She's 37???? I get we can enjoy stories and books at any age! I'm 24 and my sister, who also loves these books and enjoy is 41, she's a big Elucien! But if she ever behaved this way, I'd never be able to look at her the same, guess not everyone grows up, because I can't even wrap my head around someone who's married, with kids like my sister is, busy with work, and other responsibilities caring about strangers on the interent, and instigating drama online over unless they are miserable and need validation and a Karen.
Misery loves company and she must be given the evidence of her history of trolling and bullying on Twitter FIRST all because of imaginary characters. The evidence doesn't lie, she's been doing this unprovoked for a long ass time.
Anyways - I bet you anything she already has a burner account to stalk hate you) so hi !!! If you're reading this, get help Karen! Maybe you'll be less miserable and won't need validation from Twitter. ♥️
Good luck on your exams!
She’s not the one who is 37. It’s another one on TikTok who kept harassing me under one of my posts 😭😭
But there are other ones on Reddit who would always like be so rude for no fucking reason and then just taking one scroll through the Reddit i find that they have a fucking husband and kids like what the fuck why are you doing this?

sorry if you've answered this before but if you don't mind i have an mcat question. i'm starting my studying now, and i wanted to know how you spread out your content review? did you study a little bit from different sections throughout the week, or did you do all the content review for one section before moving onto the next? and if you don't mind sharing what resources you used, it would be much appreciated. good luck with your application and interview processes!
omg hi fellow mcat taker!
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMERS
i have not gotten my score back yet, and honestly i don't feel i performed my best when i took the exam (performance anxiety is Real and it Exists within me @_@) i'm likely going to be studying again to retake - which i accounted for when i began my studies! - so take all my advice with a grain of salt!
TIMELINE
i used a diagnostic to gauge my baseline score before diving into content review. from there i took the sporadic route -- i studied from different sections here & there! since i basically began studying right out of college, there was a good amount of info that i only needed a quick refresher on. i did some research on what previous test-takers said is usually high-yield and focused on those topics as well. about 2 months out i started taking practice FLs -- including my diagnostic, i took a total of 7 FLs prior to my test day with the last one being a week before d-day.
RESOURCES
FREE
Jack Westin is a great online resource. a lot of people recommend their site for CARS and i agree!
i dabbled in some Khan Academy modules from their MCAT course.
if i needed a visual/audio explanation of a concept i went to MCAT Self Prep's youtube channel.
if you lurk through reddit you can also find the MileDown anki deck which is great for active recall in all subjects.
PAID
i started off my content review with TPR's books (i've also heard of friends who used Kaplan's books!) but as time progressed i stopped using them to review and switched to online resources (see above).
as my test date got closer, i started using the sh!t out of UWorld. i got lucky and had a friend who no longer needed their subscription, but if you don't have similar connections i know those prices can get pretty steep. i do however highly recommend this resource because the qbank they have felt similar to the actual exam for me.
when doing FLs i used the ones included in my TPR purchase and then purchased AAMC Practice Exams to mimic the real thing.
TAKEAWAYS
honestly, looking back now i see how disorganized my studying was. but through conversations w other folks who have taken the mcat we've all agreed that you're constantly tweaking your study routine as the months progress. the biggest thing to take into account is your capacity for studying -- consider the amount of time, money, effort you can give to studying while also balancing your other obligations (like classes, work, extracurriculars... your own wellbeing) and move from there!
that was a lengthy response but i hope that answered your questions. if not or if you have more feel free to hmu! give yourself lots of grace when going through this -- you're not alone! a small blog in the abyss of tumblr (me. i'm the blog) is rooting for you :')

People I wanna know better tag meme
tagged by @supernovasimplicity thank you so much 🥰
Last song? I've been listening to a random mix of k-pop songs on repeat lately, I just checked and it was XG - SHOOTING STAR.
Favourite colour? I love dark blue/navy (so yeah I like tumblr's color lol)
Currently watching? Nothing tbh lol but I was watching Loki Season 2 which just ended. I get it if you don't care about the MCU anymore, I don't either really, but I really enjoy the Loki series in particular. I wasn't even much of a fan of Loki the character beforehand lol I just love time travel and multiple timelines/universes
Last movie? Mine was also Red White and Royal Blue!
Sweet/Spicy/Savoury? I have a huuuuge sweet tooth and always have. Though by that I really mean chocolate, not including white chocolate. There's a lot of non-chocolate sugary stuff that I don't like
Relationship status? Perpetually single, but I also haven't used dating apps in years and I don't go outside so that's on me lol
Current obsessions? Not really obsessed with anything in particular at the moment despite what my tumblr may look like. I might reblog something a lot, like OFMD, without being obsessed with it. Though sometimes it does mean I'm obsessed, like when Good Omens S2 came out lol.
