What are your ships for Batim? :D

VERY GOOD QUESTION- I know my answer should be rather straightforward but I feel I have to put some context to my answers since they may seem contradictory/paradoxical otherwise, so bear with me-

Sammy x Norman : Well. I think that one was pretty obvious, anyone who's seen more than 3 of my posts knows that I'd die for these two. They're just so PERFECT for each other, from their complementary personalities to the fact that their relationship allows us to delve deeper into batim's historical and social context. Sammy and Norman have one of the few relationships that develop the most during the game's lore : Norman originally complains vehemently about Sammy's frenetic behavior, only to end up lamenting to Buddy and Dot how 'Sammy isn't the same anymore'. What's interesting about this statement is that he says it in relation to Sammy's strange behavior : clearly, the two men have grown close enough for Norman to differentiate Sammy's extravagant habits from his ink-influenced behavior.

Furthermore, Sammy is a very gray character morally, a perfectionist who is extremely socially maladjusted (surely due to the fact that he's coded on the spectrum and autism wasn't properly diagnosed at the time), naturally ostracizing him. For his part, Norman comes from a rural background (which surely earns him the animosity of the people at the studio, given the historical context and the fact that he could very well be poc) and also seems ill at ease socially : to me, it's fascinating to see two characters excluded from their peers because of differences they can't change (being autistic or poc and gay) getting closer to each other, to the point where Sammy, who is deeply misanthropic, naturally compliments Norman by describing him as very bright. To me, Norman is the perfect partner for Sammy : ready to apprehend him as he is, since he's completely free of social conventions, without taking any shits from him.

I think Sammy and Norman can really get the best out of each other, during a historical period when being different was strongly proscribed. I think I'd have trouble enjoying Batim as much without their dynamic at its heart (considering how narratively rich it is) : Norman is Henry's confidant, Sammy is Joey's, both remain morally gray deuteragonists fundamentally opposed to the ink machine, while remaining fascinated by its powers. And who wouldn't love a good old enemies to lovers ending tragically with the unwitting murder of one by the other ? After all, Norman's main flaw is that he's too curious for his own good, and it was Sammy who inevitably led him to his doom..

Allison x Tom : what more can I add. She's everything. He's just Tom. I've always been drawn to characters/ships with a vibe completely opposite to the vibe of the work they originally came from, and the 'turning poison into positivity' energy that Tom and Allison bring to Batim has always fascinated me. In a world as tragic as their own, I find it touching to see these two find beauty in all the ugliness and manage to ask themselves 'what if we were happy after all ?' It's really striking and brings a narrative richness to the work, since they directly mirror what failed with Sammy and Susie : Allison is perfect, but that was never what was at stake in Tom's eyes. Tom was looking for humanity, not perfection, and he managed to go beyond the image of the muse to discover a friend, unlike Sammy with Susie. They're literally Romeo and Juliet but, well... Not dead.

Joey x Henry/Henry x Linda : oh boy. These three... Let me get it straight right away : Henry and Linda are perfect for each other. She's exactly what he needs to be happy : she's present, patient. There's no denying that he loves her immensely. But Joey... oh Joey is undoubtedly Henry's soul mate. The subtlety is that Joey can't bring him the stable happiness Linda can : Joey tugs at him, pushes him over the edge. He knows exactly what to do to push him beyond his own limits. The love Joey offers Henry is an uncomfortable but unconditional one, one that would allow Henry to go beyond what he thinks he's capable of achieving because no one knows Henry better than Joey ! And let's be honest, Batim only exists because Joey refuses to move on, to live his dream without Henry in it. He's stuck in unrequited love and refuses to learn to live with it. And that's the tragedy of this trio : Henry sincerely loves Linda but is truly himself with Joey, which prevents him from hating OR loving him (And Joey exploits this information by remaining extremely toxic and convincing himself that he can wear him down lmao). Henry is stuck with this dilemma : Existing peacefully with Linda or living painfully with Joey. And that's why I love the dynamic of this love triangle : because there are no solutions that will satisfy everyone.

