On the ADHD demigods' stim habits (headcanon list)

Percy

He talks and mutters to himself a lot and he also paces around his cabin

Restless Leg(TM)

He used to chew on things a lot but adults told him that he was Not Allowed to bite pencils or shirt sleeves or paper or anything so his outlet is mostly snacks, chewy candy is the best for this

Someone get him a seashell chewy necklace please

Oh you know what they should have stim toys at the CHB gift shop for all the ADHD kiddos

He also probably cracks his knuckles and joints a lot

He hums when there's a song stuck in his head and it's really annoying but he can't really stop it cause he doesn't notice until someone gets mad at him and then hes like ??

Annabeth

Annabeth tends to chew up her pencils a lot

She also compulsively daydreams and builds designs of buildings in her head and reviews lists of stuff she wants to remember

She finds herself doing random math while she's supposed to be paying attention. Like if someone is telling her something and her brain drifts off more often than not she's looking at something around and being like "let me just calculate how many bricks are probably in that stack over there" or "hmm i wonder how many gallons of water are in the canoe lake"

She also gets distracted if there's any other social interactions of people around her and she just people watches and makes inferences about what people are feeling and whats going on in their lives

Also she chews her hair and sometimes puts little braids in it

She picks at her skin too a lot and sometimes pulls out strands of hair

Piper

Piper flaps her hands a lot especially when she's excited

She flips and braids her hair too

If she has feathers on her she will sometimes take it out if she's bored and either preen it with her fingers or use it to tickle someone to annoy them

She sings a lot but mostly to herself and sometimes she can be heard humming or softly singing without noticing

If she has any kind of paper available, like notebook paper or napkins or maybe candy or gum wrappers, sometimes she'll make little origami things

She also picks at her nails quite a bit

Leo

Leo has the most stims that he's unable to mask, as we know already.

He taps on surfaces and messes with his clothing a lot

He also whistles sometimes which can get annoying to people around him so he tries not to do that but if he's alone or really concentrating on something he will

He will also play with pretty much anything he finds on the ground like paper clips and those office clamp things and he'll take apart mechanical pencils and pens and put them back together and if he finds a tack or a safety pin or something there's a 90 percent chance he'll stab it through the skin of his finger(s)

If he's outside he'll pick up leaves and flowers and shred them or pick up sticks and break them

He was also probably one of those kids who would put glue on his hands so he could peel it off

Jason

i wasnt sure if Jason had ADHD but I looked it up and it said he did so oh well lol

Hes like. Freakily good at masking stims and it kinda creeps everyone out especially the CHB demigods

BUT he still has them

He have the restless leg

He also does like random stretching sometimes

When he's standing in one place for a while he kinda stands on one leg or bounces his heels

Sometimes he'll pick up objects from the ground or something and play with it like Leo does, especially if he's outside and there's like rocks or something

He does a similar thing to Annabeth too but instead of math he'll try to identify any animal noises or animals he sees like birds in the sky or like if he hears a dog bark he'll try to figure out what kind of dog

Hazel

Hazel's stims are the least obvious but they are definitely there.

If she has a view of outside she will gaze out of the window or look around her and figure out how many types of trees or whatever that she can see

She will also mess with the seams or edges of her clothing

If she has paper around she'll draw horses or other animals or sometimes people or she'll practice her cursive letters and make them fancy

She picks at her skin and her hair as well

Frank

Frank does not have ADHD. He sits there quietly and everyone thinks hes weird. Sometimes he gets wiggly if he's nervous but otherwise nah

“And so like, they weren’t even just screaming, they were vocalising! Phonetically they were forming words, like there was cadence to it, y’know?!”

“Mh hm.” Jake nodded, nursing the coffee mug in his hand, watching the short woman pace back and forth across the kitchen, her own cup of tea completely forgotten and abandoned on the table like many others over the ages. Poor things.

“And- And the University of Wyoming studied the recordings for a year! And guess what!”

The man was an expert at this, and knew well the question was rhetorical, there wouldn’t be enough time to actually get a ‘What?’ in there. Instead, he widened his eyes a little as he took another sip of bitter coffee, waiting expectantly for the next revelation.

“They said the noises were from lungs that were larger in capacity than humans! And it was an actual deliberate language!” The huge grin, wide eyes and shaking of her hands marked the clear importance of the sentence, this was not a finding to be taken lightly.

“No way.”

Coming home from a late shift in the cab, Jake usually would’ve poured a glass of whiskey, kicked off his shoes, loosened his tie and claimed the couch to binge some shitty reality tv. Sue him, it was entertaining to be invested in drama that was less world ending over godly feuds and more Becky's boyfriend kissing her ex. If his girl came to sit beside him and let him use her thighs as a stress toy, it was the recipe for a perfect night.