Otherwise, I volunteer with OTW, specifically with Open Doors, and I've recently been a bit obsessive with some programming projects I've been working on for them. I already work full-time as a programmer btw, I do this shit for fun, because I'm a nerd lmao
Last thing you googled? "proctorio reddit" because today was my registration day at a community college and I was debating whether to stick with a "hybrid" class (basically meaning only exams are in person everything else is online) or going with a fully online course with online proctoring. I'm still undecided tbh but online proctoring sounds like a nightmare so I'll probably stick with hybrid. This is for Calculus 2 btw lol I'm in Calculus 1 right now. I didn't get a computer science degree (long story) so that's why I haven't taken calculus before. I am taking these classes for fun as well because I'm that much of a nerd.
Selfie? While I have posted selfies here before I think I probably shouldn't post my full face here either, so I grabbed a spooky mask
Tumblr media
Since it's night time my eyes don't look as blue as they would during the day but oh well.
Tagging @wecanbepirates @starrla89 @awff7 @chrryblssmninja and anyone else who wants to! Also feel free to ignore lol

I'd love to hear more about your experience building a career in IT without a degree, if you're comfortable sharing. Desperate for inspiration right now!
Hello anon!! Glad to share! I think IT is a great career for people without degrees. This is extremely long, so it's under a readmore.
So, this answer varies a bit depending on what part of IT you're most interested in. I'm gonna tell you what I did, which was start out as a help desk technician. Afaik, this is the most common career path for IT without a degree.
First thing I did was get familiar with computer hardware. I did this by taking computers apart and rebuilding them while I studied online resources. I got the computers from the local university, which offers spare or old electronics for very cheap; there are probably similar programs in your area.
The second thing I did was find out what certifications I needed. Certs are the currency of the IT field; degrees are useful, sure, but IME certs will get you way farther.
The first certification you'll want to get is the CompTIA A+. The tests themselves cost about $350 each, unfortunately, but that is a one-time payment and you don't need to buy official exam prep material. HOWEVER, I also know people who have no certs and are sysadmins, so this isn't required. They typically started out in a tech support call center and work on their own projects on the side — building gaming computers, learning a coding language, that kind of thing. It's a little harder for them to get going than for those with certs, but not impossible at all.
The A+ focuses on entry-level hardware and software. It's a little deceptive as far as the actual job goes, though; for one, it tests you on technology that's a little outdated (my last test in 2019 covered Windows 7 and 8.1), and you have to memorize shit, like what speed of RAM you can use with which type of motherboard, etc. The good thing is that none of this memorized information needs to be retained. We have Google. Just remember it long enough to pass your test and keep the general theory in mind, no need to remember specifics.
For prep advice, Reddit is a good source (check out /r/comptia), and the books and tests recommended there can be found for free in the right places. Also, if you see this in the next 5 hours, Udemy apparently has their courses on sale for $19.99 (as opposed to $109).
So we'll assume you get the certificate. Now you get to apply for jobs. Lucky you!
I live in a semi-rural area, so my job searching experience might be very different from yours. Here are some general tips, though.
Play up your people skills. My first manager told me I was hired because it was easier to teach willing people technical skills than interpersonal skills. And before you worry too much, please consider that the standards here are "willing to help" and "not condescending." The snotty IT guy stereotype is alive and well, and if you can be more polite than that guy, you're in a good place. People can handle weirdness if you're nicer than the other options.
Avoid coding bootcamps. In general, be wary of paid training that doesn't give you industry-standard certificates. There are so many businesses out there who will happily take your money and teach you the bare minimum before throwing you to the wolves.
For all things resume and interview, I highly suggest checking out Ask A Manager's site. I basically learned all my office interpersonal skills from her.
Try to work in a place that gets public funding. Government, nonprofits, schools, etc. YMMV on this, but I find these environments to be much less (openly) sexist, and more willing to take any complaints seriously, if only because it's worse for them if something negative gets out than in the private sector. Downside: the pay is not comparable at all to private sector pay. It depends on your priorities.
Speaking of pay...what is a help desk technician's starting wage, you might ask?
