after six years of the game being out and after three and a half years of me actually playing the game i have finally beat botw. did u know finishing video games is. fun,,

#hey its not as bad as norn9 where im only a third in after six years. and rhythm thief took me a genuine decade #im very good at taking my time #MY IMPRESSIONS its a good game :) i think i had a little over 100 hours by the end. one thing about the final boss fight though - #it made me kinda miss like true classic zelda scripted boss fights LOL but lots of fun! #some of the dlc stuff i couldnt do like the champions ballad and the sword thing RIP had to look up the cutscenes later~ #theyre tough! but also my playstyle has always been a bit of. just run and go for it #planning and stealth is not my strong suit. by the end i was running directly up to guardians and just killing them before they killed me #i can eat kebabs faster than they can shoot lasers. i am unstoppable #the soundtrack was nice! subdued obvs since its open world #but the standout tracks are really standout. of course i love rito village night ver being dragon roost island #and the hyrule castle theme turning into zeldas lullaby in the internal parts hit me #and of course the main theme is iconic. i like the version with the hard break in the middle the most i love that cut so much #i know people edited it out and in the live version its not as harsh because its live #but i LOVE IT i love it so much. mix of synthetic breaks with a fantastical and traditional sounding theme. awesome #that whole 3 and a half years before i got a copy of the game (i wanted to beat skyward sword first) i didnt look up like anything #didnt pay attention to anything people were saying. heard something about it being open world. heard some speedruns were like an hour #and i heard the theme. and i listened to that theme on repeat for all those years. so so good #now i will probably do that for totk- not knowing anything about it for three years until i finally play it LOL thats how it is so far #people have told me about it. but truthfully i wasnt really listening. sowwy. i was focused on botw orz #but i wanna play something different now. take a break. also wait until i can find someone selling totk used for under 70 cad KJDLJFKDSJDKS #i am NOT paying nearly a hundo for a videoed game nintendo you cant make me #maybe now i should finish all the other games in my backlog. or i could start 5 new ones. hmmmmmmmm

You know, one of my most favorite yet underrated moments in early manga YGO is during that monster fighter chapter, after Yuugi lost to the cheating spider guy and got his fighter stolen.

Like, he comes in, having been punched in the stomach during the match and later punched again after losing, and finds his friends waiting in class. Obvs Jou and Honda are like “woah dude what happened to you?!?!” but instead of explaining or anything, he just looks up and gives Jounouchi The Look.

Like, just look at him. Look at that face. The shing and Jou's face. This boy knows he’s got a mou hitori no boku waiting for him, and he knows said mou hitori no boku can kick ass. And unlike before in Death-T, where he was afraid of him, Yuugi’s basically giving him the green light and a simple message: hello, please wreck that guy to hell and back for me. And yes, penalty games are allowed.

It’s just my absolute fav because it clearly shows that Yuugi isn’t as meek or soft-hearted as some might think of him as: he’s willing to fight for what he thinks is right, with whatever means are available. And of course, considering he’s got a way to fight for once, (Unlike ie Ushio, where he was physically too weak) then he’s gonna take it!

and well, come on. The idea of Yuugi just lookin Yami/Atem in the eye and going “You know what to do” is hilarious. Baby Panda’s got a gun and he wants you to shoot it right between the hunter’s eyes

(EDIT: I also forgot to mention that I loved this because it's the first time, the most obvious time at least, that Yuugi actively takes arms against someone after they've hurt him. Before, it was Yami who used the gun and shot it. But this time, Yuugi's giving him the ammo.)

(Also bonus reason why I love this chapter: manga-wise, we get to see the full bondage-outfit for the first time, in the most dramatic way possible. Case in point:)

Mycroft Holmes (Yuukoku no Moriarty)

My first impression: ahaha this just reminded me that my first impression (I watched the anime first) was a very unenthused "oh goodie, a Black Butler joke 😑" (and that was before the dub!)

My impression now: sexy sexy dork. Incredibly powerful man who exudes big dick energy is also Every Oldest Child Ever, thrilled to shoot his little brother with toy guns and show him up at every opportunity. Secretly incredibly sentimental. Sends his boyfriend notes via carrier pigeon even though it is entirely within his authority to just visit him. A hero amongst introverts who built an entire club on the premise of silent parallel play for adults. In short, an icon.

