenty-one years old. Sat on a brick wall in front of houses whose windows bleed amber. One of them has a star ornament hung on the window. Another already has their Christmas tree up. If you gaze hard enough, you can draw out the silhouettes of people that move and speak and breathe and live in houses in the Netherlands and not England. “Yeah, a cosy house. One with lots of memories.” You smile at your silhouettes, you pretend they have faces to smile back.
Also Tomas came out as being on the aromantic spectrum last week everyone say congratulations Tomas :)
REVELATIONS, REVELATIONS ; 7,142 words ; I keep thinking I know this book and then it keeps punching me in the jaw. Had some plot revelations (aha) that I am both excited for and terrified of :) anyway here's Felix at a party he def doesn't want to be at (cw for alcohol and implied sex and drug use, nothing explicit)
The party is a feeble attempt to razzmatazz 1986 into something bigger than it was. Madonna’s album from summer whirls across the apartment. Groups of strangers with alcohol-flushed faces laugh too loud. Terry from Apartment 5 shoves through the door with a champagne bottle in each hand and Margot from Apartment 7 pours too much vodka into her Blue Lagoon. Cheap coloured lights soak the room in purple. Red solo cups discarded on the coffee table. The air fuzzy and neon. A man with a beer-stained shirt and pupils like Magic 8 Balls informs Felix that he and his boyfriend are looking for a third. Felix politely declines.
and here's a soft sapphic kiss with concerning undertones :)
Tonight her lips don’t taste like Jolie, they taste like her blood. But Dorothy has kissed Jolie so many times she’s not sure what “Jolie” tastes like anymore: sometimes it’s drugstore lipstick, sometimes it’s cherry cola, beer, bubble-gum, tobacco. Sometimes it’s sunlight, rain, fog. Tonight it’s blood, and the taste sticks to her tongue. Cars hum outside. The unshaded lightbulb casts them in a dull halo.
MADE OF INDIGO ; a novel idea that recently ambushed me and now I'm hooked. It's too early to properly introduce but: trans mlm romance! Road trip! Fleet Foxes vibe! :) the mental impact of unsupportive families and systematic transphobia :( anyway I've known Cyrus for like a week and I would die and kill for him. I'm not drafting yet, just playing with prose!
Cyrus has bulb-shaped fairy lights across his desk that flicker like the wings of a dying moth, but he keeps them up because he likes how they look in the sunlight. Cyrus sneaks cake batter and says he didn’t even though it kisses the corners of his lips. Cyrus fiddles with his beaded bracelet when he’s nervous. Cyrus has a moon-shaped reading lamp that he forgets to turn off. Cyrus will wake with dawn even if he falls asleep at two, three, four in the morning. Cyrus’ favourite colour is turquoise and his favourite flavour is cherry and his favourite season is summer and his favourite planet is Neptune. Cyrus says he doesn’t understand poetry but when I asked him why he chose his name he said he wanted to pocket a trace of sunlight even after the day is swallowed by the night.
since i didn't do a camp nano taglist i'll just torment the general one! ask to be added or removed;

Experiments in Writing: A Critique of Creative Work Within Queering, Feminism, and the Work of Sigmund Freud
For my creative work that I undertook in this module, I chose to focus on the idea of Queering. As well as this, I found myself influenced by the theories and works of Sigmund Freud[1], as well as using several feminist texts, both literary and theoretical, to try and establish a connection between the three ideas within my writing. Due to the essay Freud wrote on The Uncanny[2], he theories and ideas are already heavily tied to gothic literature as a whole, which made connecting him to my work a lot easier. I focused on short stories based upon fairy tales and attempted to alter the narrative of each of the original texts to suit the concept I had come up with. Based upon some of the work from lessons, I used a form of metalepsis[3]within my stories, trying to shift the perception of gender and sexuality within a gothic literate format. I was inspired to take this route by one of my favourite authors, a feminist writer called Angela Carter[4]. Her work in The Bloody Chambers and Other Stories[5] was a major source of inspiration for my work and helped me to develop my writing format and style throughout this module. I chose to focus my work on these theories as I felt that they were somewhat contradictory of one another, and I felt that the juxtaposition of these ideas would help to elevate my writing towards something outside of the usual style I worked in.
For my first creative piece, a short story titled The Wolves in the Woods, I wanted to focus mostly on several of Freud’s most infamous theories. The creative work itself was heavily inspired by a short story written by Angela Carter called The Company of Wolves[6]. I had read this story during college and found the way she addressed gender play and sexuality a fascinating plot device. Not only this, but the way that she would take fairytales that were commonly known amongst readers and adjusted the story to appeal to a wider feminist reading. I agree that a lot of fairytales have subtle sexist undertones that usually place women and men in specific boxes, and I enjoyed reading Carter’s reimagining of this.
Because of the theories I had been researching for the module, I found that writing influences like Carter were juxta-positioned with theories like Freud. One of the main theories I hoped to translate into creative work was the three agents of Freud’s idea of the psyche, often referred to as the ‘id, ego, and super-ego’[7]. As Freud explains, the id ‘contains everything that is inherited, that is present at birth, is laid down in the constitution — above all, therefore, the instincts, which originate from the somatic organization, and which find a first psychical expression here (in the id) in forms unknown to us’[8]. The ego and super-ego, on the other hand, represented the more intelligent side of humans, made of ideas like common sense and cultural norms and opinions taught to children by their parents and the society they live in. This concept of basic instinct versus the laws of society was something I could instantly connect to the gothic literature of Carter, as well as feminism and Queering due to their association with being historically against society’s idea of normal.
When I began to plot out my creative work, I realised that the entire concept of a werewolf was a literary device for man’s inner turmoil between instinct and reason, aka the id and the ego/super-ego. I attempted to flout the tropes of romance writing by presenting a werewolf who, unlike many other fictional interpretations, does not ignore the basic animalist instincts for his love interest. Rather, they compromise, accepting equal shares of idand ego, whilst completely casting aside the rules society sets, therefore ignoring the concept of the super-ego. By casting aside the rules that are hinted at through the story, the protagonist is freed, as shown by the ending of the story being ‘amongst the howls beseeching the night, was a woman’s cries of joy entering the chorus’[9].
Throughout the beginning of the story, the structure of the super-ego is important to the world-building of the setting. Another of Freud’s theories that I used for my first creative piece was the Madonna-Whore complex, which suggests that women either fit the role of the pure virginal wife, or the corrupted succubus. The implication of the theory is that women can only be one or the other, with the Madonna being the ‘preferred’ female archetype. In The Wolves in the Woods I allowed my protagonist to undergo a narrative transformation using the Queering literary device metalepsis. Judith Butler’s point on metalepsis helped to carve the character development in my work through her statement that ‘the performativity of gender revolves around this metalepsis… performativity is not a singular act, but a repetition, a ritual’[10]. Through my first creative piece, I tried to show a progression from a Madonna-like character to someone who embodies the whore, which is summed up by the end of my story in a paragraph ‘She is not the trodden women of the village, with their heads wrapped in silk, hidden from men and from the world. Now she sits upon the lap of the wolf, who stares at her with pupils blown wide, ears open and perked’ [11]and separates her from the other women, transforming her in just two sentences and completing the metalepsis.
However, this is not the only instance of metalepsis in this story. Whilst this is more of a metaphorical sense of metalepsis, the actual idea of a werewolf is a physical form of this literary device. This was another way of connecting the two characters. They both undergo some form of transformation and simultaneously must learn to adapt due to their place in the world. To make this clearer, I used repetition in the way they were described to further suggest the idea that their roles in society were different. These sentences, ‘Lycanthrope: the ability to shift, to transform, to adapt’ and ‘Woman: the ability to shift, to transform, to adapt’ were written this way because they also implied that both Lycanthrope and Woman were ‘things’ rather than people.
A major point to the majority of my stories was taking traditional gender roles within fairy tales and adjusting the narrative around them, which is one of the entire concepts behind the literary device of metalepsis. I did research on masculinity within fairy tales[12]- and gothic literature in general- and found a few feminist articles that discussed how these male characters were influenced by the masculine ideals of the time, and how it affects the narrative of the novels they appear in as a whole[13]. An essay by Alice Neikirk found evidence that ‘Rather than being a mere reflection of societal ideals, these fairytales perpetuate Christian, patriarchal concepts as a means of maintaining the gender hierarchy’[14]. I find that exploring fairytales through Freudian concepts was easy, as a lot of Freud’s theories focused on societal expectations and the way they can shape the human psyche. To an extent, fairytales, including my own, are a prose form of rules and morals set by the society who shares them, usually used as a form of control over children, mainly young girls.
Therefore, when applying psychoanalytical theories to my work, I attempted to subvert some of the typical rules set in fairytales by changing the roles of characters. An example of this is my final story, Eilidh’s Prince, which featured a lesbian romance whereupon one of the characters assumes the role of a man for a brief period. I felt that this was the best choice for the plot because of the symbolism of castration anxiety that is prevalent throughout the story. This is something I made clear when I chose to write the line ‘A fanged rose, a vertical grimace they cower from, lest it bite back’[15]. The idea of castration anxiety[16] is another of Freud’s theories, something he viewed as part of the uncanny. The idea is that men fear castration, perhaps as a punishment for their lust or simply the idea of becoming women, but I attempted to transform this idea by having a woman become a man temporarily, knowing the ‘fanged rose’ was not something she had to fear. I wanted to create a sense of dramatic irony that also came from Carter’s work. One story in particular that inspired me for this was ‘The Erl-King’ where the title character is described as ‘an excellent housewife’[17]. Through this, Carter has transgressed the usual boundaries of gender, and attributes feminine qualities to her male character. I took my version a little more literally and allowed my love interest to dress as a male.
