People always say be the good you want to see in the world so here I am
Shouting out youtube channels that I love with my whole heart who I think deserve even more attention
First up, QuinBoBIn [https://www.youtube.com/c/QuinBoBin]. My absolute beloved. I’ve been around since he still called us smelly in the outros and I haven’t missed a single upload since. 10 minute semi frequent gaming uploads that are full of laughs. 10/10. Currently he is playing through most of the Zelda games but if you aren’t interested in those there is a good backlog of lots of other content.
Next up, KapeaCreations [https://www.youtube.com/c/KaypeaCreations]. If you want beautiful art ranging from stunning art dolls to warm your heart art dolls, Kapea is the place to be. Also, the reminders every video to start on a project you’ve been thinking about has actually gotten me to do  things, super impressive. Immaculate vibes and good times await all those who enter. 10/10
Dagnel [https://www.youtube.com/c/Dagnel]. Animal Crossing challenges. Fun commentary. Short and long videos. The craziest ideas that I would never imagine or go through with in a million years. Excellent
Sophie from Mars [https://www.youtube.com/c/SophiefromMars]. Really thoughtful commentary videos on a variety of subjects. My favorites are the ones about video game politics but there is a lot more there to see. Media critiques are one of my favorite genres on youtube and she does it so so well.
_toad14 [https://www.youtube.com/c/toad1414]. Hilarious technoblade animatics. I love technoblade, i love animation, i love toad.
Shonalika [https://www.youtube.com/c/Shonalik]. Their content is really awesome. I could say so much on how their videos have helped me but that would take too long. Please go watch
Alt Knots [https://www.youtube.com/c/AltKnots]. Goth knitting. Motivates me to work on and finish projects. Epic and badass, enough said.
There are so many more I could talk about and maybe I will eventually but here is just a short list of youtubers I love! Feel free to add your favs too <3

My shout-out to queer youtubers
Hbombs list was great but obviously not comprehensive. I watch a lot of video essayists and wanted to give a little love to the smaller channels that fall under the radar. Please feel free to add to this list!
let's talk about stuff/Sarah Zedig
If you've seen Jesse Gender's videos on the Matrix movies you may already be familiar with Sarah. She does excellent film and culture analysis with a lot of great conversations on paratext and outside influence in engaging with text. Her video on Tunic is one of my favorites.
youtube
Pamphleteer
No one makes videos like hers, which has the side effect making them a bit hard to describe. I will link one of my favorites which describes the disconnected temporality of being older when you discover you're queer.
youtube
Turbo Queer
Really really under watched channel. Skylar covers a lot of topics from video games, to anarchist history and modern events, to autistic life, to current politics. For a fun one check out her video on the SpongeBob strike episode.
youtube
Kaz Rowe
Kaz does a fantastic job examining modern myths and manufactured history primarily pertaining to western Europe, Victorian & Edwardian England, and 1800-1900s US. And of course, talking about historical queerness in all its ambiguities and evolutions. I highly recommend their video on Weimar Germany.
youtube
drapetomania
drapetomania interrogates the politics of low class and high class art and entertainment from a queer and Black perspective. Their art history videos alone cover many angles of white supremacist history I haven't seen anyone else discuss and I'm very excited to see more from them. They are also a very under viewed channel that more people should see!
youtube
I am error
Evelynn's channel primarily discusses video games in a presentation style and voice most similar to Action Button reviews. There's something just a bit more personal here though. I hesitate to say cozy since that word has a bit of an infantilizing connotation, maybe comforting is closer. She puts an immense amount of thought and empathy into the experience of playing video games and the personal narratives we build with them.
youtube
Swolesome
For more transmasc perspectives there's Swolesome. He has a lot of interesting insights into the more traditionally masculine and "broish" communities like fitness as well as commentary on recent trans issues.
youtube
Shonalika
Music, disability, and aggressively non-binary. Their video on gender presentation in heavy metal was really insightful. I would also check out the video "Why I Wear Gloves" for more insight on invisible disabilities.
youtube
Vivian Strange
Vivian delights in being a bit of a contrarian- something I really appreciate. She's probably going to challenge you and you're probably going to disagree at times, which is what makes her channel so important. Her video on Marquis De Sade is powerful and a must watch (if you can stomach the subject material, although I would encourage you to try). I haven't seen her most recent video on Saw yet but I am extremely excited to.

YES YES YES FINALLY, SOMEONE WHO MADE A VIDEO ABOUT MY EXACT THOUGHTS ON GOOD OMENS AND MORE, I agree with EVERY POINT (except I really liked Nina and Maggies characters although I agree they’re a bit 2-dimensional) I really recommend this video by Shonalika on YouTube!!!!!