Joey x Sammy : okay, don’t get me wrong : these two are HORRIBLE for each other. Does Sammy periodically want to quit just to piss Joey off? Yes. Isn't Joey's fascination with Sammy intimately tied to his refusal to forget Henry, who was a genius like Sammy? Yes. Nevertheless, it's impossible for me to read The Illusion of Living without feeling embarrassed and like I'm reading Joey's diary : whether you ship them or not, Joey is practically canonically smitten with Sammy. I sincerely don't think Joey and Sammy can sustain a healthy relationship with each other, but oh boy, surely that won't stop me from exploiting their bizarre obsessive love-hate relationship, where it's hard to determine whether they're going to throw hands or make out.

Do you have specific fiction authors that you like to read? What aspects of a story make you want to really dig your fingers in it? Is it horror?

I’ve got a couple! Keigo Higashino for sure. anything Naoki Urasawa does: I will be reading it. Priest (Guardian and Mo Du are all time favorites). also KJ Charles and Andrew A Smith!

ngl I don’t really have a concrete list of favorite fiction writers, I spent several days thinking about this one: like, I have favorite books for sure, but I don’t often find myself considering an author to be a favorite just because their book blew my mind. I’ve only read three of Andrew A Smith’s works, but he’s here because he gave an interview years that changed my entire approach to storytelling, and I still revisit it whenever I start editing a story.

honestly the big thing is that I like character!! I like compelling characters (extremely varied definition of compelling, it doesn’t have to be much, but it does have to have something) I like it when something goes full throttle into whatever it wants to be. I’ll watch a slow paced slice of life romance with the same amount of enthusiasm that I had for Devil Judge, and the 1vs10 beat down in Ipman takes up just as much space in my brain as the ‘let’s not see each other from now on,’ breakup in the Heirs (but for extremely different reasons lmao)

however. if I have to pick something more thematically specific: I like seeing people in power get what they have coming to them, I like explorations and confrontations of political and social injustices. kingdom is one of my favorite shows, and the horror is great, but it was the political-class-power aspect of it that solidified it as a memorable watch to me. kamen rider build did something fundamental to the circuitry of my brain. etc.

#honestly if you give me imperial Japanese soldiers getting brutally taken apart I’ll eat that shit up #but mostly I like seeing people rail against oppressors and people in power and so forth #I also love junk food romances lmao I had an alert on my phone for dinosaur love and I’m not kidding about that one #idk. One take I’ve seen which sort of annoys me is this idea that if Jonathan really wanted to leave the show after Sebastian died, he could’ve just told Cam so & then he would’ve been free to live his life as he saw fit. Beyond the fact that we know he did tell Cameron he wanted to stop performing, or at least that he voiced some kind of protest about performing certain shows (from the final episode, Transposition), there’s the point that it’s really fucking difficult to say no to the people you care about.

From this scene alone we know that Cam had to talk Johnny into continuing to perform after their father passed; it’s obvious that Johnny values his freedom, though, so why did he ever agree to it? Primarily, because his brother asked him to, and he loves Cameron more than he wants to be free (this is true, at least, at the beginning of the show). It’s not as simple as just saying “No”. If that’s the line of logic we’re following, then Jonathan can’t carry any blame for asking Dina to retrieve the files that the FBI were hiding — she simply could’ve refused, right? Cameron, at the very least (and I do mean very least, because their father treated him like shit), got to go out and connect with people as himself. Johnny only ever had Cameron, so to deny his brother anything must’ve seemed impossible. I don’t want to start speculating about how that conversation must’ve gone because it’s counterintuitive to the point I’m trying to make, but I just think this idea (that all Jonathan had to do is tell Cameron he didn’t want to perform) is reductive, and also does a massive disservice to the really complex character dynamics at play in the show