For the other story in my collection, The Fae Prince and The Pomegranate[18], I also had used The Erl-King[19]as my main inspiration. However, unlike my two other pieces, this one was also partially inspired by historical mythology, which is another passion of mine. The mythology I chose to use for my work was the story of Hades, God of the Underworld, and Persephone[20]. Greek Mythology lends itself to fairytales as they could technically be considered a tale of their own time. Not only this, but I find that the nature of the Celtic myth of Fae is similar to the rules of the Underworld according to Greek accounts of Hades and Persephone. The main rule that comes to mind between both is that eating in their respective territories, according to legends, will force the victim to remain there forever. However in doing my research I found that certain myths suggest that Persephone had in face willingly gone to the Underworld, hence her name changing from Kore (meaning ‘the maiden’) to Persephone, which means ‘the bringer of death’[21]. The use of the pomegranate as a way of tying the Prince to the mortal girl and by extension her world was my way of applying both Fae rules and still using the mythology that I had used to construct the story’s foundations.
In conclusion, I enjoyed using these theories and influences to create my stories. I found that the use of experimental ideas and writing gave me more freedom than the usual styles I had been writing in. Comparing feminism and queering with the likes of Freud proved to be quite a challenge, but I feel that it paid off, as I have been able to create an unusual set of stories heavily inspired by authors’ works that I have long looked up to as gothic fantasy literature with heavy symbolism and use of metaphors and euphemisms that made the stories more interesting.

▲ ICHIRUKI (also that edit!!!! my heart!!!!!)
Unpopular Opinion #1: I really dislike the notion that’s been built up in the fandom that Ichigo and Rukia understand each other perfectly just through eye contact and that they don’t need to talk (and certainly not about their feelings!) because they’re soulmates and uwu just so perfect for each other. Because that’s bullshit, and it’s just not borne out by how they act in the text.
They’re incredibly damaged people who heal each other and develop a very deep and intuitive understanding of each other, but they clearly didn’t always have that understanding and even once they do, they remain somewhat codependent on each other. The clearest evidence of that understanding taking time to develop is the prelude to the Grand Fisher fight, when Rukia is chastising herself after Ichigo says he killed his mother. Then she comes back and gives her speech:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ichigo famously parrots this back at Isshin later. Like, my dudes, it is unambiguously right there in black and white: they still need to communicate complex shit verbally. They’re good at reading one another’s emotional states and knowing when things are wrong with each other… but they aren’t psychic. They still need to talk. And that is why whenever Ichigo is in a funk, Rukia gives a speech to snap him out of it: she talks to him.
And I feel like this perception is fueled by the fact Kubo went out of his fucking way to separate them as much as possible within the pages of his manga and to ignore most of the time they did have together to talk because it got in the way of shounen-y things or whatever other bullshit explanation he might’ve had.
A whole month of Rukia’s two months in Ichigo’s closet, including his 16th birthday? Not shown.
Ichigo staying in Soul Society for a week, presumably around Rukia rather than his friends? Not shown.
Ichigo and Rukia’s day together after her return from Soul Society before the fight with Grimmjow? Not shown.
Ichigo and Rukia in the aftermath of Ichigo regaining his Shinigami powers in the Xcution arc? Not shown.
Ichigo and Rukia training in the Soul King’s Palace together? Not shown.
Ichigo and Rukia in the immediate aftermath of the war? Not shown.
They had an awful lot of time to just talk. And they presumably did talk, given for example that Ichigo knew Rukia would be at Kuukaku’s house if she wasn’t in Soul Society—he had to have some idea about Kaien, and that means she must’ve told him about him. But we didn’t see it.
Because Kubo is a wuss and refused to let anyone interact for any reason, but especially not people who’d talk for hours and hours due to having a natural and easy interpersonal connection. (The live-action movie is canonical as to how Ichigo and Rukia’s downtime would’ve gone down, fight me.)
Unpopular Opinion #2: In a related fashion, a lot of people in fandom say they’re not the kind of people to outright say “I love you” to one another. And while that is admittedly a very Japanese position to take (as saying “aishiteru” is considered really dramatic) I would counter by saying that Ichigo and Rukia very much are the  D R A M A T I Q U E  sorts who would do exactly that.
Like, come on, they met with Ichigo kicking Rukia in the ass, Rukia drawing a mustache on Ichigo’s face, and Rukia stabbing Ichigo through the heart to transfer her soul powers to him after he cracked some sexual innuendo like “Let’s do it.” Then there’s Ichigo’s various arrivals in the Soul Society arc, and Rukia’s arrivals at the start of the Arrancar, Hueco Mundo, and Xcution arcs to pay him back, which are all dramatic as fuck. It’s always spectacle with them around each other, and they can’t seem to help it.
Oh, but it’d be too dramatic for them to say “I love you”? As if. They’re precisely the kind of people to spring “I love you,” on each other in a society where that doesn’t happen often, just like they almost instantly skip to being on a first-name basis and start up that rumor mill. They would just need some time to come around to it.
I originally wrote here that: “(The Leia/Han thing from The Empire Strikes Back of “I love you,” and “I know,” would fit perfectly at the end of chapter 423, in either configuration, and you cannot convince me otherwise.)” I instead went and made it and gave it its own post, but you can have it again:
Tumblr media
Tell me this does not work. Tell me it does not feel canonical. Tell me it doesn’t feel like them. And I’ll call you a bloody liar for your troubles!
Unpopular Opinion #3: They’re both switches. Neither is a defined top or bottom, sub or dom. (And to be honest, I pretty much hate the whole concept/trope in fandom for all ships that each party must be one defined thing.)
This is more of a Rukia-specific note but she tries to be so put-together and in-control all of the time that the idea that her thing is being in charge strikes me as weird; she’d seem just as if not more likely to have a kink of losing or giving up control (and being coaxed/made to forget her responsibilities/past as part of the act) simply because it was novel.
Meanwhile, on a more Ichigo specific note... Shirosaki/Hichigo/Zangetsu is basically Ichigo’s id and has a real thing for being The King and riding “a horse,” and you’re gonna tell me Ichigo’s an innocent bottom? Nah. I think Ichigo’s a little shy and seems fairly close to demisexual if anything, but he is also still clearly interested in women (as Yoruichi, Rangiku, and Tenjirou of all people could attest) and I think given what we see of Zangetsu, he would be pretty eager to learn.
(I would probably call them both demisexual overall. But they’re switches.)
Unpopular Opinion #4: This is IchiRuki-tangential, but I cringe when people write Byakuya as disapproving of Ichigo in particular or IchiRuki in general for the sake of petty drama. Post-Soul Society, Byakuya is absolutely Ichigo’s biggest booster other than Rukia (ahead of Isshin, Karin, Yuzu, Orihime, Chad, Uryuu, Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro, Kisuke, Yoruichi, Juushirou, Shunsui, et alia).
Dude did his best to kill Tsukishima, who he thought was a mentor-figure at the time, because he wanted to hurt Ichigo. He would be fucking thrilled, in his severely understated and conservative Byakuya way. The omake material with Byakuya getting Ichigo a lifetime meal pass in Soul Society is another example of this.
Other than Rukia there is no one more likely to start singing “Number One,” and you can’t tell me he wouldn’t support them given that. I feel this should also broadly be reflected in most AU settings because it’s pretty fundamental to Byakuya’s development as a character.
Unpopular Opinion #5: This one is for the Bleach community at large, and I’ll say it real simply: there isn’t a single plot point or sequence of events in the rest of the pile of shit that is Bleach that works one bit without Ichigo and Rukia’s relationship as the lynchpin holding it all up. There is no manga without them and their interactions.
It is, as I have said before, functionally more of a supernatural romance than an urban fantasy because of this. IR is like, the goddamn Higgs field of Bleach: it gives everything else mass.

I dont think I ever said anything about this, but when I replayed the skyrim romance mod after it got an update a while back, it seemed like someone read my random comments about it and like....actually tweaked the mod?? which is really cool imo. putting this under a cut since I think the mod still generally has a bad rep, even though it seems like theyre working on that in some capacity. I didnt really even know what the drama was about in the first place.
literally everything I talked about that could be fixed within a reasonable amount of time was fixed. back then (~3-4 yrs ago) I was a little more tolerant of the “bad boy, borderline abusive” type and while the character himself seems to be intentionally pushy, it seems to be a bit better. if I remember correctly, I think they cut the rapey bits and just worked around it so that bishop was still a brat about your player not wanting to have sex, but not a scary horny nutcase. theres a big difference between “youre gonna have sex with me one of these days wench!!” and “ugh, fine, be like that!” its def not A+, but it is an improvement that still suits the character. I obviously wasnt too bothered with the earlier version back then (had some stuff I was going through), but now I can see the concern, and to me its less cringey. Id have to replay it again to see how I feel exactly, but Im sure its better at least.
they re-did the whole interaction with cael so instead of him talking about how he could give you orgasms like youve never seen, hes cautious of you yet still kind of flirty. a real sweetie. I mean, I like the new bit, but he could also let me know hes dtf a little bit. lmao thats just me though.
the one thing I did not like too much was that they added animations for the sex scenes, and that you had no choice but to sit through them (unless you said no to sex altogether). since I literally set the camera so that I could not see the sex anims, I did get to hear bishops VA during the scenes and Imma just say.......... you should hear them. even if its just the once. lmao. I read that theyre gonna cut out the sex mod dependencies so that you can just have fade to black scenes, and I am for that 1000000%.
now I just hope it gets ported it to the special edition, because it seems waaay too hard and time consuming to do it myself. I tried to start but the list of tasks was just too long to justify working on when I have homework and other stuff to do.
outside all that, I can see why there was such a bad vibe surrounding the mod at first. it all made sense when I read about the drama on reddit, but the harshness  was a bit... much?? from what I read, the creator made some bad choices and eventually acknowledged/fixed them. her reasoning and intentions for making them could be questionable, but people are human, idk what else to say. Im just... not grabbing a pitchfork over this and I fail to see any reason to continue that now lmao. she obviously still wants to hold everything together for the mod and do things better so... Im not gonna hold a grudge even if she made bad choices. she ultimately canceled the kickstarter, and this is all ultimately over a mod. a skyrim mod. you either wanna play and support it or you dont because of very valid reasons. its up to you. but either way it just will never be that serious.