Favorite thing about that character: tips into borderline headcanon I suppose, but I think he's immensely protective of people he cares about, and it's sweet. Also his fussing over his hair is adorable.

Least favorite thing: I don't know if it really counts because I enjoy roasting him for it so much that it seems weird to say I don't like it when it's fun for me, but "dislikes stupid people and likes black coffee" is the most cringe Reddit bro nonsense ever.

Favorite line/scene: I like the parallel [paraphrasing, too lazy to find exact quotes] where he says to Albert in chapter four "you have my attention, what do you want?" (intrigued, possibly flirtatious) vs in chapter 23, "you have my attention, what do you want?" (resigned, a little bit sad).

Favorite interaction that character has with another: anything with Albert, obvs, but also the bit when Sherlock comes back is very Important and I'm glad it's there. Also that little part where he says he's been protecting Sherlock from their family's secrets and sort of smiles conspiratorially at William.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more: Louis, actually. I want to know to what degree they became friends during the timeskip and possibly leaned on each other in their own reserved and quiet ways in the midst of their grief.

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character: hrrrrrm. I feel like there's something obvious that's refusing to come to mind, probably because I'm trying too hard to avoid the fact that the anime wants me to associate him with Sebastian. That did lead me down a J Michael Tatum path to thinking that if anything he maybe reminds me a little of an older Kyouya from OHSHC lmao. Anyway I'll add an edit when the obvious thing I'm forgetting come back to me. 😅

A headcanon about that character: all the dom stuff mainly pfft. Also that he was closer to his father, while Sherlock was a mama's boy.

A song that reminds of that character: all my songs for him are just songs I associate with Mycal, and mostly in a more kind of "Albert POV," but here's one that I have in my Mycal playlist that I think of as more Mycroft POV

An unpopular opinion about that character: eeh. I think I'm pretty in line with the majority of the fandom on him.

Hi, you would have more knowledge in this bc I’ve seen people say the color changes in LO are a result of the books being printed in CMYK and Rachel is trying to avoid the misprint colors in later editions, but that can’t be right, right? that feels like giving her more credit that she’s actually due. Bc the books are now post the colors changing to the current neon and they still look bad in print. Is there any actual reason for the colors getting this way, or is it really just laziness?

potential bonus question: what art tips would you give to achieve that early LO look, with the texture and lights and all that? Love Lore Rekindled btw <3

Honestly, I really don't think it has to do with the books. I think some of it does have to do with the TV show deal (like they're trying to give it a cleaner 'animated' look) but when it comes to the books, most of its issues is less of the color expression and more just the composition of panels. I mean, it's kind of a given considering how big of a pain in the ass it is to turn a vertical webtoon into a print book (which is why it's kind of bitter irony now that Webtoons is turning back on their whole "phone format is the future" mantra from way back when when they realized they weren't making any money off that LOL) but man you can tell they're struggling to just make the books work.

When it comes to the actual oversaturation of colors over the course of the series, I feel like it comes down to several other things that aren't related to the books:

1.) Rachel's stated in interviews that she got criticism (pointless criticism from non-fans I'll add) about how the colors were 'too bright' back in LO, so she went "nah make them BRIGHTER" as a way to get back at those critics. Which is just absurd because it's resulted in her shooting herself in the foot with uglier art that's turning off even the fans.

2.) She and her assistants aren't unified across software. Some panels are drawn in Clip Studio, some are drawn in Procreate, some in Photoshop, it's a mess. And the real kicker is that all of these software have different color bitrates so some of them literally don't have as many colors as others (ex. Clip Studio is able to express about 16 million different colors, vs. Photoshop which can express up to 281 trillion, which is obv WAY better for print, but meanwhile Rachel can be seen working in both Procreate and Clip Studio).

3.) Rachel doesn't have her assistants using a shared color palette. They're literally just eyedropping colors. You may as well be playing a game of telephone at that point, where the original message gets more and more twisted as its passed down the line, but in this case, it's with colors (which is especially problematic when you're eyedropping panels that haver texture overlays which will automatically distort the colors, AND when you're using multiple different software which come with different color bitrates). That one definitely falls under laziness IMO.

