Nash was an iPad kid in every sense of the word. Her mother could not bother to care beyond sending monthly checks to the manor (more like luxurious jail) where the caretakers pocketed half the sum and the rest went to pamper her.

She could't be mad, there were plenty people out in the real world who'd kill for that kind of money. She spent her days tinkering on school projects, binge-watching historical k-dramas and being a general menace to the working staff.

Now imagine her surprise when she went to bed at three in the morning after haphazardly throwing together an art project featuring 'Kakashi the grey hare' and woke up on cold hard marble, instead of her fluffy mattress.

"What the heck?" She shuffled to a sitting stance, rubbing her sore neck.

The brushing of black skirts and the scruff of boots tethered her attention to the floor.

There were maids, a few dozens of them. Nash had her own nannies, sure, but nobody in the twenty-first century wore these silks unless as costumes, that too the very short version and for funzies on Tiktok or the bedroom.

"Woah-", a grin danced on her face. "Is this some sort of cult? Before the intro, I'll make this clear, I don't wanna be a part of this scooby-doo squad. Now, where am I?"

Silence, silence. Silence everywhere. Then, a fine looking specimen of testosterone-producer stepped up from the crowd, gripping a sword-A SWORD?!-in his hand.

"What business do you have with Agriche? How did you manage to get past the barrier guards? Start talking before I make sure you never will."

Well, zamn, who hurt you?

"Yeah, I was hoping you'd the know the answer to that?" She was thoroughly confused. "And since you don't, we can all just forget this ever happened and go our own seperate ways, okay? Okay, bye!"

A brilliant beyond brilliant idea popped up in her head. Taking out her phone, she tried searching for a signal. Hey, her mother may not pick up but she will dispatch atleast one guard to check on her.

"What is that?" The emo grandpa snapped his fingers. The phone was snatched away in an instant.

Nash reached for the object, only to be shoved away. "Hey, that's mine! Give it back!"

"Master, it seems to be some unknown technology, far beyond research-work mentioned in the archives", the woman replied and handed it over to the man in the lavish tux with a. . .bow?

What the frick is happening?!

The man chuckled and Nash felt a chill go down her spine. "A spy? Tell me, which lowlife has started copying my tactics, hm? Though, it is for the greater good, I suppose. The kids outside of this territory are pathetic, they pose no worthy challenge for my soldiers."

Which grown ass man sends people to fight kids?!

With furrowed brows, legs and arms crisscrossed, Nash drew a long breath. "Look dude, I don't know who you are or where I am but I don't mean to cause any trouble. . .yet. But if you don't return my phone, we're gonna have a problem here."

He quirked a brow and a tide of murmurs erupted from the audience. With a subtle clang his weapon was unseathed, the sharp blade pointed straight towards her neck.

Holy mother the of sweet Je-

"Are you aware that I can kill you without so much as moving an inch?"

Her breath hitched and she felt the hiccups coming. "So could a - hic - a chicken with enough motivation. You're not special-"

"Father, you called?"

A whispery voice carried by the wind stopped the man dead in his tracks from possibly ripping Nash a new one.

"Roxana", he rasped, clicking his tongue. "I don't appreciate tardiness. In any case, I'd like you to familiarize yourself with the latest brand of spies that are sent after us. Do they think of us as idiots!”

With that attitude, you’d make a fine Karen, sir. Wait. . .did he just say ’Roxana’?

Nash swiveled on her heel faster than light, coming face to face with said exotic beauty, shimmering rubies for eyes, adorned in a fashionable gown that almost made up for it’s weight.

"Y-You're Roxana Agriche?!"

At her starstruck exclaimation, the lady pursed her lips and only nodded curtly in acknowledgement.

Suddenly, Nash was clutching her head. She felt dizzy, she was definitely going to hurl.

Bye-bye fancy carpet, so long. . .

"Forking fudgecake!" The first row of maids probably jumped at the sheer decibel of her shout. "Did I get hit by truck-kun? No, that's not possible. How will a truck get in my house?! Murder, then? Not unlikely. . .although who would assassinate sweet ol’ me? Let’s see. . .”

"As you witness”, the newly recognized Lante Agriche waved the sword dangerously close to her face. Nash skiddadled to Roxana’s side. "This one doesn't know how to behave.”

Nash tilted her head to gander at the second heir’s face. She was lost in thought, her face overcome with a forlorn expression.

Roxana stroked her chin and then nodded. "You wish for me to oversee the interrogation?”

Lante grinned like a madman, thankfully storing away the blade. "As expected, you are a natural.” Nash had to do a double take to make sure his face fell in the matter of milliseconds. "Do not disappoint me.”

A sharp pain appeared in her scalp when her obnoxiously long pink hair was grasped and she was pushed back against the wall.

Yup, no wonder all the female leads hate this.

Lante did his best impression of a ravenous beast from the Black Forest, snarling and sneering. ”I will figure out where your loyalties lie and set an example through you. Am I understood?"

As astonishing as it is to be held like this by a 2D character, it ducking hurts, biAtch!

"Y-yes, sir!" As if-

He released her but it felt the same, as if her head was on fire. "Take her away.”

Roxana did not spare a moment to escort Nash to her room. They arrived in two minutes max and the blonde dismissed her tendants for the evening.

With a cotton swab and a bottle of suspiciously glowy liquid, she started dabbling the scratch that had formed on Nash's face, right under her eye from being thrown against the stone column.

She was quiet for most of the time while Nash observed Roxana's face. The teen truly was a looker, one worthy of people stopping in their tracks to stare at.

Light hair framed her face like a halo while piercing red eyes that tore through one's soul akin to the devil himself.

"Earlier, you mentioned a truck, yes?"

Nash blinked dumbly. "Uh-huh."

Roxana looked her directly in the eye. "Are your perhaps from. . .This is going to sound ridiculous but are you from Earth? Like, the actual modern world?"

The pinkette chewed on her botton lip. "Er. . .maybe?"

Roxana dropped her head and if Nash wasn't mistaken, she sighed out of relief. "How did you end up here?"

The younger girl threw her hands up. It felt weird talking to a fictional character who went into a fictional-fictional world.