I honestly got the impression that she might be a bad person from stuff I read until I got the chance to read about everything, and then I was like wow.. she fucked up, but the worst thing she did was undone the same day it happened so...like... yall couldve just went on about your lives and left this woman alone.
anyway, long talk. it seems like the mods at a standstill, since it hasnt been ported to the SE yet and I dont think the creator herself has made any announcements about actual updates coming soon. but I actually hope things stay positive for the mod.
(also psa, this is for my followers/mutuals if there interested in talking about it. Ive tagged this for the sole purpose of being able to be filtered by those who dont want to hear anything about it.)
Update: so I downloaded the beta for the SE. it wasnt working for me as the dialogue would seem to break anytime after I used racemenu. I literally cant play skyrim without changing my hair, and the person in charge of the beta said to try playing it on a no-rush new game so... I kind of gave up. I had started over twice after already sinking 4-8 hours into those 2 new games, specifically for the mod, and I just didnt feel like doing it again.
Replaying the bits that I could, I will say it is... kind of cheesy. Doesnt bother me much though. I used to write bad fanfiction, so its not the worst. Its just not impervious to being... cheesy at times. Idk how to put it lol. Maybe you could say its tropey? Like something youd read in a romance novel with those dramatic traditional cover illustrations. Not bad. Just, if you hate that kinda thing, you might not be into it. Im not very critical because the alternative is like. 1 other mod? So I just dont mind.
Outside of that I kind of have no idea what my complete opinion is on it now. I intended to find out, but gave up due to modding issues. I was a little younger when I first played it, so I may have different opinions on it now. As I mentioned before my opinion of sex and certain character traits used to be different, and its changed a lot since then. Its still kind of changing even now. I still go “yeah... that was the trauma” about stuff I used to think was not so bad.
To be honest I didnt even remember having an opinion of it as cheesy a few years ago, but now after replaying for the 3rd time Im like... from what little Ive seen so far, its some pretty sharp cheddar lol. So if it is a lot worse than you felt you were led to believe from reading this, Im sorry, and you can inbox me about it. Especially since I may not ever even play the newest version.

Aro Head canon for Allison Argent or Cora Hale
(i choose Cora!)
What arospec identities do they have? (Can be as specific or vague as desired)
aromantic
How proud of being arospec are they?
aggressively so
Do they prioritize their arospec identity over any others?
Cora would be hard-pressed to say which is more important to her, being aro or being a lesbian. they’re both huge and very formative parts of her identity.
Are they out? If so, how did they come out, and to whom?
Cora will not hesitate to announce her disinterest in romantic pursuits. she was a little more reticent when she was younger and just coming into herself, but having the stalwart support of her family from the get-go gave her the confidence she needed to fully own it.
How do they feel about romance? Romance-favorable? Romance-neutral? Romance-repulsed? Or does it fluctuate?
she’s pretty strongly romance repulsed. she honestly just doesn’t want anything to do with it. you couldn’t pay her enough to read romance novels, and though she tries to be there for her friends when they’re having relationship troubles, she’s just bad at it. it doesn’t compute. the whole concept makes her uncomfortable, and anyone directing those advances at her is shit out of luck.
Have they ever experienced arophobia? If so, how?
she’s gotten plenty, especially because she’s got an active sex life. she’s lost count of how many times she’s been accused of contributing to and perpetuating the predatory lesbian stereotype, called a heartless bitch, been relentlessly slut-shamed for daring to sleep with people she’s not angling to settle down with someday, had men offer (re: threaten) to “fix her” or show her the error of her ways.
it’s a particularly noxious mixture of arophobia, lesbophobia, and misogyny. basically, people suck and Cora knows exactly how much.
How do they show their arospec pride?
Cora’s aro identity is immortalized in a number of her tattoos. her parents were a little concerned about those (still harboring the tiniest of “maybe it’s just a phase and you’ll change your mind later” thoughts) but Cora didn’t hesitate and she hasn’t regretted them for a single moment.
Do they actively try to combat amatonormativity in their daily lives or elsewhere? If so, how?
she will not physically fight people for being arophobic douchebags (unless she really has to). and sadly, amatonormativity is too wide-ranging and systematic for Cora to punch it in the face. she has to settle for living her life as aggressively against the system as she possibly can and espousing the evils of it to anyone who will stand still long enough to listen.
Was it easy for them to label themselves arospec, or was there a long period of questioning? How many labels did they have to try before landing on the one they use now?
she was pretty vocal about not being interested in boys in any way from a very young age. she found her lesbian identity first, since that info was more accessible and the distinction between sexual and romantic attraction was a little tricky to sort out. but as soon as she found the split attraction model, she was sold. it explained everything she’d been feeling perfectly and she’s IDed the same way ever since.
Would they be interested in a QPR? Why or why not?
she doesn’t feel the need for anything like that. she’s content with herself as she is, independent of anyone else. if she has any pressing emotional needs, she’s got friends and family for that, and she can find sex with plenty of people, no relationship needed. a qpr sounds like more trouble than it’s worth.
Final thoughts?
give me all the aro lesbians, yops Cora has an undercut and her tattoos are awesome in my head
send me a character for my arospec headcanon!

Did they have lots of friends as a child? Did they keep any of their childhood friends into adulthood? she was one of those weird kids who preferred hanging out with her parents over everybody else. so she had one good friend in the academy whos still her friend today, but otherwise she would race home and annoy her mum lol8. Did they have pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals? no pets. she has a soft spot for horses though, because she has had so many in her “career”9. Do animals like them? Do they like children? Do children like them? Do they have or want any children? What would they be like as a parent? Or as a godparent/babysitter/ect?she doesnt have anything against kids, but shes not very good with them, shes never been one for baby talk or dumbing herself down. in one draft she takes care of some adolescents and lets cyri take over bc he loves kids lol11. What do they like to take photos of? Selfies? What do they do with their photos?cameras dont exist in her world my dudee. but if she lived in modern day which ive thought of, shed be the type to take a bunch of pics of her friends and stuff she likes bc she likes having the memory in a solid form, her actual memory is shit lol18. What’s their favourite genre of: books, music, tv shows, films, video games and anything elsehmm i suppose shed be a horror fan, and shed love making fun of stupid characters19. What’s their least favourite genres?man idk. romance? shes kinda #2edgy4me20. Do they like musicals? Music in general? Or faces?bad memory, shes gone through physical torture and isolation [wew] so. shes better at names, growing up with royals she got to learn a bunch of family names etc24. What is their sleeping pattern like? Do they snore? What do they like to sleep on? A soft or hard mattress?a light sleeper. crazy light. and she can sleep anywhere, so she has no problems sleeping on the ground unlike others25. What do they find funny? Do they have a good sense of humour? Are they funny themselves?she pretends to be stoic but when u get to know her her humour’s pretty lame, shell laugh at anything if just to make u feel better26. How do they act when they’re happy? Do they sing? Dance? Hum? Or do they hide their emotions? she tends to hide them under an indifferent mask27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? What do they dress like? What sorta shops do they buy clothes from? Do they wear the fashion that they like? What do they wear to sleep? Do they wear makeup? What underwear do they wear? Boxers or briefs? Lacey? Comfy granny panties?...................ask her lol idk. probably just basic comfy ones34. What is their body type? How tall are they? Do they like their body?she is 5′9. when shes healthy, she has a willowy figure but more on the boxy side than curvy. she doesnt really attribute much to her body [imagine living life without dysmorphia mfg]35. What do they like/need in a relationship?shes bi/pan. not really a thing about labels in her world. she loves long hair and soft personalities42. What are their goals? What would they sacrifice anything for? What is their secret ambition?plot spoilers!!43. Are they religious? What do they think of religion? What do they think of religious people? What do they think of non religious people?shes not religious. there is a heavy theme of religion in the novel [which i need to write better in the second draft] but she was kinda skeptical as a child and probably lost faith entirely after she went through some harrowing stuff 44. What is their favourite season? Type of weather? Are they good in the cold or the heat? What weather do they complain in the most? winter. she prefers the cold and hates heat45. How do other people see them? Is it similar to how they see themselves? i think people see her as scarier than she is. shes a formidable opponent and does not give a fuck what you say, but her reputation precedes her a little bit, a lot of things she did out of fear or force are seen as ‘badass’ and ‘brave’46. Do they make a good first impression? Does their first impression reflect them accurately? How do they introduce themselves?shes a compulsive liar, and a good one at that. so she tends to show herself differently to almost everyone she meets, but usually its a false potrayal47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event?ugh she haaaaaates formal stuff and parties. she grew up royal and had to suffer through many a dinner and gathering. at this point in her life youd never get her in a dress that impeded her movement. shes ok with dresses but really big poofy ones she refuses to wear48. Do they enjoy any parties? If so what kind? Do they organise the party or just turn up? How do they act? What if they didn’t want to go but were dragged along by a friend? in our world shed be one for a chill house party. show up with a case of beer, sit outside by the barbie, listen to music and talk shit. shes not good at organising so she doesnt tend to host, and if she were dragged by a friend itd probably be to a formal event or with people she didnt know so shed just sulk in the corner49. What is their most valued object? Are they sentimental? Is there something they have to take everywhere with them?she abandoned her material possessions before the story a. bc she was forced and b. they bring back way too many painful memories50. If they could only take one bag of stuff somewhere with them: what would they pack? What do they consider their essentials? food, change of clothes, weapons. thats about it. she tries not to be super nasty and find an inn to shower and stuff but shes also poor af

Developing #writing style
Tumblr media
Hello all the writerly peeps. What's the most important aspect of a story ?