All of this is VERY silly to me btw because Rachel started off with Photoshop, like I'm fairly certain most of her work prior to LO was done with Photoshop. Clip Studio is the generally recommended software for people making webcomics as it comes with way more support for them (such as panel rulers and speech bubble pens) but it doesn't have the same color expression that Photoshop does which I feel would be way more beneficial for LO, it's not like it's working with the same color palettes that most traditional webtoons using CSP are using.

But a lot of it is also Rachel just shooting herself in the foot by not maintaining any sort of consistency between herself and her teammates. Which is even MORE absurd because Clip Studio LITERALLY comes with teamwork support, I use it with Banshriek on Rekindled where we can literally share files, with the addition of a Google Drive folder we can both access that has files for color palettes, references, model sheets, etc. and with none of the incompatibility issues of working between two different software because we both use CSP and know how to use it.

To answer your bonus question as simply as I can, the biggest thing I've found with trying to replicate that old LO style is just... not caring, if that makes sense LOL like I've recreated multiple of Rachel's old panels just for the sake of research and I've learned that she REALLY didn't know what she was doing back then, there's NEVER been consistency in LO but back in S1 it was obvious she actually still cared. So when it comes to recreating that style, it's sort of difficult to pin it down to any one "method" because she really has none, she just treats every panel as its own individual painting (esp back in S1).

So get loose, don't be too strict on yourself (like I am, sigh) and mess around with gouache brushes, they're definitely her go-to. Prioritize lineart in places where shadows would cast (such as under the neck, limb bends, etc.) and then in post-production, slap a canvas texture on top.

I can definitely give a more in-depth tutorial at some point, but again, it's REALLY difficult to perfectly mimic her 'style' because it relied on her winging it every time without any real standardization LOL Which makes it tricky because I'm someone who REALLY relies on that standardization, so even I still look at Rekindled art and go "yeah, it's nice, but it's not LO" because I'm following too many 'rules'. People seem to like it anyways tho, so I'm not gonna go feeling bad over it LOL

my day is about to end. we finished our shoot around 9pm. im already home, and im now just resting before going to our bed. before going home, though, for dinner, i had beef and wanton noodles, which i put chilis on, and then i paired that with milo dinosaur. hihi. obvs, today is a day filled with good food!!! ✋️🤤

also, today, i learned that this week will be another busy week for me because not only will we be covering four establishments on thursday, but also, we will be having a shoot on saturday as well. nkklk, but izzokie. i hv tomorrow reserved for writing, staying home with moosey and the furbebis, and doing wtvr i wanna do aka rest aka fold clothes and maybe edit photos and vids that i will be posting. lol.

SWEET FUCK MY FIRST DRAFT IS FINISHED. all hail the gods of writing and executive function for letting me get through this. i have some editing to do, obvs, and would very much love a beta or two to give it a look. specs:

x-files meets buffy the vampire slayer (but mostly x-files). casefile-ish with plenty of angst. teen+ rating for more violence than they ever put on either show, though not by much. not one but two major character deaths (they get better). currently standing at 25,600 words but that may change with editing (probably longer since i can't shut up about these freaks [affectionate]). set sometime in xf season 7 and btvs season 5 because time doesn't matter.

so because baron zemo’s been a source of serotonin for me lately as I’ve been trying to work on my fic which makes his snubbing in the current thunderbolts announcement suck all that much more, I thought I’d shoot some outfit photos with my zemo muse doll 💜

I introduced him over on my fandom blog @nbraraeaves when I first got him a while ago - as I think I mentioned in the plush guide I reblogged the other day, I got him from Meizai on etsy a couple years ago a while after I first started from sokovia with love. the coat and shirt he’s wearing are part of the outfit she custom-designed for him! the pants are some generic suit trousers I swapped in, and the boots are actually from a Loki cotton doll I ordered on ebay years ago without really knowing what it was (thus making him my first doll in this style).

anyway, onto this slapdash fashion show that I put together while no one came to my drop-in hour for work lmao 😂

1. I try to have a “casual” outfit for my plushies that travel with me a lot back and forth to my family’s place in TX, and Zemo is one that usually comes with just bc I never know when I’m going to get bit by the from sokovia bug again. I bought him this hoodie bc it’s purple, albeit a different shade from his main color, but I also just really wanted to see him in something cute and silly. (excuse my crooked bow, I’m still working on my technique)

Just modeling the hood up, with a different angle for the embroidered details one might miss on his enormous noble head.