#to be clear: Jonathan was wrong for putting Dina in that position. and Cameron was wrong for putting Johnny in THAT position #I’ve only recently joined the fandom but I feel like some of you guys are scared of Cameron being at fault for certain things #it’s ok if a character has flaws! and I mean flaws that hurt other people and not just themselves #characters are so much more interesting to me when they do shitty stuff sometimes #that’s why I loved cam when I was watching the show. he’s inherently a good person but I think he’s a bit naive when it comes to Johnny’s #relationship with their father & Johnny’s version of their childhood and that is !!!! so!!!!!!!! fascinating!!!!!!#I love cam all the more for it!!! but then I got into the fandom and everyone’s so intent on villifying the SHIT out of Johnny 😭#not to say that they’re absolutely and completely wrong but like. context matters. please analyze his side of things as deeply as Cameron’s #jonathan black #cameron black #sorry for the ramble. i think the hardest part of writing this ttid chapter is trying to balance out describing all the physical effects of jet's death with the emotional progression of the story. like i want to make all his obvious symptoms and changes and disabilities and struggles clear because theres a LOT hes dealing with and adjusting to, but at the same time this chapter is from partys pov and so a lot of it focuses on how theyre perceiving jet as he struggles and readjusts and heals. and its a really delicate balance ive gotta strike between descriptions and internal dialogue/introspection here bc i dont want chunks of the chapter to just be Listening Everything "Wrong" With Jet, but at the same time it cant just all be party freaking out and wallowing because there is a Point to this chapter that cant just be jumped into but also can't take tooo long to get to and i just.

its very much a chapter that needs to be written in chunks because i need to be in the write headspace to strike the right balance for all the different scenes i have planned. its taking forever because the writing mood for one chunk doesnt exactly translate well into the others

I’ve been goin thru a steven universe rewatch since last week and… wow. Wow this show is revolutionary for queer voices. It was eye opening seeing everything unfold again.

It’s been wonderful experiencing the show with fresh eyes. I started the show, saw the premiere of the show, followed it and finished it while I was still closeted and bigoted. I saw the reveal of Garnet being a fusion, being love, and was initially disgusted and disappointed because I was TAUGHT to be disgusted and disappointed.

The residual bigotry flares up at times… but it’s not me anymore. Well it is, but it’s like.. the MEMORY of me seeing that moment through my old eyes. I do my best to not feel shame, but to understand and forgive myself and enjoy creating a new experience watching SU.

now that I’m (somewhat) open, I’ve been able to enjoy the show and appreciate how much it’s done for queer voices since. I… saw Ruby and Sapphire’s wedding for the first time, I saw it— not with my hands barely covering my eyes. What a triumph that this show inspired others to let queer ppl share their stories, experiences, hopes, fears, love, without shame! Steven Universe isn’t perfection— it’s flawed, beautifully flawed, like the people who made it, the people who watch it, and the characters in it. If the road it paved wasn’t perfect, then all the better for newer voices, newer stories to be like, that limestone thingy in roman rock to reinforce it. To make it better. to make like, longer gay roads! pff shit I think I was trying to be poetic and metaphorical or something, but I hope my point came across. I just have big feelings right now. I didn’t realize what SU did for this lil baby queer. It’s so inspiring

the parallels between bruno and isabela

(an analysis absolutely no one asked for)

in one of the official encanto books it was said that bruno had been the golden child of his generation before becoming the exiled outcast. i like to think about how sad this is especially when you consider the parallels with isabela, the current golden child of the family. and i think it makes a lot of sense as bruno is the spitting image of pedro, much like isabela is the spitting image of a young alma, therefore i think alma saw pedro in bruno the same way she sees herself in isabela.

and this was very much a double edged sword, as while it meant he was the golden child and the favorite, it also meant that alma was very hard on him, especially when he showed to be not like pedro. i think everyone kind of resented bruno for this reason because he was alma’s perfect golden child and everything he said came true. so he grew used to being blamed for everything because he took his golden child status in stride, and i think he and pepa had a similar dynamic to isa and mirabel.

when he had his last vision, he felt like a failure, because he was so used to being blamed for everything that he truly believed that if he had a vision of the miracle dying, it was his fault. he knew how hard alma was on him, and so he couldn’t face her after he had that vision. so he decided to just disappear. when he exiled himself into the walls it was like he was finally shedding his golden child status, as there was no one around to tell him who to be or what to do, just him and his rats.

bruno leaving truly broke alma. not only because it felt like a betrayal of his golden child status, but also because she had projected pedro’s personality on him so much that by losing bruno, it felt as if she’d lost pedro all over again. and in a way, she had, as bruno’s disappearance was confirmation that bruno was his own person and not just a replacement for pedro, and she didn’t like that.