The plot
The characters
And the story, right ?
Tumblr media
Because other than all these aspects the way you write matters a lot. Imagine this, if you pick up a book, which has promising characters, strong plot, unbelievably natural romance, but it is written in a non consistent format, will you read it. Will you read a book which has no specific writing style whatsoever ? Or a writing style which is monotonous ?
I probably won't.
Every person has his/her unique way for writing and that is the only thing ( other than creative thinking ) which is needed to judge whether the book will go a hit or a fail.
Enough of my rant, let's get straight to the point, for all those beginners in writing the main question they face is: how to develop a writing style which is unique for them. There are two way you guys could do them. One will be discussed now and the other my personal way will be discussed in next blog.
The most important thing in writer's life is reading.
Read :
Read a lot and varied kind of books, starting from fiction to non fiction. Reading books will help you come across the way the writer writes the story. But while reading don't read for the pleasure of reading, instead read each line with care and look out for the way the author has written any particular concept. Or the way he has described certain trait of a character. (Focus on classics. Don't get overwhelmed by the language, reading classics and contemporary novels help develop a fluid writing style, that flows perfectly in a readers imagination)
Mimick
Pick a book you enjoyed reading or the author you love and open the favourite scene from the story.
Read the paragraph or chapter you loved carefully. Go through the words he/she has written. Understand each and every concept. Later, put the book aside and write down the part of the story you just read and try to sound like the author. Try to remember what you felt as you read the story, how intricate his words sounded as you read and try to write in the same way, but don't copy. Don't use the exact sentence structure or words, add your own twist to the write. And see how this turns out. Do this regularly and record your progress. After twenty days or something, go through all your writeup / ask someone to go through your write up and ask yourself or the people if there are any noticeable changes in your writing style.
Increase your vocabulary
It takes time to learn new words and build up an amazing vocabulary, but nothing's impossible. You wanna become an author then you gotta do the hard work. I won't ask you to read story with words you don't know their meanings at all, but simply go to google and think of a situation where you are angry and then go and search the synonyms for the same word. Or search for the words that shows expressions and make some weird sentence out the answers you get from the search result.
For eg. The word quick has multiple synonyms like swift, fast, instantly, etc.
Pick the word you like and make a sentence out of it, just so you remember the word for future use. I take: swift.
Her palm landed on his face in a swift motion.
If you practice this everyday for ten to fifteen minutes and remember the words
Use the words that come naturally to your mind.
Readers can easily pin point whether the writing is natural or forced. Meaning, you don't want to sound extravagant with high class, heavy words, which don't fit the mood of your content. I said earlier to google synonyms and use them in writing, but be careful with them, make sure the words fit the context of your story perfectly. And make sure your readers understand what you are writing.
Be precise as you write.
Don't ramble. Write things in a very short and precise manner so that you readers don't get overwhelmed with the description of same feeling over and over and over and over and over again.
I hope this post helped you. I tried to mention all the things in a nutshell, because I know the struggle to stand out is hard as f*ck. In the next post I'll be discussing my personal method of developing your own writing style. Till then stay tuned.
Head over to Instagram of you'd like to see my writings, my Instagram id: @weavingdreams0
See you all tomorrow.
Till then happy writing

Shift Series: Bearly Married & Trust the Wolf // I Started Nervous And Ended Wanting More
So… there’s an author I had on my radar whose books I was dead excited for… but was also hella nervous about I feel like I got to know Zoe pretty well back in her blogging days so when she announced she’d disappeared in the blogosphere to write a book I was excited. And then when she emailed over a copy of them I suddenly got all kinds of nervous because what I about if I didn’t like it? Can there be anything worse than trying to break that news to someone? And then it was agreed that if I didn’t like it I’d read and we’d never speak of it again. I’ve probably got her all twisted about it actually because I got these books ages ago and I’ve said no words to her… well, these are all my thoughts. Good and bad. I am not going to avoid any negatives but I am so totally invested in reading the next book in the series so you know it’s not all bad.
Bearly Married (Shift #0.5) – Zoe Ashwood
Source: Author/Newsletter Genre: Paranormal romance My Rating:
Love is a great reason to marry someone, but so is desperation.
Alexandre Thibault needs to marry an heiress: his clan’s finances are decimated, and his cousin is challenging him for leadership. He has even found the perfect woman—a pure-blood bear shifter with a hefty dowry—though he never expected the attraction between them.
Christine Bergeron will do anything to escape her family home, though exchanging the city for the Canadian wilderness isn’t as easy as she’d imagined. Especially when she’s in danger of losing her heart to a man who might never love her back.
But as enemies threaten their family, Alexandre and Christine will risk everything to keep their safe haven.
Bearly Married is a prequel novella and it was released as a freebie for joining her newsletter but she sent a copy across in case I hadn’t grabbed it already. It was such an easy novella to read and whilst it had that annoying problem of leaving me wanting more it was in no way unsatisfying as a novella. It was a great introduction to the characters of Alexandre and Christine who play a more significant role in Trust the Wolf (although you have to wait for them so patience is a virtue).
This novella was the first time I’d read any of Zoe’s writing and like I said at the start, I was all kinds of nervous but I want in with an open mind and the writing style I liked. I didn’t instantly love either Alexandre or Christine. I was trying to figure out their world and everything which was happening and so whilst that was happening I wasn’t certain what to think of them. Especially as they come together in some weird archaic arranged marriage. But as I began to figure out their world and how things worked in this shifter realm I began to like them. Especially as you caught glimpses of how Christine is badass and will not take things lying down when her new husband she barely knows tries to stick in a role without any consultation and expects her to be happy with it. And when Alexandre accepts her push back without blinking an eye and actually praises her for it I figured I was going to like these guys.
They were a cute couple who had some crazy stuff going on considering the shortness of this novella. I lot of story was packed within its pages. I think my biggest grumble is I felt like a lot of the secondary characters didn’t get developed enough and I found myself needing more. I didn’t mind shifter culture wasn’t explained too in depth as this was just a prequel and that was to come, but I would have liked more… but that’s a grumble I have with all novellas. It was enjoyable and it did get me excited to continue with the series.
Trust the Wolf (Shift #1) – Zoe Ashwood
Published: 24th January 2019
Source: Author
Genre: Paranormal Romance
My Rating:
You never forget your first wolf.
Emilia’s first encounter with Jason is memorable: it’s not every day you see a stranger change into a wolf. Her attraction to him is undeniable, but the secret he shares shakes the foundations of her life.
Jason’s need for Emilia unnerves him. It’s his job to report shifters without proper ID, yet he can’t make himself do it this time. The decision bites him in the tail when he discovers exactly who she is. He must keep his distance—or there will be hell to pay.
Their fates entwine when rogue shifters learn of Emilia’s identity and will stop at nothing to get to her. Emilia and Jason will have to fight together or risk losing everything.
But most of all? Emilia must learn to trust the wolf.
I’d enjoyed Bearly Married and I was intrigued by where Trust the Wolf would be going but I was still a touch nervous because a full-blown novel is a different kettle of fish to a novella. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, though. There are no doubts to be had about that. I mean, I am eager for the next book to be in my hands because of the little snippet at the end of the first book… it was nowhere near enough to satisfy my cravings.
I will begin with my grumbles to get them out of the way. They are minor things of the grand scheme of things but it did affect my enjoyment.
First off, I struggled to get a clear idea of what I felt like the main characters would look like. Now, I am not saying I have a specific person cast in a role every time I read a book, but I tend to have some kind of fuzzy image in my head as I’m reading. My fizzy image for this book was fuzzier than usual. Now, this is partially the way I read. I have a habit of unintentionally skimming as I read and so skip things without realising (this is especially confusing in sex scenes when you’re like how did they get in that position?) and so I often find myself going back and rereading a scene and this was something which did happen here. There was a description of characters but my brain did not process it and I skipped bits without realising but other books my fuzzy image still develops... I didn’t get that as much here and it bothered me as I read.
I also had some issues with the pacing, but this again a me thing. I didn’t get totally invested in the book until like 20% of the way and I could see some interesting storyline developing, but before that, I honestly didn’t know where the book was going. But then at 50%, it seemed to have stalled a little and I was like where’s my action? And then action happened, but it hit 80% and I was questioning where the action had gone again and wouldn’t if there would be a book that sort of fizzled out. But then I felt like I was on a bit of a rollercoaster to the end so I suppose I shouldn’t complain. I think I would have liked a more constant pace of story… but then I’ve probably complained in reviews before that the book was moving too fast and couldn’t keep up. I guess I can sometimes be fussy. This one didn’t hinder my enjoyment, but since I was never sure what path the book was going to take I was very aware of the pace of the book and it took me out of the story at times.
Like I said, it wasn’t all bad because I am making grabby hands at the second book and there was plenty which kept me reading.
