Here's a few of my second hand books. The Pan Books tend to have photographic covers like The Jokers and Saturday Night And Sunday Morning, both were 40p! I usually buy film related books, I brought 4 plays (which weirdly all had blue covers!) And they've been made into films. Most of the Penguin ones were turned into films, A Kind Of Loving, Billy Liar, The L Shaped Room etc. The Bogarde books are second hand except for Rank Outsider and the 3 autobiographies. I love the autobiographies, the photos are beautiful and the bright coloured band across each one going to the spine look nice, but I'll have to wait to buy anymore.

Went to a doctors appointment. And get this, I did it myself! I went in, gave them my name, my information, navigated the appointment (although they were VERY accommodating and lead me through every step of the way) and made the follow-up appointment by myself. No one even batted an eye when I used AAC, they were patient, accepted my head nods and hums, accepted my long typing, and were patient with me. One of the people was surprised I was alone though which was pretty funny to me.

It’s the first time I’ve done an appointment alone, and it will probably be one of the rare times I do because of how impractical and almost impossible it is for me, but I did it. And I’m super proud of myself. This was a special circumstance where I could do it myself and I’m lucky and proud of that.

Slowly learning to be more independent and do things on my own is a slow process, but it’s a process I’m proud of.

My mom's got cancer (her treatment will ensure the tumours more or less remain in stasis - she's stable and okay) and she meets many women in the similar positions.

She met a woman. Bit older than herself and with a more aggressive type of cancer. They chatted and she told my mom about her husband and two adult sons who do nothing for her.

She still does all the domestic labour and grocery shopping. She still has to cook. If she comes home from her cancer treatment and is too ill and tired to cook, she ends up eating leftover bread. They won't even heat soup for her.

And she talked to my mom, all worried. Because her doctor told her to eat healthier, and she doesn't know how to manage that on top of everything else.

And this is such a common story. In practice, those marriage vows are for the wives only.

I just got this Bunny Dee shirt and already got cat hair all over it. I love that the cat is ear tipped!! She has so many great designs in her threadless store… I am struggling not to buy all of them. (Sizing note: I'm pretty small (5'5", 125 lbs) and this medium is a fitted cut on me. Definitely order a size up a size or two if you want a looser fit, for the tank tops anyway.)

How I do the pharmacy is really interesting. It’s really one of the only medical places l can do really independently. My parents sit in the car and sometimes my sister comes in with me if I really need it, but the pharmacists know me and are really helpful and try and make it as independent for me as possible.

I go in, and proloquo4text has the option of enlarging my text. I usually do it on my phone because it’s easier than the large tablet I carry around! So I put down my name and date of birth and hand them my phone. They take my phone, put in my name and date of birth into the system. They pull up my name and give me my meds. I’ve never had an issue. My medication is always sorted out and everything, sometimes it’s messed up a little? But then my mom calls and gets it figured out.

They give me my medication and that’s that! I pay with my parents card if there’s any co-pays and I go on with my day. It’s super easy and I can do it independently! My mom looks over what I got and that’s it!

It’s just a really unique experience and very easy for me. I love how the people around me make things as easy as possible for me and try and make it smooth for me.