the same thing happened with isabela. she was the favorite, the perfect golden child. the more she grew to look almost exactly like young alma, the more alma projected herself onto her. and just as with bruno, this proved to be a double edged sword. as while isabela was the golden child and favorite, it also meant that alma was hard on her. alma tried to shape isabela into a perfect version of herself, everything she wanted to be when she was younger, but she also projected her own insecurities onto her and was as hard on isabela as she was on herself, especially when she showed to be like the parts of alma she didn’t like about herself.

when isabela broke free from alma’s perfect projection and started actually being herself, it hurt alma because it once again reminded her of the things she didn’t like about herself, and by isabela not being the perfect golden child, not only was it conformation that isabela was her own person and not just an extension of alma, but it was also a reminder to alma that she herself wasn’t perfect. in losing bruno, she lost pedro, and in isabela’s failure to be perfect, she saw a failure of her own.

isabela’s line in wdtab says a lot about this. firstly, she’s the only one to get a positive vision, which shows not only how kind and caring bruno is to go out of his way to tell only the good things to his niece, but i think also shows how he relates to her and sees himself in her. he was the golden child, he knows what it’s like to be put on a pedestal and the pressures and expectations that come with it, and he sees the way alma puts isa on a pedestal and projects onto her just like she did with him, so he makes sure to only tell her the good things to ease the pressure, because he doesn’t want isa to end up the way he did.

i also think the wording is important: “he told me that the life of my dreams would be promised and someday be mine.” he doesn’t just promise her a perfect life, but specifically the life of her dreams. which is kind of sad and ironic at this point in the movie, because to everyone else, it seems as if the prophecy has come true. her life seems perfect. however, it isn’t the life of her dreams. as perfect as her life may seem, it’s not what she wants at all, so the prophecy has not come true yet. when isa breaks free from alma’s mold, her life no longer seems perfect, but she’s finally living the life of her dreams, doing what she wants. the prophecy has finally come true.

i like to think that bruno would be so proud to come back to the family and see how isa has broken from alma’s projection and is finally doing what she wants, and learned to be herself, and happy to see that his prophecy came true and she didn’t end up like him.

pre-hermitcraft grian (the reason he's a watcher)

WARNING: TW BULLYING MENTIONS! I haven't watched the entire YHS (how is one even capable of doing that) and I'm only in the process of wathcing the EVO series. this is a pure fanon-ish speculation about c!Grian based on some visible facts in these series/other videos. I don't mean to offence fans of other creators mentioned here! also, Grian is a grown man and (I'm sure) he is able to manage his social life as he wants. this is just a contribution to the lore that I wholeheartedly love.

now, let me begin by saying:

I'm terrified of Yandere High School. I feel too bad for Grian.

he had been a target for awful and hurtful jokes from his first YHS entry. you can sense the same dynamic in pretty much every interaction of Sam, Taurtis and Grian: 1. Sam is always in the position of the most attractive, the most the powerful, the most popular. Whoever and whatever he wants -- girls or attention -- he'll get everything, just because he's the Sam Gladiator, the protagonist, the hero. No one is allowed to steal his spotlight even for a slight second. He'll do anything to keep his throne. 2. Taurtis is pretty much Sam's silent side-kick. He's always around; as a side-kick, he always gets the girls and whatever, but only if Sam is indifferent. While Sam is leading the action, Taurtis is needed to support whatever joke/discussion is going on.

3. Grian is… a friend -- formally, but a whipping boy -- in fact. He is accepted into this trio, but never gets to be in the role of an 'equal'. I've watched several 20-30min long episodes, and there is no kind or even neutral attitude to Grian. Your appearance sucks, your jokes are stupid, you are ridiculous, you do everything wrong, you're not allowed to be with these girls because they're mine, you're not allowed to do this and that becuase only I am.

and this is. every. single. freaking. episode. of. YHS. I've. seen.

these are not silly hermitcraft jokes, this is pure shit.

I have a few ideas to speak about at this point.

-- this is where it all started. the social experience Grian got from YHS affected many situations in the future, I'll write about this below. -- Taurtis became a close friend for (c!)Grian not nesessary because he was a good friend. but he wasn't bullying him direclty. he was only ment to watch. so they got close -- because Taurtis was somewhat respective of his boundaries. and, between Sam and Taurtis, the obvious 'good' was the latter.