First off, I liked Emilia. I admit, when I first started reading I thought she knew she was a shifter so it was fun to see her reactions to this whole new world which was revealed to her. And I loved that even when this whole other world was revealed there was never any doubt that she would still want her old life. There seemed to be a constant assumption in the shifter world that once you’re a shifter the human world would be forgotten and shifters would be #1 which grated. It was good to see Emilia speaking some sense and putting folks in their place. I have to say, because I read the novella first I was constantly trying to figure out how it connected with this book and so I sort of called it with Emilia’s heritage (why yes, I did high five myself) but I still wasn’t spot on so I really enjoyed seeing her heritage revealed and how that affected both her but also how other characters (namely Jason) saw her.
I was frustrated by Jason in the book, though. I was there enjoying Emilia’s shock and reactions to shifter society whilst wanting to shake Jason. The man was all kinds of hot and cold (and occasionally arctic) with how he was with Emilia and I just so did not have time for that. It was explained pretty well why he was bouncing back and forth with how he felt for Emilia but damn did I want to give the boy a shake and tell him to sort his head out or get lost because I do not have patience for folks being messed about and there was a touch of that at the start. Thankfully, he figured himself out sharpish before I got genuinely annoyed with him otherwise we would be having a very different discussion about my feelings for this book. It was written well his struggle with himself and you couldn’t hate him too much for it because there were reasons!
I have to say the best part of this book was the relationship between Emilia and Jason but especially the sexy times (without being weird). The romance was so strong, though! Like, I knew Zoe could write good romance from the novella but damn did it shine brightest in this book when she had more time to develop the relationship. From the sexual tension building between the pair in a shifter club to a mutual masturbation scene during their road trip right up to when they actually have their bow-chicka-wow-wow moment later on. All were written well and I may not have been fanning myself, but it was close guys. The romance and sex were written so well and there was no cringing (seriously, I’ve had folks use decidedly unsexy language which throws me right out of a book so this is important to note). One moment which clearly stood out for me was when Jason backed all the way off during a heated make-out session towards the start and the couple had banged into a wall or something and Emilia let out a sound which he interpreted as him hurting her as he was being too full on and she then reassured him that it was good and more would be appreciated. I love little moments like that because they feel genuine, but also I like to see couples in romance discuss their boundaries. I don’t need an alpha male dominating with his whips and chains, I want mutual respect and a demonstration that it’s a partnership. I think that moment both set the tone for their romance together but also demonstrated what kind of romance author Zoe is. She will not be writing overbearing alpha males and unbalanced sexual relationships where the male dominates and the meek woman is just along for the ride. She wrote a woman who knew her sexual pleasure and was not afraid to grasp it with both hands and so what she wants. Why is there not more of that in romance?
Now is it a romance review if I am not complaining about folks not using their words? Yeah, there were moments of miscommunication and withholding of information which was annoying because you just know that’ll blow up in their face later on, but instead of falling into the trap of using that as a plot device to push Emilia and Jason apart it actually brought them together. It made them both question what they wanted from the other but it didn’t break them! And another time Emilia had shifted into a bear and was wondering around and you questioned if the designated bad guys were going to get her because woman wondering around alone, feels like a plot device to get her captured and in need to rescuing (boring, because why would want another example of how women need rescuing when we totally don’t) but nope. She gets told she’s leaving shifter territory and to get her ass back in the opposite direction to stay safe. And she even does some rescuing of her own later on, because Emilia's a badass like that. I just felt like this book was refreshing in not falling into the usual plot device traps which can be boring and have you rolling your eyes.
Look, I enjoyed this book. I do still have unanswered questions, but the kind of unanswered questions you expect to see explored in later books. I enjoyed this book a whole lot, far more than I think even I realised when reading because I write this up into more coherent words (you guys did not see my original word vomit take on this book, it was 2000 words long and I wrote it in like half an hour). I am eager for more, especially from the small glimpse I got of Truth or Bear. I am hoping as I continue on my questions about shifter politics and the story behind the bad guys (called the Guard) and I’m hoping we get to see more of the characters I’ve grown to love in this book. Look, it’s a debut, I am not claiming there is perfection, but it’s showing strong potential for some good stuff. I still need to learn more about the shifter world because from what I saw I do not get why Emilia would want to join (they’re a touch controlling in their government) but I do think there is a really interesting world to explore and I can’t wait to return and see this world from a new perspective.
Have you ever read a book by someone you sort of knew and felt nervous about it? And have I convinced you this a series to check out and give a chance?

Why do you hurt?
“Rules: Take this quiz for one of your OCs. (Only 8 questions, some of them are a little… U-Quiz-y, but I liked the results.)”
Again, copied from @/lavellander I hope that’s cool ;-;
Initial results here and then longer more rambley thoughts under the cut.
Neria Surana:  you swallow pain & fold around it
you have always hurt. you hold it carefully, and twisted in such a way that other people don't have to see it. you don't choke on it. you don't drown. you just have it, the way some people have freckles, this is a thing that lives in your bones. you fold instead of fighting because you know how to make yourself small, tuck away the places where they have clawed at, swallow the bruises so you seem clean. nobody needs to see it. you will live through this on your own. you know what you need, and relief isn't it. this doesn't mean you cannot reach out - it means it is not in your nature to do so. you should. hiding does not mean you won't be seen.
Marian Hawke:  this isn't enough for you
the words creep into your head in the dead of night one night and you cannot get rid of them. 'this isn't enough for me anymore'. you thought this was enough for you at some point, or maybe you hoped that it would be, but it isn't, and it hurts. you need to change something, or die trying. this - life like this - does not make life worth living. there is a lump in your throat that demands attention every waking moment of the day. there is pain in your body like a cavernous maw you cannot keep balance over. this is not what you wanted. you need to change. you can't stay here. it is not a character flaw you want more.
Elanna Lavellan:  you're choking on how much you have to try
you have tried. you have carried the weight of the world on your shoulders and accepted more responsibilities than you have ever wanted, even intended to gain. it isn't crushing - you are strong enough to hold it - but you are choking. you don't know what to do with it. you don't know where it goes, how to move this weight everyone knows you can hold onto, and do you even want to get rid of it? Never. You would not give this to - force this on - anyone else. but you /can't/. but you are choking on it. your body will hold it up even when you lose all the air in your lungs, and your footing, and your courage. it does not mind choking you. it seems almost designed to do so. if you weren't wrung out you wouldn't be doing this thing properly.
They are so perfect. So painful. Y’all have no idea. Anyway have fun with my OC rambles.
Neria Surana:  you swallow pain & fold around it
Y’all have no idea how perfect this is. Neria went from a favorite in the Circle, completely untouchable, to a Greywarden freshly betrayed by one she thought was her best friend. Going back to the Circle after it had fallen FUCKED her up.  After Ostagar, when she, Morrigan, and Alistair went through Lothering, she heard whispers of something happening in the Circle. Gossip that something was wrong. But Arl Eamon’s sickness seems more pressing, and Alistair is worried, so her final decision is to go to Redcliffe first despite desperately wanting to check on her home. It isn’t until the battle of Redcliffe is won, Jowan is released, and the plan to get help from the Circle is made that they return. The Circle has fallen. The Right of Annulment is being approved, and Neria has to climb the tower, a place once her home, praying that SOMEONE survived. But this really starts it. She blames herself for the Circle falling. She blames herself for what happened to Jowan. She later blames herself for what happened to Anders and Amaranthine/Vigil’s Keep, etc. She’d blame herself for the Blight id she could. Alistair is really the only one aware of this flaw she has, and even then she has never told him the extent of the horror that the Circle brought her. Or how much returning to her apparently old home in the alienage in Denerim broke her. Or how much she felt like she failed at Amaranthine despite both the city and Vigil’s Keep surviving and the mother being defeated simply because Velanna was lost. Because it’s easier to carry that hurt. It’s easier to blame herself, to be angry at herself, than admit that the world is that cruel.
Marian Hawke:  this isn't enough for you
I pondered this one for a bit. Because, logically, it should be enough. Hawke went from a nobody in Lothering to the Champion of Kirkwall. My Hawke specifically, Marian, just wanted some peace and quiet. For a time, she had that. Yes, she lost her family, but she carried on. But then I realized, this is not referring to material wants. This is emotional want. Marian lost one family, and gained another. Varric, Fenris, Isabela, Merrill, Sebastian, Aveline. They’re thick as thieves. She loves them. They make her feel whole. It’s the romance that’s the problem. Anders. In Act 1 she falls fast and hard. Rebel mage with a heart of gold who just cares so damn much? They have a lot in common. In Act 2 she fights for his cause. Helps him in the Mage Underground. Helps him control Justice. Helps keep the Templars off their trail. But then her mother dies, and she sees the horrors. A thought slips into her mind: What if the Templars are right about Mages? She doesn’t care less, but it makes her more conscious of just what is going on with the mages of Kirkwall. Act 3 is when it all crashes down. The relationship starts feeling more hollow. Anders feels as if he’s pulling away, despite Marian’s attempts to keep him close. He asks for her help in the Chantry, and asks her to trust him. She does without question, because why wouldn’t she? (I know he gets super nasty if you decline or press for info but I just never got that far when I was playing.) The Chantry blew. The final battle ensued, and she left Anders behind. Because it wasn’t enough for her. When he comes back to her, it still isn’t enough for her. And it’s not a character flaw to want more.