When he came home tonight to see his beautiful girl practically bouncing on her toes, hands stimming, actively chewing back a smile and practically bursting at the seams with some hot info instead, how could he not walk over and get his fill? After all, she info-dumped with more passion than any gossip the Kardashians could give. As her man, it was his solemn duty to share her burdens, even if that burden was her excitement over some Bigfoot evidence from some random American woods.

“I also heard that the area the sounds were recorded historically had a lot of Chinese settlers- and the vocalisations have a large resemblance to Mandarin! I mean that, like, implies the Bigfoot community only either cropped up at that period or something but, like, it’s still insane I mean can you imagine we haven’t encountered Bigfoot yet because they all speak Chinese and can’t understand us?” How she spewed so much without taking a single breath was a mystery in and of itself, those crypto-whatsits oughta look into that.

“Who’s ‘we’, bebita? There’s only one American in this room and that’s me. Stop trying to steal my guy.”

“Your guy?” The smile on her face grew, adoring that he entertained her info-dumps and enamored with his cheek, “Since when did Bigfoot go to New York?”

The Latino shrugged, completely nonchalant as he drained the last of his coffee.

“When he calls my cab to take him there.” The curl of his lips betrayed his own amusement and the short woman giggled as she bounced into his lap, hands patting his shoulders.

Stimming was still a relatively new concept to Jake. To him, he understood it as needing to shake off big feelings, good or bad, before they drowned you. He could understand that, feelings were a fuckin’ lot even to him, and he didn’t have autism (no matter how much his amor tried to peer review him, he’d dodge those accusations like he dodged the Avengers).

Seeing her stim to him, with him, over him, that was intimate. That coiled into his very soul, snug and warm. Knowing her feelings for him were so strong, so intense she had to literally, physically, manage them before they made her heart explode? It was literally impossible for the thoughts in his head to try and do some self-sabotage. No one could tell him she didn’t love him, not even himself.

That wasn’t even accounting for the obvious fact that she felt safe enough to shake her heart around right in front of him, with that beautiful smile too. She’d kill him before any bullet or cultist ever could, and he’d accept it with open arms.

“You think that Mothman guy and Bigfoot are amigos? Think they’ve ever hooked up?”

The light in her eyes when he casually sprinkled her other hyper-fixation in there, always making a point of showing he remembered each and every detail of her spiels, could lead him out of the darkest black hole.

“You’re weird, Jake Lockley.” Her giggle was girlish, high pitched and sweet as honey, “They’re divorced, actually.”

On the subject of Plushie Dreadfuls (warning for anti-autistic ableism)

So, Plushie Dreadful’s most beloved plush; their Gender Dysphoria Rabbit; often makes the rounds on here! It looks like this:

A lot of people really love this design and the posts featuring it get a lot of notes!

Plushie Dreadfuls are a line of plushies based and themed off of a multitude of things. These things include gender and sexuality, emotions, and disorders. These designs are very cute and charming, which is why what I’m about to tell you is frustrating.

Plushie Dreadfuls, as the plushies can be based off of disorders, have a plushie for autism spectrum disorder. It looks like this!

(ID: a plush rabbit toy, a bag, and a blue pop-it stim toy against a white background. The bag is a tote bag, and it appears to say, ‘respect the full spectrum’, and ‘hope’. The pop-it is rabbit-shaped. The plush rabbit toy has a blue infinity symbol on its belly, and the insides of its ears have a checkered pattern. End ID.)

This is the Hope Rabbit! This rabbit is cute, and I have little to no issues with it in terms of design. The infinity symbol being blue wasn’t the best choice, but hey. I’m willing to go easy on that aspect because all Plushie Dreadful designs are made by people with direct experience, as it says via their website. This design was created by an actually autistic woman!

It’s in the official description of the plush where I find issues. First, they describe it as ‘for Autism Awareness Month’, which is a minor mistake that I can easily let slide. However, the official description of this item also states, quote, “10% of the proceeds go to the A.E. Wood Foundation when you purchase a Hope Rabbit from the Mysterious Shop.”

As much as one small Google search will tell you that A.E. Wood Foundation preforms autistic behavioral therapy. Autistic behavioral therapy is abuse and torture of autistic people, in order to make them act more ‘normal’. This is where the plushie’s use of the infinity symbol becomes infuriating. The infinity symbol is the symbol of autism acceptance. If they did research into it, they would know this. Autism acceptance; what the infinity symbol stands for; and ABA which forces autistic children to conform to allistic standards cannot coexist. They are opposites. After being informed of this, the company appears to have no intentions to stop funding.

“So what can I do?”

Boycott the Plushie Dreadfuls line.

Leave a review on the Hope Rabbit, letting the people who buy it and the sellers know what this organization does and what it supports!!