Wait, that makes no sense.

"I don't know, lady! One minute I'm falling asleep reading manhwa on my computer and the next thing I know kaboom Lante-the-asshole Agriche is in front of me!"

"What's a manwha? Did you not read the novel-", Roxana paused mid-way, narrowing her gaze. "You are much too young to read those kinds of books."

Nash coughed awkwardly. "Well, I didn't exactly read it. It doesn't even exist in my world."

"Meaning? And you say your world as if we're from seperate ones."

Nash clapped her hands, slouching against the cushions on Roxana's bed. "Bingo." The girl stared at her, perplexed. "You know about the miltiverse theory, right? Y'know, spider-man and stuff like that?"

The blonde nodded.

"If I were to guess, we are both from two different realities. It's like a layer formation. The 'Flower of Hell' takes place in one, then you enter from another and change the course of the world and then I enter from a different reality like a cherry on top."

Roxana remained still, the subtle widening of her eyes being evidence of understanding. "I see. In any case, we need a place to fit you in. As far as I've looked, there is no escape. Other than death, but that is uncharted territory."

Nash made a face. You speak of death like it's the next door neighbor. Then she remembered. But for her, it probably isn't the worst thing to happen.

She cleared her throat, shrugging as nonchalantly as possible. "Any chance I can take a shower? I kinda sorta really stink."

The ghost of a smile passed over Roxana's face. "I will ask for a bath to be prepared." Her gaze traveled down, "And a tailor to take your measurements. Can't have my charge looking so haggard."

Nash looked down, her face burning red. She was still in her Hello Kitty jammies. "Hey!"

Roxana stood up, packing away the medical kit. "I will be back later. Your dinner will be sent here; eat after freshening up. And try to keep a low profile. The less people are aware of your existence, the better. Fa - Lante will likely dish out my orders for you at dinner."

She made to leave but turned around again.

"What?"

"I did not catch your name."

"Nash", the pinkette replied with a too-shrill voice, trying to rub the exhaustion out of her eyes.

Roxana was amused. "Full name?"

"Ugh. . .Nashira Parker, at your service, m'Lady."

As soon as the door clicked shut, Nash threw herself on the heavenly bed, feeling her body sink into the spread of softness.

'What a day. Welp- this is my life now, I guess.'

BEHOLD!!! THE VERY FIRST OC I EVER MADE!!!!!

Her name was chestnut lily and i made her when i was around 8 years old. She was apart of an MLP next gen i had and was the princess of nature, she was best friends with ALL of the mane 6 and was a self insert mary sue in EVERY sense of the word! (Hell, i remember not knowing what colors she should have so i literally just gave her my IRL hair and eye color, i don't have jaundace though)

Oh yea and since i was going through my edgy phase a little TOO early (AKA showing signs of undiagnosed trauma ✌😚) she was really fucked up and did shit like eating meat, murdering breezies and some other stuff i feel like i shouldn't share because it's THAT concerning (all i feel like i can say is that it involves the love poison from the hearts and hooves episode)

Lastly, i just to clarify that this isn't an edit i made back then. I made this a couple hours ago and i just recolored a rainbow dash vector because despite her NOT being my favorite character at the time, chestnut actually WAS just a rainbow dash recolor. I rarely ever drew chestnut and i mostly just imagined stories about her in my head, all of which in the show art style so more often than not she was a recolor because that was the best way my brain could vizualize her (i remember trying to draw out her design a couple times but they never seemed to stick, hell one of her designs had her with maka's pigtails from soul eater because my sister was obsessed with that anime at the time lol)

I’d like to know more about your fairytail next gen oc, Eirlys, lyvia child

I'm honestly surprised anyone even remembers I created a Lyvia child. I only drew her out like once? And as a baby, but sure... I can give a little insight on her. This isn't all concrete and planned out, so don't expect that many specifics. I have been out of the fandom for a while, but I probably could make a teeny exception and work on her for a bit. It'd be nice to finalize an OTP baby, regardless of how I feel about a fandom.

Eirlys is Juvia and Lyon's first born daughter. (May be an only child? But I did toy around with the idea of giving her a brother?) She is pretty optimistic, gentle, sweet and quick to make friends. Like her mother when she was younger, Eirlys may have a few moments where she gets insecure and upset, if people become too mean. So yeah, little child is quite sensitive. She adores both her parents and is always happy to spend time with them. She values quality time and often tries to get in as much as she can. (So far, she wouldn't exactly have many relationships with other kids, since she is my only FT next-gen.)

May be leaning more towards ice mage for her? I go back and forth. (As for guild, considering her parents are part of different ones, I have yet to think through which she'd be part of?)

Again, none of this is concrete and is subject to change! I will rework her when I get her final design in. She has only been drawn out once.

So you didn't specify, so I'm just gonna answer various for my dcla next gen kids <3

What are their child's/children's name/s?

This far I only have settled names for Leonetta's daughter, Franletta's daughters and Camila's kid. I know I did have some names for Simbar's kids in a oneshot, but I have since that oneshot much more liked them having only daughters (they had a son in that oneshot because I wanted to mix it a bit, but it fits more for them to have only daughters).

Leonetta's daughter is named Isadora. Franletta's daughters are named Elina and Carolina. They also later will have a son, but I have yet to name him. Camila's kid is named Kim. Why did you pick those names/that name?

I have always loved the name Isadora and I have too many OCs named that. It's just consistent with me. It's a name that is not too unusual, yet not as common either, it's like a good balance. I thought it just fitted the personality of their daughter, too.

Elina and Carolina I have no clue - I think that I got it after I drew them for the first time (I have drawn them and you will see that april 30th), and I was like "heh, they look like their names are Elina and Carolina"

So, Camila raises her kid gender neutral - they have an assigned gender at birth ofc, but she has decided to just raise them so that once they're ready to identify what gender they feel like (and of course switch when they feel like it). And Kim felt like a really nice gender neutral name. Are their personality similar to their parents?

Here I'm gonna answer for Leonetta's daughter and also Diecesca's daughter (yes, I have hcs for both canon and non-canons), because it's these two I've thought about more personality wise on.