There's no one form of commitment / Each situation's different / As the people in our lives / Some things just cannot be defined / So let's go by what we want / Instead of what we're told we're meant to
thought i’d share a really underrated queercore band rec! powderpaint - made up of two trans artists who make awesome retro disco / dancepop music! shonalika, one half of the band, also makes banger youtube video essays which you should definitely check out!
-
another great and most recent song by them! a satire about transphobic fearmongering

Ok so I've never noticed this before but with that last vid... Idk if it's the accent, the cadence or what, I have a hard time telling these things apart. But your voice super reminds me of that of Shonalika, one of my favourite YouTubers (and also awesome musical artist) and because I'm also an autistic non-native english speaker and know how much echolalia can influence one's accent and general way of speaking, I have to ask: Have you ever watched them? Perhaps while getting fluent in english? If not, you should check them out tbh, they're great!
Can't say I've ever heard of them before but they seem pretty cool! My way of speaking is kind of just a messy combination of a speech impediment and the fact that English isn't my first language

*sigh*
This is my second time typing this bc tumblr is a bitch. Therefore, no pretty bullet points or fonts, I'm just gonna use dashes, then copy paste from my notes app.
Anyway, YOU ASKED FOR SONG RECS, HERE ARE SOME!
I tried to not go too mainstream so you'd get plenty of new stuff. Many of these artists have plenty of other good songs too so if you particularly like one, check their other stuff!
Be aware some of these are violent and/or sexual as well as containing other potentially upsetting material, lmk if you need individual content warnings
- Belladonna Melodrama by Charming Disaster
- Constellation by Powderpaint
- Sex With A Ghost by Teddy Hyde
- The Woods by Sam Fermin
- The Fine Print by The Stupendium
- Sometimes by Nick Lutsko
- Farewell Wanderlust by The Amazing Devil
- Hell's Coming With Me by Poor Man's Poison
- The Haunted Phonograph by ThouShaltNot
- I/Me/Myself by Will Wood
- Love You Like An Alcoholic by The Taxpayers
- Scavenger by Shonalika (one of the members of Powderpaint from the second rec but i love them ok)
- Animal by Olivia Olson
- Falling Apart by Kim Boekbinder
- The Dismemberment Song by Blue Kid
- Rule #4 - Fish In A Birdcage by Fish In A Birdcage (from the album Fish In A Birdcage lmao)
- Fire Drills by Dessa
- Achilles Come Down by Gang Of Youths
- Six Feet by Mike's Dead
- Beautiful by Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble Of Shadows
- Baby by Bishop Briggs
- Who I Am by Dope Saint Jude
- Fire With Fire by AlicebanD
- broken by lovelytheband
- Hello My Old Heart by Oh The Hellos
- Take All The Time You Need by Oh Honey
- Battle Cry by Shayfer James
- Dear Fellow Traveller by Sea Wolf
- Ship In A Bottle by Steffan Argus (I think)
- Dirty Night Clowns by Chris Garneau
- iT by Christine And The Queens
- This Is Love by Air Traffic Controller
and finally, and I think this is the most mainstream one but I feel like they're not as well known anymore as they used to be
- Brass Goggles by Steam Powered Giraffe (i prefer the 2009 version)
Bonus (if you speak German and/or don't mind music you don't understand): Antifascista by ZSK
I swear my music taste is usually more varied (and upbeat lmao) but I've been having The Depression
Hope you like a few of them!
I FORGOT ABOUT THIS IN MY DRAFTS OOPS FDKJHGHG
i didn’t end up listening to all of them, i fell out of the wanting to listen to new music mood, maybe some other time i’ll finish them all but here’s what i listened to so far:
gonna categorize these songs cause its a lot kjfshjg, i will add my comments if i have any about songs in particular 👍
already in my library:
sex with a ghost, i/me/myself, achilles come down
i haven’t listened to sex with a ghost in FOREVERRR, i/me/myself and achilles come down are in a previous main playlist but i got kinda tired of them and i’m on a new main playlist at the moment. i did relisten to them just for the sake of it. i might add them back to my main playlist :)
couldn’t listen all the way through:
animal
sorry i wanted to finish the whole thing but it really just isn’t my thing… its not bad just not for me
not my thing:
i love you like an alcoholic, animal
i have kind of mixed feelings about love you like an alcoholic tbh.
it’s okay:
broken, the woods, beautiful
the woods feels like that one vflower song to me, boccalla de verita? whatever its called, where it took me a while to get used to and now i actually really like it. i feel like i’ll probably like it eventually
beautiful is nice but its so long and i can tell i’ll get bored of it really quickly. its a bit boring for me tbh. its nice though i might listen to it occasionally :)
kinda catchy:
falling apart, belladonna melodrama, fire drills, constellations, the fine print, baby
ok i really like this:
dear fellow traveler, dirty night clowns, take all the time you need, haunted phonograph, battle cry, iT, rule 4 - fish in a birdcage,
downloading immediately:
antifascista, hello my old heart, hell’s coming with me
i never mind songs in other languages even if i don’t understand them!! as you can probably guess i have a ton of japanese (usually vocaloid) songs, and i had some other german song in my playlist at one point but i think i removed it from there and i can’t remember the name 💔
anyway antifascista FUCKS i like this a lot going into my main playlist immediately it’s loud and they yell and its a good pace i fucking love it