Plushie Dreadfuls has a Twitter too. Bring your issues with this up in the comments of this account’s posts!

Do not purchase anything from the American McGee company until this is resolved, especially and including the new Alice game.

Remember, our goal out to be to stop the donations to A.E. Wood! Not for the plush to be discontinued, nor to ‘cancel’ the brand. Let’s all be calm and civil.

That’s all! Again, I bring this all up due to the Gender Dysphoria Rabbit’s popularity. If you choose to shop at Plushie Dreadfuls despite this, please at least do not purchase the Hope Rabbit!

Update #1: We have a response from customer support! From what we can tell, Plushie Dreadfuls’ owner seems to support A.E. Wood and ABA therapy, and seems unwilling to reverse this decision so far. Perhaps if we all voice enough concern, we can change their minds?

Update #2: A perspective from someone who is familiar with the people behind the brand!

Update #3: We’re thinking that the only way to get the person behind the brand to listen is to boycott all properties connected to American McGee. Specifically, the new Alice game. This post has been edited to reflect this.

Update #4: All mentions of Autism Awareness Month seems to have been removed, and the foundation seems to have been removed from the description, and not replaced with anything. Whether or not this means that donations have stopped is unclear. Their Twitter also seemed to delete any Tweets about this plush.

Furthermore, this happened in the comments of the Hope Bunny YouTube video:

Everyone’s favorite store at the mall? 👀🛍️

Risotto: Large scale sports stores because nobody will bat an eyelid at his size (and only the more courageous clerks will try to assist him) and if he wants anything, he is sure to find something to fit him.

Formaggio: Toy stores for the fun factor like looking at novelty decks, juggling small items to amuse kids, or heckling parents who are too uptight to get dolls for their sons or robots for their daughters.

Prosciutto: Book stores, and he will spend all of his time skimming through whatever has caught his interest. He often gets through dozens of books before purchasing a single one to throw a bone.

Pesci: Newspaper kiosks so he can check whatever comics are available while also excitedly browsing newspapers and magazines for headlines that could be used as conversation starters later.

Ghiaccio: Shoe stores, and he usually sticks to the sports section there to inspect sneakers and trainers, stimming on the materials as he goes. Tends to line up and meticulously rank his best finds.

Melone: Stationery stores because he cannot resist novelty pens and crisp, clean notebooks. Always ends up buying something when he already has more than he will ever use (they make good gifts, so).

Illuso: Large scale clothing stores where there are plenty of mirrors to move about because it gives him space to disappear and he can put on a fashion show inside without having to wait for fitting rooms.

Sorbet: The home improvement store where he can fantasize about how his ideal home would look if he could afford it, and if he has company, he will do snarky reviews of random items for fun.

Gelato: The lottery booth, not just because he enjoys buying tickets but also because he loves to chat it up with folks trying their luck there and have a consolation drink after if they're down for it.

Omnomnom dehydrated apple chips are some of my favorite safe foods

Actually yk what I'll ramble about my sensory shit

So like I've loved spicy, bold flavours like hot cheetos, curry, buffalo wings, etc, and I'll never not accept them as a safe food.

Sometimes though my sensory needs just- change back and forth, like from "I will vomit if I eat avocado toast today" to "avocado toast is the only thing I will accept as breakfast today" which is I guess where audhd comes in. There are some foods that bypass all my shifting needs, like strawberries, dehydrated apples, hot cheetos, potato chips, and pasta (ESPECIALLY the bowties omg I love the bowtie pasta)

Aside from taste needs, sometimes I really REALLY need a tight hug, not because I'm having a rough day but just because my body really wants to be under pressure for like 4 seconds and then it's good, aND THEN IT SWITCHES TO "If my parents even just barely touch my hair I will die of the sudden itch and sometimes even pain"

Also florescent lights just kill me most of the time which is why I am very happy that most of my teachers don't have every light turned on in their classrooms

I need socks to walk anywhere around my house but I will have straight up insomnia if I wear them to sleep

I haven't ever gone fully non-verbal but when I talk I either have to repeat myself 4 times because of how quiet I'm mumbling, stutter too much to the point where I just restart my sentence after pausing, repeat a word when I didn't mean to (for example during a chapter review of Lord of the flies I said "Piggy and Piggy" instead of "Jack and Piggy" and I got laughed at D:) ORRRRR I NEED TO BE TOLD TO BE QUIETER BECAUSE I'M RAMBLING TOOFASTANDLOUDDD

I have two special interests: my OC lore, and Genshin Impact. My childhood special interest was- also my old OC lore (7 year old me had the amazing and magical story, ever so creatively named "the enchanted forest") that went on for like 4-5 years where I would always want to talk about it and think about it to sleep, aaaaaand My Little Pony (I'VE REWATCHED MLP AND NINJAGO BOTH LIKE AT LEAST 8 TIMES but I wouln't call Ninjago a special interest bc it was more of an on and off obsession-)

I do also have hyperfixations ofc and they usually last up to 2 months, pretty sure that lines up with the statistical average idk

Also sometimes I just need to- punch something with full force. I never get to though and Ik it'd feel great (I did throw a pillow like 5 times in a call with my friend when I was hyper though so like... I've been able to get that excitement out-)

I'm sometimes really slow or just straight up zone out mid-conversation which is frustrating on both ends

I have a wide and advanced vocabulary for my age but [read the prior paragraph on talking], I usually don't get to use it to it's full potential because of that issue .-.