Isadora is very similar to Violetta personality wise, but she absolutely has Leon's sass shining through her sometimes.

Diecesca's daughter, whom I have not come up with a good name for, has "her mother's looks and her father's charm". Basically, she is as sweet as Fran is but she charms all the ladies like Diego does *eyebrows eyebrows* Having this/these character/s as their parents, how did it affect them?

Here it's gonna be a mix of canon and non-canon ships in all of it's forms.

Kim will grow up with the biggest confidence ever growing up with a mom like Cami. They also are never afraid to speak their mind and knows they're always supported and loved no matter what.

Isadora I think always wanted to have the massive success that her parents have, but Violetta and Leon are very clear with her that they just want her to be happy. It has made Isadora get very musically interested obviously. Also, Violetta does not want to, but she has some of Germán in her, that causes her to start to be overprotective at times. However, she has Leon who can stop her from going too far (and even stop her from doing anything too overprotective at all), which is good, luckily. With that, Violetta also wants Isadora to just be allowed to be free, the way she couldn't as a kid. So now you have a mother who wants her daughter to have the childhood she didn't, but also feels the overprotective need she sadly inherited from her own dad? Yeah... it's gonna be messy! Luckily she has Leon! Germán had no one who could stop him :-)

I also have Luty's daughter here, and she I think always felt like she was the best. You know Ludmila would just always tell her she's a star and then Naty would just happy cry in support if she just did anything at all. This has caused their daughter to just always feel really overconfident in herself, although as she grows up I imagine she feels a bit embarrassed by her moms constant affection and cheer on her. Like, they'd be similar to Rainbow Dash's parents in MLP FiM in that they'd have a whole shrine room with their daughter's accomplishments.

Diecesca's daughter I think looked up to especially Diego so much. Like she's definitely a daddy's girl. It's to the point where she wants to dress like him and takes every advice he gives her to heart (for better or for worse). But then she also has Francesca as her mom, so she definitely knows how to treat people with kindness and loyalty. She cares very deeply about her friends just like Fran does. Fran is often the one who will scold her when she gets in trouble, while Diego is more "ah, leave her be, it's ok". But, Fran and Diego can both be very chaotic when they want to be, and their daughter DEFINITELY inherits that. Imagine someone with the cocky attitude of Diego and the way to get into chaos like Fran. Not to mention this girl is related to Gregorio too. She's a handful.

Now, I wanna go over to Jim and Yam, because I have two daughters for them too. And their daughters are just buckwild. Like growing up with two sarcastic and chaotic people who always got in trouble? Their kids will just be them but more wild. Like I can imagine Jim and Yam trying to have some sort of order with them, and then just giving up and deciding to let them run around as they please. Because they realize, letting them explore and play and mess around, it eventually leads them to doing the right choices. Also, their kids will always be accepted and supported exactly how they are. Also, their moms will defend them for anything. Any planned stories/events with the kids in your head?

I do have some for Franletta's kids, I'm gonna post one later this month, but it won't include their third kid. But I have a story in my head of when they adopt him and bring him home.

I have a story in my head involving Isadora and Diecesca's kid... and some things they get up to. Violetta and Leon are involved too, and Francesca is kind of involved but not as much. It's mostly Leonetta and the two girls.

I have a fun little story for Jam and their daughters involving Ramiro. Basically, Ramiro is convinced they have a son, and Jam decide to never tell him. Gender is a concept anyway, and also they wanna mess with him. Anyway one day he visits and one of the girls just says something and he's like "Wait. You're a girl?" and confronts Jim and Yam about it, who just, in their full trolling voices, "We never said the genders of our kids lol?" - it needs some work on though. Also, I have thought of a babysitting Ramiro story.

My obsession with Trip really goes way back huh

Welcome to: Owl exposes their art evolution through their many itterations of Trip from Pokémon Best Wishes!

It all started circa 2011. Unfortunately, only one drawing featuring Trip survived the intense purge of any art from this dark period of my life. All I can tell you is that I also drew in 2011 a full on comic about him and you'll have to believe me on that one.

My very first digital art, in 2013, was also representing Trip with a random OC of mine (I think her name was Evangeline or something to that effect). I actually posted it years ago on a Pokémon Forum. Yeah, didn't get a whole lot of love. It is to note that this one is the SECOND drawing I made digitally of Trip. The first one is most likely still sieging in my father's old laptop. Fun fact, this was drawn on Paint.NET using a mousepad. I also found in a sketchbook another one I drew during this time period, this time with some other characters. It's kinda wild how my artstyle was fluctuating at the time.

I then came back to drawing mostly traditionally. I got a bunch of blank sketchpads in 2014 at an art store and instantly got to work and drew the entire cast of Best Wishes for some odd reason. I also found another one. While it's undated, I'm assuming it's from the same timeperiod because of the artstyle. Gosh I liked drawing twink bodies for men huh? That... contrasts a lot with the amount of JoJo looking characters I like to draw these days.

I found some odd sketches from 2015 here and there. It's mostly a try at a realistic portrait and a sketch I made with ink. I remember being very proud of those two when I first made them. I have no clue who this other character with him is meant to be though. Maybe it's still Evangeline or something. Really goes to show how much I changed my view on dynamics and such I suppose. I called it "Rolling Trainer" cause I am a genius who got way into Vocaloid in middleschool.

Next is 2016. It was lodged in a very short sketchbook I used during an internship. I LOVED oniisuu's art style and tried to do chibis like them a LOT. Also I left in the text so that we can all appreciate the cringe :DD As you can see, I sort of thought my obsession for Trip was just hate for some reason since I really didn't like Best Wishes? Like don't get me wrong, there are a LOT of things wrong with Best Wishes but with age I realized that the reason I was so angry at how it was handled was because I loved the characters and thought they deserved better treatment. So it's kind of funny to look back and see how I just genuinely thought I hated this random minor character when I'd draw him pretty much all the time.

