Just to recap Lilia’s absolute love for his children:
Dragon eggs can’t hatch without “true love” aka “parental love.” Lilia believed he wasn’t capable of having those emotions, therefore he could not hatch Malleus’s egg if both of his parents died. And yet, and yet, Malleus hatched under the love and care of Lilia.
Lilia learned to love with Malleus (or a better way to say this, learned that he could love with Malleus)
Lilia sings Mallenore’s (Malleus’s mother) lullaby to Malleus often as a child
Silver was put under a spell by the fairies to sleep until the war was over. He could only be woken up by someone who truly loved him. Lilia finds him sleeping as a baby, still under the spell. Guess who wakes up?
Lilia upon meeting baby Silver, talks gently to Silver and says he looks a lot like Malleus when he was a baby. Lilia sings Mallenore’s lullaby to Silver too
He blesses Silver to be blessed by the night. He names him Silver because Silver radiates light, and “like the moon that lights the dark sky, Silver will light the dark path.”
Lilia does everything to learn how to raise a human, including buying baby formula/milk powder. He sings him to sleep.
Child Silver gives Lilia an acorn bracelet so that he can live a long time. Lilia responds, “…I feel I can live another thousand years with this bracelet.”

Harry: So I chose someone a little bit unusual to go to Slughorn's party with me but-
Ron: Oh no. Oh no. It's happening isn't it? It's actually happening.
Harry: What?
Ron: Is the person very blond?
Harry: Yes.
Ron: With silver eyes?
Harry: Yeah actually. How did you-
Ron: And do they idolize their father and repeat all of his crazy views as fact?
Harry: Yup! You've guessed it! Or did someone already tell you I'm going with- Ron? Are you alright?
Ron: I can't believe it. It happened. It actually happened. Hermione and I saw this coming but oh Merlin.
Harry: What's wrong with taking Luna?
Ron: Luna? .... Oh. Oh. LUNA. LUNA LOVEGOOD.
Harry: Obviously.
Ron: YOU'RE TAKING LUNA LOVEGOOD! THANK GOD!
Harry: ...Yes. Who did you think I meant?
Ron: Nevermind but wow you sure have a type huh?

Fuck the timeline, everyone please consider an au where the Knight of Dawn narrowly escapes from a fight that almost kills him and as he's limping through a forest to find somewhere to hide and recover, the woodland creatures find him and lead him somewhere. He follows, assuming they're leading him somewhere safe, but before he can reach it he collapses from his injuries. As his consciousness begins to fade, he sees Princess Meleanor looking down at him and he isn't surprised that she'd been waiting for his end, waiting for him to join her in the Underworld where he'd sent her.
Later in the evening, Lilia Vanrouge is startled by the door to his quiet little cottage bursting open. His prince and pupils have returned... and they have dragged the injured Knight of Dawn back with them. Silver runs up to Lilia and begs "Papa" to help the poor injured man they'd found in the woods, completely oblivious to how Lilia's blood chills and his mouth goes dry because his son this human child had so cluelessly brought an old enemy into their home who also happens to be his father.

Thinking about true love and book 7 again:
True Love is what allowed Malleus to be conceived by his parents and eventually hatched by Lilia.
True love is what put baby Silver to sleep by his parents and woken up by Lilia.
Sebeks parents were able to walk past the line of human and fae, of hundreds of years of animosity, and allowed them to have their children.
Love is what diasomnia is about and love is also what caused the OB to happen.
Love is as destructive and chaotic as it is healing and nourishing 🥹😭💚