(I just realized this whole rant about my stuff is gonna be perfect for if I can ever actually get diagnosed by someone yayyy)

Mom told me that as a 1-3 year old I never really played with my toys but just lined them up either by size or color (yk those like- tower thingies with the rings of differing sizes and colors? I always ordered them correctly just out of the need for it to look right)

When I was 5 this girl in Kindergarten had a sling on but it was a fancy bedazzled sling so I really wanted to feel the gems but she wouldn't let me and I got sad :(

I've always loved swings and those like- spider web climbing equipment, still do just because I like rocking around and being able to stretch and hang and maneuver around the differently angled bars/ropes on the spider web thing (SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THEY'RE ACTUALLY CALLED)

I also have this like- neck shaking and hand flapping tic/stim, sometimes it's uncontrollable sometimes it's a controllable urge, and when it's a tic it sometimes hurts or is just straight up excessive

Okay my mind is going blank now so buhbye this was super long if anyone read all of that- kudos to you, Idk why you would subject yourself to reading it all ok BYEEE

IVE BEEN PREPARING FOR THIS MOMENT MY WHOLE LIFE

HARMONY:

Nonbinary and kinda indifferent on their gender. Goes by She/They. Doesn't really care if you use other pronouns for them tho.

Aromantic and a lesbian. Is still ok with labeling a relationship as dating even if she doesn't experience romantic love the same way as other people.

Autistic, and doesn't always function super well as an adult on her own. But she's doing her best.

Collects stuffed animals and small toys.

Likes cute things, but some people would label their definition of cute as weird.

Loves bright colors. Crank that saturation up!

Very blunt.

Gets along pretty well with her bandmates. They aren't SUPER close but they are friends.

Knows she is different. Doesn't care. It probably used to bother them more when they were younger, but now she has come to terms with it.

House is very messy.

People are just drawn to her, she doesn't particularly like it.

A lot of people think that because she is blunt and speaks her mind that she doesn't ever lie and take everything she says at face value. He is very capable of lying and will do so for various reasons if needed. Or sometimes just cuz spreading misinformation is funny. Will tell you the sky is bright green with no hesitation and a deadpan expression.

Depressed. Is on medication for it and handles it ok ish...

Video game addict. You can usually find her at home in her pajamas playing some new game surrounded by empty instant ramen cups.

Mostly enjoys creative or cute games like pokemon, animal crossing, or minecraft. Doesn't play them often, but she is the absolute best at fighting games. Could beat anyone blindfolded. Is good at a lot of hard games, but doesn't really like that kind of stuff.

Plays a lot of things as they come out and probably has a blog where she reviews them.

Knows every skip and speedrun strat ever.

Likes platformers, especially 2d ones.

Collects old nintendo consoles/games.

Stims a lot with any object nearby. Likes to play with her bracelets a lot. Will just pick up random things and fidget with them.

Seems to be tired a lot, has bags under her eyes. Stays up late a lot but doesn't mind the lack of energy.

Very clumsy and has poor motor controls for a lot of things. Has to take frequent breaks when playing games or music. Gets hurt a lot bumping into random objects.

Issues with her wrists have been a problem for most of her life due to her hobbies, and she is surprisingly good at taking care of them nowadays. Used to not care but then some serious injuries happened and she realized she couldn't afford to do that.

DEDF1SH:

Bigender! He/She/They probably. Would maybe be open to neos if he found the right ones.

Demiromantic, Bi, and Asexual. Both Acht and Harmony are aspec(not for any reason what no i'm not biased as an aroace person noooo-)

When first getting out of the metro he was VERY malnourished and had a hard time eating food. He has a lot of texture issues and finds most foods unbearable to put in her mouth.

Has since gained her weight back and is looking more healthy.

Is very sensitive to sunlight, and burns very easily even in normal weather with minimal exposure. This is part of the reason she spends so much time alone indoors.

Eyes are also very sensitive to light after being sanitized and living in the deep for so long. This is why he wears sunglasses everywhere.

Is also autistic like harmony. (again, as an autistic person i am in no way biased towards headcanoning characters as autistic ok?) Is sensitive to sounds and wears noise canceling headphones a lot.