-- the Grian's lesson from this was: be powerful. do not let them push you down. be in charge. and -- he invented his own method for it.

the EVO series was the desired spotlight for Grian and his opportunity to be The Chosen One.

in the first episodes, Grian mentioned several things:

as he mentioned in the e1 of EVO and e1s6 of HC, the EVO was his comfort zone since the first versions of Minecraft were truly his element (unlike for Netty or Jimmy Solidarity, who Grian said would die a lot (LMAO)).

he was actively looking for the weakest people on the server. he made a trap near the spawn (what made it unintentionally unescabaple) first -- because he wanted to see who wouldn't be able to resist the temptation.

--but it was not a YHS case from the very beginning. Grian let viewers know that rudeness and bullying others is unacceptable, and the participants are all good friends that are aware of pranks being silly jokes.

so he wanted to be in charge, from my point of view it was traumatic for him not to be -- and then he always tried to be sure he won't harm anyone.

but at this point, as watchers noticed him, becoming one was inevitable.

he was the perfect one for being a watcher. he analyzes people around him, he uses traps and tricks to find their vulnerabilities, and then he uses their vulnerablilities to his emotional needs. gently, in a human-like way; but Sam forged him the way watchers needed, and they happily accepted the broken being of Grian.

and you know who put Grian down on earth, made him stay?

Mumbo.

the EVO series started after the first collab of Mumbo and Grian and not long before the second (build swap). the behaviour I described in my beloved post about the first collab, the irritation and passive agression from Grian could also be the effect from YHS. Grian expects the worst from the unknown: he tries to build his social comfort zone boundaries and never cross them when it's unnecessary. he's anxious, he's learned his lesson -- do not trust, do not be weak, that's why he had to react so harshly, and yet-- mumbo managed to soften him. he treated him like not a single friend did before: he was sparkling with happiness and joy from every build Grian had, from every time they met. Mumbo adored him from the first sight of Grian's creations, and the first thing Mumbo said after seeing Grian's re-build was that he wants Grian's builds on HC. and -- as I can assume -- it was grumbo's friendship that made Grian change his decision and join Hermitcraft after all. as he mentioned in s6e1, he recieved plenty of invitations on the server but declined every time before s6. but then, he finally got a friend.

the best one.

after Grian joined, he couldn't help himself anymore, he couldn't hold back -- he needed being around Mumbo. pranks transformed from being a weapon to being the reason to... visit Mumbo's base and be around a little bit longer. in s6, after Mumbo's irl trip to Italy (sorry for breaking the 4th wall), Grian sincerely told him that he missed him very much and his favorite activity was just being around.

Grian became a watcher at the end of EVO, ~ 11 of September, 2018. at this time, he had already joined HC. so... it can be said that Mumbo saved him from turning into a cruel creature, from falling into the void of his past.

Mumbo saved him. And Grian stayed.

and the final note, to break you all completely.

do you know when did the first iteration of the watchers' deathloop, 3rd life, happened?

after Mumbo had lost the election for mayor, turned to Scar's side, and they stopped keeping in touch.

THOUGHTS AND LAYERS

i spent literally an hour analyzing this trailer at 0.5 speed. this post is long af and these thoughts are in no particular order and are poorly organized:

-there's a big storm (which I think was already confirmed), and ed gets swept overboard by a bucket on a rope:

he then crawls up out of the water onto the beach

then goes into the forest, creates a hut, has a journey of healing and self-discovery, meets hornigold (or his ghost??)

and kills him thus killing the part of himself that he hated the most (his violence) as a parallel to stede finally getting rid of nigel's ghost by accepting and believing in himself

-in the stede/ed split screen, the stede shot is from the first ep of s2 right after stede finds the marooned crew at the end of ep 10 in s1 (you can tell bc his hair and clothes are still clean, there's no gay bandana around his neck, and that's his lil dinghy buttons is rowing)

-they go to shore and wind up at the merchants shop where "susan" overhears they're tracking down blackbeard

and she invites stede's crew onto her ship, cue the outfit change in the BTS photos:

-the way stede makes that little swishy turn in the red coat -

makes me think this may be first time he's been in fine clothes since his "death" and i hope we get a moment of him reflecting on how he gave up everything for ed only to have him hate him :( but then obviously realizing that ed is worth it and he'd do it all again in a heartbeat if it meant getting a chance at spending the rest of his life with him

-izzy and stede team up, and izzy is clearly training either himself or stede on the revenge (?)

soooooo many questions: what caused him to leave ed and join stede's crew? is he fighting with ed and is training to take him out or is he just done having his love be unrequited so he leaves and just so happens to stumble into stede? is izzy thinking that if he can't cut out the longing he has for ed he has to kill him instead so the pain will go away? what, pray tell, the fuck is going on in here on this day

-wee john in the mermaid costume (and olu in a bunny or donkey costume?):

a fuckery? or just a weird acid trip? OR IS IT THE TALENT SHOW THEY NEVER GOT TO HAVE??

-ed really does force everyone on his crew to wear war paint

-all the tally marks scratched into the walls - is that the number of days since stede bonnet broke ed's heart?

-ed in the forest in PEARL NECKLACE HELLOW????????

-the tear in ed's eye as he moves the cake toppers closer together which he also painted to make the lady look more like him he literlaly is in love wiht stede so bad wht the FUCJ

-ed's crew is murdering SO MANY PEOPLE at the wedding wtf (pic not included bc scary)

-delusional moment but i hope anne bonny on stede's lap is looking at calico jack off screen

-stede and ed are running towards each other on the black sand beach (thank you @sluterastede for pointing this out to me wtf!!!!!!)

which evolves my theory that ed in the forest goes through his healing journey and realizes he wants to openly love stede again but then the navy attack and stede just so happens to have found ed at the same time and they're fighting to get to each other and taking out everyone in their way (what if that was okracoke lmao)

-the swede and spanish jackie hooking up in the trailer

makes me think the bts shot of ed and jackie is them looking at stede and the swede, and ed being SO in love with stede obvi but jackie is watching the swede do some weirdly hot shit so she's gotta have him (what if they got married and he became her umpteenth husband in a drunken vegas-like shotgun wedding where she wakes up the next day to realize what has happened lmao)

-also this pic is DEF from the reunited/make up era bc ed's half-up hair, no makeup, soft eyes, and buttons' clothing. i am weeping

-stede in pain - is it an injury or a tattoo? or torture as @sluterastede posits?? he looks down at his lower body before screaming so maybe he knows what's about to happen to him??

-side note about a LACK of something: ed isn't wearing the cravat at all in the trailer near as i can tell, and he's not wearing the pearl necklace when throwing knives at the wall (at least from what I can see, which is not much) which leads me to believe that scene is in the earlier part of the season

frank is by no mean a swiftie but after you introduced him to songs like, "the archer" and "this is me trying", our boy was converted into one. i feel like frank would be a nonchalant swiftie, he wouldn't follow what she was doing 24/7 and he wouldn't like obsess over what she's going to do next. frank is soooo speak now coded (i will not he taking any questions).

frank is at the eras tour for the vibes. he’ll sing along to the songs that he knows. he’s also the designated merch holder. he’d probably dress up as joe (the hat and the denim jacket, iykyk). i feel like he’d enjoy watching the film more than going to the concert because of the difference in atmospheres. however, he still has a great time at the concert.

grover underwood

grover is a evermore stan fr. he enjoys the nature aesthetic and vibe that evermore gives off. he talks shit to anyone who thinks that evermore is her worst album. he’s only at the concert to have a good time and isn’t stressing about the surprise songs or anything like that. however, he lost his shit when taylor opened evermore with "‘tis then damn season" and when she sang "tolerate it" (it’s his favorite song).

hazel levesque

initially, hazel wasn’t a swiftie but just because taylor didn’t exist during her time. but after piper and leo introduced her to her music, hazel was converted into a swiftie. she’s a fearless and speak now stan.

hazel would be too shy to scream or yell the lyrics with you but she’d happily lip sync along to the songs that she knows. her favorite part of the concert was dressing up. the two of you spend the whole night singing, dancing, and laughing with one another.