After that, I think I took a pretty big break or just lost most of my art of him because the next I found was in 2019. It has a very self aware note next to one of the drawings and the next one has an ink illustration. We can really see how my proportions improved over the years and how my style became more defined, going more towards "semi-realistic". I personally like the shortcut on the arm. I don't think I used a reference so that makes it pretty nice honestly. Also, as you can see, that's when I started drawing Trip with his hair going a bit up for his fringe. I have NO clue why I've been doing this since recently even though it's NOT in his design but it's there.

I found another art made, I think, in 2020 this time. I had been drawing pokémon falling down for a fabric pattern and just drew every pokémon I liked from each generation, a pretty nifty thing I might show in its entirety as it spans over 10 pages or so, and I drew some trainer characters for each gen. And of course, y'all know who I drew for gen 5. I love how my note next to him is just so tired with living. I also redrew the above illustration with watercolors. Doesn't look great but eh.

I also did a redraw of one of my earlier digital art (2013) this time kinda showcasing what I like to do in term of dynamics these days. So huh prepare thyselves for 17 year olds Trip and Eva.

Buff women. Anyways, I got some small digital sketches for 2021, nothing special I never completed them. I might finish the one on the right because I genuinely like the dynamism behind it, how flowy it is, the perspective and also one of my old hc that his hoody has no sleeves.

And finally, the moment we've all waited for, 2022. I am currently 21 and this monster still has not left my head. He's here to stay so I might as well embrace it and return to my good old brain rot. It kinda all came back when I just doodled him on the back of a receipt as stupid as it is, and really, that's a good summary of the kinda place I usually draw Trip on. He always comes back, unannounced, into my life and I draw him randomly onto any surface available.

I hope you found this dive into my art journey motivational or just funny or something. One thing is sure: I'm not stopping drawing Trip. He's been living rent free in my brain for 11 years, at this point, he's staying, it's too expensive to try to evict him, I tried. So huh, if ya want more Trip content I guess follow my blog??? I'm currently making a sprite replacer for BW to turn the MC into Trip and maybe might do a sprite replacer for BW2 as well (though that'd mean redrawing all the costumes at Pokéwood... UUGHHGHGHGHHSDGHDFJSDGfyzeggf) and I also like to shitpost about him and write stupid fanfics about him sometimes so don't hesitate. I'll see you all later, take care of yourselves!!

Can you reveal the ethnicities of your Smurfs humanizations humans?

Sure, I can answer this one without drawing anything so I can do it today XD Disclaimer, because I don't 100% know what I'm talking about all of the time so bare with me here. I may have to just state country of origin for some of them, and tbh for some characters I just don't know! I threw a colour pallet together and went 'yeah this looks good :)' so I'll mention that where prompted lmao.

I draw a lot of characters so I'll try to be fairly concise XD I generally associate the characters to their (mostly 80's) accents, and less the 'Belgian' nationality, so that's a start.

But again since race =/= nationality you get characters like Papa, Smurfette, Vanity, Farmer, Dreamy, Handy & Clumsy etc who are white Americans, Tracker and Marco who are white Englishmen, Gutsy is a white Scottish man, Painter is a white frenchman etc tbh there's a fair few so I won't be too specific here.

Hefty, Tuffy, Grouchy, SmurfTulip, SmurfBegonia, Pushover & Weakling are all black Americans, and when I did the Smurf Gals I was able to be a little more focused on SmurfWillow and Blossom cause fun with flags. Willow is from Guadeloupe and Blossom is from Ghana.

SmurfStorm is Filipino but probably w/ mixed roots, which funfact actually came more from a humanisation of a character from another franchise I saw another artist do, their version of this character gave me Stormy vibes and it gave me a good direction to go in with her design! :)

To finish off the grove girls, I have SmurfLily is Chinese, SmurfMelody is Japanese, SmurfHoney and my oc SmurfGadget are Mexican, and coming back to SmurfMint as white presumably* American.

*She doesn't have a voice rn

For misc villagers, Tailor is an Ashkenazi Jewish man, but I'm not super familiar with the more specific details of that, I can say his physical design was inspired by real life celebrities of the same background. The same applies to his cousins Spinner and Weaver. Brainy tbh I don't even know myself XD The first time I ever drew him he looked kind of Korean, but as of his new redesign ... eh heck if I know. Brainy's vibing, that's what. Don and Chef are Italian, Poet is White-presumably some country of the Caribbean mixed but I haven't decided anything specific.

For the Smurflings we got uhh, Sassette is white American, Snappy is African American, Nat is native American and Slouchy is Thai.

And on the misc oc's side of things just to wrap em up we got Elena who's Spanish and Butcher who's South Korean. Luddite my next gen is Indian, so I suppose that makes Passive-Aggressive and Clueless both Indian as well, Dopey too cause he's Clueless' brother so three more for the pile. And obviously most next gen will take after their parents with the exception being Quixotic who's adopted and Brazilian, and Nova who is an alien so doesn't really count since they're not even technically humanised even in the humanised AU XD

4: Tell me about one of your abandoned WIPs. Why did you abandon it?

I had started a um a Penny/Allen origin fic that involved Penny moving to San Francisco for the first time staying with her aunt bowen there was a familiar there a little cat but it just. i never really got around to it. there was also the phoebe's source baby fic but i'm honestly spoiler alert just gonna loop that in with my calling cupid one idk if that one's gonna be a dency origin story or if i'm going for a new source kids bc idk the source's heir?? what a fun little lad!

6: What are some topics you will never write about?

i mean like. i feel like the obvious one is incest bugs / honestly scares the everloving shit outta me how many chris/wyatt fics are there esp considering how few next gen fics are out there beyond that i don't really know ig i won't know where the line is til i find it but like. what the fuck is wrong with y'all wyatt/chris freaks lmao. y'all are bad people.