Goes nonverbal if overstimulated.

Doesn't talk that much, is more the type to say as few words as possible to get their sentence across.

Likes eating cereal with no milk. It's one of their favorite snacks.

LOVES fruit. They are that meme of the person covered in mango juice.

Just like harmony, his face isn't very expressive. But while harmony always looks like she's daydreaming, Acht often looks angry. This is especially true when she has her glasses on since you can't see her eyes.

Really likes fashion. Likes very femme alternative stuff specifically.

Is already naturally tall, and wears heels everywhere. Towers over most other octolings/inklings.

There are many lasting effects from the sanitization. Including physical and mental symptoms. Acht is slowly recovering tho!

Can play piano, just doesn't. Doesn't remember where they learned to, but it makes them feel slightly sad to play it.

Has amnesia due to the sanitization. Can remember things like skills, but not where they learned them or from who. Doesn't remember much of her past. Doesn't remember much family or friends either. Can picture some blurry faces, but not names or how they knew each other.

Tartar told her about her decision to be sanitized, and she has no choice but to have taken his word for why she decided to due so as she has no memory of it.

Has a hard time adjusting to life on the surface.

Has some trauma surrounding medical equipment, and doesn't like to go to doctors.

I've always Acht having known Marina before coming to the surface, but with Side Order confirming they know each other somehow i will wait to flesh that out until we get more info.

Is confident and somewhat social(especially compared to Harmony) but needs a lot of time to recharge their batteries after being around others.

ParuF1sh:

They both like to make music, and often make silly little songs together. Acht likes to take whatever Harmony hums and turn it into short songs.

Both of them don't sleep much. Harmony doesn't like to because she prefers to spend her time on hobbies n such instead. She also has insomnia, but since she doesn't like sleeping it doesn't really bother her TOO much. Acht on the other hand has issues sleeping due to frequent nightmares. She ends up having terrifying nightmares of her time with tartar or things she can't fully remember from before she was sanitized. Harmony is always there to comfort him when he wakes up sweating and frightened.

Both of them are very picky about food and so their pantries end up being stuffed with lots of their prefered safe foods.

Acht tries to push himself to leave his apartment in splatsville from time to time to avoid being totally disconnected from the world because that's what she did when she first got to the surface and it made her very depressed. On one of those trips Acht ended up visiting Hotlantis because he was just exploring various shops. He really liked the vibes of the shop and the wide variety of items that rotated frequently had him coming back. This is where the two of them first met.

At first Harmony and Acht didn't even notice each other despite Acht becoming a regular to come buy and look at weird little items. But eventually after having to check Acht out so many times she finally started to pay attention to what Acht was buying and noticed they had similar tastes. Then one day Harmony struck up a conversation with Acht and they became friends from there.

I think they are both poly and wouldn't mind if their partner dated someone else. But neither of them have another partner right now.

While they both may struggle with a lot of things they help each other out and manage to get through life ok.

It took a bit for Acht to get back to making music after getting out of the metro.

They like to watch ghibli movies while cuddling for a lot of their dates. They will watch all of them and then just start over with the first one again. I think the movies are comfort media for them. Harmony's favorite movie is Spirited Away and Acht's favorite is Kiki's Delivery Service.

Acht chills with Harmony's fish a lot i think.

Neither of them know how to cook.

Harmony leaves her work spaces very messy, but Acht keeps hers VERY neat.

Acht and Harmony both take surprisingly long to get ready and pick out outfits, but Acht takes much longer than Harmony.

They do a lot of parallel play where they just sit in silence and do their own thing.

Acht hangs out at Hotlantis with Harmony a lot and just keeps their headphones on and chills.

Acht also runs the store when Harmony isn't there.

They both listen to a lot of video game osts and it's probably what Harmony keeps playing in the store as well.

Acht has asked why Harmony doesn't stream playing games, and Harmony just doesn't wanna. She would rather just post reviews.

They swap whos the little spoon depending on the day.

Both of them have terrible sleep schedules.

The first time Acht ever saw a splatfest she was enamored, and now she makes sure to always attend the concerts. Harmony insists on keeping the store open since people are everywhere during splatfests and love to shop. But the floats come through the same streets as the shop, so Acht makes sure to pull her away to watch them at least once. And Harmony loves seeing the music as well.

Neither of them really participate in turf wars. Acht is older than most players and finds it awkward to team up with random teenagers but isn't willing to put together an official team of players her age. But she still likes to take her trusty squiffer out to the practice range to keep her skills sharp. Harmony LOVES to watch her practice.

I was about to go into a whole thing of which team they would pick for each splatfest and why, but i think thats gonna have to be later/if anyone asks for it cuz it may be too long for this post lol

so yeah ill end it there for now. they are my beloveds and i could talk about them forever so feel free to ask questions/send in suggestions/talk about how you view them

Fidget toy reviews!