2. I have a puffy pirate shirt that I bought specifically to give my different plushies their macfayden Mr. Darcy moment (minus water obvs), and on Zemo I always think of him being cajoled into posing for a traditional portrait by his parents, maybe when he’s still working his way up through the ranks of EKO Scorpion:

So I've smoked heroin and I use fentynal also blues and other opiates but I've fully already made up my mind about wanting to start shooting up heroin also. I understand the risks and all that and it's been hard to find anyone willing to kinda give me tips on what to expect and how to cook it and safety tips while slamming it. Do you have any advice and any methods or tips you'd recommend (other then not slamming it ) please

sure, i have no desire to talk anyone out of slamming bc i'd be a hypocrite anyway. your mind's made up, may as well do it safely. this is gonna be long btw, i have a lot of advice & harm reduction is something i'm passionate about. sorry if this is a bit late btw. i don’t check tumblr mega often. but i reckon it will help someone even if you found advice elsewhere. 

list of things you need to bang up: gear (obv lol), sterile needles (you can get completes or detachables), sterile spoons, alcohol swabs, filters or cotton, citric acid/vit c if you’re using european/no.3 heroin (& i think black tar, however it would be best to ask someone who uses that), clean water (cold tap water is fine. they say boiled & cooled is the best but i just use clean cold tap water. bottled water is less good), a lighter (to cook), paper towel (to press on the wound after injecting), a plaster (to cover the wound). 

here are some extra things that i use: milligram scales (so i can ensure a safe dosage every time), magazine (to use as a clean surface), hand sanitiser (washing your hands is best but you may be unable to do that), clean scissors (to cut the filter, don’t rip them), a mini portable heater (heat brings out your veins), another glass of water (to drink to bring out your veins. i drink out of a pink cup & use a blue cap to bang up with, so i don’t confuse them), a pack of sweets (sometimes you need to eat sugar to get a hit lol).

just a disclaimer: i’m english so i get european/no.3 heroin. this differs to american ecp/no.4 in that you have to cook it with citric acid/vit c. here are my step by step instructions to banging up: get clean water in both cups, weigh out my portion of heroin in a sterile spoon, unwrap a sterile needle, use that to get 3 units of water from the cup, pour into the spoon. then i add the vit c & cook it until it’s mostly dissolved with some brown bits floating on top (those brown bits are the cuts. the gear normally looks like piss lol). if you’re using ecp you won’t need to cook it. you will with tar though (edit: not necessarily actually, see the comments on this post). then get a filter, cut it widthways or don’t at all. i dunk mine in water to preserve as much gear as possible (otherwise it just eats it). drop it in the spoon, then use a needle to suck it up through the top. 

then you’re ready to bang up. i sit in front of a heater & drink the pink cup water to make my veins pop out. you can find a vein by pressing lightly on your skin. they feel kinda springy. since you’re a new user, you’ll probably be able to see some. don’t slap it, that can make it retract. i use my nails as a marker to know where to inject (like stabbing myself with my nail either side of the vein). you’re supposed to insert the needle at ~30 degree angle. you probably won’t know what that looks like, i don’t, but i have this trick for finding it. position the needle at a 90 degree angle perpendicular to your vein. then halve it by moving the needle down. now you have a 45 degree angle. now you need to take a 3rd off & then you’ll have ~30 degree angle. this doesn’t always work but it’s certainly very helpful. 

insert the needle FACING TOWARDS the heart. this is always the case unless you’re banging up in your neck or something, which i highly do not advise. for your arms, legs etc, the needle should be facing upward. i have never banged up in my shoulders etc & i wouldn’t. your arms will be fine for now. you want to learn how to hold the needle with one hand & become ambidextrous with it. i might include a pic after this with me holding it. i basically pinch my thumb & ring fingers together around the syringe. i use my index & middle fingers to hold the plunger & pull back then my index finger to press down. i use my little finger to stabilise the syringe. 

when i’m injecting in my feet/legs etc, i still only use 1 hand. i have seen people use both...i have no idea why. it just gets messy. you want to be an anchor. you want to insert the needle slowly & then after injecting, pull it out extremely slowly at exactly the same angle you inserted it. otherwise you will bruise. i use my right hand to inject in my feet & my left hand to pull the skin to stabilise the vein. then after i inject anywhere, i immediately grab paper towel & press down hard on the wound for multiple minutes. then i cover it with a plaster. 