8: How do you develop your OCs?

god isn't that a great question. they possess me. but no fr a lot of them come from like. the notion of the bit. like. what would be funniest. like with warren and sheridan i mean they literally came about as a joke like lmao wouldn't it be funny if prue and jack had twins. and then i had a previous idea of the next gen kids world jumping and landing in a parallel universe where p3 still existed and they're like okay where are we gonna find the witches we need to find and then parker just points to a poster for a band called the w!tches like call it a hunch but. and i'm like i should use that. and then i said okay which name is less punk rock and i'm like no the idea of warren being in a rock band too cool it must be sheridan. and then i needed a band i specifically remembering calling my buddy rose who edits all my stuff and i formed the band with them on the line rose actually drew them as i spoke that drawing might still exist somewhere. and then for warren he needed to be not sheridan so initially i was thinking hotel management bc my mom almost majored in that and lets be honest its not very punk rock but i wasn't sold on it but then it's like. okay well i also have mentally illness so goes it. and so like sheridan you know. has a death wish. he's not gonna kill himself bc that's gonna depress everyone too much but he can't wait to die he needs to go down fighting so people can be like wow sheridan so brave gone too soon and then you don't have to worry about your future or getting better because your dead. #lifehack. btw if you think like this deadass you need to be in therapy. but. great character motivation. so if sheridan wants to die, warren should want to live. sheridan's got his plan he's gonna be in a punk rock band and then die young. warren wants to grow old but he doesn't know. what he's going to do. he studies history to better know the craft. he's going to get a graduate degree in it to better know the craft. (lie. he's getting a graduate degree because he's terrifies to move forward, to actually live his life. sheridan lives because he believes he's going to die tomorrow. warren doesn't. his actions have consequences, how is he going to move forward? so rather than attempt to do that, he stays in academia, he stays in stasis, because then he doesn't actually have to face his future.) so yeah. foils. lots of foils. if a is this, then b should be that in contrast. basically everything is formed out of relationships. parental, fraternal, plantonic, romantic, like. that's the meat of it. that and whatever's funniest.

9: Are there any fics you’d love to see but don’t want to write yourself? What are they?

that's a good question. i'm so bad at actually writing things. i really want to also do my prandy kids and the magical morrises and honestly shane and abel since one anon brought them back up I Love next gen kids but beyond that i'd love to see more phoebe/coop fics and paige/henry fics and also honestly phoebe/leslie and prue/jack and like more wildcard piper/kyle obvi lol paige/jinny. it's just. there's so much i Want to write but like. won't lol. i want to. but. know theyself. i probably won't.

17: What has been the proudest moment for you so far since you started writing?

idk man i'm really proud of how far i've made it in my next gen fic and honestly warren and sheridan too love those boys they appear in my dreams a lot. and it's like. this shit it's like almost at the length of a novel you know? and i'm just. i used to write a shitton as a kid i was never able to finish anything tho but with these i've made it so far and i feel like i've come so close and it's genuinely stuff that i personally enjoy reading and it's just. i went through a really long phase when you know #itsmentolillnussluv and i couldn't write so to be back adn to have these characters that live within me i just. isk it makes me happy.

18: Do you feel like your work gets enough recognition? What kind of feedback do you like to receive?

i mean. "recognition??" like probably. but i don't think it really gets seen as much as i would like it too bc you know. it's so niche. idk i do kinda wanna someday publish these stories you know w&s and dency and stuff bc i just. i like sharing stories. i like when people like my stories when they like my characters bc they're my little buddies it's like when you throw a party that overlaps your social circles and it goes really well and you just glow a little because everyone likes each other like <3. but no i love love love love love receiving comments on my work or when people are like can i use your characters in fics like omg that always means so much to me lol like i always try to make my stories you know stories that people can sit in that like. you know. like um wrap yourself in a blanket all cozy like or use that like as like a blanket fort with little fairy lights something fun and sweet and safe and like. idk. you know?

23: What’s one piece of advice you would give to anyone who wants to start writing or posting their writing online?

just like. like it. like what you’re writing. and if you don’t like it. ditch it! write something you look forward to writing, something you wanna talk about, something that you like daydream about what you’re gonna do next with. like. bc it’s free man, aint nobody paying you to do this. so just do what you want to do. unless its writing incest fic. then you should just shut the fuck up and reflect.

24: Which fic of yours do you wish people would ask about more? Why?

From left to right: Iida Tenri (Iichako kid) Kirishima Eimi (Kiribaku kid) Tetsutetsu Tetora (Tetsukendo kid) and Kaminari Kirari (Shinkami kid)

Character dynamics will be under the cut!

Kirari, Tenri, and Eimi: These three girls have been close friends since they were little kids. With Kirari being one year older than Tenri and Eimi, she’s seen as the “big sister” of the group. Eimi is passionate and thinks with her heart while Tenri is logical and looks to facts for solutions, so Kirari tries her best to find the middle ground between the two. But because she can’t help herself, Kirari also tends to rope her besties into her troublesome pranks (especially aimed at her parents) Conversations between them last way too long and not a single hour of sleep will ever be slept at their sleepovers.

Eimi and Tetora: Due to the brotherly connection between Kirishima and Testutetsu, Eimi and Tetora are basically cousins. Tetora is quite shy, so being around the boisterous Eimi can sometimes be overwhelming for him. Eimi tries to rope him into her obsessions of vampires and brooding anime characters, to which he will politely follow along, knowing he won’t have much of a choice anyways. Being the romantic she is, Eimi does everything in her power to be the best wingman possible for him. Despite Tetora’s inability to relate to Eimi, he is grateful to have her as his friend and wouldn’t change her for the world.

Kirari and Tetora: Tetora knew about Kirari from his cousin’s close relationship with her, but he wasn’t formally introduced to her until they were put in the same class their first year of high school. Tetora’s quirk is “Iron Fist”, so his hands can harden into steel. He always gets comments on how he’d be a great fighter, but he’s actually quite passive, and wants nothing to do with fighting. When sharing off their quirks on the first day of class, Kirari told Tetora that his quirk would be “great for kneading the shit outta some dough.” It was the first non-fighting related comment he’d ever been told about his quirk. At this, he immediately fell in love. Kirari’s feeling for Tetora started off platonic, but overtime, she found his gentle nature to be reassuring, and she wanted to spend more and more time with him (though she’s still more subtle about her feelings than he is) Besides, she always found him to be kinda cute...