Most of the reviews in this section will be based on the same type of stim, as they are the ones that i like the best.

That being said, the first theme is movement based.

A flippy chain!

They can also be called bike chains (which are also the name for a different kind of fidget), or Loopez according to the brand name.

They rotate around each other so you can keep your hands moving. They are quiet and good for studying or taking to school, although the smaller metal versions have a tendency to mess up if they aren’t robust enough. While this size exercises all of my hand, the smaller ones work your fingers.

Overall a 9/10 for it’s quietness and use ability

Metal infinity cubes

A classic type of fidget, you can get these practically anywhere, although metal versions are much harder to find. Metal ones are smoother to play with, but are also much louder because they clack together.

These work the whole hand, but often end with me dropping it because it is too large for my hands. I’m sure it has dents on it somewhere because I dropped in on an escalator once. It’s quite heavy so i have to carry it in my bag instead of my pockets.

6.5/10 It’s not for me but i can understand why people like it.

The classic fidget spinner!

One of them is made out of plastic and the other is made out of metal, so obviously they are of differing qualities. The classic shape is nice because you can flick it without much harm, although this can vary depending on the material and shape. The round one can be scratched like a record. The other side of the round one has a spiral that can be pretty hypnotising to watch.

I would recommend one to be cautious when choosing which shape to choose because it can alter your ability to stop it in motion. There are other variations of differing qualities, but in my opinion, the classic shapes are proven to be the best.

10/10

Tangle!

Made out of macaroni shaped modules, you can take them apart and put them together or even male your own custom versions. They also come with different textures, sizes and colours including a fuzzy version.

Very good to keep your hands busy and are very quiet, so they are good for study and school.

10/10 I want more of them

Wacky tracks

This is a budget version I got off the clearance rack so it doesn’t click all the time. It’s like am obnoxious version of a snake or a tangle. It makes clicks whenever you bend it. You can connect them together to make a super long one.

It’s not my thing and I don’t like the sound it makes but I can see the appeal.

3/10 I don’t like it very much

Monkey noodles

These are two of the noodlies by needoh so they are a good quality and and good texture. They are very stretchy and you can play with them in a multitude of ways.

They are played with in a way that can annoy other people as they are often flung about, so I would not recommend that they are brought to school.

tha ruin models i figured you could use to display trinkets and figures and stuff , on your desk or on your shelf or such !! sort of liek this thing i have in a corner of mine ( i know i need to dust dont roast me 🙏 )

theres a TON out there and i wasnt sure what would fit best for your space , whatever would work best for whatever set up you have . so i encourage you to look around , theres TONS of ruin sets !! heres some i almost included instead

theres also lots of dragon eggs , i included the one above specifically because theres an option to have just the egg , where a lot come with little dragons . reviewers say theyre stimmy but i also thought it would be a good place to store things ( trinkets , money / candy stash , etc )

here are also two other sand boxes i almost included !! one might work better 4 u :o)

i thought these were really cool as a smoke element but im not sure they would fly beacuse of your dorm rules / restrictions ówò

and the patchouli roll on also comes in a spray !!

Here we go...Squirkies Rating!

I now have 9 different pets and shall rate them based on my personal opinion of them. Though its opinionated, I still hope my ratings will help anyone that wants any! Unfortunately I will NOT be rating Pop Bop Butterfly, Toggle Turtle, and Spin-Fin Axolotl since I don't have those.

All ratings and reviewing under the cut!

First off, the collection guide says as a warning, and I quote: "Caution: squirkies are collectable novelty toys and are not intended to be used as soothing aids. Continuous repetitive use will degrade performance." I guess this applies to many stim toys though? I don't know but I'm including this still just in case. Also it wont stop me anyway.

So, the ratings begin!

• Twirly Whirly Hedgehog

A slightly weighted hedgehog. Comes in blue and pink.

1: The spikes up top spin. 2: The texture is rubbery and honestly pretty nice. 3: the weight is on the bottom and this allows it to wobble on a hard flat surface. Also good for just holding depending.

Overall, this one appeals to me myself a lot when it comes to fidget options. The spinning and texture are quiet and good for using secretly in a jacket pocket in public with one hand. So what if hedgehogs aren't an animal I'm crazy for? This one is fantastic.

My rating: 9/10

• Switchy Scorpion

A scorpion with a clicky tail and buttons on it's back. Comes in light blue and orange. NOTE: I replaced the ORIGINAL tail with my OWN wacky tracks because the original tail was shorter AND squeaky. Took some force with scizzors down in there to pry the original tail off. Be careful if you try this.