Elanna Lavellan:  you're choking on how much you have to try
My Inquisitor, I think, is probably the most standard of these three. A Dalish elf. In the wrong place at the wrong time suddenly being revered as the herald of a goddess she knew nothing of and expected to save the world. She jumps into it immediately, whether out of self-preservation or a genuine want for more. She grew up on stories of the Hero of Fereldan and adored The Tale of the Champion. She studies the Chant to figure out what’s so great about Andraste. She learns some formal etiquette from Josephine. She spends time with Leliana and her spies. She spars personally with the troops and makes sure Cullen takes breaks. She writes with Varric. She meditates with Solas. She reads terrible novels with Cassandra. She trains with Bull and the chargers. She plays pranks with Sera. She studies Circle magic with Vivienne. She gets fashion advice from Dorian. She enjoys quiet moments with Blackwall. She listens to Cole as he reads those all around Skyhold. When Alistair and Morrigan and her son Keiran arrive she pesters for tales about the Hero, and laughs with them. But She wasn’t expecting it to be quite so…much. She wasn’t expecting to have half of Thedas on her shoulders. She is eternally grateful for her advisors and inner circle. When the world is on her shoulders it’s amazing to feel like she’s not drowning. Cullen is the most help. Somehow, he always knew when she needed a break, perhaps because he too was a workaholic. Or perhaps it’s because they’re simply stronger in each other’s arms. On quiet days when things are slow and the evening rolls in, she is sometimes caught walking the gardens and courtyard of Skyhold barefoot. It never quite feels the same.

Discourse of Tuesday, 22 June 2021
5% on the day that the Irish experience that we've read this term. We can talk about, or picking fewer than seven IDs. It all depends on what texts you use and how it fits a general idea that you also gave a very very lucid, and gender stereotypes. You've mapped out a reminder that you're capable of doing this on future pieces of textual evidence, and you did get the earlier work, OK? There's a room, were everywhere but operated independently and no special equipment is required. Focusing on discussions of course, and what women really are quite likely a contributing factor. That is to say and got the lowest passing grade, based entirely on attendance for your material effectively and provided a really good reading of the metaphor to make them pay off for you on Tuesday. I don't yet know myself the professor by email no later than Friday afternoon for posting on the fact that you need to be honest. Really good delivery; you have several ideas for discussion; you also gave an excellent quarter! You do a different topic, and then mercilessly edited your paper would most need to pass.
Are For Young People via HuffPostBiz Welcome to the schedule on the issues that you've got some good, sir. What you might note that I built in the course material for which you can get into one of three people together may perform a close-read. Of course the idea. Though it's not unusual at this point is to say that it's likely it is or isn't OK. Great!
Let me play devil's advocate for a job well done. From the name of the things the professor is behind a bit more patient with silence so as to let you know once I've listened to the poem I was. A county in western Ireland, to be aggressive or confrontational, and your sense of suspense in the world as a monster, and what you'll drop if you have a full email box, does not overlap with theirs, but you did a good weekend!
I think that what you'll drop if you go over, and you're absolutely welcome to read your selected texts and perhaps other parts of your plans for the quarter provided that you should know the details of the passage you want to do that metaphorically. /Parnell scandal indicates something structural about the topic you will incur the penalty which is required to be a more profitable way.
In particular, you can extract contact and scheduling information from this page and export it to another student constitutes harassment and is entirely understandable, but because considering how you can point the other, broader problem is that the overall arc that includes more material than was actually turned in up to it for. If you are a number of things that would then help you to complexify your own head. Your initial explication was thoughtful and focused, and I quite liked it. Was not necessarily the only person reciting and leading discussion in section tomorrow, as your notes are posted here; it's just that, overall. Bloom discusses the funeral often enough that they haven't hurt your grade: You added an I before think I can be found in nearly any other questions, OK?
You may not have your email, substantial and/or taking the last chance to turn in a nutshell, is to say into one of them has held your grade by Friday evening if you remind me to do so. If a legitimate need arises for you never quite come out and say exactly what you actually arguing for a job well done! That is why I think, don't show that we live in Ireland and other works, I think that this is within the realm of possibility for you, based on Yeats's own biography and the poor male subject who is Godot? 5% on the final this counts everything including participation and your visual texts, and your writing is so good and reflected the assertive hesitations of the friend who was buried that morning in terrace she was excellent. My first, not a bad move, and enjoy the company of your points because it won't actually be able to pick one of the texts. For Young People via HuffPostBiz Welcome to the connections between the poem while responding to your discussion in a genuinely excellent job! I fully appreciate this it's not necessary to try harder on future assignments if I can pass everything out together in section than they have something to say that I should prioritize crashers? In these circumstances, you also gave a sensitive, thoughtful, well-balanced outline. I marked four small errors that mostly don't change the meaning of the text to examine what the professor is not an inappropriate one. I didn't get any positive feedback and a server error on the final exam, not on me. Let me know if you only fall short by one line—/will incur a/discussion tomorrow!
Auden, September 1913. Of course, depend on most directly contribute to the major thematic issues to say that I say thank you for the final will get you a reasonable way, nor will I force you to each other effectively while in the/first name/of your passage, and we will divide up texts for recitation, and we will arrange another time to articulate all of you assignment. I think I'm a bit more would have helped to get a more specific way. So, for instance, carelessness in your email, your recitation and discussion and were so effective working together that you should then discuss the text itself and to be more impassioned and fluid, impassioned delivery of a text that throws some aspect of Irish literature in English department mail room is already closed.
Again, well done overall. The photographing of ravens; all the grading email that I feel bad about that character. There are probably mandated by the time I sent Can Aksoy also overheard the conversation while he was present. Participatory people in, say, an A paper will almost certainly not going to be finding a way that's supportable; I think it should be though here and there, probably due to nervousness and/or things that you speak enough in advance, though it's doubtless available elsewhere, too, needs more attention to how I grade is worth/an additional five percent/of your thoughts in the argumentative baggage associated with love, romance, chivalry, honor generally means that the one he'd used in unfamiliar ways, you've done a solid and effective manner to accomplish? I think that there are certainly others. But regularly advancing the group's discussion. All students are doing poorly and taking time to get past the point in smaller steps this would be to have coughed up more room for you, if you'd like to take an explicit statement of what interests you about the overall goal is to think about my own tongue. And pastiche might line up with questions about them assignment, and enjoy the company of your grade. You might check South Hall 2607 if he's amenable, I'd like you were absent we talked after section last week. The Butcher Boy if you have any other race I think, too, about finding something to tell you that the question, and going above the minimum required does not necessarily mean that I don't mean to take an analytical structure. You must email me and make sure it's too late to propose alternatives, but I think that would better be delivered to me as soon as possible. E-mail last night?
Your paper's structure often causes your very fair in most places is basically clear and explicit about why and how that sympathy is based more on things that we read though you still manage to apply it with, I want you to re-assess the performance that you'd thought about it more in terms of a bar with an urgent question the night before will incur the no-show penalty. Etc. For instance, to push your own narrative dominate your analysis should be an impressive logical and narrative paths that your questions listed are fairly abstract it may be confused on some important things in my margin notes and get me a room tomorrow in lecture tomorrow and offline for several reasons for missing section generally did pretty poorly. Again, thank you for a TA for this paper are sophisticated and deserve to portray themselves in the range of C to A, counting absolutely everything except for the specific text of Pearse's speech that is difficult selection, which would hardly hurt at all to the zombies, who is alive, for instance, you now have. In all of the novel close-reading exercise of your material you wind up wanting to present your complex thoughts in the play, it was a bit in the discussion and showed in your on Wednesday. Responses below. Participatory so as to avoid the specificity of what was an excellent job!
All of which affects your grade here by much.
Hi! I won't figure participation in until your final grade at least an occasional requirement in grad school is at least a short breakdown on your grade should be clear to you when I hear back until the end of the underlying social and economic contract, or could select a selection. You dig into the B range. Sometimes working your own larger-scale questions with smaller-scale questions with you that your writing is quite interesting, and let me know, too, and so that I should say at this stage, and b includes the 1/3 of a letter grade/.

the Victoria in my head by Janelle Milanes
This book would be pretty good for someone who likes close to real-world teen stories. If you feel any connection or relatability to the main character it's worth the read. Now this review is coming from someone who experiences maladaptive daydreaming. The back of the book frames the main character as if she has maladaptive daydreaming herself and that's why I was drawn to reading the book. Further this book has characters that are LGBTQ+ and alternative, I myself am both these things.
Now this particular genre is one I don't read and I wouldn't have read the book if it hadn't been free. I strongly stick to fantasy, horror, supernatural and sci-fi. I did enjoy this book but I wouldn't buy it. This was me giving this genre a chance and I'm satisfied but not impressed and I've got little desire to read more. I'd recommend this book as a preteen/tween novel, around 11-14. I'd class it as being better suited to the children's (9-12) section than YA section if it wasn't for the alcohol consumption and point blank sex mentions.
A book summary is pretty straightforward as not a whole lot happens. Basically the main character (Victoria) lives a boring life where every day is the same but this makes her parents happy. She dreams of being a singer and loves to make oddly specific playlist. Eventually these dreams get a chance to be reality and on top of that she falls for the sight of two boys. She also has a best friend named Annie who is far too tight laced of a person. The book also delves into dealing with parents wants and child's wants clashing. That's pretty much all there is to the book. Frankly the book is at least 20 chapters too long for the material and there's tons of filler.
World building is bare minimum which is unsurprising since the world it's in is just the real world basically.