Eimi and Tenri: Though they’re usually in their classic trio, Eimi and Tenri have spent plenty of time with just the two of them. Being in the same class, they spend all their school time together. Most of that time is spent getting into heated debates over which select love triangle romance options are compatible for the heroine of whatever media obsession Eimi has to bring to the table. Since they tend to approach their outlooks from completely different sides, these debates hardly ever get solved without a third party opinion. However, Tenri often lends a hand to Eimi for emotional support. Whenever Eimi gets discouraged by an unsuccessful romantic endeavor, she always offers to take the place of her date, saying “you can do all those things with a friend too!” Because of this, Eimi can always depend on Tenri, and always goes to her first for anything.

How I played damage control to an anti in a small anime fandom and may have led to her ultimate downfall

I know I had a really nice write up of this at one point but oh well. I’ll spill more of the tea in this one because honestly the tea was so hot.

There are a few things that I have to give context to first. Gaia online was like THE mega forum of the 2000s, you made a little avatar and through posting and doing other activities on the forum you made money to buy clothes for your avatar. There were forums for everything but the fannish portions were really what drew in most of the people. The anime I was into was Beyblade. It was a shonen anime about fighting with tops that were possessed by the spirits of magical creatures. The story was honestly pretty average but the characters were fantastic and the fandom is to this day still one of my favourites. The series had a primarily male cast and didn’t even have a female lead until the second season. This led to the fanfic for the English fandom being about 70% canon/OC, 10 % canon m/f, and 20% slash. The most popular character in the English fandom was by far Kai Hiwatari, the loner badboy of the team.

Also before we get started I would like to add that one of my best friends was neck deep in this and the two of us were more or less fandom married. This is the same friend that I fake dated, had feelings for, and she nearly got me into kpop in 2011 so like if you haven’t read that story please read it too because it will give you a good idea of how stupid I am and how much of a fanfic I have truly lived.

To set the stage I was 16, soon to be 17 when I joined the fandom and it was 2004. In September of that year I wrote a humour longfic that became an absolute smash hit and I found myself somehow fandom famous. It was around this time that I joined Gaia online. I made my little avatar and immediately went looking for the beyblade thread so that I could make new friends. I found the main thread, made my little introduction and at the end of it mentioned that I was a slash writer but I supported all ships. This is where I met C. She had declared herself the authority on Beyblade in these parts and I had just committed the crime of mentioning slash which was very obviously not canon and we did not discuss in this thread because we only discussed canon things. I was like well that’s a bit severe but like sure whatever I just want to hang out and have fun.

Oh boy did I have no idea what I was in for.

C was a year older than me and unfortunately that made her older than the majority of the fans at the time. Her favourite character was Kai, and she was not shy about talking about this fact. She stanned Kai above all other characters, and often at their expense. She was also a fanfic writer of a popular canon/OC series. Actually, she was so full of herself that she didn’t even call herself a fanfic writer, no her stories were in fact novels and were apparently very good. I never read them. But more on that later.

Eventually the slash fans got tired of her being rude to us in the general thread so we made a Beyblade slash thread. There was a core of like 8 or so of us and we honestly had sooo much fun. When C would be too unbearable in the main thread the people from there used to come over to our thread and we’d chat with them about non slash stuff because we were honestly all multishippers and just wanted to have fun. We’d get comments like “wow, I’ve had more pleasant canon het ship discussions in the slash thread than the regular thread”. We never worried about C coming over and getting upset about comments like this because she refused to be associated with anything related with slash lmao.

I tried my best to keep the peace between C, myself, and the rest of the fandom because ultimately I hate being in fandom drama. I just want everyone to have a good time. I’m a people pleaser. Unfortunately my newfound fame put me in the awkward position of being the most fandom popular person in our small community aside from C. Virtually every fan that read fanfics that came into our thread knew one of us or the other by reputation and C HATED this. Especially because people would come in to the thread, recognise me and go “oh my goodness I love your fanfics!” and I’d be super sweet with them and it’d lead into “I can’t believe how nice you are, I love you” which would lead to us crying at each other. This was not the kind of fan interaction that C got, no her fans were more kind that were there to praise her and worship her like a deity that had blessed them with some gift. Rarely did they tell her how kind she was.

Back in the mid 2000s there were really commonly those commercials (usually by Christian organisations) asking people to sponsor say children in Africa or to help build schools or provide drinking water. You all probably know the ones; know the language that they used in those commercials. My fandom wife, who I suppose I shall call wifey because yes we were THAT couple back then, once said that C described her fics like those people described donating money to save the lives of Children in Africa. So we used to joke that her fics were so good they’d save lives in Africa. Looking back at it all, she almost had a very fundamentalist Christian approach to bringing people into her fanfics. She of course tried to get all the slash people into reading it. None of us read canon/oc fic mostly due to our poor treatment at the hands of their fans and creators. Getting fed up I one day told her that if she would read any one of my fanfics that I would read the entirety of her novels. Yes, I was willing to commit to read a couple 100k of canon/oc fanfic that I’d never touch normally if she would even read one of my 1k 1 shots. Heck, I had a fic even that shipped 2 minor characters so she didn’t even have to sully herself reading about one of the main characters. It was honestly a good deal in her favour. I kept this up until the day we all left the fandom. Sometimes I do wonder if her fics were even ¼ as good as she claimed, but I will never know because she refused to read my fics.

She wasn’t all bad and a tyrant all the time. As long as people kept the conversations on track and didn’t come in to the thread saying things like “KAI IS SO HOT ND T3H BEST N I AM GUN 2 MARRY HIM” she stayed mostly civil. It was always hilarious watching InuYahsa or Naruto fans try to come in and bad mouth Beyblade because they’d unleash the dragon and C was great at chasing off undesirables in the thread.

The real apex of goings on though on Gaia was the guild drama. So guilds were like exclusive themed mini forums within Gaia. Anyone could buy one and run it however they want, as long as it still adhered to Gaia’s ToS. C of course was the owner of the only Beyblade guild. The fandom wasn’t really big enough to support 2 guilds so we just kind of let it go. Technically she allowed people to post slash fanfics but like everything had to be explicitly tagged and there was absolutely no slash RP. Wifey and I controlled a handful of minor characters together in the forum RP and definitely used to try to push the boundaries a little bit. Some ambiguous flirting here, a stray comment there. It was such a fragile balance though because C was heavy on the ban button. The active portion of the guild was just people that were in the cult of C and worshipped her writing.