1: Buttons on it's back have a tiny bit of resistance and a decent click. 2: Its claws can be clicked once inward and outward with a click, moving each eye. 3: Its legs are made of a slightly softer material than the body and can be moved a little. 4: The tail when you first get it is squeaky and a little awkward to mess with. Thus why I replaced it.

Other than me modifying it, the rest of the toy is pretty alright. The claws are fun and the buttons are fun to press over and over with two fingers. The "being able to modify it in the first place" was cool imo.

My rating: 6/10

• Squish 'n' Fish

A rubbery fish with a squishy interior where a bubble is. Comes in blue and yellow.

1: Its tail stretches decently. 2: when squeezed, a bubble comes out of its mouth, and there's a small squiggly worm inside that I have trouble getting out in every squeeze. 3: The top fin can count as a fidget as well.

Completely rubbery and bouncy, it had a texture I myself despise when I first opened it. It took washing multiple times before I was comfortable touching it, and it still slightly repels me due to that faint powdery texture that some people dislike with stretchy stim toys. Could be my imagination but. With the bubble squish, it takes force from me personally, so I'm honestly not too crazy about this one other than its design.

My rating: 3/10

• Jiggles Jellyfish

A rubbery jellyfish with a noticable hard interior frame. Comes in blue and pink.

1: The buttons on the back have resistance and good clicks and honestly feel nice to me. 2: The tentacles can be stretched enough to where you can see where they are connected to the toy. 3: The sides of the body can be pressed inward with two fingers, making the hard inner frame more noticable. 4: The fringe on the head works as a small fidget.

Again with the same texture issue as the fish. Took multiple washings and if I can get rid of the feeling completely, I'd personally feel more inclined to use this one. If I wasn't paranoid about that feeling, I'd be using it more. Also, it's fun to place it on a flat surface with tentacles out in all directions before softly tapping it and watching it wobble.

My rating: 5/10

• Squiggly Snake

Hard bendable snakes that work similarly to tangles but with more resistance and sharp angles. Come in yellow/teal, pinkish purple/teal, and glow-in-the-dark (green and teal) in the 5 pack.

1: Similarly to a sharp-angled tangle, the body can be twisted around in different shapes with no noise. 2: The tongue can be pulled out a little but I would advise not pulling too terribly hard. 3: The head can be spun around with a nice clicking sound. 4: The eyes can be spun around with a softer clicking sound.

Another one I personally like. Not only do I enjoy snakes, but also, the clicking and various movements you can do with this one are nice to me. Though it's not as easy to move the body around as it is a tangle, it still does a good job at being satisfying. The clicking also sounds so good.

My rating: 8/10

• Clickety Cat

A conveniently fidget-cube-shaped cat. Comes in orange, purple, metallic (light blue), and glow-in-the-dark (blue).

1: The tail can be spun with little resistance and a satisfying clicky sound. 2: The mouth can be pushed inward and come out extended. It can then be made small again with another push. 3: The feet can be spun with your finger in a proper place while pushing. 4: The ears can be moved back and forth, moving the eyes as well.

Cats are a favorite animal of mine, and that, plus the tail and feet specifically, make this one of my top 5 favorites of my 9 squirkies. Though the feet aren't as easy to spin as the classic spinning part of a fidget cube, I still enjoy it. And the tail also is pleasurable, if you don't mind the noise.

My rating: 8/10

• Pop Tube Pup

A dog with two plastic ends and a pop tube making up its body. Comes in brown, white, metallic (orange), and glow-in-the-dark (light blue).

1: The pop tube body extends a small amount. 2: the ears can be moved up and down with a barely audible click. 3: the tongue can be clicked into place either up or down, moving the eyes.

The colors and tube are nice, though in my opinion that's all this dog really has. The ears are entertaining but not as much as parts of the other animals. I personally am also worried about the tube body breaking, mainly because I have bad luck with pop tubes breaking in half.

My rating: 4/10

• Cheeky Pop Monkey

A small square monkey with a backside like a pop-it. Comes in purple/pink, brown/yellow, metallic (blue/pink), glow-in-the-dark (pink/orange), and golden metallic (1/3 chance in mystery pack)

1: Both cheeks can be popped inwards with soft pop sounds. 2: The ears can be moved towards the back, popping the poppers back outwards. 3: The tail can be rotated similarly to the cat but with more resistance and a louder sound, moving the eyes.

Actually very satisfying to me. The being able to pop and un-pop the backside so easily is very handy, and the tail is good as an occasional fidget requiring a little force. The popping part of course really sells this one and is the main focus, but despite there only being 2 main stimming methods, what it has is nice in my opinion.

My rating: 7/10

• Curly Chameleon

A compact chameleon with a silicone-like tail. Comes in green/blue, pink/green, and glow-in-the-dark (light green/pink).

1: Pressing on the back ridges, which are plastic, makes the tongue stick out. 2: The tail can be uncurled before quickly retracting back into shape. 3: The eyes can be spun with a soft clicky sound.

