13/02/2023 ✨ After three months without a proper study desk, finally I bought a set! Yay! I've been working from home without one, and placing the laptop on my lap wore me off too quick than it should have /crying. I spent hours slacking instead of working.

February update: a local publisher sent me a book this month! I don't know why, but maybe because of one of my book review of the same publisher last month? Anyhow, I don't know how that review reached the publisher and made them think they should send me another. I'm happy, nonetheless! Free book is always nice, isn't it?

There's this book fair in my town that run from Apr 29th until May 4th (if I'm not mistaken) and of course I cannot help but to just fly there right away! I promise myself not to spend too much (because I want to save for an iPad this year) but I ended up buying two books ;w;

These were heavily influenced by my Twitter timeline, ngl. The left book is titled "Yang Terlupakan dan Dilupakan" it's a short-story antology by Indonesian women authors whose works were erased by the local government for various reason. The right one is "Lebih Putih Dariku" is actually a novel translated from Dutch, originally titled Lichter dan ik.

I'll need to finish my previous read's review first before I can start any of these, lol.

There's this book bazaar happening in my town, and they sell English books almost half the price! It's called Big Bad Wolf, held annually, and I believe several SEA countries also have the same bazaar? Anyways, I bought six books, three of them are hardcovers novels 🥹

I bought these mainly because of their pretty covers, ngl, but I looked up their summaries and rating on Goodreads and their premises look promising. Hopefully the actual writing is reaching my expectation. I don't know when will I start them, though. I still have Bunny and Red, White, & Royal Blue on read currently---and I plan to read Babel after those. So. Yeah.

This week passed by too fast, as usual. July is nearly ended, and I haven't finished any of the book I started this month, lmao. This book right here is interesting, but I definitely didn't recommend it as a light read, because it'll be hard if you cannot keep your focus. I cannot, so that's why it takes too long to read it ;w;

Life update, this week I got my salary, so I can replace my old glasses!

Guess who have to finish some portfolios but watch a 4 hours long video about Genshin Impact lore? Me, who else. Due to my device's lack of compatibility, I cannot play the game any longer, so I resorted on watching videos explaining the lore :')

Aside from that, I ordered a new A6 binder for my scheduler. Its holographic cover is so cute, I cannot not buying it ;w;

Also, two days ago I had a job interview, and I really want it to go through, because my current boss is kinda stingy… She demands so much with low salary, who wants that kind of boss, right? Let's just hope and pray for the result ;w;

Mandatory remote work snap, and today's brunch! I managed to read several pages of Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch while eating brunch (it was interesting so far, and I like how Tartt describe her setting.) But the weather has been very hot lately, and the first place didn't have airconned room, so I had to move before I melted into puddles, lol. I ordered lemonade in the second (airconned) cafe (right pic) and now I'm low-key regret I didn't bring any cardigan with me.

16/12/2022 ✨ This is a mandatory work from café snap! I've been to this café three times; twice on the same shop, once on a different shop in a different area but the same franchise. I think this one is an underrated one because this place is, like, never crowded? I mean, yes there are other people beside me, but it wasn't like the other crowded coffee shops that I've been before. People come and go, and there's always more than four empty tables, including the shared one in the middle.

Perhaps it's the coffee? Imo they're acceptable, though. Plus, it's not that pricey compared to the others. I am not that choosy on my coffee though; as long as the chair is comfy and I can use the Wi-Fi, I'm seated, hahaha.

12/11/2022 • A month worth of life update, apparently. 2022 is nearly ended! And I finally left my old teaching job! I cannot believe it happened this year; I thought I have to wait until the next one. Now, I'm a content writer, yay!

However, since I have to move out of the town, I need to rent a room, and the housing that I now live in doesn't feel right to me :/ I really want to move out after three months (because I already paid for the lease for three months), and before January, I will still stuck here. So, since I don't want to carry to many things later, I have to bear with a half-empty room (I don't even have a table or chair in it, lol).

With a proper working schedule, I plan to slip in some Mandarin study, because I've neglected it since May. Yet, with my current condition, I'll try my best to bear with studying on the bed…

Anyway, this condition doesn't make me feel too sad, because my new office is nice! We got a fridge full of snack every day, and the job itself is pretty chill, and the co-workers are also nice. I think I'll be here for a long time lol.

These are photos that I took when I took a train ride from my hometown, and the last one is a photo from a local cafe I went to after three days wandering around in this new city :D

Last month I posted this on twitter; I ranted about my friend, who asked me to hang out with her, but then she was in her phone all the time… I mean, if it was work things or important things I would be okay, but I can see her screen (because she sat in front of me, and her phone was on the table) and she was scrolling twitter… I was like, what.

So I attempted to rant in mandarin lol because 1) I get to rant without her knowing what I mean, and 2) I get to study mandarin. It's a win-win situation. Therefore, this is the sentences that I managed to do!

今天我和我的朋友出去玩了，可是她老玩手机…为什么你要会了我… 我能做我的work 我能做我的unfinished fic 可是我去和你… 为什么你不能respect谁的时候？😐

What I wanted to say: Today I went hangout with my friend, but she played with her phone all the time. Why do you want to meet me then... I can do my work, I can do my unfinished fics, but I went with you instead. Why can't you respect someone's time?

出去玩 "to hang out" 老 "old", but also can be used as "always" or "all the time" 手机 "cell phone"

I'm pretty happy with the result lol. Still, please kindly point out the errors and if something should be worded differently :D

I went to a local art and stationery shop today and I bought a bunch of stickers! I debated myself for a long time in front of the note book section, fortunately my impulsive thought didn't win so I didn't buy yet another note book that I won't use in the near future (because I still have two empty ones).

Today is also payroll day, so I'm happy!

My sister was here to meet up with her friends, and while they were away, I spent a nice four hours in a local mall's coffee shop, finishing my current reading. It was the Lunar New Year and of course the mall held some kind of event to celebrate it. I was on the second floor, so I could see the performance clearly from above. Before this lion and dragon dance, there was a fashion show too. After this dance, there were children showing their singing skill. It was so festive that day.

Happy December! Time flies too fast, it's the end of the year already. November has been… interesting, I'd say. Aside from my new job, I've met my old friends in this town and learned how much things have changed while I wasn't here. Hopefully December won't be less interesting, lmao.

Also, I began December with attending the last screening of a movie that is very dear to me. It was screened in a film festival, and the director personally said that yesterday would be the last time that movie will come up on big screen. I wonder (and the whole fandom too) when they will put the movie in the online platform.

Today's to-do list:

Pick up the laundry

Finish an article

Read more pages of Tai Sui