jason grace

jason is not a swiftie but he could be converted into one if you were. he’s a folkevermore stan fr. he also thoroughly enjoyed ttpd and ttpdta. like frank, he’s definitely a more nonchalant swiftie but he would enjoy listening to your rants and predictions on what she’s going to do next.

he would dress up as the heartbreak prince to your miss americana. he would try his hardest to learn all of the lyrics to her songs so that he could sing it with you but because her discography is so vast, he printed out sheets with the lyrics on them so that he could scream her lyrics with you. he’d definitely propose to you during “love story" (if the two of you were in the that stage in your relationship).

we all know that jason emits husband energy and is a natural gentleman. so after the concert you know that that man is carrying you out of there because your legs hurt from dancing and would immediately make you some tea when you get back if you lost your voice too. he would also go and get any merch that you wanted during the concert so that you wouldn’t miss anything. like frank, jason is also at the eras tour for the vibes but he still has a great time and is thankful that he gets to enjoy this experience with you!!!

leo valdez

leo's a swiftie fr. piper introduced him to her music and they listen to her new albums together. he excessively hates all of her ex-boyfriends that treated her poorly (joe j, john, jake, etc.). he’s also 100% red coded but i feel like he also likes 1989.

leo would go all out on his eras tour outfit. he would create a unique and funny outfit or he would go as lasik taylor. he would happily join in with singing/yelling the lyrics with you. he definitely fangirls at every single song change. his favorite song to sing is all too well (10 minute version). piper also teaches him all of the chants so that he can impress you.

nico di angelo

like hazel, nico wasn’t a swiftie at first because obviously, taylor didn’t exist during the era that he lived in. but after will and piper introduced him to her music, he got converted into a swiftie. he’s a folkevermore stan fr (but more evermore than folklore). at the concert, nico would be too shy to sing the songs and he’d probably lip sync along to the lyrics when he thinks no one’s looking. he’d dress up as the reputation era just so he could wear black. he got a bracelet from someone and now wears it every single day. like frank, he’d prefer to watch the film compared to going to the concert just because he’s scared of big crowds.

percy jackson

like annabeth, percy’s a closeted swiftie because he got bullied for listening to her when he was younger. percy is a 1989 and lover stan. he’s 100% a "me!" and "you need to calm down" lover. he also LOVES taylor’s ovulation songs. (false god, dress, i can see you, etc.).

he goes all out for his eras tour outfit and probably dresses up wearing an outfit that taylor wore once and expects everyone to know when she wore it. like leo, percy fan girls at every single song change and probably screams the lyrics to her songs louder than you do.

piper mclean

piper is a HUGE swiftie. she's a pop girlie so naturally, she's a 1989 stan. i headcanon that she's a hopeless romantic so she's also a reputation and lover stan. for the longest time, she didn't believe that taylor and joe broke up. (they could never make me hate you joe!!!) she absolutely lost it when taylor annoyed 1989 tv.

the two of you guys went all out for your eras tour outfits and would probably coordinate outfits or do a cute couples outfit. she definitely gets you guys tickets in the pit where the two of you spend the whole time dancing and singing/yelling the lyrics to every single song. piper knows every single chant too (1 2 3 lgb). the two of you spent months making friendship bracelets to trade with everyone and at the end of the night, you guys traded enough bracelets to the point that they go up to your elbows. she definitely experienced gay panic during the vigilante shit choreography.

reyna ramírez-arellano

reyna is SOO speak now coded (better than revenge 👀). she’s also a reputation stan. if kanye west has a million haters reyna is one of them. if he has one hater it’s her. if he has no haters, she’s dead. reyna avila ramírez-arellano hates kanye west with a passion.

reyna would dress up as the reputation era and would probably coordinate her outfit with nico. at first, reyna would be too shy to sing along to the songs but after you danced with her a few times she began to loosen up and she ended twirling you around and softly singing along with you.

will solace

will is obviously a debut and fearless stan. i feel like he prefers old taylor over new taylor but he's still a swifitie regardless. he definitely cried when he found out that taylor didn’t dedicate a section of songs for debut on the eras tour. he’d definitely wear a cowboy hat with his eras tour outfit. i feel like he wouldn’t yell the lyrics with you because he’d be scared he’d lose his voice but he’d happily sing along with you.