Bade Aache Lagte Hai 3 | Episode 5 | Heartbreak and Honeymoon
Tumblr media
Priya is crying her heart out in Ram's guest bathroom. Ram is outside the bathroom thinking hisJaan is in. He is godsend at this point in time saying things which would make one believe in the love even for the one who have just experienced excuriating heartbreak. There was a beautiful moment when they both place their one hand on the bathroom door and Ram could sense her energy. She is after all yin to his yang. Ida to his pingala.
'Hoti rahengi mulaakaatein tumse, nigahon se dur ho dil se nahi' - Wazid Shaikh
Tumblr media
Heartbreak sucks. Every cell of your body claims the part it's missing making you feel alive and lifeless at the same time. Focusing on your breath and reminding yourself that thoughts or emotions come and go all the time. You can change your thoughts and emotions just like you created them. Emotions are stubborn of the two of them though. They like to take their own time. Ice cream and chocolates help too :)
It will passes though. Until then you have to feel what you are feeling head on. Let it know you are not scared of it. It is scared of you too. Let it test you, consume you, drain you. And it will release its cruel grip slowly but surely. Real changes take time.
Let the love which was always yours breathe life into you, love. Sure the person might have triggered it but it was always yours to begin with. Love conquers all.
I love how Priya's family is by her side in this. I consider her mum capable of displaying her sense of vanity even in sensitive moments like this. But was pleasantly surprised when she didn't. Her father was her rock as always.
Jaan informed the guard she was going to a 5 star hotel and to tell Ram he will get the bill. Drama runs in the family. Ram was pissed learning Jaan had to take an auto. All 8 cars of the house were not available courtesy house occupants other than owner and one closest to the owner. Shardul had to call the cab for Ram. At a signal, a person selling bouquets on streets requests Ram to buy one. The one that Ram bought was handed over to Priya by the florist per Ram's request to give it to someone who requires it. Helping her second time unknowingly to get through this difficult day.
Ram found Jaan eating vada pav in an eatery from their struggle days. They were laughing, eating, reminiscing, singing in no time like nothing happened. They pull each other's leg by addressing each other as King and Queen Kapoor. Super sweet. About the song, it was Zindagi ki yahi reet hai. Classic. And was revealed in this conversation that Jaan is diabetic.
Cut to next scene where Ram is WFH which Jaan refers to as WWF. Cute. Ram is testing a feature to deliver food within 10 mins to their customers. Testing is happening in 2 cities Bangalore and Mumbai. Love these small details the writer's adds. Bangalore is the center of high-tech industry in India. Any new feature has to be rolled out there first. It makes sense. Bangalore has a special permanent place in my heart.
There was a sweet conversation between Shonalika, aka Sona by Ram, where she asks him to promise her he won't give Akhil a job in his office should her father request him the same. It's because her brother hires based on the candidate's capabilities and she didn't want him to break rules for her, explains the sister sweetly when questioned by her even more sweet brother. Shona has a foreign accent.
Ram has not met Akhil just yet.
The honeymoon period is on the full swing for Alika who is preparing spineless Yuvraj for the upcoming father's visit. Ew. Ram was surprised with this piece of information but wishes him the best.
It's June now of the same new year Ram and her Priya met. Priya was not shown during the time lapse then symbolizing there was nothing worth mentioning in Priya's life during that period. She just cried her heart out and just about existed.
It's raining outside symbolizing the season change/new beginnings. Both Ram and Priya are watching it.
Kriti takes a rain check on Ram and her plan. Red flag. Considering this alone in isolation is not but putting it in context with everything else is. She is the emotionally unavailable one in this relationship. But there is not a single authentic conversation of how it's making them drift apart. And both are at fault for this.
Priya still loves rain. It puts a big smile on my face. She promises herself no more shedding tears for that spineless Yuvraj. Attagirl.