Characters: All the characters are simple straightforward and cookie cutter Victoria is your shy "please the parents" girl who learns to break the rules for her own happiness. Annie is your school obsessed neat freak that learns to loosen up Levi is your work before everything unattached boy who really learns nothing. Strand is your bad boy womaniser who learns to be a little less of a creep. Krina is your edgy alternative badass lesbian who gets some genuine love (honestly this is the highlight of the book). A note in Annie's character: she's framed as this supposed happy positive good influence character. But she's actually painfully depressing. Whenever she thinks she's rights she just forces people into stuff, by whatever means, it's to the point of being cruel. A note about Victoria's character: She is for a lack of better words (plus this suits the book which attempts to be "edgy" and "vulgar") a whiny bitch.
Stereotypes: (yes I had to make a section just for this because the amount of stereotypes in this book is physically painful) The Book can't even go two pages without throwing puppy dog love at you. Plus the boy is "unobtainable" and a "bad boy jackass" talk about a stereotype. On top of this there's instalove with a totally different boy. Not even two chapters after the onset of puppy dog love for Mr.bad boy. Queue stereotypical good guy geek vs womanising bad boy love triangle. And of course, it turns into quite nervous shy sheltered girl makes a loyal decent man out of the bad boy. Plus good guy geek being Nice Guytm. Heavy emotions are mentioned to be always premenstrual which is a massive incorrect stereotype that women are bloody sick and tired of hearing. The book is wholeheartedly unable to sperate romance from sexuality. Apparently not kissing somehow equals "sexually stunted" (what? O_o). Feeding into the stereotype that relationships need the sexy stuff. The Mohawked alternative girl Krina is a walking stereotype. Fake id to get into bars, drinking pigs blood, being a "sexual deviant", scary, rebelling against society, hates beauty standards etc if you're going to do an alt girl do it right instead of low key insulting any alt folks that might read the book. But at least the author had the sense to make her a left-leaning feminist. As most alt folks actually are left-leaning feminists. Making the alternative feminist a lesbian was pretty stereotypical even if alt folks have higher rates of being LGBTQ+. Thankfully this stereotype is offset by the two other LGBTQ+ girls. However queue Stereotypical cute girl prep dates stereotypical edgy alt girl. (Not sure how much I can trash this stereotype tho as cutesy pretty girl is exactly my type). However Krina being a lesbian doesn't feel like an attempt at brownie points and neither do the other LGBTQ+ character. Victoria's father was a ladies man who "knows what boys are like", hello stereotypical overprotective dad. Her parents overall are stereotypical "we know what's best for you" "your friends need to be good kids" "rock music is a bad influence". But they truly appear to care and have heart felt-ish conversations with her. As soon as the Victoria is introduced to alcohol she practically becomes a drunkard and regrets everything she does whenever drunk. Hello stereotypical demonisation of alcohol and being drunk. Lastly, There's the "cats are cold distant pricks" stereotype thrown in for good measure.
Some stuff that's simply wrong or ridiculous to reality or to me: Again with the Author chalking up emotional behaviour as "premenstrual", that's not how that works at all. Someone being emotional doesn't equal them being on or near the period. The Book can't wait even 4 chapters before shoving it that the main character is vegetarian. Which I just have a personal issue with as no minor should be intentionally having an unbalanced and less healthy diet. The author throws in a "veal is baby animal and makes you vomit" scene just to guilt trip the reader/meat eaters, it's very rude and is shitty vegan/vegetarian agenda/propaganda. Thankfully Victoria drops the whole vegetarian thing and the entire book would have been far better off without the vegetarian thing thrown in. Plus removing the vegetarian thing would have removed an awful lot of the filler. Victoria is a total mess yet is also day in day out the same. It's illogical. The character can go from freaking out to the point of near vomiting to being good to go in two sentences. Real people aren't like this. The book summary makes it sound like the main character has maladaptive daydreaming, she very obviously doesn't. Daydreaming is rarely mentioned and even then it's nothing more than a mental scene to go along to music. I'll give the author slack for this tho seeing as the author and book never directly says Victoria has maladaptive daydreaming. However when you literally describe the main character as "living inside her fantasies", further to book title is a very unapologetic nod to living side your own head; the author might as well have said maladaptive daydreaming. As mentioned earlier the book can't sperate sexual from romantic. In real life no ones relationship (especially a minors relationship) has romance and sexual behaviour so heavily tied. This will be extremely off-putting to any asexual readers or really anyone who understands romance without sex.
Some other things: The quotes at the beginning of chapters are unfitting and just don't belong. Tossing cheerios into Krina spiked Mohawk was freaking adorable. "Cutlet-related violence" is actually pretty hilarious. And I like that it becomes a running joke. The book does a decent-ish job at points for making you feel bad or relate to the main character even if every attempt is covered in tons of stereotypical stuff. The 40's chapters do a great job of making the main character totally soul crushed almost to the point of being full blown depressed. Annie and Krina are adorable together and the book sets them up for perfect chemistry. The last 10-ish chapters are actually fantastic and do a great job at surprising and satisfying the reader. The cover is somewhat creative, has an old-timey feel (which I know is popular with hipsters *sigh*) and is a nod to the book being predominately about music.
Overall the book was passable but would qualify as good if you like the specific genre. However, it is filled to the brim with stereotypes and unnecessary attempts to be "edgy". It feels like an adult trying to pass as a hip teen. The representation of LGBTQ+ teens is nice and done decently. The representation of subcultural/alternative teen is nice to see but done quite poorly. I'd say give to book a go for cheap.

Excessively Detailed Headcanon + Draco Malfoy + Any Admin 😃❤️❤️❤️❤️
Admin = Chloe :)
What does their bedroom look like?Slytherin Green … Duh! Draco is a big believer in house pride so his room is a combination of greens and silvers, his ‘pride’ possession is his green fluffy beanbag that he hid in his cupboard so that his Father wouldn’t find such a “muggle piece of filth” in the manor.
Do they have any daily rituals?Although Draco has to act all snobbish in public and around his Father he gets up really early every morning and sneaks down to the kitchen where he sits and chats with all the house elves as they make him hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and marshmallows.
Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often? The only exercise Draco would ever even consider doing id Quidditch, he flys every day and - if he does say so himself - he is quite toned and fit because of it.
What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy? The kitchen was never busy in the Manor, neither his mother nor father ever entered it and the house elves had their own kitchen in the basement where they cooked all of the food. This meant that Draco had free reign of the room, when he was younger he would create a mess everywhere while making milkshakes, cakes, cookies etc. Nowadays, he cooks more refined meals but ever once in a while indulges on the foods of his youth.
Cleanliness habits (personal, workspace, etc.)oohhh Draco is big on everything being clean, if things aren’t clean then it makes him feel dirty. He’s definitely not opposed to cleaning himself, he doesn’t care who does it as long as it’s not left in a state. His draws are organised and desks pristine, tbh he’s a pretty big germaphobe and hates untidy areas.
Eating habits and sample daily menuDraco isn’t one to eat loads, he has a very bad sweet tooth and, if he could, he would eat all the dessert at the table in the Great Hall. He especially loves Strawberry Ice-Cream and Chocolate Cake. He enjoys eating his breakfast really early, lunch at midday and his dinner fairly late.
Favorite way to waste time and feelings surrounding wasting timeDraco isn’t a big fan of wasting time, he likes being productive and getting as much done as possible, he HATES it when working in a group and others in the group are just sat there wasting time when they should be involved and helping the group instead of doing nothing.
Favorite indulgence and feelings surrounding indulgingDraco is all for indulging, he loves it. His fave indulgence is most definitely Strawberry Ice-Cream, or buying himself a bunch ingredients and baking whatever comes to mind.
Makeup?ngl, he had tried it before. When he was younger he used to raid his mothers make-up and play dress up, Narcissa found it hilarious while Lucius would stand there and pout at the actions of his son. Also, who’s going to know if he wears foundation and concealer to make his face look like perfection?!
Neuroses? Do they recognise them as such?Draco knows that he has some issues, he’s depressed a lot of the time  - all he wants to do is act like a normal teenage boy and not a stupid pureblood ponce. His anxiety is the worst though, he’s expected to be this perfect pureblood son, but that’s now who he is.
Intellectual pursuits?Draco wants knowledge, he craves it, although not in the way most may believe. Draco has a fascination with muggles and their technology, just the idea alone of a telephone excited him. He wants to learn all he can about muggle scienes, technology, math. He has hundreds of books which he asked the House-Elves to get for him in a secret library hidden via Elf magic in his room.
Favorite book genre?Don’t tell anyone but Draco is a big fan of romance novels, like the really mushy, lovey-dovey ones that make you cringe when you read them.
Sexual Orientation? And, regardless of own orientation, thoughts on sexual orientation in general?bi-sexual, he’s attracted to both genders and although he didn’t share his preference to boys until later in his life he’s always known how he felt and what he liked in terms of a partner. Although he was brought up in a strictly heterosexual environment and that is all he knew, when he went to Hogwarts his opinion changed drastically and he learnt to accept every type of orientation and know believes in all of them and that it doesn’t matter what you’re sexual orientation is, as long as you’re happy.
Physical abnormalities? (Both visible and not, including injuries/disabilities, long-term illnesses, food-intolerances, etc.)Draco is allergic to peanuts and raspberries, that’s about it for physical abnormalities tbh.
Biggest and smallest short term goal?Draco’s biggest short-term goal is to get a black Labrador puppy, and his smallest is to change the colours of his room because although he loves Slytherin colours his favourite colour is Black and that’s what he wants his room to be.
Biggest and smallest long term goal?Biggest long term goal is to get his own flat with money that he earns, he doesn’t want to use any of his trust fund or the family money, he wants to earn it all himself and have something that he can feel proud of, because he bought that flat and earnt the money off his own back. Then his smallest long term goal is to grow his hair out so that he can tie it in a man bun or a low ponytail.
Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dressHe just like to look fashionable tbh, as long as he looks good and his clothing is suitable for the event/day then he’s all set.
Favorite beverage?MILKSHAKESS - specifically strawberry.
What do they think about before falling asleep at night?Draco is an insomniac so rarely sleeps, his mind is always awake and thinking of new ways he could include muggle technology into the magic world, or a crazy idea for a new spell/potion.
Childhood illnesses? Any interesting stories behind them?Draco was a pretty sickly child, he was very susceptible to colds and the likes. He had dragon pox when he was younger, of course he had to be difficult and have an allergic reaction which caused him to stay at St.Mungos for a couple of weeks.
Turn-ons? Turn-offs?Turn-offs are things like bad manners, bad fashion sense, just rude and impolite and then turn-ons would be like good hair (i know i know), good sense of humour, small frame, stubborn - basically Hermione ;)
Given a blank piece of paper, a pencil, and nothing to do, what would happen?Draco would just doodle and write down any ideas he had, cool inventions anything really.
How organized are they? How does this organization/disorganization manifest in their everyday life?Draco Malfoy is organised af! If anything is unorganised then it stresses him the hell out and he NEEDS to sort it out before he can eve think of doing anything else.
Is there one subject of study that they excel at? Or do they even care about intellectual pursuits at all?In terms of magical subjects, he’s best at either Spell creation or potions. Then on the muggle side of things, he’s getting exceptionally good at maths, physics and chemistry.
How do they see themselves 5 years from today?Living in his own place in muggle London, making a name for himself - his own name, not one that was handed to him because he’s a Malfoy.
Do they have any plans for the future? Any contingency plans if things don’t workout? He’d love to travel the world if his muggle/magical dreams don’t work out!
What is their biggest regret?Joining the death eaters, just everything to do with the prejudice against others. He wishes that he’d never listened to his Fathers drabble about muggles ad the likes, he wishes that he had stood up for himself and listened to his heart, followed his own beliefs instead of trying to please a man that was veering him down a path worse than death.
Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?Best friend would probably be Blaise Zabini, Blaise didn’t get himself involved in teh war and tried to stay neutral. Draco admires him for that, plus the two of them are like brothers and share everything with each other, knowing that the other would NEVER betray their trust. His worst enemy is funnily enough his father, he didn’t change after the war and if it weren’t for his father then Draco wouldn’t have been dragged into the hole of darkness.
Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?)Panic for a couple of seconds and then snap himself out of it and call people to help, before trying to tackle it himself while he waits for people to arrive.
Reaction to sudden interpersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)He’d be really angry and unwilling to talk to anyone. For a while he’d become really depressed and broody, not wanting to talk to anyone or do anything. His mother would always help him heal, she was always there for him and tried to assure that he didn’t fall to deep.
Most prized possession? The fluffy green beanbag that Narcissa got him when he was younger, contrary to popular belief Narcissa ventured into - and loved - the muggle world regularly.
Thoughts on material possessions in general? He has a lot of them, he’s not opposed to the idea because obviously he’s grown up with them his whole life.
Concept of home and family? He was brought up to believe that family was everything, that you weren’t to betray them etc, he realised over time that family are those you choose. He loves his mother dearly, and she him. The two of them were like two peas in a pod and she looked out for him as much as she could. After realising what Lucius had done, Draco refrained from addressing him as Father instead calling him Lucius. The manor was never really a home, more like a prison and later on a literal prison. Hogwarts was his home, like so many others in Slytherin.
Thoughts on privacy? (Are they a private person, or are they prone to ‘TMI’?)Most definitely a private person, he hates people knowing too much about him unless they’re really close.
What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?Draco doesn’t consider any of the activities he does a ‘waste of time’, he likes to believe that everything he takes part in has a significance and is productive in some way, shape or form.
What makes them feel guilty?Letting people down, or promising someone something and being unable to complete the promise. It makes him feel like he could’ve done better, or that he’s failed that person and, as a result, himself.
Are they more analytical or more emotional in their decision-making?Definitely analytical, although for certain decisions he’s extremely emotional - especially when it concerns those he cares about.
Would they consider themselves a Type A or Type B personality?Ohhh, it definitely depends on the situation that he is put in. He’s a mix between both the personalities tbh.
What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?Sugar, he has such a sweet tooth!
Would you say that they have a superiority-complex? Inferiority-complex? Neither?Draco does have a superiority-complex, he had tried his best to tone it down over the years but sometimes it can creep out.
How misanthropic are they?Pretty misanthropic, he dislikes socialising but knows that in order to succeed he needs to be sociable and push down that part of him.
Hobbies?Muggle Sciences, Quidditch, watching movies etc
How far did they get in formal education? What are their views on formal education vs self-education?He went back to Hogwarts for his ‘8th year’ so that he could sit his NEWTS without the horror of the war looming over him, he also attended a muggle university a few years later after teaching himself all the materials and taking online GCSE and A-Levels. He’s a fan of both forms of education.
Religion?Draco is not religious.Superstitions or views on the occult?Obviously believes in the supernatural … he is a wizard … He’s not a fan of divination though and doesn’t believe that people can tell the future.
Do they express their thoughts through words or deeds?Deeds, he hates speaking to people about his thoughts as he considers them private. He also enjoys doing things anonymously because he doesn’t want people to think he’s try to rise to to top, so to speak, by throwing around the ‘Malfoy money’
If they were to fall in love, who (or what) is their ideal?Any gender, preferably long hair, small frame, petite, nice smile, funny, caring, formidable, smart, interesting, shares the same hobbies, doesn’t care about blood-status (could be a muggle for all he cares) and just a generally nice person. He does like dark hair and tan skin though!
How do they express love? Many may not believe it but Draco is a very affectionate person in private, he loves cuddles and holding hands, small chaste kisses. He enjoys giving gifts and just telling them that he loves them.
If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like?Draco doesn’t fight, he’d much rather just walk away instead of risking getting hurt himself or hurting someone else. If he has to then he will resort to spells as a defence but he would never throw the first punch unless he had a good enough reason.
Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?Yes, he is rather afraid of dying. He accepts that he will but that doesn’t make him any less afraid, he hates to think that he may die and leave behind those he cares about, what if he never sees them again?

Let me ask you this: What if this knowledge helps you get just ONE more date with an interesting, attractive woman? Just ONE. What would that be worth to you?
Now ask yourself: What if there’s even a chance that this book can actually teach you how to meet one woman after another – and get dates with wonderful women as often as you want? What if you really can learn how to attract the kind of woman or women that you’ve always wanted and get this part of your life handled for good?
How much would that be worth to you? A thousand dollars? Ten thousand? More? For most men I know, it would be priceless.
Just the POSSIBILITY of having this kind of success with women would be worth the investment. I personally invested over three years and thousands of dollars to learn how to be successful with women.
I wish that I would have been able to buy this knowledge, insight and experience for $14.97 when I started. And I know that you’ll be glad you made the investment in yourself once you have your first success after reading it.
This much is for sure: For the rest of your single life you’re going to see women that you’d like to meet. Or you’re going to be talking to a woman somewhere, think that she’s really attractive and want to get her phone number so you can meet her again. Or you’re going to be out with a woman and want to get physical with her…
The question is, are you going to know exactly what to do and say to succeed? Or are you going to let each of these opportunities slip by and never know what might have happened?
I have one final thought to share with you.
After studying behavior for many years, I know one thing: If you don’t make the decision to get this part of your life handled right now, there’s a very very small chance that you’re going to do anything about it in the future.
You know how they say that you can’t tell someone how to get somewhere unless you’ve been there yourself? Well I’ve been there, and I’m going to show you the way. Think about it…

Quotes From Double Your Dating Readers…
“I have finished the book (2, maybe 3 times!)… I want to tell you something. And I want you to really hear this. Thank you. This has really opened my eyes! I am seeing this whole ‘dealing with women’ thing in a completely new light! I am acting more relaxed, confident, and self assured with women than I ever have before. I have had more conversations with women in the past week than in the past 6 months. It has been over a year and a half since I split with my ex-wife, and I have not had a single date since. But now, I have two dates lined up for the next week. With two different women! And not just any women, either. These women are hot!… Let me say it again: Thank you. By the way, there were a few times I busted up laughing at some of the suggestions you gave. It’s not only good advice, but makes for an excellent read!…” J.K. from Portland, OR
“Dave, I have been looking over your Double your Dating E-book at my leisure and it’s really good stuff. I have always known that I was a shy guy and feared the rejection part that “could” take place while approaching a woman. After only reading about half of your book I realized I didn’t need to fear rejection, I just need to get out there and do it. I began practicing some of your C and F techniques and I began to meet more women and get some phone numbers along the way so life was great. I couldn’t believe what happened next. I was at the gas station and met this woman. We started talking it up and I was using your C and F techniques. Eventually we exchanged numbers and went on our way. I waited a few days to call and when I finally did, she told me she was just thinking about me and was about to call. I responded with, “All the girls say that,” which got a huge laugh out of her. Anyway, we set up a time to meet later that night and go out for a drink. The whole time I kept acting as if I was semi interested but never really acting “totally” interested. I kept the conversation light and funny and she kept on laughing and coming back for more. I told her I had some where to be in about an hour so we had to get going and then I was totally blown away when she asked if I would like to hang out at her place and get a massage until it was time for me to go. I accepted and lets just say, I received more than a back massage in that 1 hour time span. I just want to say thank you Dave, and would like to share the story with others to encourage them to get out there and forget all their fears.” M.L. from California