Understandably the other slash fans and myself were getting disheartened by this. So we pooled our funds together and decided that we’d open a second guild that though it was run by slash fans we would welcome anyone into our ranks. We just wanted to have a fun place for everyone to hang out, and to hopefully run a few events out of. In hindsight, we should have seen what would happen. When we opened the guild, with me as the guild leader, it was like somebody blew up the whole dam protecting the delicate ecosystem we had cultivated. Every single person in the Gaia fandom that was not a zealous follower of C applied to be in our guild and left her guild. We of course figured that we’d attract some of the gen population but we did not expect to accidentally poach all of it. All of the moderators were getting messages from people thanking us for giving them a place where they could say whatever they wanted without fear of getting their faces ripped off or banned.

C lost her shit. She was so mad that we went behind her back to ruin her guild. We literally had to show her posts in the very public slash thread that we had been planning this in public and that it was not to ruin her life. We just wanted a place where we could freely post slash. The two of us had some spicy comments back and forth and then she dropped an absolute bombshell on me. Since Gaia’s mail system is terrible I unfortunately no longer have exactly what she said but it was something along the lines of “Ok, you win. I’m going to close my guild.”. Us slash fans had never been doing this to win anything. We had never been competing. We just wanted a safe space to be ourselves.

C never joined our guild. The fandom slowly faded out within the next year anyway. We weren’t getting new content so naturally people just drifted into other fandoms. C kept up with the main Beyblade thread for a lot longer than most of us but eventually that eventually faded into obscurity too.

I learned a lot about fandom bullies from those days. But honestly the thing that stuck with me the most out of everything was that if you provide a positive safe space for people they will flock to it. It may seem like there are so many hostile people out there, but there really aren't. They're the minority but they just make sure that their voice is the loudest. The best way is to ignore them and just do your own thing. The bullies just want attention and if you don’t give it to them and prove to them that their opinion doesn’t matter to you then they’ll move in and find something else to yell at.

When did you start writing Olitz? 2018, after the show ended.

Tell us about yourself! What do you want readers to know about you? I'm from the Philippines, the capital which is Manila specifically. I feel like there's not that many scandal and olitz shippers from where I'm from and I haven't interacted with a local scandal fan haha. Greys and HTGWM are very much more popular here so I guess there's that. I'm basically your regular Millenial girl - balancing work, bills, finances, shopping, the pros and cons of single life hahaha. That's it. I live a boring life!

What drew you to Olivia and Fitz? Firstly, a lot is really credited to Kerry and Tony's chemistry. They seriously have the most potent chemistry that I have ever seen when it comes to tv couples and it's very hard to forget combined with their great acting. I feel like they were really born to play Olivia and Fitz. Next would be the very raw, deeply flawed, and realistic portrayal of their epic love story but dysfunctional relationship. Olitz is a very controversial couple. I would even argue that it is Shonda's most controversial couple in Shondaland. When you go outside of the fandom, they are deeply hated to this day and people have a lot of energy (and apparently are willing to spend their time) to criticize them. But all that hatred and negativity towards them shows how very spot on their story was. There's a lot that could have been improved on but the issues that stemmed out of their relationship and their flaws I think resonated with many people which is why a lot hated them. For a ship to get so much hate even years after show ended, it goes to show that a lot really payed attention to them and were moved by their story. ps. you don't get that much attention with olake haha. that pairing appears to be only relevant when it involves fitz/olitz.

What made you want to write about them? I was really hoping that someone would write a long-form post-canon fic about them. I really thought their ending would spark a slew of fanfic! So with its absence and after back-and-forth consultation with my writer friend, Nina, I decided to just go on and write (my very first attempt ever!) what I would want to read. Canon olitz doesn't have a good rep understandably but there's really a lot of room to unpack in it and at the same time get a deeper insight on why Liv and Fitz acted that way during the show. There's still a lot of story to tell because as cheesy as this sounds Liv and Fitz storyline as seen in scandal will never be over.

How would you describe your writing? Angsty, problematic, realistic, raw, hopeful even when it feels not (I hope I do convey these!)

What inspires you to write / create? Olivia and Fitz characterization and their relationship in the show.

Favorite movies, shows, music?

Films - In the mood for love, Fight Club, Parasite, Clueless, Bridget Jones Diary lol. Any films really by Wong Kar Wai, Davin Fincher, and Nancy Meyer

Shows - Sex and the City, The OC, Succession, Skins UK 1st and 2nd Gen

Music - Too many but mainly The Strokes, Daft Punk, The XX, Phoenix, Britney, Kylie Minoque, etc.

How long does it take you to write a chapter? It really varies! The shortest was like 2 weeks-ish and the longest was like 8 or 9 months. Aside from how my life is going, it really highly depends on my mood towards the subject-Olivia and Fitz. Admittedly I'm an on-and-off shipper, sometimes I enjoy them or get in my feels and then there are times that I highly dislike and regret shipping them to the point that I wish they never got back together or argue that Fitz should have been written off the show. Writing for me is very mood based.

Did the show's themes and plots encourage you or discourage you from writing? Encourage.

A favorite line, scene, or paragraph you’ve written.

"Fitz back then always thought that once he has fulfilled his father’s predetermined life for him at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave that he’ll be back home to this cozy beach town. That was of course before that one fateful day on February in New Hampshire when a tornado stormed into his life that was ornamented by the California sun." (Chapter 3)

To me, it sounds nice when you read it haha Their fight scene in chapter 10. Even before finishing chapter 1, I knew that I was going to write a big fight scene and one that is similar to 509. It's a very very important scene to me.

Fave Olitz moments? The 'I hate you. I hate you too' phone call, 'I would cross that line again', those small moments when you could see how deeply and conflicted in love Olivia was (eg. watching him and Mellie dance during the first inauguration ball) - Liv is known to be not "accepting" of their love and whether she love him or not was always questioned, but a lot her actions and expressions when you look back showed how deeply she fell in love with him.