i’m not sure if you’re female like me, but it can be hard to get a vein. women naturally have more fat & different types of fat than men. my arms are pretty thin but i still have fat in certain areas & it means the veins can roll. i often get around this by pressing my arms into my legs to hold them in place. some areas (like the backs of your arms) are extremely difficult to get & i don’t recommend them at first (i still struggle after 5 years of daily banging up). if you have a friend or partner that uses, you can ask them to hold the skin in place. don’t let them bang up for you though...their technique could be dangerous or harmful. & also, if you always let them do it & you get addicted, they might be out & you won’t be able to get well. you should learn to do it yourself in a safe way if you’re gonna do it. 

avoiding arteries: once again, this can depend on body type. they say the arteries are much deeper, but i can see them on my skin. they can really catch you out. i’m not gonna tell you about different types/colours of blood bc it can vary by person & by vein/artery. however what i notice about arteries is the blood shoots up the side of the needle extremely fast. if you try injecting, you’ll feel a bit of pressure. this is telling you to stop. if you still continue, you’ll most likely feel an awful electric saw style pain. it is like a shock to the system. if you feel this, immediately take the needle out & press down with paper towel on the site. it should be fine, but if it doesn’t stop bleeding, seek medical attention. HOWEVER not all arteries are painful. i have made this mistake. 2 of mine on each forearm are not. this just means no matter where you are, inject slowly. you will feel the gear. if you do not, you’ll see the site start to blister. hopefully this can save you a trip to a&e. 

missing: sometimes you’ll slip out of a vein & you’ll miss. you’ll feel pain, it’ll be a sort of blunt pain not like an electric saw. pull back again...oh woops you’re out. DON’T dig around trying to find it again. that can rly hurt your veins. just pull back & try somewhere else. if you get it again on the way back, you can try again. just don’t dig. if you miss, you might see a lump under your skin. if you’re only using gear, not crack/coke, you’ll be fine. put a plaster & hot compress on it. take care of it & use a medicated cream. if you’re snow/speedballing, you’re at risk of an abcess. i can’t help you too much there bc i’ve never snowballed. 

using with someone else: you should have separate everything! do not share water, spoons, filters, swabs, definitely not needles. colour coded needles are very useful but if your needle exchange doesn’t do them, then you can mark them with pen or sit in different areas of the room. sit in the same room/area just so you can be ready with naloxone if you need it. naloxone should be given out through any needle exchange. you can get injection ones & nasal spray ones. they have instructions with them & you should go through a small training thing in order to use it. 

finally, needle gauges. i use 29g all over. it’s the smallest complete they offer. this is bc i have small veins. men may use 27g, which is a slightly larger gauge (the numbers go backwards). at our needle exchange, they don’t make detachables smaller than 27g. so i don’t use detachables. you’ll wanna go with 27 or 29 for arm veins, or 29 or 30/31 (if they do them) for hands & feet. apparently you should use a different longer needle for your femoral vein. i do not use it so i can’t tell you which one it is & i highly recommend not using your femoral. i’ve known people that have lost legs from hitting the artery there. 

be safe, be clean, be careful. it’s kinda my motto. i’ve been banging up for 5 years, never had an abcess, infection or overdose (touch wood lol). do it yourself so you can do it right. & just don’t be an idiot & bang up with flavoured water or crack rocks that have been in gauze or use lemon juice instead of vit c (can make you go blind) or share needles. these are all things ppl i know do. i feel like you have to go out of your way to be unsafe. but i feel for you if you don’t have a good needle exchange near you. i would advise not banging up at all if this is the case.

I enjoy willashiv posting but other than that I'm not sure... not really a rarepair at all but on tumblr it could be considered that: I actually really enjoy Kendall/Naomi.. this is interesting obviously bc we know some stuff from what people have gathered from the shooting. but okay some of my thoughts:

stewy is gonna be approached by the siblings and I think (hope) there's gonna be a double-agent kind of situation going on where he acts as their informant from the inside while obv still acting as if on Logan's side (as he really doesn't have a choice abt the latter part). maybe that's just wishful thinking, though

i've been THINKING about whose queer friend that we know has been cast is gonna come to Willa & Connor's wedding. My bet is, for some reason, on Willa or Kendall. Idk. This is based on nothing but vibes, either way can't wait for that to come up