Well, in my HCOL area, a technician job requiring an A+ cert and a high school diploma starts out at about $28/hour. In Phoenix, AZ, the same job starts out at $20/hour. In LA, looks like it's $20-25, same for Boston. As you gain experience, your value shoots up. My previous position was as tier 3 support (the person the help desk techs turn to when they're stuck), and I was making more than most of my college-educated friends. Except the engineers. But having seen what it takes to be an aerospace or chemical engineer, I'm okay with that.
If you are looking beyond the immediate future right now, you can also check out other IT subfields. You'll usually start off in help desk, but you can advance very quickly. I would suggest:
Cyber security
Data analysis or database administration
Networking
GIS (geographic information systems, very cool stuff)
Software dev (check this out if you like flowcharts)
As far as my career path: I worked as a computer technician for a university, then a tier 2 support job for local government. (I then job-hopped and had a mental breakdown. Simultaneously. I do not recommend that part.) Now I'm a database administrator and project manager. I'm very new to this job but so far it's great.
Please feel free to ask me more questions! Most of my friends are in IT and if I don't have an answer, I can find you one.

The "Monthly" update
Doing this cause I got nothing left to do let's go
I'm doing physically well, if you can call "staying on a seat for the entire day well" with just my bines cracking.
The first part of my exams are in a week and I'm pretty sure I'm going to die. Today I just had the motivation to work on subject on 7. Great.
I started and finished Moonknight in 24 hours and I had a blast ! The co-op between Marc and Steven was epic and I had my "what is reality" moment that I had reading the comic. I also restarted Kimetsu No Yaiba because of one youtube video. That's it.
On another note, I realized I didn't touch my tablet since January and ... I feel a bit guilty about it, I don't know if it's my laziness speaking but I want to draw something but I don't know WHAT to draw so I'm kinda stuck ?
I try to take every bit of hapiness in life, but waking up at 10 am is not a way to study, I have to correct this.
Went into the BNHA fandom. I have finished reading everything interesting and looking at my screen thinking : "What now ?"

High School DXD could have been one of the best anime, with a fun storyline and mecanics (angels vs demons but chess) but infortunately they had to rely on fanservice (the bad kind of fanservice because YES there is a good kind) and I hate it for that

So thank to AO3, I am back once again into Persona.
This would be great if I could play them, but like 75% of Persona fans, I don't posses the right console. So I'm stuck between watching let's plays and reading fics (Some of you are into some weird shit and I am not sorry for kinkshaming you). I'm thinking that I really want to write a fic but I know that I don't have the willpower to regularly post (hehe look at Alcandra 2,5 years and still in hiatus). I just hope I will finally be able to write something other than schoolwork because it fucking sucks.

November, December & Half Of January Review
Yup. I do love lying. "I'm gonna try to do this every month". Hah. my *ss.
So, what happened to me during these month ?
For November, nothing. I just thought abiut "how about I make NNN again for the second consecutive year ?" and I finished it. +1 on satisfaction and that led me to my mental state of today. I know that some of my friends from schools are watching my blog (and I see you) and they tried but lost at the 25th. I judge you people. I then proceeded to uninstall reddit from my phone to get that sweet Go. No regrets, this app sucks more online data that youtube. Speaking of this bitch, it is way less entertaining than before. I don't know if it's me or what I'm watching, but I'm starting to get into my *winter mood* (aka I become apathetic toward pretty much everything). It's sucks. I feel like I don't deserve what I have and I hate this. Trying to make less depreciative "jokes" is helping but I just want to let it past me. But I lost myself in time.
December was more eventful. First, my Birthday. For being one year closer to adulthood, I'm scared. Like the world is waiting to devour me whole. But I got Metroid Dread ! Go play this game, I was able to escape the spoilers like Pm:TOK and these hours were 100% worth it. I also got a Gamecube controller and finnaly, I can play with my friend without the joycons. School is ... school is shit. I say it, and I'll say it again and again : school is fucked up. Some classes are just plain boring. Like, why the fuck is philosophical classes mandatory ? WHY ? 5 months, and it will end. I hope. The holydays I got for Christmas and New Year were the hardest. For 3 whole weeks, we didn't have a kitchen. I when you have to feed 7 people, It's Hell. For Christmas, I got myself amiibos.
Please, whoever is listening to us, be the devil or god, make Covid stop. I'm tired, you're tired, and if you're not, then you're dead. I'm happy that my family was not hit by this, but I don't want more suffering.
There things I still have to do. My homework, and study how to drive.
After a quick in and out of the Danganronpa fandom (thanks for the flluff btw) I came back into the Persona fandom (and I never left the Fire Emblem and TLOZ fandoms). I now realize that my entier schedule is based around my time on A03. I have to stop, or lessen my need. Hopefully, i did read what I wanted.