This ones surprisingly high on my personal list just for the tail alone. Quiet and fun, and the tail part can be used in bed with less threat of waking up a nearby sleeping partner. Cute and appealing to me, I love the tail texture.

My rating: 8/10

BONUS: How the glow-in-the-dark squirkies look in the dark:

Uh edit: I couldn't add another image to this but left this title in here, so if anyone wants glow in the dark info, I could add it to a reblog.

OVERALL RESULTS:

Fun and neat little toys, I love the hedgehog, snake, cat, monkey, and chameleon the best. When it comes to fidget options with shopping trips and such, the hedgehog would be the one I'm most likely to take in public. The fish is my personal least favorite, but is still cute and it enjoy it more if the bubble came out easier and the texture wasn't at all powdery feeling.

This was fun to do, and I hope that whoever reads this review was at least entertained. And if it helps someone pick their favorite, I'm happy to help!

A little more headcannons bout Dust:

-He's very sensitive to light and sometimes wears sunglasses. His eyelights are more so for the dark and he can even read in the dark.

-Usually when Dust reads its for hours on ends just putting his mind in a different place and having thoughts in his head that aren't his. He loves romantic novels about power and love. He also writes reviews for some of the books if they're memoribal (good or bad)

-When he's been reading for too long, anyone is up to grab him and get him a snack and make him stretch. Horror is usually the one to check up on him, and has already made him a very soft and gooey sandwich.

-His braces stop him from eating any candy or sweets that are sticky and could get stuck. Which sucks because one of his favorite flavors is caramel and butterscotch. He wish he could enjoy the taste of cinnamon but it's too grainy. Horror does his best to bake something that he can eat with those flavors.

-He's been wearing braces long enough that he doesn't have to use rubber bands anymore. He does miss Horror or Cross helping him put them in though.

-His braces are Red and Purple respectively

-He goes to the gym sometimes to clear his head by working out. It helps him sweat out extra magic and he doesn't have to think much about it. Horror makes him lunch and his shakes before he goes.

-Sometimes he wish he could handle others like Horror does. Because he feels sloppy when it comes to hunting and trapping. He's pretty good at just knocking people out.

-He stims a lot, and has so many broken toys from stimming too much. However there is one toy he hasn't broken and it was given to him by Cross. It's a cube and it has so many buttons and switches. It also has a zipper on it and it's the size of a rubric cube.

-He loves listening to podcasts, ones that are just audio books, some true crime, some about legends and myths, some audio dramas. Just anything he can get caught up in for hours.

Hell Followed With Us is an incredible read that explores religious trauma from a unique and interesting setting and perspective. The messiness of Benji’s thoughts on his upbringing and relationship with New Nazareth and the Angels is so personal, but also something so relatable to someone who has left a toxic religious environment. The characters are incredibly diverse, with their own thoughts, feelings, and prejudice, even within similar groups. I adore the choice to include these prejudices within the Watch as it is something I know exists and have experienced myself within queer communities. Nick’s autism was a fact I was cautious about when first picking up the book. As an autistic person myself I often find that a character's autism is often kept completely separate from their other characteristics, however, Nick’s autism is a part of every aspect of his character. He keeps stim toys with him, goes nonverbal, and even experiences shutdown which is a symptom that is often overlooked in autistic characters in favor of more dramatic and well-known meltdowns. He is flawed, messy, and human, and is exactly the kind of representation I wish I would have had as a teenager. I could go on and on about how well Nick was written, and this attention to detail shows through in every single character. I have tried to write this review 5 times now and I can’t seem to fit in exactly what I am trying to get across. I loved this book, everyone should read it.

obsessed with the themes of breaking cycles woven throughout the prosecutor siblings’ characters and what it means for both of them. like i’ve written 5456345 words on franziska and her father specifically but the thing i want to talk about today is the fucking first trial in 3-5 because the last time an edgeworth and a von karma stood opposing counsel it ended in fucking murder. it ended in a tragedy so deep that it affected every conceivable character in the whole trilogy. but in bridge it is this... collaboration. it is miles edgeworth calling in a favour from his sister who is more than delighted to rise to the challenge. it is the presiding judge trying to tone down franziska’s fire and miles immediately objecting to the idea, no, no, let my sister crack her whip during trial, that’s her stim toy, it’s important and it makes her feel powerful. it is them riffing at one another and working together to figure this shit out, AND to help their friend who is too sick to be there himself. and it’s miles living his childhood dream and getting a chance to see what his life would have been, perhaps, if all that bullshit hadn’t happened, but it is also him standing side by side with a person who he only has and loves and gets because it happened. the universe took a father and gave him a sister and as if to whisper I’m sorry the cosmos named his sister karma.