Fave Olitz fanfic moments? I forgot the title and the author but there was this one shot back then about Olivia who decided to end her engagement to Jake because she had unresolved feelings for Fitz. This fic took place a year I think after Fitz presidency. So she went all the way to Vermont regardless if it's years since her and Fitz last encounter and how bad their relationship ended - they fought about him going to war for her I think. So yeah she went all the way to Vermont not knowing what to expect and the writer did a good job of piecing them back together.

Do you like it when readers engage with you via comments / social media? Yes.

Story Reviews: Love them, hate them? BOTH! The reviews reminds of me of the live tweets when the show was on and the energy back then so I like that aspect. I appreciate readers that are grateful to authors and those that show how curious they are with the stories. I hate the intentional and consistent badmouthing to the point of bullying and creating competition among authors which made some quit or removed their stories. The nonstop attacks by some these "guest" reviewers really says a lot about their character. My friend Nina would always say that the writers don't owe themselves to anyone and that is highly true. We do it because we want to write and we make time for it without expecting anything in return really. Don't like it, then don't read it. Read and review the story you want to read then.

What advice would you give to a new Olitz writer? Just write! Don't care if you don't have experience at all or if you're too conscious about how not perfect your grammar is. The olitz fanfic community I think has a consistently growing audience so there will always be readers. Also most importantly, write the story that you want to tell. It is your work and only you will know how to go about it. Don't focus too much on the reviews/criticisms and don't let it solely dictate you on how to write your story.

Outside of your fics, do you have any fave Olitz stories or authors? PurplePineapple, torri.oats, Only You by anonolitz, that one shot I mentioned above.

Do you talk to other Olitz authors? If so, do you like the camaraderie? I've only interacted with like 2 I think hahaha. It's a very supporting and encouraging group! I think we're just excited to read each other's stories which is a nice feeling.

Have you made friends (people you talk to outside of fanfic) because of Olitz / Scandal fanfic? Yes and we've been friends for almost three years! She knows so much of my life honestly compared to my irl friends.

IT’S A LONG POST BUT HERE’S THE STUFF I FOUND, UNDER THE CUT!

so this is from like.... 2012-ish? It was either freshman or sophmore year of high school. My friend and I thought it’d be funny if we made edgy pony ocs cuz we hadn’t really watched the show and we wanted to tease my boyfriend at the time cuz he was into it. Literally not too long after making these, my friend and i watched the show and got hooked...

....Yall probably won’t believe this, but this is Zonta. I don’t know what’s up with her proportions.. But Jesus.

This is an interesting situation. So my friend and I had an idea for a next gen situation with our ocs. The boy is named Remy, and he was Zonta’s son (this was back when eric was still around instead of markus. If you don’t know who Eric is, i’ve talked about that fucker on here before lmao just look up his name you should find it)

The girl was his gf, Layla. I’ve since recycled the name for a huepoint character cuz i liked it so much. This was my first attempt at drawings Goths

Little did I know Zonta would be the goth in the future...

IF SOMEONE CAN TELL ME WHO MADE THESE PLEASE TELL ME SO I CAN CREDIT THEM I HAVEN’T HAD A CHANCE TO FIND THEM YET. But my other boyfriend printed this off for me cuz i had a bad iz phase in high school. I think he did this before we started dating, actually. There were more pictures, but I don’t have them anymore. There was a whole binder at one point.

more mlp fanart. I had a particular attachment to Sweetie Bell for some reason? Clearly this was before she got her cutie mark in canon, so I had to make up one for her. I don’t remember the context but i think i’d aged her up to give her a phantom of the opera story where she fell for a changeling who liked her singing? I was creative for sure.

this was from when i first got into fnaf, and you can tell. I got into fnaf right as I started college so this was one of many doodles i did during that time that survived. God i can draw them so much better now...

For the love of everything sane, don’t ask why i drew mlp characters in a Burton-esque style. I couldn’t answer that if I wanted to... Kinda wanna redraw it tho, especially Fluttershy cuz she was my favorite.

i didn’t draw this but i thought i’d share it anyway cuz it’s a fond, kinda funny, memory. So my boyfriend at the time actually drew this, because i’d asked him to draw Christine and the Phantom in his style... He’s a furry, so I don’t know what I expected, but honestly it wasn’t that bad for like 2011-2012

I got into Be More Chill not too long after it started getting popular... I’ve loved the SQUIP a long time, guys, probably since like 2016-2017ish.

Right before I made this blog, I was considering who to ship with Beetlejuice, so I started coming up with ideas, this was the first idea. I don’t remember her name right off the bat but i’d drawn her a few times before ultimately deciding to go with Dottie instead.

I just like this picture a lot cuz it’s sweet, even if the anatomy is weird and i dunno what’s going on with zonta’s legs.

This was another self insert character I ended up scrapping, but I don’t remember what she was for. She might’ve been another prototype character to ship with beetlejuice before i settled on dottie. She cute tho I might bring her back for whoever I fall for next.

Zonta again. God she looked so wonky. Yes, that is Snickers, he’s been a part of her life long before she was a witch and he was her familiar. He could talk even then, if i remember correctly.

I can’t quite remember when this was, but I think it was during the time I lived with my grandpa, so a few years ago.

THIS WAS 2015 FOR SURE CUZ THIS WAS DRAWN AT MY DAD’S HOUSE. Think of this as a prototype Husk situation, Zonta wasn’t a witch yet, but her telekinesis powers fucked her up really bad if she used it for too long, and she’d hallucinate stuff like this. This was in the short, short period of time where I gave her neat swirly tattoos on her arms.

This was done for sure in 2014 cuz it was for English class. We were reading the Scarlet Letter and my teacher had us draw a bunch of characters in our own stylistic way. So I drew Hester’s nasty ass husband, who was often called the Leech, as a leech monster. My teache was very impressed with me.

And, finally, some comics from when my mom was a kid. Some of these were hers, but a lot of them were actually my aunt’s. I think they’re neat.