Time to prepare myself, for the future, I guess. Shame. Would have loved to stay a child forever, but sometimes, you have to give up on privileges to gain more.
That should be a wrap of what I wanted to say. I will my another post describing the moveis I saw during this time. ~toodles~

Ranking all the Ranger subclasses (D&D 5e)
Tumblr media
(Artwork by Terence “Terrylefruit" Cantal. Made for Riot Games.)
This is a repost of a Reddit comment I made a little bit ago to a thread talking about Rangers. I felt like I made a decent enough writeup to post it here on this Tumblr.
I’ve got exams for my summer courses to study for which is why builds have been slow, but I do have a few ideas in the pipeline for what to build. For now enjoy my quick-ish thoughts on every Ranger.
Beast Master
Don't play Beast Master without Tasha's rules. Just don't.
Post-Tasha's it's an alright pet subclass. Your companion can do good damage, with the Land companion being able to knock people prone and the Sky one being able to survive with Flyby. The thing is that Ranger has better sources of Bonus Action damage and the main reason to have a companion really is to divert some attacks, which is where the problem with Beast Master comes in. The Sky companion won't get hit if you're not stupid but it's really not that great overall, and the Land companion is pretty much objectively worse than the Drakewarden companion (discussed later.)
Add in the need for Wisdom and you have a meh subclass overall even after Tasha's "buffed" it. It does what its built for now (which is a far cry from how it was in the PHB), and if you want to play that sort of character it's perfectly fine. But I absolutely wouldn't go out of my way to play one outside of a very specific build.
1/10 Pre-Tasha’s, 7/10 Post-Tasha’s
Drakewarden
Beast Master's younger, cooler brother. Let's just go down the point-form list of why Drakewarden is pretty much objectively better than Beast Master:
Drake actually does decent damage (2d6 + PB, assuming you can use the Drake's reaction every turn which you should. Even if you can't you can have it try an opportunity attack.)
Drake actually has decent armor / selectable resistances (14 + PB fuck you +1 over Beast Master lmao)
Drake's damage scales midway decently (IE you don't have to wait until level fucking 11 for more damage although the Drake does have the problem that its initial d6 + PB bite is always non-magical RAW)
Drake gives you resistances
You can use the Drake as a mount if you're Medium sized (it comes online slower than a Paladin's Find Steed spell but...)
Oh and the thing can fly at level 7 (but not when you're riding it.) It won't have Flyby but it can still maneuver around well.
You (and your Drake) get a Breath Weapon that does Fireball damage; that's pretty cool. I know you get it at level 11 but Fireball on any class is still Fireball.
Having a Flying mount by level 15 that also basically has Warding Bond cast on it is also a better capstone than "Zephyr Strike affects your pet" don't @ me.
Excluding the fact that "I don't always want to play a character with a dragon companion that breathes fire" Drakewarden is pretty much objectively better than Beast Master, at least in my eyes.
8/10
Fey Wanderer
Fey Wanderer similarly suffers from the "you have to have a specific character in mind" problem. With that being said I'm playing this subclass currently and lmao it's kinda busted. Damn good innate spell list, ability to do extra damage (it rewards spreading damage out but tbh with Sharpshooter it's not a bad idea)...
Otherworldly Glamour is just dumb. Do you like having Persuasion checks higher than the Bard's Expertise? Get +2 or +3 in Charisma before taking this class and enjoy your +7 Persuasion checks it's silly.
Beguiling Twist can really augment a charm-based team if you don't mind blowing your reaction constantly. There's a lot of neat ways to use this ability and it rewards creativity imo.
Fey Reinforcements is freaking insane for action economy. Summon Fey is an incredibly good summon and being able to cast it (at any level!) and also cast Hunter's Mark is such an insane boost to DPS. No joke taking 11 (or more like 12) levels in Fey Wanderer just to take the rest in Cleric / Druid for higher level spell slots is insane value.
And Misty Wanderer is... alright. Misty Step is a good spell and you can keep your allies safe, but the real capstone is at level 11 not 15.
9/10
Gloom Stalker
What is there to say other than "it's Rogue with spells and Extra Attack instead of Sneak Attack." Well Umbral Sight is objectively broken; just full-stop. Being essentially permanently invisible can be really unfair and a DM either has to make monsters play stupid or play needlessly smart just to get around this ability in certain areas.
Umbral Sight is unironically what carries Gloom Stalker until level 11 (although Dread Ambusher is certainly not bad and who doesn't like a Saving Throw proficiency?) Stalker’s Flurry and Shadowy Dodge are both incredibly good insurance of your damage output and survivability. The only criticism I have for Gloomstalker (other than the fact that Umbral Sight is objectively overpowered and you'll be accused of being a powergamer) is that it's kinda boring sometimes. It feels a little too much like you're playing a Rogue with spells and Extra Attack instead of a proper "Ranger" I guess.
9/10 possibly even a 9.5/10
Horizon Walker
The problems start and end with Planar Warrior. It takes your Bonus Action (annoying but not game-ruining) but it also has a 30 foot range limit for some reason? Some people say that this subclass "rewards a melee Ranger" but melee Ranger is trash (take it from a guy who played a Chinese Knockoff Paladin by making a Strength-based Horizon Walker with a Greatsword.) Talk to your DM about removing the range limit on Planar Warrior and this subclass becomes a lot of fun, because it's legit my favorite subclass despite that one flaw.
Ethereal Step has crazy utility, Distant Strike is just good (in general), and Spectral Defense... eh well it's basically just Shadowy Dodge from Gloom Stalker. Not to mention that the innate spell list is very good (although perhaps a little Concentration heavy.) Again the problems with this subclass start and end at Planar Warrior and if your DM allows you to fix that one problem then it's good.
6/10
Hunter
Pack Tactic's video explains the subclass better than I ever could.
youtube
The tl;dr is that it's outdated and could easily be made good by giving it an innate spell list or a few more features.
At level 3 Colossus Slayer is your best bet, although Horde Breaker can be really cool. Giant Killer is a trap don't take it too many conditions to play melee Ranger which is bad.
At level 7 Multiattack Defense is your best bet by far. Escape the Horde is a trap; just take the Disengage action or the Mobile feat (or just don't move near enemies pepega.)
Volley is objectively better than Whirlwind Attack because WWA requires you to get surrounded which is never a good move. WWA could use a rework to make melee Ranger more viable :p
At level 15 Evasion is your best bet by a country mile. Stand Against the Tide is bad even by "melee Ranger bad" standards Uncanny Dodge would be better for a melee Ranger (and would still be bad lmao.)
Yes this Ranger does get Rogue level 7 features at level 15. Doesn't make it a bad subclass; again it's simply outdated.
7/10
Monster Slayer
Do yourself a favor and just don't. The best summary I've heard of Monster Slayer is that "it makes you feel like Batman in the Justice League in the sense that your friends will have super powers and all you'll have are a bunch of dinky gadgets."
Hunter’s Sense is alright shouldn't cost an action. Slayer’s Prey is objectively worse than Hunter's Mark... shame your entire freaking subclass is built around this feature. :)
Supernatural Defense is... passable. Not good not bad can be good against specific enemies I guess? Magic-User’s Nemesis sucks because your Wisdom isn't going to be high enough for this to be remotely difficult, especially since most casters have high Wisdom scores.
Slayer’s Counter is mediocre at best. Again only good against casters. This entire subclass is weirdly tailored to deal with casters who don't show up frequently enough to make this subclass worth it. Even if you're fighting against casters a Barbarian with the Mage Slayer feat is better at locking down squishy Wizards.
3/10
Swarmkeeper
It's an odd duck, because it simultaneously has a lot of abilities that offer tons of flexibility but collectively feel like they're very underwhelming overall. Let's address them one by one:
Using Gathered Swarm for extra damage is nice but it's worse than Hunter Ranger.
Moving enemies around is nice but it's a Strength save against your Wisdom, which won't be too high as a Ranger. You can do it every turn though?
Free movement is nice but yeesh you're only moving 5 feet?
Mage Hand is nice. Faerie Fire and Web are nice. All your other spells are mediocre at best but hey they're high level you won't get to use them anyways.
Writhing Tide is just bad for the sake of being bad I have no idea why WoTC thought giving the Ranger a flying speed higher than 10 feet would be broken.
Mighty Swarm makes your meh Gathered Swarm ability slightly less meh. Knocking enemies prone is okay if you have melee allies but it screws over your ranged allies, and getting Half Cover is nice but not exactly game-defining. (If you need cover just run behind a wall you should have a bow.)
Swarming Dispersal is cool but it should be gained way earlier imo. The fact that it's limited is icing on the "meh" cake. This entire subclass radiates "it's cool but why am I playing this" energy: I don't know what to do with the in-built flavor and the abilities don't really cater to any unique idea. This subclass ironically feels like "Hunter Ranger 2" since it's so vanilla.
5/10 maybe 5.5 if I'm being generous
